Re: this: I wonder who's going to end up being the Theoden to Elle's Saruman?
Maybe Lieke? Lieke has surely fought many wars and assailed many who defied her!
On that note, if it comes up, I've decided Lieke's mysterious superpower is just being very smart, coupled with immunity to vampire mind control (both mind whammy and blood thrall). Lieke is what happens when an arrogant boss vampire transitions a very high IQ prodigy thinking they can exploit her intelligence by controlling her through thrall and ends up accidentally creating somebody who's most of the way to being a Pak Protector and is immune to mind control, resulting in the "Not as planned!" moment of the century. She's a unique one-off because her "power" is the result of a unique interaction with her very unusual neurodivergence. Possibly her intelligence isn't even a vampire ability, her human self was just like that (or in that case, rather, to the extent that her intelligence is a vampire ability it's just an immortality ability: IQ 200 + 200 years of experience as a politician and general = seriously scary opponent).

which type of romanticism are you?
deep romanticism
mindlessly shared space, automatic glances, overwhelming warmth: you're deep romanticism. deep romanticism consists of pure comfort and belonging, the complete intertwining of two souls. it's growing into a shape that fits perfectly in the arms of another, it's asking questions you already know the answer to, just to hear the way they pronounce those words again, it's admiring their face as they sleep pressed against you, admiring the same face you study as they talk about whatever they're fond of that week, yet finding new things to love, even after years of doing so. you're most likely an old and pure soul, and anyone would be so incredibly lucky to have you. just remember that emotional and romantic depth is not the end goal, enjoy your journey rather than focusing on a certain point of achievement along the way. love in uncertainty, sit in unfamiliarity.

Title: Go sing it like a hummingbird, the greatest anthem ever heard | Audition (PHO: Potentially Hazardous Object) Published: June 21, 2016 | 4:42am Description:
someone (*cough* @.hermionelhoranholmes *cough*) got me totally obsessed with that pretty Swedish boy, literally spent the last 24 hours listening to Heroes and Hearts Collide on repeat. What have you done to me?
PHO: Potentially Hazardous Object Example+instructions: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=195848184
Character name: Sebastian Kronberg
Faceclaim: Måns Zelmerlöw
Age: 30
Team 1:  Useful, clever and genius people
Team 2: Happy, optimistic and joyful people
Personality: Smart and cute. Honestly, his smile could cure cancer. But on a more serious note, he is sweet and kind, as well as charming, easily gets along with people, and whilst he can seem naive at times, he's by no means stupid. He's good at analyzing people, often judging danger from miles away. But he's also an idiot that then goes towards said danger. Has some sort of a mix between a hero complex and altruism. He's also fun loving, adventurous, and okay, can we go back to his smile now? Because seriously, I am blushing as I listen to him sing Cara Mia live at some Swedish music festival. And when the setting sun hits his face... is this what religion feels like?
Oh, also he tends to confuse people with his politeness, making them wonder if he's flirting or not. Calls everybody buddy, considers the entire world his friend, even if they're literally trying to kill him at the moment. They only people he can't get along with is really serial killers and other predators, he can't understand why they do it. Like, logically, yeah, he can figure out their reasoning and whatever, but it still shakes him.
and as a side note, I'm actually kinda excited about breaking him, because everyone has that point where they can't take it anymore and just snap, and I'm excited about what happens when he loses it, and oh the angst that will happen. . . I guess that makes me kinda evil. . . He's still super pretty though.
Power/mutation: sonic scream
Abilities: Despite his tendency of going towards danger, he's rather intelligent, with an IQ above 200, coupled with an eidetic memory. He's also rather advanced in hand to hand combat and fairly handy with a gun. Plus an arsenal of knowledge ranging from science and history, through to languages. And he's a very skilled detective, quickly identifying patterns, and making connections and deductions.
Weaknesses: Likes to see the best in people, which tends to lead him to taking risks to help people who may not necessarily deserve it, and puts his faith in the good of humanity (which cannot be trusted, case in point, Trump, there's an actual chance he may win. People cannot be trusted) and thus often ends up nearly dying by believing in the wrong person.
As for his sonic scream, he can't control it yet, accidentally pulverizing whatever's in path, making him fear to use mouth in case he hurts someone.
Hobbies/interests: singing (to himself mainly, but is 100% amazing at it, just like MÃ¥ns), and learning new languages. He's currently fluent in English, Swedish, Russian, German, French, and Japanese.
Affiliated with: the government, technically. He works at Scotland Yard, so as a government employee he can't exactly be against them. As for his personal feelings, well, who knows (well, me, I made him, but I'm trying to be cool and mysterious - failing, but eh)
Significant relationships (family, friends etc): He doesn't really talk about his family, is actually estranged from them. Half-swedish, half-english, his parents now live in Sweden and his elder sister in Germany, apart from that, he has no idea how they're doing, and they he. Technically his information is 7 years old, he has no idea if they're still there.
Backstory: Half-Swedish, Half-English, Sebastian was born in Manchester, but spent most of his childhood in Gothenburg, before moving back to England to attend Oxford. He eventually joined the Met and worked his way up to Detective Inspector, working out of Scotland Yard.
Other/Extra: - he has a tattoo under his left collar bone saying "Love love peace peace" - which is both a joke on his dorkiness, but is 100% a reference to the best song in Eurovision history, which was robbed of it's victory in 2016. Technically it wasn't entered, but it was the best one (which I'm basing on like 12 other songs that I didn't bother to listen through to the end of. I'm Canadian, I watched it a month later and skipped through bits I didn't care about. sorry.) - looks REALLY good in white, light greys, and black leather. Like, seriously, REALLY GOOD. and then imagine that white shirt wet. I'm dying.

L'enfer C'est Être Seul
His name was Max. But he preferred his chosen name:
IQ.
IQ was a super-villain. A teenager with a brain that had been tampered with, making him an unnatural genius. He was the smartest being on the planet.
Not that it meant much, now that he was alone.
IQ stared out at the wasteland. The genius with hair died red and black who was dressed in Gothic/Punk Rock style outfit was stunned. Nothing alive could be seen. No plants, no animals, no humans, no nothing. America was bare. A kingdom of nothingness.
"This..." IQ fell on his knees. He was completely horrified. "This... This wasn't supposed to happen. They were supposed to stop me. THE SUPERHEROES WERE SUPPOSED TO STOP ME, DANG IT! THAT'S HOW IT WORKS! THAT'S HOW IT ALWAYS ENDS!"
***
It had been a week now since IQ had accidentally killed all of humanity except for himself.
He flew by the use of his jetpack, still looking for some sort of human life. Maybe one of the superheroes had survived.
But no, IQ found no one alive. No humans, no animals. No life to be found no matter where on the planet he looked. Only those damn plants that had mutated and gained the ability to move and do stuff mammals do. This was thanks to IQ's weapon that had killed everything else but the plants.
Mad science was funny like that.
IQ groaned as he landed in the middle of Paris. The once famous city was now a ruin. The Eiffel Tower had been cut in half. The Triumphant Arch was now anything but what its name implied.
IQ tapped his foot on the ground impatiently as he waited for his drones to arrive and give him a report. After a couple of minutes, all seven of them arrived. They were egg-shaped, black, hovered above the ground and had red truck girl decals on them.
"So?" The impatient teen asked his machines.
"NO LIFE DETECTED WITHIN A RADIUS OF 200 MILES, MASTER." Drone 1 said. "EXCEPT FOR EVOLVED PLANTLIFE."
"Dang it!" IQ kicked Drone 1, making it bump into Drone 5. "There has to be some survivors! My weapon couldn't have killed EVERYONE on the fucking planet, I won't-"
IQ was interrupted by the thunderous noise of a horde of chestnut trees that was galloping toward him.
"Perfect. JUST perfect!" IQ rolled his eyes in annoyance as he grabbed his solar based ray-gun. "Drone one to seven, combat mode!"

It had been two weeks since IQ had accidentally killed all of humanity except for himself.
And right now, a strawberry bush was doing everything in it's power to hasten the complete extinction of the human race.
The mutated plant had its vines wrapped around IQ, trying to squeeze him to death. He would die in mere seconds unless he thought of something. And he WOULD think of something, since getting killed by a new species he had created would be the mega-genius equivalent of drowning with your head stuck in the toilet.
He stretched his finger as much as he could. He was dangerously close to fainting as he finally pressed the button on his belt, activating his jetpack. He was sent flying upward, the power of his jetpack was enough to pull the dang plant up from the ground with roots and everything. IQ could see a giant, red eye between the roots that stared at him as they flew. But then, it turned white, and the vines lost their strength. IQ gasped as the strawberry bush lost it's grip and fell to the ground.
"This..." IQ finally began to breath normally. "This is the LAMEST apocalyptic future EVER!"

It had been a month now since IQ had accidentally killed all of humanity except for himself.
"Funny I never thought about reading this stuff before." IQ closed a very thick book about modern psychology and picked up another one. He had managed to find in the rubble of a bookstore, meaning that he now had something to entertain himself with. He had found a more or less intact chair underneath a pile of bricks so he had something to sit on. "I'm serious, why did I never think about studying how the human mind works and stuff? I'm a super-genius with a mutated brain without limitations, I can handle all sorts of knowledge, and after reading some of these books, I guess my old shrink was right: I DO have daddy issues, but he was MEGA boring to listen to. Do you know what that is like? I mean, trying to listen to someone because you know that they are telling you something important, but they are so boring that your brain shuts down?"
The skull of the deceased hero Valor said nothing. IQ had placed it next to the pile of books to keep him company.
"Oh, don't give me that. All of this is your fault, you know that?" IQ closed the book he had just picked up, deciding that he had read enough for one day. "I told the entire world about my big-ass bomb and how I intended to use it. But I didn't want to use it, you know? I never did. I wanted to fail. Like I always do because some superhero stops me before something major bad happens." As IQ finished the sentence, his face grew tired. "Well, not anymore. No one can ever stop me from anything ever again due to obvious reasons." He gave the cranium of Valor an angry glare. "Why didn't you stop me, you dumb bitch?"
***
"Ouch!"
IQ sucked on his middle finger. He had accidentally hit it with his hammer as he was about to build what would, hopefully, become a house. The house could have been built by his robots in no time, but he was bored and needed something to do.
It had been a year now since IQ had accidentally killed all of humanity except for himself.
"You know, this looked soooo much easier in Little House On The Prairie." IQ said to the skull of Valor. "You know that TV show?"
No reply.
"Yeah, you DO look like a book person." IQ picked up another nail and went on with his work. "But the series was based on these books written by a woman who was a child in the 1870s. You really never read it?"
No reply.
"Yeah, I hate small talk as much as the next guy." IQ decided to call it a day. He felt a bit hungry and decided to dig into the lunchbox he had prepared for himself. It was a sandwich made out of a giant mutated mushroom that had tried to eat him. "So..." he said to the skull as he took a sip from his water-bottle with juice from a very angry cactus. "You wanna hear a secret about me?"
No reply.
"Before I made the whole world go Planets of the Apes... I had only killed three humans."
No reply.
"Oh, it's true. Really. You see, my entire life, I wanted to be a supervillain. So the day I discovered that my brain had mutated into a super information sponge, I was trilled. And the first thing I did was building a machine that teleported my dumbass mom to the Amazon rain-forest. I don't remember why, I guess I was mad at her or something. And then I kidnapped three girls that used to bully me at school. I didn't HATE them, they were just... annoying. And I killed two of them in some bizarre and creative ways."
IQ took a pause so that he could finish eating his sandwich.
"But here's the thing: After I had dehydrated the second one and looked at the pile of ashes that was all there was left of her... I realized that I didn't like it. Killing felt... uncomfortable. It wasn't funny or exciting. I had expected some sort of rush, that I would feel powerful, but... but I just felt like I was going to puke."
IQ was quite for a moment.
"But I felt that I had... I don't know, passed the point of no return I guess. And I now HAD to be a super-villain. So I told the third girl that I would give her a chance, that I would allow her to try and run away and give her a head start so that I could enjoy chasing her. But that was a load of shit. I wanted her to run and warn everyone. So then a superhero came, I made a show out of it to lose and be thrown to jail so I wouldn't lose face. And then, just to make everything worse, I learned that my mom was dead. I just wanted to annoy her and scare the shit out of her, but she had died of a heatstroke in the Amazon Jungle. Making her the THIRD person I had killed. Or maybe the first one, I don’t know." IQ sighed. "So, if I had such a rotten first day doing something I hated, why did I keep doing super-villain stuff? I will tell ya why: I wanted to matter. I wanted to be famous. I wanted to be remembered. And because I was a dumb teenager I thought that the only way to make sure of that was by making some noise, fight some superheroes and make grand schemes where I would constantly take a dive so that no one died."
The skull said nothing, as expected.
IQ blew the skull a raspberry. "Yeah, well, that's just YOUR opinion."

It had been four years now since IQ had accidentally killed all of humanity except for himself.
IQ sat inside the little shack he had build for himself. It looked like something that even Groundskeeper Willie would have too much pride to live in. The genius who was now a young adult was about to take care of the wounds he had received after an intense battle with a horde of rapid apple trees. He was all alone now. He had even gotten rid of the cranium he used to talk to as he realized he only did it because he in his dumb teenager brain thought it was kinda cool, NOT because he was crazy. He was in fact very sane. Sane enough to think all sorts of things. He just tried to copy Tom Hanks in the movie Cast Away because it would be cool to be that kind of crazy.
But the problem with being alone with your own thoughts is that you get to think all sorts of things. No matter how grotesquely they are.
"Wait a minute." IQ realized something that would be kinda funny if it wasn't so terrible and absurd. "My GRANDFATHER was an Afro-American guy who married a white chick. That means that Martin Luther King is PARTLY to blame for me being born! Martin Luther King is PARTLY responsible for the death of humanity!"
And then, all the color in IQ's face faded away.
"Oh my god." A single tear fell from his left eye. "I... I did it, didn’t I? I did it. It's all my fault. No one is to blame but me. I... I killed all of humanity!"
IQ couldn't hold his tears back and began to cry like a little child. His cheeks were wet with tears, his nose dripped and he screamed as if he had lost a limb.
"I'm so sorry! I'm... I'm so, so sorry!" Max yelled over and over again, knowing fully well that it was much too late for apologies. "I'm so god damn freaking FUCKING sorry!"
***
It had been twenty years now since Maximilian Augustson had accidentally killed all of humanity except for himself.
Max was doing some gardening. He liked taking care of his carrots and found it odd that he had once despised them. But once you learned to treat them with respect and feed them properly then you didn't have to worry about getting tiny bite-marks on your fingers.
It was almost impossible to recognize the former terror teen who had once been one of the world's most chaotic super-villains. Not just because he had become an adult with a well-trimmed beard, but there was none of his former traits left. He had stopped dying his hair red and black so it had it's natural nut-brown color again. He wore a light-blue T-shirt and green pants instead of that silly "Gothic/Punk Rock" style outfit he used to wear. And, most importantly: He never smiled anymore. No that there was much to smile about. And it didn't really matter if he was unrecognizable or not since there was no one left to recognize him.
As Max finished gardening, he decided to make himself a cup of tea. He left the garden, passed the spaceship (he had build to find another planet with intelligent life on it but decided not to in order to punish himself) and took off his shoes before entering the beautiful house he had build for himself with his own hands. He boiled some water and took a look at the kitchen and all of it's equipment. Like the rest of the house and everything inside it, it was handmade by Max who had plenty of time and needed to keep himself occupied to evade insanity. Sure, going crazy would at this point be a blessing, but he didn't really feel that he deserved it. As he waited for the water to boil, he pondered whether he should build a piano or an organ.
After Max had made his tea, he took his cup and went into his library. He had a good little collection of books he had managed to find in the ruins of homes and libraries as he traveled the world looking for potential resources. After taking book after book out of his shelves only to change his mind and put them back in their proper place, he decided to pick the last Harry Potter book in existence (volume two, written in Swedish) and went out to the terrace. He sat in his favorite chair and began to read.
Life was tolerable.
For now.

One adaptation after the other I have met many versions of Kotoko Aihara & Naoki Irie from the original manga series Itazura na Kiss for the entire stretch of my childhood to now. There was Yuan Xiang Qin & Jiang Zhi Shu from the Taiwanese drama adaptation, ‘It Started with a Kiss‘ and its sequel ‘They Kiss Again‘. There’s also Oh Ha Ni & Baek Seung Jo from the Korean adaptation, ‘Playful Kiss‘. Then another Taiwanese remake, ‘Miss in Kiss‘ introduced me to Yue-Qin & Zhi Shu. The list goes on. Other adaptations are out there–in dramas, anime & movies–and I don’t think it will stop even when I’m 50, 60 or 90 years old.
It’s a routine that such a franchise, which became a huge phenomenon over time, will continue to have other adaptations in the future, but that you just can’t get tired of it since this is the drama that started everything for you. It may not be the best, but certainly it does have a space in your heart. Admit it or not!
That’s why I was also intrigued when I found this Taiwanese movie adaptation of the series, entitled ‘Fall in Love at First Kiss‘ over the internet and out of curiosity watched it during my day off.
Comparison to the older versions will always be a habit to someone like me who has been a fan of the series, however, that also truly enjoyed this movie version like the others that I want to share it to you on my blog.
So, to kick of the spring season with another movie review, I’ll start dissecting this now for you.
The Characters
Jelly Lin as Yuan Xiangqin (原湘琴) Darren Wang as Jiang Zhishu (江直树)
The Story
Yuan Xiangqin (Jelly Lin) is on her way to her first day in her new school when she accidentally trips on the stairs and takes along with her Jiang Zhishu (Darren Wang)’s phone. As Zhishu tries to thing of ways to save both Xiangqin and his phone from a very bad fall, Xiangqin grabs on his tie for her dear life’s sake and that’s the first time their lips actually met.
Xiangqin falls in love at first sight for Zhishu. However, as the school year went on, Xiangqin discovers that Zhishu isn’t just an ordinary boy, but in fact a genius with an IQ of 200 and is in the top of the entire school population in terms of everything. He’s so out of her league that it took her two years later to confess her feelings to Zhishu.
Her sincere feelings though was quickly flat out rejected by the cold-hearted prince, Zhishu, who expressed his annoyance over idiotic girls from Class F that kept chasing after him. He knew that he isn’t into her kind and the best way to end her fantasy about him was to show her what she deserved. The rejection she got eventually circulated because of the watching students in Class A’s building.
Xiangqin’s life turns for the worst as she became the laughing stock at school and also lost her home to a weak earthquake. On the other hand, it’s as if luck is also on her side, because her dad is actually good friends with Zhishu’s dad that they end up living under the same roof later.
Zhishu is still cold-hearted to his new housemate, but in time his softer side shows in snippets whenever Xiangqin is around. Of course, wherever Xiangqin is, it becomes a little chaotic and that’s how things start to change for the cold-hearted Zhishu. He learns to think about others and also dream a dream for himself instead of for others.
Things get a little bittersweet for the both of them as they get ready for college life. Zhishu discovers more of himself and begins to think he wants to build a life for himself. He and his dad argues because of this. Zhishu eventually leaves home, but that in the long run his dad gets very sick he needs to step in again. In the process of taking care of everything for his family, though, he sacrifices his relationship with Xiangqin.
Xiangqin is very hurt for the rejection that she keeps getting from Zhishu over time. However, that she also knew it’s time to stop hurting herself where there is Zhishu. So, she and her father decide to move out of the Jiang’s house and from then until a year later, Xiangqin is seen on her own. Her only anchor during those times was whenever she sees updates on Zhishu’s social media account and figures that he’s at least happy with his life with someone even if it isn’t her.
Later, she sees another post from Zhishu and this time it’s about him doing a speech at their old high school. Xiangqin knew she shouldn’t go, but the urge to see him again is strong, so she takes courage even if it’s just for a while. When she goes there, however, Xiangqin is surprised that it isn’t as she expected it to be.
Will Xiangqin finally receive Zhishu’s love?
Review
While this version has its own modern twist to it, I’m not certainly sure if it’s any better than the older versions. I mean, for me it works fine, but it also lacks a lot of things.
The older adaptations had its own set of flaws, but I gotta say I like the Korean version best, (Playful Kiss, Jung So Min & Kim Hyun Joong) then I’d put ‘It Started with A Kiss’ in second place since it’s probably the longest and I had more time to cherish the moments between the leads both during their high school years and as they mature into adults.
On the other hand, this movie felt like a quick recap of everything. I gotta say it made me feel it’s too rushed. It’s like you’re skimming through the entire plot while you also know that it should have been longer. However, that I also understand a two hour movie can’t make up for a whole lot of chapters there. It was originally a series and a movie won’t give justice to the length, which is a given.
What I like about this movie though despite the time constraint is that it was still able to capture the youthfulness of the main characters and also the chemistry between the two leads throughout the movie. I felt real emotions from Jelly Lin and Darren Wang, though both could have worked more on their acting.
Jelly Lin was able to make Xiangqin’s character very lovable (and tolerable to a point). Because despite the fact she’s a noble idiot who is willing to always forgive Zhishu, in time Xiangqin grew up and learned how to fight back and also knew when to give up, which made me feel very sympathetic to her character towards the end.
Darren Wang was also good in portraying Zhishu, however, that often I feel like he was stiff and there was not much emotions there. He felt like a very dreamy character, but I also like that there are moments when you see him become jealous because of Xiangqin that it really breaks the ice for his character. It made me feel that Zhishu isn’t just a perfect character that everybody loves in high school. He also have genuine flaws and unexplainable behaviors and decisions in life, which makes his character a little bit unreadable and often found it annoying. However, if you watch towards the end of the movie, his short POV will be revealed and you’ll witness the small but rewarding gestures of affection he was able to secretly show Xiangqin, which I found totally cute and sweet of him. Basically, he hit it off with the Tsundere type of guy. He’s harsh on the outside that you’ll hate him for making Xiangqin feel ashamed of herself, but eventually there’s that gentleness inside of him too.
As a pair both of them are lovable and also annoying, but I can say that the chemistry is there. There’s no doubt to it that they didn’t feel like an awkward pair of lovers.
Story-wise I can say that the movie is more plot driven than character driven (like the older versions), so there are parts that you may feel like there isn’t any sort of strong motivation for this character to do this and that. There are also those moments you may find a little exaggerating and ridiculous, but if you look at the big picture, those are little flaws compared to the entertainment you’ll gain from watching the movie though I can tell you this isn’t the best. It’s like those typical romance movies you watch, so don’t set your expectations very high.
And while the main characters and some minor ones are good enough in acting, I certainly found Zhishu’s mother’s acting very cringey. She tried to make herself very animated, but failed to do so. The two dads were actually better at portraying their roles and it felt like both leads had better chemistry with them. And then at first I wasn’t sure if the little brother was doing fine, but I guess I liked him towards the end. He certainly did Xiangqin a big favor of making her realized about Zhishu’s intention.
Aesthetically, I dare say that cinematography and setting of the movie was really nice. It made up for what the movie lacked in other aspects despite that it didn’t entirely cover up for it. The theme song during the credits was also really cute and catchy I even downloaded it.
To sum up this experience, I still want to give the movie two thumbs up despite it not being the best. Personally, I won’t pay to watch for it inside a cinema, but I’ll watch it any other day at home. I mean, it’s entertaining, the characters are really cute (and Darren Wang is a little handsome…), and it’s certainly something an ‘Itazura na Kiss’ fan shouldn’t miss.
You’ve watch the older version, so why not another one? Give it a try! I doubt you’ll get bored.
Rating
The movie is certainly not a fail, but isn’t also one of the best out there, so I’m giving it a 4.1 out of 5.0.

ShouId i get Maternity Insurance or just depend on Medicaid? What is the best & most affordable maternity ins?
Although it has been asked many times, I need the most recent answer or suggestion of my problem : I'm married and currently we are planning to have a baby. We know that health insurance, especially which cover maternity will be very expensive, while we never know when will I get pregnant (we've been trying for 9 months and I'm not yet get pregnant). We both are working now but not making really good money, yet probably not too little to be eligible for Medicaid too. I've been searching for some health insurance and agents but all of them offer me a high - not affordable premium which doesn't cover everything as well .. We recently both purchased $1M 10-year renewable term life insurance policies that we expect to keep for 10 years. We chose not to use life insurance trusts because the purpose of the policies is to replace the lost income of the deceased spouse if one of us dies relatively soon, not to increase our final estate, and the trusts are somewhat costly. We each specified our own trusts as the beneficiaries, because we want the disposition of assets specified there to be used for this money. The trusts provide for the income, and principle if needed, to be paid to the spouse, and for the remainder to be paid to our child at the remaining spouses death. The question of ownership of the policies is less clear. My lawyer says that it doesn't make much difference who owns them, because the value (estate) taxed is only one year's premium, not the $1M. My accountant says that the $1M is taxed, and that each policy should be owned by the other spouse to avoid tax on that amount. A friend said that there's no way to avoid or significantly decrease the tax, so just leave the ownership as is (each spouse owns their own policy). A further fly in the ointment is that the insurance company (Massachusetts SBLI) makes some forms of trust ownership more difficult and costly. I'm confused. What ownership is the best? What is the benefit of that choice? Thanks for your time.""

Okay so I just got a quote from Geico that is half of what I'm paying my current insurance company. My insurance payment is due the 23rd though. Now they told me that the whole process of signing up would take from a few days to 30. I wont be driving my car these holidays so would it be possible for me to cancel my coverage with the other company and sign up with Geico. If I cancel will my license get suspended? I just don't wanna have to send the tag back because it cost me 400 dollars to take out.

Help with car insurance claim process?
A few days ago I scraped a co-worker's vehicle in our work parking lot. She wasn't in a proper parking space, but whatever, it was clearly my fault. I am paying for repairs to her car. I have pictures of my vehicle after the accident, but not of hers, because she left for the day while I was trying to find out who I had hit and find her in the building. I haven't brought this up with my insurance company yet. I initially thought I was going to be paying for scuffs to be buffed out of her back bumper, which wouldn't be cheap to fix but I figured it'd be inexpensive enough that I wouldn't involve my insurance. Today she handed me an estimate for $600+ for bumper replacement and paint work, etc. Fine. It was my fault. I'll eat it. But if I now want to involve my insurance, what do I do? Do I need her insurance info to file a claim? If I call up my insurance, does her insurance have to also become involved? I'm not even fixing my car - the fender's messed up but it's an old car and cosmetic damage doesn't bother me. I don't know what my insurance deductible is...if it's $500+ then I guess I won't bother and will just pay up in cash.""

Can I have two Health Insurance Policies from different states?
Before you answer, please read this thoroughly. I am a student and Illinois Resident. I have PPO health insurance in Illinois that I pay out of pocket for. $1000 deductible, 100% covered. I go to school in Florida and have employer insurance in FL (ever since Sept 2008), but it's an HMO. The PPO my job offers has no deductible but is 80/20 coverage, so I opted the HMO. For the average person, it would make no sense to have 2 policies, but I'm not ordinary. I have many pre-existing conditions (some I was born with), hence the Illinois coverage. In Dec of last year, before my FL insurance kicked in, I had a multitude of issues which caused me to have to use my BCBS of IL in Florida where I'm attending school. Many of those things are at bay now, but for doctor visits, exams, etc to arise other than routine check ups, should I start using my FL HMO insurance and just use my IL insurance for when I visit home during breaks? Or should I just drop my FL insurance altogether? The reason this is an issue is b/c I am afraid I my rates will go up or they drop me if I continue to use my insurance which was meant to be for IL, but I have been using it in another state. Yes they will cover b/c it's PPO and it falls under the BCBS umbrella, but this is the risk I take. I will NOT drop my Illinois insurance because I have pre-existing issues that is NOT covered by my FL insurance, so switching isn't even on option. Plus they keep doing layoffs and my certainty at this job isn't guaranteed. Furthermore, I keep reading about fraud, this is not my intent. I am just trying not to have my rates rise anymore b/c I am a student and not making much as it is. I am looking for the best coverage because good health care is my primary concern. I am NOT trying to file a double claim with both insurances, and I am NOT trying to collect any money out of this. Things happen like the flu, ER visits, and any other reason to visit the doctor when you are sick or injured. I have a 2 week window during open enrollment to drop my coverage thru my job. I pay only $20 per paycheck for my FL HMO insurance. So the little amount really isn't that much to fret over, but I need to know b/c I don't want my IL insurance to go up or to be denied covereage b/c I have two policies out there. Someone please give me some guidance. :) I have called my insurance company on both ends, but I can't get a straight answer from either. It's always the you need to contact the other company for the answer . So I am running around in circles. I was even told to just find out after I use my FL insurance to see. I'm afraid to take the gamble.""

Car insurance company offered me too low?
A few weeks ago my car was rear ended and has minor frame damage from the collision. The insurance adjustor's checked it out and offered me $700 to fix the paint on the bumper, repair the bumper support and 2 hours on a frame rack. Details about my car: The passenger rear taillight is pushed in about a centimeter - the quarter panel now sticks out a tad and is crumpled in the wheelwell - my passenger framerail has a warp in it from the accident. Now they are claiming that my car was in a previous accident because of filler paint or something in the trunk. They claim that because I have a hole cut into my frame rail that the car was previously pulled and that's where the damage came from. I drove the car for 4 years, I think I'd know if my taillight was pushed in and my quarter panel was sticking out. They told me to take it to an auto body to have it looked at and they would contact them on a final settlement - BUT I feel the car is unsafe to drive. I do not want to drive a car with previous frame damage (fixed). Would I be able to take the money and buy a different car without the body shop doing work on it?""

Nigerian Fashion Stylist Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, just revealed in an interview that men only become romantic after they have had s*x. Read the interview below; After your degree in Economics why is fashion styling the next option for you? For me, fashion has been my way of life. It has been my culture and I knew it was the next thing for me as I needed to embed my ideas into other people. How does it feel to have recently won the Face of Candid City Stylist award? It feels very timely. I feel very joyous, elated and advantageous. Experience over the years has shown that easterners hardly encourage educating the female child. How were you able to achieve a degree in economics with this age-long challenge? I personally think it is a very primordial and ancient way of thinking. The world has gone past that now. Women are almost the most highly educated humans. Check the ten most educated people on the planet. There’s a woman with a high IQ of over 200. Also, how I was able to achieve this was self determination, considering the family that I come from. Contrary to your recent audacious declaration that you have never dated a man that is good in bed, during an interview with Broadway TV, how would you describe yourself? I will describe myself as inventive, productive, with integrity, industrious, and very emotional. What pisses you off about the Nigerian culture? Nothing pisses me off. I get so emotional being a Nigerian. Our culture is multi-ethnic and so are our people. I cherish every moment and every piece of our culture. This is my heritage. What’s the role of s*x in a romantic relationship? I think it connects and helps you bond whilst creating a sense of happiness, giving you a better self esteem. Fashion stylists in Nigeria are now probably a dime a dozen as they are everywhere. However, among the lot there’s hardly anyone who could forward as a true professional. Most only did a crash course to know the rudiments of the profession but not Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, who prides herself as the only fashion stylist in Nigeria who studied the craft as a true professional. Though an economist by primary training, Pearl Chidinma has taken fashion styling as her calling and has even bagged some awards to show for it. In this interview with Star Tracker, the down-to-earth woman of steel, with a heart of gold lets us into her heart, unleashing her deep thoughts, fears and desires. After your degree in Economics why is fashion styling the next option for you? For me, fashion has been my way of life. No. there must be an climax Would you marry a ‘less than five minutes’ man in bed? Yes, it totally depends on what we feel for each other. How often do fellow women make romantic passes at you? Very often. What’s the role of s*x in a romantic relationship? I think it connects and helps you bond whilst creating a sense of happiness, giving you a better self esteem. How does it make you feel? It makes me feel good and to remember that I have a hot and banging body. You once said you like to be ‘Old School’ when it comes to romantic issues. Would you say there are still romantic men in Nigeria? Men in Nigeria are only romantic when they haven’t tasted the honey pot. Can a woman change a cheating man? Variety they say, is the spice of life. Once a woman can bring various interesting spices to the relationship, he would have no where to go. So, Yes! There’s a woman out there who can change a cheating man. What would you do if after marriage your man is accidentally rendered impotent Like I always say, we would work together to make his private part be a better dwelling place for us all. Why do women feel the need to control their men? There is absolutely no need for a woman to want to control a man. I feel there’s need for women to be extremely submissive and respective.

Geena Davis: Thelma & Louise changed everything for me
It was the moment she realised how few inspiring women there are on screen. Now the actor is on a mission to fix that
Somewhere in a parallel universe, Geena Davis is having the time of her life. Yes! Enjoying this new era in American history! As one of the few women to have played a US president on screen, in her parallel universe Davis is having a lovely conversation with me about how fabulous it feels to see a woman finally make it to the White House.
This isnt the first time the actor has found her presidential fantasies preferable to reality. Eleven years ago, she was President Mackenzie Allen on the TV show Commander In Chief. It had been the number one new show, and it was going to run for eight years. I was going to do two terms, Davis grins ruefully. She won a Golden Globe for the role. Then internal studio politics intervened and the show was cancelled after a single season. For a long time after, I felt like, in an alternate universe, I was still on that show. In my mind, she says, laughing, I wanted to set up the Oval Office in my garage and pretend I was still the president.
Davis hoots at her own absurdity, but for the record she did receive a fairly presidential greeting on arrival at the restaurant where we meet. The Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills hotel is a fantastically kitsch extravaganza of salmon-pink table linen and bad taste, but a Hollywood institution nonetheless. While I waited, the lunch tables filled with industry types, and my requests for a quieter corner were defeated by the expert indifference of waiters who understand the rules of Hollywood hierarchy better than I do. But the instant Davis arrived, the matre d descended into an obsequious froth Miss Davis! Welcome back! and whisked us off to a coveted booth.
So good to see you again! he purrs, before blanching in horror. Davis has a white napkin on her lap, but her trousers are black. Quelle horreur! The offending item is whipped away and replaced with a black one, while Davis tries not to giggle.

Davis has no publicist in tow, and nothing about her outfit would suggest celebrity: she is wearing a loose white T-shirt and the sort of plain and comfortable black jacket and trousers one might put on for Sunday lunch in a nice pub. Were she not so tall (6ft), I might easily have missed her when she arrived, full of apologies for being all of 10 minutes late. I take the matre ds instantaneous excitement to mean she must be a regular, but as soon as hes gone, she whispers, No! I cant even remember the last time I was here. Its this very weird phenomenon. If I go to hotels, they always say, Welcome back, even when Ive never been there before. That must be rather disorienting. Yes, weird! She nods cheerfully. You have all these people saying nice things to you, and it can really be like, Wow, Im very fortunate, arent I? Im very, very grateful for it, you know?
When lunch arrives, she gets the giggles again: her salad is a strangely regimented platter that looks like someones idea of gastro-sophistication circa 1974. Its so kitschy! I was going to show your tape recorder my salad, but that wont work, will it? When her phone rings, the mother of three murmurs the universal prayer of working parents everywhere: Please dont be the nanny, please dont be the nanny, please dont be the nanny. It feels like lunching with a gloriously irreverent and relaxed old friend.
Davis has been a Hollywood star for 35 years, but at 61 her status now is a curious hybrid of insider and outsider, a bit like cinemas Ofsted inspector. When starting out, shed have been astonished to know shed devote the later years of her career to exposing her industrys flaws. Back then, she admits, she couldnt see anything to worry about.

When I was first starting out was also when I first started really paying attention to the Oscars and stuff like that. And I remember thinking, wow, everything is great for women in Hollywood, because Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Jessica Lange, Sally Field: theyre all doing incredible work. Every year, fantastic movies were coming out: The French Lieutenants Woman, The Postman Always Rings Twice, Sophies Choice. I think I did hear that, for women, when you get older it can be a problem, but these actors were already in their 30s, which seemed ancient to me then. So I thought, whats the problem? I started getting really cool parts left and right and centre, and I was like, well, even if it turns out theres a problem, its not going to impact on me.
After making her debut in 1982s classic comedy Tootsie, Davis averaged a movie a year, and could easily have made more had she not been fussy. She did sci-fi horror in The Fly, comic fantasy in Beetlejuice and literary drama in The Accidental Tourist, for which she won a best supporting actress Oscar. She played a baseball star in the sports comedy A League Of Their Own, a bank robber in the crime drama Quick Change and, most memorably, a housewife turned outlaw in the feminist road trip Thelma & Louise. Then she turned 40 and in the entire decade that followed, we saw her face only in Stuart Little.
By the time she turned 50, she was fed up. The neglect of women in film and TV was definitely happening she knew that but to prove it the Mensa member realised she would have to measure it: Because people just make assumptions, dont they? Even when the reality might be completely different. I remember talking to a woman editor of a magazine about all this a while ago, and she said, Oh no, no, no, thats just not a problem any more. I told her it still was. She said, and Davis begins to laugh again, But it cant be. Look at Meryl Streep, she works all the time! I was like, Er, Meryls schedule is the exception.
So, 10 years ago, the actor founded the Geena Davis Institute On Gender In Media. I am completely obsessed with numbers and data. I have become a scientist in later life. The institute conducts exhaustive research to establish the facts of gender representation in family entertainment, and they are grimly arresting.
Male characters outnumber female in family films by a ratio of three to one, a figure that has remained startlingly consistent since 1946. From 2007 to 2014, women made up less than a third of speaking or named characters in the 100 top-grossing films distributed in the US, of which less than 7% were directed by women. Of the female characters that did make it on to screen, fewer than one in five were aged 40-64. Last autumn, the institute partnered with Google to launch the Geena Davis Inclusion Quotient (the GD-IQ), a software program that measures the amount of screen and speaking time given to male and female characters. The results were even more confronting: in the top 200 grossing films of 2014 and 2015, males, Davis discovered, enjoyed literally twice the screen time of females, and spoke twice as often.
Its easy to see why this would matter to Davis, or any other female actor, but why should the rest of us care? This gender bias is so ingrained in us, and stuffed into our DNA from when were little, from our first exposure to popular culture. If kids movies and TV shows have profoundly fewer female characters than male characters, and theres nobody saying, By the way, honey, this isnt real. Thats not how the real world is. From 2006 to 2009, not one female character was depicted in a G-rated family film working in the field of medical science, as a business leader, in law or in politics. Our motto is: if they can see it, they can be it. Completely unconsciously, boys and girls are getting the message that girls are less important and less valuable to our society, because theyre not there. And if they are there, theyre not talking.

Another way of looking at it, I suggest, would be that what we see on screen is, in fact, uncannily accurate. In a typical crowd scene, female extras account for just 17% of the faces we see a figure close to this crops up across all sorts of sectors in real life in America. Fortune 500 boards are around 20% female, as is Congress. Fewer then 20% of US legal partners, the military and cardiac surgeons are female.
Yes, Davis agrees, but I think the impact of media images is so profound that we actually could make life imitate art. You know, you see a dog or something and you say, Oh, hes cute? The default is always male, and its because weve had such a male-centred culture. And its because its what we see and hear from the very beginning.
I remember I was once with my boys [she has 12-year-old twins, and a 14-year-old daughter] in a park and they saw a squirrel. I consciously decided to say, Look, shes so cute and they both turned to me with surprised expressions and said, How do you know its a girl? I was like, wow, Ive already failed. They were four years old.
Davis takes all the data to Hollywoods decision-makers and creators: heads of studios, production companies, guilds. Does she come in for a bit of oh-no-here-comes-the-feminist eye-rolling? Oh no. No! If I was going in just saying, Youre making fewer movies starring a female character than male characters, theyd say, Yes, we know that. Were fully aware of that. We hope we can do better. We wish we could do better. And they would probably turn to this myth in Hollywood that women will watch men, but men dont want to watch women, so were forced to make all the stories about men.
Instead, Davis shows them the GD-IQs findings on profitability. Films featuring female leads make on average 15% more than those with male leads, while films featuring male and female co-leads earn almost 24% more than those with either a solo male or female lead. Their jaws are on the ground. She grins. Everywhere we go, its the exact same reaction. They are floored.
***
Had anyone told Davis in her youth that she would one day be an activist and advocate, she would have been equally floored. She grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, a bookish child and church organist, and was constantly shy. Just totally shy, especially about men. I had one date in high school, that was it, and he didnt ask me out again, she laughs, because I was taller than everybody. I was very gangly and awkward, and I wore weird clothes that I made. I think my fondest wish as a kid was to take up less space.

Most peoples childhood self-image can seem surprising by the time theyre in their 60s, but in Daviss case the discrepancy feels comical. She is 6ft and appropriately proportioned, so occupies as much space as you would expect someone with the dimensions of an imposing man to fill. Her voice is gutsy, soaring from throaty depths to gales of laughter, and her beauty is unlike anything Ive observed in an actor. Beautiful women who have lived their life in the public gaze tend to convey an awareness of others admiration that can sometimes seem self-conscious, and sometimes almost pointedly detached. Davis, on the other hand, reminds me more of my cat, a ludicrously gorgeous creature who seems to take as much pleasure from its beauty as any admirer ever could. If I picture Davis looking at herself in the mirror, she isnt frowning anxiously but smiling back at her famous dimples.
And yet she goes on, I think I really wanted to take up less space. It seemed like every time I was exuberant or free, I would get pointed at. Things that really stand out from my childhood were incidents where people told me to tone it down. Like my beloved aunt Gloria, who was a role model and just everything to me, and who adored me, and would say things like, Youre really going to have to learn to laugh more quietly, because boys arent going to like a loud lady.
She knew from the age of three that she wanted to act, and studied drama at Boston University. But the most important thing was that people like me and think Im no trouble. It was as if I lived in some bubble of extreme femininity where you must never say your feelings. I had people who wouldnt date me because I couldnt even decide what restaurant I wanted to go to, literally. I never said my opinion about anything. I was afraid to.
Everything changed in 1990 when she made Thelma & Louise. Davis played Thelma, an unhappy wife who takes off with her friend Louise, played by Susan Sarandon, for a two-day road trip in an old Thunderbird convertible. When a man they meet in a bar tries to rape Thelma, Louise shoots him dead. Convinced the police will never believe their account of events, because Thelma had been drinking and seen dancing with the man before he attacked her, the pair take off. Liberated from the constraints of social convention and the law, they embark on a raucously anarchic adventure from which they will never return.

Davis had her agent call Ridley Scott, the films director, every single week for a year in a concerted campaign to land the part. So it was really, really a passion project for me. And I was aware of womens position in Hollywood by then. But then, when the movie came out and I saw the reaction women had, it was night and day: completely different from anything that had ever happened before, you know? Women wanted to really talk about how it impacted on them. Theyd tell me, This is what I thought, this is who I saw it with, this is how many times Ive seen it, this is how it really changed my marriage. Sometimes Id even hear, My friend and I took a road trip and acted out your trip. Her eyes widen as she laughs. Im like, I hope the good parts? But that really struck me, and it made me realise how few opportunities there are to feel inspired by the female characters we watch. That changed everything for me.
Working with Sarandon changed everything, too. Every day on set, I was just learning how to be more myself, you know? Just because she was such a role model to me. Davis would arrive each morning with her notes tentatively framed in the apologetic, would-you-mind-awfully register of regulation feminine decorum. Sarandon would bustle in, open her mouth and speak her mind. Davis still beams at the memory, and credits it with revolutionising the way she operated.
Her institute is now in its 10th year, but has yet to generate any measurable change in onscreen representation. I feel very confident thats going to happen in the next five to 10 years, though. I know it will. Theres one childrens network that tells us, every time someone pitches a new idea, someone asks, What would Geena say? She roars with laughter. Which is exactly what I want! The parallel between her work and recent increasingly successful campaigns for greater ethnic onscreen diversity in Hollywood speak for themselves, she says. Its exactly the same problem, with exactly the same solution. When a sector of society is left out of the popular culture, its cultural annihilation.
Davis does still act; in recent years, she starred in the TV shows Greys Anatomy and The Exorcist, and appears in the forthcoming sci-fi thriller Marjorie Prime. Shes also in Dont Talk To Irene, an indie film about an overweight cheerleader, which premiered recently in Canada. But its very clear that acting is no longer her driving ambition. She gets much more excited talking about the film festival she co-founded in 2015, the only one in the world to offer its winners the prize of guaranteed distribution, both theatrical and through DVD. The Bentonville festival explicitly exists to champion and promote female and other minority film-makers, and last year became the eighth biggest film festival in the world; this year, it will open in early May in Arkansas and more than 100,000 people are expected to attend.
With husband, Reza Jarrahy, in 2013. Photograph: Getty
The most conventionally starlet thing about Davis these days is probably her marital history: she is now on her fourth marriage. The first, in 1982, lasted less than a year; her second, to the actor and her sometime co-star Jeff Goldblum in 1987, lasted only slightly longer, and was over by 1990. In 1993, she wed the director Renny Harlin, but divorced again in 1998. She has been married to her fourth husband, Reza Jarrahy, the father of her three children, and an Iranian-American plastic surgeon, for 16 years now. Giving birth for the first time at 46, followed by twins at 48, is not an entirely advisable maternal strategy, she laughs. I dont know how I assumed I could wait that long, and I wouldnt recommend it. Id always known I wanted to have kids, but somehow, before then, there wasnt any time I was planning it.
When we part, she gives me a great bear hug and her phone number, and it strikes me that she must be one of the happiest movie stars I can remember meeting. The parallel universe she inhabits appears to have much to recommend it. I had assumed she would put Hillary Clintons defeat down to her motto If she can see it, she can be it so ask if she thinks America would have voted a different way last September had the notion of a woman in charge of the country looked more familiar.
You know, she surprises me, I dont know. I like to just think that she won the popular vote by an enormous amount. She was not this horrifically flawed candidate everyone wants to paint. I mean, OK, she didnt win the electoral college vote. But, in another way, she did win. In Daviss parallel universe, the popular vote determined who would move into the White House, and all is well with the world.
