Feel like Gortash has issues with those born into wealth and privilege. I seem to recall him commissioning a bust in honour of a dude who "made it" and then turned his nose up at the Patriar class.

Does he feel sorry for the poor? No, because if they lack the strength and will to claw their way out of their fate then they deserve to stay there in his world view. He ended up in the Hells as a child and he escaped, then he built himself from absolutely nothing in a world that had moved on without him, and became one of the most powerful people in the city. He was a literal nobody - the son of cobblers born into debt and poverty. If he can make it and you can't with all the advantages he didn't have, then that's a you problem.

But that doesn't mean he doesn't resent all these privileged fucks who would've looked down their noses at him and have never had to work a day of their life to get the wealth and power he had to literally claw his way out of Hell for.

And now he's a high ranking figure in an organisation that exploits the hell out of them and everyone else (ha.) - He's a Banite who learnt to trade favours and blackmail and manipulate and exploit in the Hells themselves. Joy. - but I'm sure he's really enjoying that.

Somehow he's "the poor are lazy and deserve to be poor" and "eat the rich" at the same time. The only people who are "deserving" are those like him who start with nothing, end up with less, and then grab the universe by the throat and make it bend to their will.

There's that dude with the bust in his office; Durge, who also started from fuck all (thanks Bhaal); and If he didn't genuinely delude himself that he did right by Karlach, she has at least proved herself "worthy" in his eyes by now. If only she'd stop whining(!) Why on earth could she be upset??

Daisy Jones and the Six tv show was good, I enjoyed it. But they did Camila dirty. They took away almost every part of the plot that made her so compelling and strong. Her absolute refusal to walk away. The way she formed her life exactly the way she wanted it around her family. The way her and Daisy talked at the end in the book, no screaming and shouting, not accusing, but brutal honesty that cut through all the bullshit. In the book, Camila saves Daisy. But they totally take that away in the TV show. The laughable thing is they tried to make up for it by putting in the half-assed side plot where she has a career as a photographer.  It’s a kind of limited girl boss feminism that doesn’t allow for the kind of strength she has in the book.

A/N ~ dudddde this plot goes nowhere i just wanted to rant LMAO so put up with it, it’s all mindless brainrot bc i’m down tremendously bad it’s not supposed to have a thick plot stfu OMG ALSOOO THIS WAS BASED ON A CONVERSATION I HAD WITH A NIKKI SIXX AI BOT LMAOOO

Her least favorite class: Biology. Yuck. The cause of all her stress and mental fucking breakdowns. Oh how badly she just wanted to get out, even if it was for a couple minutes. But her teacher was a bitch and wouldn’t let her use the restroom or even listen to music. She tried to hide her headphones behind her hair but somehow the teacher caught on and took them away. 2 fucking hours listening to a balding old man with no life talk about organisms or whatever. It was times like these that she needed her boyfriend Alex. Someone who could comfort her and just have a laugh with her, but also bail her out of trouble if he really needed to.

She let out a harsh sigh, a little louder than expected. 

“Something wrong Miss L/N? Or am I simply that boring to you?” The teacher said with the nastiest, ugliest scowl. 

Fuck. The whole class stared at her. How was she supposed to get out of this one…

“Just breathing, sir, isn’t that what humans are meant to do? You of all people should know that.” She replied sarcastically. Perhaps that wasn’t the best idea.  

“If all you are going to do is be rude and disrupt my class then you can leave and walk straight to the office young lady.” 

Finally.

It wasn’t ideal, she didn’t want to get in trouble but at least she was allowed to leave. 

She got up, everyone still staring at her. She gave one of the boys a nasty look as if to say “What are you looking at cunt? Fuck off.” 

She left the classroom with no intention of going to the office at all. She skipped right past it and went straight to the bathrooms to text her boyfriend to come sneakily pick her up behind the school where they couldn’t be seen.

“AL PLEASE COME AND GET ME FROM SCHOOL” 

“Something happen love?” 

“yeah i got in trouble and i’m supposed to go the office but fuck that”

“ahh Y/N this is the third time this month 🙁”

“i know i know just pleaseeee i was thinking we could just drive around and hangout, i miss you!”

She was happy to have such a supportive boyfriend, one that understood the stress school gave you and didn’t just tell you to deal with it. 

She waited behind the school building at the barbed wire gate, eagerly waiting for her savior. After about 10 minutes of pacing up and down and double checking her phone, he finally arrived! She was beyond happy to see him. 

She tossed her bag over the fence and tried her best to climb over without cutting her leg, it was difficult in a dress but she managed to do it in under a minute. As soon as she landed she jumped into the car and reached over the center console to hug her boyfriend and give him a kiss on the cheek.

“Hey Alex, thanks for picking me up again.”

“My pleasure love, so what do you wanna do? Anything in mind?” He asked her

“Well I’m practically starving to death! And I NEED to listen to some good music or I’ll go crazy.”

“Ah got it, well go on choose a song” He said passing her his phone. She settled for Friday I’m In Love by The Cure, it felt right. Alex laughed quietly when he heard it.

“Hey what’s so funny?” She asked, a fake offended look spread across her face.

“Nothing, nothing. By the way I hope you know you interrupted me and the boys, we were writing a new song and really getting somewhere.” He looked at her with a half serious half humorous look. Suddenly you felt slightly bad. Alex noticed the slight change of expression. “Don’t feel guilty, love, I love spending time with you and I wouldn’t trade that for any song in the world.” She blushed a little, everything he said was like poetry, Alex had such a way of words, it was beautiful. 

“You’re so lucky you dropped out, you have no idea how stressful exams are at this time”

“Ah I can imagine dear.”

“Hey there’s a fast food place over there, wanna get something from there?” She asked him. She was really craving something greasy and energy boosting. 

“Anything you want Y/N.” Alex said, turning the car to pull into the drive thru. He rested his hand on her thigh lightly and gently rubbed it with his thumb. She felt herself zoning out and basically just staring at the beautiful man next to her. Not aware she was spaced out and in our own little world. She felt so light she could pass away right there.

“Uhhh, Y/N whatcha want?” Alex snapped you out of her ‘near death experience’

“Oh uh just F/F thanks.” 

“You need to stop zoning out, no wonder you hate class so much. As if you would ever remember anything when you’re doing that half the time” True.

After leaving with the food, the two of you found an empty park and sat on a bench and ate. She scooted closer to Alex and rested her head on his shoulder. The weather was so nice and fitting for a moment like this, warm and sunny with a nice cool breeze, not too harsh to mess up her hair or blow the bag of food away (a tragedy). Alex put his head on hers and closed his eyes. She could just fall asleep at any moment. 

“Do you have your headphones Y/N?” Alex asked, breaking the calm silence. 

“No” she said, embarrassed. “I got them confiscated.” 

“Again? Ah that’s fine, it’s not like there’s anyone here.” He said as he opened spotify and played Call Me Back by The Strokes. Of course it was a Strokes song, Alex’s favorite band. While kind of swaying to the music, she buried her head into Alex’s neck and wrapped her arms around him. They both quietly hummed to the tune of the song. This was all she could ever ask for, a nice day with the love of her life, no interruptions, no annoying boys and no school. 

Her phone started to ring. 

She jolted up and gasped a little at the sudden notification. It was her dad. 

“Hey dad, is everything okay?” She answered, a bead of sweat already forming on the side of her head. Alex nervously fidgeted with his fingers and waited. “Right, sorry, see you soon…”.

“Everything alright, love?” 

Trying so hard not to burst out in a giggle fit, she said, “School rang my parents, I think I’d better get back!”
