I feel like that Picard meme when I'm trying to desperate write Star Wars Rebel's fanfic to my friend and my knowledge of Star Wars as a whole topic is based on that one series (and not even all seasons!) and some very shaky memories of the movies.
Like, I've so many questions related to the fact, how things are addressed in Star Wars.
Like, what are droid's wrench-like hands called? Are those just hands?
Do imperial troops shoot lasers? Bullets? Like whut?
Also, those white stormtroopers...does the rebels call them stormtroopers or bucket heads?
Hows do the Force work apart from the fact Jedis and Padawans can use light sabers and make things float?
Is there cussing in Star Wars? I want to Zeb have potty mouth.
What are the ships called? Like, imperial ships? Enemy ships? How I should refer to those from the rebels' point of view?
And all the other little details keep coming to my mind, even though I'm pretty sure my friend won't mind as long as I'll make enough 'kaboom' and 'boom' scenes. Or, they'll laugh their butt off for all the 'mistakes' I make or be super impressed I could actually write a Star Wars fic, despite the fact my knowledge of it is very...very...bad.
But hey. It's fiction! So, I get to make my own rules!
(Not really, because I'll dread all the 'mistakes' I might make, even though I'm sure they won't notice those.)
Haha, I forgot how fun writing fanfiction can be, but at the same time stressing.
Watch me writing A + Star Wars fanfiction, while circling around all the little details masterfully~.

Every remake of a game should come with a copy of the game it is remaking that is compatible with modern hardware but otherwise untouched and I'm not even exaggerating this should be mandated by law. If you're going to attempt to recreate a piece of art you have to give people access to its original context otherwise it becomes the only context and makes the previous version simply a superceded product

we poke fun at obi-wan for saying "sith lords are our specialty" and then getting his ass kicked by dooku, but in fairness, he was at the time the only person in living memory to have actually killed a sith. he showed remarkable humility honestly.

how do you cope with aotc haters? im guessing your favourite from the prequels is aotc, but even if it isnt, i can tell you have a soft spot for it - but some people really hate it and diss hayden's (amazing) acting and the plot... what do you do about it???
you are absolutely right that i have an EXTREME soft spot for attack of the clones (a sensitive topic for me)—technically my favorite star wars movie is revenge of the sith, because it’s the best movie and ties all the storytelling together, and also, the shakespearian tragedy of it all—but attack of the clones is the movie i fell in love with, it’s the movie i’ve seen the most times, it’s the movie i obsessed over when i was like 8
Tumblr media
so it really bothers me when people talk shit about it, yeah. thankfully, my family likes the prequels, so watching it with my siblings and parents and stuff when i was younger was great bc my family enjoys it. i don’t have many friends who like star wars, but i do know people who have taken on the “the prequels were terrible” line, and honestly, i just try to ignore them. it’s so obvious to me (for these specific people, at least) that they are just saying that/believing that because they want to sound smart and they were told what not to like. we were all children when the prequels came out, so it’s not like any of us had very sophisticated film critiques when we saw these movies—when they say they hate attack of the clones, i know they are just repeating stuff told to them by other people
that said, i do understand that attack of the clones is not for everyone. like Hayden said in one of his interviews, the dialogue isn’t supposed to sound realistic. this is a shakespearian space opera with a whole lot of melodrama—the dialogue is actually quite victorian romance, imo (literally it all sounds like something someone would say in Wuthering Heights). i’m a melodramatic person (i LOVE Wuthering Heights) so it really works for me, but it’s fine if it’s not for you, just don’t talk shit about it just to sound smart to stupid old men, please.
rant over 😂

'Desert hermit Ben Kenobi develops a reputation as a crazy wizard because he keeps talking to thin air.'
No. This is Tatooine, talking to yourself is hardly the weirdest thing they've seen. Ben Kenobi, however, keeps having full on fucking screaming rows with thin air and seemingly gets replies back, which is decidedly a step up.
(They've managed to piece together that a major point of contention is the acquisition and raising of a child? Clearly Ben is a wizard that had a bitter divorce with a desert spirit and is working through a custody dispute)
