You mentioned an ACUPOP that Kate scrimped and saved to buy a present for Neddy during Christmas and his birthday. Now that they're better off, how does Neddy celebrate his mom? How does Anthony help?
Oh Anthony loves spoiling Kate in a million different little ways. He bought her a car, obviously, but other than that he tries to look after her every day. He loves her, and he wants her to know that, even though it embarrasses her a little, how wealthy he is. They go for weekends away with Neddy and by themselves and he loves it, and Kate loves the time they spend together as a family.
Neddy is excited about one thing: Being able to get his mum a Christmas present. Because she would never let him before and so he nervously goes to his Dad in November and clears his throat,
“Hey, um- Dad, I wondered if I could ask you something?”
Anthony snapped his laptop shut immediately, turning towards his son, “What’s up, Sprout?”
“I um- Before, Mum would never let me get her a Christmas present and I didn’t have anyone to ask to like, help me out, so I thought this year, maybe I could do some chores for you to get some pocket money to buy Mum some new paintbrushes?”
Neddy saw something flash in his father’s eyes, saw the convulsive swallow, “You’ve never bought mum a present?”
Neddy’s heart stopped “She wouldn’t- it’s not like I never wanted to, I love her, Dad and I tried but she wouldn’t let me have any money for it and- I used to make her a cake every year and-“
“Hey,” his Dad said, wrapping his arms around him, “I’m not mad at you okay? I was only asking.”
“I tried to look after her.”
His Dad took a shuddering breath before he kissed his forehead “I’ll take you this weekend and we’ll pick out something great okay? You don’t have to do chores to buy Mum something nice you just come to me okay, and we’ll get it together. It’s about time you have your own money anyway. We’ll get you an account at my bank, £50 a week okay? That’s how much I give Greg and Hyacinth.”
He stared back at his Dad, “What’ll I like… do with it though?”
He looked a bit bemused, “Well, video games, junk food… books? Going out with your friends… whatever you want. But, things for Mum, you ask me okay? We’ll get those together.”
And Edmund’s never felt so proud than on Christmas morning when his Mum unwraps a new set of paintbrushes from him, and he sees the tears in her her eyes, and the deep breath she has to take before she kisses his forehead “I love you, Neddy.”
“I just… I love you, Mum. And you looked after me, and I know it wasn’t easy but I’m going to look after you now too okay? Me and Dad both are.”
And it’s a long time before she lets him go.

So about that episode....
Are we gonna talk about how Yosano remembers all the soldiers that died even 14 years later? Or how protective Tanizaki is of all the ADA members (told Yosano he'd take her place, yelled at Jouno for hurting Kenji, his whole thing with Naomi, his concern when Atsushi was kidnapped, yelling in absolute terror when Kunikida sacrificed himself)? Or how Ranpo and Yosano are actually THE friendship of all time? Or how Fukuzawa got so feral and enraged for her sake? Or how Yosano sees the agency as the place that actually wanted her even if it didn't need her? Or how she will do anything to protect it? Or how this entire season is just telling us what a family they are? And how her entire backstory is all about the value of life and how she held onto how valuable individual lives were despite everything about it (war, her ability, Mori) telling her to commodify humans lives? Or just how incredibly Yosano's kindness is portrayed, showing us that she can be kinda sadistic and sarcastic and terrifying but still be called kind? Or, or, or ....

omg happy 15th birthday to acupop neddy the cutest ever I’m sure anthony threw a huge and expensive party that he never asked for lol🥰
Oh, I just know Neddy is living it up today, and this was probably the first birthday party he was really looking forward to. Because last year, when he turned fourteen he had no idea what to expect. He didn't know that his Dad would take the day off work and spend every second with him and his Mum, and he didn't know that his entire family would come round and want to spend time with him as well.
But this year he knows they will. At least, he thinks they might. He at least knows that his Dad will be there, the same as he was last year and he won't have to take out the photograph of him and his mum as teenagers and he won't have to feel guilty for asking about his Dad and seeing the pain on his mum's face before she clears her throat
"Of course, you can ask about him, its fine, Neddy."
His Dad's right there, when he comes downstairs, Miles on his hip, grinning brightly next to his Mum who looks like she's going to cry.
"I can't believe my baby's fifteen."
Edmund wrapped his arms tightly around his Mum squeezing her tight, realising he was nearly as tall as her now, "I'm still your baby though."
"Don't forget about poor old Dad." He shuffled closer, kissing Neddy on the top of the head affectionately, "Love you, Sprout."
He can feel it, in his chest, how loved he is by his Dad who he'd once been so terrified of. Terrified this man would take one look at him and say he's not mine or I don't want this. But he never had. His father took him places proudly, had started him at school and took him with him to work with the firm comment to anyone he met Have you met my son, Edmund? He owned him, the way Edmund had always hoped his father might.
"Love you too Dad."
"NEDDY!" Miles shrieked clapping his hands loudly.
"And you too, Milo." He turned to his Mum, who'd been all he had for so long "And Mum."
She had tears in her eyes again when she pushed his hair back from his eyes, "I can't believe how big you are now. So handsome."
His dad grinned, winking at her as he ruffled Edmund's hair "Oh, he's a chip off the old block. Son, when I met your mum is was almost unbearably handsome. It's how I tricked her into bed with me."
Edmund balked at the same time his mother swatted at him, "Dad! I don't want to hear that!"
"What?! We were young once too Neddy, and I was only five years older than you are now when I-"
"Let's do presents!" His mother cut across him, clapping her hands over Neddy's ears, mouthing something furiously at his father as she led him to the kitchen counter but Edmund didn't really mind. This was his family, and it felt good. Despite everything, it still felt good.
