Gimme, Gimme, Gimme

(a man after midnight)

After waking up from a bad dream, Steve decides to put on some music to cheer himself up. He'd figured that ABBA always helps with that, so he plays one of his favourite songs, Gimme Gimme Gimme. Of course, he tries to make it as quiet as possible, knowing that his neighbors are probably asleep.

But soon, there's a knock on the door. Shit, Steve thinks to himself, turning off the music and preparing to apologize to the poor soul that got their sleep interrupted because of him. He is ready to be scolded; he deserves it, after all.

But nothing could have prepared Steve for what was actually going to happen. After he opened the door, he saw the absolutely cutest guy. His brown curls were tied into a messy bun, and the pajamas he was wearing consisted of a worn off bandshirt plus some sweatpants.

“I'm... I'm really sorry,” Steve stutters. “I turned it off already, I'm so sorry for waking you up-”

“Easy, man,” the guy cuts off, smiling at Steve. “Half past twelve is way before my bedtime,” he laughs. “ I just thought that maybe you were having some sort of a house party that I could join, since I just moved in and I don't really know anyone in here,” he admits.

“Well, sorry to disappoint you then, but it's just me in here” Steve replies. “But if I ever have a party, I'll be sure to invite you,” he assures. “I'm Steve, by the way.”

“Eddie,” the man introduces himself. “Thanks a lot, Steve. But if you ever wanted to just... go out, just the two of us, let me know,” he adds, winkink at Steve.

“Uhh, sure,” Steve stutters, unable to believe what just happened. Half past twelve, he thinks, just like in the song. It seems like his prayers were really answered.

What Abba songs would Heartstopper characters like? (my opinion!)

Charlie Spring- Chiquitita

Charlie loves Chiquitita. It’s his comfort song. He had definetly filmed aesthetic tiktok on a beach with Nick on this song. I can imagine Nick giving Charlie some CD as a present and both of them watching it on his TV at Charlie’s home. On that CD, there are some beautiful videos Nick took of them or he asked Tara to film them. He put that videos with Chiquitita. Charlie would be crying out of happiness.

Nick Nelson- Me and I

I feel like Nick would love his song. He would vibe to it when he is alone in his bedroom. Nellie would of course vibe with him too. Everytime Nick would invite Charlie to his house, Me and I would always be the first song to play. Nick would dance and sing and Charlie would ether just admire him or admire him and record him so he can watch it when he gets back home. 

Tao Xu- Mamma Mia

Ohh, Tao would definetly like Mamma Mia. He also watched musical and both movies. Everytime he goes to school, he listens to it. Everytime he is alone at home, he listens to it. This song has became a part of his life. I can imagine Charlie, Nick, Isaac and him having peaceful lunch. Everyone is quiet. Then, out of nowhere: “Mamma Mia, here I go again 🎶”

Elle Argent- Honey, Honey

I feel like Elle wouldn’t be that much of Abba fan but when Tao showed her Mamma Mia movies and played Abba songs on his radio when Elle came over, Elle would fall in love with their songs. I feel like she would quietly sing Honey, Honey everyday on her way to school. Tao and her would spam the groupchat with Mamma Mia and Honey, Honey lyrics.

Tara Jones- Voulez-Vous

Okay, Tara definetly simps for Abba girls (I mean who doesn’t) and she finds their voices in Voulez-Vous so hot. Darcy sometimes gets jealous so she turns off the radio. Voulez-Vous is her favourite because it reminds her of disco, parties which she attended with Darcy. She mostly listens to it when she is getting ready and when she needs motivation.

Darcy Olsson- Does Your Mother Know

Darcy would love that song because she also thinks that Abba girls are hot there. This song also reminds her of parties which she attended with Tara. I can imagine her requesting this song and Voulez-Vous for Tara and those two yelling-singing and dancing, forgetting everyone around them.

Isaac Henderson- People Need Love

I feel like Isaac is more a fan of Abba’s old songs. People Need Love is their first song and Isaac really likes it. It has nice melody, music and vibe. He is listening to it when he is reading.

Imogen Heaney- Waterloo

Imogen would be a huge fan of this song. She would make scenarios of her and Nick. She would jam to Waterloo in school everyday. Imogen knows that Nick’s “friends” hate Abba (because they suck ofc) so she would force them to listen to Waterloo with her on purpose.
