─「夜兰」─ the INFORMANT prided herself in her stealth skill. it was her expertise, one that allowed her to slip in and out of the enemy's territory without being detected. not even the best of the best would be able to find her if she wasn't intended for them to. it proved useful especially when she needed to tail someone for work. or even outside of work circumstances, the intelligence officer found herself utilizing that skill on daily basis. she simply enjoyed not being discovered as she went about doing her own things.

however, it seemed that a certain someone had developed his own personal skill in following her trails. the liyuan spy wasn't someone easy to track down, even in normal situation, but he turned out to be an exception to that.

was she purposely leaving clues for him to know she was in SUMERU ? perhaps. it wasn't anything obvious, of course, for that would ruin her pride. only something subtle that unless someone knew her well, they wouldn't be able to tell. she enjoyed this little game of theirs, her betting on how long it'd take for him to notice and find her, and him, breaking the last record set by himself.

the fact that yelan found herself being trapped between the wall of the alleyway and his strong frame signaled who was the one winning their latest game. with his arms caging over either side of her head, his lips clashed upon hers in a passionate kiss. he was reaping his rewards, and the informant was more than willing to give him exactly what he wanted. the time they hadn't seem each other turned that absence into longing, and how it manifested with the way his lips moved against her own, their figures being hidden by the SHADOW.

breaths were stolen as arms raised to wrap around his neck, pulling him closer, prolonging the kiss — for neither wanted it to end too soon. the taste of his tongue was ADDICTIVE, as both allowed themselves to get lost in one another's presence to their hearts' content. for how long until their lips finally broke from each other for air, they didn't know — but the way her aquatic hues softened incredibly while gazing up at him spoke of the yearn being momentary sated.

she grinned up at him, head tilting, and a gentle peck was given to his jaw, arms linked behind his neck and body pressed to his. their breathings were warm, slightly uneven, as her voice came barely above a whisper. in their close proximity, their HEARTBEATS were already giving away what they were feeling.

There are many new friends on the archive, and many are young and have only known social media, which is why I wanted to say something!

Ao3 does not have an algorithm! It isn't a social media site, it's an archive.

Posting fics on Tumblr isn't the same as posting fics on Ao3

Ao3 is like a giant virtual bookshelf, and everyone is able to add their own stories to the bookshelf, all stored with different tags and different fandoms. Works are automatically sorted by newest to oldest, but filters, looking at bookmarks, and using the search function can change that.

Certain works are not pushed to the top like social media posts. More kudos and reads don't push a single work to more viewers by some algorithm. Unless otherwise filtered, works will be at the top of the page based on how recent it was posted.

Smaller fandoms get less views, less kudos, less bookmarks, and larger fandoms get more simply because of the number of people inside the fandom.

Ao3 is a giant virtual bookshelf- there is no algorithm, and there is no man behind the shelf pushing certain books forward.

Happy reading, and if you'd like to have more people notice a fic, why not share it with them! Send a dm to a fandom friend and it might turn into one of their favorite fics!

a law was recently passed that deemed any kind of protesting as disruptive and able to be punished by the police, alongside giving the police more power.

we all watched the police storm the PEACEFUL VIGIL for sarah everard - a woman raped and murdered by a police officer.

PEOPLE ARE CURRENTLY BEING ARRESTED FOR OUTWARDLY EXPRESSING ANY SORT OF DISPLEASURE WITH THE MONARCHY.

A WOMAN WAS ARRESTED FOR HOLDING UP A SIGN. JUST HOLDING IT.

PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FOR BOOING.

everything in britain has been put to a standstill. hospital appointments have been cancelled. funerals have been cancelled. we can't do anything about it.

many of us will be unable to pay our energy bills this winter. we will freeze. we will starve.

it has been demonstrated to us time and time and time again that protests simply make people talk about how we were protesting and never why. and now the police has increased power to punish us for any public opinion that they don't like.

we have been under tory rule for 12 years. 12 years of the same people - hey americans, can you imagine that?

we are tired, no, we are exhausted. we are struggling. we are scared. and it has been made clear to us that our government does not care.

so fucking forgive us if we're putting our own survival over the opinions of americans (and other non-brits but americans are the worst) online who expect us to learn everything about their politics and their country and don't put in an ounce of effort to learn about ours.

Under any other circumstances, people would be HORRIFIED at a government mandate that women have to show a certain amount of skin. Like. That’s fucking dystopian, and the absolute opposite of feminism. If a government tried to pass a law that all women had to wear tube tops and miniskirts to go outside, people would rightfully be up in arms demanding blood

But because it’s targeting a marginalized religious group, many folks are lauding the blatant forced sexualization of women. Appalling

(apparently the ban also outlaws things like sun – protecting bathing suits if they cover too much skin. Which like. Yes, let’s give everyone skin cancer just so we can spite a religion we’ve decided to hate. Sounds like a good plan </s>)

If you guys can turn in all of your assignments on time for the next month - no whining or I’ll make it two months - I will ask Mr Munson if he has the time to a visit to our class.
