OKAY SO!
Diares Rewrite - Divine Relics And Their Warriors
I (added one) AND REDESIGNED THE DIVINE RELICS!!!
This was mainly done for one because I don’t really like the many of the original designs tbh- AND TWO! I wanted to put effort into the symbolism behind the shapes and gems, because symbolism makes me happy, and I like over analyzing things 😌
This one is going to be a long one, so I’m gonna go ahead and put a cut here, lol
FIRST OFF!
Irene (Aphmau)- Purple Diamond
Irene’s relic is based off of the purple diamond! One of the most rare gemstones and a sign for nobility. Irene, being the head of the warriors, slides into this role, as well as the theming of pride and spirituality, for, obvious reasons.
This one didn’t really get a redesign since it’s so iconic
Enki (Travis) - Lapis
Besides wisdom being a key tenant of Enki’s divinity, I thought this worked a lot with Travis and the storyline I’m planning to put him through.
From someone who flirts to hide their their own feelings and thoughts, to someone who is more open and an advisor of sorts. I view Travis as someone who is genuinely very smart and always listening and adapting his actions and words to what people want. The conclusion to his story would be to put a focus on him learning to do what he wants, and to being more genuine and open. To learn that his not just what he can do for others, he’s not just his fathers jailer. That these things are great and all, but that him just being himself is all that really matters
I kept this pretty much the same as the old design again since it looks cool and also I think having the two little gems bracketed leans into the “keeper” title. Especially with the people of their line being all about keeping the demon warlock/evil forces sealed away.
Shad (Aaron) - Ruby
Lets be soooo for real, the story tells itself. From the past hurts, to martyrdom, all the way to being protective of family and having a distorted veiw of one’s self. Shad and Aaron both fit all of these to a T
Annnndddd for the shape I took inspiration from this Slavic symbol!
Like…. Fire…… war……… going through shit….….. also the whole “child” thing!? What started his whole downfall was his daughter being turned into a relic. This relic. To be exact.
I get to be a little devious. As a treat >:3c
Esmund (Garroth) - Pink Garnet
Ok so, the name obviously matches but omg I swear I didn’t realize until much later XDDD
Funny coincidences aside, I thought the themes of loyalty, devotion, consistency, etc. really match him and the stability that he brings to those around him. Not to mention the whole “used to ward off evil“ blah blah blah. AS WELL AS the part where it says that it’s believed through being cut and polished (put through hard times) are when a garnets ability truly shines through. Showing how before he was nothing but a cog in his father’s wheel until he went through adversity and re made himself!
I wanted this to have the general shape shield as well as include the reoccurring shape I put in Garroth’s redesign!
AND I CANT PUT MORE THEN 10 PICTURES PER POST SO ILL REBLOG WITH THE REST RIGHT HERE

it’s actually crazy to me how many TAZ things she’s already guessed right (or at least got the vibes right)??? like look at all of this!!
Ep 8:
Ep 9:
Ep 27:
Ep 28:
Ep 35:
After ep 37, when I told her there was a parallel between TAZ and Doctor Who (vague spoilers for that, I guess? through s5):
and before I even told her there was a parallel, she made a semi-joking prediction based on that same part in Doctor Who: “What if there was a 4th member of the party and they got killed or something and they got erased?”
anyway like!! how is she doing this!!!! I don’t remember a ton about what my theories were the first time I listened, but I definitely didn’t have all this????

I suddenly remembered this shit invention and thought of Jason, then I spent ages looking for the Chindogu book I got as a kid to see the page about it again haha
I love Chindogu (珍道具) so much. It's this invention art form of making something almost useless - tools for everyday life that have a clear purpose but solve a problem so insignificant or are impractical to an extent that nobody would ever actually use it. They are described as "man-made objects that have broken free from the chains of usefulness". As you can see with this one: the zip mostly defeats the filtering purpose of the mask, having a metal zip resting against your face all day would suck, and just like pull the mask down. There are heaps of Chindogu out there!!

labrys has all the amazing manderville tank weapons now! i have opinions.
1. the axe looks phoned in ngl. the cone shape to the ribbons on it is pretty bad. i prefer the og state.
2. the dark knight one is cool, the colors are really nice on it. had to change my drk glam tho :/
3. paladin's slaps so fucking hard next class
4. gunbreaker's is actually way better than i was expecting! was hoping it'd glow a different color tho, but it does dye nicely
my femroe mains warrior so i am fingers crossing it so hard, but if the paladin weapon stays edgy i will be equally glad ♡♡

dragonfire
this one's got a bit of a story behind it, under the cut for length
about a month or two into the campaign, we got word of—and saw—a red dragon and rider scouting the area around our party's home base. dragons in this setting work for the Dragon Empire, a nation-state to the south, and are ridden only by the Highlords, a coterie of warriors led by the Dragon Emperor...and a bit of investigation turned up another shocking piece of information.
the red dragon rider, Highlord Renato, was a former member of the Kai, who purportedly betrayed the order and helped hunt them into extinction...and was now hunting Cedar.
we had a couple close encounters with him, including one in a dream where Cedar faced off with him (and actually took damage from his attack!), but managed to escape his grasp every time...so he got clever, and laid a trap.
see, the thing is, two of our other party members—Asmodai, our cleric, and our paladin, Berethor—are acolytes of a persecuted religion, and Cedar was known to rarely be seen without them. a ruined temple to their goddess was located just west of Renato's domain, and when we went to investigate it, he'd laid a trap that went off when we entered the crypt, and he cornered us in it before we could flee, with the dragon covering the entrance to the crypt while he descended the steps to fight us in person.
we rolled initiative, and Asmodai and Cedar got the same initiative count and were first in the order. we went to the end of the crypt, right around the corner of the stairs, with Cedar insisting that they were going to fight Renato to buy everyone else a chance to escape—and Asmodai stepped out first and snapped his staff, a holy artifact of his goddess, causing a backlash that destroyed Renato on the spot.
at which point the dragon blew fire at us.
we were on the same initiative count, though, and I turned to the dm and asked "hey, can I accelerate and try to pull Asmodai out of the way?"
"make me a strength check", he says.
I beat the DC by one.
which saved both of our lives—Cedar managed to drag Asmodai, in full plate, twenty feet back down the hallway to Berethor, who jumped in and shielded us from the flames with his magic cloak
