Here's my theory. There are only like, eight guys in Lung's gang and they are a mix of Asian nationalities. But Taylor thinks there are more all over the city because she can't distinguish between Asian faces. She sees "ABB members" everywhere. If you have red and green on your backpack it's not Christmas, it's on fucking sight

Bakuda!

Worm's first real antagonist and the genesis of Taylor's hatred of tinkers.

Her actual time in the story is pretty brief, all things considered, only appearing as herself (Glastig Uaine's ghost of her doesn't count) in two arcs. But her memory haunts the narrative. Her bombs are used at multiple points, including taking out members of the S9. And her spirit literally lives on as one of Glastig Uaine's spirits.

Despite this we know shockingly little about her. We know she's half White and that she's likely from Boston, but we have no idea what her actual name is, what Asian ethnicity she is (her cape name implies that she's Japanese, but we don't know that for sure), and we have no information on her actual costume beyond her mask. A fate shared by a surprising number of Parahumans characters.

As a character, she's kinda just a broken person. Fitting, then, that Taylor emulates her. They're both people broken by their lives before triggering, trying to take control and avoid that same fate from happening to them again, and essentially failing.

Despite her briefness, she's definitely my favorite Worm antagonist.

The Allman Brothers Band

Re-posting this with some additional details...

When Gregg Allman (1947-2017) passed nearly seven years ago, I was driven to the negative archive to see if I had any decent shots of the man. I had attended at least two concerts in 1979, as I recall, which would put these images in the Enlightened Rouges time period. I was not thrilled with the quality of the negatives I found, but I was glad to have them nonetheless.

Gregg used his Hammond B-3 with Leslie speaker, of course, but what one sees above is an electric piano with “Hohner” printed thereon. In addition to Gregg, there are three other original members of the band playing during this time period—Dickey Betts, who can be seen playing his Gibson Les Paul, as well as both drummers: Jai Johanny Johanson (Jaimoe) and Butch Trucks.

In the end, one can say that Gregg Allman certainly had an interesting life, with extreme highs and lows. Musically, he had a unique voice and wrote some very memorable songs. The band, which Gregg and his talented brother Duane formed in 1969, was extremely influential and enjoys a firm place in the history of rock and roll. Duane is often to be found on lists of "best guitarists" of course—he was an unusual talent, to be sure.

The close-up of Gregg was taken in Indianapolis at Market Square Arena on May 26th 1979. The other two: the Band from afar, with the second highlighting Dickey, were shot at Alpine Valley, near East Troy, Wisconsin, on August 18th 1979.

the only immediate family he really has that he's in semi regular contact with is his father who he really only talks to for business (his dad is the second generation owner of the record label he's on/formed the american branch of). he very rarely ever sees and/or speaks to his mother because she up and left him and his father to move back to barcelona when he was 4. his dad is notorious for all his marriages and divorces so his home life after that wasn't very consistent save for his nannies. he was extremely close to his older (by 14 years) half sister who died when he was 13. after she died he kinda gave up on family until he met benji and those two became attached at the hip from the very minute they met. if you were to ask him who his family was he would say benji before it even occurred to him to mention his father.

It's so weird to me that in Worm the people hurt by Brockton Bay's gangs are never really addressed.

Like, where are all the Capes who triggered as a result of the Empire brutalizing them or someone they love, where are the Capes who triggered from Bakuda's forced conscription and gleeful murder of their loved ones, where are the Capes who triggered via the Merchants ridiculous policy of forced drugging?

Even outside of Capes, the effects of these gangs are just never addressed. We never hear about the people the Empire's hurt, or even see them hurting anybody. We never see Jihoo Park's family's reaction to his death, that he was killed so easily and without a single care (also, like, he's the only Korean character in Worm and he exists for 5 seconds). We never hear about the Merchants cruelty after Taylor's rescue of Charlotte (Charlotte doesn't even exhibit any trauma of her own, she really should have triggered from almost being fucking sold like a piece of meat).

None of the effects that the gang has on the city are ever shown. A huge mistake in my opinion.
