Sexta-feira chegou e nada como encerrar a semana tomando uma boa cerveja 🍻🍻 Sendo assim, hoje vamos falar sobre a Leffe, que tem raízes na abadia de Notre-Dame de Leffe, na Bélgica! Fundada no século XII, esta abadia começou a produzir cerveja em meados do século seguinte, mantendo uma tradição sólida até o final do século XVIII, quando a cervejaria foi destruída em levantes decorrentes da Revolução Francesa. Ela só voltaria a ser habitada em 1902, levando ainda mais 50 anos para a retomada da produção cervejeira. Atualmente, as cervejas da @leffe_belgium são produzidas pela gigante internacional AB Inbev, mas com respeito a sua origem monástica. Inclusive, o contrato originalmente firmado pela Abadia de Leffe para o licenciamento da marca para uma cervejaria comercial foi um dos pioneiros do gênero, possibilitando que diversas outras abadias e monastérios ampliassem a produção e distribuição de suas cervejas e ainda garantindo o recebimento de royalties! Hoje temos a Leffe Rituel 9º, a cerveja mais alcoólica do portfólio da Leffe! This is the Amber version of La Cambre beer and probably the best amongst the 3 beers offered by the brasserie de la Cambre. The colour of the brew is copper red and the first thing that hits you is the caramelised taste, a nice balance between the essential blonde and the classic Belgian triple. It ain’t sweet or spicy, but refreshing it is. Saint-Wandrille Sicera Humolone. Presque comme l'autre (voir le post du 20 juin 2018...) mais en plus légère et plus houblonnée... et pour notre part, un peu décevante. Très légère, elle joue sur la fraîcheur des fruits jaunes et l'amertume pour désaltérer. C'est fruité, avec des notes de céréales qui font penser à certaines bières blanches mais l'amertume est bien présente aussi, avec une relative longueur. On devine que la recette n'est probablement pas très différente de l'autre production des frères ce qui lui confère une certaine complexité mais ne déclenche pas le coup de coeur. Un peu trop de tout, ou pas assez, on ne sait pas trop mais le breuvage hésite entre la discrétion et le fort caractère si bien qu'on reste un peu sur sa faim (ou sur sa soif). On attend de voir si la recette évolue en débouchant sa grande soeur sans hésitation ! It’s Sunday, and that means #beeroftheweek time. What can I say about Orval, that hasn’t been said already by everybody who’s had a chance to taste it. THE BEST TRAPPIST BEER. Salivating thinking about it right now! Orval is a #belgianpaleale, brewed since 1931 in a trappist brewery located within the walls of the Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Orval in the Gaume region. Trappist beers are different from other beers in everything, yeast, hops, the mouth feel etc etc. The aroma is almost of a champagne and you realise it’s greatness in the first sip itself - it’s fruity, yet bitter. Light body, making it more drinkable, white head and caramel coloured.
