⭒˚。🖁‧₊˚ 〖 down these mean streets . . . 〗 a collection of scene prompts inspired by n͟e͟o͟-n͟o͟i͟r͟, v͟i͟o͟l͟e͟n͟c͟e͟, c͟o͟n͟t͟r͟o͟l͟, e͟t͟c͟. some prompts usfw. add +reversed for the receiving muse to be "the sender" instead. adjust details as necessary.
dead end. there's nowhere left to run; the sender has cornered you at last. anonymous. disguising your voice, you call the sender to threaten/warn them. loose ends. you thought you killed them! but there's the sender, walking your way. ashtray. your cigarette smokes as you extinguish it on the sender's skin. deck. you lick the sender's blood from your knuckles, still stinging from the punch. backstab. end of the road, pal—you reveal you're double-crossing the sender. blunt. hidden in the shadows, you press your gun to the sender's back.
heel. you stare at the sender from across the room and beckon them to you. fix. not looking like that—disapproving, you fix the sender's appearance. tilt. you take the sender's chin in your hand and make them meet your gaze. staccato. irritated, the sender drums their fingers against you beneath the table. listen. the sender disobeys and you swat their curious hand away. fasten. just something i picked up—you clasp a necklace/tie/etc. on the sender. quiet. you press a finger to the sender's lips and tell them to be patient.
vomit. you can't handle this; you vomit as the sender groans about leaving evidence. wink. don't worry—you wink as you assure the sender you have no morals to offend. up front. the sender's job is a doozy; you demand half the payment now or you walk. hush. talk is cheap but you sure aren't. you accept the hush money from the sender. crossfire. you realize the sender asking you to put out a hit is your next target. gulp. hard to argue with a bullet; you agree to the sender's demands. jugular. you hold your breath as the sender uses you to demonstrate how the murder weapon was used to strangle the victim.
patron. you know the sender is hired to keep you spending but you linger anyway. last call. the sender has one final cigarette in their pack; you take it without asking. loose lips. the sender pours you another glass as you finally confess. bills. it's on me—you pay for the sender's meal. cozy. there aren't enough seats open; you pull the sender onto your lap with a grin. coffee. you look like hell—you press a cup of coffee to the sender's hands. waiting. you duck into the bus stop to escape the rain, intruding on the sender.
gutter. the trail of blood ends and you find the sender broken on the ground. speak up. you press the knife in deeper as the sender swears they didn't betray you. plaster. it's not pretty but it'll do; you wince as the sender patches your wounds. empty. you laugh at the sender as you throw your gun aside, finally out of bullets. rat. the sender falls to their knees and agrees to tell you everything they know. smother. you clasp a hand over the sender's mouth to keep from being heard. cut our losses. the sender won't make it; you leave them to die.
voyeur. you know the sender's watching; you open the blinds so they can watch. slip of the tongue. the sender whispers another's name against your skin. sign here. the sender traces a finger over [your choice], asking you to leave a mark. desk. your most enticing assignment yet: the sender bent over your desk. handcuffs. the sender dangles the key, teasing, but you hope they take their time. window. you press the sender against the glass, watching the city watching them. harsh light. what's worse? the hangover or that you can't recall the sender's name.

* [  PROMPT LIST ] :  nearly a kiss.
below, i’ve compiled a collection of [ 45 ] action and dialogue prompts for the kisses that nearly happened. inspired by every time those two characters in your favourite tv series inch closer and closer to each other only for there to be a usually annoying reason for the kiss to never happen.
[  DIALOGUE PROMPTS  ]
[  ONE  ] :  “ we didn’t break up. ”
[  TWO  ] :  “ i can’t do this. ”
[  THREE  ] : “ you... you have something on your face. ”
[  FOUR  ] :  “ you should go. ”
[  FIVE  ] :  “ you owe me nothing. ”
[  SIX  ] :  “ did you really think i’d kiss you ? ”
[  SEVEN  ] : “ what about [ name ] ? ”
[  EIGHT  ] :  “ are you sure about this ? ”
[  NINE  ] :  “ did you think it was going to be that easy ? ”
[  TEN  ] :  “ i should really be going. ”
[  ELEVEN  ] :  “ we can’t do this again. ”
[  TWELVE  ] :  “ you’re- you’re steaming up my glasses. ”
[  THIRTEEN  ] :  “ you have no idea how much i want to kiss you. ”
[  FOURTEEN  ] : “ i got back together with [ name ]. ”
[  FIFTEEN  ] :   we shouldn’t do this.... ”
[  SIXTEEN  ] :  “ this isn’t how i want this to happen. ”
[  SEVENTEEN  ] :  “ i want our first kiss to be perfect. ”
[  EIGHTEEN  ] :  “ i think this means something else to you then it does to me. ”
[  NINETEEN  ] :  “  i can’t do this to you. ”
[  TWENTY  ] :  “ i don’t want to jeopardise our friendship. ”
[  TWENTY-ONE  ] :  “ let’s just call this what it is... just really close talking. ”
[  TWENTY-TWO  ] :  “ this is a bad idea. ”
[  TWENTY-THREE  ] :  “ i didn’t ask for this... to feel this way. ”
[  TWENTY-FOUR  ] :  “ no. ”
[  TWENTY-FIVE  ] :  “ the lead-up is the best part anyway... right? ”
[  TWENTY-SIX ] :  “ i think you get the point. ”
[  TWENTY-SEVEN  ] :  “ this is just a game of pretend to you. ”
[  TWENTY-EIGHT  ] :  “ maybe next time... ”
[  ACTION PROMPTS  ] + reverse
[  GOODBYE  ] :  sender and receiver are parting ways, they might not see each other for a while. they embrace, a hug so tight it could shatter bones. their lips linger above each other’s, their eyes closed....
[  REUNITED  ] :  sender and receiver are reunited at after some time apart. jumping into the other’s arms in a warm embrace, the idea of a kiss is there but does it come to fruition ?
[  REJECTED  ] :  sender leans in to kiss receiver, but receiver pulls away.
[  INTERRUPTED  ] :  as sender and receiver lean in to kiss they are interrupted by a third party.
[  STUNG  ] :  as sender and receiver are about to kiss a bee stings receiver, the moment cut short.
[  FORT  ] :  sender and receiver are chilling in a pillow fort they spent a good part of the day building, in an intimate moment they both lean in for a kiss, only for the ill-built fort to collapse on them.
[  RAIN  ] :  as sender leans in to kiss receiver a sudden downpour catches them off guard and they choose to run for cover.
[  TAUNT  ] :  sender is taunting receiver, slowly moving in closer to their lips with no intention of kissing them, to see how far they’re willing to go.
[  DRUNK  ] :  sender is drunk and while under the influence looks into receiver’s eyes, beginning to lean in to kiss them... only for them to have the sudden urge to vomit.
[  DANCE  ] :  sender and receiver have been pulled into a slow dance together. as they sway to the music they find themselves leaning in for a kiss just as the song ends and the moment is cut short.
[  GUILT  ] :  receiver leans in to kiss sender, but sender pulls away because they feel guilt for doing this for the wrong reasons.
[  CHEEK  ] :  sender and receiver are leaning in to kiss each other, but at the last moment sender dodges their lips and kisses their cheek instead.
[  PHONE  ] : sender and receiver are about to kiss when a cell phone goes off and makes them pause. + extra points if the call is from an ex/rival love interest.
[  FACE  ] :  receiver won’t stop talking. in an attempt to get them to stop, sender grabs their face, underestimating the intensity of the act.
[  FOREHEAD  ] :  sender and receiver lean to kiss each other, misjudging the destination they bump foreheads instead of meeting lips.
[  CHIME  ] :  as sender and receiver are about to kiss, a clock chimes interrupting the almost kiss and reminding them of the time.
[  STRAND  ] :  receiver stands still as sender leans closer to their face, expecting a kiss but is surprised when receiver just tucks a strand of their hair behind their ear.
[ FALL  ] :  sender somehow ends up accidentally on top of receiver, their faces are close to each other but at the last minute sender pulls away.

“I dunno if I believe in stuff like ghosts, but the masks are fun!”
“So...everyone’s okay with eating the candy that exploded out of the weird Hive things?”
“I heard the Cryptarchs have a whole stash of old Golden Age and Pre-Golden Age movies about this time of year. Wanna go raid the Archives and find something good?”
“I’ve been prepping all year! I even got my Ghost a new shell as a costume.”
“You don’t really want me to wear that, right? ...Right?”
“If we’ve got literal aliens like Eliksni and Cabal walking beside us, stuff that seemed impossible before the Golden Age, then who’s to say stuff like werewolves and vampires don’t exist too?”
“Putting a Hive worm in a little costume would be cute. You can’t tell me I’m wrong.”
