Went to school for german support today and also sent off my new university application! I feel better than i did last time now that i've applied to a course i actually really want to study. It feels like my bones are in the right place for the first time in weeks.
As those of you who saw my prev post may have guessed i also did a past paper for physical and inorganic chemistry. Now i have the evening to myself :)

My beloved wife is not just a doctor of acupuncture, they also have a Master’s in both English and German. Language is their jam. To their eternal suffering, I do not have perfect grammar. When prompted they said it’s “fairly acceptable” on a day to day basis.
But I do have quirks that make them quietly grit their teeth. One of them is my indifference to differentiation between “is” and “are”. On multiple occasions they’ve tried to explain to me when I misuse “is,” and generally I can’t even parse what’s upset them. They gave an example of me asking, “Is there pickles in the fridge?” rather than the correct “Are there pickles in the fridge?”
They’ve told me that to pacify the editor in their brain they’ll mentally correct my sentences and that’s usually enough. Tonight it was me saying “There is other narrators,” in reference to a series we’re reading. When they pointed it out tonight it was to say that “are” would have been correct because there’s multiple other narrators.
“No,” I countered, “I was trying to use ambiguous language but there is really only one other narrator, so in my mind I knew that and spoke incorrectly because I knew it was singular but the sentence implied it was plural.”
This incensed them further (I also don’t know the difference between further and farther and the pneumonic is just as unhelpful to me as the one for stalactites and stalagmites.)
What’s funny to me though was that I asked about my use of “kind’ve” that people got worked up over in my 20lb ass post. “Doesn’t that bother you? It’s blatantly wrong.”
“No, that’s just a colloquialism, it’s fine.”

how do you think all the "devour"-ing talk in blue lock sounds when it's been put through an automatic translator. do the international players who hear the blue lockers talk about cannibalizing each other assume it must sound so strange because it has different connotations in the original japanese? do they know isagi's a huge freak?

Another weird question for y'all:
If you are moderately allergic* to a thing and had been eating it anyway for years because you didn't know, and then when you figure out what you're allergic to you quit eating it at all, can you lose your ability to tolerate even a little bit of it?
*a phrase which here means "probably severely allergic but can tolerate small amounts when on antihistamines"

Unpopular Huan opinion: I don't think he should look like an identifiable dog breed. He should be massive, vaguely hound-ish, and fundamentally mutty. He should look like Yavanna and Orome took every single breed of hunting and retrieving and livestock guardian and gun dog, broke them down in to fundamental bits like skull shape and leg length and fur texture, shook all those bits up in a paper bag, and played mix-and-match with whichever parts they pulled out of the bag first.

Right at the very beginning of 2x01, when Ava gets to the bar late for her shift and Hans tells her she’s late? And her reply is “my roommate forgot to set the alarm” and Hans’ reply is that super sarcastic “yeah, okay”
The somewhat hidden layer here is Ava incorrectly uses the masculine form of “my roommate” - mein mitbewohner instead of meine mitbewohnerin
So maybe Ava just has bad beginner German (highly possible) but also maybe her German is decent and she’s trying to hold up some ridiculous cover story about her and Beatrice not living together. Except Hans has 0% fallen for any of this and clearly knows who actually runs Ava’s life schedule and now it’s turned into an inside joke because Bea still doesn’t want to break the cover story

hi hope it ok to ask about this. if i do ADLs rarely without help but need help 99% the time is this MSN?
Ok so I'm not really gonna answer more of these type of asks specifically- nothing against you or anything, I just dont feel comfortable "deciding" these things about complete strangers based on a couple sentences alone. So please dont send in your own versions after seeing this. Like, I'm not the support needs authority, I just shared some of my opinions on the term MSN...
However I do think this is a good moment to point out what I touched on a bit in my longer support needs post. Basically that, "can you do it reliably?" = "can you do it all the time when you need it" is important in assessing if care is necessary. And it seems like you know care is necessary majority of the time so that's good. Now idk what type of help you need, how intensive it is or anything, so I'm not really gonna say you're 100% MSN (or something else instead). but what I can say is I experience something fairly close & do ID as MSN (& also like. Have a legal care level of (upper) 2/5 so this isnt me completely talking shit lol)
