thinking about cranboo and how theyre a huge bitch

For context someone who said they were Shelby's cousin blames shelby for the abuse, said she mad them cry and that she did it to herself. And that she was yelling at Wilbur and to support Wilbur.

Shelby commented on it saying that she only had one cousins and it clearly wasn't them.

Now people are questioning why "she got so defensive" to a fan account.

You assume this allegation is true but don't assume that someone could be using AI to write that (because it was screenshot of text with a popular image of Wilbur in the background) because they like him?

Did you not assume that maybe... Just maybe, someone would (like Emma) make up some random BS for personal gain and then exploit it?

Did you not assume that with an Apology come with the acknowledgement that you did those things? Because Wilbur didn't deny it. He expressed he did do it actually, he just did a terrible job of justify it.

Did your assumption not lead you to the conclusion that text is easier to fake then a real person with real tears telling you?

Did you not assume that it's become a trend to fake things for clout?

Did you not look back and go "but there was tons of evidence BEFORE shelby said anything"?

Did you not go back and think, shelby's a person and she's allowed to be upset. She also knows her own family and probably know the social media account that her family uses, so it can't certainly be that person?

Or do you have your values so far up, that you cannot see AI when its right in front of you.

If you can't see one of these many things, then either you need to think about yourself and do some soul searching or your genuinely deluded.

There was even a comment say it looks like an AI generated response, and guess what? When I went back to take a ss of it for this post the user had suddenly been reported and suddenly couldn't use there account.

Also it you're a "oh I'm neutral on the matter. I don't support anyone" person. I hope you seek a conclusion because you clearly can't see the one in front of you.

Hey everyone, as a fundie Christianity survivor, I think it's important to acknowledge that the fight to keep Roe v. Wade shouldn't be turned into an argument about whether we call it "reproductive rights" or "women's rights" because BOTH are in danger. The overturning of Roe v. Wade absolutely stems from an evangelical desire to control women and their bodies, so it's an issue of women's rights; that being said, the overturning of Roe v. Wade also affects trans and nonbinary people assigned female at birth, so it's also a reproductive rights issue.

It's not one or the other, it's both, and the issue should be treated as such. I'm tired of seeing posts that say "we can't call it a women's rights issue, it's not inclusive" when we can BE inclusive while still acknowledging that this rhetoric stems from vile gender essentialist thinking.

i want to say. first and foremost, his acting and delivery is absolutely amazing. the way he can just. exude sarcasm and exude sadness and softness and exude genuine joy and. WHEW HIS EMOTIONS ARE JUST SO PALPABLE. THE ABSOLUTE RANGE

and secondly. i want to say that this stream really was the culmination of every single ounce of effort fundy has placed in all his lore streams ever since 2020. fundy understands his character, has understood his character ever since the beginning, and i’m so happy that he gets this fucking hurrah moment. a moment to show his story is not done, that he does acknowledge all the shit he put effort to and wants to prove that he can make masterpieces like this.

Been thinking about how I've heard/read a bit of discourse percolating recently that's advocating for queer/lefty people to move away from words that Christofacsist type fundies weaponize against us like "normal" or "lady."

I am almost always going to be on the side of people who are counter culture, "freaks," "weirdos," whatever...I have been called these things in the cruelest of ways as long as I can remember, typically alongside homophobic, misogynistic, ableist, and fatphobic slurs. In my home growing up, the role of "lady" was pushed on me with so much sexism. Being relegated to the space of "weird girl" by 3rd grade by my peers traumatized me AND it put me in a position to end up making lifelong, incredibly important, foundational, and supportive friendships that saved me.

AND

I also have no interest in letting said Christofacsist type fundies or the equally as bad (but pretending not to be) mainstream republicans or centrists define what these words mean for the rest of all time. If I want to own the word "lady" and define it by the opposite of what "ladylike" meant when I was growing up, I'm going to. My version of "lady" will be fat, queer, ADHD riddled, full of anxiety, fairly unfeminine, and "ugly," but also kind, community oriented, collectivist, expansive, and nebulous. And I don't think that the word “normal” is so irredeemable or specific enough to the fundie usage that I just want to abandon it either.

This is a situation where I think a both/and approach is needed. I’m not gonna use normal like they do AND I’m going to redefine normal as what I know it to be: someone who respects others’ basics humanity, dignity, and bodily autonomy, someone who believes in helping others and general kindness, someone who doesn’t abuse or harm, someone who has the common sense to at a bare minimum, acknowledge how the axis of oppression like racism, transphobia, homophobia, antisemitism, ableism, classism, etc., are harming those who are cast as "other."

It's not fucking NORMAL to push policies that make other people's identities illegal. It's not fucking NORMAL to personally benefit from other's suffering. It's not fucking NORMAL to agree with White Supremacists.

Like--- I'm neutral about canon ghostbur.

But i really really hate how so many people went as far as saying that Ghostbur was all the good parts of Wilbur.

That is just so wrong---- ghostbur has the good memories, but not all the good parts. it just drives me nuts.

ghostbur wasn't good for c!tommy or anyone coping with wilbur's death

it wasn't his fault, but people need to stop depicting him as they do

ohohoho i specifically waited to get to this until i had my laptop because i love me some character analysis! so. lets talk ghostbur!

disclaimer: these are opinions, i didnt write the character, this is just how id analyze ghostbur and audience portrayal of him

so something i think people dont note about ghostbur a lot is the fact that he is not wilbur in a much more real sense than people realize. something that revivebur kind of touches on but people dont really note (in my opinion) is the way the memories and your actions during memories actually shape you as a person. ghostbur could never be all the good parts of wilbur because without the negative memories, he could never have knowledge of how he can be good in negative scenarios, like being good towards tommy in darker times. this is one of the biggest things that makes ghostbur not healthy for the characters around him, and why wilbur being revived is so important to wilbur's overall character arc

ghostbur is the image of wilbur if he never dealt with significant problems, never caused problems or engaged in them, because he only has good memories, he's never seen himself in a negative situation (think to how ghostbur reacts to philza telling him fundy wants to be "adopted" by someone else (i cant remember who at the moment))

when people tell him of his own negative consequences, he literally cannot react in a way of genuine remorse. he feels guilt because he learns that the living version of himself did those things, but he cant actually give any apology that would be beneficial to anyone involved. ghostbur cant apologize for something he cant remember doing because he doesn't know why he acted in those ways.

we can contrast this with when revivebur tries to later apologize (im thinking particularly to fundy) and how when fundy asks why he did those things, he tells him about how he wasn't well mentally. even though fundy doesn't accept the apology (in a very. drastic way), revivebur can actually acknowledge his own motivations, which allows him to actually have a chance as being forgiven.

ghostbur doesnt know any of those motivations, which is why his character is unhealthy. he is literally a ghost of the man he once was, so even though people want genuine answers, before knowing he was going to be revived, they had to realize that ghostbur is basically a punching bag for them to push their issues with c!wilbur onto because ghostbur cant actually respond in any meaningful way in terms of remorse and forgiveness.

also, as for the audience portrayal, i think people got very caught up on the "sweet ghost boy" image rather than what he actually is and how he actually affects the characters. he literally haunts them and reminds them of all the trauma c!wilbur gave them, while knowing that he can't actually answer for any of it because he doesn't remember hurting them

its a very famous philosophical argument (i believe by kant) about the concept of "if someone has no memory of committing a crime, can they actually serve time for it?" because if you have no memory of doing something, can you actually learn from and grow from your experiences?

because ghostbur cant. and thats what hurts the people around him so much. people like c!tommy and c!philza who geniunely care about c!wilbur and want him to be okay know that ghostbur is not that answer because he can't grow from memories he doesnt remember playing a part in, so it hurts to see someone you love be constantly stuck in place of never being able to grow and never being able to answer for all the things you want to ask.

ghostbur is so important to c!wilburs arc because he reminds people not to seek justice on those who can't answer for it. some people actually recognize this, some don't, and some just avoid him like a plague because it hurts.

C!Tommy is my favourite character, however, that doesn’t mean he gets a pass.

In simple word, C!Tommy is a narcissist, or atleast show alot of narcissistic traits. Self importance ? Check. Entitled to some degree ? Check. Arrogant ? Check. Jealous easily ? Check. Rarely believe something is his fault ? Check.

( Obviously, just because someone has some of these traits, that doesn’t mean that they’re a narcissist or a bad person, it depends on the context )

Now, I guess you can say that since Tommy is canonically 16, being a narcissist is expected, because most 16 years old is a self - centred asshole. But like I said many times, just because it’s justified, that doesn’t mean it’s okay.

Tommy has show signs of a narcissist ( Arrogant, entitled ) ever since he joined, and as the lore progresses, he starts to show more. It even gets worse when he got mad because he can’t fathom the fact Tubbo has a life out of him. He threatened to kill Michael for fuck’s sake ( I still love reading about them bonding tho ) !

And the whole “ Me and Tubbo vs Dream “ always gets on my nerves. Yes, Tommy has been hurt by Dream but he’s not the only one. What about Sapnap and Geogre who have to watch their close friend spiral ? What about Puffy who lost her fucking son and felt responsible for how he turn out ? What about Ranboo ? What about Niki and Jack and Fundy who lost their home when he blew up L’ manberg ? What about Vikkstar & Lazarbeam ? Dream has hurt almost everyone, not just Tommy, yet he believes he’s the only one.

Not to mentioned, he claims Tubbo is his bestfriend, yet hesitate when he’s asked to choose between him and the discs. Tommy has been an asshole to Tubbo and Tubbo has also been an asshole to Tommy times to times ( I will cover this more for when Tubbo’s post comes ). C!ClingyDuo is a shitshow (and when you include Ranboo and make it C!BenchTrio, it gets even worse ), they’re both bad for eachother. Sure, there are times where they act like actual, healthy friends, but half the times, their “ friendship “ is held together by shared trauma.

While Tubbo is treated like something comparable to the fucking discs, Ranboo is seen as an obstacle half the times. Yeah, Tommy covered for him when they burnt Geogre’s house, but that’s it. After that, whenever Tommy is with Ranboo, he’s just a tad bit more hostile and he always show jealousy when Ranboo and Tubbo are together. Like C!ClingyDuo, C!AlliumDuo is also toxic as hell and is barely being held together by the fact they have a mutual friend ( Tubbo ).

Don’t even get me start on Jack. I joined the fandom relatively late ( Post Prison Arc ), when the fandom’s opinions start shifting, and Tommy became a baby who can’t do anything wrong, so Jack’s death was pretty much brush over. It doesn’t help that I learn the lore solely through fan content, and as I said, opinions start shifting and Jack’s death got no acknowledgement. I didn’t even know why he was so mad at Tommy until a few weeks ago when I read a fanfic ( On Temporizing by LuckyMagicBelle ). No one in the fandom and the lore acknowledge it except Jack and maybe Niki, not even Tommy himself.

And that’s not even talking about all the casual crimes he commit, which I will not be getting into, because I’m pretty sure everyone have commit atleast 3 casually crimes at this point.

( Putting this just incase. Like in the one I made about Dream, just because Tommy is an asshole sometimes, that doesn’t mean the shit that happened to him is okay. And how he turns out is realistic imo, because I know that if I went through what he did, I’ll come out worse. But still, a flaw is flaw, and this is a call out post. He is child and someone should’ve show him how to be better, not let him continue to be like this )

Conclusion : C!Tommy is an actual war criminal that is in no way, shape or form innocent, yet most the fandom ignore that because they woobified him. He’s an asshole sometimes and it’s fine to be paranoid after the shit he went through but he needs to understand that Dream isn’t always out to get him. Every time I see someone try to lean into the softness of the crimeboys ending it just makes it feel more cruel.

I see something like This

And it makes me think about how c!Wilbur leaving wasn't some quiet inevitablity or a sudden tragedy that nobody could have stopped, it was a choice.

Wilbur wasn't taken, not by tragedy and not by a person, he left. He left Knowing that the people he cared about weren't safe and weren't okay. And then he tried to present That as softness. Not just to us the audience, to the narrative, but to tommy.

And that's what needles me about people trying to present it this way, about it being presented as necessary and soft and healing.

Because wilbur's allowed to prioritize himself. he's allowed to say that he doesn't want to stay, that he doesn't want to be there to protect tommy or tubbo or fundy or anyone else, but he can't have his cake and eat it too. He doesn't get to make the choice to leave them at the mercy of an abuser and serial killer and expect them to be there when He's ready to have a relationship with them. He doesn't get to avoid being honest, to avoid talking about it at all, until he's skipping town to a new country and expect the trust to be there when He wants it.

Wilbur is under no obligation to stay, but tommy is under no obligation to forgive him. Wilbur is under no obligation to protect tommy from a monster, but choosing to abandon tommy with his serial killer abuser on the loose utilizing the power of a god Should erode whatever foundation that relationship had left.

It's not Fair to expect tommy to forgive him, that it's taken for granted that his trust doesn't have to be earned or nurtured. It's not fair that he's been abandoned and left behind and hurt time and time and time again and yet he always forgives, perpetually waiting for the chance to Earn being loved and being left behind anyways.

Letting his anger and sadness at wilbur go because there's nothing he can ever do to have his feelings respected wouldn't be Healthy. It's not the soft ending where everything's allowed to be okay. It'd be a link in a long pattern of unhealthy behavior.

Phil didn't have to apologize, in fact he told tommy to his face that he earned the trauma he gave him by being selfish and tommy not only Let him, but he tried to follow Phil's advice to Fix himself. Because he Needs somebody, Anybody to be there.

He refused to let tubbo apologize after exile because he saw Himself as a bad person, because he Believed that he wasn't worth saving. He held himself responsible for betraying techno before doomsday even started, despite techno being the one who lied to Him. Even if he'd been angry, even if he'd recognized that techno hurt him at first, he quietly let that anger go because techno was Never going to acknowledge that.

He's full of abandonment issues a mile deep and desperately Desperately wants to hold on to the people he cares about, but time and time again he's nobody's priority. Nobody will choose him no matter how desperately he needs it.

This will not teach him to not have abandonment or attachment issues, this will not make the genuine threat of being kidnapped and tortured for eternity go away.

The only thing worse than Wilbur knowingly choosing to leave him when he's in This vulnerable of a position, without even talking it through with him, is the idea that Tommy's not even allowed to be angry about it. That even if he Is angry now he just doesn't have the Perspective to know that it's a good thing yet and he'll Learn eventually.

Just like he Learned that he was selfish all along for wanting to protect his home and friends. Just like he Learned that he was an annoying child that just needed to be fixed.

Nobody has to put in the Work to earn Tommy's love and trust, he just has to realize that he never had the right to be upset in the first place.

I'm gonna say something that might be controversial but I'll say it anyways.

Ahem.

Ranboo's lore is unoriginal by dream SMP standards, not just as a concept. Naturally it's unoriginal by concept standards other people have come up with this idea before.

But on the dsmp he is not the only person to have this lore, and this issue for lack of a better word is why I LOATH to bits people scapegoating CC dream for whoever the CCs didn't or don't communicate. He may have owned the server but the lore wasn't is idea and largely didn't partake in lore, and from what I understand didn't overlook it either.

My impression from looking at fans talk about the lore behind the scenes stuff was that Wilbur was to some unknown extent in charge. But as I heard more stories and rumors about the treatment of the server's playerbase towards their fellow player, it became clear neither was true, and it was always that responsibility to communicate with the other players fell upon to the individual CC to do so, not Wilbur and certainly not Dream as many seem to claim.

Even your favorites are guilty of this, you should scapegoat Dream to ignore the issue just because they're your favorites and Dream is easy to punch down on and pin all the problems of the server on. Hell I rarely see any drama go by without Dream being dragged in as blame partly blamed on him regardless of we know or not he's involved or to blame. He is partly to blame, but not solely like I see a lot of people imply.

The miscommunication problem should have been called out a lot sooner, evidence was kinda always there, but it's now way too late, and i genuinely think some good would have happened if it was addressed.

For example:

Fundy and Ranboo have the exact concept for their lore. And it's never addressed. This is lead to a lot of interesting parallels and themes between the two that are never acknowledged. If it wasn't for the fact the way they discussed their lore and ideas for it, I'd assume it's intentional but it's very clearly not and I think their lore suffers for it.

What is Fundy and Ranboo's lore? Well, person has a supposed subconscious other version of themself with powers the consciousness version doesn't have, and causes the person to have issues sleeping, and generally causes them bouts of severe mentally health issues and "spells" of unreality and disassociations.

This subconscious self claims to the same person as the awake conscious self, and claims to genuinely want to help, but does so in a way that comes across as scary, unhelpful, strange and unusual, their actions and methods concerning. They also claim not to exist. Also, the more this subconscious self takes over, the worse the mental health of the waking conscious self gets.

In both cases this leads the person to another person with a smile motif often known for being shady or morally grey at best, others of the server often keeping their distance from this smile man. Though when they met this smile man, it's in a dream, and it may not even be the real person, the real deal, but rather something conjured up by the subconscious self to serve a purpose of sorts.

Especially now on the QSMP it's plastered everywhere to point if I wonder it's meant to be subconscious programming of sorts and for whom.

Besides a man with a dubious moral code and smile motif, they also come across a mysterious entity. For Ranboo, his Enderwalk ARG calls this entity Z. Just Z. And as for Fundy, it's not named, but there is a shadowy cloaked figure that chases him until he wakes up.

In both cases, they eventually give into this subconscious self seeking help and guidance, hoping for answers from the self proclaimed subconscious version of them directly.

And that's kinda it. Nothing comes from the similarities, and as far as I can tell. They aren't intended to be this similar. I WANT to theorize that they are similar because Z/"Nightmare" is lying to Fundy and Ranboo for some unknown reasons.

But it's basically confirmed that's not the case, Ranboo implied he didn't really know what they wanted from their character having changed their lore and even species a lot, eventually settle on: full blooded enderman that's just a chimera/half albino, and he's not possssed by anything it's genuinely a subconscious self that trusts dream for some/no reason???

And it's too similar to be Fundy somehow was predicted or copying Ranboo in the sense of again, Ranboo kept changing what he wanted the end to be, hell he changed how his death was play out, Wilbur confirmed it was gonna be self sacrifice to save Tubbo only for it to changed to be by Sam's blade.

I largely believe things could have been different if they just communicated, especially given how to some extent unintentionally Fundy gets replaced by Ranboo as Philza's grandson, as in Philza rejects Fundy in lore and disowns him only to turn around and allows Ranboo to live with him and Techno in their secluded fuck off away from everyone else cabin when they shunned nearly everyone else. Additionally Ranboo's being Fundy's last ally prior to Las Nevadas.

It could have been very interesting. It's clear as CCs they talked but also clear there similarities by chance are not intentional. The only thing that hints that I'm wrong here in my eyes is Z talks to Fundy in ender only for Fundy to realize what it means, meaning CC fundy knew about the ender walk but to what extent?????

:(((((((((((((((( stuff like this makes wish things... turned out differently. I genuinely wanted a s2 of dsmp. But seeing the CCs either not show up the ender dragon fight and or slowly quietly leave. Just. Ugh. The community thrives just bittersweet seeing the CCs move on to greener pastures.

Any thoughts on people (mainly minors/teenagers) invalidating things like dead dove and other so-called “problematic” Ao3 themes/tags on the grounds of their own morality and because they deem them bad irl? I’ve been seeing it happen a lot lately with multiple fandoms (stranger things, harry potter, etc) where they go after individuals claiming that the source material is “for children” and therefore the fics are paedophilic (it’s always about paedophelia and sexuality, I swear) but like… tags like “dead dove” exist to keep us safe, no? So we can filter them out when they trigger us?

I guess I’m sort of just wondering if you’ve seen this sort of thing happen before within fandom

(sincerely, a teen who doesn’t interact with dark themes but knows they’ve always existed within fandom and knows how to avoid them.)

These idiots are just the latest iteration of concern trolling bullshit that has long existed inside of and outside of fandom. They don't care about labeling because it's not about safety: it's about purity. As long as humans like dark things, the world is full of sin, oh noes. Acknowledging that people often like dark things and empowering them to set their own boundaries and make their own choices means we can't control and browbeat people.
