So you're telling me it's canon that Troy Barnes:
Thinks Abed is “pretty adorable”
Refers to Abed as his “other half”
Really likes butt stuff
Holds hands with Abed constantly, within the first few weeks of knowing him
Thinks the pride party held at Greendale is “pretty dope” (And is fucking grinning ear to ear as he says it I Iove this boy)
Literally cannot conceive of the idea of dating a woman, where polyamory with Abed isn’t involved (There’s someone out there for us)
Has a Tumblr blog dedicated to Clive Owen, the contents of which is at least somewhat embarressing
Is upset that he can't have Abed's babies
Moves in with Abed, despite earlier agreeing with him that best friends moving in together would be a bad idea
Doesn’t bat an eye at his girlfriend referring to Abed as “your boyfriend”
Refers to “telling the group about his dance lessons” as “coming out”
Lives in a two bedroom appartment, yet shares one room with Abed
Dresses up as Freddie Mercury, and immediately goes to Abed to ask if he thinks he’s hot
Literally says “I love you” to Abed
And my mum still thinks I’m reading too much into this???

i love how A LOT of community fans live by "I decide what's canon and what's not" like there was the gas leak year that some people don't even acknowledge and there were a lot of new main characters and storylines in s5&s6 that people hated so we're like WHATEVER!!! I'm making my own f-ing show
"britta and troy dated? it literally never happened. jeffannie ? I don't know her. what do you mean troy and shirley leave at some point ? you're just saying things now, stop making this up"
so now every community fan has their own version of the show in their head and I love it

The zombie episode of Community was wild for multiple reasons, but I can't stop thinking about how Troy said "I love you" and Abed answered "I know".
Because Troy didn't know if they'll see each other ever again, and their last conversation ended with him disregarding Abed's feelings. Him taking off his costume might be inconsequential in the overall story, but it was important for this Abed, enough that he brought it up when he realized there's not much time for them left.
It's clear that Troy doesn't understand their situation yet, he doesn't let Abed continue this "nerdy conversation", because it's like any other time when he pretends that nothing is wrong and hopes for Abed to play along. Except, it isn't like any other time, which is why Abed insists on it in the first place.
Troy's "I love you" could be taken at its face value, but it can also be interpreted as an apology, a confession, a promise or/and goodbye. If Abed gets bitten - Troy is on his own. It's him against the hall of zombies and he is aware of how unlikely it is for him to succeed.
Abed says "I know" and it has so many meanings: I know you love me, I know you're sorry. But the main thing is: it isn't a desperate response. He doesn't know if he's going to die or not, at this point it's a 50/50 split. Yet it doesn't sound like those words are meant to be his last... because they're not.
This puts Troy's mind at ease, but it doesn't finish their conversation (the same way Troy's "I don't know, I'm not a nerd!" didn't finish their previous one). Almost as if Abed believes that they'll get a chance to talk about it later.
All in all, I wish we saw what happened right after everyone came back to their senses, because in this short period of time, just before their memory got erased, there was a version of them that knew how deep their weird little relationship actually is.

What I love about Troy/Abed is that Troy worships the ground Abed walks on. Troy never really gets impatient with Abed, because why would he? Troy accepts him as he is and never tries to make him change. He thinks Abed is just the coolest thing since sliced bread (or whatever the saying is) and I love that about their dynamic. Abed never has to change or be different around Troy because Troy thinks everything Abed does is cool, even if other people don’t. Troy thinks Abed is a magical elf-like man who makes his life more magical by being in it. I have yet to see a show replicate their amazing dynamic.
