Omg I love your goddess and captain sassypants fics and drabbles so much!! I especially love sweet Carl with little fart it’s so fucking cute 😭😭
I’ve also been wondering how do you think captain sassypants would react to another hero trying to steal his villain or even another hero flirting with her? 😭
Aw, thank you for loving them as much as I do. Carl is a sweetheart. (Even though he's the minion of the evilest villain in history.😅)
So, I imagine this takes place between G & CSP (2) & G & CSP (3)
Tumblr media
Captain America and you are fighting another epic battle. (In reality, you throw grapes at him and he tries to catch them with his mouth).
"Captain! Stark said you are in trouble and that you got into a fight with a villain!"
"Uh-" Steve chokes on a grape while trying to think of a lie. You insisted on fighting with fruits today, and he's not sure if this counts as a fight. He coughs and looks at Thor who swings his hammer.
"Hey, who's that?" You cock your head to look the newly arrived hero up and down. "Is he serious about that costume?"
Steve chuckles at your attitude. "That's Thor," he points at Thor. "Thor, this is Goddess, my archenemy."
"Archenemy?" Thor cocks a brow. He steps closer, ready to join the fight. "Hello, Goddess. I'm Thor, God of Thunder. Be prepared to lose this battle."
You grin as Steve squares his jaw. He doesn't like the way Thor looks at you. "I've got this."
Tumblr media
"Let me lend you a hand, Captain," Thor purrs and steps closer to you. "A pretty dame like you shouldn't turn toward the dark side. Let me help you find the light."
Steve gapes as you hold out your hand to shake Thor's offered hand. He grunts and grips his shield tight enough to let his knuckles turn white.
Tumblr media
"Like hell, blondie," you cackle manically before snapping your fingers. Thor shouts in surprise as you send him flying. He ends up crashing into a nearby car. "Aw, how about you call Starkie? You'll make such a sweet couple pinned to a car."
Steve sighs. Relieved. You're not into Thor. "Thor, you should head back. Tell them I've got this. Goddess, let him go."
"Only because I want to beat you today," you flick your wrist to send Thor back to where he came from. He crashes into another car, surprised by your powers and grace.
"Goddess!" Steve gives you a stern look.
"Aw, my archenemy wants to play," you snicker and imitate his hero pose. "Come and get some." You grab the bowl with grapes. "Now, let's see if you can catch twenty at once, Captain Sassypants."

SCRAP SPOTLIGHT!
Here are a few long scraps with no Tony, or Tony as a minor character
Tumblr media
Tossed in the box by: celtic7irish
Prompt: SHIELD has a childcare center for employees with children. Sometimes when the Avengers have time they will stop by and play with the kids. Thor and Steve love it the most.
WIP:
“Why?” Tony demanded petulantly. “Why do they make us go to these things? I have stuff to do. Important stuff.” He was still grumbling under his breath as he stalked away, heading towards the place where his armor was stored so he could head back to the Avengers Tower.
Steve rolled his eyes as he watched the other man walk away, not in any particular hurry to return to New York. There wasn’t anything that needed his immediate attention, and Sam had already informed him that he’d be out of town for a week visiting family, which meant that while JARVIS would continue to monitor for signs of the Winter Soldier, the search was more or less on hold for the moment.
Phil appeared down one of the building’s corridors, and Steve nodded to him in acknowledgment. The other man smiled at him in return. “Agent Barton, Agent Romanov,” he said. The two SHIELD agents peeled off from the group to go with the new Director, leaving Steve, Bruce, and Thor to continue their way down the hallway.
“Doctor Banner?” Steve asked, turning around to walk backwards so he could see the other man. He trusted Thor to warn him before he ran into a wall or something. The older man smiled nervously at him.
“Yes, Steve?” he asked in that quiet voice of his.
“You’re not going with Stark?” Steve asked, still not comfortable calling the eccentric genius billionaire by his first name. With Bruce, it was just a matter of respect, and both Clint and Natasha had given him permission to use their first names. Thor had always introduced himself as just Thor, and calling him Mr. Odinson just felt weird. But Stark and Banner both made Steve uncomfortable for different reasons, so until he adjusted or they insisted, he’d continue to call them by their last names, at least out loud.
Bruce shook his head. “Ah, no. Director Fury asked me to take a look at a couple of things,” he explained, grimacing faintly. Steve nodded sympathetically, offering up the promise of a ride home after he was done. Bruce smiled at him gratefully and accepted before allowing two of Fury’s agents to lead him off somewhere, probably to a lab.
That just left Steve and Thor in the new SHIELD Headquarters. Since he was Bruce’s ride home, Steve planned on hanging around as long as it took the other man to finish. But that didn’t mean that he had to just sit around and twiddle his thumbs while he waited. He glanced back at Thor, who was grinning widely, his mind obviously in the same place. “Kids?” he asked lightly.
The prince nodded eagerly. “The children,” he agreed earnestly, lengthening his stride. Steve chuckled as he picked up his own pace. It was a little-known fact that SHIELD actually provided a free daycare for its employees. Most agents didn’t have families, or kept them separate from work, but there were a few – mostly technicians and white collar workers – who had children that came to work with them, either because they were a single-parent household, or because both parents worked and they opted to use SHIELD’s childcare rather than rely on private childcare.
The daycare was kept in a separate building from headquarters, and it was well-protected, even from the Avengers. Steve patiently waited as the guards verified their identities and ran them through retinal scans. Glancing to the side, he could tell that Thor was itching to just summon his hammer to him – there was no better proof that he was the god of thunder than that, and he knew it – but he subsided after a moment and submitted to the same tests, sharing a rueful smile with Steve when he caught the other man’s gaze.

Soulmate AU with first words on skin; Steve/Bucky, Bucky/Natasha, Steve/Bucky/Natasha, Natasha/[female character]
Steve Rogers is a huge fan of The Winter Soldier, the rock band fronted by mercurial rockstar frontman James Barnes.
Steve Rogers is also one of a mere handful of people to have two soulmates, their first words to him written across his scapula and down his spine.
Barnes is married to Russian fashion designer, former ballerina and model, Natasha Romanov, who might just be the most beautiful woman in the world.
Steve meets Barnes when he sneaks backstage at a Winter Soldier concert and helps coax Barnes through a panic attack.
They word-match - “I can’t breathe… I can’t breathe… I can’t breathe…” and “It’s alright… You'll be alright… It’s alright…”
The next morning, Steve word-matches to Natasha Romanov - “I don’t think I can thank you enough Mr Rogers.” and “Well, that explains a lot…”
Steve thinks he’s a platonic match to both of them, as they’re happily married, right?
Bucky thinks Steve’s straight
Bucky is “bearding” Natasha, who’s really dating [person], her PA, as her being a lesbian would be detrimental to her career in the fashion industry
She and Bucky are platonic matches, but they talk up their being word-matches - “[words]” and “[words]” - to the press
Steve and Bucky pine over each other for [time]; Natasha makes them see sense.

Prompt: Steve’s bed has jersey fabric sheets and down pillows with plenty of microfiber blankets tossed around. He hates being cold and cramped while he sleeps ever since the ice. He sometimes finds other members of his team sleeping in it because it’s just so comfy. He has yet to kick anyone out.
WIP:
Clint
Clint was first. Steve felt that he should have been more surprised than he was when he found the archer curled up in a tiny ball, burrowed under a pile of warm fabric sheets and microfiber blankets on Steve’s bed. The blonde knew that the other man hadn’t been sleeping well, too anxious and guilty to accept comfort when it was offered. He lived here, in Avengers Tower, only because Fury had insisted. Given a choice, Steve rather suspected that the team’s sniper would have preferred a cold, cramped jail cell to the lush accommodations provided for them by Tony Stark.
Steve knew something about guilt, about surviving when others died, when the people you loved the most were taken from you. Still, perhaps he wasn’t the best person to understand this, to understand how it must feel to help destroy everything you believed in, to betray everyone you had ever cared for. No matter how many times Natasha, or Thor – or even the miraculously revived Coulson – told Clint that it hadn’t been his fault, that Loki’s spell was too powerful for anyone to break on their own, he didn’t believe them.
And so he spent his days wandering aimlessly through the tower’s ventilation system, eating little and sleeping even less. Even Natasha was starting to show the strain of worrying for her teammate and best friend. And Phil Coulson was out on another run with his other team, tracking down metahumans and trying to hold the frayed remnants of SHIELD together with grudging cooperation from the United States military, so he couldn’t be there to make sure the archer ate and slept and did all those things that normal people did, like bathe and watch television and hang out with friends and family.
So when Steve found the archer asleep in his bed, he stood in the doorway for a long moment, just watching him with something that felt like relief. His bed was an oversized mess of jersey fabric and flannel and microfiber blankets. The pillows were made of down and covered in the same material, soft and warm. He still woke, sometimes, from dreams of ice and snow and falling and drowning, and on those nights, it helped to be buried under a warm pile of soft blankets. There was even a blanket that could be heated up, like an electric blanket, but better, because Tony had made it, and it didn’t have to be plugged in. That had been a surprise, but one that Steve was nonetheless grateful for. Maybe one day, he’d be able to tell Tony what it meant to him to have that without the other man attempting to derail the conversation by picking a fight or fleeing the room.
Once he was satisfied that Clint wasn’t currently trapped in a nightmare, he turned around and left on silent feet. He could crash in the sitting room on the couch for a couple of hours.
Bruce
Steve was pretty sure that Bruce’s presence in his bed was an accident. They’d had a hard battle, against numerous enemies, and the Hulk had been called upon to fight. They had won, but there had been casualties. Clint and Natasha were both in SHIELD medical, Coulson watching over them to make sure they didn’t try to sneak out. Tony had disappeared into his workshop as soon as he’d arrived back at the Tower, pale and grim-faced. No doubt he’d be down there for hours yet, working on the Iron Man armor, designing new, better weapons, and reinforcing the team’s uniforms. Tony took every injury his teammates suffered as a sign of his own personal failings, never mind that the team was safer and better protected now than they’d ever been.
Bruce had collapsed in the Quinjet on the ride home, exhaustion winning out over his anxiety. No humans had been killed – though a couple of cars were probably going to end up being insurance write-offs – and so Bruce had allowed himself the brief respite. When they’d landed at the Tower, he’d stumbled off the Quinjet, nearly face-planting on the hangar floor before Sam had managed to grab him and help him inside. They’d parted ways, then, and Steve had headed for the gym. He probably should have written up his report first, but he was having trouble focusing. A few rounds with the reinforced gym bags would hopefully settle him a bit.
It was nearly three hours later when Steve stepped out of the shower, clean and relaxed enough that he figured he could get his report done before dinnertime. Tony was still down in the workshop, so he figured he’d probably have to go get the genius at some point, but it wasn’t like he didn’t understand. Hell, on the really bad days, Steve would run himself into the ground, pushing himself far past his limits in the hope that he’d just make himself tired enough to forget, even if only for a few hours.

ive times worried:( five times the receiver worried about the sender )
Five Times
-------------------------------------
( @shieldagentnatasharomanoff )
1.) 2012- New York.
Tumblr media
Amelia was still not sure if she managed to survive this, if she would even have a job after this. The World Security Council gave strict orders they were not to interfere, but to paraphrase the impromptu speech she gave Director Fury, nuts to that.
Of course, now being in New York, well, it was easy to almost get overwhelmed. Especially when your arm is almost bit off by one of those aliens until it was flung away thanks to Cap’s shield.
Thanks to that injury, Amelia mainly was helping first responders with evacuating and rescuing people away from the fray. Mentally, Amelia was taking note of the heroes—obviously, there was Captain America, Hulk could be heard roaring along with the aliens, Iron Man was flying around, a loud crack of thunder from Thor’s hammer, and thanks to an arrow taking out one of the aliens that popped out in front of her while Amelia was carrying a child, that meant Hawkeye was still alive.
But what about the Black Widow?
Amelia handed the child off to his mother, and she glanced back at the battlefield, catching her breath. It was surreal, almost something out of a sci-fi movie. Her eyes darted around, looking for the redhead but still not seeing any sight of her.
Please say she was okay.
Granted, Amelia did not know the infamous Black Widow, other than hushed rumors amongst S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and proud stories told her by Coulson. Most of Romanoff’s file was classified, above her clearance. But yet, that’s not why Amelia worried. It wasn’t the fact she was probably one of the deadliest women in the world, one of the most imposing agents S.H.I.E.L.D. ever had, but Natasha was important to Coulson. And that was all the reason she needed to care. She was important to Coulson; she couldn’t bear it if something happened to her, too. Amelia stumbled as she continued on, herding people and trying to get them out of harm’s way.
Please don’t die. Please—you and Barton—please. You two have to make it. Please.
2.) 2013- Chicago.
Tumblr media
Having stopped a human trafficking ring, the Avengers were ‘quietly’ celebrating their latest victory. Natasha and Amelia were at the bar while Thor and Clint were throwing darts, Steve was talking with a group of four Iraqi war vets, one who wanted their picture with him to show their younger brother back home, and Tony and Bruce were animatedly discussing the new experiment they were working on.
Nat caught on to Amelia being all moony-eyed over Steve. There was some light teasing over her not-so-subtle crush.
Amelia couldn’t tell her if her cheeks were red from blushing or from the alcohol.
“No, I’m not telling him,” Amelia hissed, now staring down at her half-empty glass, wishing she could just disappear. “Look, I… He’s… I mean, come on. He’s a superhero, Nat. It wouldn’t… He’s out of my league,” she argued.
She knew Natasha meant well, telling her that it would be better to find out than to always wonder. Amelia weakly smiled as she felt the redhead pat her on the shoulder and stood up.
“Yeah, well…” Amelia’s voice trailed off as she kept her gaze on her glass before sipping her cocktail. She winced and choked on her drink suddenly as she heard Natasha loudly call Steve’s name.
Amelia turned on her stool, glaring at the redhead. “Romanoff!”
3.) 2014- Washington, D.C.
Tumblr media
Amelia felt her blood run cold as she heard the Captain’s voice over the PA system. No. It couldn’t… The very thought of Hydra in S.H.I.E.L.D. was enough to both make her terrified and sick.
Her objective was clear. She had to help Steve—and wherever Steve was, she knew Natasha would be there, too. She just had to find them.
There were a couple close calls, especially when Amelia came face-to-face with her ex-boyfriend…who, as it turned out, was with Hydra all along. Still, Amelia managed to find Steve and Maria and—well, okay, she did not know the third person, but—
“Captain Rogers, where’s Nat?” Amelia asked, panic creeping in on the edge of her voice.
“She’s on her own mission. Come on, we got to keep moving,” Maria answered.
Amelia kept silent as she went with them, but still, the S.H.I.E.L.D. was anxious about her friend. Natasha was the strongest woman she knew—and Amelia was convinced she was the strongest in the universe—and she had complete faith in the Black Widow’s skills, but until she saw her again at the end of all of this, the worry was going to gnaw at her gut like a dog with its favorite bone.
4.) 2016- Wakanda.
Tumblr media
“SHURI!”
The name barely left Amelia’s lips before the princess was just…gone. Nothing but dust. She stayed behind with Shuri and Vision while the others left for the battlefield. She had been debating with the younger woman after they were ambushed. They were arguing, and then suddenly, an errie feeling settled over them, and before Amelia could do anything, Shuri was gone.
Amelia was in shock. Her hands were shaking as she stumbled over, her knees almost buckling. “I… Wilson! Wilson, I need back-up now!” she hoarsely ordered over the comm, figuring he could reach them the fastest.
“…”
There was silence.
Her heart skipped a beat. “Wilson! Answer me!” she snapped, but Amelia was just greeted with more silence. She almost felt like she forgot to breathe. No. No. No, no. This…couldn’t be happening…
“Wanda!”
“…”
Her throat burned as she now fell down, her heart pounding wildly inside her chest. Tears were welling up in her eyes. “Barnes?” Her voice cracked on his name.
“…”
Her chest tightened, and it hurt to honestly keep breathing. She knew she was having a panic attack, but that knowledge was little help to her right now as she kept getting greeted with more silence.
“Romanoff?”
“…”
“Nat, talk to me!”
“…”
“NATASHA!”
5.) 2023- New York.
Tumblr media
“Does-Does this look okay?” Amelia stammered, fidgeting anxiously with the cuffs of the sleeves on her red dress.
In Natasha’s defense, it was the tenth time the brunette asked her today. For the first time since the infamous battle against Thanos, the Avengers were coming together for Christmas. And after everything that happened with the past five years, especially the last battle, Amelia finally decided to tell Steve how she felt.
Amelia knew she was probably annoying the redhead, but she couldn’t help it. She was nervous. Despite Natasha’s assurances that everything would be fine, she couldn’t help but fret over her upcoming confession.
“You’re going to be close by, right?...”
“Right? You’re not—You’re going to be there, right, Nat?”
“Nat?”

“Do you want to feel it kick?” For Thor
Thor hummed and leaned over, smiling at Steve. “Of course I do, Steven.” He agreed, moving and lightly placing his hand where the other blond indicated, his blue eyes widening at the feeling of little feet against his hand. “Why, hello, little one.” @heroesofbr00klyn

Proving a Point
Word count: 5100
Warnings: Insecure reader, otherwise fluffy
This is based on a Prompt from an anon asking for a reader who has had bad experiences with being tickled. My good friend JJ wrote for the same prompt a short time ago (if you haven't read her fic Trust you should do that!) I wanted to take this in a different direction to avoid writing basically the same thing she wrote. Incidentally, she also gave me the plot idea for this fic 😊 so thanks @writingfics-passingtime ! 💚
Tumblr media
Anyone who knew you knew that you took pride in being a hardened, tough-as-nails agent of SHIELD.
You were young for your status. Most agents took at least four or five more years to get to where you were in the ranks of SHIELD. It was your grit and determination that helped you sail through the training and certifications to get you where you wanted to be. You had a goal in mind – to take up a position on the elite Avengers team once you’d risen through the ranks.
And that you did.
It hadn't taken long for them to begin to notice you. When Steve had approached you one day during a drill session, you'd accepted his invitation to join the team without hesitation. Before you knew it, you were moving into the tower with the other Avengers, ready to find your place on the team.
Being the newest and the youngest, you knew you had to work to prove yourself worthy of the 'Avenger' title. You refused to shy away from any sparring match, no matter who your opponent may be. Which is how you found yourself pitted up against the God of Thunder on this one particular afternoon.
“Are you prepared to spar, young agent?” Thor asked as you approached the sparring arena. You cringed a bit at the nickname. He meant well, you knew. But you were already so self-conscious about being the youngest on the team, to have someone point it out to you so casually stung a bit. Although, in comparison to Thor, most of the Avengers were incredibly young.
“Don’t go easy on me now,” you warned teasingly, twisting your torso side to side to stretch out a bit and warm up. When you turned to your left, you noticed a certain brooding Asgardian standing across the room, his piercing blue-green eyes fixed on the pair of you. The pair of you were close friends, but there was a part of you that desired to be a bit more than that. Knowing Loki was watching you fight, with his brother no less, made your heart rate tick up a bit. Shifting uncomfortably, you felt your face begin to warm as you returned your focus to the older brother standing in front of you.
“No weaponry in this fight – only hand-to-hand combat,” Thor reminded you as he ducked into a fighting stance.
"When do I ever fight with a weapon? You’re the one hiding behind your hammer all the time,” you shot back with a smirk. Thor laughed heartily.
“Oh-ho! Are you trying to provoke me, agent?”
You shrugged. “Just stating the facts.”
“That’s enough chatting, I think. Let’s spar, shall we?”
You shifted to a fighting stance, knees slightly bent, hands held protectively in front of your chin. Thor nodded to you expectantly, urging you to make the first move. Using your smaller stature and speed to your advantage, you charged at the blond-haired god, ducking below his arm as he reached for you and sweeping your leg around to strike the backs of his ankles. He toppled over backwards, landing flat on his back against the mats. Rising to his feet, he grinned at you approvingly. Even though you were fighting against each other, Thor always made certain to let you know when you were doing something right. You suspected it was the big brother in him.
Bracing yourself, you dug your heels into the mat in preparation to go on the defensive, knowing Thor would try to counterattack. Sure enough, he suddenly barreled toward you, aiming to tackle you to the floor. Predicting his move, you swiftly dove to the side just as he was grabbing for you, causing him to stumble forward and nearly fall over once again. You took the opportunity to jump up on his back, throwing your arms around his neck and putting him in a headlock. Shouting in surprise, Thor reached behind himself blindly to pull you off him. His hands found your ribs and squeezed, and you let go of him with a surprised yelp, your feet landing hard against the mats as you stumbled backward.
Thor spun around to face you, a mischievous spark in his eye not unlike his younger sibling. Your stomach dropped, but you kept a straight face, hoping maybe he hadn’t…
“Agent! I had no idea you were ticklish!”
… noticed.
“I-I don’t know what you mean, Thor,” you argued, crouching in your fighting stance and motioning for him to do the same. You hoped to gloss over it, to move forward in hopes that he’d forget about what he’d just learned about you in the heat of a match.
You jumped back on the offensive, lunging forward and aiming a blow toward his gut. But you were distracted now, and your form was sloppy, offering Thor an easy opportunity to catch your fist in his massive hand and jerk you toward him before tackling you to the ground. Desperately, you grappled with him as he caught hold of your wrists, pinning them to the mats above your head. Your heart thrummed in your chest, recognizing exactly where this was going, and there was nothing you could do about it.
“Thor! Let me up!” you demanded, a nervous waver laced into your voice.
“You told me not to go easy on you! I can’t just let you go, you’ll have to break free on your own.” He shot you a cheeky wink before shifting to pin your wrists with one hand, his other hovering over your underarm.
“THOR! I swear to your gods, I’ll – hahahaha nohohoho!” He wriggled just one finger in the very center of your underarm, and the effect was immediate – you were bursting with those childish giggles you’d been hoping to hide.
“Go on, fight your way out then,” he urged, a broad grin on his face as he hovered over you. You kicked at his stomach and twisted to try to free your wrists, succeeding in making him switch to scratch underneath your other arm. With another hard kick, you were able to get him to release your wrists, rolling over and scrambling to your feet with your hands held protectively in front of you.
"Ahalright, you've had your fun, Thor," you warned, trying to sound nonchalant but still with a finality in your tone that said 'cut it out.' "Nobody's gonna do that to me in the battlefield - let's work on some real skills, hmm?"
Thor let out a boisterous laugh. "You never know, young agent!" He returned to stand in front of you in a fighting stance, ready to begin another round. Thankfully, that was the last time he brought it up during the match.
It wasn’t that you didn’t like being tickled. At one point in your life, you actually sort of enjoyed the playfulness and closeness of it. But you were the youngest of four siblings. Once you’d hit a certain age, you began to feel as if everyone saw you as a little kid, that you’d never be able to step into your adolescence and, later, your adulthood. What made matters worse was your siblings liked to pick on you. Often, they would gang up on you, hold you down and tickle you while they teased you for being such a baby. They were siblings being siblings - you knew they didn't have malicious intent. Your relationship was much better now that you were grown and didn’t live under the same roof. But the damage was already done – you began to associate the fact that you were still so ticklish with being weak, childish.
You never intended for the team to learn of your ticklishness. You had a tough reputation to keep, which would be exceedingly difficult if you were giggling like a little kid while one of your fellow teammates tickled you senseless. But you also didn’t want Thor to think it upset you – that, too, would only demonstrate weakness; not to mention, it wouldn’t be entirely true.
You asked to wrap up a bit earlier than you normally would have. It wasn't as though you were tired, you were just feeling a bit mentally drained thinking about the events from earlier. After one last quick sparring match, you called it quits, getting ready to leave the gym and get cleaned up.
"Excellent fighting today, agent!" Thor praised, patting you hard on the shoulder.
"Thanks, you too!" you responded politely.
"Next time I'll try not to accidentally tickle you, hmm?" He reached over and playfully pinched your side, making you jump and yelp as your face began to heat up once again.
"Aheh, yeah, you should try to be careful next time..." You bade him a quick goodbye, walking more speedily than usual out the door so you could get out of that damned room and hide your face in your bedroom. To make matters worse, you caught Loki's eye as you scooted out the door. He raised one eyebrow, eyeing you curiously. You broke away from his gaze and scurried out the door, mortified to think he'd seen that whole scene play out.
You spent most of the rest of the evening in your room, emerging briefly to grab a quick bite to eat for dinner before bringing it back to your sanctuary. You just couldn't bring yourself to show your face, knowing how many people had seen you looking weak earlier in the gym.
It was late in the evening before you finally wandered out to the common room. You knew it'd be empty this time of night, and you knew it would be difficult to sleep tonight if you didn't get out of your room for at least a little while before bed. Sinking exasperatedly into the couch cushions, you scooped up the remote and turned on the television, beginning to channel surf for a decent program.
“Are you going to tell me what’s wrong?”
You glanced up at the door at the smooth, baritone voice, eyes landing on Loki standing a couple feet inside the doorway. His gaze was fixed on you, a resolute look on his face that said, ‘you aren’t getting out of this one.’ With a groan, you aimed the remote at the television and flipped it off, turning your full attention to your interrogator.
“Who said anything was wrong?”
“Honestly, agent, it’s as though you think I don’t know you well enough by now,” he chided, striding into the room to take a seat beside you on the sofa. “You may have fooled everyone else in the training room today, but I saw how quickly you rushed out of there after sparring with my brother, and I haven’t seen you since. Now, either you were suddenly violently ill, or you were upset about something. So, I’ll ask you again – are you going to tell me what’s wrong?”
You averted your gaze, staring down at your hands in your lap as you fiddled with your fingers absentmindedly. “It’s embarrassing.”
“Try me.”
You barked out a humorless laugh. “Try you? The God of Mischief, king of manipulating people’s embarrassing traits?”
He ducked to meet your gaze, his blue-green eyes wide and bright. “Have you ever known me to purposely try to embarrass you in a cruel way?”
“… no.” You sighed, turning your head to continue avoiding his gaze. “You saw what happened, you should know what’s wrong. I saw you watching me spar with Thor today.”
“You’re referring to when he tickled you.”
Your face burned at his bluntness. When you found you couldn’t respond verbally, you simply nodded.
“Is that why you’re upset? Did my brother overstep his boundaries? It wouldn’t be the first time…”
“No, no, that’s not… no. He didn’t overstep.” You took a slow breath in and out, giving yourself a moment to try to figure out how best to explain. “I’m not… upset with him. It’s not that I don’t like it… it’s just… it’s not exactly a characteristic shared by many strong, brave heroes, now, is it? It makes me look weak, childish.”
Loki chuckled a bit. “You don’t believe you can be a strong fighter and also just happen to be a bit ticklish?”
The heat in your face intensified. “Not just a bit…” you mumbled.
“Either way, I still think you’re being rather critical of yourself. It’s absurd to think that you believe yourself to be lesser than any of the others just because you’re ticklish.”
Loki knew you didn’t like to be treated as though you were fragile, especially when you were already feeling down on yourself to begin with. He wasn’t going to try to be gentle with you, because he knew it would only make you feel even weaker. But you couldn’t help but get a bit riled up at his words.
“How could you possibly understand?” you demanded. “I grew up with three older siblings. They always made me feel like a child.”
“I understand much more than you think, believe me.”
“Why? Because you had an older brother?”
“Yes, and because I’m also ticklish.”
You snorted. “No, you’re not. You’re just trying to make me feel better.”
“You don’t believe me?” Loki raised his dark eyebrows, his expression completely serious. You squinted at him, trying to find the hint of a lie in his face.
“You are pretty good at lying, Loki. Can you blame me for thinking you’re not telling the truth?”
Suddenly, Loki snatched both your hands from your lap in his own, causing you to squeak in surprise. He guided your hands toward himself, placing them on his ribs on either side.
“W-what are you doing?”
“You wanted proof, did you not?” He loosened his grip on your hands slightly, still pressing them to his sides. “Have at it, then.”
“Ahare you serious??” You began to giggle nervously despite yourself. “Loki, you’re just going to let me tickle you?”
“This opportunity will not present itself again. I suggest you take it.”
Your face was growing hotter by the second. Here you were, sitting with your palms pressed to Loki’s ribcage where he was holding your hands, being offered a free shot at tickling the God of Mischief. The same one who made your heart flutter whenever you were around him, who made you feel weak in the knees when he said your name in that velvety voice of his. And yet, he didn’t seem bothered by the idea in the slightest. Could he really be telling the truth?
“… where’s your weak spot, then?”
“Darling, that’s classified.” A ghost of a smirk crossed his face. “I don’t just hand that sort of information out for free.”
"Then how do I know you're even ticklish here, if you won't tell me your weak spot?"
"You haven't tried." He tilted his head, looking at you expectantly. "I'm waiting."
"Well... oh my god this is crazy... alright, then, if you insist."
You looked Loki in the eye and contracted your fingertips once into his ribcage. He twitched a little under your fingers but didn't make a sound, raising his eyebrow at you.
"You're going to have to do better than that, agent."
"Ugh, Loki!" You threw your hands over your face for a moment, pressing your cool fingers against your burning cheeks. You heard Loki snicker at you a little.
"Clearly you need to be desensitized to this, if you're this embarrassed at the prospect of tickling me."
"Alright, alright! I'm gonna do it." You shakily replaced your hands on his ribs where he'd placed them before, pulling your bottom lip between your teeth as you began to actually knead your fingers into his ribs.
He didn't laugh, but his hands did shoot instinctively to your wrists, and you could tell it was taking at least some effort for him not to shove your hands away. Encouraged by the fact that he was at least reacting to your touch, you began to experiment a bit, allowing one hand to travel up his ribcage to scratch underneath his arm.
"I don't hear you laughing, Loki," you observed teasingly, noting that his arm dropped down to his side to block your tickling fingers when you pinched at his uppermost ribs.
"M-maybe you're not trying hard enough," he retorted. With a glare, you shifted your other hand suddenly to claw into his belly, feeling his hand squeeze tighter around your wrist. You brought your other hand down to join the first, skittering your fingers around his belly while you watched his reaction. A smile was breaking through his serious façade, and you noticed he jolted a bit harder when your fingers neared his waistline.
"Could I have discovered your weak spot?" you asked, suddenly digging your thumbs into his hips. He shook his head no, but could no longer hold back his laughter. It was a surprisingly bright sound, rather rapid, deep, rolling giggles flowing from his mouth.
"Ahall right, eheh, that's ehenough of thahat," he insisted, finally making an actual effort to push your hands away. You stopped, not wanting to overstep, given he'd so willingly allowed you to just do all that. "Nohow then - do you think me to be a weak, childish creature?"
"Hmm..." Admittedly, this whole interaction was actually making you feel a bit better. Playful, even. You shot him a sly smirk. "I don't know, Loki... you were giggling like a little kid just now..."
His jaw slackened in mock offense, eyes narrowing at your cheeky grin. "I go out of my way to make you feel better, and this is the thanks I get?"
You shrugged. "Just giving my opinion."
Loki stared at you, unblinking for a moment before his lips curled into a smirk. "Well, then, I suppose we'll need more evidence to prove your point."
"Wha-AHH wahahait noho!" You burst into giggles as his fingers latched onto your sides, gently squeezing and kneading into your torso. You wrapped your arms protectively around your waist, though it was useless now that he'd already slipped past your defenses. He wriggled his thumbs into the sides of your belly while continuing to scratch lightly at your sides. You knew he was being gentle on purpose, not making an effort to hold you down or restrain you in any way to make you feel incapacitated, just trying to draw laughter out of you. You fell backward onto the couch cushions, but he didn't follow you, instead opting to grab hold of your ankle where it rested by his hip and flutter his fingers along the sole of your foot.
"You dare to call me childish after I so benevolently allowed you to tickle me unhindered?" His fingertips flitted along the arch of your foot, settling just above your heel where you'd suddenly jerked to pull your ankle from his grasp. "I think it's only fair you offer me the same courtesy."
"Lohoki let goho of my foot!!" you demanded, hands fumbling around by your hips where they rested against the couch. Your hand found his shin where it rested on the sofa, his leg slightly bent so his foot was underneath your own legs with the way he'd turned to attack you. Swiftly, you slid your hand down along his shin and found his socked foot, scribbling desperately into his sole.
"YOHOU little rahascal!" He jerked his leg away from your reach, releasing your ankle and allowing you to sit up a bit. A wide grin spread across your face.
"That's your spot, isn't it?"
"Nope." He smirked. "You seem so desperate to know, for someone who finds this to be such a childish little game."
"Maybe I just want to know how I can incapacitate the mighty God of Mischief."
"Is that a threat, agent?"
Loki suddenly adjusted to kneel on the sofa in front of you, wasting little time in clawing into your belly. You threw your head back and burst into laughter, batting uselessly at his hands. He was hovering over you, but he wasn’t using force to hold you down - he merely shifted his tickling fingers to a new spot on your belly the moment you began to succeed in wriggling your way out from underneath him. It was unbearably ticklish, but you found you were having fun with this playful, yet kind side of the mischievous object of your affections.
He paused his torment, allowing you a moment to breathe. You seized the opportunity to curl yourself up into a ball, your knees pressed to your chest protectively to block any more access to your belly.
“Have I proven my point yet? That this does not make you weak?” he urged. You ignored his question - afraid this little game might end if you admitted that maybe you didn’t mind it so much.
“Did Thor used to do this to you when you were kids?” you asked facetiously. “That must have been adorable to watch.”
His eyes widened in surprise at your cheeky comment, letting out a mischievous laugh. “Agent, you are simply asking for me to tickle you.” You felt your face heat up at the mere threat, and this time, Loki took notice. “Oh? Am I flustering you?”
“Loki!” you whined, hiding your face against your knees.
“I’m beginning to think I’m doing you a favor, agent. Clearly you’ve not been adequately exposed to such frivolity in your adult life, if the mere idea of it flusters you so much.” You shrieked as his fingers found the space under your arms, recklessly exposed while your hands were wrapped around your knees.
“HEHEHEY!!” You burst into helpless laughter, clamping your arms down over his hands. Undeterred by the restricted motion, he simply wriggled his fingertips deeper and faster into the soft skin of your underarms, grinning as you leaned sideways against the back of the couch in ticklish agony.
“Perhaps I’ll just tickle you whenever you decide to try to get under my skin. It may be inappropriate for me to threaten others with my daggers, but this is perfectly reasonable. I see it as a ‘win-win’ situation.”
“Ihi will CUT YOHOU!!” you threatened through your desperate giggles.
“That’s quite rude of you - I’ve been nothing but helpful this entire time,” Loki teased, squeezing and pinching rapidly up and down your ribcage while you shrieked in half-hearted protest. “Although, I suppose the fact that you’re still bold enough to continue to threaten me only serves to help prove my point.”
He stopped to give you another reprieve again, and you immediately took the opportunity to turn the tables, kneading the muscle above his knees with your thumbs and index fingers.
“Noho, none of that,” he scolded, grasping your hands in his to prevent you from tickling him. “Now, will you please admit to me that you are not childish for being so devastatingly ticklish?”
You narrowed your eyes at him playfully at his selected adjective. “Not until you tell me your weak spot.”
“I told you, I don’t give that information out for free.”
“It isn’t for free. It’s in return for my willingness to humor you and agree with your point.”
He let out a breathy laugh through his nose, shaking his head. “It’s going to cost you more than that.”
“Oh? And what, pray tell, is the cost, then?”
Loki thought for a moment, a smirk slowly spreading across his face. “In addition to your admission to the fact that you are not weak… come out to breakfast with me tomorrow morning.”
Your eyes widened, startled (and unfathomably flustered) by his request. “L-like… a date?”
“If you feel the need to put a label on it, then… yes. A date.” His smirk widened as he watched you becoming more flustered by the second, but there was something more in his eyes now… something you could only describe as hope and excitement.
“Well…”
“Hang on, I wasn’t finished.” He held a hand up to stop you from responding. “You also have to tell me your weak spot.”
“What?! How is that a fair price! You get three things and I only get one?”
He shrugged nonchalantly. “This is valuable information I’m offering you. No one knows my weak spot.” He winked, making your cheeks flare up with heat once more. “Besides - arguably, my second request benefits you as much as it does me, does it not?”
“You are insufferable,” you groaned, but you were unable to wipe the smile from your face.
“Am I wrong in making such assumptions?”
“… no.” You hid your face in your hands, peering at him through your fingers as he tilted his head to urge you to respond. “Ughh… fine. I’ll tell you.”
“You agree to all terms?”
“Yes. But only if you hold up your end of the bargain, AND you have to at least give me a minute to test if you're telling the truth without fighting me.”
“Of course." He gazed at you expectantly, without another word. You shot him a puzzled look, then realization dawned on you that he was waiting for you to go first. Immediately, you began to protest.
"Wait a minute - why do I have to tell you first?! Aren't I the more trustworthy of the two of us here?"
"Your lack of faith wounds me, darling. Not to mention, you can always back out of breakfast if I don't hold up my end of the deal."
He had you there. The bastard.
"Ughhh, you're damn lucky I like you, Loki." Heart already racing in anticipation, you took his hands in yours and slowly guided them to rest on your hips. "J-just... you can't laugh at my reaction, alright?"
"I wouldn't dream of it," he insisted, an amused smile already crossing his face. With one last cheeky wink, he began to dig his thumbs into your hips. You squeaked, rather loudly in fact, before dissolving into high-pitched frenzied laughter. Loki's grin only widened at the sound. "That was endearing."
"YOHOU PROHOHOMISED!!" you scolded, slapping at his hands. He merely increased the pace, squeezing his fingertips into the spots just above your hips on your sides while toggling his thumbs in tiny circles by your hipbones. As he had been throughout the entirety of this little game, he made no effort to pin you in place or make you feel helpless in any way. There was always an exit if you chose to take it. You simply chose not to.
"Now then - please just admit you are no weaker than anyone else living in this tower," he insisted, shifting up to knead at your sides to allow you the ability to respond. You nodded frantically, giggles lowering to a more reasonable decibel.
"Ihi admihihit it! I'm nohohot weak!"
"Thank you." His hands left your sides, allowing you to come down from your giggle fit. "Honestly - was that so difficult?"
"Yep... but it'll be totally worth it when you finally tell me your weak spot." You grinned flirtatiously, taking pride in the fact that you noticed a slight dusting of red on his cheeks in response to your teasing. "Go on, then. Tell me."
Loki released a heaving sigh, shaking his head as though incredulous that he was actually about to provide you this little fact about himself. "Understand, agent, that you are privileged to be receiving such confidential information."
"I'm honored. Now stop stalling."
"Fine." Looking a bit sheepish, he turned around to face away from you. With another large rise and fall of his shoulders, he reached around behind himself and pointed to the spot right below and between his shoulder blades. "Happy?"
"Wait, really?" you asked in disbelief, placing your palm on the spot he'd pointed to. You bit your tongue to prevent yourself from laughing out loud when he nearly jumped off the sofa at the mere placement of your hand on his back. "Wow. I can't say I'd ever have figured this out."
"You have one minute, agent. I suggest you get on with it, time is ticking."
"Then I'd better not waste any more, hmm?"
You brought your other hand up to his back, scratching gently at the spot he'd indicated with all ten fingers. The sudden, loud, hysterical deep laughter he burst into took you by surprise. In all the time you'd known Loki, you'd never actually heard him laugh like this before - the sound made your heart want to burst.
"Loki, you should really laugh like this more often. It's adorable," you teased, spidering your fingers randomly between his shoulder blades. He arched his back away from your touch, but he was clearly trying his best to keep his promise not to fight back.
That is, until the minute he'd offered you was up.
"OHOKAY, THAHAT'S ENOUGH," he demanded, reaching behind himself to tickle under your arms for just a moment to make you retract your hands. You giggled for a few seconds, even after he'd stopped tickling you and turned around to face you once again. There was still a wide grin on his face.
“I hope you know I’m not forgetting that anytime soon,” you warned with a smirk.
“Likewise, agent,” he retorted, giving you a quick pinch on the hip just to make you jump. “I certainly hope you still plan to hold up the remainder of your end of the bargain.”
“Café down the street?”
“Sounds lovely.”
You scooped up the forgotten remote in your hand, glancing at Loki with a tilt of your head to ask if he wanted to watch something. He nodded, settling into his side of the sofa while you turned the television back on. When you'd finally found a channel you thought you'd both enjoy, you set the remote on the coffee table and leaned back to sit more comfortably against the back rest. The sudden feeling of Loki's hand on yours startled you. Turning to look at him, you found he was gazing at you with a fierce look in his eyes.
"I hope you know that I meant what I said. You're not weak." His normally smooth voice was thicker, laden with intensity. "You're one of the strongest mortals I know, in fact. You're... truly incredible."
You smiled shyly, squeezing his hand. "Thanks. If you keep telling me that, maybe I'll learn to believe it."
"Then I'll be certain to tell you each and every day."
You both returned your attention to the television. Loki didn't release your hand, instead lacing his fingers between yours. You decided, then, that it didn't matter what anyone else thought. Loki thought the world of you, and that mattered most.

Her eyes pooled with water as she watched her best friends in the living room of their apartment. She and Steve had been together for almost two years and everything was great, well, except for one thing – Sharon Carter, her best friend in the whole world, was in love with her boyfriend.
Both Sharon and Steve thought they were home alone. They started drinking late at night, which led them to play some games. The one being played at the moment was to tell their deep and darkest secrets. They didn’t hear her come in, so they continued playing the game. And she entered her apartment right when Sharon was exposing hers.
“Steve…” she heard Sharon say while looking at him, “I have always loved you…”
It was in that exact moment that she felt her heart break into million pieces. Sharon was one of her best friends and she trusted her with her whole life, but there was always a part in her that felt jealous of hear, even though she didn’t show it, or at least she tried not to. Having the perfect boyfriend, one of the best agents at Shield, being so beautiful and strong, and the way Steve would sometimes look at her. She had noticed it since she first joined the team. She even thought he was in love with Sharon, but those feelings went away when they finally started dating. She would sometimes feel a bit jealous of their close friendship, but she knew Steve loved her and would never leave her. Seeing Sharon professing her love for him made her feel insecure again, especially after the way Steve looked at her, as if he were ready to confess his love for her as well.
After that unexpected confession, she entered the living room, pretending she didn’t hear what had happened. The best way to deal with it was not dealing with it, or at least that was what she thought. When Steve noticed her presence, he went immediately to her arms, happy to see her home. She did hug him back, but Steve noticed something was wrong with her, especially after seeing her reject Sharon’s hug and giving her a smile instead before going back to the kitchen to make herself some coffee. He decided to speak with her once Sharon left, which happened just a few minutes later. She sensed her best friend was acting strange, so she decided to leave the couple alone and go home.
“You were acting weird” Steve said as he took another bite of the pizza they had ordered for dinner, “Did something happen at work? Was Nat too hard on you during training? She can be like that sometimes, but she doesn’t mean it.”
“I wasn’t acting strange” she answered without looking at him.
“You were. I felt it when I hugged you and then you rejected Sharon’s hug. Did I do something wrong? If I did, please tell me what it was. I hate seeing you like this.”
she sighed before finally locking eyes with her boyfriend, “You did nothing wrong, Steve. I’m just tired from training all day, nothing more.” She got up from the couch and patted his shoulder, “I’m going to bed. Goodnight, Steve.”
He didn’t even have the time to answer her, as she was already inside his bedroom, ready to go to sleep.
Once she was inside their bedroom, she took off all her clothes and picked an old t-shirt from his closet. As she laid down on the bed, she was engulfed by his scent, which was the final straw for her. The tears she had been trying to hold while she ate dinner with Steve were finally running down her cheeks and falling on the pillowcase. Why was she so insecure? Steve loved her more than anything and would never intentionally hurt her. Sharon was not a threat to their relationship, she was happily in a relationship with Frank and would never leave him. So why was she feeling so sad and insecure, afraid to lose the only person she ever truly loved? Steve entered the bedroom only a few minutes later, making her clean her wet cheeks as quick as she could before he noticed. He took off all his clothes, except his boxers, and laid next to her. As usual, he stretched his arms so they could fall asleep cuddling each other, but she immediately moved away from him.
He called her name, trying to figure out what was happening with her, but she didn’t answer him. Deciding that it was best to let her sleep, he shifted himself around, turning her back on her. And for the first time since the couple started dating, they slept with their backs to each other.
It was almost nine in the morning when Steve woke up. Luckily, the entire team had the day off, so he didn’t have to worry about going to work. He turned around, ready to meet his lover, but he only found an empty side of the bed and a note on top of her pillow.
Going off the grid for a few days. Already talked with Nat. Be back for Tony and Pepper’s wedding. I love you.
At first, he double checked the calligraphy in the note to make sure it was hers. Then, he thought it was a prank and that was gonna be waiting for him in the kitchen, but when he got up and didn’t find her there, he started to panic. Picking up his phone, he tried to call her, but she had left her phone on top of the coffee table. Next option was to call Natasha since she said in her note she had already talked with her, but her phone was off, so he got dressed and went to her apartment.
After ringing Nat’s bell for almost a minute straight, she finally opened the door, wearing a robe and yawning.
“Cap? Is everything alright?” she asked as she motioned him to come in.
“Where is she?” he questioned, already inside of her living room.
“Um, I don’t know Steve” Nat started to get worried about her friends. “She called me at 6am saying that she needed a break until Tony’s wedding. I thought she told you.”
“She didn’t.” Steve was pacing back and forth in front of the couch, nervously running his hands through his hair. “I woke up this morning and she was already gone. She left me this.” He handed the note to her. “I’m worried about her, Natasha. She was acting strange yesterday, but I was gonna talk to her about it today and now she’s gone and she-”
“Steve,” Nat interrupted him, “She is okay, I’m sure of it. The wedding is in just four days and she will be back by then. Whatever she’s going through, you’re gonna solve it together, but if she needs space, you gotta give her space, otherwise she will never come back. You know how she is, she doesn’t handle pressure well.”
“I just… I just wanna know what’s bothering her so I can help her get through it.” Steve’s voice was much calmer than it was before.
Nat went to his side and put her hand on his shoulder, “Just wait until Tony’s wedding and then you’ll talk to her.”
The next four days were like hell for Steve. He couldn’t stop worrying about her, thinking about where she was and if she was safe or not. The morning of Tony’s wedding, Steve got dressed and went to the venue. When he arrived there, he saw her happily speaking to Thor. There was a time where Steve was extremely jealous of the god of thunder. When he joined the team, him and her immediately started flirting back and forth. Back then, Steve and she weren’t dating yet, but he loved her. He accidentally found out that she and Thor were sleeping together when he went to her place late at night. It was something they usually did, go to each other’s apartments when one of them couldn’t sleep. That night, Steve was so distraught about Thor that he didn’t even text her he was coming over. When she opened her front door, she was only wearing a big white t-shirt that barely covered her bottom. The first thing Steve noticed was how effortlessly beautiful she looked; the second thing was that she wouldn’t wear that kind of t-shirt; the third thing was the t-shirt was a men’s shirt.
“I’m sorry, I forgot to ask you if I could come over” Steve cocked his head to the right, getting a clear view of her living room, where clothes were scattered all over the place. That was when he noticed the hammer on top of her coffee table. And then he remembered Thor was wearing a white t-shirt that day. “I didn’t know you had company. I’m sorry, I’ll talk to you in the morning.”
“Yeah, um…” her cheeks were burning with embarrassment. She knew Steve noticed the clothes and the hammer on her living room and the men’s t-shirt she was wearing, “this isn’t really a good time, but I can get dressed and we can go to your apartment. It’s fine Steve, really, I just gotta-”
“No,” he interrupted her, “it’s okay. I should have asked if I could come over. We’ll talk tomorrow, okay? Have fun.” Steve immediately left, not giving her an opportunity to answer him.
Since she and Thor stopped sleeping together, Steve never felt jealous of him again, especially after the Asgardian reassured him he didn’t have feelings for her and that he should tell her how he felt about her.
When the couple finally locked eyes, she looked away, continuing her conversation with Thor. Stee went to Sharon so they could finally talk about her confession a few days ago. Little did he know was that she saw them together and got closer to the pair without them noticing so she could hear the conversation. She knew it was wrong to eavesdrop on her boyfriend and her best friend, but she had to. What if Steve was telling Sharon he had always loved her as well? It was possible. Sharon loved Steve even though she had Frank. What if she was like Frank?
It wasn’t the conversation that broke her heart even more, but the look Steve had on his face as he watched Sharon walk away. In her mind, he looked at her as if she was his whole world, as if she was the only person he had ever loved. She thought Steve looked at Sharon like she thought he looked at her and that broke her completely, but she couldn’t ruin Tony and Pepper’s special day, so she had to hold it together. Every time Steve tried to approach her, she would sneak her way around and dodge him.
After telling a couple of funny stories about Tony to Pepper, she made her way to the bar so she could grab another drink, but the bartender wasn’t there. She decided to sit in one of the stools and wait. When Steve saw her alone, he went to her. This was his opportunity to finally talk to her for the first time in almost five days.
“Hey” he said as he sat next to her.
“Hi” she mumbled as she fidgeted with her fingers.
“I’m sorry.”
She let out a snarky laugh, “You don’t even know what you’re sorry for, Steve, so why are you apologizing?”
“I don’t, but-”
“Do you love her back?”
“What?” Steve asked confused.
“I know what Sharon confessed to you that night. I know how she feels about you. My question is, do you love her back or not?”
“How do you-”
“Just answer me, Steve.”
“No, I don’t love her. I mean, I do love her, but not like that anymore. I stopped loving her as soon as I saw you walk in into the tower.”
He tried to put his hand on top of her, but she quickly dismissed his touch. She didn’t believe what he had just said, not after seeing the way he looked at Sharon. Steve loved Sharon and she was just a replacement since he couldn’t have the real deal. She got up, but he gently grabbed her wrist.
“Please, I’m telling you the truth.”
“Let me go. This is Tony and Pepper’s day, I don’t wanna cause a scene, so let me go, Cap. Now.” Steve did as she asked and let go of her wrist. “Call me when you decide to stop lying.”
She left him alone at the bar. Sharon didn’t hear their conversation, but she noticed the way she looked as she made her way to Tony and Pepper to apologize for leaving so early. Sharon wanted to go to Steve, but she knew it would only make him feel worse about himself. She was sure he was in love with his girlfriend and that she was the love of his life, but she was also sure that her confession had left him confused.
She took off a couple more days. No one knew why, only Steve. Sharon suspected it was because of her, but she didn’t say anything. She got the confirmation when she didn’t visit her at the hospital after she was hurt in a mission. The only thing she got from her was a text saying “Glad you’re okay” and nothing more.
After almost one week and a half, she finally decided to text her boyfriend.
I’m ready to talk, you can come over. If you want to.
As soon as he saw that text, he sped up to their apartment. Truth was, he missed her like crazy and couldn’t go on one more day without her. Bucky was right – she was the one.
When he got there, she was sitting on their couch in the living room, a cup of coffee between her hands, waiting for him to arrive.
“Hey” he said as he joined her on the couch.
“Hi” she replied.
“So…” Steve began, “I just wanted to come clear with you – Sharon did tell me she had always loved me, and it’s true that I loved her in the past, but that changed the second you entered the tower. I fell in love the second I laid my eyes on you. And you might think I’m lying, but I’m not. I wouldn’t do that, not to you. If I loved Sharon, I would be with her. But I love you, and only you. You’re the only one and you will always be. You’re the one.”
“Steve…”
“Please, don’t leave. I can’t live without you.”
“I’m not leaving. I wanted to apologize for my behaviour. What I did was stupid and childish, I should have never run away from you, or Sharon. I just got… insecure.”
He put his arms around her shoulders and pulled her closer to him, “You have nothing to be insecure of. You’re the most beautiful person in the whole world for me and I love you more than I can ever explain.”
“I’m sorry, Steve. I really am.”
“I know you are, but I’m not the only one who deserves an apology. Sharon has been worried about you, she loves you and misses you. She was really upset when you didn’t come visit her at the hospital.”
“Don’t worry” she smiled at him, “I already talked and apologized to her before I got here. She said she was sorry for sharing that secret. We’re cool now.”
“That’s good, sweetheart” Steve grabbed her by the hips and pulled her on his lap, “Now let me show you how much I love you.”
She giggled before she grabbed him by the neck and kissed him on the lips, happy to be by his side again.

You Broke Me
Prompt: You were married to Loki when he let go of the staff, you thought he was dead, as did everyone. You refused to stay where your husband had died. Odin agreed to let you live on Asgard, as long as you kept to yourself. You had lived a peaceful life, until one day your brother-in-law comes knocking on your door.
Warnings: language, angst, death
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were Sόl, the Goddess of the Sun. You were not one for formal names and preferred to be called Y/N. You were the wife of Loki the God of Mischief. The day that Loki had died, was the day you had lost your entire world. You knew what he had done was wrong, but that didn't make your loss any easier. Loki may have been known as a snake throughout Asgard, but he was the most delightful husband. He had treated you like the goddess you were and he worshiped you, as you did him.
You could not bear living in Asgard by yourself. You did have Frigga and Thor, but it was not the same without your lover. It was not long after Loki's death that you had discussed leaving Asgard. You begged the All-Father to let you go, to let you live a life away from your husband's death bed. Odin had refused your request, so you disobeyed your king. You fled from Asgard, leaving your entire life behind you. You cut all ties, you hid from your King, using magic to shield yourself from his watchful gaze. Heimdall understood your pain, he was hesitant to let you go, but after seeing the look in your eye, he opened the Bifrost to Midgard. You left with no goodbye and no second thoughts.
~ ~
"So reindeer games was actually able to snag himself a wife?" Tony questioned, as he flew beside the Quinjet. The team of five made their way quickly, needing to find you as soon as possible. They had Loki detained but didn't know how to get through to him. You were Thor's last chance to save his little brother from his gruesome mistakes.  "She is a beautiful and kind-hearted lady. But I warn you, she can have a temper bigger than Odin himself when angry. You mustn't cause her any distress or show her ill-will. She is sweet, but she is much more powerful than Loki and when angered she can unleash nothing, but dangerous fury." Thor warned his teammates as he stood behind Natasha and Steve, who sat flying the jet.  "How dangerous is she exactly?" Nat asked  over her shoulder concerned, but made sure to keep her eyes on the sky. Everyone listened intently waiting for Thor's answer.  "I would not dare challenge her when she is in one of her moods." Thor shook his head in a matter-of-fact manner, memories of the consequences of your anger coming back to his mind. "She had once caused a drought so terrible, in both Asgard and Midgard, that my Father had to plead with her to calm down."  "We're all dead. We should have just taken our chances with Loki," Bruce sighed putting his head in his hands. He sat behind Thor on one of the benches that lined the walls of the expensive jet. For the rest of the flight, the team traveled with an uneasy feeling.  They landed the jet only a mile from your house, in a field just on the other side of the woods that surrounded your home. You had settled into a tiny cottage in the middle of the woods. You avoided the large cities and the chaos they held within. Instead, you sat a few miles just outside of a small town, only venturing into it for groceries. It wasn't often that you went into to town for groceries, as you grew most of your food, but sometimes you wanted some meat.  You stood in the kitchen, the sun had been shining on your face through the window above your sink as you washed your dishes. It warmed your face, the sun being one of the things that kept you happy. When heavy, dark clouds moved in a little too quickly, you became suspicious. You were often able to nudge rain clouds along, so you could enjoy the sunlight, but these clouds were much heavier than the rest. Then the flash of lightning split through the sky, the roar of thunder followed soon after. You knew whose presence that storm had brought.  Only four out of the five heroes reached the treeline, Bruce had stayed back in case they needed to make a quick escape. Thor stopped as he broke out of the woods, staring at the small cottage. He looked at the sky and realized his mistake, he had given himself up.
"She knows I am here. Remember, do not threaten her." He commanded. They nodded, but everyone still kept their guard up. Tony sat in his iron suit, Natasha held one of her guns close to her hip, and Steve held his shield in front of his chest.
Thor had immediately tried your front door, not bothering to knock as he pushed his way in. All of the lights in the house were dark, leaving the house unlit. Thor crept through the house looking for you, not knowing if you were home.
"Well, this is quite simple for an Asgardian Princess," Tony called from the kitchen as he studied the freshly cut carrots. A creak on the floor sent him whirling around, his hand flying out in front of him defensively as he aimed the repulsors in the direction of the sound. Before his suit was able to let any shots loose, you faced your palm towards the ceiling, throwing Tony on it. His back hit the ceiling hard, knocking the air out of him. You threw him through the wall, sending him flying into the now muddy ground.
"That fucking hurt," Tony grunted as he began to push himself off the ground. Steve and Natasha were quick to sprint into the kitchen, but you faced both of your palms at the duo. You shoved their backs against the wall without even touching them. You gave them a cold stare, your eyes glowing the golden color of fire.
"Sόl, stop this. We have only come to talk." Thor tried to reason with you. Surprise covered your face, but only for a second as you flicked both wrists toward the hole Tony's suited body had made in your house. The other two heroes flew right into Tony who had just caught his breath. "Sister, we mean no harm."
"The metal man took aim at me, I am defending myself." You growled, your demeanor was tense and your stare still cold. Thor gently let go of Mjölnir, letting it fall to the ground. He raised his hands, surrendering to you. You looked at the hammer on the floor and then back up to your brother-in-law’s face. You dropped your hands to your side but refused to move.
"Sόl, I have urgent news." He pleaded with you, as you finally began to relax a shield came flying at your head. With ease you stuck out your arm, catching it in your hand before it could catch you in the head. You carefully slipped your gaze from Thor and towards the culprit of the flying shield. You were quick to drop the shield, catching the fist of Captain America as he hurled it at your cheek. Using your free hand you clenched your hand around his throat. You lifted the super-soldier off his feet by his throat, watching as he clawed at your hand. You narrowed your eyes at the blonde man, an emotionless look on your face, as you cocked your head to the side. You ignored Thor's plea's to put his companion down, watching the soldier struggle a little longer.
"Throw that over sized frisbee at me again and I will force it down your throat, your growled pulling Steve closer to your face. “And You know better Thor, then to call me Sόl. My name is Y/N and you do not bring strangers into my house unannounced.”
"Are we good? Anyone else you'd like to share your kink with?" Tony asked, referring to you chocking Steve. You rolled your eyes in response.
"Hey, Thor maybe next time, tell us she has telekinetic abilities," Steve choked out, holding his throat as he stood up. You looked him up and down, unimpressed. How could such a man as himself, be so easily taken.
"Why have you come." You turned to Thor ignoring the rest of the team.
 "We have much to discuss."
~ ~
"You speak not of my Loki. He is dead." You whispered hugging your arms around your torso. You and the other four sat around your living room, you hugged yourself as Thor told you of the monstrosities Loki had done.
"Y/N, I would not lie about such a thing. Loki is alive and he threatens the lives of millions of Midgardians. I beg you, you must show him the wrong of his ways." Thor sat on the edge of your coffee table across from you, grabbing your hands gently as he pleaded with you.
"Thor, I left Asgard to get be free from Loki. Whoever you talk of is not my dead husband." You sniffed, removing your hands from his. "I have no place in this war that you speak of. Now, leave."
"I will tell Odin of your location, I will show him here myself. I would not have bothered to find you if it was not an important matter. I have missed you dearly, but I understand your leaving. You must make things right sister, help me bring Loki home."
"You throw threats at me as if they mean anything to me! You may have been my brother-in-law, but I owe you NOTHING. THAT MAN THAT YOU HAVE DESCRIBED IS NOT MY HUSBAND, my husband is dead. If you wish to give me away to Odin, then so be it." You lashed out at Thor, not wanting to discuss Loki any longer. You refused to believe that your husband had left you, had let you mourn him, had let his death break you, only to still be alive.
"Please, you don't that it isn't Loki for sure. Please just come with us, we need you on our side."
"I WILL NOT TAKE ANY PART IN YOUR WAR. I do not want to see any more deaths take place. You are on your own. Leave before I crush the breath from the lungs of these mortals." Your eyes began to glow once again, little cracks showing in your face. The cracks gave off a glow that matched your eyes. Thor looked at you with sympathy, those cracks had formed after Loki had left.
The team gave you defeated looks, collecting themselves. Thor went to plead with you one last time, but you had disappeared before he could say anything more. With tears streaming down your face, you watched as Thor walked back into the woods.
~ ~
You sensed as the battle began, the guilt grew in your stomach. You watched as the fight was broadcasted all over the news. You scoffed at how stupid the mortals were, instead of running they wished to televise an invasion.
Just as you were about to turn the tv off you caught a glimpse of him. You hurried towards the tv, trying to find that horned helmet once again. Your heart sank as Thor had told you the truth, in seconds you stood straight. You closed your eyes, envisioning the now damaged streets of New York City. You felt your feet leave the ground for a split second and then they connected again. You opened your eyes, just in time to rip an alien ship in half. You sent the two soldiers flying to opposite sides.
Your eyes glowed as you briskly walked toward the Stark Tower, ripping apart any threats that stood in your way. Steve was quick to spot you, as you walked angrily through the damaged street. Your eyes held a deadly look, your teeth bared as you easily fought the foe.
"We've got some unexpected help," Steve said excitedly into his earpiece.
Thor was quick to find you as soon as Steve let the team know, the cavalry had arrived. You had shown up in jeans and a tank-top, they were ripped as you fought off several aliens at once. You had become cornered by too many and as you did your best to fight all of them off, you were losing. Just before they all reached you, an all too familiar hammer came flying to your rescue.
"Glad to see you decided to join us." Thor laughed, as you stood back to back fighting.
"Where is he." You growled you took no pleasure in being there. Thor gave you an uneasy look but quickly grabbed you by the waist. He flew the two of you in the direction of Loki, who sat on the balcony of Stark Tower. You dismissed Thor once he had dropped you off, telling him to go take care of the ones threatening the city.
Loki held an insane smile on his face, as he watched the destruction carry on. He laughed excitedly as he saw his army taking over. He took no notice as you walked up behind him, you stopped several feet behind him. You took in his figure, the laugh that sounded so much like him, but wasn't the 'him' that you had loved so dearly.
"Loki..." You trailed off. His body stiffened as he heard your voice, he contemplated with himself if it was truly you or just his imagination. He refused to turn around, he stared down at the destroyed cars that laid in the streets. He begged himself not to turn around and see you.
"Why are you here." He asked bitterly. He spoke over his shoulder, not wanting to look you in the eye. He hoped with every inch of his body, that you weren't there, that his mind was simply playing tricks on you.
"You live." You said, your tone holding a slight hint of anger. You were overjoyed, but hurt to see him. You wished to run into his arms, wrapping your arms around him and never letting him go again. Your heart shattered and soared at the same time. You held so many emotions inside of your body. "What have you done."
"I'm building a kingdom darling." He turned around, an evil smile stood on his face. Never in your long life had Loki scared you, but the look he held, sent fear coursing through your veins.
"You let me believe you were dead, only to begin a war?" You asked. "You let me mourn you, TO HAVE A KINGDOM OF YOUR OWN." You screamed the last part of your sentence.
"This was something I had to do, I knew you wouldn't understand." He scoffed, his chest now facing you completely. "You were never brightest."
You felt your energy surge throughout your body, your blood boiled and you felt your power wishing to be released. You stared daggers at him if looks could kill he would be dead. In one movement, you forced your hand out in front of you, dragging him to come towards you. You grabbed his collar, stopping him from colliding with your body. You brought his face as close together as you could, without touching each other.
"You are my equal. YOU WILL NOT speak down to me. You have taken so much from me and yet you keep taking and taking. The Loki I called my husband, is not the man that stands here now." You were hurt and angered by his actions. How could he have done such a thing to you? He had left you broken and alone, without a second thought. How could he have hurt you so?
"My, my haven't you been practicing." He smirked, referring to the powers that you held. You quickly shoved him away from you, disgusted by him.
"Loki you broke me. I had to flee Asgard, because of your death. You are the love of my life and you left me without a second thought. How could you do that to me?" You said softly, "I don't know what has happened to you or what you were wishing to accomplish, but you will not win. I promise you that."
"Are you going to be the one to kill me Y/N? Is that why you came? Because I hurt your heart? My god, you are just as bad as the mortal women I have fucked." He scoffed, he was hurting you purposely. He was pushing you away, the awful things he said were to protect you from what he had become. You slowly began to realize, he did not want you in the fight, he hoped you would flee the pain in your heart too much.
"You have broken my heart Loki Laufeyson. I will never forgive you." Small tears flowed down your face, "I have loved you since we were young, I will always love you, but you are no longer the man who captured my heart so long ago." You whispered hurt, your demeanor was tense and you began to ready yourself for a fight. Your eyes glowed and the cracks appeared on your face once again.
Loki said nothing, a pained look covering his face as he stalked towards you. He towered over you, but you did not back down. You held the eye contact, not daring to look away. You took in his face, the way he was beautifully carved. You admired his entrancing eyes, the eyes you had once loved to stare into. You now saw nothing of the man you once loved. Any trace of your Loki seemed to have vanished.
"I will love you always Y/N, but you were not made to be broken," Loki whispered into your ear, as he pulled you close. In a mere blink of an eye, Loki had conjured up a dagger without you noticing and plunged it into your stomach. "You will feel no more pain, my love."
You choked in disbelief, your eyes and the cracks that lined your face burning brightly once again. You stared at Loki a single tear falling as you slowly slipped to the ground, Loki holding you the whole way down. He stared at you in agony, he had hoped you were never to see him again. He had hoped that his brother would have kept you away from him. He ran his fingers over the cracks in your face, as he eyed the cracks he had caused you. You let out a couple of choked coughs, blood filling your mouth.
"Yo...you are not m-my Loki." You whispered with your dying breath. You let one last breath escape your lips before the light of your eyes went out. Just as your heart had broken so many years ago, Loki's shattered as you said your last words to him.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!" came Thor's booming voice, as he stood in front of his younger brother. The sky turned almost pitch black, lightning flashed through the sky and thunder roared as it rolled through the sky.
Loki paid no attention to his brother's anger, his eyes never leaving you as you lie dead in his lap. He had taken his whole world away from himself and for what? A kingdom that he would never love without you as his queen.

recounting the entire avengers: endgame movie, which i only saw once when it came out, from memory
because i just took the SAT and i want to do anything except think about that so get ready for a fun ride full of holes and my reenactments of scenes and quotes that i remember from however many years it’s been now since endgame came out. buckle the fuckle up
movie opens, clint’s whole ass family fucking dies. cue killing spree fueled by grief and anger. HashTag Relatable
tony is floating through space with nebula and teaching her how to play paper football
holy shit is this how tony dies
“pep” ouc h
oh hey he’s home, dope
The Gang (tm) learns where thanos’s farm is somehow i can’t really remember
“perhaps i judged you too harshly”
“???? thor????” “what? i went for the head”
“five” five what?? days?? weeks??? months???? oh boy i can’t wait to find ou- “years later” HUH???????
steve looks the exact same, so i guess he kept up that workout schedule even through the snap. i mean good for him honestly
and is also running a talk therapy group like sam did
a single smidgen of gay representation but it’s a good start ig
i don’t really remember what everyone else was doing, i just know that tony and pep have morgan now but idk if that gets revealed now or later
the only reason we had a movie is because of a rat. everyone say thank you to Rat for releasing scott lang, please. round of applause
scott’s daughter is all grown up and catch me sobbing over the fact that he wasn’t there to see it
somewhere in here nat is crying and eating a sandwich and honestly girl same
“hey!!! it’s me!!!! scott lang!!! ant man???? also what the hell happened???? lemme IN”
cue scott lang having a single brain cell and bringing up time travel. i think it was him that proposed the idea. maybe not. but imma give him credit
oh yeah bruce and hulk are besties now and bruce is just permanently Like That
and cue everyone being shook at the idea of time travel
time to go see Science Man at his house on the lake
“i wish you had come for anything else.” ouch
gang leaves dejectedly
peter. that’s it. and suddenly tony is all hands on deck
cue science mumbo jumbo in the middle of the night while he eats something out of a bag that i can’t remember
“shit!!” “sHiT!!!” “NO”
“i love you 3000″
Science Man reveals that he has, indeed cracked the code to literal time travel
cue nat, the only person with an umbrella, going to find clint who is busy with murder, as he does
“don’t do that. don’t give me home” stfu budapest man and get in the car.
thor has. enlargened. and is now playing fortnight with korg as a means to cope with what happened plus losing loki, as i think we all would
The Gang is back together and working (surprisingly) coordinately and throwing ideas around and it’s actually very cute. and it makes my heart very happy. and i want to cry every time i think about it because we all know what comes next
scott’s taco gets blown away. bruce gives him another. all is well in the world
and in this exhibit we see the only brain cell in the whole group, which is being used by rhodey at all times
“why don’t we just,,,, (choking motion)” “to a BABY???”
during the time tests someone gets reverted to a baby but i don’t remember who and it’s highkey disturbing
“i consider this an absolute win!!”
cue slo mo walk with the cool white time suits that everyone looks so good in
“see you in a minute” that smile. she looks so happy. sobbing
i think it’s in here that all the color go through steve’s eyes, so let’s just take a minute to acknowledge how pretty he is
“just for the record, that suit did nothing for your ass.” “i don’t remember asking you to look”
“that’s america’s ass.” yes it is scott you’re absolutely right
“i cOuLd dO tHiS aLL dAy” “yeah i knoOoOW”
time for tony to give tony a heart attack and then just stare in what i can only assume is amusement. i’m pretty sure that comes after america’s ass but maybe not
somewhere in here steve is just staring at peggy through blinds and it’s sad when you see it but when you think about it afterwards, it’s so funny for no reason
time to get whacked by a very angry hulk who was not allowed to use the elevator
“NO STAIRS”
tony goes flying. so does the tesseract. loki, in handcuffs, is like “oh bet this is mine now” and. Leaves.
i’m pretty sure it’s bruce who goes and gets schooled by The Ancient One on the multiverse, and i say it’s bruce because i think he’s the only one out of The Gang who could ever actually wrap his head around it
i don’t remember exactly how they get the tesseract but they do
thor and rocket are in asgard and thor has a panic attack, as I think we all would if we had to talk to our dead mother and pretend like we don't know what's going to happen
and remember kids, slapping someone is not the way to handle a panic attack. anyways
a mother always knows
"i'm still worthy!!!!" you always were, thor. you never stopped being worthy
and we have our hammer back
cue sobbing on vormir
“clint. it’s ok. it’s ok.” that smile.
nat’s fucking dead and i’m fucking dead inside let’s keep this party goin
other stones are recovered and i don’t really remember how but hey we got all six
“where’s nat?” cue more sobbing from me and from clint as you can see each and every team member’s heart drop to the fucking floor. especially steve
yeah maybe we’re doing this for half the universe and all the people we lost, but mostly for nat now
tony’s makeshift infinity gauntlet has entered the chat
Green Man is the only one who can physically take the power of the stones, so the fate of literally everything they have ever done up to this point is on him
snap rest in peace bruce’s arm
cue every single person in the theater holding their breath
“guys. it worked.”
cue explosion as their facility gets bombed and i am terrified that it has killed the entire gang
but it obviously has not and i am once again a Class A Idiot
i can't remember if it’s steve or tony who wakes up first but one shakes the other awake and is like “get the fuck up bitch idk what just happened but we got a problem”
everyone is mostly fine. but they’re all alive and that’s what matters
and now we have the setting for the entire rest of the movie basically
oh hey thanos. that’s uh. that’s a big army you got there
i don’t really remember everything that happened with The Past thanos, gamora, and nebula but i remember that gamora once again sees what a twat her adoptive father is and is like “oh hell na”
cue the gang fighting for their lives against Past thanos. literally
oh shit thor’s about to be killed????
OH MY GOD HE HAS THE HAMMER
cue the theater screaming as they should
hell yeah. bonk that giant space grape with the god of thunder’s hammer. you go steve. and look like a badass doing it as you should
shit’s still fucked and they eventually get their asses handed to them one by one
somewhere in here the shield breaks just like we saw in age of ultron. and like damn bro i liked that thing
steve stands up by himself because bitch. you cant kill him unless he says so. he dies on his own terms. he didn’t live for over a fucking century to die like this
our mans is standing up against a whole ass army knowing full well that he can’t win but damn if he aint ready to try
“ok listen strange. you have to open the portal to his left. his LEFT. you hear me???”
“steve. STEVE. on your left.”
cue the most goosebump-inducing scene that i have ever seen and probably will ever see. i would do anything to see that scene for the first time again. that feeling was like nothing i’ve ever experienced
the amazing symphonics are NOT helping my already-about-to-explode-from-excitement heart
now the gang’s ALL here. and we all cry because all of our peeps are back from the dead and we all missed them and highkey grieved for them after infinity war
i can’t remember if steve actually sees bucky yet but i think he does and i wanted to cry on the spot because not only did i miss bucky but man did i just want them to see each other again
cue sick pan of the whole ass marvel roster like smash ultimate, including howard duck somewhere in there
PETER OUR BOY SWINGIN ON IN
“AVENGERS. assemble.” “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”
but we all know damn well that not a single person could hear him whisper that shit. like steve bro speak up a little
and the battle for the ages commences
we get to see all our favorite boys are girls fuck shit up and it’s absolutely incredible. wow it really feels like someone’s missing who could that be.
this is now a very elaborate game of keepaway
“catch” “Catch” “CATCH “CATCH”
“hey queens” he remembered. catch me cryin
“hey peter. got somethin for me?” god i love her. flew through a whole ass spaceship. no stoppin her
t'challa remembers clint's name. he did care
oh yeah scott is fucking humongous again, but third time’s the charm ig. maybe he won't pass the fuck out this time
somewhere in here, strange starts holding like. an entire ocean back and i dont really remember where it came from
we get a whole segment of marvel women kicking ass and taking names and i think i just need to take a minute. WE collectively need to take a minute
carol flies straight through a spaceship and everyone is like ???? hello????? where have you been?????????
carol gets literally headbutted by thanos and doesnt move a fucking inch. and that look of murder in her eyes. she could tell me to walk into a pit of lava and i would not question it. the power
“launch the missiles!!!” “but sir, our army-” “DO IT”
damn thanos our expectations for you were low but holy fuck
somewhere in here i think petter quill sees Past gamora and is like gamora???? and she like kicks him in the balls or somethin and is like “this is the ones i picked?????”
the fight continues and honestly a lot of it’s a blur but damn was it not the coolest thing i’ve ever seen.
cue strange knowing exactly how this was gonna go down, and holding up a single finger
i dont think ive ever seen that look on tony's face before
oh shit thanos has the gauntlet and all the stones. fuck.
wait holdup that gauntlet looks a little funky
WAIT HOLDUP
“i am inevitable”
“and i. am iron man.”
the theater, once again holds its breath
all is lowkey calm and everyone is shook
thanos’s entire army slowly fades away. including one of those big worm things that almost eats (i think it was) rocket but like. dusts right as it hits the ground and is a really cool shot
and thanos sits down on a rock. and finally is gone. and it's so cathartic
oh joyous day!! they’ve won!! they’ve done it!!! wait holdup where’s tony. i remember what happened to bruce where the fuck is tony
wait
wait hold on
wait hold on a minute
“we did it. we won, mr stark. we won. please, mr stark”
“pep.”
“it’s ok. you can rest. you can rest.”
i have officially passed away and am a sobbing mess. you can’t do this to me. he’s gonna come back. there’s no way. tony stark doesn’t die. no.
this is a fucking funeral. i am going to combust into tears
“proof that tony stark has a heart”
i just wanted him to be able to see morgan grow up.
but him and nat are eating shawarma together in the sky now.
“i’m recording this in case something goes wrong, which it won’t.”
“i love you 3000.”
oh we’re still rolling. oh we don’t even get a minute to process
steve is leaving??? wait holdup we cant lose both. no
“are you sure about this?” “i have to”
“i’m with you til the end of the line” so that was a fucking lie
but steve deserves to do what makes him happy. so i can’t be too mad. actually, nah i aint even mad i’m just sad
bucky looks so dejected. so sad. someone please give him a hug. he desperately needs it
oh hey steve. but you’re old now. hey then, grandpa. how did you. get there
buck and sam go talk to him as they should
“you wanna talk about her?” “no, i don’t think i will”
“how does it feel?” “like it belongs to someone else”
sam has officially inhered the shield, and by extension, his very own bucky barnes. it’s a packaged deal
clint’s got his family back. and they can finally finish their picnic or whatever they were doing at the beginning of the movies
and steve finally got that dance. finally. and he looks so happy. so content.
and that’s about all i remember
i have not watched endgame since i saw it in theaters when it came out because i absolutely do not have the emotional stability to do it again. but damn the disney plus shows have been bangin
i hope you enjoyed the ride, thank you for joining me in my. whatever the fuck this is

for the random objects thing, maybe stevetony with a mid-battle proposal please?
and also for @ishipallthings ! thanks for the prompts 💛 saving your other prompt for shenanigans in another fic :)
worth the universe
3.4k words. in mid battle, steve proposes to tony with mjolnir. canon has been taken out back and destroyed. also on ao3
--------------
“I need a bit of backup here, Cap,” Tony’s voice crackles through the comms without any of its usual wry teasing.
It’s another Monday, which naturally means another giant robot army.
Or it would be just another robot army if they weren’t coming in endless droves. Really, couldn’t villains these days be more creative? Steve slams his shield into the neck of one of the larger bots, disgruntled and annoyed.
It would also be just another Monday if it hadn’t been the day that Steve and Tony were supposed to have off – they had planned a simple date, something small to celebrate their four years together, not wanting to splurge and have it cancelled by another apocalypse.
Which, in hindsight, was very wise of them.
But if Steve hits the robots harder than he usually does, well. It’s their fault that they’re making him work when he should be lavishing Tony in bed.
Instead, Steve is here, trying his best to stay calm and collected.
“What’s wrong?” he waits tensely for Tony to answer.
A loud smash, and then, “robots took out one of my repulsors.”
That sends alarm bells ringing in Steve’s head, his mind cataloguing the remaining three robots in front of him. Angles, weak spots, exposed wiring –
Steve swings his arm back, letting his shield go. He doesn’t bother to look, certain of its path.
Tony’s not powerless with one repulsor gone. The fact that he had called for Steve’s help means he’s in bigger trouble than that.
“Tony – Iron Man – where are you?” Steve asks, the slip of names betraying the stutter of his heart at the thought of Tony in danger.
The shield slams back onto the magnets on Steve’s arm, its weight a comfort as the three robots sway before falling into lifeless heaps on the ground. Bad engineering, he hears his mind scoff in Tony’s voice.
While he would usually be fondly amused by how much Tony’s changed him, Steve has no time for that now.
“Corner of Park Avenue, stop sleeping and get here, you old man,” Tony grits out.
Being able to joke is a good thing, Steve has to remind himself, but still, the tension he hears in Tony’s voice is concerning, and Steve peers up at the roof Clint’s perched on.
“Hawkeye, Falcon, Widow, cover us,” Steve briskly orders, voice brooking no argument as his worry cuts his temper short. “Thor, can I borrow Mjolnir?”
“Just get keep your sappiness out of the comms,” Sam warns, a vaguely veiled reminder to not let his heart rule over his head, as Steve was prone to do with those he loves.
“And as long as I keep Stormbreaker, you may use Mjolnir,” Thor adds.
It’s happened once before: Steve had reached out for Mjolnir, only to have the hammer drag Thor along for the ride. They’ve since learned their lesson, and while Steve tries to borrow Mjolnir minimally, he does want to get to Tony faster.
Grateful, Steve clips his shield on his back. His hand closes around the rough leather straps of Mjolnir, spinning it into flight.
Flying with the hammer is far less enjoyable than flying with Tony, but he’ll take what he can get.
Besides, Steve smiles – the lightning burning its way through his veins, pulsing brighter and brighter as he nears Tony – Mjolnir is useful in some ways.
From the sky, Tony is one dot of red amidst a sea of dull grey bots.
Raising Mjolnir up, Steve lets the thunder rumble with its power, and he brings Mjolnir down, sending himself hurtling to the ground too, the lightning spilling out of him, engulfing them all with white light.
Stumbling slightly as his feet touch the solid earth, Steve holds onto the power a little longer. The sharp bolts of lightning burn through the metal of the robots, scorching them beyond repair.
A vindictive satisfaction twists inside him as he takes out the machines that had dared to try hurt Tony.
He rarely gives into his vengeful anger, but when the thunder fades and Mjolnir calms, all Steve can feel is a relief that Tony is alright.
“Thanks for the save,” Tony grins, his helmet retracting as he surveys the singed remains of the bots around them.
There’s a gash on Tony’s temple, the blood still a fresh red.
Steve’s heart stumbles, worry cresting in his lungs.
He takes a step closer. Reaching out, Steve slips off his right glove to cup Tony’s cheek, needing to feel, to touch, to make sure that Tony really is alright.
“Hey, I’m fine,” Tony clasps his gauntlet over Steve’s hand, the pressure of it heavy and grounding. “The team needs us right now.”
He’s right – Tony is often correct, even if Steve sometimes refrains from admitting it. Because when it comes to Tony, Steve is compromised. Logic doesn’t always triumph.
“Natasha?” Steve taps back into the comms.
“You saved your damsel yet, Cap?” she replies teasingly.
“I resent that,” Tony grumbles.
The lull in the fighting won’t last long, and their team needs a leader. Except, Steve isn’t in the right mind to do that.
“He’s no longer in distress,” Steve ignores the tongue Tony sticks out at him. “Can you take over the team for a moment? I’ll cover Tony while he fixes his repulsors,” he asks Natasha, knowing that she would understand his own need for a break, for some time to let the worried racing of his heart to recede.
A grunt, and the clang of metal against metal. “You have twenty minutes.”
“Thank you.”
He’ll have to buy her some ice cream later, but for now, he takes Tony’s hand and brings them away from the center of the street.
All the robots in their vicinity have been taken out by Steve’s anger, but it would only be wise to avoid standing in an open space. Then, to Tony, he asks, “do you need any help?”
“Just stand there and look pretty,” Tony dismisses, already wrist deep in the wiring of his armor.
Steve huffs. He puts his glove back on, adjusting his grip on Mjolnir.
The hammer is light in his hand, singing for battle, but as much as Steve wants to smash some more robots, he has a greater, more important duty in keeping Tony safe.
Around them, the large robot bodies are strewn across the streets, and distantly, he hears the sound of an arrow thwacking against something. His team are doing okay.
With no immediate threat, Steve lets himself indulge in admiring Tony work. Still, he vigilantly scans for any signs of danger, watching from the corner of his eye as Tony adorably bites his lips in concentration, his tongue sometimes poking out as he attaches a particularly difficult wire.
“What?”
Tony’s voice startles Steve out of his daze, and when Steve blinks, the entire gauntlet is sealed again. Wiggling his fingers experimentally, Tony shoots a repulsor beam at one of the stray robot shells, whooping when the blast comes out as strong as ever.
God, Steve always loved watching Tony work – but that thought only brings back the same gnawing anxiety that’s been distracting him through the entire battle.
I could have lost you. I can still lose you today, Steve wants to tell Tony.
He realises, suddenly, that Sam is right.
They should keep their sappiness out of the comms. Maybe it’s time that they –
Mjolnir whips through the air.
The hammer slams heavily into the robot rounding the corner behind Tony. Steve takes pleasure in watching it fall. It deserved what it got for trying to sneak up on them.
The hammer flies back to Steve’s outstretched hand, and Tony shakes his head at the bots around them.
Clean up is going to be a bitch to do.
Luckily, it was Clint and Bruce who had drawn the short straws this time.
“You alright, Steve?”
Steve nods quickly. “Yeah.”
Tony frowns, clearly not believing him. He drops it after another long, appraising look at Steve, though, choosing instead to kick at one of the robot heads next to his boots with a rueful smile.
“Their shell is weak,” Tony starts explaining, “and if you can overload them with enough electricity, their wiring will overload and melt.”
He goes on, explaining each of the weak spots to the team, his voice washing over Steve, familiar and comforting.
It might be time, Steve repeats to himself, for them to step away. Retirement. They’ve talked about it before. And now, watching the blood dry on Tony’s temple and the shadows of sleeplessness under Tony’s eyes, Steve thinks he’s ready to put down his shield.
Well, maybe not for good.
But they could be reserve members of the Avengers, called upon only when really needed. Train recruits, pass down their knowledge and skill.
Give Tony the rest he deserves.
Steve hasn’t been able to focus on this battle because he has too much to lose, now. He’s compromised – they both are – and looking at Tony, brave and brilliant and beautiful, with a cut on his face, hair sticking out at odd angles, and armor dented, Steve feels a swell of fondness grow beyond his fear.
It feels easier for him to breathe, now, calm in the knowledge that Tony is safe.
That fondness gives way to clarity though, and the longer he watches Tony, the longer he contemplates that he could have lost Tony today, the more Steve realises what he wants.
It was time to come home from the war.
“Marry me?”
The words slip past his lips, urgent and pressing.
They have a battle to get back to – after all, Steve can hear the clumsy clanging of the robots marching a few streets down from them – but Steve can’t wait a moment longer to ask the question.
He’s never been more sure of anything, and because they have a battle to get back to, Steve doesn’t want to regret not asking. He could still lose Tony today, they could get injured or even thrown to other dimensions.
Steve doesn’t want to waste any more time waiting for the right moment, especially when all his moments with Tony feel right, feel warm, feel home.
“What.”
From Tony, it isn’t a question.
It’s a statement of confusion.
“What,” Tony says again, as if saying the word could somehow explain everything.
Tony’s eyes are wide, disbelieving, but Steve knows that Tony’s brilliant mind understood the words right away.
It was Tony’s heart that hadn’t caught up with his mind.
“I want you to marry me,” Steve repeats the words, slowly this time, and gentler.
They’ve talked about marriage, too. Tony had always been blasé when Steve brought up the subject, but his eyes would soften with a wistfulness that told Steve how much he wanted it, and how much he thought he didn’t deserve it.
“You – you’re serious,” Tony stutters, flustering. “We’re in a battle. In an alley. And you want to marry me?”
“I’d marry you anywhere,” Steve easily points out, before remembering who it is he’s proposing to. “Well, anywhere within reason.”
Glancing down at his hand Steve considers what he has: a glove, Mjolnir, and some bandages in his belt. Tony is still staring at Steve, and Steve supposes there’s only a single way for the question to truly register in Tony’s mind.
Going down on one knee, Steve holds Mjolnir up, offering for Tony to take it.
The ground is hard and rough beneath Steve’s knee, but by his internal clock, they have seven more minutes before Natasha’s twenty minutes run out.
He waits patiently for Tony to process the question, eyes fixed on Tony’s face. In his ear, he hears Thor’s triumphant laugh, and Natasha chiding Clint. None of that matters.
He trusts his team to watch their backs for now, diverting the battle away from the two of them. There’s only Steve and Tony, and –
Tony looks heartbroken.
That isn’t right. Tony should never look heartbroken.
Has Steve made a mistake?
No one should be that upset when being proposed to unless they didn’t want to get married. Steve thought the two of them were good, with how steady they’d been going these past years despite all the bumps the universe insisted on throwing at them, except –
“You know I can’t take that, Steve.”
Steve’s heart stutters, confused. “You don’t want to marry me?”
Tony visibly swallows, his throat bobbing miserably. “Of course I do, but can we, can we focus on the battle first? We can talk about this later.”
That made no sense. Tony wanted to marry Steve.
So why couldn’t he –
Oh.
Shaking his head, Steve surges back to his feet, quickly pulling Tony into a hug. The armor digs into Steve’s ribs, and he wishes he could properly hold Tony, but they are in a battle.
So Steve does the next best thing: he presses their foreheads together, gently cupping the back of Tony’s head with one hand, gratified when Tony leans into the touch. Still, he can feel the tension in Tony’s neck, and Steve aches because it.
Neither of them are going to be able to focus on the battle if Steve let Tony go.
Steve would be too worried about Tony, and Tony would also be preoccupied. Most likely, followed by days of Tony trying to avoid Steve afterwards.
Which would be unacceptable and monumentally stupid. Because if anything, it was Steve who didn’t deserve Tony.
He had learned, however, that most things in life wasn’t about who deserved what – it was about holding onto the right things, the right people.
It was about happiness, and home, and the warmth of Tony’s skin against his own.
And Steve sure as hell isn’t goinng to let go of the best thing that’s happened to him.
“Tony Stark, you are the best man I’ve ever known,” Steve tells him sternly, and Tony’s eyes flutter shut, brows crumpling.  Something in him twists at the sight of Tony so unhappy, and he rushes to continue, to try and put a smile back on Tony’s cheeks, “if some damn hammer from a dead star is too stupid to know that, then I’ll propose to you with....” Steve casts his eyes around, “with a kiss. Or my shield. Or that building there. But our team is sort of waiting for us, so, will you marry me?”
One of Tony’s gauntleted hands close over Mjolnir, hesitant and slow, wrapping loosely around Steve’s hand. The hammer hangs between them.
Tony opens his eyes. They’re damp, but shining with a hopeful happiness, and he gives Steve a trembling smile.
“I love you, you know that?” he sniffles. “But if you make me cry again in the middle of a battle, I’m divorcing you.”
Steve laughs, relieved. “You wouldn’t. You’d hate the paperwork too much.”
“All the wedding paperwork is yours.”
Rolling his eyes, Steve pulls Tony in, kissing him long and hard. He knows Tony will likely frame their wedding certificate. Tony might even pin a copy on their fridge, and send a few hundred copies to mess with Fury.
But as Tony sinks into the kiss, Steve uses the distraction to slowly slip his hand off Mjolnir, shifting the hammer out of his hold and entirely into Tony’s.
Only then does Steve smile, chasing the sweetness of Tony’s lips against his own. Three minutes, his mind reminds him. God, how is Steve expected to let Tony go after this?
They do have to pull apart, though, and when they do, Steve knows he’s done the right thing – the smile spreading across Tony’s cheeks a sunrise of hope and joy that Steve itches to draw, to trace every line and every curve of it.
Instead, Steve takes a step away, eyes turning pointedly downwards, victorious and fond.
“You’re worth the universe, darling, and even the stars know that.”
It’s almost comical – the way Tony glances down at Mjolnir in his hands, eyes widening and darting back up to Steve. Tony’s throat works soundlessly, mouth opening and snapping close as the enormity of it crashes down on him.
Taking pity on his shocked fiancé – ‘fiancé!’, Steve’s mind does a little dance at the word – he steps back closer, putting a steadying hand on Tony’s shoulder.
“Do you want to try using it?” Steve asks. “Or we could always give it back to Thor.”
Tony meets his eyes blankly.
“I’m worthy,” he breathes out, still as disbelieving as ever.
Steve moves his hand to cup Tony’s cheeks again. “You always have been.”
Suddenly Tony’s lips are pressed against his, demanding another kiss, but this time the kiss is softer, less desperate and more reverent: a sweet thank you brimming with love.
Steve lingers in it, letting its gentle sunlight seep through his bones, sinking deep and warm in every corner of his heart.
He doesn’t want this to ever stop. He wants to stay forever in their bubble of happiness and contentment. But a loud crash, followed by a string of angry curses from Natasha, forces them both back to reality.
Tony makes a small noise of displeasure, kissing Steve a few seconds more before reluctantly pulling away.
“You, uh, said something about electricity and robots?” Steve asks, winded and struggling to center his thoughts.
It feels surreal and impossible to push away and compartmentalise his overflowing heart, especially when all he wants is to hold Tony close beside his heart, to feel the roughness of Tony’s hands against his own – imperfect and scarred, but real and theirs.
“Were you too busy checking me out to actually listen?” Tony teases back, his eyes dancing with the same joy singing in Steve’s chest.
Steve doesn’t bother dignifying the with an answer, though, because that would make Tony far too gleeful. “Mjolnir can give you the charge you need.”
Tony considers that for a moment.
Slowly, he lifts the hammer up, face scrunching up with doubt and half-hearted effort to summon the lightning.
“It’s not working,” Tony shrugs with a forced nonchalance. “Why can’t you be the one to fry these stupid bots?”
Steve shakes his head. “You understand their weaknesses better, and you’re not trying. I know you hate magic, but you don’t have to believe in magic for it to work. Just believe in yourself.” Cringing at how useless that sounded, he adds, “trust me. Try properly.”
With a sigh, Tony raises Mjolnir higher. He closes his eyes, brows furrowing in concentration.
“I can’t do it, Steve. I – ”
A crash of thunder, and then –
A jagged line of hot silver burns across the calm blue sky, and –
Lightning races through Tony’s suit, the heavens above them darkening and trembling with the weight of Tony’s command.
The armor’s arc reactor flares brilliant with energy, powerful and beautiful, and if Steve hadn’t already asked the question, he would be proposing again right now.
Wreathed in the bright arcs of light, Tony is a god.
The lightning fills up Tony’s eyes, turning their warm brown into a dangerous blue.
It’s both disconcerting and breathtaking, sending a shiver through Steve as heat pools in him, the sight of Tony ruling the skies flinging his thoughts in wild tangents.
Around them, Steve can feel the static in the air as Tony commands the heavens with so much grace and ease, the Earth submitting to the heart and will of its best defender.
There is none of the awkwardness that Steve had felt the first time he wielded Mjolnir. Now that Tony’s succeeded in bringing the skies to life, he wields the hammer with a sure confidence and a playful joy.
“Uh, Cap?” Sam’s voice comes in, jolting Steve out of his captivated trance. “What’s happening to the clouds?”
“We have a new Shakespeare in the park,” Steve informs them, too happy to be sheepish, and too in awe to hide the adoration he knows is laced in every word.
“And a wedding to plan,” Tony adds with a happy laugh, whooping as Mjolnir lifts him a few inches off the ground, lightning crackling around the hammer, waiting to be unleashed.
There’s a stunned silence for a few seconds. Then –
“Thanks for the money, boys,” Natasha’s voice filters in as the others groan about a bet. “But we’re a little busy here, so save the celebration for later.”
“Does this mean I get to rule Asgard, Thor?” Tony questions. “Steve would make a very fetching consort.”
“You may if you wish it,” Thor’s joyous reply booms through the comms, followed by the sound of metal bending and breaking.
“Ruling later. Bots now, lovebirds,” Natasha chimes in, her eyeroll clear in her voice.
Unhooking his shield from his back, Steve straps it onto his arm, ready to start to smacking giant robots down.
They have been gone long enough from the battle, and the sooner they deal with the pesky army, the sooner Steve can properly spoil his new fiancé.
He looks up at Tony. “You go high, I go low?”
“What do you say we finish this faster?” Tony grins in reply, his eyes glowing again as the thunderclouds above them flash in warning.
Steve nods easily.
“Light ‘em up, sweetheart.”
When Tony kisses him one last time, the skies crackle, lightning shining bright with their smiles.

"Honey, meet Thor. The God of Thunder."
The man's glare made you shrink back more. Bucky and Steve immediately stepped in front to shield you. What had you done to upset him? "Please, don't hurt my babies."
"I beg your pardon?" he asked.
"Whatever I did...I'm sorry. Just don't hurt my babies."
His gaze softened considerably as he lowered his hand. "My anger is not with you, little one. You have done nothing wrong. I swear it," he said in a gentler tone.
"You're a bit late for the party," Tony said.
In response, Thor stomped over and gripped his neck.
"Here we go," Clint mumbled as Tony was lifted from the ground.
"Nice to see you," he choked out.
"Is this all a game to you? Are there no depths you will not sink to?"
"Take it easy," Bruce urged.
"No! I told you all to let her be...to let her live her life!"
"Wasn't...your choice to make," Tony choked out more before he was dropped. To his credit, he still looked calm as he rubbed his neck. "You were outvoted."
"Outvoted," he chuckled bitterly. "We saved her. Do you not remember? And you gave her right back to them."
"Thor, we did what we had-" Natasha began to say before he held his hammer out.
"I care not for your pathetic excuses. You gave her back and let her be defiled," he went on, making you flinch at the disgust in his commanding tone. "This was for your own selfish gains and it will not appease me to justify your actions. You are no better than the very monsters who put her on this path. And you all wonder why you are not worthy of wielding this."
No one dared to speak as the God of Thunder walked over to you. The soldiers still didn't move. They didn't appear to be afraid of him and vice versa. And you were too stunned to say anything to the man who actually defended you.
"Thor…" Bruce said quietly, looking ashamed where he stood.
He ignored his friend as he faced you. "Little one, let us leave this room."
"She needs to be checked out," Bruce tried again.
"Then I shall see to it that she gets to her room," he snapped, looking at the soldiers again. "Do you want them there?"
"Yes, please," you answered.
Thor turned to leave and stopped, looking a bit sheepish as he looked at Tony. "Which, um...which room does she need to go to?"
"Down the hall on the left."
"Right. Follow me," he said, the embarrassment gone as his scathing stare swept over the room.
To their credit, Bucky and Steve remained silent as they followed. So did you. You dared to look back and saw Wanda poking her head to watch. For a moment, she looked like she was going to cry. You had no clue why. She helped her teammates do this.
"It's good to see you," the doctor said once you entered the room, standing beside your father. You were still surprised they let your doctor from the facility on the compound. "We were worried when Mr. Stark didn't send you in immediately. You look well, all things considered."
"Yeah...all things considered."
"Sweetheart, did you eat? You look a bit pale," your dad said before his eyes widened a bit. "Thor."
Thor gave your dad the same glare that he gave his teammates, but didn't say a word as he stayed by the door.
"I must say I'm not overly fond of Rumlow, but shouldn't he be here?" the doctor asked.
"That isn't a good idea," Steve said as he took a seat. "Barton is free."
"I wonder if Natasha knows that Tony could have freed him this whole time," you muttered as you got on the bed.
"It's safer for you if he isn't here. We don't want any kind of fight with you close by," your father said.
"So, lock me up. Everyone seems to be good at that."
"You will not be locked up," Thor promised as he looked at the other men. "Is that clear?"
"We're not your enemy," Steve said diplomatically.
"That does not mean I consider us friends," he said, crossing his arms.
"Well...let's get this over with, shall we?" the doctors asked to break the tension. It didn't help.
*****
"You really don't want to know what you're having?" your dad asked as you went back to your room. Steve and Thor had gone on ahead, which surprised you. The God of Thunder didn't seem too pleased with him or Bucky.
"No. I want it to be a surprise," you said.
"They're progressing quickly, but your body has adjusted right along with them. It's truly incredible. And you're all still healthy."
"I feel like I'm going to pop any day," you half joked.
"At the rate they're growing...that could happen," your dad said, not hiding how worried he was.
"What? The doctor didn't say anything," you said.
"You have to remember you're the first to go through this. You could have had a regular pregnancy or you could have given birth in two weeks. It was difficult to determine just from our hypothesis."
"Okay," you said as you opened your door. "Thanks, dad."
Your dad's face fell a bit as he looked at Bucky. "Take care of her, please," he said as you both went into your room.
"I don't need to be taken care of right now."
"I know, doll," he said softly, watching you pace back and forth.
"What I need is...normal," you said.
"Are things ever going to be normal for us?" he asked.
"No. They won't be because nothing about this is normal."
"You still have Steve. You have me. Even if you don't want me, I'll still be there for you."
In your pacing, you had stepped closer to Bucky. Or maybe he stepped closer to you. It was like moths to a flame. You kissed him gently at first. It was one of the first kisses you could recall initiating. It didn't take long for you to deepen it, needing more. You couldn't even lie to yourself that it was hormones. It was just him that you wanted right now.
"Wait…" he said as he pulled away. It looked like it pained him to do so. "Doll, you're upset. You're-"
"I SWEAR if you say hormonal..."
"No. I just...Is this what you actually want?" he asked.
"I wouldn't kiss you if I didn't mean it," you told him.
"You wouldn't? So when you were with Steve that was just what you wanted?" he pushed, shaking his head when you didn't answer immediately. "No. I can't do this."
"You don't want me," you said softly. After everything, he was rejecting you. After he said he loved you. The thought made your heart ache, even with what happened to you.
"Doll…" he said gruffly, gently pushing his hips close so you could feel how hard he was. "I always want you. I'd keep you in bed all day if you'd let me get away with it. I want this to happen when you're absolutely sure because I'm not going to hurt you again. We've hurt you enough."
You stayed close in his arms even as you tried to will your need for him away. Maybe one of the reasons you felt the closest to him was because he just seemed to understand. You knew it wasn't a trick. "Did you know the night I was taken that you tried to warn me? You and Steve wanted to save me."
"What?" he asked, like he hadn't heard you correctly.
"I remember. They were there. Rumlow...and Natasha. And Wanda. Maybe more. They all played a part in this," you said, sighing as you closed your eyes. "Tony said Rumlow can't even have kids. Can you believe that?
You felt Bucky stiffen a bit as he held you, missing the murderous gaze in his eyes. "I wish I could have done more."
"We can't go back," you whispered, pulling out of his arms. "I think I need to walk...stretch my legs. That small talk killed the mood a little bit."
"I'll get you something to eat. We can eat here together? And I can...walk this off," he teased gently, motioning to the front of his pants.
"That sounds nice," you smiled tenderly, walking out with him.
You didn't have a destination in mind as you walked in opposite directions, but you stopped when you heard Thor in one of the open rooms.
"...not the most solid strategy, but it will have to do," he said, turning when you stopped in the door frame. Steve was standing right in front of him.
"Did I... interrupt something?" you asked as quickly glanced around.
"No, we're done," Steve said as he went over to you. "Bucky didn't come with you?"
"He went to get me something to eat. I'm just stretching my legs," you answered.
"I'll go find him. We need to have a quick chat," he said, kissing you. He didn't even look back at Thor as he left.
"Everything really is okay?"
"Nothing for you to trouble yourself with," he said dismissively.
"I won't bother you then," you said as you began to turn away.
"You are not a bother. I must be on my way shortly, but I welcome the company," he told you. "I know you have been through a lot. I was not spared the details. Why do you think I'm here? I had to see for myself that you were not broken."
"Why are you being so kind to me?" you asked as you faced him again.
"Do you believe you are not worthy of kindness?"
"I don't really know anymore. Well, you said you know the details. I'm...a girl who gets off on men using her. I…" you tried to finish speaking. Saying that made you want to hide.
"A reaction in your body does not make you unworthy of being treated well. And...I am truly sorry. I have seen the spoils of war. Please, believe me when I say you did not deserve this."
"I..." you trailed off again, sniffling a little.
"You did not. Whatever anyone has told you, it was not right to endure any of what you experienced. The serum may have granted you this…" he said, nodding to your stomach. "It, however, did not grant the actions or consequences that came with it."
"I just want my babies safe. How can I protect them when I can't even protect myself?" you asked tearfully.
"Listen to me," he said as you wiped your eyes. "You will find a way. You and your babies will be safe."
"Will you help us?"
Thor didn't respond as he seemed to contemplate.
"You're not going to help us," you whispered, nodding. "Because NO ONE will help us. My own dad won't help me. You say I don't deserve this, but you won't do anything. No one is doing anything to stop this!"
"Little one...please, do not be upset," he begged. "It's... complicated."
"Am I even going back to a house? Or will you all just send me back to a facility? Where I can be chained up and fucked until I can't remember anything else? A useless fuck toy just waiting to be filled?!"
Thor walked closer to you, his hands out in front of him. He wasn't touching you. He seemed almost afraid to do so. "That will not happen."
"Will you make the soldiers rape me again? Will you mess with their heads? With mine? Because...I don't know what's real half the time anymore."
"Please, you need to breathe."
"Or will you just keep me here? A place where your teammates think they can steal MY babies?! Lead by an egomaniac who wants their blood to build an army?!" you asked as tears spilled from your eyes. "Why won't you help me?! WHY?!"
You only realized you tried to hit Thor when he caught your hand. His grip was gentle as he lowered your hand back down. You didn't understand why he wouldn't help.
"Someone is watching," he whispered as he leaned down.
You didn't understand what that was supposed to mean. You were always being watched.
"I must leave you for now," he said as he straightened up. "I may not be overly fond of your suitors, but I am fond of you and you may consider me a friend."
"Um...Thank you," you whispered.
"That may not seem like anything to you right now, but I assure you it means something. Be strong, little one," he said, giving you a soft smile as he took off.
"I thought friends helped each other," you said into the empty space.
*****
"Do you really need to babysit me while I eat?" Brock asked as Natasha stood near the table.
"I'm just keeping Clint away from you for now."
"Is he going to shoot me with one of those pussy arrows?" Brock mocked. "And why shouldn't I just kill you right now?"
"You really think you can try that here?" she scoffed before Bucky entered the room.
His eyes were full of fury as he strode over to Natasha, his metal hand gripping her neck. Brock kept eating, not making a move to help her.
"Not...a good idea," Natasha tried to say.
"You helped cause this," he said angrily.
"Buck! What the hell are you doing?!" Steve yelled as he rushed in, trying to pull his friend away.
"All she does is lie," he grumbled.
"You can't kill her. Let her go!"
"No! Not after what they did!" he yelled back before a jolt caused him to loosen his grip, the assassin coughing as she moved away.
"Wanna try that again?" Tony asked, his metal covered hand still aimed at Bucky as he swung toward him. "Next time I won't just stun you. Not like the world would miss you if anything actually did happen to you."
Steve stood between the men, his arms out on each side to keep them apart. "That's enough! Why did you attack Natasha?"
"She was there that night. She helped that piece of shit set this up," Bucky said, pointing a finger at Brock.
"She did," he shrugged, not bothering to lie. "Most of them did. So what?"
"So what?" he repeated. "You did this to her for-"
"You both also did this to her," the Handler smirked. "Don't act like you're a hero now."
"And don't act like you're nothing more than a sterile bastard!"
Natasha inhaled sharply. "Barnes…"
There was no emotion showing on Brock's face as he stared down the soldiers. "What was that?"
"I said you're sterile. She's never going to give you a child because you're never going to have kids. It doesn't matter how many times you rape her. You'll never have that with her. You'll never have anything with her. I may have to live with my mistakes...but she'll never have to carry yours."
"Is this true?" Steve asked after what seemed like an eternity, not taking his eyes off the Handler.
"It is," Tony said quietly. "You guys were stopped that night. And he can't have kids."
"Did you know?" Brock asked Natasha, his gaze deadly as he looked at her.
"No. I didn't know that. I swear," she argued.
"She didn't know. At least, she didn't know after the fathers of the twins were revealed. When she ranted that she didn't believe you'd give up one of these kids, I told her the truth," Tony explained.
Steve still didn't tear his gaze away as he tried to keep his anger under control. "We had a deal," he said through his teeth.
"To help your friend, right? The trigger reversal?" Tony guessed. "We're actually going to keep on that promise. Can't have anyone activating him again now, can we?"
"And we're supposed to believe you?" the Asset asked.
"You think I want a weapon like you out there?" Tony snapped. "No. We'll fix you."
Brock began to laugh after a moment. The sound was hollow. Just like how he felt. "I should have ended you both a long time ago," he said as he reached into his pocket.
Tony didn't give him the chance to use whatever weapon he had, blasting him away from the table. He nearly put him through the wall. "Damn it. I really liked that table."
"Is he…" Steve asked.
"Dead? No. Just stunned."
"What is that?" Bucky asked as he slowly walked over to Brock's unconscious form. Whatever he had in his hand, it was blinking.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y., speak to me. What are we looking at here?" Tony asked.
"Sir, Agent Rumlow activated a tracking device."
"A tracking device? Who are the coordinates going to?" Natasha asked.
"Alexander Pierce."

Secrets
Character: Steve Rogers
Tumblr media
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Shield'sScientist!FemReader
Warning ⚠️: Fluff. Funny. Flirting. Little angst. Mention of Death. Memories. Post!Avengers. During Age of Ultron.
Inspired by: In that moment, with the idea of Steve lifting up the Thor's Hammer.
Author's Note: Hello again!!
This time I'm coming with this fic about my first love of MCU. When I saw the first movie on the MCU in 2009, was Iron Man, but when I saw Captain America: The First Avenger, I knew that Steve would be my favourite of the original six. I love him so much and this fic I started to write a few years ago when the Avenger came out an I never end it. But when I found this in my notebook, I thought: Why not?
And this is the result. Until 9 years after.
So... I hope you like it and thanks you for everything!! XOXO 😘😘 ❤️
-.-.-.-.-.-
- Hey - Steve was leaning against one of the railings of Stark's room, where the vast majority of them had decided to go out to the terrace to have a few more drinks, and get some air.
- I thought you would be outside- I indicated with the head where Thor left the Mjolnir on the table that was on the terrace and took another bottle in his hands. The Asgardian apparatus was so on the brink of it that it looked like it would fall and make a nice hole on its way to the ground.
- No. You know that alcohol does not affect me and I do not want to bother with so much joke and armed phrases that I do not understand.
I laughed as I stood next to him, having an exceptional view of New York as well as the man who was lost in thought of him.
When I had met Jane in Australia, at a science conference, she was at an impasse in her relationship with the God of Thunder. But her discoveries about Bifrost Bridges or "Einstein-Rossen Holes" for mere mortals like us, led her to work together with SHIELD. And in just a few months, after afternoons of talks and extracurricular classes, she dragged me with her to New York.
- When a girl told me if she believed in aliens, I laughed - My companion murmurs, as he sees how Thor enters the place, without stopping for a second looking imposing, he leaves the Mjolnir on the table in the living room, he dedicates us a smile and walks away laughing - Now I feel like one of them.
This time I'm the one giving a smile, causing him to turn and frown, pretending to be annoyed.
- I'll be honest, when they told me that a kind of Norse god had appeared, I also started laughing. But scary - Steve turned with a smile while he was completely in front of me - I was always one of those people who thought that we could not be alone before such a universe, but the fact that there is such a man to confirm it made me panic.
- I don't think you're one of those who are scared.
- You'd be surprised how long I feared the dark. It happened just one day, when I went out into the night in the dark and just looked up at the stars. And after that, Thor and all this madness fell.
Steve burst out laughing and I walked over only to hit him on the shoulder. Of all those who were there, he was the only one with whom I did not feel out of place, besides that he was the one who took care of me since Coulson was gone.
- You don't know how many times I imagined that there was someone else out there - I looked up at the sky as I felt Steve's gaze on my neck - Knowing that there are habitable planets to visit, ships to investigate, but definitely be friends with a Norse god was never in the plans. Entering this world was never in my plans.
- Did Coulson drag you into this?
- No. He even wanted me out of this. If he knew I was in here, he would definitely give him a fit.
- He was a very correct man.
- Yes. More in the facet in which I met him, he was one of those agents who was strictly professional but at the same time, he made you feel that you were not alone among all that madness. He didn't deserve to die like this.
- I know. But Loki paid for it.
- That night that Maria told me what had happened to her, I felt that my world was collapsing. It is difficult for a young woman to be told that her guardian is dead because of an alien.
- Did you love him?
- A lot, but I never dared to tell him. I become that father figure that I did not have, the one that Hydra took from me. And it is not that Coulson was someone very demonstrative of affection that we say, he had his moments where he stopped being Shield's agent and became just a man in charge of a girl that no one thought deserved a chance. He always said that everyone deserved a second chance. He deserved her more than anyone.
-You're right, he was a good man.
- And then you arrived. I must admit, he would be very happy to know that you are the one watching my back.
- I'd take care of more than that, but you won't let me.
I felt how the heat began to rise up my cheeks and the clothes began to bother me. We were always involved in that tug of war, we took it as a joke and made fun of it, but deep down in all that, we both knew very well that it was more than a joke.
Maybe it was the time we spent together, the confidence between us or the difficult moments we had, but the affection we felt for each other went beyond the professional line.
He was already too important to me to make my chest ache just thinking about losing him.
We fell silent, staring at the table where the Mjionmir rested as if it were just another ornament from the eccentric Stark Empire. Seeing Thor's terrified face when Steve barely moved the hammer made it the best moment of the night, especially knowing that Steve hadn't picked it up, not because he couldn't, but because of hurting his friend's ego.
- Who could lift it....
- Don't you want to try? - The mockery and defiance mixed in Steve's voice made me put on my guard. This man was a danger when he put his mind to it. I shook my head as he pulled away from the railing and slowly lowered himself to the table where the hammer was, and for some unknown reason it seemed to move slightly in the direction where Steve was.
If Thor saw that, he would panic.
- I'm not worthy, Steve.
- And who would be according to you?
- Someone altruistic, selfless and who thinks of others before himself.
- Are you describe me? - I was speechless as soon as I heard him and saw him smile as he turned his back on me, completely covering the hammer -What does it take to be worthy of your person?
I tensed as soon as the phrase left his lips. It was not the direction he wanted the conversation to take.
- Not whoever lifts that thing. It would be too good for me.
- Why?
- Are you kidding me? When you carry the blood of many generations of Hydra agents in your veins, it becomes difficult to think that anyone is worthy of you.
- For me you're only Aria. Whoever wanted to intervene in you was left in the past.
- You don't know that, I don't even know it - I let a hint of the fear I felt escape from my lips, accompanying a sigh that I could finally be free from the prison I was in - You are too good for me , Steve. You know it right?
- And that's why I'm ideal for you. - He turned around and came just close enough to the table for her to notice that the Mjolnir wasn't there. He automatically looked at his right hand and the hammer hung from his hand as if it were paper. Hell, I didn't think someone would look so imposing and handsome with a weapon of mass destruction in his hands.
I tried to ignore the erratic beats of my heart that made my judgment clouded but it was impossible for me to look away. I looked into his eyes and there was a spark of amusement and security in them that I dared not question.
- Whoever lifts Thor's hammer will be worthy of you - Those words coming out of his mouth were like a joke, but at the same time they made my legs shake as if they were made of jelly because of the serious tone in which he had said them .
- You know that many could lift that. Do not?
- I'm not going to care as long as you're with me.
- Steve ... - The tears stuck in my throat and he just smiled. That smile that shows you that he is fully aware that it is impossible to argue with him.
More so, knowing that he won the game before even starting the game.
- Something inside of me told me that if I told you what I felt you would take me away from you, and look for ways to do it without frightening you, but whenever I approached, you would escape. And I saw my chance here - He raised the hammer easily causing me to laugh - We're alone and I know you can't say no to a superhero.
- This was not necessary. Also if Thor sees you he will give him an attack.
- And I should claim Asgard. And I don't want to hurt his pride… so don't pick him up sooner.
- I know. And that humility and consideration is what I like about you. Not the man who wears the colors of the nation every time he goes out to save the world - I paused as I saw that the others were still focused on whatever they were talking about on the outside - I like you, Steve Rogers. Captain America is just a complement that is part of you.
He lowered his gaze at the same time that color began to invade his cheeks. He nodded at the hammer and then at the two of us.
- It will be our secret - he approached the railing with the Mjolnir in hand and when he reaches it, I felt like in the play of Romeo and Juliet. I barely crouched down to be close enough to feel that his breathing was just as agitated as mine, and that there was a special sparkle in his green eyes that were surely reflected in mine.
- Now is the time for me to claim my maid.
- You would not dare. Not here.
- You want to see? - He barely touched my cheek, I knew I couldn't fight with it anymore. I was completely in love with that man and I couldn't do anything to avoid him any longer. He brought me a little closer to his lips and when they separated us a few inches from each other, he moved away from him just to see how I was completely supported on the railing - I like you.
He repeated in my ear as if he hadn't been sure that I had understood everything he had said before.
- And you to me, but it goes without saying since I am waiting for a kiss that has not yet arrived.
Steve laughed at the same time that he approached, closing the distance between us and stopped an inch from me.
- I know I am worthy of you, let me show you.
- It'll fall.
- That?
- The hammer will fall off as soon as I kiss you. And this will be the weirdest thing in the world.
- How are you so sure about it?
- Logic, Rogers. You don't have to be too smart to use the… - The sentence was half finished because his lips caught mine in a soft kiss. I cared little if the damn hammer fell, if the world exploded, or if another threat appeared, but at this very moment, all I cared about was that he didn't back off.
I concentrated on feeling the delicacy of his lips against mine, how his hand gently held my neck so that I did not move away or the softness of his hair between my fingers.
It felt too good to be legal.
"Ermm .. sorry to interrupt his intimate moment, but I suppose Captain Rogers would like to leave the Asgardian artifact on the table before he enters the room"
We parted as soon as we heard Jarvis's voice and a shiver of shame ran through me from head to toe. I forgot we were in Stark Tower.
- Thanks Jarvis.
"You are welcome sir"
He walks away smiling and puts the hammer on the table just as Thor entered. He watches us and notices Steve's hand on his artifact.
- You tried again, couldn't you?
We exchanged a look with Steve and he shook his head.
- Something is missing, Rogers. You have to look for it here - Thor indicates his heart and we both laugh. Steve drops the hammer and nods toward the door.
- Will you let Tony know we're leaving?
- Are you going to have the next part of the party alone? - Thor's innuendo made my cheeks heat up as he reached for my jacket and small bag. I didn't know what Steve was up to, but I was eager to find out.
-Unlike you, the rest of us have work, Thor - He holds the door open while he waits for me to get to his side- And if it were that I wanted to have a "party alone" with Aria, I wouldn't tell you.
-Sure, Captain - He laughs and indicates to the rest of the team - I'll tell them that you leave, have a nice rest of the night
When we headed to the elevator, I looked at him waiting for an answer, but all I got was a smile.
- Where we go?
- Wherever you want. Do you want to go a walk? Or…? - I hesitate for a second and took my hand - ... Or do you want to go home?
I didn't doubt it for a second, the elevator doors opened and I pulled him toward him - Home will be fine. Let's, go.

Stark Spangled Banner
Tumblr media
Ch36: I Bid You Farewell And Good Luck, Morons. Part 1- It’s Like A Pirate Had A Baby With An Angel.
Intro: Thor wakes up on a strange ship, surrounded by even stranger people, a talking tree and a rabbit. Meanwhile, back on Earth, the fight to save Vision is won and the group make their way back to the compound to understand what exactly it is that they’re facing.
Warnings: Bad Language words.
Pairing: Steve Rogers x OFC Katie Stark
A/N: So I HAD to write Thor and Tony’s POV over the IW chapters too, because, frankly, they had some of THE best scenes in Infinity War, and I love that freaking Norse God Himbo and chaotic Stark chemistry so bad! I know this is Katie and Steve’s fic, but Steve had so little screen time in this film all things considered…we were so robbed!!! Once again, I can’t thank @angrybirdcr enough for her edits, they’re awesome!
Disclaimer: This is a pure work of fiction and classified as 18+. Please respect this and do not read if you are underage. I do not own any characters in this series bar Katie Stark and the other OCs. By reading beyond this point you understand and accept the terms of this disclaimer.
Chapter 35
Stark Spangled Banner Masterlist // Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
Thor wasn’t dead. But he felt like it. Every inch of his body ached and when he was jerked back to consciousness for a moment, just one split moment, he thought he saw Little Stark. Only it wasn’t her. The woman had dark hair, yes, but as he focussed he realised she looked nothing like the woman he loved dearly as a sister. This wench had huge eyes and antenna dangling from her forehead. And, whilst he knew it had been a while since he had seen his friend, she wouldn’t have changed that much.
Finding his feet he looked around, chest heaving, at the band of people stood in front of him; a woman with green skin and red hair, a man with grey/blue skin covered in red designs, a tree creature- a Flora Colossus unless he was mistaken- which was off to the side draped over a chair, some kind of furry, animal thing- a rabbit maybe- and finally a man who appeared to be a normal, human being. That was until he opened his mouth and Thor realised he was probably the most stupid human being he had ever encountered.
His rescuers had offered him soup, and then when he had explained about Thanos, the green skinned lady called Gamora had told Thor what the Titan wanted the stones for.  Which she knew, because she his daughter.
Thanos had a daughter. Interesting.
“Families can be tough,” Thor spoke wisely, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Before my father died, he told me that I had a half-sister that he imprisoned in Hell. Then she returned home, stabbed me in the eye so, I had to kill her.” He shrugged. “That’s life though isn’t it I guess? Round and round, but I feel your pain.”
The human, Peter Quill, pushed his way between Gamora and Thor, and looked at her “I feel your pain, as well, because, I mean it’s not a competition, but I’ve been through a lot. My father killed my mother, and then I had to kill my father. And that was hard. Probably even harder than having to kill a sister. Plus, I, came out with both of my eyes.”
Thor wasn’t paying attention. The man was clearly a moron, and he’d just noticed he had bent the spoon in the bowl of soup and was having a flashback to the time he had tried to bend the Captain’s shield. Little Stark had laughed so much at how annoyed he had gotten when he failed that she had cried. And then, to make it worse, a few days later the Captain had managed to move Mjolnir. Just a fraction, but it moved. No one had seen it, bar Little Stark of course, but there was something there, Thor was sure. Steve Rogers was a man worthy of a lot of things, but his hammer was complicated. You have to prove your worth. That had been explained to him by his Father the day he had given it to him. Of course, he hadn’t realised then that Eitri had actually made it for Hela first.
Eitri… Oh, yes!
“I need a hammer, not a spoon.” Thor mumbled, as the idea took hold and he looked at the pod at the back of the ship. “How do I open this thing?” He began pressing random buttons on the screen next to the door. “Is there some sort of a four-digit code? Maybe a birth date or something?”
"What are you doing?” the rabbit animal, Rocket asked.
“Taking your pod.” Thor replied nonchalantly.
And then there was an argument in which the moron Quill tried to imitate Thor’s deeper voice telling him he could not take the pod, but Thor was going to take the pod anyway because he was the God of Thunder after all, and then the lady Gamora cut them off quite rightly directing the focus back to Thanos by stating they needed to find out where he was going next.
But Thor had already thought of that. “Knowhere,” he answered as he brushed past Quill and over to the refrigerator he had seen Gamora get his soup from.
“He must be going somewhere.” Mantis argued innocently.
“No,” Quill shook his head and Thor noted his stupid voice was back to normal. “Knowhere? It’s a place. We’ve been there. It sucks. Excuse me, that’s our food.” He jabbed,  suddenly noticing what Thor was doing.
“Not anymore.” Thor shrugged, stuffing it into a backpack he found.
“Thor!” Gamora cut across the pair of them again. “Why would he go to Knowhere?”
“Because for years, the Reality Stone has been safely stored there with a man called the Collector.” Thor stated.
“If it’s with the Collector, then it’s not safe.” Quill snorted. “Only an idiot would give that man a stone.”
“Or a genius.” Thor shrugged.
“How do you know he’s not going for one of the other stones?” Gamora asked.
“There’s six stones out there.” Thor began to explain, “Thanos already has the Power Stone because he stole it, last week, when he decimated Xandar.”
He didn’t missed the shocked and horrified look the group shared with one another.
“He stole the Space Stone from me, when he destroyed my ship and slaughtered half my people. The Time and Mind Stones, are safe on Earth. They’re with the Avengers.”
“The Avengers?” Quill asked.
“They’re Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.”
“Like Kevin Bacon?” Mantis called out.
“Errr he may be on the team now, I don’t know.” Thor shrugged, having no idea who the man named after a breakfast meat was. “I haven’t been there in a while. And as for the Soul Stone, well no one’s ever seen that. No one even knows where it is. Therefore, Thanos can’t get it. Therefore, he’s going to Knowhere. Hence, he’ll be getting the Reality Stone. You’re welcome.”
“Then we have to go to Knowhere, now.” Gamora stated, looking around.
“Wrong. Where we have to go is Nidavellir.” Thor picked up the backpack.
“That’s a made up word.” Drax, the blue man countered.
“All words are made up.” Thor smiled, slinging the backpack onto his back.
“Nidavellir is real?” The animal called Rocket’s eyes grew wide and he jumped up onto the table and looked at Thor. “Seriously? I mean, that place is a legend. They make the most powerful, horrific weapons to ever torment the Universe. I would very much like to go there, please.”
“The rabbit is correct.” Thor grinned at Rocket’s excitement. “And clearly the smartest among you. Only Eitri the Dwarf can make me the weapon I need.” He turned to the furry animal. “I assume you’re the captain, Sir?”
Rocket grinned and nodded, “You’re very perceptive.”
“You seem like a noble leader. Will you join me on my quest to Nidavellir?”
“Let me just ask the captain. Oh, wait a second, it’s me!”  Rocket grinned. “Yeah, I’ll go.”
“Wonderful.” Thor beamed.
“Uh except that I’m the captain,” Quill chipped in
“Quiet!” Thor was now beyond bored of the moron.
“And that’s my backpack.” Quill continued pointing to the bag that Thor was stealing.
“Quill, sit down.” Rocket tapped at the pad and keying in the digits to open the pod.
“Look, this is my ship. And I’m not going to - wait, what kind of weapon are we talking about here?” Quill looked round.
“The Thanos-killing kind.” Thor smiled.
Boy, was it going to be a big, fucking weapon like no one had ever seen before…
“Don’t you think that we should all have a weapon like that?” Quill frowned.
“You lack the strength to wield them. Your bodies would crumble as you minds collapsed into the madness.” Thor shook his head.
“Is it weird that I wanna do it even more now?” Rocket asked.
“Erm, a little bit weird. Yeah.” Thor looked down at him, frowning.
“If we don’t go to Knowhere and Thanos retrieves another stone, he’ll be too powerful to stop.” Gamora stepped forward.
"He already is.” Thor shrugged.
“Look, I got it figured out.” Rocket interrupted, looking at Gamora. “We got two ships, and a large assortment of morons.  Me and Groot will go with the Pirate Angel here, and the morons will go to Knowhere to try and stop Thanos. Cool? Cool.”
“So cool.” Thor grinned before he climbed into the pod.
“For the record,” Quill said leaning down to Rocket, “I know that you’re only going with them because it’s where Thanos isn’t.”
“You know, you really shouldn’t talk that way to your captain, Quill.” Rocket smirked, walking backwards and gesturing outwards with his arms. “Come on, Groot. Put that game down. You’ll rot your brain,”
As Rocket sat down Thor nodded out of the pod to the rest of the people on the ship. “I bid you farewell and good luck, morons. Bye.”
******
It wasn’t hard for the team to track Wanda, her red power flashing bright against the dark sky over Edinburgh City Centre, and as the jet followed her movements, the four friends saw her spiralling through the sky with Vision and crashing through the train station roof, just as Sam put the jet on the ground.
Within seconds the Ex-Avengers were sprinting off the jet.
“Katie, Nat, take the side!” Steve yelled, as he vaulted over the railings at the edge of the road running down onto the bottom half of the concrete ramp which led to the station. “Sam, up high and remember, we protect Vision at all costs!”
“Got em.” Sam spoke over the coms. “Platform seven, near the café.”
Steve vaulted over another set of barriers, the station now deserted thanks to the evacuation taking place by the local police. As he ran onto one of the walkways over the lines, he was just in time to see two of the aliens crash through the station roof. Weighing up his options, he realised it was going to be quicker for him to hop down onto the platform he was currently overheard, and jump across the lines to help. He swung his legs over the railings and landed easily, looking up. Across from him he could see Natasha and Katie emerging to the right, as Wanda stood and moved protectively in front of Vision, building power in her hands. An express train whizzed past him and he stood still, waiting and it wasn’t long before the taller, blue looking woman spotted him, and she launched her spear over the platform. Steve easily snapped his left shoulder back whilst leaning over his body with his right, catching the staff in his hand.
“Heads up.” Sam muttered, and as Wanda and Vision turned to see Steve step out from the shadows, fury lining his face, Sam swooped in and kicked one of the aliens across the platform and through a closed café’s security gate, causing tables and chairs to go flying, before he spun and started to fire on the other alien.
Steve launched the weapon he had caught across the tracks where Natasha caught it and stabbed the second assailant in the gut as Katie moved in to head off the other who was stalking back towards them. The weapon Natasha had been using flew back into the alien’s hands and Katie ducked as she swung, jabbing her in the back of the leg with an electric powered escrima stick. The alien let out a yell, stumbled slightly and Steve cleared the platform in an easy leap, rolling and scooping up the second assailant’s staff from the floor, holding it up to block the blow that the creature aimed at Katie. He grit his teeth, planting his legs to absorb the power of the hit, as Katie rolled to the side, jumped up and the two of them began to fight the alien, joined shortly by Natasha. Steve had to admit, the woman (if you could call her that) was a force to be reckoned with, but the three of them were just about getting the upper hand when they heard Sam yell.
“DUCK!”
The three of them did so and Sam flew in hard, kicking the woman backwards where she fell and scuttled over to her fallen friend. Sam landed next to Katie, drawing both his submachine pistols on the couple.
“Get up” The alien instructed to her fallen partner, her voice was deep.
“I can't.” His gravelly, robotic voice replied.
“We don’t wanna kill you.” Natasha spoke coolly “But we will”.
“You’ll never get the chance again.” The female levelled them, with a cold glare and with that a beam shot down from the hole in the station roof and the two were transported upwards. The weapon Steve was holding also shot out of his hand. He frowned in surprise for a moment, looking at his hand then upwards as the beam of light disappeared and the ship sped off.
“Can you stand?” Sam asked Vision as Katie replaced her sticks and walked towards Wanda and the android. When Vision shook his head, Sam moved forward to help him up.
Supported by Wanda and Sam, Vision looked over at Steve, Natasha and Katie, electricity shimmering over his surface. He’d been badly damaged in the fight, and as he spoke his voice distorted.
“Thank you, Captain.”
Steve took a deep breath and nodded. His face stern, but his eyes were much softer than his expression and Katie knew why. It had been a while since anyone other than Sam, Nat or Wanda had called him Captain.
Steve looked at the android, he might have been damaged but they had the stone, and that was the main thing. Nodding, he spoke. “Let’s get you on the jet.” His voice was soft and he moved to let Sam and Wanda support Vision on their way past him, Natasha following.
Katie hung back a little, trying to stop the light-headedness she was feeling from washing over her.
“You okay?” Steve turned to her as she blinked.
“Yeah, just took a whack that’s all. “I’m fine.” She assured him as they took up the rear of the group, her fingers lacing into his.
Once Vision was safely settled in a seat at the side, Sam dropped into the pilot’s seat. Katie hit the button to close the ramp as the Jet rose into the air.
“I thought we had a deal.” Natasha spun angrily to Wanda. ”Stay close, check in. Don’t take any chances.”
“I’m sorry. We just wanted time.” The younger woman said gently.
Katie glanced at Steve, he was stood up in the middle of the jet, hands on the buckle of his utility belt, staring seemingly at nothing but clearly contemplating something.
“Where to, Cap?” Sam asked.
Steve looked up, he glanced at Sam then locked eyes with Katie as he spoke one word, one simple word that they had all been waiting to hear for almost two years.
“Home”
*****
After a few hours, with the morning sky being the only thing in sight, Sam started to lower the jet through thick white clouds and Katie couldn’t help but inhale sharply when the compound began to take shape as she watched out of the front window. It looked the same. The buildings, the grounds…she wasn’t sure why she had expected anything to change, maybe because it felt like everything had changed for them, but either way, there it was. The exact same as the last time she had seen it.
Steve noticed her demeanour change slightly as they landed. She stood up straight, her shoulders squaring as if she was about to face an onslaught. And they were, in a way. On their way Steve had called Bruce to tell him that they had Vision and were heading back, but had had no idea what they were heading back to, nor did he care. Be it Ross, police, the army, whatever, Steve was done bowing to anyone’s will, he was over playing other people’s tunes. The two years they had spent hidden had shown them all that they could operate on their own if required, and he wasn’t afraid to fight anyone who got in his way.
They stepped off the ramp and strode over the lawn, Katie taking a deep breath as she looked around. So many emotions flooded her system, she couldn’t explain or identify half of them. Memories flashed in front of her eyes, visions of long summer nights spent outside in the garden and on the BBQ patio until sunrise. Laughs during team dinners. Sam and Wanda collaborating on pranks. Training sessions with the team and Vision reading Tolkien aloud to Wanda before asking questions about humanity’s love of fiction. Walks and picnics and other things in the ground, just her and Steve. Their wedding, God their wedding! Frequent visits from Tony, bringing in new ideas and improved gadgets. Getting back safe after being out on a long mission. Feeling relaxed and at ease.
Feeling at home.
Steve’s arm curled round his wife for a moment before he pressed a kiss to the side of her head as Vision opened the door.
“Still no word from Vision?”
“Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh.”
“On a stolen Quinjet with four of the world’s most wanted criminals.” “You know they’re only criminals because you’ve chosen to call them that, right, sir? “
“My God, Rhodes, your talent for horseshit rivals my own.”
The sound of the call between Ross and Rhodey echoed down the corridor reaching the group that were making their way through to the lab.
“If it weren’t for those Accords, Vision would’ve been right here.” Rhodey shot back and Katie glanced back at Vision as the sounds the voices grew louder as they neared their destination.
“I suspect it will be a Hollo Call.” Vision said gently, answering Katie’s unasked question.  His suspicions were proven correct as they rounded the corner and the lab came into view. Rhodey was stood across from where the holographic image of Secretary Ross was facing off against him.
"You have second thoughts?” Ross was challenging Rhodey, who smiled simply as his eyes shot sideways. Steve strode forward, his presence as intimidating as ever, and the first thing Rhodey noticed was just how dark he looked. Gone was the upstanding, All American Hero, and in its place was someone much harder, far rougher round the edges. Kiddo looked different too. Her hair was shorter and she looked slimmer.
“Not anymore.” He grinned.
The holographic Ross followed Rhodey’s gaze and his eyes fell on Steve who was stood next to Katie at the front of the group, Natasha, Wanda, Sam and Vision behind them. Steve raised his chin a little defiantly and moved to take his power stance, feet apart, hands on his belt, before he greeted Ross politely.
“Mr. Secretary"
Katie couldn’t help the smirk on her face as she watched Ross attempting to cover up the shock he had clearly felt at the group of outlaws turning up again. She locked eyes with Rhodey who gave her the smallest of winks before he glanced back at Ross who was shaking his head slightly as he approached Steve, his holographic form almost trying to square up to him.  Steve simply raised his chin further and looked down from the steps he was stood on.
"You got some nerve.” Ross sniffed, staring up at him “I’ll give you that.”
“You could use some of that right now.” Katie shot back bluntly, Ross turned his head to face her for a second. She held his gaze and arched an eyebrow until he turned back to Steve.
“The world’s on fire.” Ross said incredulously. “And you think, you can just walk back in here and all is forgiven?”
Steve levelled the secretary with a firm gaze. “I’m not looking for forgiveness.” his voice took on a threatening tone as he spoke “And I’m way past asking for permission.”
At that point the smirk on Katie’s face grew even wider as she stole a glance up at her husband, pride swelling in her chest as he continued, stoic and unyielding.
“Earth just lost her best defender, so we’re here to fight. And if you wanna stand in our way,” he stepped down to be at level with the hologram, and stared it square in the eyes “We’ll fight you, too.”
Ross was practically foaming at the mouth as his eyes went to Rhodey and he spat out his order, “Arrest them.”
“All over it.” Rhodey promised nonchalantly before shutting off the hologram, shortly after a beeping noise sounded from the computers.
“That’s a court-martial.” He informed the group as he slapped the back of his right hand into his left palm, though his tone said told Katie that he blatantly couldn’t have cared less for Ross’ demands. There was a short pause as the group glanced down at their friend, Steve smiling softly, before Rhodey’s face split into a huge smile of his own.
“It’s great to see you, Cap.” He stepped forward.
“You too, Rhodey.” Steve answered, taking the last two steps down before he shook Rhodey’s hand. Katie threw herself at her brother’s best friend and he gave her a huge bear hug before he looked down at her.
“You do something to your hair?” He teased.  Katie smiled, stepping back from his embrace while he looked the rest of the group over.
“Well. You guys really look like crap. Must’ve been a rough couple of years.”
Steve looked round, an amused smile on his face as he glanced at his wife then to the rest of the team.
“Yeah, well, the hotels weren’t exactly five star.” Sam quipped back cheekily, the banter flowing between them like no time at all had passed.
“Uh, I think you look great.”
Steve turned at the new voice to see Bruce inching his way into the room nervously wringing his hands together.
Steve and Katie remained silent, exchanging a glance. In the rush around and the fray of the fight, we’d forgotten to explain exactly who it was that called.
“Yeah. I’m back.”
Katie glanced over at Nat, she had her gaze fixed solely on the scientist as she spoke “Hi, Bruce.”
“Nat.” Bruce answered inclining his head towards her slightly as he fidgeted.
“This is awkward.” Sam piped up. Steve and Katie looked at one another, before they both smiled and looked back up at Sam.
“Any news on Tony?” Katie asked gently, interrupting the silence that had fallen.
“Not yet no.” Rhodey said. “FRIDAY lost him when he left the atmosphere. We got NASA running scans and we’re trying to track his trail but…” He shook his head.
“Typical Tony.” Katie rolled her eyes “Always has to go one bigger and one better doesn’t he?”
Her blasé tone wasn’t fooling anyone.
“Banner.” Steve said gently, looking across the room at the scientist. “Can you fill us in on what we’re up against here?”
“Yeah sure,” Bruce said nodding hesitantly.
Without so much as another word, the group all started to make their way out of the room. As Katie turned to follow Natasha, Steve’s hand gently fell on her shoulder. Without looking at him, she reached up and gently wrapped her fingers round his, giving them a squeeze before she left.
Steve took a deep breath as he glanced around the room once more, before he too followed on, that sick feeling in his gut was getting worse.

Life after the “End”
Thor was excited to be back with the team and eager to tell them about his and Steve’s news. Not only was his omega going to become his queen, officially, but they were expecting their first children too which made him feel a deep pride for their little family.
When the rest of the team returned to the tower the alpha was sitting with his omega on the couch, snuggling but he helped his mate up so they could greet their pack. “Our friends, our pack, we have missed you!” The thunderer greeted, giving all of them a hug. @heroesofbr00klyn

Ok, here we go! (so much excite!)
"You make me feel like I'm worthy"
With the caressing the face thing in 1984!
Please and thank you, you're amazing! 😁
🖤🖤🖤
This got so long! I’m sorry it took me forever but I hope you like it
 🖤🖤🖤
Summer 1984
“Come on in, Mommy,” Samantha said cheerfully from inside the tent of sheets, blankets, and twinkle lights.
Darcy grinned as she got down on her hands and knees and crawled in among the pillows and stuffed animals and squished herself between her babies. “Look at this,” she said, genuinely impressed. “This is amazing, who built this for you?”
“I drew it,” Sam said with confidence. “And Daddy put it together.”
“I helped,” Joel added around a mouthful of chocolate chip cookie.
“Joely just brought in the pillows,” Sam said quietly.
Darcy kissed her son’s head when he predictably cuddled into her chest, undoubtedly smearing chocolate on her shirt. “That’s very helpful,” she informed him before she looked over at Sam. “And this is some exceptional architecture work,” she said seriously. “Daddy must have had a very good drawing to go off of to make something this good.”
Samantha glowed with pride and scrunched down to curl into Darcy’s other side. “Are you going to tell us a story?”
“Wouldn’t be much of an inside camp-out without one, would it?” she asked, wrapping one arm around each kid so she could keep her hands from falling asleep under their weight. “What do you want to hear?”
“Something scary,” Sam said, looking back up with excitement.
“Yeah, scary,” Joel echoed and giggled as he kicked his feet.
“Scary?” Darcy repeated and grinned as they nodded. “What kind of scary?”
Joel looked up at her, his blue eyes wide. “More about the purple man.”
“Ooh, yeah!” Samantha agreed. “Tell us about the purple monster man.”
She blinked. Hadn’t expected that one. “That’s a really long story, guys,” she reminded, hoping they’d settle for something different. “And Daddy tells that one better than I do.”
“But you didn’t finish it last time,” Samantha said quietly, her full lips already downturned in the beginnings of a pout. “You said you would.”
“And Daddy never finished it too,” Joel cuddled closer.
She sighed and let her nails drift over Samantha’s dark curls. “Okay,” she relented. “Where did we leave off?”
“Umm…”
“Oh! The good guys built another glove and then they got crashed into,” Sam remembered and looked back up at Darcy. “That’s where Daddy stopped last time.”
She took in a deep breath. She knew it hadn’t been Steve’s intention to turn the worst battles he’d ever faced into bedtime stories for his children, but Darcy had gotten stuck on a second shift rotation for three months in the spring and he’d run out of books to read in record time. She’d tucked them in one night in the middle of July and been asked for another story about the captain and the thunder god and the iron man.
“Um, okay,” she started slowly, trying to jog her own memory. “If they were crashed into by the purple monster’s spaceship, then that means it was time for the big showdown, right?”
Joel’s little face scrunched up. “What’s a showdown?”
“The big fight,” she clarified. “Between the good guys and the bad guys.”
“And the good guys win,” Samantha looked up again, hopeful. “Right?”
“Well, it didn’t seem like it at first,” Darcy said, combing through Joel’s hair. “The purple monster brought all his armies and ships and weapons, and he threw the good guys all over the place like a bunch of ragdolls.”
“Oh no,” her son moaned dramatically, making her smother a laugh between her lips before she continued.
She heard the floorboards creak outside the den and didn’t have to look outside the blanket fort to know that Steve was standing in the doorway. “Oh yes,” Darcy assured him. “Everyone was down, and it didn’t seem like they were getting back up. But then the captain—”
“The goodest guy,” Joel interrupted.
Darcy grinned. “The very goodest guy,” she agreed, “pulled himself up and picked up his broken shield and went to face the purple monster all by himself—”
“What?” Samantha asked, pushing herself up to look back at Darcy. “He went by himself?”
“Uh-huh.”
“With a broken shield?”
“Yep.”
“But he checked and made sure his friends were okay, right?” she asked seriously. “He didn’t think they were dead or anything.”
“No, he didn’t check,” Darcy said plainly. “He just got up and took his broken shield out onto the battlefield. Totally alone. No backup. No plan. No nothing.”
“He was making a statement,” Steve interjected from the doorway.
Sam’s face wrinkled again. “But that doesn’t make sense,” she said seriously, looking from Darcy to where Steve’s voice had come from. “Daddy, the purple monster could have killed him in a second.” She looked very concerned. “He doesn’t get killed, does he?”
Darcy smiled and coaxed her to sit back down. “No, baby,” she promised. “He didn’t get killed. He managed to get the purple monster talking and distracted long enough that his friends all got up and came to his rescue just in time. And all the people the purple monster had taken away? They all came back too.”
“Did they kill the purple monster?” Joel asked. “Is he gone forever?”
Darcy kissed the top of his head. “He’s gone forever. Forever and ever. And the captain and all the good guys got to put their weapons down and live happily ever after with no more bad guys to fight.”
Sam craned her neck. “But that can’t be the end of it,” she said, sounding disappointed. “Aren’t there other stories about the good guys?”
“There are plenty of stories about the good guys,” Darcy assured her. “And I’m sure if you ask nicely, Daddy can tell you a million of them. But for now,” she reached into the back corner for the stack of library books Samantha had stashed in their fort. “How about one book and then it’s lights out, campers.”
They agreed and listened intently about Max and the wild things and the wild rumpus and were falling asleep by the time Darcy wiggled out from between them. “Good night,” she whispered, kissing Joel first and then Sam. “I’ll eat you up, I love you so.”
“I’ll eat you up too,” Samantha muttered, curling herself around her pillow. Joel was already asleep.
Steve looked up from the book he’d been reading as she walked back into the living room. “Lights out at Camp Grant?” he asked with a smile.
She nodded happily and dropped down beside him. Her feet tucked beneath her as she lifted his arm and cuddled against his side. “Yep.”
He kissed the top of her head. “You don’t tell that story right.”
Darcy looked up, a smirk pulling at her lips. “Don’t I? The goodest guy walked out onto the battlefield with a broken shield and no backup against the biggest army in the galaxy?”
He rolled his eyes. “That part was…more or less accurate.”
“What’d I miss?”
“That I wasn’t…” he stopped and started again. “I wasn’t completely without a weapon.”
“Plucky courage and a death wish aren’t weapons,” she reminded him softly, stretching her neck to brush her lips to his.
He kissed her back with another smile. “I had more than that,” he laughed softly. “I had…” he coughed and looked somewhere between proud and embarrassed. “Well. I did pick up Thor’s hammer.”
There was a pause and Darcy blinked. “Okay.”
He frowned. “Okay? Just…okay?”
Darcy unwound his arm from her shoulders and sat up to face him. “I don’t…did you fly with it?”
“What?” He looked confused. “No, of course not. I—I mean, I used it. I called down lightning and I knocked Thanos’ jaw loose with a couple swings but—” he stopped again. “Sorry, I was kind of expecting you to be more impressed by the fact that I even picked it up.”
Darcy felt her lips twist. “I’m sorry,” she echoed, reaching for his hands. “I guess I didn’t think it was that heavy,” she frowned deeper with the memory. “I mean…if Jane could pick it up…”
“Jane?”
“Yeah,” she laughed. “Little 90-pounds-soaking-wet Jane Foster. I saw her pick it up all the time when she was straightening up. I guess I thought if she could lift it—”
“Well it’s not about how heavy it is,” he interjected. “It’s about—” His frown deepened. “How do you not know this?”
“It’s about what?” she prompted.
“It’s not about how strong you are,” he said with a heavy exhale. “It’s about how…” he coughed again, that look of embarrassment crossed his features. “It’s about how worthy you are.”
She blinked again. “I’m sorry? Are you telling me that part of Thor’s story isn’t bullshit?”
“You thought it was?”
“I thought it might have been exaggerated,” she admitted. “Like how Loki was supposed to have fathered an eight-legged horse and Odin built the Earth with dismembered body parts of one of is brothers.” She shrugged. “I guess I never really thought about it.” She pursed her lips and squeezed his fingers again. “But now that I know,” she added, shining it on a little extra. “I’m very impressed.”
Steve snorted and shook his head. “Nice save, sweetheart.”
“I am!” she laughed again. “I can imagine how that must have felt.”
“Oh yeah?” he asked, another smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“Yeah,” she nodded and caught her bottom lip between her teeth. “That’s how you make me feel.”
He looked surprised when he realized she was serious. “How?”
“Like I’m…” she glanced down at their linked fingers and felt a rare urge to blush. “I don’t know. Like I’m worthy too.” She looked up. “Like I must have done something right to get to have all of this with you.” A beat passed between them and she wrinkled her nose. “Is that stupid?”
With his free hand, Steve reached over and touched her cheek, pulling her close enough to brush a kiss to her lips. “It’s not stupid,” he promised softly. “I know exactly what you mean.”

Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None Summary: Instead of the Avengers meeting up with Clint’s family home, the Avengers meet someone who’s barely there but works hard. Other than Steve, Tony knows she’s a spy.
Author’s Note: I just want to be in a nice home and have Steve around with the others, cutting wood, drinking on the porch, watching the stars, working in the barn, you know? We need that.
I was just listening to Gorilaz and I love this song called, “On Melancholy Hill”
~~~
Tony and Clint were in the cockpit, flying over to the coordinates of their lay low place. “You sure there’s something here, Cap? Seems like it’s just a complete field,” Tony looks over to Steve who was slightly struck up about something before nodding. “I’m sure.”
Tony nods and looks away, talking with Clint for a bit.
That witch twin did something to the team, made up fears and threats to their heads and it took Steve back. He feared he will lose her. Lose them. He didn’t want that.
“We’re almost there, Cap,” Tony looks forward and sees a house, in the complete empty field. On the screen, it never showed the house on the screen, it was a complete empty field. “What the...” Clint and Tony look at each before they land the quinjet in the forest nearby.
Steve was the first to walk out with the team. Natasha, Bruce, Thor, Tony and Clint followed behind confused on who’s house this was and how does he know about this place that hasn’t been shown on google maps itself?
Steve and the gang reach the porch, they look around to see old things, garden tools, swing bench, chairs and a table. “We all love a countryside home, hm?” Tony asks, looking at the others.
Steve opens the gate door and he held it open for the others. There was a loud howl that turns into barks. Tony tilts his head, “We gotta hell hound on the other side. Any of you allergic?” He asks. Natasha was the one to glare.
“Steve? Is that you?” Someone calls, Steve smiles at the voice. “It is. And I brought some people.” The footsteps get louder as they head into the living room and the gang stop.
Y/N was wiping down her hands on a rag as she smiles at the team. Thor was confused for a second, Tony leans over, “That is an agent of some kind. I’ve seen her.”
Y/N walks up to Steve and he kisses her. Y/N pulls away with a grin and looks at the team, “You guys look like you’ve been through hell.”
Tony nods, “I’m sure you have too.”
Y/N shrugs, “Probably.” There were heavy steps coming down the stairs and they met their floor. “Daddy!” A little girl comes running up and the other Avengers mouths gape.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Steve kneels down and picks her up, putting her on his hip. The little girl plays with the silver star on his chest. “How you doing?” He asks.
“This is a smaller agent,” Tony mutters. Y/N looks over to the group, “When I was pregnant, I found a house here and I called Nick to help keep us off the map for safety reasons.” Steve looks down at her and grins.
“Did you bring Auntie Nat?” The girl asks, Steve looks over to Natasha and nods at her. “Who’s that?” He asks, the girl looks over to Natasha who was smiling. “Can I get a hug?”She asked.
The girl slides out of Steve’s arms and jumps into Natasha’s causing them to laugh. Tony looks at the couple and grins, “I never heard about your kid.”
“That’s because we didn’t want anyone knowing.”
“No wonder you left the team,” Tony says. Y/N walks up to him, “It’s good to see you.” Tony sighs and opens his arms, “Yeah, you too.” The two hug and something hits Tony in the groin causing him to grunt.
Y/N looks down, “Oh, sorry,” She pulls the border collie back as its tail wags. “She just loves guests.”
“Is your dog an agent as well?” Thor asks, Y/N looks up to him and laughs. “No, but she’s a good help around the house. You’re all welcome to use the bathrooms for showers. I’m making some lunch, it may take a little bit longer since there’s a bit more of you.”
Tony nods, “All right.” The toaster goes off and that somehow triggers the God of Thunder to walk out and Steve follows him outside.
“Thor.”
The god stops at the end of the porch steps, “I saw something in that dream. I need answers. I won’t find them here,” He says. Steve watches him swing his hammer and fly off into the sky. The blue clear sky was bright and he loved the smell of the grass and just the woodsy smell of the trees around their field.
Slowly, he felt a hand rub up his shoulder. “You should get out of this suit. You’ll be here for a while, right?”
Steve turns around to face her. “I’m sure we won’t keep you and Amber trouble.” Y/N shakes her head, “My family can never keep me trouble. I haven’t seen them in a long time.”
“Neither have I,” Steve leans down and places a kiss on her lips. Y/N grabs the belts that wrap around his shoulders and tugs them towards her. Steve wraps his arms around her and smiles in the kiss.
“God, you kiss like a prince,” Y/N says.
“Is that a bad thing?” He asks, Y/N smiles, “Definitely not.” She taps his chest and sighs, “Get out this suit, okay?” Steve gives her a silent okay as she runs her hand through his hair.
“You need a shower as well.”
“Could you join me?” He asks. Y/N smiles and looks at his suit. He knew she liked it. “As much as that would be fun. One, we have guests, two I ain’t having a second kid now, third... not in the mood for fondue.” Steve tilts his head. “It looked like you were.”
Y/N chuckles. “Get in the shower, you punk.”
.
Steve and Tony were offered to cut some logs out in the front of the house. “You and Y/N, never thought the man who hates when people lie, he tells his team a lie.”
“What did I lie about?” Steve asked.
“Lying that you didn’t have this...” Tony gestures to Amber on the deck with Y/N. “This family.”
“We only did it to protect Amber,” Steve lifts up his ax and cuts the log in half. Tony cuts the one in front of him, throwing it in the pile. “Thor didn’t say where he was going for answers?” Tony asks.
“Sometimes my teammates don’t tell me things,” Steve looks over to Amber who was chasing the border collie in the field laughing. Steve grabs a log, “I was hoping Thor would be the exception.”
“Yeah, give him time,” Tony said, “We don’t know what the Maximoff kid showed him.” Steve cuts the wood as the pieces collapse at his feet. Steve plants the ax in the wood.
“Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” He says, “Pulled us apart like cotton candy.” Tony grabs his ax. “Seems like you walked away all right.” Steve turns to Tony, panting. “Is that a problem?” He asks.
Tony shrugs, “I don’t trust a guy with a dark side,” He cuts the log, “Call me old-fashioned.”
“Well, let’s just say you haven’t see it yet,” Steve says, beginning to plant his feet to ready up the ax. “You know Ultron is trying to tear us apart, right?” Tony asks. Steve halts, “Well, I guess you’d know. Whether you’d tell us is a bit of a question,” Steve cuts the log.
“Banner and I were doing research.”
“That would affect the team-”
“That would end the team,” Tony interrupts, Steve turns to the pile ignoring his gaze, “Isn’t that the mission?” Steve glances up and walks over to the pile. “Isn’t that the ‘Why We Fight’? So we can end the fight?” Steve grabs the log, “So we could go home?-”
The soldier rips the log in half and turns to Tony, “Every time someone tries to win the war before it starts, innocent people die,” Steve’s brows lift, “Every time.” The two stare at each other before Y/N comes up. “Tony, I had a small favor. The tractor in the barn can’t seem to work, if you could just-”
“Yeah, I’ll give it a kick,” Tony says. Tony glances at Steve and points at his pile, “Don’t take from my pile.” Tony walks over to the barn as Y/N walks up to Steve.
“The tractor?” Steve asks, Y/N smiles, “I had to get him away from you somehow. Besides... someone’s there to talk to him.” Steve puts down the ax and pulls her in. “Why don’t you come inside and eat?” She asks. Steve smiles and nods. “Okay.”
After the whole team spoken about Ultron’s plan and decided about theirs, Ultron’s plan was to evolve and they had to leave right after dinner. Y/N picked up her little Amber. “Is daddy leaving again?” She asks.
Y/N sighs, “He’ll be back.” Y/N turns to see Steve walk in with his suit on and shield. “I’ll be back soon,” He says, he leans down and kisses Y/N. Amber reaches for Steve, “You promise you be back?” Amber asks, Steve takes her hand smiles.
“I promise,” He kisses her hand and then the top of her head. “How much do you love daddy?” He asks. Amber and Y/N look at each other with smile.
“Too much.”
