This is beyond humbling. You literally brought me to tears. This reply will probably be long and rambling but I want you to understand how meaningful this message is.

I have been screaming into the void of the internet since I was about 14 years old (20 years ago!!!). I started with Livejournal when it was still in beta. It was before Facebook. It was before pretty much anything mainstream, in terms of social media. I came out as gay when I was 15. I lived in a small, extremely religious, rural town in Texas and being gay was the most isolating experience. So I took to the internet and I met other people like me. I got introduced to fanfic and fandom and found my people. Finding community online was the first time I didn’t feel alone in the world and it was the first time I reconsidered ending my life. It was the first spark I experienced of ‘it gets better’ — of hope, that my life could be fulfilling and lovely and soft.

I had been watching Criminal Minds since my senior year of high school when it first came out but honestly, I had never thought much about it having a fandom. It just didn’t seem like that type of show to me. But when I started using tumblr regularly in about 2014 (so CM was in about S7?), I just happened across a gif set that was the scene from ‘Children of the Dark’ about ‘You…kids…I could see it’ and it changed the ENTIRE course of my life.

It was as if I was suddenly noticing the most obvious thing ever. Jemily was SO clear all of a sudden. I was staying with my best friends the night this happened and I asked them where they read fanfic. I signed up to AO3 that night and found at that point, there were only 82 Jemily fics.

I started with the trailblazing fic that honestly built the foundation for this ship. ‘Take my hand and show me the way’ by MJDuncan (@mjduncan)

I read the entire thing (both parts) STRAIGHT through over 18 hours. No sleep, no breaks. I just read it and it was like I had found the good gospel.

I became a 100% Criminal Minds/Jemily blog immediately after. And I started writing fic for them.

In one year (2014-2015), the Jemily AO3 tag had gone from 82 to DOUBLE that and about 70% of the new ones were mine, with my bestie (@otahkoapisiakii ) contributing tons too. (We actually met through being Jemily fic authors and we’re still besties today!)

I used my writing to process some of the most traumatic years of my life and I was naturally drawn to writing angsty/sad fics because at that point in my life, I didn’t believe in happy endings. I couldn’t, due to what was going on for me — I didn’t have any hope for a happy ending for myself so I def couldn’t see it in my fic. So I decided to, instead, write messy, emotional fics because that is part of humanity. The real world is rarely happy endings. Real life is messy and awful and hard and traumatic and I don’t think we get to see that in media a lot and I think when media avoids these hardships — it can make people feel alone and isolated. Because it’s so easy to think you are the only one going through something when there’s no media that reflects your experiences. Does that make sense?

It’s the whole reason why diverse representation is SO important. Not only in terms of race, ability, sexuality, gender, etc but also in terms of sharing lived experiences.

For me to write for 7-12 hours a day, cranking out all of these heartbreaking fics was my way of sharing my experiences through characters who felt like best friends. It was so important to me and honestly, I wouldn’t be alive today without this fandom becoming my special interest when it did.

So all of that was to say: Thank you. Thank you for reminding me that all of my experiences, all of my content, all of my writings that I was shouting into the void…mattered. It all mattered. And it still matters because I get comments like this that remind me that my work is still helping people and engaging to people and important.

When I randomly decided a couple of weeks ago to throw myself back into this fandom and to start WRITING again for the first time since 2015,it was TERRIFYING. I was worried no one would want to read what I wrote because now, there's 2000 Jemily fics and I didn't think anyone would even remember me. But people like you have reminded me that people DO remember and it has been the biggest support as I get back into writing fic.

I think we, as humans, have an innate desire to leave some sort of ‘legacy’. And I think people get too caught up on ideas of what type of legacy is valid. But you don’t have to cure cancer or explore space or be a politician or whatever — sometimes, just sharing your stories so that other people feel seen and get reminded that they’re not alone is SO important as a ‘legacy’.

So thank you anon. You just validated so many doubts I’ve struggled with for so many years of my life. I will cherish this message always and forever. I genuinely,from the bottom of my heart, am grateful you took the time to share these words with me.

Titan's Season 3 Finale

SPOILERS AHEAD

READ AT OWN RISK!!!!!!

For some reason I thought there was still one more episode after today, and I'm disappointed.

Like, really disappointed.

(I will be all over the place with this, so bear with me)

First off,

WHERE IN X'HALS NAME WAS DICK AND DONNA'S REUNION?!?!

Seriously, I was waiting for that big moment when they saw each other again. Dick literally held her in his arms and cried in front of everyone last season. And you're telling me Dick didn't fucking run and jump into this woman's arms after seeing her alive? for fucks sake writers.

Secondly, We were give not a crumb, not a spect of dust, but a fucking empty box of emotions between Dick and Kori. After last weeks "bombshell" (as these so called "writers" told us about) you'd think Dick would've seen Kori in person and been like, huh, that's going to be the mother of my children, maybe I should acknowledge her existence? nah. nah. All we were given was Dick being all "leader-esq" asking for a "miracle" and then the smallest of interaction at the RV, which I thought was cute banter between them, very season 1, but that's it.

Third, Dick and Kori straight up kidnapped Tim, I think this is hilarious. I bet there was some sort of conversation between his parents and Dick, because you know, Titans just shows us just everything on screen. But I'm really happy for Tim, he really deserves to be Robin and I'm glad he had his moment in the Batcave with Dick and Jason.

"That's for Gotham, Bitch." I loved this. And Tim is right, Crane is a bitch.

Fourth, Bruce finally showing the fuck up. He comes back to a Gotham where people are helping one another, and that is something he could never do as Batman. Dick managed this when he finally worked with the Titans as a team, and not solo. I don't know why it was important for Dick to go back to Gotham this season, but he already went through the whole: 'Team work makes the dream work', bs last season. Why did we need this plot line again? Why couldn't this have been a stunt in Gotham while Bruce was away and then head back to SF. But instead it becomes this whole hoopla of Dick reverting back to his old self with a dash of Batman and a villain that could not deliver.

Fifth, Vee being an ARGUS agent took me by complete surprise. On rare occasion Titans has the ability to surprise me, and this was one of those moment. It is also the second time we hear Roy Harper's name in the series. Will we finally meet my favorite redheaded archer? or are they going to keep dangling him in front of us? I want to know more about ARGUS in this world, I only know ARGUS in the Arrowverse and wonder if Amanda Waller is someone they consider bringing into the show, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Sixth, Someone finally called Rachel Raven!!!!! This makes me beyond happy because I can stop writing Rachel and just write Raven from now on.

Seventh, I finally knew Dick was back to normal when he started to drive his doche-mobile again. The blue Porsche was what I expected season 1 Dick to drive and then end up in a dad car. And in this case the RV. This made me extremely happy and just the look of pure joy on this man's face when he showed up at the airstrip with a fucking RV and hopped out like he just discovered a rare gem. This is top tier Dick Grayson and I hope he is here to stay.

Eighth, We need to talk about Bruce's code being Selina Kyle. I will die on the BatCat ship hill. They are probably one of my favorite OTPs in DC comics. It does make me sad that he chose his life as Batman over his love with Selina. We will probably never know what really happened to them in this universe, but I really feel for Bruce. He really has lost a lot and pushed so many people away. By the end of this episode, we see that Bruce is truly alone.

-We see Bruce have probably his last interaction with Jason ever (I'm assuming here) and the way he says "Bye, son." I really wanted to cry for him. Bruce chose to use fear as a training method instead of teaching them to use their skills to be the best robins. And by using fear his sons never had a chance to be better than him. Jason may be forgiven by everyone else, but he will never forgive himself for his actions. The same as Bruce, who will never forgive himself for killing The Joker, but never regretting avenging his son's death.

-I love that Tim knew the code word; being a fanboy literally saved the day.

Ninth, Raven and Beast Boy working together to get to Donna and Tim. They're a force to be reckoned with and I hope we get to see more of them next season. We already have a lack of content when it comes to Gar, which I blame the writers for. He's such an amazing character and has a lot to offer, but gets pushed aside for new characters.

Tenth, the Lazarus pit scene. I'm confused as to when Kori received her full powers, her own powers. Was it after the explosion of the ship? Was it in that moment when she ended to move the pit into the sky? Why was this moment taken away from us, how are we supposed to know where they came from. She was told that she did not have the gift and now she has powers? Kom was given back her powers from Kori, again off screen cuz why the fuck not, and then they're both helping to cure the people of Gotham.

Eleventh, the best moment in this entire episode was Kori calling out all the bullshit. "I'm so done with this bullshit." Girl same. I am tired of it too.

Twelfth, Dick and Babs "break up". I felt a little sad watching their goodbye scene. Something felt very final about it and I teared up a bit. I'm far from being a dickbabs fan in regards to them dating, but as friends, I did have a fondness for their friendship. I hope we can see Babs again in a different way, but I'm glad she and Dick can move on from one another.

Thirteenth, The episode as a whole just really fell flat. Everything felt rushed, the acting was kinda shitty, but mostly due to bad writing and pacing of the scenes. I'm upset that this is the finale we were given, we deserve better as fans, especially since there are no relationships being built on this show. There's no emotional connections between anyone, it just literally feels so bland without those interactions, even a little bit of drama. Not to compare it to other shows, but Arrow was always good with building relationship and showing each characters development. We learned everything about each and every person, we knew their problems and flaws, but on Titans we get a brief insight to these people because the writers act as if we should know these people already. I know Dick from Teen Titans tv show, New Teen Titans Comics, Nightwing comics etc. I know those versions of Dick, but I don't know DC Titans Dick Grayson.

I. Need. More.

Overall, I'm giving this season a 5.5/10. They had sooooo much space and time to create a great season and fell flat. Hopefully season 4 will be better.

Oh boy a triple feature! :D Here we go, folks!

Under a read more cause its going to get long but each listed character will be split apart evenly!

First up is Baron Dark!

Why I like them: He is just bombastic in personality! He lives loud in his actions and words, participating in most of the action himself while also showing he is a threat and menacing altogether! I also like that he is one of the few villains that shows he cares for his crew as a “family” (at least for most part of the series before being overtaken with obsession to have power more on his own). Given the dynamic we are given from the show, its obvious he cares and treats them all on a level of respect as well, something so rare to see nowadays! And I also enjoyed that his reasons to take over and do the shit he did in the series, “Because I can!” is just as refreshing and fun to see in a villain too!  And again, his design is a top tier design I love overall! Its menacing, powerful, and outright amazing! Definitely adds to the character and how well he works in effect to keeping my attention! Like just look at that design! And his VA did a wonderful job of adding to that charm that is just delightful to see in his personality! Overall, he is totally a villain I would love to see more of in the future!

Why I don’t: I say my dislikes often fall on the usual tropes of a kid’s show of the 90s. He talks too much when he could be doing things himself and falls victim to the typical “I am too powerful” but doesn’t think of the obvious steps ahead that will be his downfall. But honestly, its so small I don’t find it jarring or that bad to be in the way! It was the 90s and aimed at kids at the time, so we can’t expect TOO much out of that xD

Favorite episode (scene if movie): Oh man, that’s a tough one cause every scene/episode Baron is in he totally slays it! Its either a tie from the first episode to the very last one cause the stakes of start and finish are so well done, I love it all! 

Favorite season/movie: Obviously, the TV series is the best version of him! The comics sucked and turned him too OOC from what was initially given! Like how does one go from point A to be Z so freaking fast? xD

Favorite line: “Because I can.” Yeah, not gonna lie this was indeed my favorite line of his xD

Favorite outfit: Honestly, the outfit he gains near the end of the series is by far my favorite! Its like a mix of the Bejeweled Catacomb Saints and Mictlantechutli put in one and its befitting of the Baron given his gain in power! 

OTP: Baron and Cyborn are my OTP and are married, fight me. 

Brotp: Definitely Brotps with the rest of his henchmen though I see them more being like his adoptive children! 

Head Canon: Baron is of indigenous background! I also like to headcanon that the white tuft/strands in his hair are truly his and have been there since birth!  (I have so many more HCs for him but I will keep it short cause it can go all day x’) )

Unpopular opinion: Don’t think I have one, at the moment at least. 

A wish: To have gotten more information/lore on him and the entire cast, honestly! I would have loved to see more of his character explored and what more he could have had to offer as a series main villain! Hell, the whole damn series had so much to offer! And just the relationships he has with the others and what more he could have done post season and before! So much potential there to be explored! I honestly would not be objecting to a reboot/revival or continuation of the series! 

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Though with that said, if a reboot does come around, don’t turn it into the mess of current cartoons we have. Not that they are all bad but most of them have been very disappointing in keeping my attention and liking. Keep the same type of messages it had before! It worked beautifully as it did then and still does work now! I’d love to see the same formulas used while also updating it to be more gritty and mature like they did for Castlevania! Just... Don’t turn it into a cringe worthy mess that will ruin Baron and all the characters in the series! Don’t do what the comics did!

Next is Ariandel!

Why I like them: Oh boy, there is a lot to say in terms of why I like him but I will try to keep it short and simple for time purposes!  His design is top tier for me! Like a rotting skull like face? Check! A monstrous body much like a bird’s? Check! And to add he is a giant Corvian, which are one of my favorite enemies in Dark Souls III!  His personality also differs from the usual loud, bombastic, and proud characters I tend to gravitate for. Instead, he’s withdrawn and rather sad to look at and hear. You know he’s going through a lot but don’t know exactly what it is. In game, one can sort of get hints as to what has gone on behind the scenes but at the same time, its still vague and hard to really pinpoint what really did happen. So he has that air of mystery to him that I honestly adore in many characters as it leaves room to explore deeper into their lore! But I also find his personality relatable as well as sympathetic.  But that’s just me, I can gush about him all day but I will cut it short here x’)

Why I don’t: To be honest I don't have any reason not to like Ariandel other then the small fact that he followed Friede and let the Painted World rot in such a terrible state. But that is so minor of an issue to me to really make a difference, lol. I adore this giant bird man!

Favorite episode (scene if movie): I have to say the scene where he ultimately snaps and breaks out of binds after seeing Friede's lifeless body before him is my favorite scene of his. The amount of pain and anguish heard in his scream and the way he moves prior and after; I can very much relate to that feeling. Sometimes, actions truly convey the emotions better in the most powerful means necessary. And this scene alone truly nailed it.

Favorite season/movie: He's only ever seen in the Dark Souls III DLC, so obvious answer points to the DLC!

Favorite line: "When the Ashes are two, a flame alighteth. Thou'rt Ash, and fire befits thee, of course..."

Favorite outfit: Uhh, he doesn't really wear any clothes save for his cape? So I guess the cape does him well as he is, though I always draw him without it xD

OTP: To be honest, I don't ship him with any canon characters within Dark Souls. Friede does not deserve him..

Brotp: Ariandel being best friends with the Ashen One is my ultimate Brotp! Just think of how much of a valuable ally he could have been!

Head Canon: I know his origins are debatable, as either theory I have for him can be plausible but I often lean more towards the idea of him being half Giant and half Corvian! IDK why but I just like it a lot more x’)

Unpopular opinion: While Ariandel is partly responsible for what happened to the Painted World, I still feel he was manipulated overall and probably at one point did have a change of heart before being forced into complete isolation. He plays more the role of the willing/unwilling accomplice then the actual perpetrator of the crime.  

A wish: He could have had a happier ending without having to die for Friede. I know, its Dark Souls. Such a thing is expected to happen in the Soulsborne series but its a wish, right? 

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: That anything beyond the infatuation he had for Friede took place. Just.. No. He loved her but never could ever have her in that sense and never did. Just no, she is horrible to him. 

5 words to best describe them: Sad, lonely, birdman, withdrawn, and tragic

My nickname for them: Papa bird

And lastly for skekSo!

Why I like them: I think its as obvious as the case for Baron Dark. I like evil, smug bastards that shine through their wickedness and don't usually hold back. In the case of skekSo, I actually didn't care for him at first but then after my second viewing of the show, I started to like him more and enjoy his villainy! He's selfish, arrogant, vain, and conniving and I love it! Added that his design is really appealing to the eye and how he carries himself out, I gotta say he's one of the few villain characters from a show that makes the turn around for me to like them instead of hate them more. Also, his voice. Can NOT go wrong with that voice cause DAMN, its good and shows just how powerful a villain can be with a voice like his. And those eyes. Oh man, those eyes!

Why I don’t: Despite his villainy being the main point that caught my attention, its also a part of his downfall too. His constant greed and arrogance pushed him too far into doing what he did and ultimately cost him everything in the end; including loyal allies that end up dying for him in the long run. I hate how easily and quickly he changes his mind when actual logic is put into perspective of his plans and how quick he is to dismiss someone else when they don't please him anymore or things don't go his way for the smallest things. And yes, that is part of his character, I know that. That is what makes him as scummy as he is and why I love how trashy he is. But I also can't ignore just how easily he pushed skekVar away and believed skekSil despite knowing just what a lying bastard he is. IDK, it just feels too obvious but at the same time, it is what it is and I am not upset about it in the least x)

Favorite episode (scene if movie): Honestly, I enjoyed all the scenes with him in the show but mostly in particular with his interactions with skekVar, especially towards the end of the series. It showed a peak part of his vulnerability in his character that honestly I doubt he ever shows to anyone else. He spends most of his time pushing others around and making them fear him but with skekVar there is a sort of mutual respect going that really speaks out in a different way. Maybe I am just reading too much into it, but I always did enjoy how they interacted with one another!

Favorite season/movie: Well, skekSo didn't get much screen time in the movie other then him dying and turning to dust so.... Definitely enjoyed him more in the show then the film xD

Favorite line: "NOOOOO!" (Yes, this scene is still very infamous to me for personal reasons but the way he carried out his "no's" cracked me up each time xD)

Favorite outfit: Honestly, the main outfit he wore throughout the show. It's just so regal and goth, I love it! And as a goth and fashion enthusiast myself, I am all up for the style he has! The battle armor he wore near the end made it a tad more laughable to be honest.

OTP: I started shipping him with skekVar but ended up with an OT3 of skekVar and skekZok. So now all three of them live in a happy relationship with each other in my noodle~

Brotp: I see him being on neutral terms with skekMal! 

Head Canon: I feel that even in the show it wasn’t seen or given, but he did feel a lot of remorse and regret after the loss of skekVar. He seemed very close with him and spoke with skekVar with more trust then he did the others. Perhaps in secret he did mourn the General’s loss. 

Unpopular opinion: Does this count as an unpopular opinion? I know most people see him with just a few strands of hair but I tend to see him with a head full of long flowing white locks he keeps hidden beneath his clothes. It adds to the extra layer of vanity for a proud Emperor such as he! He looses it over time the darkening consumes him and withers down his health. 

A wish: To see what he was like as an urSkek prior to being split up into a Skeksis and urRu. Yeah, I know people don't care or like the urSkeks all that much but honestly, I would LOVE to see more urSkek lore and see what it was that made SoSu so special among his peers. It was said, after all, he had a voice that could move the stars but was conflicted and consumed with darkness. Honestly, I want to know why and who he was prior to all of this mess! SkekSo even says in the show he still has nightmares of the life before so I wonder, what they were and how it was! So much potential here, man!

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: I don’t think I have any of these to be honest? At least with skekSo. Not that I can think of on top of my head now.

Bonkai. Unquestionably. Like are you kidding me? Every frame between Kat Graham and Chris Wood is either eye sex or just straight up undeniable chemistry and the edits bring it out even more. Fic writers also do an amazing job of highlighting it! I’ve never encountered a ship with better chemistry tbh 🙈 like within the first time Bonnie and Kai meet it’s instant like — THAT’S INSANE 😂

JIARA: Spinning In Circles (Hoping One Day I Face You) by @jjmaybank . I haven’t kept up as much as I should with this fic and I truly regret that because it is simply one of the best things I’ve ever read. Like, baby fics are adorable to me but this pregnancy fic is truly another level. I’ve never seen anything like it and every single chapter just gets better and better. All of the characters jump off the page, the writing is exquisite and everything is so realistic like — this is beautifully crafted. Absolutely a must read.

DIMYA: No Proof, One Touch, You Felt Enough by @izloveshorses . OH MY GOODDDDD OH MY GOD. I think about this fic all the time. It’s such a good dive into who the characters are and I absolutely cannot get enough of it. Beyond incredible. AND ALL THE TOUCHING LIKE YES IT’S ABOUT THE CONTACTTTTTT!

BAMON: Dormiente by Swamy. This fic as kept me up at night and literally put me in a mad dash to find it again. It is a masterpiece in and of itself and I love it beyond words. Also, the smut is top tier. Extremely well done!

SPIDEYCHELLE: Spring Break Fever by Chrono96. Arguably some of the best smut I’ve ever read, this entire fic is immaculate. It’s a super entertaining read and it will break your heart, but it’s also just??? Incredible??? In and of itself??? I don’t even know what to say it’s an experience and you have to read it for yourself!

WESTALLEN: Darling, in the End, We All Become What We Pretend To Be by @iris-west-allens . PLEASE THIS FIC IS SO FREAKING GOOD! The characterization never misses, it’s so accurate. The writing is absolutely gorgeous and the plot plus all of the little details that add up from the chapter names to the scientific/journalism things and everything in between like — this fic is art. I’ve read all of her other fics too and they are incredible; my favorites are the Greatest Showman and Tangled AUs! In addition to this fic, of course!

I know it said five, but I also consider anything by you, Stina, and Christy an absolute must read y’all are paragons of talent 🙌🏾 and all the Jiaras, naturally ✨ I will also read literally anything by @thefudge as well as @spideyxchelle solely because of how freaking amazing their writing is (i’ve read all the one shots and fics multiple times and fangirled af so y’all know they are pure quality!). First off, I apologize for both the tardiness and the length of this post. Oops.

So, I’m going to out myself a bit on this. I’m��� new here. New to “fandom” tumblr, new to fanfiction, new to all of it. I’d very actively disengaged from all social media in the past half-decade with the exception of some outdoor-related instagram shit. I knew fanfiction existed, like, ~as a concept~, but I had no idea it was actually ~out there~ until six months ago. As you might imagine, all this was a really fun discovery. 

Most of the fanfic I’ve read is… Mandalorian reader-insert. Or Cassian. Or Poe. Or fic for one of the zillion different Star Wars ‘ships I like. Homies… I’m a nerd. I’m a big, big nerd. I also have a huge thing for Pedro Pascal. There are three particular writers in the SW and/or Pedro fandom I consider just… fucking phenomenal. I’ll happily give recs if that’s up your alley.

I haven’t been reading much recently—I’ve been working on longer fics and figuring out how to do this here web-bloggin’ thang—and I’ve honestly not read a lot of AD character fanfic in general (which is a cryin’ shame!). The two first Driver reader-insert blogs I ever followed were @driversmutbucket and @ohiobluetip back in mid-February. Needless to say, they’re both TOP-FUCKIN-TIER. Chef’s kiss. Whipped cream and sprinkles on top. Oh, and just to note, I blame @ohiobluetip and @kowalskibro-adamdriverblog for dragging me into this fanfiction mess. 

With that as a precursor, here are some writer friends for you to scope out xo:

A pal recently recommended a few Sackler pieces by @thetorturerwrites which were an absolute fuckin’ treat to read. Their narrative voice is lucid, incisive, and nimbly-controlled—maintaining reaaally tight, evocative second-person throughout without ever becoming myopic. Seriously good shit, y’all.

I’ve been so charmed by @direnightshade’s kind-hearted and evocative prose. She writes well-defined, instantly-recognizable characters—including a wonderfully tender Charlie and a devilishly charismatic Flip. 

@umbrielchip000 has been writing some delightful and inventive HCs for a wide smattering of characters that always leave me smiling. Always. Oh, and grade-A shitposting, too. 11/10.

My darling @ellelaconiwrites has a Charlie series in the works that’s made me sooo goddamn soft, and @okk--maaan is doing a whole CHARLIE WEEK right now! Are we spoiled, or are we spoiled?

My dear @ktellmeastory has written loads of filthy Sackler goodness, including a *whisper-scream* on-stage, mid-performance, sneaky-fuck oneshot (aaaah!). K is also a pioneer of Toby Grisoni filth. Bless her. If Girls left you craving a resolution to Sackler’s storyline, @hrh-selene-r has a great piece that picks up where Season 6 left off, too!

Despite my former rude comments about werewolf ballsack fur, I did just start reading resident monsterfucker @callmehopeless’s ‘Honeyed Eyes,’ and found werewolf Clyde absolutely heart-tickling. @ducktapewriting, @insatiable-ivy, and @kathorax are all Clyde darlings, too—check ‘em out! 

@patersonn-kylo writes filthy, filthy, (often) hurt/comfort-oriented ficlets that make me scratch my head and wonder ~how can somefing be so tender and so dirty at same time!?!? how possibel?!~. I’ve also been enjoying @ohdamnadam’s engaging, sexy HCs.

Until very recently, I’d not seen fanfic for Ronnie, Dan, or Rick. I absolutely don’t mean it wasn’t out there—I just hadn’t come across in my limited experience! I am SO, SO BEYOND PSYCHED that these characters are getting more action (lolz, pun sorta intended) recently, and it’s a blast to see the different characterizations writers have for them—including many of the aforementioned authors. I know I’ve not been the best with keeping up on messages/comments recently, but do feel free to @ me with any Ronnie/Dan/Rick content! It truly makes my day when I see it *snuffles* <3

By now, you all likely know I don’t write for Paterson, and it’s not a function of disliking his character—quite the opposite. Mistress G (@ohiobluetip) writes a soft, sweet, kinky, dirty, desperate, darling switch!Paterson so deliciously that I… I simply have no fantasies left unfulfilled to write. It just checks every fucking box for me. I feel like I’m getting custom smut every time she posts; it’s ridiculous. I’m sure you follow her, but if you don’t… Who am I kidding. You follow her Also, PAPI GARUPE? AND DADDY/PROF ZACHARY ADAMS? *screech*

I’ve been seeing oodles more written for Sevier recently, which is so goddamn fun! In particular, I appreciated @umbrielchip000’s thoughtful and refreshing characterization of ace!Sevier.

I’m not the biggest fan of that time period but I’ve been completely won over by the gorgeous juxtaposition of post-war melancholy and finding peace within yourself. Absolutely brilliant.

The lens into Sansa’s character is addictive, and her dynamic with all the characters she encounters including Jon are both stomach clenching and uplifting. It felt like a wild ride with daily updates - and I was eager for each one.

A grab bag of curious. Brutally honest opinion on Daredevil ships (some of which I've seen browsing AO3): Matt/Claire, Fisk/Vanessa, Matt/Vladimir, Fisk/Matt, Fisk/Wesley, Foggy/Marci, Foggy/Karen?

Matt/Claire — I’ve had an ask about them in the past and my answer stays the same; I think they’re sweet but ultimately pretty incompatible because they want different things and Claire is forever fed up with Matt’s antics [my girl just wants to smash and he’s too busy angsting to notice smh] tldr; they’re fine but I don’t ship them

Fisk/Vanessa — this is top-tier romance, truly. like I love to hate them, hate to love them.... I’m enraptured every time they’re on screen and even in the comics they just exude such loyalty and passion. we love to see terrible, murderous people who are capable of such deep love. I want to see more of them. tldr; this is the good shit

Matt/Vladimir — look, I get it. it’s spicy. there’s some obvious homoerotic tension going on in the scenes between these two. that being said, I don’t particularly care to delve into what it could’ve become and I have no real interest here. they’re enemies. tldr; it might be fun for a smut drabble and nothing else

Matt/Fisk — oh boy I do.... not enjoy that concept fhskdjsks I don’t even know what to say about it other than.... I don’t think either party would ever agree to anything about this. maybe as a form of torture on Fisk’s part but.... I dunno, there’s a difference between tension and sexual tension and this is just pure tension here, folks. they’re great foils for each other, and in a way, there’s mutual respect for each other’s strength but beyond that they are enemies, through and through. tldr; it might make a spicy fic but I ain’t gonna read it

Fisk/Wesley — NOW WE’RE TALKIN. am I partial to this idea purely because of @batmurdock and I’s Earth-65 fic where Kingpin Matt Murderdock is married to his right-hand man and bodyguard, Eddie Brock? maybe so. but there’s definite love there. you can FEEL it when Fisk sits down beside Wesley’s body and seems to be unsure whether to kiss his lips or his forehead. and Wesley’s loyalty and seeming wariness/jealousy of Vanessa..... hoo boy. tldr; I’m very into this concept thank you very much

Foggy/Marci — they’re....very cute. ;;; I admit I couldn’t stand Marci when she showed up, but like a lot of the characters, she grew on me as she changed her ways. by the third season, I like them together! a lot! but I think this will always be outweighed by the fact that Foggy clearly still pines after Matt and therefore I think MattFoggy is still the ultimate endgame tldr; sweet but ultimately fleeting

Foggy/Karen — honestly this concept is very sweet and I loved all their scenes together in the show, especially when Mrs. Cardenas thought they were together. they obviously have a lot of love for one another, but Foggy’s conflict with Karen is kind of the same he has with Matt. she’s unpredictable, unable to settle, and has more fire in her than I think Foggy’s bargained for. where I think Foggy’s history with Matt outweighs this, I don’t think he’d be able to do the same for Karen. tldr; I love the idea of this in theory but I don’t think it’d work out

Stress Relief Article for the Stressed Out

This life has a new and unexpected way of keeping your thoughts tangled up in mystery or just the simple things that gives you relief from your current reality. As many of you may have noticed, no matter what tier you are nestled into, happiness always comes into question. So many articles talk about manifesting your spirit to start working on the rapport of extension(sp?). So what’re a few of the points made in order to achieve your one true goal? Many times they will bring up valid points about environment, mental state and “play time” for adults to have the ability to have a feeling of fulfillment. After some digging I found that there are a few good reasons to take into consideration in order to grow in mind, body and spirit.

The environment that you grow up in and the environment you surround yourself with will be two separate factors that has way of determining your intended focus. So let’s talk about the environment you have surrounded yourself in based on your decision making skills. The notion of actions being somewhat contagious can show a bread crumb trail. What I mean by that is, where there is positivity surrounding your waking moments and the negative ones that may influence you into taking on that mindset. One way of negativity is thinking that you are entitled to certain tastes in life, feeling as if you do not have enough or constantly ridiculing every aspect of your life without appreciating what you do have going for you. It is easier to complain about everything you can't control but it seems once that ship as sailed, most find it enlightening to find topics or activities that they love the most to give a positive light within themselves.

Next in line is the mind state that has been constructed from the decision making skills you make during each and every encounter that sets a stage. Whether you have moved, a loner, a social butterfly or anything between, it will affect in a way that your outlook is set on either making friends, managing friendships and all out getting away from the crowds so that you can center yourself. The development is fascinating for this reason: it is imperative to make your mind up. Even being called “bossy” or a “push over” is the way they describe your character because it may be more than their own…or it is that you are reflecting a side of their personality they may not unlock until put into the predicament, so they find it unbearable to currently deal with. In truth your mind can either bend you or break you with your unconscious habits that may emerge when something signals your brain to say, “okay now you can act out.” Believe it or not, there a many simple ways to embrace a clear mindset without claiming to be something your not. Meditation has been practiced for centuries and has left a resonating impact in our communities today. Even in yoga the practice is highly recommended to defeat the limitations your mind has set, leaving room to grow beyond this and allow your body to relieve any tension gathered. The best part is that it takes a little to no time at all because this is apart of your me time. With 15 to 30 minutes on the clock, a difference can be felt rather than just hopping up out if bed to stay on the go. Even taking time to stretch for 10 minutes will leave feeling fresher and more inclined to eat a good breakfast before tackling each day by force.

Which leads to the lasting argument of what “play time” for adults is and how it can be done with the constant hustling throughout the days, weeks and months. Now I’m not saying that sneaking into a playground late at night is necessary, but it can play a role into reliving stress when it is done during the day at the right time. To create a quick example, I myself, enjoy going on swings so that I can lean back and exercise while having the time of my life. Especially the responsibility gene that either develops or dwindles, will become an active partner in how you wish to focus on something else and realize that it IS your responsibility to give yourself time. Here is a better example of how to give yourself the time you deserve: writing poems, journal entries, drawing, sketching, coloring, jumping rope, playing video games, cooking, baking, photography, videography, the works! So don’t feel like you have to sit in on a seminar that you are not going to enjoy nor grasp because each trade you choose has a top tier, so don’t be afraid to take yourself to the top. If you enjoy psychology, working with kids or anything else in that matter, you can make a living with what you love so ignore the one’s that didn’t take the opportunity, swandered it on pointless materials that they later had to sell just to continue their lifestyle of sorts. Create your own lifestyle in which you feel comfortable in and keep at it. Everything will not be for everyone and all you can do is just do your best!

Thank you for taking the time to read this article on a topic that most of us can find struggling, stress and being over encumbered with stress snapping at your heels. It gets rough. Keep these three main totems of enlightening knowledge so that your days may be a bit brighter than the last. None of this will be easy in the beginning because most “shiny” things in life are not always free not do we always want a great mass of lazy effort. In truth, we all want to work for what we are truly worth and earn what we know we are capable of. Follow along for more insightful knowledge, how-to advice and great ways to build your business effectively.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Genn Greymane:

1. I’ve liked him ever since I ran my first worgen through the zone back in Cata. I wouldn’t say he’s in my top favorites but that’s simply because he’s not a type of character I would generally be interested in, no fault of his own. He’s one of the better and more consistently written characters of Warcraft far as I’m concerned.2. His wife, I guess?3. The surrogate father/son relationship he has with Anduin is pretty good BUT but and this is my interpretation, it is not and can never truly be an objective, independent relationship because Genn has never properly grieved or accepted the death of his son (as is evidenced by him still ignoring his daughter), so it feels more like he took Anduin under his wing while being an incomplete person himself - and sometimes the advice he gives Anduin comes from a place of anger or vengeance rather than logic and experience as Anduin hopes. It’s... something, for sure. I have enjoyed following their exchanges. I also love the idea of him and Tyrande bonding over the events in Darkshore.4. He’s an asshole for treating his daughter so indifferently and putting even Anduin over her in his hierarchy of relationships. The only reason I remember he has a daughter at all is because everyone keeps asking where the fuck she is and why he doesn’t speak with/about her. That’s abusive parenting.5. I really hope he will not be written as the bad guy for not trusting the Horde and still wanting vengeance on Sylvanas. That would be a very shitty message to send alongside all your other shitty messages, blizzard :)

Tyrande Whisperwind:

oh boy1. oh boy.[editor’s note: we have redacted around 371 pages out of this, too]I really really loved her and she was probably one of my top favorite characters from WC3 up to recently. Her hypocrisy in Legion left me a bit ??? I do mean both her apparent racism towards the Nightborne for no reason and the fact that while you help her free Malfurion in Val’sharah as a Horde, in front of Suramar she’s like “oh.... you again. I’ll only let you live because you helped me.” which was also a bit ????? As someone who loves elves I do love her but what the fuck is up with the jarring writing for Horde players.Then comes the moment I truly disliked her beyond belief, which is during goddamn War Crimes. She hates orcs and she hates Garrosh, okay, but why the hell is she here.... pinning the crimes of the entire orcish race on him for some reason... Doing her best to try and get witnesses that had NOTHING to do with Garrosh to testify against him and the orcs (which was accepted??) ... She is visibly written as being very very kind towards any Alliance witnesses while ripping so hard into the Horde ones it’s surreal but the most jarring one was Saurfang whom she kept hounding into a full PTSD flashback and lockdown because she didn’t like the fact he had nothing incriminatory to say about Garrosh... Half the narrative describes her as an angel/goddess of justice and that one just gave me “bad preteen fanfic” whiplash.... Honestly it was really really awful. But since then I’ve sort of distanced myself from it and simply decided that was 100% Christie Golden and Chris Metzen and 0% the actual character.Then I restarted loving the fuck out of her during BFA and the... literal goddess of vengeance and justice fanfic tier twist. But at least she’s out here calling things as they are and doing something against Sylvanas while everyone else is twiddling their fucking thumbs going all “golly gee, do y’all think Sylvanas really doesn’t like us?”So... It’s Complicated. I have Feelings over Tyrande, and half the time I’m not even sure what they are.

2. Ironically I think she and Illidan would’ve worked better and this is absolutely because of the thing I mentioned in passing before - Blizzard writers cannot write romance. Malfurion and Tyrande was an end goal all along and like... “a fact” in their mind, so there’s basically no lovey dovey stuff. They kick ass together occasionally and they have each other’s back but there’s no real chemistry? But I would very much rather take this over their usual romance of “let’s argue for the sake of arguments because relationships need arguments”.I know Illidan’s feelings were added in as a bullshit love triangle thing seeing how Malfurion and Tyrande were never a “maybe they won’t be, eh?” thing. Poor Illidan then ends up sounding like a whiny, demanding teenager but at least his FEELINGS are described for her, which is more than we ever get for Malfurion who just .... is. That’s the best I can describe his relationship to her. He is. 

3. Her and Genn killing Sylvanas. But this one almost sounds perverse.

4. I don’t get why she hates orcs this much. No. I really do not. It’s stubbornness, it’s writer bias, it’s something no longer supported by the characterization alone. Yes the orcs chopped down trees. Yes the orcs killed Cenarius (who wasn’t even really dead but let’s not talk about that). But eventually, you gotta forgive and forget. And seeing how she forgives and forgets others for WAY WORSE [editor’s note: a 512 bullet point list including Maiev Shadowsong redacted out], there’s really no basis here other than racism? Which.... again, says bad things about the writers rather than the character.

5. I really wish they’d write her more consistently, that’s about it. I know she’s meant to be the Bad Cop of the Alliance but she’s all over the place. She works with us as Hordies and then tells us to piss off within the same expansion. She hates all orcs but she likes thrall (thanks Metzen.....). Like I said, I can’t even hate the character for this one, this is so obviously the writers being bad it’s just .... sigh. Let’s move on.

Jaina Proudmoore:

1. I love her too. Definitely one of my favorite Warcraft characters, ever since WC3.

2. Arthas. That was an OKAY thing, started really really sweet and we’re gonna ignore the whole rapey vibes of “don’t deny me, Jaina”. Only because I was blessed with seeing the worse version of Kalec’s “why do you have FEELINGS over Theramore still, Jaina? It’s been 3 months why aren’t you OVER seeing ALL your friends die? Don’t you care about MY feelings? SMH, women”. Both romances written by the same writer. Fun, innit?

3. I love what she has with Anduin whenever we’re blessed with them interacting, he always seems to be an anchor point for her even though he’s like half her age. 

4. //takes a deep breath// The high body count at Theramore was because of her, not Garrosh. Supported by Tides of War, not pulled out of my ass. She made the wrong call of not alerting the civilians to evacuate, and of bringing in more people into Theramore, because she was too overconfident in winning that battle. She was the one to tell her apprentice to stay, and so on and so forth. She put up a good fight, but considering the fact that she had a head warning, she could have avoided all that. Garrosh wanted the humans out of immediate Horde land vicinity - it would’ve been the same to him if Jaina took everyone and left Theramore. Although yes, he was hoping Jaina would bring in more Alliance officers so that he could cripple the Alliance army in one blow.I’m not going to cockily blame Jaina that she’s dumb or anything, absolutely not. She made a wrong call. It’s human to make wrong calls. It’s brilliant writing. What further irks me is that this was brushed under the carpet and suddenly the narrative again became a one-sided “Garrosh just came nuke us out of the blue I guess, poor us” as time went on. This is again 110% on the writers and not the characters. But I would’ve loved it to be part of her arc as time went on and she needs to get over the guilt of making a wrong call there too, as she has dealt with the guilt of “allowing” her father to die (it was not her fault that he wanted to fight the orcs, it doesn’t sit right with me when people are blaming her for it, but that’s an entirely different essay and our editors are pointing at the clock).

5. There is.... way too much “blame Jaina” going on in her arc. Blame her for her mother’s choice in the BFA arc (I heard that one too...). Blame her for poor poor Kalec being a manchild and not being able to cope with the concept of ‘woman has feelings and thoughts I disapprove of’. Blame her for Arthas’ descent into insanity.Poor girl has got the lion’s share of bad events in the narrative and I can see how her arc has gone all over the place. The problem is... yeah, I will say it. It’s once again, written badly. Great ideas, written terribly in many places. And in such weird ways, too. She is absolved of blame of things she does do (eg her people invading Southern Barrens and razing the tauren settlements - which is what prompted Garrosh to retaliate and raze Theramore but the writers and the fanbase claim was just a sudden, random thing). And then she is blamed for things she doesn’t do and would never logically be responsible for at all, like the choices of her father or her lovers? It’s just ........ it’s.......it’s Something for fucking sure.....What’s that saying? There’s so much to unpack here, let’s just burn the suitcase and call it a day?
