I know this is wildly different from my usual art posts BUT I have wanted to make it for a long, long time, because I love sharing any knowledge that might help someone else. SO...
If you (A) don't want to spend more than 1 minute on your face routine, (B) don't want to completely change what your face structure looks like with makeup to have a consistent skin appearance and/or (C) have cystic/nodal/regular acne that just doesn't go away no matter what people tell you to do,
then I give to you:
My One Single Product 1 Minute Makeup Tutorial For People Who Don't Wear Makeup
In which I bravely show you my face to illustrate
Before and after on one of my "best" skin days:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's very likely this is common knowledge for a lot of people BUT I wish I had known it when I was in my teens and struggling with a severe skin condition I thought would eventually go away and never did.
[TLDR: It's a concealer stick that matches your skin]
No, having a skin condition doesn't mean you need to cover it. However, that doesn't mean it can't still hurt your self image, confidence, and relationships with people who give you unsolicited comments on it (because you want to throw them out the window).
SO HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED:
Tumblr media
A concealer stick, my preference being Covergirl's CG Smoothers. They're non-comodogenic and somehow seem to help with my acne, maybe just because covering it helps me not pick at it.
Now, I am the pastiest, whitest shade of white, so I use two shades: "Fair" for my face, which has more of a pink hue, and "Neutralizer" (wheeze) for my neck because it gets even less sun than my face, and is both paler and less pink.
You might be able to get along just fine with one tone if you don't get acne on your neck and chest or have a more even skin tone, but the most important thing is to get the shade that matches your skin tone as close as possible.
To do this, either look in a mirror in the most natural light you can find and hold up your hands and arms until you find a spot that matches your face the closest, then compare the makeup in the store to this. OR.... Just bring a little mirror with you to the store.
STEPS:
Tumblr media
1. Start with a clean face. (Wipe your face with a wet cloth if you haven't washed your face already that day)
Optional step 2. Put on a little moisturizer if your skin dries out and flakes, like mine does. I'm allergic to my cats so I use a medicated cream in place of moisturizer lmao
Tumblr media
3. Swipe the concealer directly onto red spots, scabs, or bumps, and rub it in with your finger making a soft halo that blends in with the rest of your skin.
...and that's it.
Tumblr media
You don't have to do your whole face. You're only adjusting the parts that stands out so they blend in and leaving the rest alone. Some days I cover a few spots, other days it feels like my whole face.
It can't always completely everything, but it makes everything much less noticeable. The shape of scabs may still be there:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It won't cover freshly bleeding wounds well, either... But it will cover the red skin around it:
Tumblr media
Like with any makeup, always remove it before you go to bed!!! With makeup remover or a cleanser! Cheap, unscented makeup wipes work great for me.
So yeah, I'm 30 and only just now started finally seeing improvement in my own skin because I did my own research and asked a doctor to try treatments for hormonal acne instead of all the antibiotic approaches, meaning I'm on spironolactone and thus also a mandatory birth control. But hey! It's something.
Having control over how my face looks helps my confidence and self image, like controlling how my hair or clothes look. I don't feel like I have to wear it any more than I don't have to wear my hair short, I just like it that way.
I also hope that this might be able to help guys too, or anyone else who feels like they're not "allowed" to wear makeup but still struggle with the look of their own skin, since the lack of any other product means you really don't look like you're "wearing makeup".
Anyway, long post over, time to flee 🏃‍♀️

ACNE CAUSES + TIPS
acne is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. while the exact cause of acne is not fully understood, it is believed to be influenced by several factors, including:
Tumblr media
Excess oil production
Bacteria
Hormonal changes
Certain medications
Diet
To help manage and prevent acne, consider the following tips:
Keep your face clean by washing it twice a day with a gentle cleanser.
Avoid touching your face with dirty hands to avoid bacteria spreading onto your face.
Use non-comedogenic skincare products that won't clog your pores.
Choose oil-free and non-comedogenic makeup because (some) makeup can clog skin too.
Limit exposure to direct sunlight and use sunscreen to protect your skin.
Maintain a healthy diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Avoid excessive stress, as it can trigger hormonal changes that may worsen acne.
Talk to a dermatologist for personalized advice and treatment options or take online an online quiz for personalized skincare (I heard Curology is good!)
Remember, everyone's skin is unique, so it may take some trial and error to find the best approach for managing your acne. Be patient and consistent with your skincare routine.

I hate when I mention I have acne and people immediately go "Oh you should buy X product" cause so many of my zits have been caused by just actions and not what creme I'm using/not using so without further ado
Here's a list of habits that may help reduce your ance for $0.
- wash your face first thing in the morning. Don't wait hours after you've woken up
-if your acne is surrounding your hairline, it might be your shampoo. Have they changed the recipe lately or did you switch shampoos?
-STOP PICKING YOUR FACE I SWEAR TO GOD THEY TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT ZITS GOING AWAY. THE HORMONAL ONES MAY PERSIST BUT THE LITTLE STUPID ONES WILL DEMINISH.
-if your acne is going around your neck and down your back, it might be your conditioner. Try rinsing it out sooner and not leaving it in as long. Maybe you could even skip it idk.
-if you're grease training your hair, your skin might not be a fan. I can't do grease training but you might have to power thru this one.
-after you exercise or sweat a bunch at least rinse your face and acne areas with water if you can't shower. Don't wait again.
-if you have zits on the bridge of your nose and on your cheeks, it might be from sunglasses or glasses. Disinfect the frames often.
-switch pillowcases more than you think you need to. Like weekly.
-same with Towels you use to dry and clean your face
-sometimes scrubbing your face too often can cause acne. You don't need to exfoliate often. Or ever sometimes. Depends on the person.
-wash hats and other fabrics that touch your face
-wear breathable clothes where you have acne.
-if you have acne between and under your boobs, and down your back it might be sports bra related. Wash those after every use. (Pads don't have to be washed as often)
-wash your bras more often than normal. But don't wash them as frequently as sports bras. They won't last as long.
-for washing your back get a scrub stick. It's hard to reach all the areas with your hand.
-bumps on your arms can be diminished by moisturizing with normal lotion.
-also most people don't need to moisturize as often as it's talked about.
-some zits are actually infected hairs. Especially if they're in odd areas where acne doesn't normally occur (for me it's the pubic region) these can be plucked and they go away.
-clean your earbuds. Have you had an ear zit? They're gross and painful.
-if you have acne in odd areas that's all over your body, ask if you switched laundry detergent recently? A lot of people I know are sensitive to certain laundry brands.
-never pick your zits with dirty hands and gross fingernails. That shit will get infected so readily.
-also forreal don't pop zits on the lip they take so long to heal and they naturally go away a lot faster.
-if you eat a very greasy meal, wipe your mouth well and rinse it after you're done. And wash your hands well.
-I stopped using concealer cause there's a lot of oil in it naturally, and It made me breakout more.
-if you have a wave of acne, look at where you are on your menstrual cycle and see if it's ovulation or period time. Usually that's when I get breakouts.
Thats all I can think of. I hope I can help anyone else. I've been better about not picking but stopping it before it starts is the best tool. Love you muah❤️💋

I was just out on a run!! In the snow!!⛄️❄️🌨️
It was my first run in a very long time so I just did some very uneven intervals lol! But that doesn’t matter the important thing is that I actually did it!!!
Also my mom got me a Hyaluronic acid serum!😭💕🧖🏻‍♀️✨🙏🏻🩷🧴 I love it!!! She’s the best!
“Sweating produces a naturally antimicrobial peptide called dermcidin, which helps to destroy harmful bacteria on the skin, minimizing the risk for infection, acne breakouts, and flare-ups in chronic skin conditions”

I hate acne
My skin was doing so well for a year, and all of the sudden BAM ACNE!
I’ve struggled with bad forehead acne ever since i was 13, and just last year i found the perfect skin routine.
Now, i have cheek acne (which i’ve never had) and my forehead acne is back.
I think it might be from lack of sleep and makeup (even though i don’t even use concealer or foundation).
it’s just really annoying and draining when i grew up getting made fun of for my acne, especially after my skin did so good for over a year.
i hate it.

Slugging 101
Tumblr media
Photo from Pinterest @pngtree
Slugging is a skincare trend that has gone viral all over social media recently. I’ve seen so many videos all over TikTok promoting this trend with many people showing their excellent results using this method. So what is slugging? Slugging is when you slather your face with a petroleum jelly like Vaseline or Aquaphor. The product acts like a seal on your skin and helps keep the moisture locked into your skin. It also supports a healthy moisture barrier which can reduce wrinkles, acne, acne scars, etc.
How To
The first step is to complete your nightly skincare routine. Slugging should be the last step in your skincare routine.
Grab whatever product you prefer (I use Aquaphor) and slather it all over your face. Leave the product on overnight (do not wash it off). That’s it and you are done!
Tips
Try to finish your skincare routine about an hour before you go to bed so that the product that you are slugging with can soak in. This will prevent the product from getting all over your sheets and pillow.
Apply a small amount all over your face, don’t go overboard
Make sure that you patch test before using new products
Do not use retinols or exfoliators while slugging- this might irritate your skin even more
Use a gentle moisturizer on your skin before you slug
Only slug at night to allow the products to fully soak into your skin
Don’t slug everyday and only slug at night
Don’t slug if you have acne prone skin, inflammatory acne, or oily skin
Only slug over freshly cleaned skin- any dirt or makeup still left over on your skin can lead to irritation or breakouts if you slug over it
Do not slug if you have milia (tiny white bumps on your skin)
There are lots of products you can use for slugging besides Vaseline, you can use Aquaphor or the Cerave Healing Ointment. Find a product that works for your skin.
Key Takeaways
Slugging is a great step to add to your skincare routine. It has so many benefits and can really improve your skin if you do it the right way. You know your body best, if slugging just isn’t working for you, it’s okay to stop and try something else. You don’t always have to follow the skincare trends. Sometimes simple routines are best. I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

welcome back to my personal ramblings! i hope this helps those going through it with acne right now (even if you haven't found your "glass skin" solution yet) or, if you don't personally have acne, i hope this helps you understand what it's like and how you can support someone struggling with the condition of their skin.

Doing Good For My Skin Literally Has Never Felt So Good
I read hundreds of reviews, watched countless YouTube videos, and then finally decided to give in and try it. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic: worth the hype?
110% yes! I love this product. I was so skeptical about trying it because I thought with the brand being so highly successful they could have easily paid for their reviews and endorsed beauty bloggers and skin blogs to say the product worked. However once I started seeing the product in countless skin care tutorials from models like Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber, Skin by Hyram, and saw it won Allure Best of Beauty, I was throughly convinced maybe it might be worth the hype. With over 13K thousand 5-star reviews, it now has 13,001 because I absolutely love this product! This serum has completely changed the texture of my skin. It’s helped heal my blemishes, evened my skin tone, and honestly just makes my skin glow on a whole new level.
This serum is the perfect combo to my retinol. I discovered Ferulic Acid actually helps retinol work better. I love love love this product. I know a lot of people are probably scared of the $165 price tag, but a little goes a long way, it lasts, and on top of everything else… it actually works!! <3

So I struggle with acne. I wouldn't 'struggle' with it moreso than just have it if it were not for my adhd and ocd. I'm really really bad about skin picking. I pick at my face, my shoulders, my chest and it often leaves my face red, irritated and bloody. It also takes up hours of my time each week. It's not picking at one for 30 seconds here or there it's often 30+ minute skin picking episodes and it's very frustrating. It hurts. It leaves my skin bloody and irritated. It scars. And yet I can't stop. It's most frequently triggered by mirrors as seeing it makes me much more likely to pick due to ocd urges and its what causes the long episodes. However I'll pick at it idly too due to adhd.
I really want to stop. The picking leaves dirt and oil and blood that causes more acne thay causes more picking. It's a never ending cycle.
Does anyone have any advice? Star face, etc is not a viable option as it's large patches of small acne rather than a couple large ones.
No diet tips!!! I am not in a place to change my eating habits

The Best Treatments To Get Rid of Acne Scars
Tumblr media
Another acne treatment that may be helpful before any of the lasers or peels is called subcision, a procedure that involves releasing a scar that’s bound to the muscle or deeper tissues so that it can move freely again. Similar to laser resurfacing, dermabrasion uses a special tool that creates friction to remove your skin’s top layer.
