I loved it! The eldritch machine horror, the looming question of humanity's capacity to engage with intelligent life beyond ourselves, the precious and adorable little cellphones! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

I was pleasantly surprised by how much the show made me care about Takimoto through Seven! Mr. Haunting the Narrative...Mr. Literal Ghost in the Machine...

The more episodic episodes were (as usual with longer series) a little hit or miss? The show does drama a bit better than comedy generally, and the characters that are mainly in the comedic segments do suffer a bit from that, but that's not the end of the world to me. When the show gets it right, it gets it right. It's a lot like Robot Detective K in that respect.

I wonder if it would do well in a shorter form animated series, like Kikaider. I feel like it's so intensely 2008 that you couldn't do it now though.

Might have something to do with the condescending attitude of people implying that enjoying it is WrongBadFun, which is a surefire way to bias people against your favorite indie game.

Particularly the ones that don't actually match the interests of the players being condescended to, or which are pitched with things like "it's rules light, none of all that crunch in the way" when a lot of people who play it like crunchy rule stuff.

Y'all aren't pitching your games when you behave like this, you're making fun of something the D&D players enjoy, and that's going to make them a hostile audience. You're not going to win anyone over by insulting them and implying they play something Bad and Nasty - particularly when it's likely something they love more for the hacks and homebrews they've done to patch it up, making it a customized version of the core game.

The ones who are making converts are the ones going "okay, so what do you like about it?" and then helping them find games that match those likes. The ones offering lists of games and explaining where they align and where they differ. The people who, in other words, respect that the people they're pitching to are already enjoying themselves and that they need to show them ways to have that enjoyment elsewhere.
