How did the thin man learn to read and talk in your au? Did the tower force him to watch educational videos during his time? I'm sorry if this question has already been answered at some point in your stories.

That is actually a wonderful question, and has never been answered directly in the au. Not yet, or clearly anyway.

In Tune the Transmission, when the Thin Man (Mono) was left to the Tower, he was still very happy and proud of his speek - and other... well say certain events, let him keep and develop it fully. In the 'Sanctuary' the Tower offered, he was allowed to babble to his hearts content, and fully fledge out his speek.

The reading bit is much more complicated, but it is a testament to the Thin Man's and Mono's intelligence - or the 'Detective' attributes they share. The Thin Man taught himself to read by piecing together the different symbols from the books he browsed through. it's not the same as learning the alphabet and then understanding pronunciation and syllables, and the complexities that is within language and reading. He doesn't recognize how to spell a word, as much as he knows the sequence of symbols that make the word what it is. For example, when Thin Man was Mono, he would have looked at a simple kids book and seen the word 'bird', but he can't deconstruct the symbols that make the bird word. He just knows these symbols ' B-I-R-D" mean bird. And due to the powers of omniscient narrative for english speakers, any mess with conjectures and adjectives are doctored up for readers.

The Thin Man doesn't even speek or known the language that is used on the signs or billboards, or whatever was once the national language of the Pale City. He and Mono don't even speek english, they generate sounds, like all the creatures, monsters, and of course the children do in this au.

This is what makes the whole "How does name sound" aspect so confusing and confounding, when Mono tried to learn how to "make Six's" name. She taught herself a different speek (or sounds) than what Mono could produce.

The whole - he does not have a formal education - does stump the Thin Man in many varied divisions of language and literary prowess. He, like the kids, has a lapse in understanding in diverse genres, fiction and non-fiction especially. He tends to overlook other details in his 'study' busy, due to the literacy gymnastics that is native to Pale City/Nowhere. It's all forgivable, since the man had to brute force his way to literary competence, even it's all a broken mess.

just curious - am I the only one who's kind of... hurt about the lack of presence the ancient Sheikah tech/the Champions seem to have in TotK so far? it feels like the narrative is trying to pretend the concept of an ancient civilization with cool tech that brings the peoples of Hyrule together to fight Ganon(dorf) is completely new, but it's... not? especially since it's a sequel to BotW, the fact that so much stuff from BotW seems to be forgotten makes me very sad. (especially as a Revali fan)

It's too early in the game for me to properly reply to this question I'm afraid 😅 (and, as a general warning to anyone reading this: please do not spoil me. I have all tags blacklisted for a reason).

I'd rather not get into in-depth discussions just yet, but so far I don't mind the strong shift from Sheikah to Zonai (given how prevalent current Sheikah tech is). Yes, I miss the Divine Beasts just chilling deactivated at their posts, for instance, but the map is already packed full of new stuff to see so... I get it. It would just be clutter, both visually and lore-wise. They're expecting old players to fill in the gaps themselves, and I'm extremely used to doing so.

And I've only been to the Rito area so I can't speak for the others, but yeah... there I agree. I would appreciate it if they acknowledged Revali by name at least a little. I get why they don't do it, but it can be jarring at times, especially with how often his name was dropped amongst the Rito in BOTW.

Still, like I said before, I'm so used to filling in the gaps in my own head that it's very easy for me to overlook such things if I'm having fun XD We'll see if that holds up!

Assuming you’re still into the miraculous au, how did our favorite dog and rabbity thing get their miraculouses in the first place?

Okay, so. Here’s what I’m thinking:

The Miraculous box basically takes the place of the Devil’s Toybox in this AU. The previous Miraculous Holders are mostly the same, but the society that protects it is more Egypt-centric than China-centric. The Miraculous Box, like the Devil’s Toybox, was eventually brought from Egypt to America sometime in the late 18th century.

Though the ancestors of the Boxists are spread throughout the world, most members of the secret society forgot about the artifacts entirely in a memory-related incident sometime around the loss of the Peacock and Moth Miraculous. Unlike in Miraculous Canon, these two artifacts were split, and most of their owners didn’t realize the artifact’s potential - the Peacock Miraculous was looted by pirates, and eventually sold to a merchant in New York, who passed it down as a family heirloom (which is how Momma Bosco eventually ended up with it). The Moth miraculous was lost to pawn shops, yard sales and swap meets, and eventually ended up in Hue Bliss’s possession when he was just a down-on-his-luck queer kid looking for a new start in NYC. He discovered the power of the Miraculous, and used it to build his cult. He was a bit of a shadow villain, puppeting prominent figures, and has only started causing more visible mayhem recently.

The only person who remembers everything about the Miraculous is the current guardian, a man who is smart enough to never reveal anything about himself, and goes by “The Commissioner.” He’s been trying to find the missing Miraculous for ages, and now he has to deal with these Akumas??? He’s getting too old for this shit.

Meanwhile, Sam’s just about to start his first year at the New York College of Art and Random Studies (NYCARS for short) and Max is tagging along even though he can’t afford the tuition and didn’t even really try applying for any colleges. Granny Ruth gave them an apartment to stay in, one that was passed down to her by her late father, Sameth.

While Sam went to his first day of class, Max started wandering the city in search of jobs and trying to get a feel for the neighborhood. He’d already gotten a few gigs doing some modeling work for the art classes at the college Sam was going to, but he figured they couldn’t be too prepared, even if they didn’t have to worry about New York’s famously relentless rent costs. He still didn’t want Sam having to deal with student loans if he couldn’t help it.

While he was wandering, he started hearing screams coming from down the street. He rushed towards the danger instead of away, and saw a monster attacking everyone.

The Commissioner was just about to use one of the Miraculous to fight the akumatized victum when he saw a white rabbity college-aged boy wearing nothing but a crop top and some booty shorts launch himself at the monster and sink his teeth into it. He was immediately impressed.

Sam called Max as soon as class was done, and Max put the phone on speaker and immediately let his best friend know what the fuck was up. Sam ended up strategizing with Max mid-fight, and they met in Central Park, Max riding the darn thing right into a trap the two buddies made together. The Commissioner saw the whole darn thing, and knew immediately that they would make the perfect crime-fighting duo.

But Hue Bliss got to Max while the Commissioner was busy trying to get the Ladybug Miraculous to Sam, and offered him a modeling job promoting his books. Max already knew a little bit about Celebrity Queer Icon Hue Bliss, latched onto the opportunity to have a stable job with someone he already kinda idolized. The Commissioner left them both their respective miraculous, with strict orders (via note) not to tell ANYONE about it. The Kwami emphasized this point, telling them about how they had lost their friends.

Sam wanted to tell Max immediately, but, well… rules are rules for a reason, right? Meanwhile, Max was ecstatic at the idea of a secret identity. In one day, he 1)fought a giant monster, 2)got a stable job modeling for Queer Icon Hue Bliss’s projects, and 3)got SUPER POWERS. BEST. DAY. EVER!!!!!!

today i discovered there's a pokemon called Klinklang and that is such a funny word it brought me immense joy so thought id share

it’s even better than that!! Klinklang is the final evolution of two other pokemon

the first one is called Klink (can you tell where this is going already? 😉)

then this guy(s??) evolves into… guess what 🥰 Klang!!

so their final evolution is just those two names mushed together, which is both incredibly stupid and a stroke of pure genius that will never be repeated

Appearance: I am South Asian with long wavy black hair. Usually tie my hair in a half ponytail at the back because I like how it looks and I don't really like the feeling of hair on my shoulders. I am 165 cm tall and reasonably fit

Personality: I'm calm, collected and hardworking. I can be a bit aloof and arrogant sometimes, but I make sure it doesn't get out of hand. I am curious and perfectionistic, and I'm also pretty academically smart (though I sometimes struggle with impostor syndrome lol). The gifted kid burnout syndrome is catching up, though. People say I do have a bit of a cold facade, but once they get to know me, they say I'm much warmer and gentler than they initially thought. I care deeply for my friends and my family, so I'll do whatever I can for them. I do face a lot of pressures too from having to be the perfect oldest daughter, the therapist friend (despite psychology not being my major, more of a special interest) and from having to do well in school (as much as I enjoy engineering, it is kicking my ass low-key). It may not look like it, but I'm very much a romantic, but I'm more practical about it, if that makes any sense 😅😅

I often bake my closest friends and family a cake on their birthday with a silly message written on it. I also has a soft spot (special interest) for outer space and love to stargaze wherever the skies are clear. Don't know if this is important, but I do make some pretty mean South Asian food, if I do say so myself. My younger sister says that my Ras Malay especially slaps

Likes: Books, herbal tea, art, lofi hip-hop, video games, anime, drawing, spicy food, affogato, outer space, cats (tho I really like all animals)

So, where to start? I think you and Belphie would get along well. The chill vibes with the Lofi- and the stars? Absolutely. Both of you would find time to relax in the conservatory behind the music room when life in the Devildom got a little too hectic, and well even together that wouldn't change. (bonus points for it being behind the music room so you can play some soft background music for mucho relaxed vibes)  

Though you would probably get along super well with all the brothers, I think you would find your time around Belphie to be more grounding than the others' chaotic shenanigans. He would listen to you talk about the stars of the human world, (though it may lull him to sleep, not because he is bored but because your voice and presence are comforting and pleasant.) Or, he could even tell you the differences between your human stars and the endless night sky of the devildom.

Sure, he sleeps through most lessons and will dig at you for being such a straight-shooter student, but he will probably ask you for your notes over Satan or his other brothers. Partly because they are easy to understand and partly because it gives him more time to spend with you.

this really has little to do with the match but more bonus points so I'm going to add it here, you will never find any itchy fabrics anywhere around this boy, we all know he is the king of comfort! Only soft and pleasant fabrics here! Be that clothes, blankets or pillows he's got them all and if it means making you happy he would even share his favourite pillow with you. (though you may become his personal body pillow if you choose to nap with him.

I think Belphie would be there to help you break out of the mindset that you have to be the perfect, daughter, friend or student reminding you it's more than okay to just be yourself, take a break and let yourself mentally and emotionally recharge. He may be the youngest brother but he was still an older brother to Lilith after all, he can at least understand your burning desire to protect those you love and would be by your side to help you do so.

After talking over your ask for a while, Calla 💚and I agreed that the best butler in all of the Devildom would be a good match for you before deciding Belphie would be your main match so we made Barb your second choice/HM. But I got a question out of curiosity: are there any stories went conversely? Like, Link thought Revali is a jackass but he later found out The Bird is actually an earnest idiot or sth

Ohhh that's a good question! I know for a fact there are some, but I can't remember them for the life of me (at least not the ones that focus more on the canonish verse).

hi anon, i hope you didn't mind the wait for me to answer this ask! wanted to put some thought into it 🙏

for the p3 actor au i think these could be some fun thoughts. mostly blooper/cut-content oriented because i'm that kind of person:

elizabeth's actress is one of those people who literally lives their role (nearly identical to it), even when the cameras aren't rolling. i love thinking about SEES hanging out and they're like "you know we aren't filming, right?" (but they appreciate her quirky nature)

minato's actor sometimes brings his switch to set and may play it during his break times. i like to think that at some point his headphones accidentally unplug while he's playing and then whatever scene going on needs to be refilmed because there was a "WOOMY" noise in the background.

i think that aigis and ryoji's actors should be best friends, actually. as a treat. this is self-indulgent of me, really. unfortunately i can't elaborate.

re: aigis's costume design, i think that there won't be much green-screening needed (since cosplayers have managed to make the design before! which is really impressive!). compared to everyone else though, i think she'd have the longest make-up routine/prep-time... sorry to aigis's actress 😔

pharos would be played by a child actor and i think he should be friend's with ken's actor. i don't know how that would work but ken should have some more people his age on set tbh 🤧

ryoji's actor definitely got his scarf snagged on something during filming... maybe the escalator at port island station...? in a similar vein, i would not be surprised if chidori's headband or aigis's shoulder part fell off mid-filming and they had to take a temporary break afterwards.

on the show's social media, for halloween, the cast took a special featherman-inspired photo! but also i think it'd be cute if the actors went to a haunted house together and filmed their interactions.... not that it'd be much scarier than tartarus, LOL. i can see yukari just being fed up with junpei's attempt to make the visit even scarier than it needs to be.

i think if anything about the show/set would be leaked online... it would be through junpei's instagram live or something like that 😔 i am very sorry about this but also i think that junpei would be very happy and proud of the cast's work. he'd just be so happy and be like "HEY GUYS check out what the director sent-" and all the comments is everyone else telling him "NO"

i think shinjiro, fuuka, and hamuko would occasionally cook group meals for the set! nothing beats a good ol' home-made meal! 🥺 and really, i think shinjiro would make nice gestures and just help the others on cast a lot, even after october 4th is filmed.

also something that has vaguely crossed my mind: "the cast of persona 3 reads your tweets / posts." specifically akihiko and mitsuru... i just think that they'd both be fun yknow 🥴

this is silly but i think that during december 3rd when ryoji comes and gives his lil' info-dump on what SEES has to do- he should sneeze in the middle of it. ruin the immersion y'know 😎

also in general i think it's cute whenever there's cast interviews or "see how well the cast members know each other" (and those kind of things..?). other than the full-cast, i think i can see there being group interviews with the senpai trio™ (mitsuru, akihiko, shinjiro), ryominaigis + hamuko, the second years (fuuka + junpei + yukari), etc. etc. any grouping could make for some fun questions!

and lastly.. obligatory ryomina because this is me we're talking about... ryoji has absolutely gone off script during some scenes. i could see him either referencing that one evangelion thing (i was born to meet you) or just turning it into a confession scene... LMAO.

okay that was. a LOT more thoughts than i thought i had, oops!! admittedly i have not thought about this au in FOREVER so it was nice to think about it again!!! i tried to make it a bit more balanced in terms of giving more than one character spotlight

Is Otto good, bad or neutral in your AU?

Otto is an idiot child-man.

I and @i-think-in-metaphors duel perform Otto for Thin Therapy, and we've pushed him sort of a guy who is getting in over his head, but willing to anything in his power to find his sister Cici.

He would qualify as a neutral individual, he'll say whatever it takes and do whatever he needs to, all for his selfish wish-fulfulment.

I would appreciate hearing more from Sith about their interpretations and how they drove Otto.

You write about the ways that humans interact and connect with each other and with themselves. It’s truly beautiful and I will read your works over and over even if they’re never updated.
