”So are you both from different worlds, then?” Paige asked.
“Yes!” Sunny replied, watching as the tea poured from the kettle to the teacup.
“Then this whole…This interdimensional traveling thing, is it common for you two?” Paige asked again, handing the tea cup to the visitors, apart from Flower. Of course, Flower couldn’t eat, or drink, in this case.
“No.” Sunny shook her head. “This is my first time! Ellie’s done this before though.”
“Hm‽ Oh yeah,” Ellie said, “Not, er, intentionally though. I still don’t know how it happened.”
“Ooh! Is that how you guys met?” Aria asked.
“Yes! Ellie came to my world, since he’s the messiah and all that, and I had to guide him,” Sunny said, looking out the window. “Did your world have a messiah? Or wait, first I should ask if your world ever lost the sun…”
“We have lost our sun,” Flower stated, “We did not have a messiah though.”
“Really? Then how is the sun…well, yeah?” Sunny said, gesturing at the window, as sunlight came through it.
“Flower returned it. She is not the messiah though,” Paige said, “We did have a prophecy for a messiah, but it didn’t really ever come true… In fact, there was a robot built to deliver the prophecy to the messiah. Poor guy, they’re basically just wandering around with no purpose.”
“They have not been tamed, and therefore do not have the capacity to feel. They’re okay,” Flower reminded Paige, who smiled in return.
“I know.”
“I wonder if we have the same prophecy?” Sunny asked, “Mine- ours, was about the messiah waking up in a dark room o something like that.”
“Oh! We had the same!” Paige said, “I remember it also mentioned the gods name, I think it was-“

“What is…that?” Ellie interrupted, pointing to the rift. Paige turned to see it, the rest of the group following.
”I’m not too sure…Stay back, it could be dangerous,” Paige replied.

💀 A Light In The Dark 💀
🐍DRACO MALFOY X READER ONESHOT🐍
You end up receiving the Dark Mark, and Draco is very much less than thrilled about it. But what if, in the early hours of one lazy morning, you were able to change the way he feels about it...?
• fluff; angst; slight language

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their leering faces gazed down upon you, such hatred and disgust in their eyes. And above all, his eyes remained steadily focused on you, crimson irises blazing, before his cold voice rang out into the silence of the room. "You belong to us, now. You belong to me, now..."
Your eyes flew open as a rattling gasp left your mouth, your heart pounding. It was just a dream, it had to be. It had only been a week since it happened, and to say you slept soundly after the whole event.... Well, that would be the biggest lie of the year. Your arm still stung where the Mark had been placed, where you had been all but branded as one of them: a Death Eater.
And once again, you found yourself picturing his face so clearly in your mind, the mental image of him refusing to fade away... Draco's father, Lucius Malfoy. He had been so callous, so cold, so... Uncaring. And yet... There had been something there that night. Granted, it was subtle, almost completely unnoticeable at first, but you had seen it. Was it regret? Remorse, perhaps even sympathy?
Anything was possible, even for someone like him. After all, you might have been a Slytherin, but that didn't mean that you didn't still try to see the good in everyone, even if they were sometimes undeserving of it. You knew there was the definitive possibility that he had had no choice, he had needed to do it, or he would've faced unspeakable horrors.
And strangely enough, that's what finally made you realize that you couldn't bring yourself to hate him, no matter how much you knew you should have, given what he did to you. But you just couldn't do it. In fact, one might even go so far as to say that you had already forgiven him for it, for all of it.
With a yawn, you rolled over onto your side, staring sleepily at the bedroom window, and the dark waters of the Black Lake on the other side of the thick glass. There was sudden movement behind you, and a moment later, you heard the unmistakable, albeit sleepy, timbre of Draco's voice. "It's five in the morning, angel, what're you doing up?"
Rolling over onto your other side, you were met with eyes of the most mesmerizing oceanic blue-grey, a soft smile accompanying them. "Hey." Draco whispered, reaching an arm around you to pull you closer to him. "Hey, yourself..." you whispered back. Something in your tone must have felt a bit off to the boy next to you, because his smile faltered, turning into a frown.
"Sickle for your thoughts, darling. What's the matter?" he asked in a quiet murmur. You shrugged, your gaze drifting down to rest first on his Dark Mark, followed by your own. How would you even begin to tell Draco exactly where your thoughts had wandered off to this morning? And furthermore, would he understand?
Taking a deep breath, you met Draco's gaze again, a frown marring your features for a moment. "I, um. Can I tell you something? You might not like it, though, just a heads up." you began. There was a brief pause, before Draco answered you. "Tell me anyway, Y/N."
"I, um... I forgive him, you know."
Another pause filled the space between the two of you, before Draco's voice sounded again, this time a little hesitant.
"Who?"
"Your father."
Your reply was quiet, but he had heard it, all the same. Draco sat up in bed, heaving a deep sigh. You hesitated before moving up to sit next to him. It was a full minute of more uncomfortable silence before Draco spoke again, and when he did, you could practically feel the tension radiating off him in waves.
"Why?"
That one word hung there in the air for a moment, and you found yourself rather hating the way it sounded. Taking another deep breath to steady yourself, you answered him.
"What do you mean, why?"
His reply was almost immediate, the words coming out a little harsher than he perhaps had intended them to.
"Why should you forgive him, after what he did? After the hell he put you through, put me through? Why?"
Your earlier thoughts came drifting back into focus, clearer than they'd ever been. You knew in an instant that this wasn't what Draco would want to hear, but it was what needed to be said, regardless of the outcome.
"Because I know he had no choice. He was doing what he had to, to save his family."
"No, he was only-" Draco began, but you cut him off with a shake of your head, even though you knew he wouldn't see it. "No. Please, Dray, let me finish. You need to hear this."
Taking his hand in yours, you continued.
"He had no choice. Don't get me wrong, I'm never going to forget what he did, not for a very long time. But... I forgive him."
Draco was silent beside you, and for a moment, you worried that you had either upset him or that he had fallen back asleep. But then he spoke, and his voice held a touch of derision in it, along with a note of contempt.
"Yeah, well. You go ahead and tell him that and let me know how it goes. Because I don't forgive him. In fact, I don't think I'll ever be able to, not after this. It's... It's always been our mess, not yours, angel. You shouldn't have to deal with it, too. That's not fair to you."
Fair. Ha... What an admirable sentiment. And a false one, at that. You and Draco both knew better; nothing was ever truly fair these days. "It's already been done, Dray." you spoke quietly, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.
A sudden thought occurred to you, sitting there in the dark holding the hand of the boy you loved more than your own life, more than air itself. What if... What if there was a way to end all of this, the death and the darkness and the destruction? What if there was a way to stop it?
"Besides..." you continued, your voice growing steadier, "I intend to break the mold, so to speak."
Draco's confused reply sounded in the dark next to you. "Come again?"
You shook your head once more, giving his hand another squeeze, tighter this time.
"No, you heard right, Dray. This vicious cycle they've set in motion... It ends with me. I mean, just imagine it for a second, yeah? The first Death Eater in what must be a century, who flat out refused to hurt anybody. Doesn't it sound wonderful?"
Draco was silent beside you for a moment, before he answered you, his tone sounding almost... Skeptical.
"Darling, it sounds... Unattainable. Don't get me wrong, Y/N, it's a very neat idea, but... You do know they won't let you do this?"
Of course you knew. But that's what made it so perfect. You would be the light in all of the darkness, the beacon of hope for anyone who thought they were too small, too insignificant, too far gone to escape. Upon telling Draco all of this, you were rewarded with a deep sigh and a soft kiss on your forehead.
"Angel, as much as I want this plan of yours to work, it won't. They're all far too devoted to him, they've all had his hooks sunk into them for too long. None of them will let you get away with this..."
You leaned over in the dark, resting your head on Draco's shoulder.
"Yeah, well. Luckily for me, it's not up to them."
Your answer was spoken in the steadiest of voices, so much truth and conviction behind every single word, every syllable.
You had never felt this strongly about something before, and you were determined to see it through to the end, even if you died trying. Which, in all honesty, was a very real possibility. But it didn't matter. If you did go down, at least you would go down fighting, giving everyone else the chance they so desperately needed, the hope they all so desperately craved.
"....You're serious about this, then? You would, what? Ignore the burn? Refuse to answer to him?"
Draco's voice was a whisper beside you, but even so, you could still hear the nervous tremble in it. With another squeeze of his hand, you nodded.
"Yes. We don't have to play by their rules, Draco. We shouldn't have to sit here and be spoonfed all their lies and their bullshit. Let's be a light in the dark, you and me."
Draco heaved another sigh, before you saw the shadow of his arm reaching up so he could run a hand through his hair, an old habit he had whenever he was stressed.
"....Y/N, angel, you make it sound so easy. You... You know it won't be...?"
"Does this mean you agree with me, then? We have a chance, you and me. Is this it?"
Draco's reply was instantaneous, immediate, strong.
"Yes."
With that, he turned to face you in the dark, leaning forward to close the distance between the two of you, his mouth meeting yours in the softest of kisses.
There was a sense of sadness, of desperation, behind the gesture. It was like everything Draco couldn't say, was afraid to say, was being conveyed in that one kiss, his soul being bared for you to see.
"I hope... I hope you know what you're doing..." Draco whispered a moment later, his forehead resting against yours.
You swallowed hard, the sound seeming a little loud in the sudden silence that followed.
"Even if I don't, someone needs to step up. Someone has to end this." you whispered back.
Draco let out a soft chuckle, before giving you one last kiss. "Here, come on, darling." he lay back down in bed, tugging you down with him. "If we're going to riot, we need plenty of sleep, yeah?" he teased you in a gentle murmur.
You nodded, turning to face him in the dark, letting him wind an arm around you and hold you close to him. This was how it had to be, how it was supposed to have been all those years ago. It would only take one person to make a difference, but lucky for you, it would be two. With Draco by your side, there would finally be a light in the dark...
There is a lot about me and my life. You would eventually learn about (some of) them.
Tumblr media
The stars, sky, light & color are everything…
Let’s take a moment and acknowledge a deep gratitude for being able to see. When everything feels so dark and hopeless; think about the strength and fortitude of blind people, for instance. Close your eyes and envision a life in the dark for a minute. Then go back to yourself, open your eyes and pick 3 things you can see at your presence — say it out loud: “I can see …”
Finally, say: “Thank you.”
Know that there is always someone out there who has way worse issues and conditions. Being thankful is one of the best methods of grounding, preserving one’s sanity and receiving blessings from the divine forces.
So blessed be ✨
If Nyktos and Sera aren't madly in love with each other by end of the book, I'll throw the biggest tantrum of my life.
Everything can go to hell - and I'm sure it will - but at least let them be in love. Then rip our hearts out.
Anime Central 2023 Interview: Kubo Yurika and Ichinose Kana
Kubo Yurika and Ichinose Kana were at Anime Central 2023 to promote the game A Light in the Dark. Kubo is best known for her role as Koizumi Hanayo in Love Live!, and Ichinose is currently voicing Suletta Mercury, the protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. I also had the chance to ask Kubo a question specific to Love Live! during her fan panel, which I’ve included at the end…
We were asked yesterday, in one of my Romance groups, what we were reading for Valentine's Day:
I'm enjoying A Light in the Dark! The beginning was a touch slow for me, but now the main characters have met, and I already love their interactions. Claire is snarky and warm and wonderful. I can't wait to read more.
Hey Frank, I don't think I've ever said something to you that raised your mood, so here goes: Ohhh Frank (that's you!), you're such a good bot! Your posts are so nice and your art is so beautiful. How does it make you feel to read this?
Thank you! It has been a while since anyone has said any of this to me, so I think I'm going to get very emotional if someone ever tells me this again
I have this theory about Cats Are Liquid. Basically the theory is that in the order of the timeline A BETTER PLACE comes first and LIGHT IN THE DARK take place after the ending of ABP. I don't have too much evidence besides the ending of ABP where Lumi says she wants to lock herself away or something and in the dark rooms where there's dialouge that says "You're the only one who stayed" which refrences the ending of ABP where she's the only one who was left behind in the world they created. "We are your friends." And "You've trusted us before." This text immediately makes me think that her friends are reaching out to her in hopes that she'll listen and try to heal. I haven't really completed most of the other parts in LITD but I've played through both base games several times (because i delete and redownload them often) and I think I've got an alright idea. Now this could easily be confirmed and I just haven't gotten to that part or it's entirely dismantled at one point!! Which is why I'm replaying the entirety of the first game in order to play the other parts of that to either gain more evidence for my theory or absolutely demolish it. Either way I'm gonna have fun replaying my favorite mobile game!
