I want to live in the universe where Joss Wheadon (who hates Bucky) didn't direct AoU, and Steve's actual worst nightmare was what was originally storyboarded, and was the trauma he had from the war, his horror over what Bucky endured, and the guilt he feels for not searching for him after he fell from the train.

I came across THE ABSOLUTE BEST comment on an AO3 MCU fic!! The person who commented it even cited their sources proving what they were saying by turning part of the sentence into a link -- multiple times! Idk how to do that so I'll just leave a link to the original for anyone interested in those, and paste show off the comment here!
**Warning: Please mind the tags! Within the MCU you either hate this type of fic--and therefore comment--or you're still just a salty and full of rage as you were when it all first started going downhill in 2015. In other words: Civil War Team Iron Man.**
THE COMMENT (which was a reply to a hate comment about how "amazing" and "perfect" Captain America is):
"Yes, Steve Roger is all of those things. In the comics. 616 Steve can do things like defeat two other Super Soldiers when his Serum has been turned off. He's actually a Captain instead of it just being a stage name, due to, depending on the writer, either actually going to Officer School and blitzing through it, or receiving the equivalent of Officer School training while "on the job." In the comics, Steve Rogers earned his rank under the code name of Captain America, and his "secret identity" was that of the bumbling Private Rogers. MCU Cap actually is the bumbling Private Rogers, but is treated like a trained genius tactician undeservedly.
Comics Steve Rogers is also of far better moral character. He's the sort of person who would throw his shield to alter the trajectory of someone falling in order to avoid civilians being hurt. MCU Steve Rogers is never shown caring about the people hurt in Bucharest, and has no problems treating a German SWAT team the same way he did Crossbone's goons. When in the comics everyone finds out that it was Cap's evil Hydra clone who did all sorts of terrible things, Steve admits to HYDRA Cap that he's actually glad that, thanks to HYDRA Cap, people no longer trust him as much as they did in the past, as he's actually never been comfortable with people blindly trusting him or anyone else. MCU Steve demands that people blindly trust him to have their best intentions in mind. 616 Steve has enough willpower to break free of mind control straight away; MCU Steve got stuck in Wanda's illusions like everyone else.
Also, when 616 Tony isn't being written by stupid writers as a fascist, Steve is pretty much the founder and president of the Tony Stark Defence Squad. Anyone talks crap about him, Steve reminds them of how many people his tech and charity work has helped, and on a more personal level actually appreciates how much Tony has done for him instead of accepting it as his due for saving the world once a year.
Comics Steve is respected because he deserves it and has earned it; MCU Steve demands it like an angry toddler, claiming that he's a good man when in reality he's just not as big of an asshole as the Red Skull.
The sad part is, it would have been so easy to salvage Steve's character. Show him sending a coded message to JARVIS during WS, and later say Fury mention that Tony, even with his suits all blown up, was standing by to ensure that all the non-Hydra stuff was taken off the net so that no innocent SHIELD employees were hurt and no US secrets were leaked. About 5 seconds of footage.
Show him trying to contact Tony when Wanda talks crap about Ultron being just like him to prove her wrong, and getting concerned when there's no answer and heading back to Stark Tower just to be sure. Don't show him already be in the process of charging forwards and drawing back his fist to throw a punch at Tony before his chest piece ever arrives. Add two seconds of footage where Steve tiredly asks whether Tony can call another suit to pick him up from Siberia after their fight, and have that letter include an actual apology instead of Steve just trying to justify his actions. Give Wanda an actual redemption arc and have Steve feel like, even if she was HYDRA and people don't like her, she still deserves a chance to show she's not a monster like the Red Skull was. Show Wanda being horrified that the Hulk wandered into Johannesburg, and be reluctantly grateful to Tony that he stopped her from ultimately being responsible for the deaths that a rampaging Hulk would have caused.
Instead we have MCU Steve, who seems less and less heroic the more you think about his actions, and spoilt brat Wanda."

Okay but.
I keep seeing the gifs with the scene, which is what prompts the question.
Why does Ultron care if Wanda dies?
Like - If you stay here, you'll die - buddy, if your plan worked, she also would have died. Why do you care? Like? Why?

For the WIP ask — I’d be interested in hearing about your Avengers: Age of Ultron WIP!
Also, you’re great, and I hope you’re having a wonderful day!
born out of a joke... my avengers: age of ultron AU is mostly just the farmhouse stuff, only instead of it just being that Clint has a hidden family, he is also hiding the very much not dead Coulson there, and the three of them are a triad.
The woman hurries over and wraps him in a hug, as though she’s relieved to see her again, and Tony has a nagging instinct he should know who she is.
“This is an agent of some kind,” he says, and gets about as much of a response as he expected.
And then, his brain short circuits, because who should follow the woman into the room, but-
“Coulson?” Cap asks from beside him, disbelief in his voice.
“That…” Tony says. “That is definitely an agent of some kind. Don’t take this the wrong way, Coulson, but you’re dead.”
“Well… yes and no. After New York, Fury brought me here.”
“Dropped him off on the doorstep like a lost puppy,” the woman says, wrapping her arm around Coulson’s waist and giving him an affectionate smile.
Tony, as confused and mildly annoyed at this surprise as he is, gets it now- this is Coulson’s place.
“Oh, so you two…”
“Ah, right, yeah, introductions,” Clint clears his throat. “You all know Coulson, but this is my wife… Laura.”
“I know all of your names,” she says lightly, as Clint kisses the top of her head.
And before Tony can react, he leans over and plants one on Coulson too, which… isn’t exactly what he expected.
But before any of them have time to react, beyond exchanging confused looks with each other, there’s the sound of running feet, and Clint grins. “Incoming.”
And then two kids run into the room – and taking a second look around, there’s evidence of them everywhere – throwing themselves at Clint.
Clint scoops the little girl up into his arms, ruffling the boy’s hair with his other hand. “Hi sweetheart, hey buddy! How are you guys doing?”
“These are… smaller agents,” Tony mutters, still confused.

*mcconaughey voice* alrightalright... Grievances Ask Game #s 3, 16, 25?
3. What's your biggest tumblr pet peeve(s)?
When folks posit as SteveTony fans and GUSH over x but y is just. There. Barely, even. Not my thing, honestly. When it comes to the fandom stuff I reblog, I'm here to see SteveTony content sure but also to get to know PEOPLE so I LOVE seeing behind the curtain into their lives, interests and headcanons. But when it's just a hyperfixation on one character over the other, I'm like Cool, good for you! But I'm not going to follow you. Just not what I'm here for. TBH: I don't use Tumblr religiously enough to have a pet peeve so maybe that's not the right answer....less of a pet peeve and more just a what-I'm-gonna-click-very-quickly-out-of.
16. Name a canonical aspect of SteveTony’s relationship that you think is problematic/not mentioned enough
Uh. MCU has the predictable hang-ups about Ultron and Civil War with Tony and Steve getting their respective character beatings. I feel like the comics have a lot more content to mine as far as problematic behaviour to explore. Maybe--as far as not mentioned enough--just HOW much of a fumble the team was. Tony leaving at the end of A:AOU, Bruce/Hulk fucking off, Nat kissing Bruce and manipulating him, Thor and Steve both being too aggro--all of this shit is so Bad when you think about it. Maybe one day I'll write a fic where they're all Like This and SteveTony are also fucking but uh. What the fuck was going on there, eh? Uhh I guess an extension of that would be Steve being written in fic as someone who pulls his punches but being the total opposite in the films up until IW. The man doesn't account for the serum much? And maybe we should explore that, even though I'll admit that I prefer writing the alternative. & I wish, on Tony's end, that his "mastermind" tendencies/pulling strings BTS were explored without flinching from his control tendencies. We could probably get some very good stories out of Hyper-Aggro!Steve x Control-Issues!Tony. We probably already have, TBF. Drop 'em in the notes, folks!
25. Share an unpopular opinion you have RE: fanfiction (writing, culture, etiquette, etc.)
Being insistent on updates is never cute! Honestly. There is the occasional "oh that's sweet that they really like the fic" but a lot of the times when I see comments--mostly on other fics, I'm not talking about mine here--that boil down to "update plz", even if it's worded kinder, I'm just like.... Shut the Fuck Up. After writing a truly horrendous amount of fic last year, I've gone full circle with the process and realised that the attention you get from readers is never going to be more fulfilling than the actual writing, so if you're constantly pushing to get stuff out to appeal to/satisfy readers, you're going to get very quickly uncharmed with the whole fic writing gig. True enjoyment is what makes it sustainable, and a huge part of that is writing on your own terms and by your own timeframe. I'm less bugged about it when I see it in my comments because I'm not out here reinventing the wheel but some very, very good writers in the fandom get a lot of that shit and every time I see it, I will indulge in an emphatic, "ah fuck you, hoss". Is that an unpopular opinion?
Ask game here.

seb cancelling everything including a convention appearance and flying cross country to film a tiny cameo in ghosted with chris confirms what i've always suspected: marvel saying they gave his part in aou to peggy because seb was "busy" so couldn't film a short scene was bullshit

Finding Refuge
In the wake of the disastrous Johannesburg mission, Natasha is given an opportunity to continue what she and Bruce had started at the party.
Fandom: MCU/Marvel Pairing: Natasha Romanov/Bruce Banner Rating: Teen Major Tags: Avengers: Age of Ultron canon divergent, bed sharing, sharing feelings Word Count: 606
This ficlet fills my  @avengersbingo square   D3 - Bed Sharing  and today’s @comfortember  prompt  Day 16 - Shelter
I also used this post as inspiration: https://andhumanslovedstories.tumblr.com/post/118090498456/i-would-have-been-amazingly-into-bruce-and-nat-if
“You took a huge risk, bringing us all here, Clint.” Natasha commented, glancing over at Cooper and Lila, who were seemingly taking their new houseguests more or less in stride. Thor had already taken off for parts unknown, Steve and Tony had wandered off outside, and Bruce had offered to help Laura make dinner.
“It was the best choice under the circumstances,” he replied with a wry grin. “Besides, Laura seems to think you and Bruce have a .... thing?”
Natasha felt her cheeks heat, recalling their flirting at the party before all hell broke loose. She hadn’t been able to resist playing along with Bruce’s cliched, but nonetheless sweet line, falling into the ‘wronged woman’ character almost instinctively.
She hadn’t meant anything by it, but his self-deprecating reply made her walk it back and show a little more of herself to him - albeit still in character. Natasha didn’t want him to think this was just a game to her, but she had to fight nearly all of her instincts not to make it one.
And now, now that he - and the rest of the Avengers - were here in a place where she’d always been able to be herself, Natasha didn’t know what to do next. She thought back to her comment about ‘running with it’ there back at the party; running away seemed the easier option now, especially with her own Red Room memories brought back to the surface.
After dinner, Laura pulled her aside, saying that Natasha would need to share the guest room with Bruce. “For what it’s worth, we’re making Tony and Steve bunk together, too,” Laura had joked, but there was a supportive, reassuring look in her eye. “You deserve this. You both do.”
Bruce froze the moment he spotted the single not-quite-queen sized bed in the guest room. “Uh, I can sleep on the floor,” he stammered, “or out in the hall...”
Natasha placed a hand on his arm. “It’s okay, Bruce,” she replied, sliding her hand down and linking their fingers together. “More than okay, at least by me.” She turned to face him, stepping in close.
His eyes scanned her face; she struggled not to hide behind a coy or seductive expression, letting her true feelings show as much as she was able. “So, is this you running with it?” he asked, raising his free hand to cup her cheek.
“Yes. And I hope you’ll come along.”
Natasha awoke the next morning with Bruce spooned up behind her, his arm draped over her hip. They hadn’t taken things very far from a physical standpoint; he was still too shaken by the rampage Maximoff had forced on him to take any possible chance of losing control. She hadn’t pushed, hadn’t argued; letting simple human contact remind Bruce that she knew him, both parts of him, and she was not afraid.
In turn, Natasha revealed what visions Maximoff had pulled from her memories; Bruce held her as she silently wept for the choices they had taken away, leaving her empty and broken.
“Broken isn’t ruined, Natasha,” he murmured. “Let me tell you about kintsugi and sashigo.” He told her how those Japanese traditions turn items in need of repair into new works of art, filling in gaps in porcelain bowls with precious metals or mending kimonos with intricate stitching. “The contours of the damage dictate the repair,” Bruce explained. “It takes time, but results in something stronger, and more beautiful.”
Natasha had kissed him, unable to trust herself with words at that moment. And now, sheltered in Bruce’s embrace, she felt ready to move forward, hopefully with him at her side.
