Currently having a crisis regarding Cullen as a character.

I played Inquisition first so had NO context on his prior actions or the mage/templar conflict at large. I played a warrior Trevelyan and romanced him - I loved it.

But fuck me, I’m replaying the series (currently on DA2) and I’m like, shit, did I really fall for a nice accent and a pretty face (also abs)?Dude has ISSUES. Dude needs HELP. Dude maybe shouldn’t be in a relationship until he sorts things out… but I’m emotionally attached, damn it.

Anon, I don't know if you realize what you have unleashed by asking this question. How much time have you got? Pull up a chair. 🪑 Okay, but seriously, what are we considering recent? 🤔 Fuck it, I'm gonna say anything from the last season of Fate, AB, and DA2. Which would include any press/interviews in that time, sounds legit enough to me.

Like always, under a read more for length and this time take that warning seriously. Also, this took a turn for the thirst so no one come clutching their pearls at me, thanks.

Most importantly, and most recently as luck would have it, would be the Act On This he just did with Ross. Y'all are probably tired of seeing my gifs from this by now but I'm not. Seriously, from a completely shallow POV, this man is fucking stunning. Who the fuck does he think he is? A beautiful bastard, that's who.

Speaking of dads, I love me a sad-tired-dad walk.

If I ever stop mentioning the tracksuit, assume that I'm dead. He looks fuzzy and cozy and just...a wild Mr. Evershed in his natural habitat. Also, thick thighs save lives.

Now truthfully, I'm not wild about the look in DA2 or Fate S2. Whoever decided to dye his hair should lose their job. I really don't care if whatever God they believe came straight from the sky and instructed them to do it, the reason still isn't valid enough for me, sorry. Back to press/interviews, can't forget the Act On This from 2022. Why do men never wear their glasses enough? And a plain black tee? 👀 And his laugh/smiles 🥺

And while the hosts in this interview had a room temperature IQ, he looked good af. I love the salt and pepper, his eyes were popping, the stubble was perfect. (*Also, shout out to him for enduring that, seriously. The moment his Thomas joke fell flat I think he realized the depths of idiocy he was dealing with it and the train just understandably continued to derail.)

DA2 press also provided these, which I've recently used in other gifsets but they're so nice we can look at them twice.

DA2 is the only one i didn't play

da2 is GOOD. ppl r rlly mean ab it but they’re all wrong. Only listen to me :-) if u played inquisition u should play it bc it sets up a lot of stuff nd if u liked origins u should play it Bc it also has a good story + rlly interesting characters

Hence why I all but ignored Anders throughout. Lol, my first playthrough of DA2 and I was shocked, SHOCKED that he blew up the Cathedral.

I'll be talking ab dragon age here uwu

💕- so i have a lot of fave characters!! From every game, the companions i DON'T like could be counted on one hand, but they all mean a lot to me. But i guess i'll be biased here, and go with my no. 1 comfort character atm: DORIAN!! no surprise there if u followed me for more than one hour. I guess the reason he's such a comfort character to me is kind of.. personal?? When i first got interested in the series, i was having a series of.. very bad nightmares. Should be noted i was nearly but not yet 16. In those nightmares, i would somehow, accidentally, either come out to my parents or they find out somehow, and i would always wake up before the dream went to "The Talk". Also, since i was 14, i had what i named my "survival plan", aka a "plan" of me running away the moment i become 18. Obviously, as i started to grow older, i started to realise how difficult that would be, which made me get very panicked and did not help with the nightmares. And so i saw in my youtube recomendations... his romance, in full. Out of curiosity (yes i was interested in the games but didn't know of i wanted to play them), i clicked on it. And as i heard his conversations with the inquisitor, i started thinking "wait... the way he's talking about his parents and his relationship with them... could it be because he's...? No, that can't be ....". And yet, i could already feel some form of.. kinship? With him. Someone who ran away from his country, his family, everything he had known before, into the unknown, where he was hated simply because of where he's from.

Then. Last Resort of Good Men started. And the confession of why he left, of what happened, of what his father tried to do... it hit so close to home i had to stop the video and just cry. I couldn't believe it. A character, who went thru my worst nightmares. And survived. More than that. Thrived. Was happy, and had a future, and friends and found family and someone to love him. Simply his existence helped my mental health so much. And i guess this is why he.. means so much to me?? And is my fave character overall.

✨ - what draws me into dragon age? Well, as previously discussed, tbe characters play a huge role in it. The series would just not be what it is without them. But also, i find the setting and the lore so interesting... one thing i liked from the very first game is how yes - its a fantasy rpg - which is why it won't shy away from having a weird yet generally very well done mix of dark fantasy with horror elements, medieval elements, fairytale elements, and even some??? Small sparks of??? Not steampunk but it almost feels like it?? Esp stuff like da2 with Kirkwall and most of what we've heard/seen of Tevinter from prev games, Tevinter Nights and concept art. AND it manages to be lighthearted and funny in so many places. Sorry my conception of the lore/setting may be a bit distorted atm because i'm going thru the book tevinter nights and it's SO GOOD and it has so many good horror stories. The Horror of Hormak kept me awake last night all night :)))

So I finally got round to continuing my DA2 game and I decided to go "SCREW THIS I'M PLAYING ON NORMAL" and now the game is a lot more enjoyable.
