Made my first in-depth custom pattern, and it’s a trading post sign!
Heavily inspired by Luna of @ac-elestial (thank you so much because your designs are awesome) and the concept of catalog trading, where you pick up and put down an item to register it in your catalog! I’ve seen people make similar areas to host groups like this and was so excited to make one on my island ☺️✌🏼🌸💕

Are you willing to give out the code for the national parks sign? I grew up going to a lot of them with family and would love to have it if possible. If not, that’s ok! I will try to make one myself. It’s really cute and just thought I’d ask! I loved your island vid!
Oh, it’s not mine! It was made by @ac-elestial and you can find their post here! Thank you though and I’m glad you enjoyed the tour :)
FYI for anyone else looking for some of the patterns I use, all the publicly available ones are linked here!

You won’t find any amenities here, just dirt, so you better be ready to get down to the nitty-gritty. An outhouse is graciously provided but if you want running wanter you’re plum-out-of-luck. Nontheless, my boyfriend and I wanted an adventure.
I checked their website before going and googled to see what other people’s experience was. While they say on the site that you aren’t guaranteed anything special, it’s a ‘come dig and see what you find’ mentality; some people did get lucky like the photo below.
I can go ahead and let you know that we didn’t get this lucky but we still had a lot of fun. Any small crystal I found I got just as excited. It’s a different feeling when you’re unearthing crystals yourself versus buying it.
They have about 4 different sections to the property mapped out but the most common finds are Amethyst, Smokey, Skeletal(Elestial), Angle Plated, Iron & Manganese Oxide coated, Aura, and other crystals. We found a LOT of Iron & Manganese Oxide coated ones. I was really hoping to get some Amethyst but we only had one weekend to dig and the weather wasn’t cooperating the best for us. The first night had a torrential downpour and then the next day was well into the 90’s. I’m just glad our tent had a rain roof or we would have been in bad shape, or we would have slept in the car.
Get ready for a photo collage!

What a walk

It’s definitely a scenic drive up to the mine with lots of old southern houses and farms.
Not many people seemed to camp there although I can’t blame them. Once it hits 9am the mine does get busier with people showing up to just ‘day mine’. You pay per day and are allowed to dig from sun up to sun down. If you’re caught night digging you get kicked out so just don’t do that. People of all ages came, we had young parents with kids and even the elderly. Our campsite buddy drove all the way from Alabama just to mine there.
David had a lot of the camping supplies already so we really only had to get some easy to ‘cook’ food. Hotdogs, sandwich meat, water and chips. I graciously let him cook the hotdogs over the fire, and because I can never make things easy I dropped my first hotdog so he had to cook another.

We ended up cutting the trip a day short because I didn’t think I could handle another night in a tent where the low was 90 degrees, I am a child of the AC. If we had gone in the Fall time this would have been a perfect trip! I think our next mining trip will be in a slightly less hot season. We did however leave with a trunk full of crystals, mainly milky quartz but David found a few smoky quartz pieces and I got one good clear quartz point. So far I’ve been using them to adorn all of my plant pots to give off more good vibes.
If you’re thinking of going on a visit, here is their information below:
Address: 99 Diamond Mine Rd, Abbeville, SC 29620

I’m going to end this post with two great pics of David and I during a dig. If you end up going to Diamond Hill or somewhere else to dig let me know how it went. If you have suggestions on a new place for us to visit let me know!

I replaced my old nooks sign with the upgraded one. Sorry for anyone who tries to use the old one but cant. I just felt like this would be more useful and a lot of people asked for it
