no thoughts just comparing the deliberate parallels between the concerned comments layla, faruzan and paimon make to kaveh which are used to contextualise alhaitham’s comments to kaveh during a parade of providence
In the desert, layla who previously had issues with dealing with anxieties, received dubious advice from kaveh about equating worries to that of a sickness for that which is no cure, therefore you have to let its run its course
Layla reveals that this advice isn’t suitable for her, since the cause for her anxiety was solely because she didn’t have a clear goal for herself. She states that therefore, if this advice is something kaveh adheres to, then this is ultimately worse for him, as kaveh claims to have a set goal - as in, he wants to win the interdarshan chanpionship.
She notes that kaveh seems conflicted, and that this could stem from some inner sadness which he suppresses with a façade of happiness.
This points to kaveh’s internal conflict being between that of his guilt complex brought about by his perceived involvement in his father’s passing, and his genuine desire to help others at the cost of himself. Kaveh cannot balance the two in ways that will allow him to prioritise his own needs and desires
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaveh’s internal conflict is pointed out later on in the same quest by Faruzan, who highlights kaveh’s title as a genius being incongruous with his problem solving abilities after kaveh passes out in the desert due to giving his food and water to the disturbed foxes and going out of his way to lead them to safety, putting himself at risk and jeopardising his place in the competition
However, Kaveh states that his title of a genius has nothing to do with this situation, and although he admits it wasn’t the most practical solution, it was dually his conscience that ultimately caused him to act and perceivably the guilt that would come from not attempting to help
Tumblr media
After the second round comes to a close and faruzan inadvertently informs alhaitham of kaveh’s “tribulations”, the player gets to hear alhaitham’s reactions to kaveh’s decision through kaveh, as kaveh and alhaitham have discussed the events in the desert offscreen
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paimon points out that this is definitely ‘something’ alhaitham would say due to the blunt manner of speaking and the dryness of his words - this contextualises how kaveh receives them, as personal goading
When looking past this and focussing on alhaitham’s actual words, the real meaning can be found, and it is even a point in this scene that paimon offers the exact same comments, drawing direct parallels between her and alhaitham’s words, and therefore establishing the same concerns
Alhaitham points out kaveh’s unreliable problem solving abilities being incongruous with his title as a senior - directly paralleling faruzan’s comments in which she highlighted how kaveh’s decision making abilities were at odds with his title as a genius
As well as this, alhaitham alludes to kaveh’s guilt complex being the reason why he exerts himself for others at his own expense - which is a point that the traveller and paimon directly follow up on
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaveh responds to their questioning amicably despite the sensitive nature of the conversation, just as he did when faruzan pointed out kaveh’s problematical decision making, and this is because of their apparent concern rather than actively seeking offence, with paimon protesting when kaveh asks: “don’t tell me you think i have serious personality flaws, too?” With the ‘too’ clearly referencing alhaitham and the conversation the two had prior to the traveller and paimon turning up
Kaveh can understand the concern in others’ words when they question his problem solving skills and the sense of his inner conflict stemming from guilt, however, when alhaitham makes the same comments, kaveh sees this as a form on animosity and personal critique
Tumblr media
Because of alhaitham’s manner of communication and kaveh’s apparent distrust of alhaitham, the two cannot reach a mutual understanding - despite alhaitham expressing the same concerns as three separate characters within this quest
It is telling then that when kaveh gleans an otherwise unseen meaning in alhaitham’s words is when alhaitham changes his method of communication and directly, and intimately, addresses kaveh by using a script that only the two are privy to
Tumblr media
Kaveh still doesn’t wholly understand alhaitham’s meaning, but the switch up in communication method is enough for kaveh to question alhaitham’s sincerity and not attribute it to alhaitham mocking him
Kaveh continues questioning the cause for this throughout the remainder of the event, being seen to question why alhaitham left the notes for him and whether if it was a coincidence or not. He concludes that it wasn’t a coincidence and then states “then…”, inferably questioning why alhaitham left the notes for him and what the meaning of his words were, in a script only kaveh would understand. Additionally, kaveh mentions wanting to ask alhaitham what the meaning of his notes were when at dinner after the closing of the interdarshan championship, as the uncertain meaning of his words has seemingly left a profound effect on him
Alhaitham changing his manner of communication, which kaveh usually perceives as negative, causes kaveh to question alhaitham’s sincerity, and therefore causes doubt in whether alhaitham is patronising him or not. This in turn can cast obscurity over kaveh’s assertion that alhaitham holds “disdain” for him due to Alhaitham’s expression of concern which kaveh cannot perceive due to the abrasiveness of his words. Alhaitham conveying his concern in a roundabout way only allows for kaveh to misinterpret him, which kaveh perceives as “disdain”.
A parade of providence establishes the cause for the rift in alhaitham and kaveh’s relationship mainly to be perpetual misunderstanding in communication, and sets out to propose a solution being that a change of communication.
By using a language that only the two of them know shows that for kaveh to fully understand his meaning, alhaitham must meet kaveh on his own terms when it comes to communication - the two must be on equal and frank level. this could allow a potential rebuilding of intimacy the two once shared when initially learning the language, and thus overcome the idea of “mutual disdain” which kaveh asserts due to his fundamental misunderstanding of alhaitham which alhaitham seems to reinforce with his typical language

Heyy I designed uniforms !! :D
Based the clothes mostly on the biome they spawned in and what clothes would be comfortable there + vibes of the teams themselves
I also made a teammates uniform (left) and leader uniforms (right) and for those I did think more on the leaders and how they would style a uniform (+ giving them cape silhouettes bc who doesn't love a good cape)
(also was mainly inspired on retro futuristic fashion but i probably deviated from that in some things xd)
Like my art? Consider buying me a coffee!

Yan! Prosecutor x GN Reader CW: Reader didn't survive lol :D Featuring: Eldridge (Prosecutor), Stephen (Inspector), Adam (Yulian-Lawyer), Kaspar (Mafia Ringleader)
Yan! Prosecutor who finds your state pitiful. Apparently, you were the scapegoat of some of the higher-ups to cover a grander crime. You were defrauded and thrown into a cage of beasts, ready to be pronounced guilty by the judge.
Yan! Prosecutor who is not as cold and merciless as the rumors stated. In fact, he is a gentle soul, he doesn't corner you nor consider your confession as something delusional, unlike the defendant's lawyer who is just as gentle and polite yet a blade ready to dissect you open should you stumble with your words.
Yan! Prosecutor who is determined to win this case to prove his capability and to save yet another pitiful innocent soul from death tow. It doesn't have anything to do with personal relation and gain yet he can't help but fall for you from your determination.
Yan! Prosecutor who enjoys the time spent with you despite the fact that you two are running out of time. Should you two ignore the fact that the visit is limited and that the trial's date is approaching, it would have been a pleasurable date.
Alas the prosecutor, Eldridge Alscher, lost the trial. His eyes darted around the court, in front of him was the prodigy, Adam deus'Otiosus (AN: Yulian), and right in front of the judge was you, standing with hollow eyes, ears deafened by the crowd and juries' cheers the moment the gavel was knocked.
The lawyer's eyes gazed at you for a moment before they met Eldridge's. What appeared to be a polite, patronizing smile was actually a mockery from the victor.
You still had time before your execution date arrived and Eldridge never missed a beat in visiting you, showing you all sorts of kinds of stuff you adore. The determination in your eyes was gone, and that was supposed to make him fall out of love.
But he didn't. He couldn't.
"I..." His hand was placed on the glass screen that separated you two, "I promise you, I will make them all pay back twice." The bastards of higher-ups, the system of injustice, and the bastard of a lawyer.
"I will drag them all one by one, I will issue a report and make sure that I catch them all one by one." You nodded at him, barely responsive.
"And I swear to God," He gritted his teeth, hard. "that Adam's beloved spouse would suffer the same fate as you did." It was ironic, for someone who despised the injustice served in the court, his heart yearned for something of so terrible to happen to someone else.
--
Years have passed and it had reached a final turning point. Tomorrow, Eldridge would lead the court case of the nation's biggest threat, an infamous mafia that he managed to catch, someone related to the lawyer.
A drug dealer who had defrauded and committed countless grand scale of fraud, Kaspar.
This would set a downfall for Adam's career and life. To be frank, he had once heard that Adam's spouse was once convicted of a case, suspected to be a murder case.
The Inspector who was responsible for the case was shunned shortly after the interrogation, and the case was somehow buried before it could even reach the light.
It was a shame, the two of them had an entirely different motive yet he wished the Inspector could have at least brought it up for trials.
Noticing that it was time for him to finally rest, Eldridge retreated himself into the bedroom.
--
Kaspar elbowed Adam as they waited for the trial to begin, "Where's that petty prosecutor? He sure took his sweet time."
Yulian looked at his watch indifferently, "How convenient that he fails to meet the etiquette of not oversleeping."
Shortly after his comment, a report was made hastily in the waiting room, "Reporting! Mister Alscher was reportedly rushed to be hospitalized just this morning! He had been terribly wounded on his left eye!"
Kaspar snorted at the report before waving the official in duty away, "Anyone who is involved with you always ends up miserably huh? Last time that Inspector's career and reputation completely plummeted and now this petty prosecutor loses his pretty eye, what's next?"
Yulian mumbled something beneath his breath before looking at Kaspar, "But I didn't do anything." "Huh?" "I didn't do anything."
The room fell into silence. Kaspar knew Adam really well that he was not the kind of man to make a convenient lie like that.
"Then... who dunnit?"
__Uphill Daisies. Welcome, to the den of awakening grudges.

Going as long as possible with only Astarion, Day 1
(Durge) Woke up on the beach. Shadowheart is not there. Wander in a confused, vaguely bloodthirsty haze for a few hours. Almost get shit rocked by a pair of intellect devourers.
> Find a lute in a barrel. Reconsider this whole "sorcerer" thing.
> Critically fail at picking open those dusty ancient doors in the cliffside. Break thieves' tools. Give up. Kick sand.
> Sneak past intellect devourers (don't you feel good about yourself?)
> Encounter an ... elf. You think. He asks you to kill one of those brain things like you killed the others. You did not kill the others. This guy is a chump. "Easily," you say, "Stand back."
> Fail perception check
> Turns out the elf is as bad at living as you are. you give him a nosebleed. turns out he has brainworms too.
> For some reason you decide to stick together and look for a healer
> Discover pinned mind flayer. Smash its brains in. Make camp for the night
> Oh no it's just you and this stranger who pulled a knife on you
> The stranger who pulled a knife on you offers to take first watch
> Because you are an idiot, you agree
> Have lovely dreams about pulling out intestines and hanging them up around the camp like party streamers
> oh you're a little bit fucked up aren't you
> in the morning the stranger mentions that you don't seem to have slept well, and were shaking and convulsing all night
> "thanks for taking the watch," you say, deflecting
> "My pleasure. I thought you might be afraid I was a murderer."
> "Not at all," you say. "What are the chances of two murderers in one camp?"
> ha, he says
> ha ha, you say
> strained smiles
> neither of you are sleeping ever again

Fuck it. I'm gonna bite the bait just to say that there were many instances where jc clearly trated wwx like a brother/friend in the BOOK, aka the canon text in case anyone was confused or have seemed to have selectively forgotten about.
From the part where jc scoffs at the prospect of wwx getting together with a servant. Laughing and proclaiming that he was treated better than he was (in reference to his own sister peeling his lotus seeds for him which she didn't do for jc).
Then there was him standing up for him on NUMEROUS occasions throughout the book. Such as before the LP Massacre. He could have let his mother beat wwx senseless, but he tried to stop her from doing so, begging and crying even for her to stop and take the punishment for him. Despite the risk it took to do so.
Not to mention the excuses he made to the rest of the cw after the war when he stood up for wwx and shrugged off his casual and overly familiar demeanour.
Then ofc there was the sacrifice he made for wwx (which he didn't have to do as the only male sect heir) whilst they were on the run from the Wens that ultimately led up to the events in the novel..
The Cloud Recesses era.. the part after jfm gave away his dogs and jc steadily welcomed wwx in his life, willing to scare away any dogs that threatened him..
These are all things a nasty, homophobic rich man would NEVER do for his servant if he only saw them as such.
If he was classist as you all seem to think he is, then he would never dream of doing all the above CANON EVENTS for wwx's sake. Js.
These were all in the book. To ignore them, that means you are ignoring mxtx's work and you clearly did not understand the complicated relationship wwx and jc had.
Because it was made clear throughout the text that jc never saw him as a servant. They shared a room, went to school together and made HUGE sacrifices for eachother. So much so, that their relationship pissed of jc's mother.
If you ignore that then you are ignoring a VERY IMPORTANT part of the text. And I have to wonder if y'all only came into the fandom for the mlm relationship between wwx and lwj and not the the story. Clearly, y'all are selectively ignoring some very IMPORTANT facts. Js. This book is MORE than just a bl........
And if that's the case, then you have no place arguing jc canon facts. Js.
