tbh the fact that cats purr was an unnecessary bonus we don't always acknowledge. they're already cute and baby and little and soft and make silly noises and do funny shit. but they also like to cuddle and make a soothing pleasant noise to indicate they are happy when they cuddle you? huge. huge for the human race.

What we need to do is convince all the disney adults in america that high speed rail would be a preferable way of getting to disneyworld compared to driving or flying. We could maybe harness their fondness for the monorail or something, but this is a group of people that has time, income, and passion that we could leverage. If we could direct 5% of the enthusiasm they have for limited edition popcorn buckets into calling their representatives and demanding high-speed interstate rail, we could get it by 2030

re: the otw election thing, the republican dropped out a few days ago when people looked at her publicly available socials that clearly stated she was actively and vocally supporting the party. because someone on tumblr posting about her very prominently stated Save The Children and Racism Whomst stances apparently counted as "lying and harassment". which... the org immediately tripping all over itself to defend her from Those Evil Lies On Tumblr (>>) isn't a great sign, but resigning from the race before the current people scattered at the sign of consequences means she's NOT on the defaulting board, so I'll take it as a win for now.

tldr we didn't lose ao3 to the Rep, at least for now. election is still going to determine who gets to stay a full term or not, so checking the other candidates out is still important.
