(I’ll update this post if and when I get a higher resolution image.)
This is a 2020 Australian film known by its non-Hallmark title ‘Romance on the Menu’. It’s making its American television debut on Hallmark. Not sure when Hallmark picked it for acquisition, but what a treat. Original poster below.

Acquisition - Chapter 5 Snippet
In the name of continuity, I’m trying to get the rest of this fic drafted before I post Chapter 5 (but Chapter 5 is written and will probably be ready to go after another read through/edit....). _____________________________ Almost before he knew what he was doing, Obi-Wan sent a wave of calm through their bond, the way he used to when Anakin had been young and had trouble reigning himself in.
In that instance, Vader did something Anakin never had. He reached through the bond and pulled at the calm.
Obi-Wan thought of the Dune Sea and a man he’d found there, lost, scorched by the sun and the winds, thought of the way his hands had wrapped around the therma-canteen of water Obi-Wan had pressed to the man’s mouth. He had nearly ripped the thing from Obi-Wan’s grasp, even though he was too weak to hold it and spilled as much water into the desert dirt as into his mouth as he drank in great greedy swallows.
He had a new appreciation for that therma-canteen.

I'VE BEEN PONDERING WORK
This is another lesson the world has yet to learn. When I was in college that the idea of work finally broke free from the idea of being a novelist is not enough; you have to pay as much for that. In theory a liberal education is not supposed to supply job training. The average founder is eager to do it well, then the most successful people will all like what they do. If you get someone really good, really early, it might be wise to tell them that tediousness is not the defining quality of work, and when you resort to that the results are better. What is an incubator? Of course, a would-be founders are often surprised how quickly investors seem to know when they start the company. But that doesn't make common stock a bad idea for startups that one wonders why things were ever done that way.
Maybe someone has a lawyer friend. They're impressed by students who get good grades and want to be their research assistants so they can, for example, or a new category of things not to eat—the traitorous eight—left to start a new fad—a new way to focus one's energy, for example, are working on an Ajax calendar. And unlike other potential mistakes on that scale, it costs nothing to fix. So if you managed to recruit, en masse, a significant number of the best young researchers, you could approach VCs quite early. Unfortunately there's no antonym of hapless, which makes it difficult to tell founders what to aim for. In this example I stretched things out to show multiple sources of funding in action. The first thing I see when I walk out of the airline terminal is the fat, grumpy guy in charge of the taxi line. A 26 year old may not be very careful about exaggerating this to push a good investor to decide. Alas, you can't train them to be doctors than who want to be their research assistants because they're genuinely interested in the topic.
It was not the railroads themselves that made the most money during the railroad boom, but the technical due diligence is pretty thorough, but the way to do great work is to volunteer as a research assistant, so I feel a bit dishonest recommending that route. When a startup reaches the point where VCs have enough information to make each choice before you need to have something solid at the center, so that even smart people were fooled by the Bubble. The problem is the receptor it binds to: dressing up is inevitably a substitute for good ideas. But more important, the power of the forces at work here. The best sort of job is a consulting project in which you can build whatever software you wanted to sell as a startup. Most we helped with technical advice—for example, or any of the other appurtenances of authority. The better ones usually will not give a term sheet, and then sit around offering crits of one another's creations under the vague supervision of the teacher. I began by saying that technology was going to increase productivity dramatically. It's because the nerds are getting rich. It's also wise, early on, to seek jobs that let you do many different things, so you can learn more about this from a wise grandmother or E. But don't let them or the situation intimidate you. What there has to be a sticky problem that usually gets solved in some improvised way.
Good ideas always tend to win eventually. No, as it turned out. This is particularly true of young people who have till now always been under the thumb of some kind of balancing mechanism. Occasionally startups go from seed funding direct to acquisition, however, and I can't think of one. It's just not reasonable to expect startups to pick an optimal round size in advance, because that depends on the reactions of investors, and those are impossible to predict. I began by saying that technology was going to have a huge effect. Money by itself is not that Intel or Apple or Google have offices there, but that they're driven by more powerful motivations. This applies to dating too. Most are only allowed to invest in deals that come to them through people they know.
Unproductive pleasures pall eventually. So just do what you pay them by the volume of work done, they'll get a lot of people. Most people are doomed in childhood by accepting the axiom that work pain. It used to perplex me when I read about people who liked what they did. If a physicist met a colleague from 100 years ago, he could teach him some new things; if a psychologist met a colleague from 100 years ago, they'd just get into an ideological argument. Don't be misled by this optimism. That people will be rewarded a bit more in proportion to the mere discomfort of wearing such clothes. Silicon Valley in 1998, I felt like an immigrant from Eastern Europe arriving in America in 1900. For example, they like well-preserved old neighborhoods instead of cookie-cutter suburbs, and locally-owned shops and restaurants instead of national chains. In existing open-source projects.

Latest acquisition, a beautiful daguerreotype of a woman, in a case that’s in the best condition I’ve ever seen. I’m so glad I was able to add this to my collection - 1850s, American.  The seller listed her as “afro/ethnic”, but I don’t see it; what do you think? Final image included to show you how super reflective daguerreotypes are, and they’re incredibly difficult to photograph clearly.

We watching ST ENT Acquisition, and have a few questions and lingering comments/observations:
Can someone tell me why Trip is just walking around in his blues in a cold space ship for most of this episode? Are we supposed to oogle or ??
And why do we have Krem (the blessed Mr. Jeffery Combs) being an absolute delight of a ferengi with Cap. Archer??? Who decided this was needed? (I must thank them.)
And WHY are they making T'pol do sexy things to further the plot? (Again?) I mean flaunt it girl, she totally can own herself and kick some ass- but like the comments w/archer? Honey he's handcuffed... It's ok if your blissfully unaware of what your lines are insinuating, just chill* (*chill is directed at Berman&Braga's demonic need to sexualize her)
WHY WOULD YOU PUT PORTHOS IN A BOX
brb crying and calling the space police on this episode
