Oh my god I’ve missed you! And everyone for that matter. I just thought what the hell I’ll check my inbox for fun. I finally logged into tumblr after a long time. I’ve definitely changed my pfp from haikyuu to genshin but I don’t recall changing my URL! (I’m not even that obsessed with genshin anymore lol)

It really has been a long two years… I’ll be 23 in less than a month and it’s crazy I started this blog at 19. If you see this my lovely teddy bear anon, I hope you also tell me how you’ve been!

The last two years was a blast, I moved out, worked, paid my own way through college and rent. I graduated, granted it took five years but I did take a bit off from university! And I am more than thankful. I’m still looking for a job, I’ve since moved home but my parents can no longer hold anything against me now. I might switch career paths from what I studied but I’ll stick to what I did for at least 3 years for now. I have a boyfriend of one year (plus two months!) now and he absolutely adores when I gush about my fandoms and theories. Vice versa when he talks about his interests (mainly video games and the best I can explain which is STONKS but like for CSGO [at least currently]). Literally he’s a man written by a woman that came out of my fanfic dreams. Oh and we play games with each other sometimes and watch all the anime xD

During the past two years I was pretty burnt out I had no obsession which made me extra espresso depresso. But I’m on medication and doing a lot better that I’m able to once again be obsessed with a fandom (main: one piece. Secondary: Honkai star rail).

And that’s the tldr! Adulthood sucks but my friends and I still text and catch up when we can. And my boyfriend lives about 30 minutes away which isn’t too bad for me :3 (pre moving back home and even now that I’m back home xD)

I think about fly high baby sometimes… I still have yet to reread it cus DAMN did that hit me in the feels.

Kuroo Tetsurou wasn’t what everyone actually knew him to be. To everyone else, he was charismatic, a scheming bastard, a somewhat respectable volleyball captain, and a science nerd with crazy charms that could get people to just instantly like him.

He’s good at making connections that way.

But to you, you knew him as that shy little kid that you grew up with. A shy little kid who would follow you and Kenma around. His father wasn’t around much, if at all, his mother nonexistent, and his grandparents would give him the type of doting all grandparents do. He didn’t have any siblings either.

Which was probably why Kuroo would always hang out with you when he’d get the slightest bit bored with playing video games all the time with Kenma (this was before Kuroo got Kenma to play volleyball with him).

Now he’s someone who’s easy to talk to. Kuroo could literally pick up a conversation with someone on the train and actually hold a conversation with them.

There were always some days where you’d see the same little kid though. Sometimes he’s hesitant when it came to leading the volleyball club. A side Kuroo didn’t want to ever show his teammates; he was the captain after all, he had to keep the image that he was an unmoving pillar. Especially if he wanted to make the Battle at the Trash Heap happen.

You got to see all sides of Kuroo and grow up beside him unlike anyone else (well, maybe except Kenma)

Maybe that’s one of the reasons why you fell in love with him.

Love. Maybe that’s too strong of a word. But that’s what you felt it was.

You don’t know how it happened. You just knew that the strong platonic feelings you had for him growing up eventually evolved into something new. You remembered when you were in middle school when a classmate asked if you liked Kuroo or Kenma and all you could do in response was gag.

But now in your third year of high school as you sat with Kuroo and the rest of the volleyball club at lunch you realized it was something different.

“You like him, don’t you?” Yaku asked one day, munching on the little cute octopus sausages he stole out of your bento. Kuroo, was luckily out of earshot talking to the others.

You felt heat rise up your neck and before you could reply to the libero, he laughed.

“Don’t worry, I won’t say anything but I think you should tell him,” Yaku turned to look at Kuroo where your gaze already was. Except, you could only give him a deadpan look.

“Really? And ruin our friendship?” You scoffed, taking away your bento from him so he couldn’t steal anymore. “No thanks.”

“I’m just saying, he looks at you the same way you look at him!” Yaku said smugly. “Besides, the other day Lev was mentioning how pretty you are and Kuroo told him to stay away from you.”

A glimmer of hope entered your chest at the thought of Kuroo reciprocating your feelings. But, that couldn’t be possible, right? Kuroo was just protective over you, you are close friends.

“What’s the worse that can happen, he says ‘no’ and you guys continue being friends. And, if he really ends a friendship over something like that he’s a dumbass and it means you deserve better.”

Luckily for you, the worst that did happen was Kuroo Tetsurou did not feel the same way and you continued being friends.

But at this point, fuck. At this point, you wish he broke everything off.

You wish he’d be an asshole and break whatever friendship you had with him. Because now seeing him with his girlfriend, months later, it hurt so so much more.

Because every goddamn day since you confessed to him, you wished Kuroo would show up outside your window with flowers and your favorite snacks and tell you that he lied, that he did like you back but he was just too stupid to see it. Or that he was too scared.

Instead, he got himself a girlfriend. Someone you couldn’t even bring yourself to hate because she was just too nice.

“You and Tetsu have been friends since elementary, right?” She asked you, pulling her knees up to her chest as she sat beside you. She lay her head against her legs and stared up at you.

“Yeah,” you replied, trying to swallow down that little bit of pain that was lodged in your throat. Kuroo had asked you to stick around with her during practice so that she didn’t feel lonely. And of course, you couldn’t say no to him. Part of you believed it could be so that he could break up with her after practice, then ask you out.

But you knew that wouldn’t happen.

“That’s really cool,” she smiled, staring back at the court to stare at her boyfriend, at your best friend that you have a crush on. “You don’t see much platonic friendships like yours. I thought you guys were dating so I didn’t think I had any chance with Tetsu.”

You gritted your teeth then coughed into your fist and stood up abruptly, “Sorry, I need to use the restroom real quick.”

Staring at yourself in the mirror in the restroom, your eyes being bloodshot red, you came to the conclusion of one thing. If you wanted to be happy again, you’d have to be the one to cut things off with Kuroo. You had to get over him.

It wasn’t too hard to avoid Kuroo. Besides, the school year was ending in a few months. Then you’d be off to university and luckily, you weren’t heading to the same one as him.

Kuroo stared at your back as you walked straight past him, a tick mark appearing on his forehead. His grip on his girlfriend’s hand tightened and she could only glance between the two of you with a confused glance. Kenma, stood off to the side, a small sigh leaving his mouth.

“Do you know why they’ve been avoiding me?” Kuroo asked Kenma. Kenma side-eyed him.

“I think you should know, Kuroo,” Kenma replied, walking off to his own classroom instead. He didn’t like third-wheeling Kuroo and his girlfriend without you.

Kuroo sighed, then looked down at his girlfriend, “I’ll be back, I’m gonna see if they’re alright.” Kuroo kissed the top of her head before letting go of her hand to walk after you.

He knew there was one place you’d be. The one place where you always go to catch a breath of fresh air.

Ironically, it was near a little alleyway of sorts, where a lot of cats always gathered.

And Kuroo was right.

You sat on the ground, petting a few stray cats as you ate your lunch all by your lonesome.

“Why are you avoiding me?” Kuroo asked, straight to the point. He didn’t want to beat around the bush, not with how you’ve been avoiding him for weeks on end. With graduation around the corner, he wanted to spend as much time with the people he loved the most. Even if he didn’t love you in the way you wanted.

You turned your head quickly towards his voice, your eyes wide.

“Tetsurou, hey,” you reply calmly, as calm as you could. It was inevitable that he’d come to find you.

“Why are you avoiding me?” He repeated.

“I-uhm. I’m not,” you replied. “I just need some space from everything. Just a little stressed is all.”

Which wasn’t wrong. And sometimes you would need space from everyone. Maybe not this long but... Hopefully he’d buy it.

“That’s bullshit, what did I do wrong? And what can I do to fix it?” Kuroo asked, nearly begged as he approached you. Instead, you stood up quickly, the cats already scuttering away, and backed away from him. Kuroo stopped, instead opting to wait for a reply.

All you could do was smile and glance off to the side. A light spring breeze flowing through this odd alleyway.

“Nothing, Tetsu, there’s nothing you can do.”

Working in healthcare wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows, it never was. Sometimes it paid off because you made a difference, helped changed lives for the better. But on some days, it was harder. 

On some days, lives were lost. 

And on those days you wondered, what if you tried harder, what if you were better at your job? What if you were faster? 

What if, what if, what if--

The door to your shared apartment opened up and closed promptly, bringing you out of your thoughts. It wasn’t the first time you saw Daichi today, despite the two of you working all day. But seeing as he was usually a first responder as a firefighter medic, he was there when he brought victims after a horrid accident. 

An accident that caused you, someone who didn’t work in the ER, to work within the ER department. 

“Hey,” Daichi said softly, opening the door to the bedroom. “Takeout’s on it’s way, I’m gonna shower real quick, alright?” He smiled at you which you returned. But the two of you both knew it was a smile that reached neither of your eyes, a tired smile because despite how much energy was zapped out of the two of you, you both wanted to smile for each other at least. 

You snuggled deeper under the blankets, closing your eyes, the sound of the shower running as background noise. 

Apparently you fell asleep, Daichi slowly shook you awake, your eyes fluttering open. The smell of your favorite takeout wafting into your room but if you were being honest, you weren’t very hungry. 

Instead, you grabbed Daichi’s hand on your shoulder and tugged on him. A gentle smile appeared on his face and you knew he was feeling just the same as you. He settled down on the bed next to you, pulling you in close to his sturdy chest. The smell of his body wash giving you a sense of comfort. 

You wrapped your arms around him, your fingers softly dancing across his back as he squeezed you tight. Silent words of comfort were exchanged between the two of you. It wasn’t the first something like this had happened but you knew this too will pass. 

As long as you had Daichi and Daichi had you, everything would be alright. 

The takeout was long forgotten, you listening to his heartbeat as you drifted back to sleep. Slowly, the soft caress his thumb left on your back and your hair came to a stop as he too fell asleep to your breathing. 

It wouldn’t be until later in the night the two of you would wake up to eat, then go back to sleep because at least the two of you had the next day off together.

Kuroo wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer into his chest with you sitting between his legs. A small blanket covered the two of you as you both sat on the roof of the borrowed car.

It was a relatively chilly night with the added cool touch from the metal of the car. But with Kuroo holding you tight against him and the somewhat measley blanket draped over you two, you and him never felt warmer. As long as you were together, it’s not like anything else mattered.

You were a bit preoccupied, feeling the rumbling of his chest as he pointed out particular constellations out in the night sky. Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. Or the Big Dipper and even Orion’s Belt.

There was just something soothing, listening to Kuroo excitedly talk about how he was finally able to bring you out on a stargazing date.

“Hey, are you falling asleep on me?” Kuroo lightly scolded you. He sounded like he was offended but he was far from angry. He found it endearing if anything considering you were jumping off the walls just a few minutes ago in the drive here.

You hummed in response, opening up your eyes to stare up at him, “No?”

Kuroo chuckled, placing a kiss on top of your head, letting you rest back against him comfortably. One of his hands reached for both of yours and immediately you found yourself playing with his fingers. Feeling each rough callouses from his many years of playing volleyball back in high school.

“We can head back if you want,” Kuroo suggested. You shake your head smiling as you being his hand up to your lips, kissing it.

“No, I like hearing you talk about the stars.”

Kuroo flushed red, the tips of his ears garnering some heat as well. He was glad you were facing forward away from him, he knows you would tease him endlessly as payback for his many times he’s teased you.

“Yeah, yeah,” Kuroo tried brushing it off. You lightly laughed, opting to not tease him because you knew you flustered him. You kinda wanted to keep the peace. Instead, you rested your hands back down, continuing to play with his fingers.

Kuroo continued talking about the different constellations and stars among the night sky. His free hand gesturing towards the ones that appeared during this time of year in Japan. And as you fell asleep, listening to the rumbling in his chest along with his heart beat, Kuroo couldn’t help but stare at you longingly.

If you asked him to, Kuroo would gladly pick every star from the night sky to give to you, no matter how many there were.

🐨 what is Genshin Impact???

BADJAJDJJS genshin impact is a mobile and PC gacha game! it’s really fun and very much open world. a lot of people compare it to breath of the wild and indeed it is similar but it still holds its own! usually i’m not a fan of gacha games because of gacha hell but, the story, lore, and characters keep me intrigued that i basically play every day (just to do dailies.,,,,,, which won’t make sense unless you play the game lol)

OKAY THIS WAS DEF NOT AN HOUR BUT I GOT CAUGHT UP WITH OTHER STUFF HHH,,, here’s my thoughts on oikawa!

oikawa, like OP said, is hated right from the start. there’s just no way you can like him lol. he’s made out to be this egocentric, loud ass person who steals the spotlight and immediately makes you cringe from how “charming” he can be. what i love about him, though, is that his facade is so convincing it convinces us as the watchers/readers that that’s all he is. no one questions it, even though this trope of the confident playboy being insecure is so so so so SO common. it’s in almost every story i know, in some way shape or form. but when we see oikawa (at least when i saw him) i didn’t think “oh he’s so broken inside.” i just wanted to scream in his face in frustration. he had us ALL fooled, which to me is so interesting, because he must’ve had so much practice to where he must even convince himself sometimes that he’s this all powerful human being. that he has no flaws. that he’s, basically, immortal.

but then you get to the eps where he loses. again, and again, and again. and suddenly you’re just- you’re whiplashed, because this isn’t the oikawa you were shown. it’s a completely different person; someone who cries in frustration from not living up to his own expectations, someone who breaks down easily, someone who almost punched his JUNIOR because he didn’t know how else to expression his anger with himself. in other words, oikawa has the biggest fucking superiority complex that i know in an anime character thus far. he acts like he’s the absolute best, but by god he doesn’t actually think that. and that’s where i personally start to relate, hardcore.

as someone who has grown up with parents who push their daughter to get good grades, i am someone who has naturally high standards for myself. i’ve had multiple people, ranging from close friends to teachers to even my own parents themselves, tell me, “stop being so harsh on yourself.” “you’re doing fine, don’t sweat it.” “you are your hardest critique!” but it’s never that easy! it is NEVER that fucking easy. i know this, which is why it’s so clear for me to see where oikawa comes from. that constant longing for more, the constant comparisons. i compare every little thing about myself to other people, and i see that in oikawa. oikawa just wants to be enough — and not for iwaizumi, not for seijoh, not for the entire world. he wants to be enough for himself.

oikawa has always worked so so so so hard for his goals. he’s overdone himself a hundred times over, but he’s STILL going. even now, past the haikyuu ending, i like to think he’s constantly improving because he is still not satisfied. that’s what i love about oikawa, but also hate. he is already enough for everyone including himself, so why keep going? i don’t even know myself, but i do know that i keep going because i feel like i need to uphold these standards i’ve set for myself. so i guess he does that too, with a mixture of wanting to prove himself over and over.

overall, oikawa is, to me, the stupidest character in haikyuu. he’s a bitch and he’s flawed and he’s a pain to deal with, but that makes him human. that makes him relatable. i love him for it. —🧸

i love oikawa too because there’s a part where if i were there and actually knew Oikawa, I would’ve seen him as someone with natural talent. But because this is a show and we can see the thoughts of every character... WE know that’s not true. Which also makes me wonder how many people we see as talented is actually just someone who put in work.

DAICHI AND HIS FOUR LITTLE SIBLINGS MAKES MY HEART THROB OH MY GOD i like the idea that two of them are much younger but the other two are maybe like older elementary or in middle school even?? but still on the younger side. and ahhhh

what my brother would do when he was in high school/college (since i was in late elementary and then middle school) would that he would pick me up and throw me onto my bed even though i got bigger and it’d make me go !!!! AND JUST THE IDEA OF DAICHI CHASING AFTER HIS LITTLE SIBLINGS AND DOING THAT. ugh it makes me so soft 

but then when they’re being too rambunctious he has to give them like a little bit of a scolding and if they’re like 🥺 he’ll just let out a sigh and makes a lil compromise with them. 

like if Daichi’s trying to do his homework but he got home late from volleyball practice and his siblings miss him so much! and they just want to play and he tries to tell them he’s doing his homework and they’re 🥺So he makes a little compromise that if they still have homework, they can do homework with him and afterwards he’ll spend time with them!!

But like what if you go over and spend time with him and his little siblings are so curious about who caught the attention of their older brother and maybe his little sisters are a little more sus about you. Like for some reason they just don’t like you because ):< they want Daichi’s attention. BUT you get them small little gifts each time you come over, and even let them come on your dates with Daichi so that they like you a bit more but it turns into a hang out with Daichi’s little siblings and not a date with Daichi. OH and then you talk about how you’ll watch Sailor Moon with them and slowly they build a little bond with you and they want to spend time with you instead of Daichi.
