Whenever you're feeling bad about your scarring, she thinks of what she'd want to hear and would use that to comfort you

She can't really get scars anymore, at least not in the most common areas, but she'll try and paint a few onto her legs and arms to match you!

if you want to share stories about how you got them, she's more than happy to listen

If you're okay with it, whenever you two are cuddling or are just close to each other she'll trace over them with her hands

Finds them fascinating in a bit of a morbid way, though she 100% keeps those thoughts to herself

Will be the most casual person ever about it, to her it isn't a big deal. If it doesn't matter to you, then she couldn't care less

She loves you, and that includes your body

Scars? Huh? What-?

They would literally never notice if you hadn't told them-

way too busy staring into your eyes lovingly like a huge dork 24/7 for it to register in their head

They have probably noticed but forgot 2 seconds later

They are way more open about how cool they think scarring is! If you're okay with them complimenting or asking about your scars, oh boy you better expect to be thrown into a story time

They have some too! Like their tooth! And they have a bunch on their hands thanks to their drill

They never had any negative connections to scars so they're plenty open to conversations about 'em!

Would probably absentmindedly talk about their own since in the back of their head its like "Oh my god my partner had scarring too! That's so awesome! Story time!"

If you're insecure about your scars then they become the biggest sweetheart ever

If you don't like talking about them then that's fine! All you gotta do is ask and bam, its gone from their brain in 2-3 business days

If you ever come to them and talk about how you don't like your scars, after asking for permission of course, they will kiss the ever loving hell out of every single little mark on your body (if you let them, of course)

—If you are to take the dating him route, he 100 percent tries to be artsy for you, like he’ll try so hard to find clean paper and maybe a pencil in his dumpster or on the street to do a drawing of you (it actually doesn’t look that bad if he finds his materials, but he cannot draw hands for the life of him)

Rules Preview: Admiration

In the Revue Starlight TTRPG, one of the most powerful narrative tools at the Stage Girls' fingertips is the Admiration move.

Some examples of Truths Beyond the Curtain questions:

Challenger: What have they accomplished that you feel you may never be capable of?

Exile: Why would becoming closer to them only lead to tragedy?

Guardian: How do the feelings you have for them make it more difficult to selflessly serve your Charge?

Trailblazer: How does your Admiration of them make it more difficult to live a carefree life?

Other moves might also have unique interactions with the subject of your Admiration. For example, a Guardian may treat the subject of their Admiration as a member of their Charge.

The Admiration move is pretty much a reflavoring of Thirsty Sword Lesbians' Smitten move, serving the same function and a similar purpose, but with a less explicitly romantic, more Stage Girl spin on it. That being said... there's probably a lot of cases where feelings of Admiration also involve love, too... I mean, look at these girls. Dorks. Absolute losers, the lot of 'em. What was I talking about again? Oh, right. Mechanics. That.

“You’ve done well in advancing past the preliminary round. Strive harder to fight me.”

You noticed the way all of the inklings around you seemed to cower at the king’s voice, he sure knew how to control a crowd. Most of the blue team shuddered at the sight. You looked back to see Rider’s uneasy smile, as well as the way Stealth quivered on the spot.

‘So this is the absolute king.’

You refuse to let him sway you, staring him down with a look of determination written across your face. He seems entertaining. You two lock eyes for a solid few seconds, and you don’t even consider blinking until he’s got his eyes somewhere else. You look away from him to see how your teammates are doing, only getting reminded of how awesome they are when you see Leo with a bright smile, no doubts in his mind. Tasha’s analysing anything she can about Emperor, and Milo’s smile is much more focused. They intend on battling the Monarch team and winning, and nothing can stop them. 

Except for you of course, if you so choose to go easy on your opponents. But who are you to disrespect your teammates? It’s not like you have much of a choice, so going all in is the only thing you can do now.

“We’ve got lots of training to do, gang.”

You state, just loud enough for your teammates to hear. Tasha gives a curt nod, Milo a smile, and Leo punches his right hand into his left in front of him, letting out a “Hell yeah!”

The crowd begins to disperse when the first teams to battle are called up.

[Team Yellow-Green VS Team Cardigan!]

Your determined expression immediately turns into one of slight irritation, desperately wanting to shake your head and facepalm. You had forgotten about that annoying team.

[And Team Gloves VS Retro Gamer Team!]

Gloves and Rider announce how they’re going to crush their opponents, and fight about who’s gonna win the championship. The two battles will be happening at the same time, so you’ll have to decide who to watch. Leo makes his way over to follow behind Gloves, starting up a quick convo before the battle to get Gloves pumped. Huh, it looks like they’re fans of each other. Milo does a half-jog to keep up with Leo, not wanting to let him off on his own. Who knows what that dork will do without supervision. He'd probably jump the railing to go and join Gloves’ battle if nobody was there with him. Tasha walks over to trail behind Rider, wanting to see how his battle goes down. May as well go with Tasha to split up evenly.

You end up beside Rider after he slows his walking speed to match yours.

“I better see you in battle soon.”

You knew that was his way of saying ‘don’t lose’.

“Yeah, yeah, I know.” You figure that this is the best time to slip in a hint, “Don’t be going easy on any opponents, now.” 

Get em’, Rider. The Cardigan team deserves it.

The battles go by quickly, and it seems like Rider took your words with a grain of salt. Though, he did become more relentless as soon as Team Cardigan’s identities were revealed. Rider and Gloves meet up after their wins, and get at each other's throats with some "playful" banter.

You stand with your arms crossed, almost wishing you got to see a battle between the two teams. Your attention is redirected to a team you’d love to see in action, if only it weren’t for their future miserable defeat. Aloha drops down to stretch a bit, hyping himself up for his upcoming battle. The blue team is still surprised to see the S4 actually working together.

“Thooough grouping together suuucks.”

…They still have terrible chemistry. That’s probably the main reason they weren’t able to win against Emperor, all trying to do their own thing and refusing to cooperate. No team is at their strongest if they can’t manage to work together.

After Goggles pulls a dish of dango out of nowhere and offers it to the S4, Skull tells the blue team that he wants to battle them, despite Emperor’s Team being here. How sweet, it seems he’s starting to warm up. The S4 is off to their first match, Rider trailing behind to go watch. Goggles wants to join too, but Specs reminds him of their battle. You’re about to follow your team, who’s following Rider, but you hang back for a sec to save Inkfall from getting his shirt dirty. You smoothly grab the dango from Goggles’ hand before it touches Inkfall, walking off while munching on it, without a word.

‘This stuff’s actually pretty good. I should’ve gotten some for the squad.’

Inkfall noticed the way you saved him from a messy situation, but decided to berate Goggles for nearly getting him dirty. Just as planned, the manga goes on as usual.

The S4’s battle goes on seemingly without any problems, but your trained eye can see much more than the average cephalopod. Army tried executing the plans from his manual alone, which proved futile without cooperating teammates. 

Aloha was still quite laid back, and didn’t function too well with the way Army was always bickering with him. 

‘Army doesn’t see that Aloha does his best when he’s chill. It may not look like he’s trying hard, but he’s much smoother with his agility when he’s comfortable.’

You lean on the railing, shifting feet because they were getting tired. The opponent is too slow to hit Aloha, so the party squid easily manages to dodge, but ends up nearly bumping into Mask.

“Waaaatch it, idiooot!”

You shake your head at the poor cooperation. Skull never missed a shot, but he didn’t shoot at times that he should have. He’s so used to Aviator nailing the opponents before Skull even bothers to attack, so it must have been weird working with new teammates.

Mask held back and used his sub weapons as usual, but it wasn’t nearly as effective when the whole team was doing other stuff. Usually, it worked best when Desi would throw toxic mist to slow down the opponent, then Mask would finish them off quickly with two perfectly aimed burst bombs.

The match still ends as expected, the S4 managing just under 75% of the stage. You’re glad they won, but the happiness quickly dies down, knowing how bad of a hit they’re about to take. There’s no avoiding the outcome, but it still sucks to see such skilled and respectable people get demolished. You recollect your thoughts, making your way out of Deca tower to meet up with the rest of the gang. 

Goggles enthusiastically congratulates the S4 on their win, and you stay farther away. Aloha isn’t paying attention to Goggles at all, only looking for you. When he does spot you, it’s almost like when a puppy is reunited with its owner. You could’ve sworn that he’d be wagging his tail if he had one.

“Hey, hey~ you saw my sweet moves, right?!”

You inwardly debate if you should tell him the truth about how badly they work together, or just let him be happy. 

Well, his dreams are about to get completely crushed, so you should put him in a good mood while it lasts. You put your hand out for a fist bump and point out one of the times he did a cool backflip while dodging some ink, splatting an opponent at the same time.

“You are lying. Not entirely, but you believe that we could battle better.”

Yet Army sees right through you once again. For the weakest of the S4, he's pretty sharp. Your smile drops and you look away dully, with a slight furrow in your brow. 

“...’Cause I know for a fact that you guys have the potential to be over one-hundred times stronger than this. You just don’t work well together. Being strong isn’t all there is to a team, you need to trust each other, too.”

The blue team had walked away a while back, and your teammates take their place, hearing you out. They saw it too. Of course, their clear bias for their idols fogged up the fact that they can be stronger, but your teammates aren’t stupid. Two of them, at least. Leo tilts his head in question, he still has much to learn. He really is like his idol.

“So, what do you expect us to do, then?”

“Lose, probably.”

Skull wasn’t expecting that response. Most people avoid talking to him altogether, but saying something like that? That’s pretty bold… Had it not been coming from you. You’re no longer at the ‘Unreachable idol + lowly fan’ phase, you’re now acquaintances. And you won’t sugar-coat it. Even your teammates behind you are shocked at how you ‘disrespected’ their idols, almost forgetting that you’re just as big of a fan, if not more, than they are.

“That’s not something you can fix overnight. Hours upon hours of training together might help that, but it’s completely useless if you guys simply don’t get along.” 

You glance back at Tasha, then Milo, and Leo,

“You need a family that would kill and die for you, and you need to bring the same if not more to the table.”

you made em blush!!!!!!! im so glad my characters are realistic oggg i really strive for that!!! i always make sure theyre real stupid with some stuff and real smart with other stuff, and i always give them at least one thing to be autistic about. for scully, hes good at cooking and he sucks with talking and hes autistic about knives and meat!!!! teddys good at talking to people and keeping from rocking the boat, but in the story he struggles to do more morally grey things (not because of morals, hes just got no idea how to go about kidnapping someone or torturing them for answers! he gets better at it though) and hes autistic about taking photos and also he really likes pastries theyre yummy treats for him that he cannot resist!

ohhhh i have a few other guys such as jude and sterling that are also awesome but just havny been on the noggin. judes a weird little dork mortician with medical trauma and they have a pet turtle that they love sooo much and sterlings a guy who fucking sucks hes a little office boy and hes homophobic and transphobic but it mostly just hurts him because hes absolutely a trans woman without realizing and he was in an unhappy hetero marriage where he kept hooking up with men then feeling shame for it. and hes divorced about it not only literally but in soul and spirit.

Of my "Troll Who Isn't A Troll" category, M4NGL3!

It's so creepy but there's a whole ass character arc in there waiting for me to do something with it lol I love drawing M4NGL3 being uncanny and unsettling, yet curious and potentially gentle, maybe a little solemn. It's too aware of what it is, what it does, but it fears stopping.

Yes it's based on a FNAF character, but I still think I've made M4NGL3 her own.

He's... he's been through a lot. But he's such a dork <3 I've been considering on bringing him to the blog actually. He'll need more recent art though lmao

My favorite from "Not Homestuck" is ... a tie, I think?

Meet Sabriel.

He was from a closed species art rpg but that has since closed and now the species is pretty open. I got him before the close though. I absolutely love him, he's a tragic guy who stops at nothing to try to end the tragedy. But he fails. And it's fun. And angsty. Delicious. He's a neuroscientist obsessed with the recovering of repressed memories for related reasons.

And here's Justin! He's an old OC, not the oldest by any means, but he's a veteran LOL. He comes from a monster/human world, and is a monster himself. His family comes from a long line of doctors, though has been cursed to fail "the patient that matters most" to them. Justin does not want to be a doctor, and instead wants to be a botanist. He's a shy guy, and the mask is a comfort. The oldest picture I have of him is on the left.

Tbh I haven't visited this character in years. But he still remains special to me. ...Maybe I'll put him in my newer monster-oc-world project: Daeminia.

And then I have a bunch of Pokemon OCs that were probably among my very first OCs. Another non-fandom OC is Ever but tbh I named A BUNCH of characters Ever or Everlynn back then so... gotta make em all fight to the death ig lmao

But the Ever I'm referring to is a girl who is half-ghost and half-human. I made her for a roleplay on the original Pokefarm forums, and that RP got pretty big across the site so that was cool.

Labrys: Sure is. It's bright, orange, shows off it's reflection on the ocean pretty well. Kinda makes ya forget that summer's about to come to a close.

So Hi-Fi Rush is great

In a world where so many games lean into predatory practices and addictive habits, Hi-Fi Rush is out here being the best game it can be and its a good fucking time.

Hi-Fi Rush is a rhythm based beat em up/spectacle fighter where you attack, dodge, and parry to the beat. The whole world bounces to the rhythm of the soundtrack so its easy to get back on top of it if you lose it. You and your band of misfits work together to topple the evil Vandalay project.

Hi-Fi Rush does a lot right. This isn’t a ploy to lead into things I didn’t like, I don’t have anything negative to say about the game at all actually. It has a challenging difficulty on Normal, the enemies are varied, each level has its own flavor and feel, nothing stays too long, and the game’s humor is actually good. I found myself laughing at a lot of in game and cutscene moments. Chai is a dork but the game dunks on him in an amount equal to his hubris. Your companions are fun, the baddies are fun to fight, and the soundtrack is great. Here's the giant Portals ranking that no one was waiting for!! 🥰 This whole post is unnecessarily long and includes my shitty little analysis so hey, thank you if you read any of this! If you don't read this giant post, then I will make my main point quickly. This album is fucking beautiful. And Melanie continues to top her previous work in so many ways. The direction that her narrative is going in is one that I am so into and if this post does anything at all, I hope it encourages you to take a look at this album and her other music. Because I think the things she has to say with her discography are both highly creative and deeply topical. My love for her artistic vision is immense and I hope that comes across in this post. Anyhoo, I love you all. Stream Portals, please and thank you!! 💞✨

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫: I am just a random dork on the internet who's a huge music lover and especially a massive Melanie fan. That's all. And I genuinely love every song on this album. For me, Melanie's discography is one of the few skipless ones I know of and this album continues that tradition. The songs near the bottom of this list are only there because the ones that are listed before it were so memorable for me.

We're starting off this ranking strong with my absolute favorite song on this whole album. I'm warning everyone by saying that I love this song with my entire heart and I am taking this opportunity to get all of feelings about it out. Because if you've ever been in a relationship with a narcissist, this is a song you scream the lyrics to. I would 100% recommend doing this; it's unexplainably therapeutic. I think one of my favorite little tidbits about this song is that Melanie kept rewriting lyrics because they weren't mean enough. She said she spent a whole day completely wrecking her vocal cords for this song. And there's something so empowering and radical in a person who is normally so compassionate and empathetic exercising that kind of pure, unadulterated anger. Personally, I've spent a very long time almost feeling guilty over that anger because it isn't proper or kind. But Melanie's articulation and expression of this rage and refusal to keep taking mistreatment is fucking everything. In the past year or so, I've had to do a lot of work to completely embrace that evil and crazy label. Out of all the conflict songs on Portals, this one is my favorite. The lyricism and instrumental are perfect for the song's energy and I will keep screaming along to it basically any chance that I get. For all of my friends out there who have been in this kind of relationship, you are entitled to your anger. You are allowed to feel wronged. You are not a bad person for being upset that you were hurt. Fuck decency and respect. That all died the day they decided to cross you over and over. Your anger and your emotions are powerful and they are allowed to be expressed.

Based on the name alone, I didn't think I would love NYMPHOLOGY as much as I do now. Prepare for me to also go on a massive rant for this song. Now, I know a lot of this song references Greek mythology. But, as a person who got a kick out of consuming Lolita analysis' as a teenager, my brain can't help but draw comparisons to Lolita's main characters. Like I heard the lyrics, "Call me your nymph, / Praise me for martyr, praise me for sin" and, "Auctioned to a selfish man who thinks that he's the prophecy," and went, "Oh my god...Humbert Humbert????" But this song definitely commentates on a larger social trend. And that is know-it-all man children who victimize women who are ten times more interesting and compassionate than them. Which is an experience that way too many AFAB folks can relate to. Similar to EVIL, the first words I can think of to describe this one are angry, empowering, and earnest. On a real note, I love the way that Melanie makes it very clear that there's no point in blaming yourself if you've fallen into this kind of situation. I've had many conversations with friends who've shared this kind of experience and the first thing we all do is think of ways we fucked up. But at the end of the day, we loved earnestly and that shouldn't have been used against us. Not only that, but we can continue to be the manic pixie dream girls that we once were, but this time for ourselves (btw, the AMULET outro at the end slaps and I love how it connects to EVIL).

I'm about to go on a hell of a rant for this song too. I cannot describe how frustrated I got at all the folks using the snippet of MOON CYCLE on TikTok and going, "Oh, I guess Portals won't be skipless lmao." I was a MOON CYCLE Stan from day one and I take such pride in it. Not only does this serve as a fun little diss track on Oliver Tree but it is also a song that makes me feel like...wow. I am a being that has a period. That's kind of fucking cool. And this is something I've struggled to be okay with for literally almost ten years now. There's something incredibly empowering in how Melanie's art has recontexualized gender and expression for me. This is something I could talk about for forever, but I have always felt very removed from the concept of femininity. Between being a plus sized person and having never really fit into the classical definition of femininity in the first place, Melanie manages to reframe femininity in a way that isn't dependent on misogyny or comparison. It's beautiful. And I love her endlessly for giving me a song that listen to when that period depression is hitting hard and I wanna visualize a man who is down bad for period sex. Thank you, Mother Melanie.

❥ 𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐄𝐁

Most of my initial love for SPIDER WEB came purely from my ADHD ass brain going "ooooo fun instrumental!!!!" Truly...put an instrumental that scratches the neurodivergent urge in brain in my lap and I will be playing that funky noise on repeat forever. However, I have since read a little more into the background of this song. However, with the added context of this song being about social media makes every lyric hits that much harder. It also really explains Melanie's reluctance to be active on social media outside of artistic purposes. The parallel she draws between a spider web and the tantalizing but destructive draw of social media is actually brilliant and I love her for it (I say as I write a Tumblr review for her album lmao whooo no one say anything to me).

❥ 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑

you are the light, i've been searching for forever...

Based upon just the snippet of this song that was released, I didn't think this one would rank super high on my list? Like I loved the snippet, don't get me wrong! But the whole song continues to grow on me the more I listen to it. I think this is closest we get lyrically to peace and happiness on Portals. And I think it's grown on me so much because it reflects so much of the personal growth I've made in the past year. It perfectly describes the relief and comfort you take in finding people who genuinely give you hope for living after spending so long being devoid of it. Those kinds of people are rejuvenating, refreshing, and healing; they're showers of pure light.

❥ 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇

i'll be meeting you here every time...

This opener is nothing short of perfect in my eyes. It's effective at giving the listener a taste of the themes that Melanie touches on in the rest of this album. Narratively, it functions as our introduction to Crybaby's new form. But in a real sense, it's Melanie reintroducing herself after a three year hiatus since K-12. Using this as the first single before the release of the album was actually brilliant and it makes me glad that Melanie's label is finally seemingly putting more into the marketing of her music? Overall, a powerful and iconic opener to this era.

❥ 𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐋 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍

but i'm more than than, more than that...

Now I've been obsessed with the prelude snippet of this song since the Hatching clip was released about a month or so ago. In this, Melanie is challenging the subject of the song to widen their tunnel vision; to look at her in a deeper way than just purely superficial aspects. This is a theme that she's touched on a little bit in some of her other music (see K-12's Lunchbox Friends). But here is where she also plants the idea that underestimating her isn't just a mistake, it is dangerous. This underlying darkness and danger is expanded upon beautifully in NYMPHOLOGY and EVIL (Also the chanting at the end gives me such goosebumps, holy shit, I love it).

❥ 𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐃

i fear i won't live to see the day tomorrow...

VOID is the track that really kicks off the pop-punk and pop-rock influences of this album. And apparently this is the first song Melanie produced completely on her own!! Which makes complete sense considering how personal the lyrics come across. Narratively VOID fits snuggly alongside DEATH. It is Crybaby grappling with her anxiety and insecurities after going through rebirth.

❥ 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐍𝐗

how stupid, selfish baby...

As a person who has had to calm articulate themselves through many arguments with folks who just yell a lot of nothing at you...this one slaps. There's something kind of reassuring with Melanie continually emphasizing the importance of being empathetic, thoughtful, and communicative through her music. Mostly because sometimes it's easy to get exhausted being that way. But her eloquent lyricism and her ability to mesh metaphors into her music absolutely convinces me that those abilities are valuable and I should be proud of them in myself.

❥ 𝐅𝐀𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐄

gather me, all of we, everyone...

Genius describes FAERIE SOIRÉE as Crybaby on a mushroom trip, trying to escape the hallucinations before ultimately giving into the magic. Which...yeah. That kind of makes sense. Melanie's vocals exude this ethereal, dreamlike quality that is only elevated by the vocaloid interlude at the end. The interlude portion is actually one of my favorite parts lyrically as it builds more of the mythical, mystical vibe from this era by suggesting that all beings are connected in some way or another.

❥ 𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒

i guess that is the luck of the draw...

LEECHES is another song that touches on the effects of fame; something that Melanie has written about previously with Show and Tell. Except where Show and Tell seemed to focus more on fans and media people who demand too much of celebrities, LEECHES describes a more sinister type of creature. In my opinion, it's about people who maybe have used Melanie in the past to either leech off of whatever she could provide them. For me, I think the most memorable part of this song is her projection? I adore how assertive her voice sounds during the chorus, as opposed to the breathy quality of her verses.

❥ 𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐁

cut the cord, i'm coming...

I feel kind of bad ranking this one so low? But basically every song on this album is a fucking banger in its own way and this is one that is simply a liiiiittle less memorable to me than the others. However, that doesn't mean I'm ignorant of its importance to the album's narrative. The main motif of the album is rebirth. We started with death and we now end with life, all because of the womb. The bit I adore most is how the outro parallels the intro of DEATH. It really highlights the cyclical process of life and death and stresses that there really is no end to growth. The main point of this album is that life is all just energy being repurposed over and over and over again; we are constantly growing and evolving.

❥ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐓

Okay. So I love this song. Truly. I love every song on this album. And I understand both the narrative and literal functions of this song. However. The one aspect that makes me kind of cringe is the bone crushing beat. But that's just because I'm a squeamish little baby and that sound is a little too good for my liking. However, I still wouldn't skip it. This song makes up for the squishy and crunchy sounds with Melanie's warped and maniacal laugh. You can tell that they really don't give a fuck about conforming to anyone's standards. There's something so unhinged about this song that I can't help but love it anyways.

OH OH YES OKAY I LOVE THESE THANK U SM  monster high: specifically what i love about G2 is what they did with frankie’s character :) i looovveeee frankie in G1 don’t get me wrong but in g2 they’re more autistic coded imo !!! so it’s something i feel i can relate to. i like the smart science persona they give frankie as well?? it honestly just makes sense to me for frankie to be this INSANE pillar of knowledge but still is SUPER bubbly and excited to be alive !!! (being that they’re basically a new born teenager) it kinda makes em a little more dorky too and i have a soft spot for major dork characters. a lot of people hate G2 and i totally get it but it’s fun it’s own way and kinda worth checking out imo ever after high: oh GOD im not entirely sure what my fairytale would be, but i FOR SUREEEE would be a rebel, no doubt about it rainbow high: this is probably my second favorite doll line at the moment simply because the base dolls faces and structures are so so gorgeous. but if i was going to show specific dolls i would for sure show you my favorite, robin sterling: her clothes are absolutely gorgeous, i really really adore her robe, individual lacey socks, eye mask, fuzzy heels, i love it all so much but specifically her color scheme is just so to die for. something about the blue on her really just makes my brain explode ohhh my god. plus her face and hair are genuinely gorgeous.  another one i would show is the shanelle shadow high doll, while they both have similar high pony tails that’s not actually the reason hehe. one i ABSOLUTELY LOVEEEEE the colors on this doll, the white streak in the hair, the blueish gray eyes, the descending gray scale on the dress, seeing this doll next to other rainbow high dolls (same w any of the shadow high dolls) just makes them look completely out of this world and edited like, its so incredibly cool to see them take on this grayscale theme and have it look THAT jaw dropping next to dolls full of color. plus her fashion pieces specifically are so well done imo and last, while i really love series 3 of rainbow high, series 4′s diversity is absolutely incredible, its really really nice to see such diverse dolls in a high fashion setting (because while barbie’s diversity is great, the fashion is not so much) the dolls in this line are just seriously stunning and so so pretty BUT THANK YOU FOR ASKING OMG THIS WAS SO FUN !!!

Redacted - Listener OCs

I’ve been debating on posting all my Listeners or not, since some I don’t headcanon with nearly as much as others, but I finally decided: heck, why not?

Since I don’t have decent sketches of all of them, I’m going to post the picrews that I made that I used as inspiration for their designs from. I didn’t make these with any idea in mind, just bumbled around picrew, found one that looked neat or followed a link someone sent me, and halfway through making a character I went “huh that gives me [insert listener here] vibes”. Don’t ask me who, why, where, or how I made any sort of connections to the characters with these designs. Just know that it happened.

Angel - Angie Corina

- I don’t like how mean David is, so I've skipped most of his videos. As a result, I don’t have much on my version of Angel. “Angie” came up out of necessity for my Inversion fic, and it’s just kind of stuck. However, from the little I have heard of him, whether in his own series or in others, I had a very vivid image of what Angel looked like in my head for some reason. I actually made her picrew recently just for the sake of this post, lol.

I have a small headcanon that she maybe started learning a little bit of Spanish and Hindi after meeting Baaabe and Sweetheart.

Baaabe - Emmanuel, “Em” by some, “Emmy” by his sister

- He’s having a lot of problems with his family (namely his step-father), and has to babysit his step-sister Lilia a lot. However, Lilia likes to spend time with him and Asher, and Asher absolutely adores her. He’s Hispanic and bilingual (English+Spanish), and sometimes I imagine him working as a mechanic. Also, he can do some sick tricks with a yo-yo. I don’t headcanon any major stuff with this trio, mostly just small slice-of-life things. Asher and Em being dorks, them taking Lilia to a pride parade, etc.

Sweetheart - Chrysalis “Chrys” Prasad

- A goth/punk at heart, Chrys has a set of rings they never leave without. They’re probably at least bilingual as well (English+Hindi). They’re currently trying to figure out their gender identity, and is unsure if they should fully transition or not. For the time being, they wear a binder and braid up their hair when they go out or have visitors, or when the dysphoria hits.

Chrys is pretty timid and shy when around anyone that’s not Milo, but when they put their work coat on, they go into Work Mode and can muster the courage to even stand up to high-ranking officers from the Department. They become a completely different person on-duty, and take their job very seriously. They'll also pin up their bangs before going into work.

Sometimes I imagine that Chrys keeps a pair of brass knuckles on them, and will practice boxing alongside Milo as a stress/anger-reliever.

Lovely - Gracie, “Grace” by some

- Gracie is that student that always looks stylish and is always on time. She’s a hard worker and low-key perfectionist (maybe that’s why vampires are so appealing to her?). I imagine her as a bookworm, and maybe really into the Dark Academia aesthetic. As of the events of Inversion - Another Story, she cut off the burnt ends of her hair and is trying to grow it back out. (I remade her picrew just for fun to show that, lol.)

Contrary to canon, Gracie doesn’t like the idea of becoming a vampire and living for an eternity, and wants to stay human. The topic of turning makes her uncomfortable because she doesn’t want to disappoint Vincent with the truth. While I don’t know if I would really write it out, I plan to have it to where Vincent would eventually stop asking about turning her, and simply stay by her side until she passes away from old age.

Darlin’ - Willow

- She’s known for her cute face and rough attitude. When out and about, she sports leather jackets and rides a polished motorcycle, causing trouble and picking fights to find Quinn. When not causing trouble, she drives an old pickup truck. Contrary to canon, she and Sam aren’t together, and in fact she’s still hung up on her past relationship with her now-enemy. She’s not entirely oblivious to Sam’s feelings for her, but she definitely tries to pretend they don’t exist, since she subconsciously doesn’t want to let go of her old love. (Tbh I see these two remaining as just close friends even after Quinn is taken care of, maybe hooking up for only a short period of time.)

She used to do ballet when she was little, and began practicing dance again after she met Quinn. She doesn’t like to show this side of her though, only having the idea reinforced that it’s “girly” and makes her look “weak”, which would tarnish her gruff reputation. However, after the events of Vice Versa, she’s become more comfortable with enjoying her hobby. She secretly wishes she could dance with Sam one day.

I do imagine that she has scars, but I haven’t really decided where they should be yet.

Bright Eyes - Briar “Bri”

- The almighty pouty princess, she was formerly the daughter of a wealthy family who got everything she wanted except their genuine love. Wrapped up in an unhealthy friendship with her crush Frederick, this only came collapsing down on them after their turning. She was also immensely jealous of Ryder, Fred’s boyfriend that, much to her chagrin, returned to Fred’s side after they became vampires.

However, the three have since made amends and are a close trio again, with Bri being more supportive of her two boys’ relationship and all of them being able to hang out without any tension between them. (Since their story doesn’t exist on the channel anymore, I figured I’d just skip the drama so they could partake in other fics if I need/want them to.) Freelancer - Cora

- The self-acclaimed gambling master, she is a kooky mess that loves to let loose and relax, despite how often she does not do that thing. She’s terrible at forming bonds since she has a bad habit of clinging to people who are even a little nice to her, even if they hurt her. However, Gavin and her new friends are there to keep the bad people away, of course. Damien gets onto her a lot for staying up all night and neglecting her health. She’s a very “no thoughts, head empty” type of person, and moves to her own beat.

Though I love Cora to death in my fanon, as of Inversion - Another Story, her fate is unknown. I’ve barely even continued personal headcanons about the choice between saving her life or Huxley’s instead (nor have I thought about what would happen to Angie). I don’t know if I could truly make that decision, hence why Vincent’s progeny remains “Vincent’s progeny” in the William letters series.

Starlight - Stella

- Curious to a fault, Stella was...actually I don’t headcanon her that much now that I think about it, since she’s just been stuck in one place the whole time I guess. It’s been a while since I listened to Starlight’s early videos, I don’t remember what canon info we have of them actually. Most of my headcanons are about various happenings regarding the Meridian, which are usually angsty, lol.

Sunshine - Sunny

- Albino because I’m cruel like that, Sunny is a sweet and quiet, albeit reckless, ray of Sunshine. She strikes me as the type of person to carry a dream journal, and generally likes journaling/writing. I actually have little on her too, since she and Elliot have been stuck in Blake’s mind prison for a while, lol. I’ve also just been focusing on the vamps far too much.

Love - Eden

- Not much for Eden outside of what’s canon. I’m not sure what direction the storyline is about to go, but I headcanon that Eden still has a fondness for Marcus. Addicted to the feelings she had before, and the affection Marcus gave her, she basically overwrites her own programming and re-codes the Obsession so she can have those feelings back.

I also have a little headcanon that “Eden” might be the name Marcus pitched for her, when they were maybe deciding on giving the Asset a proper name.

Warden - Hydra

- I don’t have too much on my Warden anymore since I changed her fairly recently. I had made this demon character before and thought passively, “She’s cute, what if she was a friend of Caelum’s?” Eventually, I began to ponder their friendship and the deliciously angsty possibility that this same demon was Vega’s Warden, and the conflict she would be in over working with the same man that hurt her friend. And thus, my old idea of Warden became Hydra instead.

And that’s it for now! There’s a couple more listeners I want to make “OCs” for but just haven’t gotten around to it, but there’s also a few I don’t intend on making since I’m not super into their storylines. I’ve been thinking about drawing them all together somehow, but I’m not sure how yet.

- Not much on her quite yet since I’m kinda waiting for more info on his listener...but this picrew is kinda vibing with me for now.

Just kidding! Guess I’ll shove personality into her myself then!

My version of Dreamer is goofy and soft-spoken. She loves modding clothes, whether for everyday wear or cosplays, and her talent is making music. Though she uses different software for her music-making, she’s technically a drummer.

She has a younger sister, but I don’t have the details of her home/family life yet.

Honey - Amy

- A sassy and sarcastic girl that’s probably a tsundere tbh. While her boyfriend works at a pizza place, she earns her paycheck as a streamer. (Guy takes part as one of her mods sometimes.) Don’t have too much more on her since I very recently made her a thing.

thank u for the vote of confidence sfjkhgdlfsd. it's sort of a funny question, because i'm famously easy to ship with — acquaintances really are encouraged to forceship with me whenever they want, you will have a 99.9% success rate as long as we're not being weird abt ages. i love romance! let's make it work!! so even if i don't actively ship something, there's a pretty good chance i can and will 100% get behind it once / if i start writing it. also, i sometimes feel like making a ship preference clear signals to others that you're likely to forceship, and i never want anybody to think "ah shit i know rain ships our muses they'll probably be weird." i won't!

going down the muse list — for amy, i obviously love sonamy. they're cute, i think their relationship is really sweet and unique and lovely. i also really love blazamy and jewelamy! i don't know that i actively ship knuxamy or silvamy in the sense that i'm never going out of my way to find them, but i've written both in the past and really enjoyed it! especially with all three of em getting close over the course of the war. amy just deserves all the love!!

ava really only has one meaningful ship, which is sonava, tho i'm definitely open to others! i think they're fun / have the possibility of being really fun.
