I don’t think I’ll ever forgive old tumblr for the shit it did to the asexual movement.
The fact some people just moved on from that by deleting posts, accounts, side blogs but never apologising or doing anything to mend the harm they caused speaks volumes.
Some people are still active to this day, some who actively posted against asexual people, who made hate blogs for them, who liked and reblogged every single post under the tags, who only ever liked 3 posts but still supported them.
There’s no apologies on the internet; no fully true ones especially not on public socials like tumblr, TikTok, twitter and instagram (I’ll give leeway to platforms like discord as it’s a more inclosed community). So while I wouldn’t have accepted the apology it would have been nice to fucking receive one

Hi
I'm Cipher
Contrary to popular belief, I’m a CisHet Dude.
Just trying to be welcoming.
... The entire description is in the blog description.
Also, if you are wondering about the ‘#not prev’ I put on most of my posts, It either means I’m not OP, or I'm not the person who wrote the tags that appear before it, or both.
Think of it as a barrier of sorts, where the post ends, and I begin, God that's pretentious as all hell, sorry for that.
ANONS ARE NOW OFF FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE DUE TO A HARASSMENT CAMPAIGN LED AGAINST ME.

I like how the ace spectrum is just “Yeah I want a relationship BUT I want garlic bread and books about astrology and dragons and I will get crumbs on the bed and I will tell you about Percy Jackson books until I pass out” my favorite types of people, have fun reading with your ace friends or partners❤️

Me: asexual out of the closed for like 3 years, pretty much sex repulsed, complaining about how I hate my period cus it makes me so sick that I can't leave my bed (plus I take medication in order to not get my period cus it makes me anemic so)
Also my best friend who I've know for years and was one of the first people I came out to: at some point (when u start having sex) you'll be thankful for having your period
Girl fuck u

happy ace day friendly reminder to the lgbt community that "asexuality doesn't exist, you should just get game and then you will realize you are just confused" is the exact same as "you are not really gay, you just need to meet x and you will realize you are just confused" no this is not up for debate. you don't get to decide what i do with my sex life just as much as no one gets to decide yours. If you are a part of the LGBT and you say shit like that, then you are not a real ally, you are a hypocrite. thank you.

Gotta love when you say you’re asexual and someone tells you “but you’re at prime breeding age!” or “so you’re only dating out of pity”

Here’s a question that I’m conflicted about:
Should you be able to sexualize a canonically asexual character?
I personally think no. But one could make the argument that asexual =\= above sex. I’m mean there is sex repulsion but unless the creator says they’re a sex repulsed asexual, it should be fine. On the other hand it’s still in a way erasing the representation of an asexual character by only depicting them as sexual.
It’s very confusing to me cause when I see a asexual character being sexualized (especially if it’s an aroace character) it makes me sad, cuz the people depicting the asexual character in typically sexual situations are blatantly ignoring their asexuality. I’d compare it to turning a canonically gay character straight. But at the same time I recognize that depicting asexuals as strictly not into sex is very damaging to the asexual community as it could lead to misunderstanding what asexuality is? This just may be a personal problem :/
What do you guys think?

Well, Amin Sharaf, it seems like you excel at jumping to conclusions, don't you? Let me enlighten you since it appears you could use some education: asexuality is about one's lack of sexual attraction, not about how they dress.

I am so mad about the acebaiting in inside job.
For context, inside job in the first season coded the main character as being on both the asexual spectrum and aromsntic spectrum. Only kinda a problem because she is also autistic and there is a stereotype about all aro-ace people being autistic or all autistic people being aro-ace. But its not big enough of a problem were it can't be fixed by just having more representation and leaning into that representation they had, even if it was accidental.
But instead of the writers doing that, in the FIRST EPISODE OF SEASON 2 they full throttled into her getting into a relationship and having sex with a random guy she met in that episode because they were both similar and had some shared trauma.
This pisses me off because I'm a neurodivergent aro-ace mixed person with trauma and a lot of missing memorys of my childhood like reagan and I felt represented by her. And than for the writers rugpull an aspect of representation from her for no reason and than act like its character development to suddenly become nolonger aro-ace is incredibly offensive.
Future writers please dont retcon accidental queer coding, embrace it. Even if it somehow throws off the story still embrace it. If it can be taken as problematic than fix that, especially if the fix is as easy as more representation. If you retcon queer coding your going to alienate anyone who resonated with that coding instantly.
