Firmly back in my Newsies hyperfixation (thank you mini-bang) so I’ve been going through all the old cast videos again and I just have to say my favorite genre of group photos are the ones where no two people are dressed like they’re going to the same place
Evan’s on his way to a desk job, Jacob is a plus one at a wedding for people he’s never met before, Tommy is giving thirteen-year-old boy’s first school dance, Iain is giving thirteen-year-old girl’s first celebrity crush, and Aaron is that one guy in your college algebra class who wears sandals every day no matter the weather and plays guitar in the dorm lobby at 11:00pm on a Tuesday no I do not accept criticim.
Aaron J. Albano's 'Hey, Oscar, word on the street says your brother and y. — troddy dorkers.' 🤝 Damon Gould's 'Hey Oscar, word on the street says you and your brother took money for stealin — triken — striken — trolley workers.'
Newsies opened on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre for a limited engagement starting in previews on March 15, 2012, and officially on March 29, 2012. On May 16, 2012, Disney announced that Newsies was an open-ended engagement. The engagement was extended through August 19, 2012, after the first previews.
The original cast of the Broadway production featured Jeremy Jordan as Jack Kelly and John Dossett as newspaper tycoon Joseph Pulitzer. The cast also included Kara Lindsay as Katherine Plumber, Capathia Jenkins as Medda Larkin, Ben Fankhauser as Davey, Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Crutchie, Lewis Grosso and Matthew Schechter sharing the role of Les, Tommy Bracco as Spot Conlon, Ryan Breslin as Race, Andy Richardson as Romeo, Garett Hawe as Albert, Ryan Steele as Specs, Aaron J. Albano as Finch, Mike Faist as Morris Delancey and Jordan’s understudy, Mark Aldrich as Seitz and Kevin Carolan as Nunzio and Theodore Roosevelt. The Broadway production cost about $5 million to stage. Newsies recouped its initial investment of $5M in seven months, becoming the fastest of any Disney musical on Broadway to turn a profit, and closed on August 24, 2014, having played 1,004 performances.

my brother in law and i have made our ways through all of your available cog stories (you have become a household name); i wanted to ask if there are any choice of games or other interactive fiction you recommend? i saw you answered in 2020, but wanted to see if there's any more on your radar since then!
I have a bunch of links and recommendations over here including my top ChoiceScript games ever. And I am here to recommend lots more!
Please note that I have the time and energy to play very few games and a vanishingly small number of WIPs. This only a tiny snapshot of the amazing interactive fiction out there. Do check out IFDB, sub-Q, the IF Comp and Spring Thing archives, the Narrascope and AdventureX speakers and exhibitors, and the interactive fiction tag on itch.io.

fellow fansies - I have complied a (hopefully) comprehensive list of cast members for anyone new to the fandom or for those who may like a refresher on the casts. I've not included every single character, just the main ones, so if you'd like a character adding just ask; also if you notice any cast members are missing or have been labelled incorrectly in any way, please let me know, I want this list to be as accurate as possible. characters with a dash (-) for any of the categories I wasn't sure if they were included in that production or not. if you're able to fill in any of the blanks that would be much appreciated. any questions, please let me know <3

i need to know who ur favorite Finch actor is because mine is Aaron Albano but i know a lot of people like Iain Young better
Well Iain Young Finch (on the animal crossing froggy chair) is my wallpaper
I like Aarons Finch a lot great vibes but bootlegs are really the only way to watch that I'd probably love his performance as much as Iain's if I could watch it easier
Westendsies Finch I don't remember his name but haven't seen much of his actual performance so he's my least favorite just for not being able to see how he does it
Iains Finch having the ProShot let's the little things he does stand out like using other newsies as armrests and his bit with Jack and Crutchie over the slingshot his portrayal is part of why I like Finch so much
The Broadway show to have the most Newsies in it is a three way tie between Cats, Hamilton and Mary Poppins. They've each had six Newsies in their cast at some point with Aaron J. Albano (OBC Finch) being in all three.
BABES WAKE UP!! NEWSIES REUNION IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING!!! everybody say thank you aaron albano for producing this
also, it's time for us to peer pressure (/hj) the cast to make ben fankhauser sing the truth about the moon since IT SAYS HERE THAT WE COULD EXPECT SONGS CUT FROM THE PRODUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!
Appreciation post for Aaron Albano for setting up the 10th Anniversary concert and also just being a generally awesome person! :DDD Everyone thank him right now for all the content we've gotten this past few weeks (over six years after the tour ended)!!!!
You know how 2021 US tour Skimbledots (Chris Salvaggio and Michelle Carter) refer to each other as 'work wife/husband'?
Well, guess who else does.
Kelly Donah and Max Craven! (Over domestic shopping lists, no less.)
US tour Mungoteazer confirmed!
Also, incidentally, it's not just US tour Skimbledots: there's a pattern throughout the whole of the Broadway revival and subsequent tour(s) of the 'canon couples' referring to each other this way. Skimbledots is the big one for husband/wifing each other, and Demestrap does it a bit too—I particularly remember Dan Hoy (2019 Munk) saying that for each of his Demeters. Platoria is another major canon couple, though since it's more of a budding romance they don't tend to use marriage words so much.
With that background, 'work husband' implies that Mungoteazer has a similar canonical status as Demestrap and (particularly) Skimbledots: they are an established couple within the timeline of the show, and the actors probably get that as a direction when creating their characters.
And just for fun: Aaron Albano (swing then Skimbleshanks on Broadway) listed three tracks as his 'couple tracks' with fellow swing Francesca Granell: Mungoteazer, Skimbledots, and Pouncilectra.
(Masterpost of relationships in this production here.)
Newsies Cast Members Julian deGuzman, Nico DeJesus, and Aaron Albano are hosting a webinar about the Filipino Newsboys and Philippine Resistance Movements this Thursday March 25th EST.
