kinda interesting how Mike has two big speeches throughout the show, both when a character he cares for is close to death and needs help but only one strictly calls for him reminding them of a cherished past moment yet he chooses to use the same formula for both, telling them about how they met and how it made him feel, almost as if he was struggling the second time and relied on what he knew worked the first time to try and help..

#cause i think its actually so random that he chose to confess his 'love' to her and tell her about how they met in this moment #because why would that help?? #they actually had no idea what was happening whilst El was piggybacking except that she seemed to be choking so #what part of that called for a love confession and a trip down memory lane? #compared to with Will where reminding him of important or happy memories was the actual key to helping him... #cant blame Mike though really the poor boy was panicking at least he tried #i will continue to push the parallels between these speeches / monologues im not crazy #stranger things #byler #will byers #mike wheeler #el hopper #platonic elmike

2019

The Five People Who Missed Peter Parker the Most, as it is my first fic and will forever be my favorite. I put so much of myself in it and I'm so very proud of it.

2020

Not Just a Machine because it was (I think?) the first Detroit:Become Human AU and because it was so much fucking work and yet I loved it so fucking much!!!!!

2021

Indirect Proof because this was also a year in the making. I put so much time, thought, and effort into every single part of this fic. I love it so much.

2022

from the sidelines, because of how much love and time I put into it. My magnum opus perhaps!

2023 (thus far)

ghosts that we knew simply because it was four years in the making and was (still is???) the only biodad AU I know that wrote the inverse.

36. What fic are you proudest of?

2019

Five Times Peter Made Michelle Laugh because it was my first 5+1! It's still one of my favorite genres of fics even if I don't write it as much. I miss that time period and writing this little nudged to the left thing was so exciting.

2020

Your Hand in Mine because it was an unintentional post IW/EG rewrite that I didn't intend to write. It was originally something SO different but I'm really proud that I made my own contribution to this trope.

2021

Like a Wall of Stars because it created the Woobeau tag bitches! This isn't the first (or the last) time I created something for the first time on AO3 but it's one that I'm still so giddy and proud that I was able to do and do with love.

2022

when you help someone, you help everyone because post NWH fics with Peter & New York City are still so frustratingly rare. I'm very proud of this one and the emotions it conveys.

2023 (thus far)

point of view, quite simply because it might be the fic that takes me over 100k? it's one that I absolutely did NOT expect to become anything more than what it is and yet.

2019

Someday We'll Know, simply because it was the first of my fics to "blow up" - it got so much attention and love that while flattering, made me a little nervous at the time because I was still so new.

2020

Insult to Injury, not because it was actually difficult but because a Morgan POV that intentionally wanted to disrupt some fandom tropes? I was concerned how people would react to it. That it did so well was very gratifying.

2021

No Need to Say Goodbye because everyone knows how much I despise the May Dies trope to my very core. Writing my own attempt at this misogynistic trope was an exercise in grief that fucked me up for a bit.

2022

into the dark because it was the first (and probably last lmao) time I ever wrote a time loop fic, one that I made harder myself by writing it in MJ's POV and not Peter's. I'm so proud of it but hot damn was it hard to think about and plot.

2023 (thus far)

when you move, i move, simply because fandom is horrendous and spideydevil is automatically thought of as an age gap. it's not! they existed before the MCU! alas.

This Never Happened Before which was The Lake House AU I spent a whole ass year talking about before I finally wrote it. Very gorgeous to me!!

My Tears Are Becoming a Sea was a fic I never thought I'd write? Parkner? Peter at MIT?? What the hell? Never let anyone say spite can't fuel you lmao I'm very proud of this fic and what it wanted to say

This was such a hard one. I only do ao3 nowadays, so I started to think waaaaay back when I was a teeny weeny child exploring the internet getting my fanfiction fix. I used to read (and write, oh god) only in Finnish in a Finnish HP fanfiction forum, which became my internet home. I met some of my closest friends on that forum 🫶🫶 These fics are an essential part of my lore so enjoy these three early 2000's stories:

This was my favorite fic at some point. Harry had a massive glow up during the summer (aka he got rid of his glasses???) and became the hottest shit in Hogwarts. Everybody and their mothers were thirsting after him. I ate this up and left no crumbs. This story features *a lot* of asterisks, and is the most unhinged shit ever. All the POVs are so fucking hilarious. I'm still low-key loving this 22 years after it was published. Not the freshest fic by far as what comes to it’s contents so yeah it’s a bit sus

I absolutely love this fic so much and now re-reading it made me so happy, I could feel the ecstasy love oozing from me as well as the comedown. I really had no idea of anything when I first read this, so now that I'm older and wiser and done my fair share of stuff it just hits different

Still nothing new to share (thanks work) so today's snippet is from Home is Where My Ghost is, my very first willex story from almost exactly three years ago (October 4th, 2020). It's a little disjointed because I wasn't sure if I would write more for this ship (hah!) and definitely not my best willex story but there's still parts I really like. Like their spontaneous date in Paris or the part where Julie gets to meet Willie.

recently I've been feeling like there's been a real rut in my art and that I've hit a plateau. so out of pure boredom I gathered up all of my physical sketchbooks I could find (12) and I decided to look at the very first one which coincidentally I also did when I was...12 years old. and looking at it and comparing it to my recent art it made me feel so much better about the plateau I've found myself in. eventually there will be a time when I look back on the art I've created now and say yeah I have improved so it brings me a bit of relief

I would say my sketchbooks full of my childhood drawings! I have so many! I think the earliest ones are from when I was aged like 5-7? I didn't date them all! I look at them to get inspired or when I'm sad.

An old friend of mine I hadn't seen in years visited me! They told me they were glad my smile was big and exactly like they remembered. That I was as warm and kind as the first day we met. That I never changed and was genuine. I'll never forget it!
