GAMER LOG 00XX - XX/XX/20XX 04:27 Development of J-0019 appears mostly normal. One subject of note, the still-sleeping body of this clone exhibits much less reactive behavior to stimuli during stage 2 and stage 3 incubation than compared to healthy clones. I'll keep an eye on J-0019 as usual, but uh, this one is likely another dud. On a different note: J-0016 is still exhibiting its odd behavior, but now it has become obsessive over others as well as itself. Unfortunately, this includes myself; it enjoys watching me work for hours without losing interest. This wouldn't be much of a problem, if it didn't also constantly try to, uh, get involved. I am recording this log now that J-0016 is asleep. At this point, J-0016 is no longer in the ruling as a viable JULIAN-model clone. Filing for euthanization of J-0016 is in order before this mutation gets out of hand. I'll- [yawn] I'll get it done first thing in the morning. End log.

now that that's all out of the way, welcome to my own little corner of an AU i discovered called the new horizons project! the central theme is that villagers are being cloned in order to provide every human with their ideal island life experience. the more a villager is cloned, the more likely it is to undergo various mutations. you can probably figure out the rest.

my sona's role in this is a clone maker who got dragged into the job after stumbling upon some things they shouldntve seen. it was either be killed or make clones and get house loan compensation for it. the choice has become less obvious over time.

my actual island has multiple popular villagers on it, namely julian, zucker, and a couple others i cant remember right now lol. the horrors write themselves.

I love your works, especially the serial killer ghoap ones. I’ve had this thought on my mind for a bit. It’s not really dark, more fluffy(?) I just started playing ACNH again and it got me thinking, would serial killer ghoap let reader have a switch? I mean, poor reader has seen so much shit and needs at least a little bit of normalcy in their life. Ofc ghoap would monitor them while they played and such, which leads me to my next part. Let’s say reader has gotten stockholm syndrome and isn’t super phased by all the gore in stuff. Reader just sits in a little corner that maybe has pillows or blankets OR a cage that has pillows and blankets and shit like that. But reader just stays in that corner playing their switch while ghoap does their murder stuff. Idk, I feel it’d be a cute image. Ghoap just torturing someone while reader sits in a corner playing animal crossing. Sorry for rambling, I just really wanted to share this thought. Drink water and make sure to eat ❤️❤️❤️

my reader inserts tend to be massive pushovers (mostly in an attempt to not give them so strong of a personality as to be distracting) but the serial killer girl is soft. i think the contrast of really rough ghoap with really soft reader is Primo.

but i also think ghost and soap would fucking eat UP having a soft little thing to take care of. i think this version of them would really get off on the corruption of it all, coming to their girl covered in blood and watching her try to keep her stuffies from getting stained red :( they loooove watching her get all teary and sniffly when they make her watch them torture people, love watching the way she tries to hide her pretty face :(

so of course they let her have a switch! they looove hearing her talk about all her little villagers, love when she tentatively shows them her new island setup <3

i’m putting everyone’s gameplay styles and island details under the cut

elsie: 3 star island, blue airport, native fruit is apples. wants only the most interesting villager designs. currently dating coco, but their emotional support villager is stinky, who they named their cat after. their island aesthetic is cozy and pink, a little disorganized but still cute (trying so hard to get a 4 star island)

searra: 3 star island, orange airport, native fruit is peaches. wants cute villagers, doesn’t really care about personalities so long as she vibes with the character. chabwick randomly moved onto the island and he wanted to get rid of him, but eventually she got attached. island aesthetic is nonexistent ksjdkffk he tries to make things look good but doesn’t put that much effort in so

jessica: 3 star island, blue airport, native fruit is oranges. tried getting only aquatic themed villagers but eventually gave up on the game altogether lmao, spent several months looking for aquatic villagers before burning herself out. curly is her worst nightmare but he won’t leave. her island aesthetic is “mermaids in atlantis”. that’s what she calls it. seashell DIY stuff, blue things, stuff like that

aidan: 4 star island, yellow airport, native fruit is pears. wants only the grittiest villagers, but this is animal crossing, so theyre hard to come by. only has bluebear because she was xyr friends favorite villager, and when that friend died aidan vowed to have bluebear in every animal crossing game xe ever plays. also tipper is because he adores cows. his island aesthetic is super halloween themed, and he uses custom designs to add gore

keith: 2 star island, green airport, native fruit is cherries. doggie island <3 jitters was one of his starters that he couldn’t part with. his island aesthetic is. um. whatever sparks joy. its so cluttered but at least he’s happy

selene: 5 star island, blue airport, native fruit is peaches. selene is a hardcore crosser. she needs the cutest villagers and they have to be diverse personalities. the only duplicates allowed are sisterly, normal, smug, and cranky, and even then there can only be two. she also cant have two of the same species. also no jocks. ever. her island aesthetic is greek mythology, lots of statues and aesthetic paths and stuff. she’s worked very hard on her island and her five stars are well earned. also i know greek mythology is canon to the element trials and not mythology cos it’s real but. shut up kajdjfkf

-Professor i feel played those ooold ass consoles (think early atari) but also has fallout 1 & 2 and also Myst

- Blossom would enjoy pathologic imo

- Buttercup speedruns

- The three like rythym games and monster catching games, tho i feel buttercup enjoys digimon more, blossom could 100% do competitive pokemon because she knows EV/IV and whatnot, and Bubbles would like yokai watch and have a team of cats

I don’t know if I 100% agree with all of these picks but here are some of my own off the top of my head:

I agree that the Prof would love really old games, just the most boring, seemingly simple games. Especially Pong and Asteroids, and he’d excitedly talk your ear off about early game development and how they were these marvels of programming, blah blah blah… which would be adorable and another reason to love the nerd. 🥰

Blossom would probably rather read a book for leisure than play a game, but I think she’d enjoy anything with a mystery in it, narrative-heavy point and click adventures/edutainment games, and possibly 5D Chess with Multiverse Time Travel (she’d also probably like Animal Crossing too and initially share ACNH with Bubbles, but after trying to micromanage the island so much and having mini disputes with her sister over who’s really the most qualified to be the Resident Representative, the Professor ends up just getting her her own Switch 🤣).

Buttercup loves DOOM and anything else with a “gratuitous gore” setting (although the Professor doesn’t actually buy stuff like that for the girls… she finds ways to play them though 😏). I could see the Prof making some extra fighting games for her in that virtual reality holodeck thing they have at the house so she could blow off some steam when she’s feeling really antsy for a battle, like if crime was kind of low one week or something.
