Which One? Ji Soo - Part 1
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Ji Soo x You
Warnings: Mild cursing
Prologue, Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Epilogue | Words: 1,924
Tumblr media
“But here’s the real question,” Jane said as she leaned forward, her voice low enough so only you could hear. “If you had to choose one of them, which one would it be?”
A look of extreme distress immediately overtook your features, and your gaze flew over to the register.
Ji Soo was still standing there taking orders with that dazzling smile.
And then Joo Hyuk walked by, his casual stride like that of a model walking down the runway.
Oh, god.
You turned back to Jane and shrugged, your expression still clearly saying ‘how am I supposed to pick?!’
Jane simply let out a soft, amused chuckle, leaning back in her chair and sipping on her decaf Americano.
“Well, then, who would you choose?” you retorted as you quirked your brow.
Jane pursed her lips slightly and set her mug down on the small table in-between your two chairs. And then she looked over at you with the most impish expression. “I will have to abstain from this question.”
You quirked your brow even more at her mysterious answer. “...What do you mean?”
“I mean, I shouldn’t pick one because I have an almost, kind of boyfriend,” she replied.
A horrified gasp almost immediately escaped your lips. But you were horrified because why didn’t you know about this already?!
“What?!” you exclaimed. You were more than glad you hadn’t just taken a sip of your latte because you surely would’ve either choked or spit it out all over her.
Jane then proceeded to tell you about a guy she’d randomly run into at the grocery store about a month ago. She’d kept it to herself because she hadn’t wanted to get her (or your) hopes up, but... after going on an official date this past weekend, she was pretty sure it was going to work out.
You, of course, wanted to know all about this guy. What was his name? How old was he? What did he do for a living? Hair color? Height? Did he wear glasses? What was his zodiac sign?
Jane knew you well enough by now not to get annoyed with all your questioning; she’d actually come prepared and had a quick answer for every single one of them.
“So,” Jane began after you emptied your reservoir of curiosity. “Now you see why I want you to pick one of these coffee guys.”
“What do you mean?” you asked, setting down your empty mug.
“How fun would it be if we both had boyfriends at the same time?” she whined, reaching over to take your hand and squeezing it desperately. “We have to!”
“Oh yeah, it’s so easy for me to just get a boyfriend,” you retorted sarcastically. “My years of being single definitely attest to that.”
“That’s why we’re coming back here from now on,” Jane nodded.
“...Come again?”
“There are two of them! And they’re both extremely attractive!”
You almost rolled your eyes, but you stopped yourself. You simply gave Jane a very skeptical look instead. “Yeah, which means they most likely already have girlfriends. Or boyfriends! We have no way of knowing!”
You knew that wasn’t true, but it was at this moment. And that’s all that mattered.
Jane opened her mouth to reply, but she quickly closed it. Her eyes flitted off to the side. Her eyebrows raised.
“What are you --”
“Hey, can I get you anything else?” a familiar (and very hot) voice asked from behind you. “A refill, maybe?”
You glanced over your shoulder to see Ji Soo standing there with an expectant look on his face.
On his handsome, perfectly proportioned, radiantly beaming face.
Wow.
“I’m good on drinks, but this one here needs a boyfriend,” Jane said, gesturing to you.
Your eyes immediately widened as a hot flush overtook your cheeks.
JANE!
WHY!
You waited for Ji Soo to make a really awkward response because how could Jane’s comment not make him feel awkward? But instead... you heard him laugh.
A for real laugh. Not a nervous ‘I don’t know what to say’ laugh.
“If you were trying to embarrass your friend, it seems like you did a good job,” he said. “Although, I can’t really talk. I say embarrassing shit -- stuff -- all the time. Joo Hyuk constantly rolls his eyes at me.”
“I’m guessing he would roll your eyes at the fact you just said ‘shit’ in front of customers,” Jane added.
“Oh, absolutely.”
“Y/N here is just easy to embarrass, though,” your best friend said with a smirk.
And you felt your cheeks get even hotter.
Lovely.
“Is that so?” Ji Soo asked as he moved to sit on the arm of your chair. You could hear the amused note in his voice, and you truly would rather take your empty mug and smash it over your head than turn around and look at him right now.
Just feeling his presence by your side was enough to make your stomach fill with gigantic butterflies.
Jane nodded in response to his question, throwing you a sympathetic glance. “She’s probably going to kill me for bringing up the fact she needs a boyfriend.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” Ji Soo murmured. “At least you had the chance to visit our lovely establishment before you get murdered.”
“Oh, my gosh,” you piped up with a slight whine. “I don’t need a boyfriend, and I’m not going to murder anyone!”
You felt him nudge you gently with his elbow, and those gigantic butterflies practically screeched in panic.
You know you’ve been single for too long when a cute guy literally just touching you with his elbow can cause that sort of reaction. It was honestly pathetic.
“Seriously, let me know if you need anything,” he remarked as he stood from your chair. “I’m always down for a round of good, old-fashioned teasing.”
Jane shot him a knowing grin as he began to walk away, but he only made it a few steps before he turned back around to look at the two of you.
Although, now that you could actually see him, you noticed he was mainly looking at you.
“I’ll work on that boyfriend thing and get back to you.”
And before you could look away in embarrassment -- yes, apparently, it was possible to be even more embarrassed than you already were!!! -- Jisoo did it.
He actually did it.
He.
Winked.
At.
You.
Tumblr media
What?!
Who was he?!
How could he just wink at you and not make it weird or creepy?!
Your eyes were still on him as he turned and approached another set of customers, and you felt Jane tapping your arm wildly.
“Did you see that?!” she muttered through clenched teeth, obviously attempting to keep her exclamations to just the two of you. “He winked at you! You need to flirt with him!”
That, of course, made you tear your gaze away from him.
“I most certainly do not,” you laughed in disbelief.
“Yes! Y/N -- he just winked at you! That is a clear invitation to flirt! And he said he would work on that boyfriend thing and get back to you! He meant him!” Jane stared at you, agape. Her unspoken words were ‘How do you not get that?!’
Because you were you! That’s how! You were pretty much Forever Single, only ever going on five dates in your whole life. The longest you’d ever seen someone was three months.
Jane knew this! Why did she expect you to suddenly be knowledgable about the whole dating and flirting thing?!
She kept pestering you about it until you finally promised her the two of you could come back here every Wednesday for a while, and yes, you would talk to Ji Soo.
In a more than friendly manner.
You would try your very best to flirt with him.
Tumblr media
By the time your conversation with Jane came to a natural stopping point, the shop was nearly empty.
Your watch read 8:59pm, though you hadn’t noticed an operating hours sign when you’d come in earlier. It had been raining much too hard, and you’d been focused on getting inside.
“What time do they close?” you murmured as you stood from your chair. You grabbed your rain jacket and draped it over your arm, but one glance outside a nearby window alerted you to the fact it was still raining much too hard outside.
“Uh... 9, I think,” Jane replied, craning her neck to try and see the sign from here.
“Oh, yikes,” you chuckled. “We better get going. We don’t want to be those customers.”
The two of you headed over to the door, and as you were slipping your arms into your jacket, you heard Ji Soo’s voice call out to you.
“Thanks for stopping in! Come back soon!”
Jane lifted a hand, and before you could stop her, she replied: “Oh, we will! Don’t you worry.”
It took everything in you not to groan as you, yet again, felt your cheeks warming.
“What?” she muttered to you. “We will be back!”
You simply huffed as you pulled your hood over your head and pushed the door open.
Both you and Jane made your way back to your cars as quickly as possible, and when it became clear the two of you were heading off in different directions of the parking lot, Jane cried out, “Let me know when you get home!”
“Okay!” you assured her, holding up one thumb just in case she couldn’t hear you over the downpour.
There were only two other cars in the parking lot besides yours and Jane’s, and they were currently pulling out of their spots and leaving. To be honest, you were a bit embarrassed to be the absolute last customer to leave, though you weren’t exactly sure why.
When you arrived at your car, you unlocked it and got inside in record time, letting out a deep sigh of relief once you were out of the rain.
You managed to get your rain jacket off, and after you flung it in the backseat, you buckled your seatbelt and stuck your key into the ignition.
When you turned it, however... the engine sputtered and creaked and your dashboard lights flashed and then...
Nothing.
...Oh, no.
You tried again just in case, hoping it was just a one-time thing.
But, again, the engine sputtered and creaked and your dashboard lights flashed and then...
Nothing.
You tried two more times because you wanted to be absolutely sure your car was not starting.
After the fourth attempt, you became a bit panicked. So you took a deep breath and turned to look in the direction of Jane’s car. She was just pulling away, so you quickly grabbed your phone and navigated to her name in your contacts.
“Hey, what’s up?” she asked, and you could see her car stopped at the parking lot exit.
“My car won’t start, will you come back and give me a ride home?” There was no way you were going to try jumping the battery in this weather, and frankly, you were too tired right now. You just wanted to go home.
Jane took in a breath, obviously about to reply... but then she stopped herself.
“...Jane?” you asked in a somewhat pitiful voice.
“No.”
“No?”
“There is no reason for me to help you when there is a perfectly capable, perfectly handsome, perfectly flirty coffee shop owner right inside. Go in and ask him.”
And then she hung up.
And then she drove away.
...What?!

Insatiable| Yandere Vampire Jungkook x Reader
Tumblr media
Word Count: 2.7K
Fanfic Type: Fic; Angst and Thriller-ish
Description: You never would’ve thought that the boy you rarely talked to would harbor such a sinister secret, and that you’d be the one to suffer from it.
[Warnings: Death, blood, literally anything about vampires, some spooky themes, yandere themes, manipulation]
It's the night before Halloween, and instead of watching horror movies or baking pumpkin bread like you normally would've, you're stuck here, waving around a flashlight in an old clearing before a very large, very abandoned, and very, very haunted mansion.
You didn't want to be here, but when Taehyung flashed his boxy smile and made his eyes into that damned kicked puppy expression, no one could refuse without feeling like a monster. You, despite your many, many years of friendship with him, certainly couldn’t.
The building was old, dilapidated, and looked like it was going to fall apart into pieces if a strong enough wind gusted against it. The bricks’ color was faded, a washed-out shade of brown, and mold crusted its crevices, peeking out of the dark and clinging onto any bits of space in the open air that it could. It creaked, groaned, and protested under its own weight.  And you were sure that if the supposed ghost didn’t kill you, something for sure would with the atmosphere of this place.
It was also an awfully cold night, the kind of cold where it sunk deep into your bones and left you miserably paralyzed. You wanted to go home, wanted to sink into your warm covers and feast on the slice of pie you had baked earlier that day. You would’ve done anything but this.
You heard a soft crunch of leaves underfoot, but when you turned the flashlight around to peer at the cracked gravestones lining the courtyard, there was nothing. You shook your head, burrowing your face deeper into your warm scarf. It must’ve been your imagination.
"You look a little dazed," a girl from one of your classes--what was her name again? Jiwoo? Ah, Jisoo--said, coming up from behind you.
"Just feeling a little tired from Professor Kim's boring lecture," you feigned a yawn for exaggeration. Jisoo nodded in agreement before her eyes became glazed, foggy.
"Hey, Y/n," she said next after a brief pause punctuated the air between the two of you, and her next words, ones that you could never ever forget until the day you died, chilled you to the very bone.
"Who do you think will die first?"
You sputtered out, unable to answer properly because what the absolute FUCK was that kind of question. You knew this wasn’t a good idea, and Jiwoo, Jisoo, whatever the fuck her name was was clearly out of her mind. Going into a haunted house with her was, you were completely sure, not going to end well.
"Hey! We're about to head in; don't fall behind!" Taehyung frantically waved from in front of the doorway, three other classmates by his side who you were fairly sure were named Seokjin, Jungkook, and Jennie.
They all turned to stare at you, with three of them including Taehyung smiling brightly down at you, but the new guy, Jungkook, didn’t smile in a friendly manner like they did, choosing instead to stare at you almost unnerved you more than Jisoo's words did. His eyes were intense, almost hypnotizing, and the stare lingered even when everyone's gaze shifted away. You shivered, though this time you were certain that it wasn’t from the cold.
"Coming!" Jisoo waved back before looking back at your frozen self, smiling in a way that could've been interpreted as friendly but, when you peered just a little closer, menacing, like she knew something you didn't.
You tried to calm down your rapid heartbeat as she left, heading up to join the rest of your group.
Taehyung noticed the distress you were in and leaned over, flinging an arm around your shaking--you didn't even know you had been shaking--shoulders and leaning close to you with an inquisitive look in your eyes.
"What's up? Are you scared?" Taehyung asked, his voice soft and full of worry.
"Yeah I'm fucking scared," you hissed out between clenched teeth," Why did we have to come here? Let's just go back, Tae. Forget this ever happened."
Taehyung's eyes flashed with an uncertain emotion before he said," Don't you know? We can never go back."
For a second, Taehyung didn't look like Taehyung, not the one you knew. It was like he was enchanted, spun under some delusional fantasy that he couldn't escape from. But you brushed that thought off. He was still Taehyung. Your Taehyung. Your best friend Taehyung who hogged too much of the blanket and tried to warm up his icy blocks of toes on you.
"What the fuck; that isn't even funny, you dickwad!" you grimaced, sharply shoving your elbow into his side, your lips twisted in a grimace-like frown.
‘’I was just kidding. Lighten up!’’ he laughed, though you noticed with building panic that the emotion didn't reach his eyes. "You can wait outside for us then! We'll be in and out before you know it!"
Your mind spun as you tried to think of an answer. You could stay out here, where at least your phone had a bit of service, or you could go in and possibly die at the hands of some ax-wielding maniac straight from a thriller.
"Fine, I'll stay out here. You better be out in 20 minutes or I'm calling the cops," you said, huffing.
Taehyung smiled at you, reaching to ruffle your head, and for a second, he looked just like your Taehyung," Thanks, Y/n/n."
You walked away, standing by the entrance of the courtyard as you watched them open the door before getting swallowed up by the darkness inside. A sharp chill ran up your skin, leaving goosebumps in its wake.
The door clicked shut. The chill never left.
You bundled tighter in your coat, teeth slightly chattering as you waited, each second feeling a minute and each minute feeling an hour. You heard the sound of creaking wood and flashed your flashlight in the direction. There was nothing that greeted you except for the scampering of a small rat across the boards. You felt your fear rise with every second and you itched to just go in, haul them out, and leave. One more minute, you thought to yourself, one more minute and I'm going in.
A scream shattered the night air, and you noticed that it sounded an awful lot like Seokjin with the way it flawlessly rang out. After all, there was a reason why he was the lead actor in the musical at your University. You just didn’t think that you were going to experience his full vocal capabilities in this kind of situation.
You dropped your flashlight in panic and scrambled to pick it up, taking out your phone and trying to dial in the emergency number.
The call didn't go through and with a look at your bars, you realized that the service had cut out.
What were you going to do? Try to run back and get someone to help but it might be too late or run inside and find out what was happening?
Your mind flashed with each thought as your panic built up in your throat, choking you. You saw images of Taehyung, small child Taehyung handing you a bandaid when you first met, Taehyung setting off the fire alarm because hell he couldn't cook, Taehyung when you had a nightmare and he had run to your side even though he lived an hour away and it was 3 in the morning. Hell, you had to go in. Not just for your own sanity, but for the boy you watched grow up, the boy who never left your side. You couldn’t leave his side now.
You got up, running towards the building, your shoes slapping against the cobblestones, and rushing inside the building.
Without you even needing to, the door swayed behind you and shut, sealing you inside.
"Taehyung?" You looked around, wandering in the direction that you were sure the scream came from. You felt a cool breath wisp against the back of your neck and fingertips slowly sliding up your side in a sensual sweep. You whirled around. There was no one behind you.
You pressed on, calling out Taehyung's name until you saw a brief glow of a flashlight. You exhaled in relief as you hurried towards the light.
You got closer and closer, your fingers shaking.
Taehyung, Jennie, and a shaking Seokjin greeted you, three out of the original five. You let out a breath you hadn't known you were holding at the sight of Taehyung, intact.
"Didn't mean to scare you!" Taehyung grinned, like you hadn't been sent to the ends of hell," Jisoo and Jungkook went missing and we went to find them but Seokjin got scared because there was a big spider in the doorway."
You sighed, smacking your forehead in a sign of complete exasperation and relief before your frustration set in, hot and melded with the intense fear you were suffocating in.
"God fucking dammit, Kim Taehyung. I thought something had happened!" you weren’t even fully aware of this but tears had built up in your eyes, threatening to drip down your cheeks," I thought something bad happened and I lost your dumb ass."
"Hey, hey," Taehyung panicked at the sight of your tears, reaching over to wipe them away," Don't cry! You won't lose me without a fight."
You sniffled before crossing your arms resolutely. "I better not, you asshole. Now let's find Jisoo and Jungkook and leave this shithole."
Taehyung's eyes shifted slightly at your words, a brief flash of intense emotions, fear and panic, glowing in them before his eyes cleared, and he was back to your easy-going, loving Taehyung.
"Let's check the hallways! Maybe Jisoo wanted to check out the rooms and wandered off!" Jennie said, pointing away.
Your group started to walk in that direction, getting closer and closer when a movement in the corner of your eye caught you off guard.
"What's that?" you whispered loudly," Did you see that?"
Everyone else looked at you, curiosity and confusion written all over their faces and you shook your head. "Nevermind, probably imagined it or something," you said, clearing your voice," It's probably my nerves."
You reached out for the doorknob of the nearest room and watched, in stupefied fear as it creakingly swung open. Jennie let out a bloodcurdling shriek as the door slammed against the molding wall, making a loud dull thud as it hit, before bolting.
"Jennie!" Seokjin's teeth practically chattered together in fear as he bolted after the girl," Stop!"
You called out Seokjin's name, turning around to call for Taehyung to follow you because everyone knew that you didn't want to get separated in a horror movie. And everyone also knew that getting yourself stuck in an old creepy clearly haunted house was also not the smartest idea. But clearly, your group wasn't the smartest and you were fucking stupid for going along with them.
And when you turned around, just like what would happen in a horror movie, Taehyung wasn't there.
"Taehyung?" Your voice was a soft gust at first, meek and trembling as the first wave of pure animalistic fear finally hit," Taehyung! TAEHYUNG!"
The only reply that greeted you was stone-cold silence. You didn't hear Seokjin calling after Jennie anymore or Jennie running frantically to the doorman. The only sound you could hear was the rushing of your blood through your veins and the rapid way your heart thudded against your ribcage. You sucked in a deep breath and pushed it out before scrambling after the direction Seokjin and Jennie went in. You were going to find them both, and then you were going to find Taehyung. You just had to.
You weren't expecting to find them like this though. You stumbled into the main hall and noticed two dark figures hidden in the shadowy dimness of the mansion, swinging your flashlight to whom you hoped were Seokjin and Jennie.
Jisoo greeted you, her eyes flashing crimson and she grinned, the kind where all her teeth showed, and you noticed how sharp and white and bloody they were. Her skin, which was already usually pale, glowed translucent under your flashlight's yellowy artificial light.
You noticed the second figure next, the one that had been tenderly scooped in Jisoo's arms. Jennie, still and pale, looked terrified, her mouth stretched open as if she had been prepared to scream when Jisoo attacked her. You noticed the two neat puncture marks, oozing a trail of vermillion, in the crook of Jennie's neck and felt like you were going to hurl.
Jisoo bared her teeth at you, dropping Jennie's body onto the ground, and your stomach turned and churned when you heard the dull thud.
Jisoo took a step forward, licking the blood trail dribbling from her mouth, and she met your eyes, the predatory glint that had been washed over them shining brilliantly.
"You know," Jisoo practically sneered, and she looked, illuminated by your flashlight, like an avenging angel, both beautiful but oh so terrible and merciless," If you weren't his beloved, you would be replacing her next. But he wouldn't mind if I had just a little taste, right?"
Your chest constricted as Jisoo took another step closer, looking like she was ready to launch herself at you, and you couldn't move, couldn't breathe as her body tensed and...
"Jisoo.”
Her neck snapped to look behind you, and your head slowly craned to look behind you, feeling almost robotic with the level of fear and panic that you were drowning in.
Jungkook stood behind you by the window, his beautiful features glowing underneath the waxy glow of the moon. Even when you had to squint to properly see him, he already mesmerized you. He had a sharp jaw, soft pink lips, and slightly round intense dark eyes. His features were inhumanely perfect, and even the steeper slope of his nose added to his allure. You were transfixed, your mind occupied with thoughts about Jungkook.  His eyes wouldn't stop looking at you, their eyes burrowing deep into your soul as he waved dismissively. You heard a soft rustle of fabric behind you and when you dared to look back, Jisoo was gone. His voice was breathless as he shifted slightly, a blur of black, and then he was in front of you so uncomfortably close.
"You know," he cupped your cheek, his touch cold, lacking the warmth of life," I knew from the very moment that I saw you that you were my destiny."
You didn't move a hair despite how much you wanted to. You heard of the way vampires could enchant someone and force them to comply with their demands. You just never thought that vampires were real and that, if they were, you'd be a witness to them.
"I saw you in passing and the way I felt, that is the only way I could ever feel with my mate. I wanted to steal you away, take you away, but that's quite suspicious in the human world apparently. But it wouldn't be that suspicious if you went into a bad place and ended up gone, now would it?" Jungkook pressed you further against him, burying his nose into the crook of your neck," Taehyung was difficult to control, but humans are malleable, no matter how strong they think they are."
Your throat freed and you managed to finally speak, although you still couldn't move.
"Why did you have to kill Seokjin and Jennie and," you sobbed," What happened to Taehyung?!"
You couldn't see his smile, how innocent and bright it was like a little boy opening up a big present and finding out that it was exactly what he had wanted all along, but you could feel it pressing into your warm flesh, almost mocking.
"We got hungry," you felt his teeth prod at your flesh as he pressed even further against you," And with the way you're so close to me, I'm getting a little hungry too."
"You don't mind if I take a bite?" his voice was raspy, animalistic almost.
You didn't reply. You couldn't reply. Even as tears dribbled down your cheeks and splattered onto him, salty, you couldn't say a word.
Jungkook played with the hem of your jacket, gentle like a lover would, and then his teeth sunk in, sharp like needles.
Really, even if you could answer, with the way he desperately curled into your warmth, Jungkook would never take your refusal for an answer.
After all, Jungkook, the boy who barely spoke to you before except to ask for a pencil and the boy now who refused to let you go, was absolutely insatiable.
[HAPPY HALLOWEEN BABES! I wanted to release something for this spooktastic holiday so my writing is messy :( Be safe and take care of yourself on this spooky day! Part 2 of my reactions will be posted soon, but I wanted to focus on writing this today! Love you <3]

All the kdramas that I’ve watched (2020 - part 1)
Disclaimer: I already made another two list that you can find here. This a part one, I decide to split so the post wouldn’t be so long. hope u guys like!
Revenge note 1:
It’s a high school one
It’s about this girl that will have to deal with a first breakup-, bullying, insecurities, first true love, friendship and also some revenge, why not right? lol
SOFT kdrama although the name suggest more dramatic things
a lot of farts jokes (like for real)
To the beautiful you:
If you like that movie “she’s the man” then you going to like it
Goo-Jae-hee decides to live in a dormitory as a boy and live with the one who gave her strength in the past and now she is determined to support him like he (unconsciously) did in the past
TOO MANY clichés that if it wasn’t so over do it probably wouldn't work so well, kinda of the charm of this dramas is bc it's too innocent and old
some things bothered me while watching, like: the main character just liked her bc he knew that she was a girl?it was that? I had this impression and I didn’t see much of his personality besides the obvious guy who don't care about nothing but will care forf her (of course)...
The best friend was funny and actually way more supportive than the other one; him didn't know that “he” was a girl and had to deal with this for a long time and for me this is huge and important even tho they joke about the whole time
Tempted:
Joy from RedVelvet is the main reason for me go to watch this one
Basically it’s a fanfic lol (but I mean all the kdramas are in some point :p)
It's about these three best friends; Choi Soo jin, Kwon Shi-hyun and Lee Soo-jo that comes from different but all them chaotic family's and as a form to build a wall from the pain and everything they become used to play with people who were in their way, for them it’s fun doing little revenges ... Nothing matter to them, except them. It’s in one of these “games’ that Eun Tae-hee(Joy) becomes the target. She is a victim to be seduced, to be tempted by Shin-yun. But thing about games and people are that they don’t stay the same, and everything could happen, everything can change, even the feelings, even the people, even the solid bonds.
Lee Soo Jo it’s a sweet one, I feel bad for him sometimes
Tae-hee is a mood, she is mature and have this force idk she wouldn’t let her head down and I love strong characters that just don’t buy some bullshits and literally go talk to make everything clear.
8/10
Itaewon Class:
It’s based on one webtoon what is pretty cool
The stories it’s about Saeyori, a guy that is convicted in his principles, his dad taught him to live his life as he wanted and to be a good person besides everything. When Sayeori dad’s pass away he swears to God a that it won't be for nothing and those who wrong him would it pay when the times come. So he carries for  more than ten years a life plan to get back at the ones that wanted him to get on his knees.
Jo si yeo well: I was sometimes disappointed with her (and you will see why) but besides that she a character that I personally like, she is not just a girl, she has personality, and she stands for that; they said to us that she has a tendency to sociopath and a lot of her comer from that, I really really like her, she is what she is and not a boring girl that will always do the right thing that is BORINGGGG please more roles like that like people that can be good but have personal traces that are unique.
Has so many good choices of topics to be discussed and are relevant to not only young people but society in general; talks about  trans gender, racism, bullying, like how you can change your life if you really put effort on it and that everybody has a choice to make it your own destiny
Cheese in the trap:
It’s about this girl, Hoong-Seol, she is the only one that suspect about the “generous, sympathy and handsome” guy of the university, he is the senior that everybody likes and despite all the weird things that surround him nobody seems to know him really well. But Hong Seol feels that something is strange and bc of that their ways started to inter-wise more and more and the doubts become a sign of...love?
Honestly even though it explained why he is that way I was kinda of “shocked” sometimes, and when she was accepting things (like really scary things (that in my personal opinion are NOT health but ok) bc of love I was like girrrl?? Get out of there now)
THE SECOND GUY CURSE I don’t even have to say that for most of the times the seconds guys are the best ones (the ones at least that shows more charisma or personality ...) but you know that they won't be together, in this case I thought that was insane...
Baek In-ha honestly? I love her uahuahuaauh best scenes best phrases she is indeed an icon.
8/10 :)
I Started Following Romance:
Super sweet and well-made it as a short drama
Only 10 episodes and it’s only 7/8 minutes each one
Modern and lovely way to represent how the youth deal with break-ups and social medias by these days with all the technologies and stuff
It’s about a girl that broke up but still see how her ex-boyfriend is doing by following him in social medias, that makes her really anxious and sad so move on it’s more than necessary. Social Medias could it be a way to not only meet people but reconnected them with themselves too
You should watch it like right now
10/10
Is it you, my girlfriend?:
it’s about a girl who accidentally declares herself girlfriend of one of the most famous guys on her school, he is totally the opposite of her, and even tho he is known by the entire school she doesn’t acknowledge him until he approaches her asking if is she the one...the one who is his girlfriend
it's a high school so has all that we love, its sweet and funny and there’s a season 2 which is good as well
8/10
link to watch on youtube
A-TEEN - Rumors Spread About ME:
it passes in high school so the story goes around between this two girls who are friends with each other and has the same name, but are opposites in personality. Even though that wasn’t a problem for them the rumors that start to spread in the school makes the friendship collapse and a name maybe is not the only thing that they share
it was pretty nice, I really like some actors in there, the story’s cool, they talk about bullying, friendship, first love and they have season 2 that is pretty cool too!
9/10
link to watch on youtube
LIKE:
the story starts with main girl selecting people for her new project, a project that she is doing to prove to herself that be at the art school was the right choice, but more than discovering herself she may be aware that not only her senior, who was her crush since the beginning is watching her but another two guys, that are closer than she would it expected
talks about friendship, about felling demotivated sometimes, first love, sexual harassment with minor in schools...
The girl from heart signal 2 is there :) (which I thought it was really cool bc I'm too into heart signal these days)
8.9/10
link to watch on youtube
Romance talking:
This one was one of my favs bc I kinda like more when they’re in college;
it's a story about a girl who was super into a guy whom host an internet talk show where he mostly talks about romantic topics. Besides that unilateral interest she lives a normal life, almost boring by her point of view. She works at a bar and in one of common day her ex-boyfriend appears there, and she listens to him badmouthing her, even though she doesn’t care about him anymore it hurts, so she gets back on him, which could be a bad idea later when she was alone if wasn’t for someone... someone that she doesn’t believe its out of her computer screen...
the girl is so real, like sometimes we really feel angry, bored, deeply in love or jealous/envy I think that the actress did a great job here
10/10
link to watch on youtube
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo:
I saw that Jisoo was here and later I discover that the main actress is the iconic one who did Baek-In-ha in Cheese in the trap (Jisoo doesn’t have a big role tho..)  but my other fav Kang Ki-young otherwise has a role as Bok-joon’s uncle heheh
Kim Bok Joo is an weightlifting girl, who is proud of her sport and department in college but sometimes she feels insecure when comes to sensitive topics as love or how guys sees her. As a way to hide those insecurities Bok-Joon doesn’t let anyone says nothing to her and deal with provokes, becoming known in campus bc of her temper. But when a certain guy shows kindness towards her all she wants is become girlie and delicate. What she doesn’t know is that this guys is the old brother of an old childhood friend that she meet again on campus and likes to “mess” with her making her going crazy...
its funny, sweet, the main actress is awesome, the main couple is lovely and you should watch it now
Sorry if wrote anything wrong. All the dramas here are awesome, hope you guys find some new ones to watch it!
Use the mask and don't forget to clean yourself properly, we are still in a pandemic but this will pass!
All love<3

Broken Mug (m.)
part one of a toxic! jennie x jisoo fanfic [requested by @komaedaiism]
Trigger warning: This fic portrays a toxic relationship, including verbal and physical abuse, and multiple cheating incidents. Please do not read if this kind of material is a trigger to you.
-
The door slammed. Jisoo’s fists curled tighter around her mug. The tv could feel her deathly glare across the room and almost as if alive, meekly the signal began dying out, the actors voices become scratchy and the image turning blurry. Jisoo could hear Jennie’s heels, each insufferable step as she walked into the living room.
“How’s Rosé doing?”
Jennie dropped her jacket on the couch and sighed, her arms crossing.
“Lovely. She got a bikini wax yesterday. It looked gorgeous underneath the lights of her bedroom.”
In an instant, the silence broke. Jisoo’s mug shattered on the floor, and whether or not it was on purpose, its broken shards landed next to Jennie’s feet. Why was it so easy for them to fight like this? With Jisoo’s voice raising louder and louder and her hand striking across Jennie’s cheek. Jennie standing there, angry tears in her eyes as she defended herself against the onslaught of pouring hatred from Jisoo’s lips. Still. They looked so pretty. Like little clouds, dyed pink with strawberries and paint. Jennie wanted to kiss them so badly. Jisoo wanted to push her into bed and ride her until she forgot every bit of the way Rosé tasted.
Maybe that’s why they stayed together. Despite every fight, every bruise Jisoo left on Jennie, and every night Jennie spent outside, they were greedy, and couldn’t bear to let each other go. Did it matter? No of course not. They just lived like this, hating eachother, yet never leaving eachother.
Jisoo was small and pretty. She had this beautiful smile, and she stood there, wrapped up in a cardigan and a dress. And still. Her beautiful smile only mocked Jennie, screaming at her in disbelief.
“God, you’re so useless and disgusting. You’re weak, you can’t survive one night on your own can you? You need someone to touch to hold cause you’re empty inside, and that’s all you’ll ever be! The only meaning you’ve ever had to your pathetic disgusting life is me!”
Jennie hated the way Jisoo screamed. She hated the way the words landed on her skin and left little singe marks, and no matter how many girls she could sleep with in one night, not a single one could wipe them off. Jennie’s red lipstick was Chanel, her shirt was Fendi and her heart was breaking every night. But she just ran away, forgetting her heels weren’t made for running, and the path always led right back here. Back to Jisoo. Back to the broken mug by her feet.
A bruise was beginning to form on Jennie’s cheek. It was dark purple, and almost pretty, stark against her pale skin. She wondered how long it would last, and how much Dior foundation she would need to cover it up. She was itching to buy a new bottle. No. Twelve.
Jisoo was almost done with her tirade. Jennie could tell by the way she was swaying on her feet. And the raspy sound in her voice. She figured it would be longer, but given the state of the living room, she must’ve been here all night, and tired from it.
“I don’t even know why i bother. You’re just going to run back to her the next time work gets hard again, or I decide not to put out for the night. You amaze me. I’ve never met someone who can stick their head so far up their own ass and not smudge their makeup.” Jisoo spat, her chest heaving as the last bits of her adrenaline died away. Jennie stared at her. Jisoo stared back. Were those tears in her eyes? No, of course not. Jisoo doesn’t cry. Jisoo knows not to cry. She knows to save it up, and use it when she really wants to. When the situation deserves it. Jennie doesn’t deserve her.
-
“I’m sorry.” Jisoo whispered, her head tucked against Jennie’s neck. She wasn’t. Not really.
“Me too.” Jennie answered. Neither was she.

Which One? Epilogue
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Either Ji Soo x You or Joo Hyuk x You
Warnings: None
Prologue, Ji Soo Part 1, Joo Hyuk Part 1, Epilogue | Words: 1,109
Tumblr media
“Yes, I’m on my way now,” you chuckled as you rolled to a stop at a red light. “Literally less than five minutes away.”
“Okay, just checking,” your boyfriend responded with just a hint of a defensive tone.
It had been exactly one year since he and his best friend had opened up their coffee shop, The Mug, so they had planned a full-on celebration. Day8 was playing, as they had become a somewhat regular guest, and Joo Hyuk and Ji Soo had decided to hire caterers, set up a fun photo booth, and they were even going to have raffles to win free merchandise.
(Side note: Things had become a lot less awkward between you and Brian, though your current boyfriend did get just a bit more affectionate whenever you were there on a night the band was playing.)
You had just wrapped up a graduation photoshoot, but the big to-do had only officially begun half an hour ago.
“How’s it going?” you asked.
“Pretty well, so far,” he told you. “Everyone’s loving the music and the food, and I don’t think we’ve lost one of the photo booth props yet.”
“I can’t wait to see everything,” you beamed, not even trying to hide how proud you were.
The stoplight turned green then, and you focused your eyes back on the road instead of your car’s Bluetooth screen. Even though you weren’t even able to see his face, you’d still been looking at his contact name as if you had been.
“All right, my love, I’ll be there soon,” you said.
“Drive safe,” he requested, one he made each and every time you got behind the wheel. “See you in a few.”
“Yep, see you,” you grinned. And before you could press the button to hang up, he murmured one final thing.
“I love you.”
Even though the two of you had exchanged these three words countless times by now... hearing them still made your heart clench and flutter at the same time.
“I love you, too,” you replied with a very cheesy grin.
You heard the soft click of his hang-up, taking a deep breath to calm your heart before continuing your drive to the coffee shop.
As you drove the short rest of the way there, you couldn’t help but marvel over the fact it had been a whole year since they’d opened that place.
And that meant it had been almost a year that you had been dating your wonderful, amazing, handsome as hell boyfriend.
Truly, you couldn’t believe it.
Almost a year?
On one hand, it seemed like the two of you had just gone on your first date last week. On the other hand, it seemed like you’d known each other forever.
When you really thought about it, though, a lot had happened during that year.
Obviously, the two of you had fallen in love. That was the main difference between now and a year ago.
But The Mug also now had almost ten part-time employees, two full-time managers, a very popular Instagram, and a beautiful, modern website designed by yours truly. For free, of course.
You had done numerous photoshoots for them, and you honestly couldn’t even begin to fathom how many green tea lattes you’d had.
Your boyfriend had also accompanied you to many more Tigers’ games, even purchasing a season pass himself for the seat right next to yours. He couldn’t always go because of work, but he went as often as he could.
And you two had been on the Kiss Cam three times. Each time, you were mortified but secretly delighted. But also still mortified.
Your eyes widened and your lips formed into an ‘O’ of surprise when you pulled into the shop’s parking lot, seeing for yourself just how busy it was. The love of your life had mentioned it was going “pretty well,” but he hadn’t mentioned the sheer volume of people attending. You ended up having to park down the street and walking a few minutes to even get to the door.
When you stepped inside, the cheerful, rhythmic sounds of a Day8 song filled your ears and the warm aroma of coffee filled your nose. A quick glance at the front counter informed you that only part-timers were working to take and fill orders.
The owners were most likely mingling with customers or taking empty cups.
Your eyes then quickly scanned the rest of the shop, looking for that familiar head of dark hair. Sometimes during the past year, it had taken you a few moments to figure out just who was who -- the two of them actually looked eerily similar from the back.
Ji Soo had recently shaved his head, though, so it was now far easier to tell them apart. Thankfully. You had actually poked the wrong one in the side on occasion, though you had become pretty close with your boyfriend’s best friend. He had simply laughed it off and guided you in the direction of the one you’d meant to poke.
When the tall frame of your boyfriend finally caught your eye, your heart fluttered yet again, and you made your way quietly over to him. When you got close enough, you lifted your arms up, preparing to cover his eyes and whisper a greeting into his ear.
But then you glimpsed the other owner. Your boyfriend’s best friend. One of your close friends.
All of a sudden, the very first day you’d met the two of them flashed through your mind.
Jane had been dead set on setting you up with one of them, and she’d asked you which one you would choose if you had to.
You actually hadn’t been able to because both of them were so tall and handsome.
Turns out, you hadn’t even had to choose at all. Fate had chosen for you.
...But you couldn’t help but wonder.
What if?
What if fate had chosen the other one?
What would your life be like now?
You quickly shook your head to get out of your little pondering trance and focused back on your mission at hand. You lifted your arms and stood on your toes, bringing your hands around to cover your boyfriend’s eyes.
You felt him jump a little before he came up to grasp your wrists lightly.
Before you could even say anything into his ear, he turned around, still holding onto your hands and grinning the widest, brightest grin.
Honestly, who cares what your life would be like if things had turned out differently? Your life right now was simply perfect, and you had no desire to change anything. Ever.

Which One? Ji Soo - Part 2
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Ji Soo x You
Warnings: Mild cursing
Prologue, Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Epilogue  | Words: 1,989
Tumblr media
So, your friend had just abandoned you.
In the pouring rain.
At nine o’clock at night.
In the parking lot of a coffee shop.
She would argue that she had left you for a very good reason, and maybe she was right. She was only trying to help you (or, rather, force you) to get to know the supremely attractive owners of said coffee shop, but...
She didn’t have to leave you here with a car which wouldn’t start!
Just because you were utterly annoyed (and also kind of panicking), you called her again. You would beg and yell, if you had to, to get her to turn around.
But it went straight to voicemail.
How lovely.
You closed your eyes and tilted your head back, letting it thud against your headrest as you let out a shaky breath through your mouth.
Objectively, you knew this situation really wasn’t that bad.
It’s not like you were stuck in the middle of nowhere with a non-starting car. You were just in the parking lot of a coffee shop, and even though it had officially closed five minutes ago, you knew the owners were still inside.
But still.
You had been thoroughly embarrassed in front of Ji Soo earlier, and now you had to go in and face him again? By yourself? And ask for help?
Even if you asked Joo Hyuk, it would still be embarrassing!
You didn’t like this. You didn’t like this at all, but you really had no other option.
Unless you wanted to call a tow truck and spend way too much money just for a ride home.
You could also just call a taxi, but you would still feel weird leaving your car here overnight... and you would still have to spend too much money just for a ride home.
So, begrudgingly, you reached back for your jacket. You put it back on. And you got back out of your car.
Your heart started to pound inside your chest as you trekked back across the parking lot and up to the front entrance of the shop, but you didn’t hesitate to reach out and knock timidly once you got there. The rain had yet to let up, so you wanted to get back inside as soon as humanly possible.
Even though they had already turned the outside lights off, you could still see inside the shop very clearly. So you saw when Ji Soo paused as he wiped down a nearby table, his head lifting to meet your gaze.
His brow furrowed immediately when he saw you, and he quickly strode up to the door. He unlocked and opened it, stepping aside to let you in.
“You’re not here to rob and murder us, are you?” he asked as he closed the door behind you.
You tried to laugh at his joke. You really tried. But all that came out of your mouth was a very strangled, very awkward almost-chuckle.
This was not off to a great start.
“Uh... no, I -- I’m actually -- car troubles,” you explained. “My car won’t start, and my friend already left, and nobody else is out in the parking lot.”
“Oh, shit,” Ji Soo murmured, but then he quickly shook his head. “I mean, shoot -- no, fuck it, it’s fine. Oh, shit.”
Well, you couldn’t very well keep yourself from laughing at that now, could you?
“I would just ask for a battery jump,” you said with a breathy giggle. “But --”
“It’s fucking pouring out there,” Ji Soo interrupted.
“Okay, it just wasn’t necessary that time,” Joo Hyuk called out from behind the register.
Ji Soo just rolled his eyes, otherwise completely ignoring his friend’s scolding. “Do you want me to give you a ride home?” he asked you, furrowing his brow adorably.
“I am so sorry,” you lamented, feeling your throat closing up just a little because you felt like such a burden and why did Jane have to abandon you like this?! “I know it’s asking a lot, and I don’t want to cause any trouble --”
“No, no, it’s no trouble at all,” Ji Soo assured you. “Give me just a second, okay?”
You nodded, waiting until he’d turned and left before taking a deep breath. Everything about this situation was giving you anxiety; you needed to calm down as much as you could before getting into a car with one of the most attractive men you’d ever had the pleasure of meeting. Or even laying eyes on.
You overheard his somewhat muffled conversation with Joo Hyuk, your brow furrowing slightly as he assured his business partner he would be back soon to finish closing up.
Ji Soo had just told you it was no trouble at all, but you were forcing him to abandon his friend just as yours had abandoned you. You’d worked retail before, and closing up shop was never fun. But doing it on your own? Even worse.
The fact that you lived hardly ten minutes away was moderately comforting, but you still felt absolutely guilty for throwing a wrench into their nightly routine.
“All right, let’s get you home,” Ji Soo said with a charming smile as he joined you again near the door.
“Are you sure?” you asked, just to be certain.
“Yeah, come on,” he answered with a nod, holding out an arm to usher you back outside.
As soon as he opened the door, the sound of the driving rain filled your ears again and, once more, you pulled your hood up over your head.
Ji Soo hurried you around the back of the shop, gesturing toward a non-assuming sedan parked out of sight. The lights flashed as you neared it, and he reached out from behind you to open the passenger-side door for you.
He had joined you in the car, taking his place behind the wheel, not even ten seconds later, and it wasn’t even a minute after that he was leaving the parking lot.
You murmured the first direction, feeling the anxiety begin to settle in your stomach. You’d been nervous enough earlier when he’d sat on the edge of your chair with several other people around.
Now you were alone with him in a car.
Jane would certainly be thrilled, but you were becoming increasingly apprehensive by the second. In fact, you were so distracted by thinking about how anxious you were that Ji Soo’s sudden voice almost made you jump.
“It’s Y/N, right?” he asked, and one glance over at him awarded you with the sight of his slightly and adorably wrinkled forehead.
“Yes,” you nodded.
“I’m Ji Soo,” he told you. “I don’t think I’ve told you yet, but I was wearing a name tag, but you probably would’ve felt awkward saying my name when I haven’t actually introduced myself.”
Well. He had somehow gotten into your head, hadn’t he?
Or he just remembered how embarrassed you got earlier and made a logical assumption.
Either way, he was correct.
“Ji Soo,” you said with a soft chuckle. “Nice to meet you. Not the best of circumstances, but --”
“Well, technically, we met earlier when you ordered your green tea latte.”
Ooh.
Interesting.
He remembered your order?
“Yes, this is true,” you agreed with a nod. “It was delicious, by the way.”
“I can’t take credit for that,” he laughed. “Joo Hyuk was making everything tonight. But if you come back tomorrow, I can make you one. Guaranteed to be even more delicious.”
“I have to come back tomorrow,” you pointed out with an awkward smile. “My car is still in the parking lot.”
“Oh, that’s right!” Ji Soo exclaimed as he turned onto the street at your direction. “So, listen, I have a friend who’s a mechanic. I can call him and come pick you up whenever you have time. Do you need your car tomorrow morning to get to work?”
You shook your head at first, adding a soft “No” when you realized his eyes were on the road. “I work from home most of the time.”
“Yeah? That’s pretty sweet. What do you do?”
“I’m a freelance photographer and website designer,” you explained. “I don’t have any shoots tomorrow, though, so no worries.”
“Photographer and website designer?” Ji Soo asked, sounding highly impressed. “So your Instagram is popping, then.”
A laugh immediately burst through your lips, and you could feel your cheeks burning at his statement. “Well. I like to think so, but...”
You pointed toward the next street, continuing to give him directions as he continued to make small talk. He asked where you’d gone to school, what your favorite photography subjects were, what kind of websites you designed, and just after he asked how long you’d known your friend, you directed him into your driveway.
“We met in college, so it’s been a while now,” you answered. “Her name is Jane, by the way.”
“Jane the Troublemaker,” he smirked as he put his car in Park.
“Yes, absolutely,” you chuckled.
Ji Soo then turned to face you as best as he could with his seatbelt still on, holding out his hand toward you. “Do you have your phone on you?”
“...Yes,” you told him a bit hesitantly.
“I’m gonna give you my number so you can call whenever you’re ready. The shop opens at 7, but the morning rush doesn’t die down until around 8:30, so whenever you want me to come and pick you up after that.”
You reached into your bag, sliding out your phone and unlocking it before placing it in his palm.
Unsurprisingly, your heart was racing as he punched in his number, and you were insanely curious to see what he had put as his contact name.
“There you go,” he murmured as he pressed ‘Save.’
“I can probably just ask Jane to drive me over there,” you said, already feeling guilty for making him leave work to pick you up.
“No, it’s totally fine,” he assured you. “I feel responsible since it happened at my shop, so I want to make sure everything gets taken care of.”
You couldn’t stop a soft, tiny smile from tugging at your lips as you received your phone back from him. “Well, thank you. I really appreciate it. And I’m really sorry --”
“No apologies,” he interrupted with a very attractive smirk.
You pressed your lips together and zipped them.
Ji Soo’s smirk grew into a smile, and your heart raced even more.
“Call me whenever you’re ready,” he repeated as you reached to open the car door.
You simply nodded, grabbing your bag and exiting his car as quickly as you could without getting too much rain on the seat.
As soon as you were safely inside the shelter of your own home, you let out a very relieved breath.
And then you dug your phone back out and pulled up your conversation with Jane.
Tumblr media
You were torn between annoyance and amusement at her reaction. She was obviously feeling smug because things had worked out according to her plan (you assumed), but you were still a bit upset that your best friend had just left you! You decided to play it on the dramatic side, though, because... well. She was your best friend. You could be dramatic with her, and she wouldn’t care.
Tumblr media
A soft gasp escaped your lips.
...She would do your laundry? For a year?
Tumblr media
...Well, that didn’t sound ominous at all.
You were about to lock your phone and head into your bathroom to get ready for bed, but you suddenly remembered Ji Soo had put his number in there.
You clicked on your contacts, slowly scrolling to the J’s to find his name.
And when you did, a smile instantly appeared on your lips, and you found you had to actively stop yourself from squealing and giggling but also rolling your eyes in amusement.
Ji Soo 🙌 Hot Coffee Guy ☕
Tumblr media
Even though you worked at home and didn’t really have a set schedule, you still liked to wake up fairly early every morning. You felt so much more like a human being when you had a morning routine.
Since you were going to the coffee shop later, you skipped your normal mug of Earl Grey tea and only ate your bowl of cereal. As you were brushing your teeth and getting dressed, you acknowledged that you still felt like more of a human... but also less so because you had no caffeine in your system.
So, as soon as 8:30 hit (the time when Ji Soo said the morning rush died down), you navigated to his name in your phone... took a deep breath... and called him.
“Yep, hello,” he answered after just one ring.
“Um, hey,” you began, hearing how awkward you sounded. “It’s Y/N --”
“Oh, hey! You ready?”
“Yes -- if it’s a good time! If you’re too busy, that’s fine, I’m ready whenever.”
“It’s a perfect time, actually,” he told you. “I’ll be right there.”
“Okay, sounds good!”
Ji Soo murmured a quick ‘See you soon,’ but before he hung up, you heard him start to call out to Joo Hyuk that he would be right back.
“Yes, right back, I swear -- oh, shit. Sorry, bye!” he laughed before actually hanging up the phone this time.
You chuckled softly to yourself when you heard the soft ‘beep’ of the call ending, and then you moved to grab your bag and get ready to wait for him.
As you waited, you couldn’t stop yourself from thinking over what could happen in the next hour or two.
Most likely, Ji Soo’s mechanic friend would get your car started, you would pay him and thank Ji Soo for his help, and then you would drive back home.
But... what if...
No. You didn’t even want to get just one tiny little hope up.
No matter what Jane said, the odds were against Ji Soo ever becoming your boyfriend.
You weren’t sure why, but... still. You just didn’t want to get your hopes up.
When he pulled into your driveway barely even ten minutes after you’d hung up with him, you took a deep breath and headed down the walkway.
“Good morning,” he greeted you once you sat down in the passenger seat, shooting you a friendly grin.
“Morning,” you replied a bit shyly.
“How are you?” he asked. He waited until you’d buckled your seatbelt before putting the car into Reverse and backing out carefully.
“Well, I haven’t been able to leave the house for almost 12 hours, so I feel practically like a hermit,” you joked. In reality, there were times when you didn’t leave the house for over a full day.
“The sun wasn’t too bright for your eyes? Do you need me to catch you up on all the news you missed since last night?” Ji Soo replied, obviously playing along but sounding very serious.
“With the state of things these days, I think I’d rather not know,” you sighed.
“Good idea.”
You felt marginally more comfortable around Ji Soo, so as he drove, you forced yourself to ask most of the questions he’d asked you last night. You didn’t ask what he did for a living because, well, you already knew that. But you did find out he and Joo Hyuk had gone to school here, had both moved away after graduation, but had decided to come back to open up their coffee shop.
“What made you want to come back here?” you asked, mentally high-fiving yourself because you knew they hadn’t been living here this whole time. Two guys as attractive as they were would have definitely captured your attention before now!
Ji Soo took in an inquisitive breath before replying. “I don’t really know. We just both wanted to come back here, I guess. When we looked for places to rent where we used to live, nothing really worked out. So we just... I don’t know. We came back. And it worked out.”
“I’ll say,” you chuckled.
“What do you mean?” Ji Soo asked, curiously amused.
“The Mug is pretty much all anyone can talk about these days,” you told him.
“Really?!”
“Yes!” Now, the question was... did you tell him why? “I mean, why do you think you guys are so busy? You’re a brand new coffee shop in a city filled with Starbucks.”
“Is our coffee really that good?!”
...Okay, well, now you had to tell him.
“I mean, maybe,” you said. “But... to be honest... most people are just talking about how good-looking the owners are.”
Ji Soo didn’t reply for a few moments... but when he did, his tone was even smugger than Jane’s text messages last night.
“Is that why you came last night?”
Wow, you had walked right into that, hadn’t you?
“No!” you cried instinctively. “I mean, yes, kind of, but I’m not --”
“You’ll come back for the drinks, though, right?”
“Yes.”
“...And because I’m so good-looking.”
“Yes -- no, wait -- I mean, not that you’re not good-looking --”
As you awkwardly stammered out your explanation, Ji Soo navigated to his recent call list on the touch-screen in his car. He pressed on your number, and your phone lit up as he called you.
“Ha!” he laughed. “You didn’t change my name.”
“No, I just -- I didn’t have time, and I thought it was funny, and --”
“Wow, you really are easy to embarrass. Your friend was right.”
You let out a distressed whine as you leaned over to press your head against the car window. “Yes, I am, and I wish you had just taken her word for it instead of testing it out yourself.”
“There is no need to be embarrassed about thinking I’m hot,” he assured you.
“I don’t -- !!” But you had to cut yourself off because you most definitely did think he was hot. “I’m not --” But you had to cut yourself off again because you most definitely were embarrassed.
Thankfully -- blessedly -- Ji Soo had just pulled back into the parking lot of the coffee shop, so you just let out a sigh as Ji Soo laughed good-naturedly.
“I promise I won’t tease you anymore today,” he told you as he parked his car and turned off the engine. “We’ll go inside, I’ll call Jordan, I’ll make you a green tea latte, and there will be no more teasing.”
You only glanced over at him, afraid your cheeks would just straight up burn off your face if you looked at him fully, and you tipped your chin into a small nod.
Ji Soo opened the car door, but before he got out, he paused.
He turned back to you.
“And you can look at me and my handsomeness as much as you want.”
Before you could retort that he’d just said he wouldn’t tease you anymore, he let out a devilish laugh and hurried out of the car and into the shop.

Which One? Ji Soo - Part 5
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Ji Soo x You
Warnings: None
Prologue, Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Epilogue  | Words: 2,892
Tumblr media
Despite the fact you were now more nervous than ever to go to The Mug and see Ji Soo, you actually couldn’t wait to show him all the pictures from yesterday.
You’d spent basically all of yesterday evening looking through each one of them and researching new presets and filters you could use to create a cohesive theme.
Everyone is a nerd for something; you just happened to be a nerd for Instagram themes.
Well, technically, you were a nerd for design in general. But Instagram theming had become your niche au courant. And, in this day and age, you had plenty of opportunities to let your nerd flag fly.
Since you’d told him yesterday you could come over at any time, Ji Soo had sent you a message just after noon asking if you could come around 8 later that night. Apparently, the shop was pretty busy, and he wasn’t sure he would have a chance to leave Joo Hyuk by himself until around closing time.
Of course, you’d assured him that was fine, and he had promised to make you at least two green tea lattes to help keep you awake.
The caffeine would surely help you then... but what about now? What about all the hours you had before 8pm?
It was currently half-past one...
You had six and a half hours to think about everything which could go wrong. All of the embarrassing things you could say. All of the different ways he could tease you.
Great.
So what could you do to distract yourself?
Well, the first thing which came to your mind was... work on your own Instagram. You had just had an engagement photoshoot the other day, and you were about halfway done editing the pictures. Might as well work on one to share with your followers and give the couple a sneak peek.
You chose a picture of the couple on a swingset, each sitting in a swing and holding hands in-between them. It was actually adorable, and even though you didn’t know the couple personally, they had seemed pretty playful and goofy during the two hours you’d spent with them. Taking pictures on a swingset seemed to just work for them.
After selecting the picture, you first opened it up in your computer editing software. You played around with the details since you had more control, sharpening some things and blurring others. You smoothed out the background and added some very subtle light flares.
Once you were satisfied with how everything looked, you transferred it to your phone and imported it into your favorite photography app. You added the preset you had designed for this specific shoot, adjusting the contrast and exposure as needed to get the coloring just right.
All in all, the whole process took you about half an hour, and once you had uploaded the picture and typed out a caption... There were still six hours left until you met up with Ji Soo at the coffee shop.
Seriously?!
You couldn’t just post twelve more pictures on Instagram. That’s overload!
I guess you could finish editing all of the pictures from the shoot and get them ready to give to the couple... you didn’t necessarily want to work on a weekend, but what else could you do?!
The only thing was, you preferred to get out of the house to edit pictures. If you stayed home to edit every single picture you took, you would pretty much never see the outside world.
And one of your favorite places to go to get work done?
A coffee house.
Usually, you went to Starbucks because, as we established earlier, you were basic like that. You liked Starbucks!
But now...?
Should you be that girl and go to The Mug instead? Even though you were going there later to work with Ji Soo?
Let’s be real, though. The question you should be asking was this: Would you be able to get any work done with Ji Soo around? You were already skeptical that the two of you were going to get a good start on The Mug’s Instagram page tonight. Did you really think you could sit in that shop and focus on work when you knew Ji Soo was just a few yards away, taking orders and making drinks?
You knew the answer was ‘no,’ but you decided to get a second opinion.
“Hey, what’s up?” Jane answered after you’d pressed on her name in your contacts and waited for a ring or two.
“Hey...” you replied a bit hesitantly. “I have... a question.”
“I’m all ears.”
“So...” You took a deep breath, deciding to say everything quickly so she wouldn’t interrupt with shouts of glee. “Ji Soo kind of hired me to help with the shop’s Instagram page. I say ‘kind of’ because they’re paying me in free drinks, which is totally fine. I’m happy to do it. You know I love Instagram. And I’m going over there later tonight to show him how to edit the pictures and stuff, but I don’t know what to do until then. I was thinking I would edit the pictures I took the other day, the engagement photoshoot? Would it be too much if I went over there to work? To the coffee shop?”
Jane didn’t answer at first. You could very clearly picture her facial expression right now. It most definitely looked something like this:
Tumblr media
And then, almost a full thirty seconds after you’d finished asking your question, she said, “Could you repeat that?”
“Jane!” you chuckled. “Should I go over there to work or would that be too much?”
“Girl! Yes! You! Should! Go! Over! There!”
You bit your lip to keep from smiling like a schoolgirl with a crush, and Jane continued before you had the chance to say anything.
“Are you serious?! Are you going for it?”
“I don’t know!” you admitted, not doing anything to hide your confusion and hesitation. “I don’t know.”
“Wait, has anything happened?! I feel like there’s something you’re not telling me,” Jane scolded.
Well... she wasn’t wrong. You hadn’t told her about yesterday because you knew she would make a big deal out of it, but...
So you proceeded to tell her about the pictures you’d taken... and the pictures Ji Soo had taken. You didn’t leave off the part where he’d asked to have copies of those pictures, either.
“WOW,” Jane remarked once you’d finished. “First of all, he totally likes you.”
“Really? Do you really think so? He’s not just super friendly and outgoing and charming?” you asked, biting the inside of your cheek anxiously.
“I do think he’s all of those things, but... I mean, come on! He took pictures of you and asked to keep them! He sent a heart eyes emoji when you sent them to him! He, at the very least, thinks you’re gorgeous -- which you are.”
You buried your face in your free hand, unable to say anything back to that. But Jane knew you well enough, and she kept talking.
“Second of all, I think you’re definitely interested, too. Right?”
An anxious sigh fluttered past your lips as you thought about your answer.
Were you interested?
...Wow, okay, was that really a question?
“Yes, of course, I’m interested,” you told her with just a slight whine. “You’ve seen him!”
“But what about his personality?” Jane countered. “Does the inside match the outside?”
“I’ve known him for a few days,” you reminded her.
“What are your first impressions, at least?”
“Well... he teases me like you do.”
“A good start,” Jane said, obviously smirking.
“And there was the whole car thing,” you added. “He took care of everything like it was no big deal.”
“Definitely a plus. I hear it about it for days whenever you have to take your car in for an oil change. Is he nice?”
“I think so.”
“Is he funny?”
“I’ve laughed a fair amount of times at thing he’s said. When I’m not blushing.”
“Y/N, that’s totally enough reason to be interested,” Jane assured you. “You don’t know him that well, yet, but... that’s kind of what dating is all about. Getting to know someone!”
“Dating, Jane?” you snorted. “Don’t you remember I just said we only met on Wednesday? You were there when we met!”
“And don’t you remember I said you’re not going to be single for much longer? Mark my words?”
“Yes, it was actually quite terrifying.”
“Well, mark my words again, my friend. He’s going to ask you out soon. When a guy reacts to pictures of you with a heart eyes emoji...? Yeah, there’s definitely a date on the horizon.”
You weren’t exactly sure about that because you knew Jane was just desperate for you to get a boyfriend so the two of you could go on double dates... but you would humor her, anyway.
“Whatever you say, Jane.”
Tumblr media
Ultimately, you decided to wait until after dinner to head over to The Mug, opting to do your laundry and clean up your kitchen while you waited. You figured you might as well do something productive with all of your nervous energy.
You made yourself a sandwich for dinner around 5:30 (making sure to wipe away every stray crumb from your newly cleaned kitchen, of course), and it was just before 6 when you pulled into the parking lot of The Mug with your laptop in tow.
Okay. Here we go.
You slid your laptop off of your passenger seat, clutching it to your chest and making your way up to the front door. Before you even stepped inside, you saw the long line of customers waiting to order.
Good lord, the draw to this place was just incredible.
But then you looked at the two God-like beings behind the front counter and were reminded just why the draw to this place was incredible.
They would probably have to hire more people to help them soon; you couldn’t imagine how hard they must be working right now. How exhausted they must be.
When it was finally your turn to order, you stepped up to the register with a shy, semi-awkward smile.
“Hey,” you greeted Ji Soo.
“Oh, hey,” he grinned, chuckling slightly in surprise. “What are you doing here?”
“I have some photos to edit for a shoot I did earlier this week, and I figured I needed to get out of the house, so...” you answered with a shrug.
Ji Soo’s grin widened just a little bit (though it was enough to make your heart flutter even more than it already was), and he straightened his posture confidently. “What are you feeling tonight? Another green tea latte or something else?”
“I’m definitely having that latte later, but I think right now... do you have chamomile tea?” Your nerves were kind of in overdrive right now, so you could do with some calming herbal tea.
“Yeah, absolutely,” he nodded. “Go ahead and find a seat, I’ll bring it out to you.”
If Ji Soo wasn’t one of only two people working here, you would think he was giving you special treatment by serving it to you personally...
Although, you were getting it for free.
Because you were the shop’s official Instagram consultant, and they couldn’t pay you in actual money, but that’s neither here nor there.
You headed back into the shop, managing to find a small table by a window (and an outlet in case you needed to charge your laptop). Within minutes, you had set up shop and had already begun editing away.
“One chamomile tea,” Ji Soo murmured when he brought your cup. “Let me know if you need a refill or anything.”
You nodded, shooting him a quick smile before turning your attention back to your screen.
“I’ll come over when I can so you can show me how to be an Instagram genius like you,” he added, and when you glanced at him again, he threw you a sly wink before heading back up to the register.
Him and that wink! Why was he so good at it?! Why did it make your stomach flip and your heart flutter?!
You waited until he was out of earshot before letting out a deep exhale.
Honestly, why had you even questioned whether or not you could get work done here? Ji Soo just had this powerful effect on you. One wink could send you reeling, for heaven’s sake!
But, still. You had pictures to edit, so you would do your best to buckle down and get as many done as you could.
Tumblr media
So, remember how it took you about half an hour to edit that one picture earlier?
You’d arrived here just after 6, and Ji Soo had said the two of you could start working at 8. That gave you two hours.
Theoretically, you should have been able to edit four pictures.
But... how many did you actually get done?
One.
You were currently working on your second, but you had only successfully and completely edited one.
One!
In two hours!
You blamed Ji Soo, of course. He had stopped by your table at least ten times, asking if you wanted a refill or watching you edit over your shoulder or even just making some small talk.
He had thoroughly distracted you, and if that had been his goal for the evening... he’d certainly accomplished it.
When he sat down across from you yet again, letting out a deep, exhausted sigh, you checked the time on your laptop. It was 8:02. Time to start working. ...On your other work, that is.
“Has it been crazy busy today?” you asked, saving the changes you’d made on your picture and closing the lid of your computer so you could see him better.
“Yeah, pretty crazy,” Ji Soo answered as he folded his arms over the table. “You’ve been working pretty hard over here, too.”
...Had you?
Not particularly, but... he didn’t need to know that.
Because he was the reason you hadn’t been working hard.
“Whoever said the weekend was the time to rest didn’t own a coffee shop,” you chuckled.
“Also wasn’t a photographer, I guess,” Ji Soo added.
“So,” you said with a little sigh. “Ready to learn?”
Ji Soo sat up straighter in his seat, the corners of his lips pulling into a very adorable grin. “Yes, I am ready. Teach me everything you know.”
Since you were going to working on your phones, you scooted your chair over to sit next to him, trying to ignore how amazing he smelled. Even after working all day, he smelled heavenly.
You instructed him to pull up one of the pictures you’d sent him last night along with the ones he’d taken of you, a picture of one of the drinks. You’d deemed it your practice picture because it would be pretty simple to edit.
“So, I think with the whole atmosphere of this place, your feed should have more a warm feel to it,” you explained. “Bright but warm. I found a really good preset and made some adjustments to it. You should be able to just use it on any picture, and that should help a lot with creating that theme.”
Ji Soo listened intently, following all of your directions as you walked him through downloading the app he needed as well as the preset you’d created. You showed him how to import the picture, add the preset, and make any tweaks in case the picture didn’t look quite right.
“How did you learn how to do this?” Ji Soo asked after he’d saved the changes on his picture.
Your lower lip jutted out thoughtfully, and you shrugged. “I don’t know. I just kind of... did it. I’ve always loved photography, so I took a lot of classes in school. I also took a lot of web design classes, so I just meshed those two skill sets together, and here we are.”
“Well, I am pretty sure The Mug is going to have the best Instagram of any coffee shop around,” he grinned. “Just as long as you’re always on hand to make sure I did everything right.”
“Yes, of course,” you chuckled. “I’m just a text or phone call away.”
It had taken the two of you over an hour to get that first picture edited, so the shop was now well and truly closed. You stood from your chair, grabbing your laptop and hoisting your bag over your shoulder.
“Here, let me walk you out,” Ji Soo offered, gently resting a hand in-between your shoulders.
You accepted, of course; you were kind of traumatized about going to your car in the dark only to find it wouldn’t start. It would cut out at least five minutes if Ji Soo was already there.
Thankfully, you’d been able to park a bit closer this time, and... Ji Soo was surprisingly quiet the whole walk there.
You’d barely known the guy for four days, but even you knew something was up.
As soon as you approached your car, however, you heard him take a deep breath.
“Hey, so...” he began, his brow furrowed as he somewhat avoided your gaze. “I was wondering... are you -- “
Oh, my.
Was he...?
“Are you busy tomorrow night? I was hoping we could... go out.”

Which One? Ji Soo - Part 8, Final Chapter
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Ji Soo x You
Warnings: None
Prologue, Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Epilogue  | Words: 2,838
Tumblr media
For once, you arrived at The Mug before Jane. You figured it was because she was coming with her boyfriend, and she had probably triple-checked his outfit to make sure he looked as presentable as possible.
It didn’t really matter, though, because the line was a little bit longer than usual.
By this point, you were starting to worry about Ji Soo’s health.
Joo Hyuk’s too, of course. But... Well. Ji Soo was... not your boyfriend, really? But kind of? Maybe not officially but unofficially?
Either way, you couldn’t help but worry about Ji Soo more. And you were worried about his health because the shop only seemed to be getting busier. They still had yet to hire a part-time employee to help, so you decided as you joined the line to order that tonight you would do your very best to convince him.
You would even resort to wearing him down with kisses if you had to.
If you had to.
Ha!
As if it would be such a chore to kiss him.
The sound of a guitar tuning distracted you from your thoughts of Ji Soo’s lips, and you turned around to locate the source of the noise.
A makeshift stage had been set up at the back of the shop, and the band - Day8 - were presumably setting up and preparing for their set in about half an hour.
Your eyes scanned the one, two, three, four, five guys, each one focused on their respective instruments and --
Wait.
...Hold on a second.
...Was -- was that --?
You hastily turned back around to face the register, and to be honest, you didn’t even try to hide the panic on your face.
Was it too late to call Jane and cancel?
You glanced at the register, seeing Ji Soo was taking orders tonight. And he was also looking right back at you.
So, yes. It was too late to cancel. Ji Soo had now officially seen you, and if you left with no explanation, he would most likely worry. Or at least wonder and ask you later where’d you gone.
And why.
Oh, boy.
You really didn’t want to tell him why, but you knew you needed to.
So you spent the next five minutes waiting anxiously in line, tapping your fingers against your thigh, biting your lip, and forcing yourself not to turn around. It was already likely he would recognize you from the back, you did not need to make it easier by letting him see your face.
When you finally approached the counter, Ji Soo’s brow furrowed.
Of course, he had noticed your less-than-comfortable expression and body language.
“What’s wrong?” he asked in a low, quiet voice.
You let out a deep breath, forcing yourself to smile as you answered. As if that would help make things okay.
“So, uh, this guy I kind of sort of used to date for like three months but it was a couple years ago, seriously it was only three months, I don’t think we even officially became boyfriend/girlfriend or whatever, is in the band.”
Ji Soo blinked.
“He’s what now?”
“He’s... in the band.”
His gaze flicked back behind you, and you could feel your features contorting even more in discomfort and awkwardness.
“Which one?” he muttered.
Before you’d turned away in fear of being recognized, you’d been able to discern he had a different hair color than what you were used to and you figured that was probably the easiest way to point him out.
“The, uh -- the one with the orange hair.”
You watched as Ji Soo’s eyes narrowed a bit, and he didn’t even look back at you when he asked, “With the bass guitar?”
You nodded.
“What’s his name?”
Ji Soo’s voice had changed. Just barely, but you still noticed.
“Brian,” you squeaked.
Tumblr media
Ji Soo didn’t say anything for a few moments, and when he finally tore his gaze away from your not-really-ex, you could tell he was trying not to be upset.
Truly, he had nothing to be upset about, and you were ready to tell him that when he cut you off before you had the chance.
“Green tea latte?” he asked.
“Yes, please,” you answered, your brow knitting together. “Thank you. You’re amazing.”
I love you.
Wow, wait, what -- no, no, no, no -- nope, you did not just think that, you did not. You were going to pretend that particular thought did not cross your mind, and you were going to bury it way, way, way, way deep down. Those three words had absolutely no business popping up in your brain like that. Absolutely none. Bye.
Ji Soo simply nodded without saying anything in return, so you reached out and put a reassuring hand on his forearm.
“Can you make my latte with extra kisses?” you asked quietly. “I’m in desperate need of them.”
Your plan worked, and Ji Soo’s lips quirked into a soft smile. “Your wish is my command, my lady,” he murmured.
You squeezed his arm once more before turning and head off to find a group of three chairs or a small table. And once you located one and sat down, you immediately got out your phone and called Jane.
“Hey, I’m sorry, we’re almost there,” she answered.
“Jane, Brian is here.”
“...Brian? What, that guy you dated a couple years ago?”
“Yes, that Brian. He’s in the band they booked.”
“Oh, that’s right!” Jane gasped. “He did play guitar, didn’t he?”
“Bass guitar, yes. I had no idea --”
“Y/N?”
On instinct, you turned your head to look up at whoever had just spoken your name...
And you almost dropped your phone when you locked gazes with him.
“Jane, I gotta go,” you muttered before clumsily hanging up the phone and springing up from your chair.
“Brian,” you greeted awkwardly, forcing a smile onto your lips. “Hi.”
“Oh, my gosh, I thought I saw you waiting in line,” Brian chuckled as he lifted his arms up and out, pulling you into a hug. “Hi! God, it’s been so long. How are you?”
“I’m -- I’m fine,” you told him. You pulled away as quickly as possible without making it too obvious you were feeling incredibly uncomfortable. “How are you?”
“I’m great,” he beamed. “Really great.”
“So, you’re -- you’re in a band now,” you pointed out, glancing back at the stage.
“Yep,” Brian chuckled. “We’ve been together for about two years now.”
After the two of you stopped seeing each other, you had unfollowed him from all social media because -- well, that’s just what you did. You didn’t like to dwell too much on the past; you liked to move on and move forward.
You’d thought Brian would be upset or angry, but it sure didn’t seem like it. Maybe enough time had passed for him to have let it all go.
“This place is pretty great, huh?” he asked, that signature smile of his still on his lips.
Tumblr media
...You would be lying if you said it didn’t make your heart flutter.
But only the tiniest bit!! And not the same way Ji Soo made your heart flutter. Definitely not.
Brian was just... Brian. He was handsome and friendly and outgoing and charming and funny...
Now that you thought about it, you definitely had a type.
“Yeah, it’s great,” you agreed with a nod. And now was your chance to bring up the other handsome, friendly, outgoing, charming, and funny guy in the shop. “I actually know the --”
“Here’s your green tea latte,” Ji Soo interrupted, coming to stand right next to you. “Babe.”
You turned to receive your mug, tilting your head up and smiling at him. “Hey, thanks,” you murmured. “I was just talking about you.”
“Were you?” he asked with raised eyebrows. You felt him slide a hand over your shoulder and squeeze you there gently.
“Well, I was about to,” you clarified. You then turned back to Brian, leaning into Ji Soo carefully so you wouldn’t spill your drink. “I actually know the owners. Brian, this is Ji Soo, my --”
Oh, god.
You wanted to call him your boyfriend, but the two of you hadn’t discussed that yet. I mean, surely, Ji Soo would be more than fine if you did call him that, but still, you --
“Her boyfriend,” Ji Soo finished, reaching out a hand toward Brian.
If you could let out an audible sigh of relief right now, you would.
Brian’s eyebrows rose just slightly as he shook Ji Soo’s hand. “Hey, nice to meet you. I heard about you guys from Sungjin, it’s nice to actually see you in person.”
“Likewise,” Ji Soo replied.
“So, how did you two meet?” Brian asked.
“Oh, we, uh -- we actually met here,” you explained.
Ji Soo squeezed your shoulder again before he added, “Yep. The first time she came in, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I was working the register, but I left just so I could go talk to her.”
His words made you blush, of course, and you made a mental note to ask him later if that was really true. You very clearly remembered him saying “I’ll get back to you on the boyfriend thing” and winking at you -- how could you forget? -- but you had no idea if he actually hadn’t been able to take his eyes off you. You thought he’d just been trying to charm you to get you to come back to the shop, but...
Brian nodded, smiling at the two of you -- and his smile actually looked genuine. The two of you only dated casually for three months, and that was a couple of years ago, so you weren’t surprised he held no hard feelings (or romantic feelings, for that matter).
“That’s awesome,” he said. “I’m happy for you.”
“Oh my gosh, I am so sorry we’re late,” Jane interjected, coming to stand on your other side.
“Oh, no, you’re fine,” you assured her.
And with the arrival of Jane’s boyfriend, whom you’d never met, things were now sufficiently awkward.
Ji Soo, bless him, was able to read the room. He bent and quickly pecked your cheek before excusing himself, announcing he had to get back to work.
Brian politely told Jane it was nice to see her again and, hopefully, they would have a chance later to catch up. And then he turned and headed back to his bandmates.
Thank god.
“Wow,” Jane whispered. “Ji Soo met Brian? I’m sorry I missed that.”
You rolled your eyes but then raised your eyebrows toward the guy she’d arrived with.
“Oh, right!” she cried before stepping aside to introduce you.
After that, things were a bit more normal. It was definitely weird to watch Brian’s band play -- he hadn’t been in a band while you two dated, but he had played his bass for you a few times once you learned he could play. But they were really good and very enjoyable to watch.
Ji Soo managed to stop by a few times during their set, once to give the three of you refills, and twice just to say hello and meet Jane’s boyfriend.
He introduced himself as your boyfriend, and Jane shot you a very impressed look.
You just blushed. Of course.
At this point, did you do anything else?
When Day8 finished playing just before 9pm, Ji Soo came over and whispered for you to wait back in the office he and Joo Hyuk shared. This was not out of the ordinary; you usually did this if you were here at closing time since Ji Soo wouldn’t let you help clean up and was uncomfortable with you waiting outside in your car by yourself.
You nodded, planning to wait a few minutes, but he nudged you in the direction of the Employees Only door behind the counter.
Most likely, he wanted to avoid another interaction with Brian, and while you knew he had nothing to worry about... you couldn’t blame him. You would probably feel the same way if the situation was reversed.
So you said a quick good-bye to Jane and her boyfriend, took your empty mug up to the counter, and deposited it there before slipping through the door.
It usually took about half an hour for Ji Soo and Joo Hyuk to clean everything up, but you never minded waiting. You would usually watch videos on your phone or scroll through Reddit or Instagram or some other form of social media.
But tonight, Ji Soo joined you just after 9:15.
“Hey,” you greeted, your brow furrowed as you put your phone back into your pocket. “You finished early.”
Instead of answering you, Ji Soo strode up to you, hastily taking your face in his hands and pulling you into a searing kiss.
A surprised hum escaped from the back of your throat, and his kiss was so powerful you had to hold onto his arms to keep from stumbling backward.
He pulled away for a brief moment only to press his lips to yours again and again and again.
“Hey,” you murmured in-between kisses. “Hey, it’s okay.”
And when you managed to evade him (though you didn’t necessarily want to), you reached up to grasp his wrists as he held your face.
“Ji Soo, don’t worry,” you told him, your eyes locked on his. “There is only one person I want to be kissing right now, and I’m looking at him.”
“I know,” he breathed, his brow furrowed deeply. “I just -- I wanted to -- I’m sorry, I’m not usually --”
“Jealousy is a very common human emotion,” you pointed out with a slight smirk.
Ji Soo’s expression changed, and he looked at you as if you were certifiably nuts. “I’m not jealous,” he scoffed. “I have no need to be jealous. Why would you want anyone else when you have me?”
You simply rolled your eyes in amusement and stood on your toes to press your forehead to his. “Exactly. I also think I made a bigger deal out of it than I should have. Brian and I -- we weren’t ever really a thing. It was very casual, which I hated, actually. I stopped seeing him because it had been three months, and I still wasn’t sure where we were going. I just -- I didn’t expect to see him here, and I haven’t spoken to him since then... I panicked. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be, baby, I --”
“That’s why I like you so much, though,” you interrupted. “You told me after our first date that you liked me and wanted to see me again. And it’s been, what, two weeks? And you’ve made it very clear you want to be my boyfriend.”
Ji Soo nodded quickly.
“That’s why you are my boyfriend. And why Brian is not.”
You decided not to tell him about the nagging voice in the back of your head. The one which had said ‘I love you’ earlier. And the one which was saying ‘And he’ll be the last boyfriend you ever have’ right now.
Maybe he was hearing that in his head, too, but it was too soon to bring it up.
Ji Soo let out a short but relieved breath and then quickly kissed you once more.
You smiled against his lips, moving to wrap your arms around his neck and press your body closer to his.
“All I’ll say is,” he murmured, letting his hands fall from your face so he could hold your waist. “We won’t be inviting Day8 back here again.”
“What!” you chuckled. “No, they’re really good! You should!”
Ji Soo quirked a brow at you. “Are you kidding me?”
“No! I just won’t come. But the shop was busy tonight, and I heard more than one girl talking about how good-looking they all were.”
“Hey --”
“I didn’t notice,” you assured him, smiling softly. “I only noticed the extremely attractive guy who kept giving me refills and stopping by to check on me.”
“...Extremely attractive, you say?”
“Extremely.”
Ji Soo smirked and leaned in to kiss you yet again, though he took his time now that you’d smoothed things over a bit. He kissed you slowly, but it wasn’t a casual kiss by any means. It was slow, but it was warm and tender and... loving.
For some reason, the first time you met him flashed through your mind.
Yes, it hadn’t been that long ago, but so much had happened since then. It felt like it had been years already.
You remembered Jane asking which one of the cute owners you would pick if you had to.
You hadn’t known at the time because, objectively speaking, they were both incredibly handsome. If it had been entirely up to you, you honestly wouldn’t have been able to pick.
Thankfully, you didn’t need to pick which one.
Because Ji Soo picked you.

Which One? Ji Soo - Part 6
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Ji Soo x You
Warnings: Use of the word ‘Soccer.’ I know non-Americans hate it, and I apologize. But I am American. What can I say? 🤷‍♀️ Oh, and also mentions of alcohol.
Prologue, Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Epilogue  | Words: 3,951
Tumblr media
“Go out?” you asked, your own voice sounding foreign to your ears. It was a bit squeakier than normal, but... what about this situation was normal?
Ji Soo, a very handsome coffee shop owner, had just asked you out.
I mean, you’re pretty sure he was asking you out!
And, like... you couldn’t stress enough just how handsome he was.
So... definitely not your average Saturday night.
“Yeah,” Ji Soo assured you with a nod. “Go out. Like... get dinner? Or see a movie?”
Yeah, he was asking you out.
But there was just one thing stopping you from saying ‘yes’ immediately.
“Do you... have time to go out?”
Ji Soo chuckled softly, his lips tilting into a half-grin. “I, uh -- I asked Joo Hyuk to cover for me tomorrow night. Last Sunday was pretty slow. I guess people don’t want all that caffeine before they have to wake up on Monday morning.”
Oh, wow, that made your heart flutter. He had prepared for this and everything!
You opened your mouth to say that you would love to go out with him tomorrow night, but -- you stopped yourself.
Because there was just one problem.
“I... actually already have plans tomorrow night,” you said, your brow furrowing. “There’s a game at 7, and I have season tickets, so --”
“A game?” Ji Soo asked. He was clearly confused by what you’d just told him. “Season tickets? What kind of game?”
You weren’t surprised by how surprised he sounded. You were kind of a technology geek, so why on Earth would you enjoy sports?
“Soccer,” you explained with a tiny smile. “The Tigers. I have season tickets. My dad passed down his love of the game to me, and one of the first things I bought with my first real paycheck was a season pass.”
The expression on Ji Soo’s face was still one of confusion, but now there was some amusement mixed in there. “Huh,” he nodded. “Soccer. I had no idea.”
For a split second, you felt bad because you had to turn him down... but then you suddenly had an idea. You gasped slightly, your eyebrows shooting halfway up your forehead.
“Do you want to come with me?” you asked excitedly. “I can see if the seat next to me is open.”
Ji Soo also raised his eyebrows, and you thought maybe he would decline, but the grin tugging at his lips gave you hope. “Yeah? Yeah, of course, I would love to come. That sounds awesome, actually.”
Your heart fluttered for probably the ten thousandth time tonight, and you had to bite your lip to keep from smiling like the biggest goofball.
“It starts at 7,” you told him, clutching your laptop to your chest. “Should I pick you up here at 6? We can get food at the stadium.”
Ji Soo slid his hands into his pockets, and even though you couldn’t be absolutely sure, you had an inkling that the expression on his face was just as hopeful and giddy as yours.
“That sounds good,” he nodded. “I’ll be waiting outside right at 6. I know how you like to be on time.”
Oh, boy. First, he had prepared ahead of time to go on a date with you. And now he was promising to be on time because he knew that’s what you like?
The date wasn’t for another 21 hours, but you were already labeling it The Best Date Ever.
“Yes, I do,” you agreed with a soft laugh. “You’re right.”
“You should probably get used to saying that, by the way,” he said casually, taking one hand out of his pocket and reaching out to open your car door for you.
“Saying what?”
“You just said I was right,” he clarified. “You should get used to saying that because I’m right 99.9% of the time.”
You shot him a look which clearly said ‘Oh, yeah, right.’
“It’s true!” he argued, his eyebrows raised earnestly. “You’ll see, it really is true.”
You turned and ducked into your car, setting your laptop on the passenger seat and your bag down on the floor. “Okay, whatever you say,” you sighed, biting back a playful smirk.
“Drive safely,” he said as he leaned slightly against your open door. “Let me know when you get home?”
“I live less than ten minutes away,” you reminded him, chuckling softly but also awkwardly. It had just been such a long time since anyone besides Jane had made a request like that.
“Yeah... but still. Let me know.”
“I will,” you assured him with a nod. And just before you got into your car, you added a quiet, “See you tomorrow.”
Once you were fully and safely seated behind the wheel, Ji Soo gently closed your door and stepped back to allow you to reverse out of the parking spot. He stayed there as you drove away, lifting up one hand in a wave as you pulled out of the lot.
Oh, boy.
Oh, boy, oh, boy.
A date.
Tomorrow.
With Ji Soo.
Tumblr media
Obviously, the first thing you did after you got home -- besides texting Ji Soo about your safe arrival, of course -- was call Jane.
You had barely gotten a whole sentence out before her high-pitched squeals filled the air. And your ear canal. You literally had to pull your phone away to protect your eardrum.
“I TOLD YOU!” she cried. “Didn’t I tell you?!”
“Yes, you told me,” you sighed, remembering just the other day when Ji Soo said ‘I told you so’ about your car troubles.
...Okay, now that you thought about it, Ji Soo and Jane were almost eerily similar. They both loved to tease you, they both were quick to point out when they were right, they were both incredibly kind and sweet, they both made you laugh, and... they both made you feel good about yourself.
When they weren’t embarrassing you, of course.
No wonder Jane had been able to predict the course of events between you and Ji Soo. They were practically the same person!
“And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to bed,” you told her as you held back a huge, goofy grin.
“Gotta get some beauty rest before the big day tomorrow,” Jane squealed. “Not that you need it, but it’s always a plus to use a little less concealer. Night!”
“Good night, Jane,” you murmured affectionately before hanging up the phone.
After you got ready for bed, you settled in under the covers and got out your phone to look for Ji Soo’s ticket for the game tomorrow. Even if you couldn’t find one right next to you, you could trade yours out and find two together easily enough.
Just as you pulled up the ticket app, though, you got an Instagram notification.
TheMugShop (The Mug Coffee) is now following you.
Ooooooh.
You hastily pressed the banner alert, and your phone switched over to the Instagram app, heading straight to TheMugShop’s profile. First things first, you clicked ‘Follow back’ right away. They only had three followers so far (most likely Ji Soo, Joo Hyuk, and now you), but you were sure that would change fairly quickly.
Their bio read:
        The Mug, your favorite locally-owned coffee shop. ☕️         7a - 9p
        all photos taken by @yourusername
And, to your surprise, there was already a picture posted. It was the picture you and Ji Soo had edited together tonight, one of a green tea latte since it was your beverage of choice (and because the green color was just so pretty) so you quickly clicked on it.
The caption made you both roll your eyes and laugh out loud.
“🍵❤️we like you a latte ❤️🍵come visit from 7-9 and try our green tea latte, a customer favorite”
You would bet five bucks Ji Soo had come up with that. You’d have to remember to ask him tomorrow.
Tumblr media
Here’s a question for you:
Why are dates always in the evening?
Most of the time, people are nervous to go on a date. Especially a first date.
So, why would you subject yourself to going through almost the whole day waiting to meet up? Why would you spend hours and hours in anxiety? Why didn’t people just say ‘Hey, let’s meet for breakfast’?
Maybe you would start a new trend. Morning dates!
Except it was too late now. You’d bought a ticket for Ji Soo for the game tonight, and you couldn’t very well change the kickoff time.
If tonight went well, you would bring it up for a second date. Although, you weren’t sure when a second date would happen. Ji Soo worked at the coffee shop every single day from 7-9 -- or at least, for now. They couldn’t afford to pay you to take pictures for them, so surely they couldn’t afford to pay a part-time employee.
To be honest, though... you didn’t care. You were more than happy to just go to the shop, have a drink, and see Ji Soo, even if just for a few minutes at a time.
But you were getting a little ahead of yourself.
You would see how tonight went and then start worrying about the future.
Somehow -- some way -- you managed to get through the better part of the day without freaking out. You cleaned up the rest of your place since you’d cleaned up your kitchen yesterday, and that alone successfully distracted you for most of the morning and afternoon.
Plus, you kept busy keeping up with the Tigers on Instagram, watching videos of them getting ready to play and getting hyped for the game.
By 5:45 that evening, you were all set and ready to go, donning your team jersey with your favorite player’s name and number on the back, as usual.
You were semi-fine -- meaning not extremely nervous -- until you turned into The Mug’s parking lot and saw Ji Soo waiting by the entrance for you.
Oh, god.
When you pulled up to the front, Ji Soo lifted a hand and grinned at you. He opened the passenger door once you stopped and slid into the seat.
“Hey,” he greeted, sounding far less nervous than you felt at the moment.
“Hello,” you replied. Since you were behind the wheel, you had an excuse not to look over at him. You’d basically seen him as he’d stood outside the shop, and you could tell he looked extra good tonight. You weren’t sure how that was possible, but... apparently, it was.
“How are you?” he asked as he reached back to grab his seat belt.
“I’m excited for the game,” you told him. You decided to leave off the fact you were nervous for the date.
“You’re not nervous for the date?” he asked. You didn’t even need to look over at him to know he was smirking.
Of course. Of course, he knew what you were thinking. He was your best friend in male form!
You felt your cheeks warming as a shy smile tugged at your lips, and you shook your head slightly in disbelief. “Well, yes,” you admitted. “But it’ll be fun.”
“Yeah? I’ve never been to a game before, so I’m curious.”
“Wait, really? You’ve never been to a game?”
“Nope.”
“Like any soccer game?”
“Any soccer game,” he confirmed with a chuckle. “Joo Hyuk has, but apparently, it takes a pretty girl to convince me.”
Awesome. Not even five minutes into the date, and you were already blushing wildly.
“They’re really fun,” you assured him, trying to hide a shy grin. “I mean, I think they’re really fun. Obviously. Hopefully, you’ll have a good time.”
“Oh, yeah. I think I will. I had a good time when we were editing a picture, so I definitely think I’ll have a good time tonight. As long as you’re there.”
Okay, you couldn’t hide your shy grin any longer, and you could feel Ji Soo’s eyes on you.
Judging by the car ride alone, you were in trouble tonight. If Ji Soo kept saying things like that, you were pretty sure your lips would get stuck in this little smile for the rest of your life.
“Have you always blushed so easily?” Ji Soo asked, reaching over and poking your cheek gently.
“Yes,” you chuckled. You shrugged your shoulder to try and push his arm away, but it was more of an instinctive reaction than anything.
“It’s cute,” he murmured. “Like, just on your own, you’re beautiful. But when you blush it’s just so cute.”
“Oh my gosh, can we not talk about me anymore?” you asked with just the slightest whine in your voice. But you still had that smile on your lips; honestly, you were for real on your way to smiling permanently. All because of him!
Ji Soo obliged, though, and he (somehow) managed not to make you blush the rest of the way to the stadium. He asked about the rules of the game, and that kept you talking for the whole ride.
By the time you parked, walked to the stadium, went through security, scanned your tickets, bought some pizza and beer, and found your seats, the team was out practicing on the field.
Ji Soo asked who all of the players were, so you pointed out each one, telling him what their name was and which position they played.
“Who’s on your jersey?” he asked with half a mouthful of pizza.
“Ah,” you muttered, feeling your cheeks blush for the first time in almost half an hour. “Number 16, Martinez.”
Ji Soo’s eyes searched the field, and they narrowed slightly when he found the number 16 jersey.
Of course, you liked Martinez because he was a good player...
But... you would be lying if you said he wasn’t the best-looking guy on the team.
Tumblr media
Ji Soo turned his narrowed gaze over to you, and your eyes widened innocently.
“What?” you asked.
“I’m onto you,” he murmured, sounding utterly serious (which you knew meant he was teasing).
“What are you talking about?”
“You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
You shook your head, still keeping up the innocent act as you ate your pizza.
Ji Soo simply smirked at you, and you had to look away because it wasn’t possible to eat properly if you weren’t breathing.
Once you had both finished your pizza, the game was just about to start. You took a quick gulp of beer as the team came back out onto the field in their uniforms. You stood from your seat and clapped, cupping your hands around your mouth and cheering along with the crowd.
Ji Soo stood up, and you were reminded just how tall he was. Most of the time, either one or both of you were sitting, so it was easy to forget that he not only had the face of a model but the body of a model, too. Tall, slim, but you could tell he was also muscular.
As the national anthem played, Ji Soo leaned over and casually rested his elbow on your shoulder.
And, if you can believe it, it made your heart flutter.
So, literally, everything this guy did had some sort of effect on you, I guess. Even if he was just resting his elbow on your shoulder.
Plus, he smelled really good. He always seemed to smell good, even though he worked pretty much all day, every day.
After the last note of the anthem rang through the stadium, you gulped down your anxiety and leaned just a little bit closer toward your date.
“You smell really good,” you told him, raising your voice over the din of the crowd.
Ji Soo simply smirked before reaching out and wrapping his arms around you, pulling you into a hug.
You were so tempted to just bury your face in his chest, but he had already let go before you could give in to the urge.
Thankfully, the referee blew the starting whistle so you could turn your attention to the game instead of how good Ji Soo smelled. Or how amazing just that one, quick hug had felt.
“Okay, you have to tell me what’s going on,” he said, his voice suddenly close to your ear.
You nodded and began your commentary, making sure to stay close to him so you didn’t bother the people around you. You told him what was going on, you answered any question he had, and you also still managed to react to the game as you usually did.
The first time the ref made a somewhat questionable call, your brow furrowed deeply and you yelled out your disagreement.
“OH, COME ON, REF!” you cried. “THAT WAS A FOUL! ARE YOU BLIND?!”
Now, obviously, you weren’t the only one who was yelling at the ref. But the way Ji Soo was looking at you right now, you might as well have been.
When you glanced over at him, a bit of a guilty smile appeared on your lips. “What?” you asked, chuckling.
“I had no idea you had this side to you,” he laughed. “You just seem so... sweet.”
“I am!” you countered.
“You just asked the referee if he was blind,” Ji Soo pointed out. “That’s not sweet.”
“Well! It was a clear foul!”
You went back to watching the game, but you felt Ji Soo lean in close, placing his lips right by your ear.
“Don’t worry,” he told you. “I like it.”
You simply pressed your lips together, your cheeks blazing.
Tumblr media
Since the two of you had opted to buy food before the game, you decided to stay in your seats during halftime while almost everyone else in the stadium left.
“How do you like it so far?” you asked, reaching down to pick up your beer and down the last of it.
“Honestly, it’s a lot more fun than I thought,” Ji Soo admitted. “I don’t know why I always thought soccer was boring, but it’s really not.”
“No, not at all!”
“Joo Hyuk is going to be so pissed,” he chuckled.
“You’ll have to go to a game with him to make up for it,” you grinned, nudging him gently with your arm.
“As long as you come, too.”
“What?” you laughed. “Why do I have to come?”
“Because you’re the best commentator. I feel like I know all about soccer already! ...And because you are ridiculously cute when you’re yelling at the players.”
“Be quiet,” you muttered through your smile.
“It’s true!”
You shook your head, rolling your eyes in amusement.
Before Ji Soo could say anything else, Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” started blaring through the stadium speakers.
“Ooh, Kiss Cam!” you cried, tapping Ji Soo’s arm and pointing up to the jumbo screen hanging from the ceiling. “I love the Kiss Cam.”
“You do?” Ji Soo asked, sounding surprised.
You turned to look at him, nodding -- but then you froze.
Oh... god.
What if... what if the two of you were put up on the screen?
Oh, no no no no no.
Ji Soo would love it, surely, but...
It would be so embarrassing!
The cameramen had no way of knowing this, but it was just your first date! You had only hugged, and it had only lasted less than a second!
Your heart started hammering as couples came and went on the screen, and you could sincerely say you’d never been so nervous watching the Kiss Cam. Every time a new couple showed up, you held your breath, letting it out gently when you realized it wasn’t you and Ji Soo.
When an older couple finished kissing, the Kiss Cam logo came up and the announcer asked the crowd to give all of the couples a round of applause.
Oh, thank god. You had survived.
“Aw, man,” Ji Soo lamented, shaking his head. “I was hoping we would be on it.”
Of course, he would hope that.
Instead of letting him know you were not disappointed in the least, you simply reached over and patted his arm. “I’m sorry,” you said. “Maybe next time.”
“Next time?” he asked, eyebrows raised. “You think there’s going to be a next time?”
You stared at him, blinking, your mouth slightly agape.
Uh...
Ji Soo smirked and lifted his arm, moving to rest it around your shoulders. “There better be a next time,” he smirked.
You couldn’t help but let out yet another sigh of relief.
And then... you settled down in your seat, leaning into him and tilting your head to rest it against his shoulder.
Tumblr media
When the game was over (a satisfying 2-0 win for the Tigers, thank goodness), you and Ji Soo shuffled out of the stadium with the rest of the crowd. You headed up the stairs ahead of him, and as the people filed out with you, you felt Ji Soo’s fingers grasp yours.
Thankfully, he couldn’t see your face, but you would be surprised if he didn’t know you were blushing right now.
When you got to the top of stairs, instead of letting go of his hand, you linked your fingers through his more firmly. Ji Soo squeezed your hand as he walked beside you, and you shot him a shy grin.
Eventually, you made it out to the parking lot, and once the two of you were settled into your car, Ji Soo told you to drop him back off at the coffee shop.
“Joo Hyuk is still there, so I figure I should help him clean up some.”
“Can you please apologize to him for me?” you asked as you threw your car into reverse and began to back out of your spot. “I feel bad that he had to work by himself.”
“So, you feel bad for going out with me?” Ji Soo teased.
“No!” you chuckled.
“Don’t worry,” he assured you, reaching over and resting his hand on your thigh briefly. “We’re talking about hiring a part-timer. Hopefully. If business keeps up, we should be able to. And we can pay you for the pictures.”
“No, Ji Soo, I already told you that you don’t need to pay me. The free drinks are more than enough.”
“See? That’s why I thought you were sweet,” Ji Soo pointed out. “But then you started yelling at that ref. Now I’m afraid to ever get on your bad side.”
You simply laughed, shaking your head as you began the drive back to The Mug.
When you arrived at the shop, you pulled up as close to the door as you could since there were no other cars in the lot. You put the car in park and, a bit nervously, you turned toward Ji Soo.
“Thank you for coming,” you said softly. “I’m glad you had a good time.”
“No, thank you for inviting me. I never thought our first date would be a sports game, but that’s one of the things I like about you.”
“...What do you mean?” you asked shyly.
“You’re full of surprises,” Ji soo told you with just the slightest of smirks.
For probably the millionth time tonight, you blushed.
And you wondered if there would ever be a time you didn’t blush around Ji Soo.
“Hey, so...” he continued. “I don’t really want our first kiss to be in the parking lot, but... if you wouldn’t mind...”
Well, the blushing certainly wasn’t going to be letting up anytime soon, was it?
He was asking you if you wouldn’t mind kissing him?
Really?
You didn’t let yourself think too much about it because you probably would have talked yourself out of saying ‘yes.’
And... you wanted to say ‘yes.’
So, you nodded quickly.

Which One? Ji Soo - Part 7
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Ji Soo x You
Warnings: None
Prologue, Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Epilogue  | Words: 2,369
Tumblr media
A smile flashed across Ji Soo’s lips before he began to slowly lean over to your side of the car. He scooted to the edge of his seat, reaching out one hand and gently sliding his fingers over your cheek to cradle it.
You decided he shouldn’t have to do all the work; it was already pretty awkward since you were in a car, and it would probably be extremely uncomfortable for him to lean all the way over to you.
So, you leaned in, too.
Ji Soo’s smile widened at that, and it was the last thing you saw before you felt his lips touch yours. The last thing you saw before your eyes fluttered closed.
The feel of his kiss, the scent of him overwhelmed you in the most delicious way. You could taste the pizza and beer, which was certainly not unpleasant. You could smell his amazing cologne, and you suddenly realized you already recognized it as his scent.
He tugged at your lips gently, his palm holding your cheek as delicately as if you were made of glass and he was afraid he would break you.
The only thing he could truly break was your heart, you knew, but... there was a strange voice inside your head telling you he never would. It was ridiculous, of course, since you’d known him for only a handful of days... so you decided to ignore it.
For now.
As most first kisses are, yours with Ji Soo was brief. But it was magical.
You were not one to throw that word around lightly because magic, real magic, most likely did not exist.
But you couldn’t think of any other word to describe how Ji Soo’s kiss made you feel. It made you feel like the only girl in the world. It made you feel like there was nothing you couldn’t do. It made you feel like there was true hope, after all.
And, maybe most importantly, it made you feel like all of his teasing was totally worth it.
Like, totally worth it.
When he pulled away, he kept his hand on your cheek, his thumb just barely caressing your warm skin there. (Warm because, of course, you were blushing. What’s new?)
So, his kiss had been magical, right? We just talked about that. It made you feel all these wonderful, beautiful things.
...Tell me why, then, the first thing which popped into your mind was this:
“Did you come up with that Instagram caption?” you asked softly.
Ji Soo paused, the expression on his face one of very amused confusion. “...What?”
“The ‘we like you a latte’ one. Was that you?”
“Y--yes,” he chuckled. “What -- why are you -- why did you think of that?”
You furrowed your brow at him and lifted your shoulders into an almost imperceptible shrug. “I have no idea. I told myself last night to ask you about it, and I just... forgot until this very moment.”
Ji Soo laughed softly and tilted his head forward, pressing his forehead to yours. “Don’t worry, I can make it romantic. When I said it’s a customer favorite, the customer I was thinking of was you. The green tea latte is a favorite of my favorite customer.”
The corners of your lips nearly touched your ears because you were smiling so widely. “You’re just saying I’m your favorite because I let you kiss me.”
“That’s a small part of it, yes,” he smirked. “But you were my favorite customer before tonight, too.”
You decided not to ask why because... well, you’d already asked one weird, random question. Why add to it? If he said you were his favorite customer, you would simply take him at his word and appreciate it.
“Well,” you said softly. “I will do my best to continue being your favorite customer.”
“You don’t have to try hard,” Ji Soo chuckled, shaking his head. “Like, at all.”
You were still going to try, of course, because that’s just how you were.
Before you could respond, though, Ji Soo let out a soft sigh and leaned back, letting his hand slowly fall from your cheek. “I should get inside,” he murmured.
You nodded, a tiny smile pulling at your lips as you watched him reach for the door handle and turn his body to get out of your car.
But then he paused. He turned back to you. “I know I said this already,” he told you with a very earnest expression. “But I just want to make sure you know. I had a really good time tonight, and I definitely want to see you again. Not just at the coffee shop. But, like. Another date. Because I like you.”
That tiny smile pulling at your lips grew, and you nodded yet again, quickly this time. “Okay,” you agreed. “Yes. I want to see you again, too.”
“On another date?” he asked.
“On another date.”
“Okay,” he said with a relieved sigh, a grin suddenly appearing on his lips. “I’ll go on in now, I just... wanted to make sure there was no uncertainty.”
“I appreciate that,” you told him. Because you really, really did. In your opinion, there wasn’t much worse than being in that ‘are we or aren’t we?’ stage of a relationship. You’d only been in it once, but still. It had been horrible.
“Have a good night,” Ji Soo said as he opened your car door and set one foot out. “Let me know when you get home.”
“You, too,” you called out, watching him get out of your car. “And remember to apologize to Joo Hyuk for me!”
Ji Soo simply rolled his eyes good-naturedly before closing your door and taking a step back, letting you drive away.
Remember yesterday when you’d prematurely labeled this the Best Date Ever?
You’d totally be right.
Best. Date. Ever.
Tumblr media
Even though you desperately wanted to go The Mug every chance you could, you restrained yourself. You didn’t want to overload Ji Soo with your presence despite the fact he’d made it clear he liked you and wanted to see you again.
I guess we could say this was your way of playing it “cool.”
You were still texting him back and forth, though, and he even called you on a couple of occasions. But you didn’t actually see him in person until the Wednesday after your date when you went there for your weekly meeting with Jane.
Obviously, you’d already told Jane every single detail about your date, so when you walked into the shop on Wednesday evening, she was looking both extremely excited and extremely smug.
You knew exactly what she was going to say, so you headed over to the register so you could delay the inevitable.
There was only one person in line, and they had just finished ordering by the time you arrived. Joo Hyuk was at the register, and a friendly smile appeared on his lips when he saw you.
“Hey,” he greeted. “How are you?”
“I’m great!” you chirped. “How are you?”
“I’m just --”
Ji Soo suddenly appeared next to him, obviously having heard your voice.
“Hey, thanks, I got it,” he murmured to Joo Hyuk, patting him on the back.
Joo Hyuk simply nodded like the good wingman he was and headed off into the shop, presumably to check up on the other customers.
Ji Soo then leaned against the counter, his eyes lit up as he gazed over at you. “Hey,” he said with a somewhat dreamy smile.
“Hi,” you replied, chuckling a bit bashfully. “How are you?”
“I was doing fine about two minutes ago,” he told you. “But now I’m nothing less than wonderful.”
You let your head drop in slight embarrassment and shook your head, unable to keep yourself from grinning like a total idiot. “You are incredibly cheesy, did you know that?”
“Yes,” he announced. “I know that, and I have accepted it.”
Honestly, you wished you had his confidence.
Ji Soo then stood up straight, inhaling deeply and furrowing his brow. “Let me guess... you want something different tonight.”
Actually, you’d been prepared to order your usual green tea latte, but... you didn’t want to break his heart so soon.
“Yes!” you gasped. “I do! But I don’t know what. What would you recommend?”
...Wow. You were actually quite proud of that quick thinking!
“Well, it depends,” Ji Soo answered, looking quite pensive (and handsome). “You probably don’t like just straight coffee since you usually get lattes or tea.”
You nodded. Black coffee tasted like dirt -- no offense to anyone who likes it, of course.
“Do you like sweet drinks?”
You nodded again.
“Let’s try... white chocolate mocha,” he suggested as he nodded slowly.
“Sounds good to me,” you agreed. “White chocolate mocha it is.”
“I’ll make it right now and bring it over to you.”
Your brow furrowed slightly because you’d kind of forgotten about the free drink thing, and to be honest, you still felt a little guilty about it. “Are you sure? I really don’t mind paying and doing the whole picture thing for free.”
Ji Soo simply nodded over toward where Jane was sitting and said, “Go sit.”
“No, but --”
“Go.”
“Seriously, I --”
“If you don’t go over there in the next five seconds, I’ll kiss you right here and now.”
Without another word and without missing a beat, you turned and started over toward the chair your best friend was sitting in.
But you only took two steps before you turned back around to face Ji Soo. “It’s not that I don’t want you to kiss me,” you clarified. “Just -- not here. With all these --”
“People around, yeah,” he chuckled. “I figured. Now, go!”
You quickly nodded and turned back around once more.
The second you sat down in the open chair next to Jane, she leaned forward and said, “I have never seen someone so smitten.”
Your cheeks blazed; had you really been that obvious?
“I mean, the way he looked at you!” she continued, whispering excitedly. “You guys have been on one date, but he is already head over heels.”
...Oh. She was talking about him.
Which, of course, made you blush even more!
“He’s just an open, straightforward kind of guy,” you murmured with a shy smile.
“An open, straightforward guy who has the biggest crush on you,” Jane smirked. “It’s honestly really adorable. And if I didn’t have a boyfriend who has the biggest crush on me, I would be super jealous.”
This spurred you to remind Jane you had yet to meet this boyfriend of hers, and the two of you continued to talk about him until Ji Soo arrived with your white chocolate mocha.
“Are you guys talking about anything super important?” he asked as he carefully handed you the mug.
“Yes,” Jane replied immediately. “My boyfriend.”
“Okay, you’re right, that is super important,” Ji Soo consented. “But do you mind if I ask you guys a question?”
“Go for it,” you nodded.
“Have you ever heard of the band Day8?”
Tumblr media
Your brow furrowed, and you shook your head. “No, I can’t say that I have.”
“Nope, not me, either,” Jane chimed in.
“Well, they’re kind of local, and we booked them to play here next Saturday. I listened to some of their songs on YouTube, and they’re pretty good,” he nodded. “I just wanted to formally extend an invitation to you guys.”
“Oh, how exciting!” you grinned. “I’ll definitely be here.”
“Yeah, I can come!”
“Can you bring your boyfriend?” you asked her hopefully.
Jane’s eyes widened and lit up with excitement. “Oh my gosh, yes. Yes, I will make him come, don’t you worry.”
You felt Ji Soo’s hand come to rest on your shoulder, and he squeezed it before he took a step away. “Let me know if you need anything, okay? I will take care of it personally.”
Jane paused, one brow quirking ever so slowly.
“...You take care of everything personally. You’re one of only two people working.”
“Yeah, two people. I meant I will take care of it personally, not Joo Hyuk.”
You chuckled softly and shot Ji Soo a grin. “Thank you,” you said sweetly. “It’s much appreciated.”
“You’re welcome,” Ji Soo answered before looking at Jane as if to say ‘See? Someone gets it.’
When Ji Soo was out of earshot, Jane let out a very amused giggle. “He is too much,” she said. “And you’re right. He’s basically me but a guy. I can see why you like him!”
Tumblr media
When Ji Soo had told you about the mini-concert at The Mug, you had secretly wondered what things would be like.
Yes, he had told you only a week and a half before it happened, but still. Things had changed pretty drastically for you in just a week -- you’d gone from just meeting Ji Soo to going on a date and kissing him! At this rate, would the two of you be married by next month?
But, surprisingly, not that much had changed when Saturday rolled around. You and Ji Soo hadn’t had a chance to go on another date, though you had kissed a few more times in the parking lot much to Ji Soo’s chagrin. He kept saying he wanted to kiss you somewhere more romantic, but you kept saying you didn’t care. A kiss was a kiss!
But something which had changed was The Mug’s Instagram.
They now had over 300 followers, and Ji Soo had posted five more pictures. You knew it was Ji Soo not only because he’d told you but because the captions were adorably cheesy.
One of the pictures he’d posted was of him and Joo Hyuk, and he’d accompanied it with “Come see these mugs every day from 7a-9p” with a heart eyes emoji.
You had sent him a text message about it, scolding him for only using one heart emoji. His face alone was worth at least six!
But, besides that, nothing had really changed. And when you opened the door to the shop on Saturday just before 7, you had no preconceived notions that anything would change.
You would find out soon enough how wrong you were.

Which One? Ji Soo - Part 4
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Ji Soo x You
Warnings: None
Prologue, Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Epilogue | Words: 2,243
Tumblr media
You knew Ji Soo would tease you for being right on time.
And yet.
You were still right on time. Two-thirty on the dot. With your camera equipment in tow.
But there was no shame in being prompt! Your time was no more valuable than anyone else’s so why should you be anything less than right on time?
When you opened the door to The Mug (after inhaling deeply to calm your nerves about seeing Ji Soo again), you saw there was a short line at the register. Both Ji Soo and Joo Hyuk were busy -- and looking extremely handsome while doing it.
You managed to catch Ji Soo’s eye and motioned wordlessly around the shop, letting him know you would just start taking pictures of the interior. He nodded and shot you a friendly grin.
With your camera ready, you headed back toward the chairs and tables, glad to see they had lit the rather large, brick fireplace today. It was an absolutely gorgeous mantel, and even though the weather didn’t quite call for the warmth of a fire, it added that extra bit of coziness to the shop.
And it would make for some great pictures.
Oh, boy, you just had a thought.
You could so clearly imagine the fireplace decorated for Christmas. Garland and twinkle lights and plaid stockings. You could take so many cute pictures!
The only problem was, Christmas was not exactly soon.
And who knows what could happen between now and then?
Shaking your head to rid yourself of your merry thoughts, you brought your camera up to your eye and began snapping pictures of empty chairs, including your newly deemed favorite chair, the one you’d sat in the past two days.
You shyly approached a group of girls, asking if you could take their picture for the shop’s Instagram. They agreed readily, and you told them to continue talking as they had been. You snapped some candids of their conversation, making sure to get their mugs in the frame. You then had them write their handles on a napkin and took a picture of that so you could have Ji Soo and Joo Hyuk tag them.
Your gaze wandered back to the front of the shop, and you saw there still a couple of people in line.
But you know what? Just because they were working, it didn’t mean you couldn’t take pictures of them.
So, you crept up to the counter, staying far enough away so the customers in the queue wouldn’t think you were cutting in line, and you began snapping Ji Soo ringing up orders at the register.
A quick glance through the photo previews almost made you groan in frustration.
In candid pictures, you looked like an absolute troll. To be honest, most people did.
Most normal people.
But Ji Soo?
He looked like a model. Without even trying.
So, obviously, he was not normal.
He was some sort of supernatural being.
“Hey, what’ve you got so far?”
You jumped a little at the sudden voice next to you, and the next thing you heard was Ji Soo’s soft laugh.
Well, he wasn’t teasing you about your punctuality... just your skittishness.
“Hey,” you replied with a breathless chuckle. “Sorry. I got some shots of the furniture, the fireplace, some customers -- with their permission, of course -- and I got some of you at the register just now.”
“Ah, so that’s why you were so engrossed looking at the pictures just now,” he noted. “Because you took some of me.”
“So, when you said you weren’t going to tease me anymore yesterday, you really meant just yesterday.”
“Oh, yeah,” he replied easily and confidently. “Just yesterday.”
“Wonderful,” you murmured, trying to keep a half-smirk/half-smile from your lips.
But, if you were being honest, that is why you’d been so engrossed looking at the pictures just now.
Because you’d taken some of him. And he looked absolutely stunning in them.
Did he need to know that, though?
Tumblr media
“So, what next, photographer extraordinaire?” Ji Soo asked, reaching up a hand to comb some stray hairs off his forehead.
Even the way he did that was like a model. Good lord!
“You don’t have anyone waiting to order?” you questioned.
Ji Soo glanced over his shoulder at the register, just to be sure. “Not at the moment.”
“Okay, let’s go get some shots of the two of you,” you suggested, actively avoiding his gaze so you wouldn’t blush furiously.
“You don’t want to save the best for last?”
You simply rolled your eyes and reached out to push him toward the front, Ji Soo chuckling as he headed over.
You directed the pair in a very amateur, mini-photoshoot, having them pose both candidly and naturally as well as requesting they look into the lens and smile. You had them make drinks, talk to each other, laugh, sit on the counter, and you ended up having an idea to take close-ups of them holding out mugs, focusing on the drink and letting their ridiculously beautiful faces blur in the background.
After they’d actually made the drinks, you had them set the mugs on the counter and took pictures at different angles. You copped a few fake flowers from one of the tables and scattered them artfully around the drinks.
“What about you, then?” Ji Soo asked as you scrolled through the last batch of photos you’d taken.
“What do you mean?” you muttered.
“You don’t want to be in any of the pictures?”
You froze immediately, quirking a brow and shooting him an extremely confused look. “Absolutely not.”
“Why not? You’re a customer here, too!”
“I’m a photographer. My job is to be behind the camera, not in front of it.”
“Well, yeah, but -- I’ve seen the selfies on your Instagram,” Ji Soo pointed out, reaching out to poke your ribs gently. “They’re amazing.”
“Anyone can make a selfie look good with the right lighting, angles, and filters,” you countered. Already, you could feel your cheeks blazing. He had looked through your Instagram some more?
Suddenly, Ji Soo reached out and snatched your camera from your hands. You let out both a startled and a dismayed cry before moving to try and get it back from him.
“I’m taking your picture,” he explained with a smirk.
“Ji Soo, no,” you whined, moving your hands to try and cover up the lens so he couldn’t even see you through the viewfinder.
“Yes,” he countered. He held the camera up, high above your head so you no longer had any hope of reaching it. “Go lean against the counter like you were doing yesterday. You looked really pretty doing that.”
“I did not!” you lamented.
“Yes, you did, now get over there,” he demanded. It was a very soft, gentle demand... but a demand nonetheless. One which made it clear he wasn’t going to give up until you let him take your picture.
With a very childish groan, you trudged over to the counter and leaned against it. You buried your face in your hands and then told him, “Okay, go ahead and take the picture.”
“I’m sorry, what?” he chuckled.
You felt his fingers lightly grasp your wrist, obviously trying to move your hands away.
Okay, fine then! It was very apparent that you were going to lose this battle, so you moved your hands away. You laid one arm down on the counter, moving the other to hold your head up, resting your chin in your palm.
“Okay, take the picture,” you murmured quickly.
As Ji Soo pressed the camera up to his eye, you lifted the corners of your mouth into a tiny, close-lipped smile and tilted your head into your good angle.
“Nice,” Ji Soo whispered as the shutter clicked a few times. “Very nice.”
You expected him to pull the camera away and look through the photos he’d just taken, but to your distress, he reached out and carefully pushed a drink toward you.
“Drink that and look pensive,” he told you. “Like you’re thinking about how delicious it is and how hot the guy who made it for you is.”
“Ji Soo!” you cried, unable to stop yourself from chuckling.
“Come on!” he pleaded, already holding the camera up and pointed toward you.
You shot him a look which very clearly said you did not like this, but... you picked up the mug anyway. You brought it to your lips anyway. And you looked as pensive as you could anyway.
“Oh yeah,” you heard Ji Soo murmur after a few shutter clicks. “Beautiful.”
You set the mug down as your cheeks blazed, turning your head and raising your eyebrows at him. “Can I have my camera back now?”
Ji Soo smiled angelically and carefully handed it to you.
“I’m going to take some outside shots, and then I have to get going,” you told him. “I’ll come back tomorrow with all the pictures on a flash drive and show you how to edit them.”
Ji Soo followed you as you headed back to the chair where you’d deposited your camera bag earlier; he followed pretty closely, actually. You could smell his cologne.
“You’ll put the pictures I just took on there, right?” he asked.
“Uh, no,” you chuckled. “Those are not going on Instagram.”
After slinging your bag over your shoulder, you turned toward the door so you could leave. But Ji Soo stepped in front of you, his brow furrowed earnestly. “But I want them.”
It took you a few moments to respond to him since his words kind of made your heart race. “...Why do you want pictures of me?”
“I mean -- I took them, so they’re bound to be good,” he explained with a shrug. “And... I don’t know, I just want them.”
You avoided eye contact, fiddling with your camera and putting it back into your bag as slowly as you could. “I’ll... I’ll text them to you later, how’s that?”
As weird as it sounds, you actually felt Ji Soo smile. You weren’t currently looking at him because he was far too handsome, and you were far too shy at the moment, but you could still tell that he was smiling.
“That’s perfect,” he replied before moving out of your way and lifting up an arm to usher you to the door. “What time are you thinking tomorrow?”
“Well, it’s Saturday,” you said, taking a step toward the exit. “So, I can really come over at any time. Whenever you think would be good. It could take a while to go over everything...”
You managed to force yourself to glance up at him, but when you did, you saw he was smirking ever so slightly.
“Are you going to be able to handle it?” he asked in sotto voce.
“...Handle what?” Although you had a good idea of what he meant.
“Spending all that time with me,” he replied, his smirk growing more evident.
You simply let out a soft chuckle, shaking your head in amused disbelief.
But then Ji Soo surprised you by adding, “I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle it.”
The two of you had reached the door by then, but you paused, your head jerking back slightly in surprise. “What do you --”
Ji Soo cut you off by opening the door, putting a hand on your back, and gently pushing you outside. “Just let me know when you’re coming over,” he said in the friendliest, most casual voice. As if he hadn’t just said he didn’t know if he could handle spending all that time with you.
As if he hadn’t just made your heart jump into your throat and your palms sweat and your stomach fill with huge butterflies.
You stood there, outside in front of the door, for... you weren’t even sure how long. You only moved when another customer came in, smiling awkwardly at you since you were in her way.
When you finally managed to shake yourself out of it, you headed to your car and drove yourself home.
Honestly, you didn’t like that he had this effect on you. You had just met him two days ago, and you hadn’t spent that much time with him yet... so why could one little sentence from him render you speechless and immobile?
As you uploaded all of the pictures to your laptop later that evening, you found yourself staring at the pictures of Ji Soo. Not only because he was incredibly attractive (and maybe even moreso in pictures?), but also because... you were trying to figure him out.
Every other guy you’d met, it had taken you much, much longer to feel the anxiety and the butterflies. Even with the guys you’d immediately found attractive!
So, what was so different about Ji Soo?
A loud, somewhat frustrated, very confused sigh escaped your lips, but then the pictures he’d taken of you appeared on your screen.
...Okay, you had to admit. They were pretty good. You didn’t look terrible.
And because he’d requested it -- and because you knew he would tease you endlessly if you didn’t -- you transferred those pictures to your phone and sent them to him in a text message.
A few minutes later, you got a notification from him. Your heart pounded and you slid the alert over and opened your conversation with him.
His response?
“😍”

Which One? Ji Soo - Part 3
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Ji Soo x You
Warnings: None
Prologue, Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Epilogue | Words: 2,568
Tumblr media
As you followed Ji Soo up to the front door of the shop, you saw him put his phone to his ear. And then you heard him say, “Jordan, hey, are you super busy right now?”
How did one just... become friends with a mechanic? Because that was one of the most useful jobs in the entire world, and you were fairly sure your life would be a lot easier if you knew someone who worked with cars. It would definitely be a lot less stressful, and less stress most certainly equated to more happiness.
Your best friend was a botanist. What could Jane ever do for you? Make sure you didn’t kill your plants?
Wow.
You were about to get out your phone and send Jane a text, asking her why she wasn’t a mechanic, but you had arrived at the front door. Ji Soo was currently standing and holding it open for you. And still talking on the phone.
“Yeah, probably just a battery issue,” he murmured, nodding at you as you walked past him. “Do you have some time this morning?”
The shop was far emptier now than it had been last night, and Joo Hyuk greeted you with a small smile as he stood -- alone -- at the register.
You waved at him shyly, waiting for Ji Soo to get off the phone and fill you in on what was happening.
“Yeah,” Ji soo said as he strode over toward the counter. “Okay, thanks a lot. Appreciate it. See you then.”
You raised your eyebrows expectantly as he hung up the phone, but instead of telling you what his friend had said, Ji Soo pointed at you.
“Green tea latte,” he stated. And then he turned to Joo Hyuk. “Don’t ring it up.”
“Wh --” you began, stepping toward the register.
“Don’t fight it,” Ji Soo told you.
He grabbed a clean mug and as he started making your latte, you could’ve sworn you saw him discreetly elbow Joo Hyuk...
And you would’ve thought it was just your imagination, but Joo Hyuk murmured an ‘excuse me’ not even two seconds later and left the register.
If you were Jane, you would think Ji Soo had told him to leave on purpose so he could be alone with you.
And if you were Jane, you would walk up to the counter and lean against it so the two of you could talk more easily.
So... you swallowed your fear and anxiety and did just that.
“Thank you,” you said as you rested your elbows on the smooth, granite surface.
“You haven’t even tried the latte yet,” he chuckled.
“No, for the mechanic thing,” you smiled.
“Oh, right! He’s on his way now, it shouldn’t take long.” He only glanced at you as he spoke, focusing more on making your latte - for which you were very grateful. You wouldn’t want him to burn himself as he steamed the milk, and you certainly wouldn’t want a less than stellar drink. Especially since it would be the first caffeine fix you had today!
But also lowkey because Ji Soo had said the latte he made you was guaranteed to be more delicious than the one Joo Hyuk had made you yesterday, and you just wanted that to be true.
It only took a couple of minutes to prepare the drink, but Ji Soo insisted on serving it to you in an actual seat. You were not a paying customer this morning, but you were still a customer.
“And since this is your second time visiting, you’re officially a valued customer.”
You held back an impressed grin as best as you could, though you did lift up one hand and bring it up to your chest thoughtfully.
Even though you weren’t with Jane, you chose to sit in the same seat as last time. It had been extremely comfortable, and you were just a creature of habit -- remember? Routine makes you feel more like a human.
And as soon as you took a sip of the smooth, creamy, slightly bitter green tea latte, you felt even more like a human.
Just as you’d secretly hoped, Ji Soo sat down in the chair Jane had occupied yesterday evening, his eyebrows raised expectantly as he awaited your verdict on the drink.
After glancing around and seeing that Joo Hyuk was in the back wiping down a table, you leaned forward conspiratorially and whispered, “It’s better than last night’s.”
Ji Soo smirked, looking extremely proud of himself (but also amused and thankful you were playing along).
As you continued to sip, Ji Soo cleared his throat gently and tilted his head somewhat curiously. “Can I ask you a question?”
You nodded.
“What’s your Instagram handle?”
You almost spit out the sip of latte you’d taken, a bubble of laughter rising in your throat. Once you’d managed to swallow down your drink, you told him and watched as he typed it into his phone.
Unsurprisingly, you were quite proud of your feed. You were a professional photographer, and you had a natural knack for design and making things look cohesive -- at least on the internet. But you were still nervous about what Ji Soo would think.
Almost instantly, though, his eyebrows rose. His lips pursed, making it very clear he was impressed. He looked up at you not even a minute later and nodded slowly. “Damn. You’re good.”
“Thank you,” you replied with a bashful smile.
His eyes flew back to his phone screen, and you saw his thumb scrolling up and down, clicking here and there.
When your phone lit up with a notification that you had a new follower, Ji Soo moved to slide his phone back in his pocket. “Can I ask you another question?”
Again, you nodded.
“Would you be willing to help with an Instagram for the shop? You’re probably super expen --”
“Of course,” you answered, grinning openly.
Rather than accept your acceptance right away, Ji Soo furrowed his brow and leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees. “Now, I don’t -- we can’t afford to pay you right now --”
“That’s fine,” you assured him.
“But we can give you free drinks for two months? Three, maybe?”
“No, you don’t need to,” you countered. “I will gladly provide my photography and Instagram services pro bono.”
Ji Soo shook his head firmly. “Free drinks for four months, then.”
“Okay, fine, three months,” you replied quickly.
“Perfect,” Ji Soo grinned. “I will leave all the planning and the schedule and everything up to you. You know what you’re doing, you know how busy you are and all that.”
“Well, I have some free time tomorrow afternoon and this weekend. If you let me know when you guys aren’t super busy, we can plan out what kind of theme you want and I can take some pictures and show you how to edit them,” you offered.
Ji Soo’s grin widened, his eyes flashing with excitement and spurring your heart into a fast-paced dance.
“Yeah?” he asked. “That would be awesome. You sure you want to spend your weekend working, though? I mean, you don’t have plans with Jane or, like, your boyfriend or something?”
“No,” you answered with a shake of your head. “I don’t have a boyfriend, remember?”
Jane had made it embarrassingly obvious yesterday evening.
“Yeah, I remember. I just wanted to make sure,” Ji Soo chuckled.
You almost asked why he wanted to make sure, but the bell over the door jingled suddenly and both of your gazes instinctively flew to see who had just entered the shop.
It turned out to be a guy you’d never seen before, but Ji Soo almost immediately called out to him and stood up.
“Hey, thanks for coming,” he greeted, reaching his hand out and initiating the typical Bro Handshake.
Ah, this must be the mechanic.
You gulped the last of your latte, taking your empty mug up to the counter and setting it down before stepping up next to Ji Soo.
“You must be the unfortunate car owner,” the guy said with a friendly smirk.
“That’s me,” you confirmed, nodding. You held out your hand for a normal handshake and introduced yourself.
“Jordan,” he replied. “Nice to meet you. I’ll just go take a quick look and come back to let you know my initial thoughts. Is that okay?”
“Yes, of course.” You hurried back to your chair, fishing your keys out of your bag and bringing them back to him.
Jordan thanked you, assuring you he would be right back, and he would not steal your car.
“Yeah, he stopped doing that years ago,” Ji Soo added as his friend headed back out the door to the parking lot.
A soft chuckle escaped your lips, but as you watched Jordan stride over to your car, you couldn’t help but be just a little anxious.
And, apparently, it showed on your face because Ji Soo nudged you gently with his elbow. “What’s up?”
“What if something’s really wrong?” you asked, keeping your eyes on your car.
“Well, first of all,” he began, keeping his tone casual. “I don’t think anything is really wrong. It’s probably just the battery.”
He was most likely right, but you were still slightly worried.
“Second of all, if something is really wrong, Jordan can fix it. He’s a car genius, he can fix anything. And I can force him to give you a discount.”
Your brow furrowed, and you turned to look up at him. “Oh, no, you don’t have to --”
“I can’t pay you for the whole Instagram thing, so I can at least help you out with your car.”
“You’ve already helped me more than enough with my car,” you pointed out.
Ji Soo just shrugged, a hint of a smile hiding on his lips as he turned and headed back to the counter.
You were extremely tempted to ask why he wanted to help you so much, but you refrained. You had just met the guy yesterday, so there was absolutely no need to go there right now. He was probably just a helpful guy!
So you decided to bring up work, instead. You followed him over to the counter, leaning against it, as you had earlier, while Ji Soo washed out your mug. “While we’re waiting, we can talk about your Instagram feed. If you want to.”
“Yeah, yeah, totally,” he replied, his back to you as he rinsed out the mug in the sink.
“What kind of theme were you thinking? Any specific coloring? Layout?” you asked.
Ji Soo was quiet for a few moments, washing the mug in silence.
You waited patiently, and when he finally set the clean mug down and turned to face you, he simply laughed.
“I have no clue,” he admitted. “I just want to be active and really interact with people.”
“Okay, so leave the theming to me, and I’ll leave the interacting to you,” you grinned. “Do you know what kind of pictures you want on there?”
“Now, that, I do know,” he answered, pointing at you. “I want mostly pictures of our menu, but also pictures of the shop and maybe some customers if they’re okay with it.”
You didn’t reply right away because you were waiting for him to continue. He hadn’t mentioned the one thing you, as a customer, would want to see on the shop’s Instagram feed.
But after several moments, it was clear he wasn’t going to say it.
So you would.
“What about pictures of you guys?” you asked with raised eyebrows.
“Us?”
“Uh... yeah. People will definitely want to see pictures of the two of you.”
If you weren’t mistaken, a somewhat bashful look came across Ji Soo’s features. Which was extremely surprising.
Ji Soo?
Bashful?
You didn’t know him that well, but even so, it was hard to imagine him ever feeling shy.
“I mean, sure,” he answered with a little shrug, his cheeks just barely tinged with pink. “I’ll do it as long as Joo Hyuk does.”
You were honestly almost about to ask why he was being so coy about it, but the door to the shop opened yet again.
It was actually a customer this time, but Jordan was right behind her, so you stepped away from the counter to go meet him.
“It was just the battery,” he told you, much to your relief. “I went ahead and jumped it. It’s still running, so if you wanna go on out there...”
You darted over to your chair, grabbing your bag and heading back over to the door.
“Thank you so much,” you said quietly to Jordan as you stood in the doorway. Before you left, you glanced back at Ji Soo... but he was too busy ringing up the customer to notice you were leaving.
But what else could you do? Your car was out in the parking lot, running; you couldn’t just stay in here. You had to go out and drive it around so the battery could charge, and then you had some work to do back home...
It really wasn’t that bad because you weren’t sure you could even classify Ji Soo as a friend yet, but still.
You would send him a quick apology text later and hope he didn’t tease you about it.
Tumblr media
Since you needed to drive your car around some, you decided to run a few errands. You filled up your tank, you went to the grocery store, and you took a nice drive around town to just... enjoy the scenery.
You arrived back at your place around 10, and by the time you got some of your work done for the day (you were currently working on designing a website for a custom merch store), it was kind of almost lunchtime.
You hadn’t contacted Ji Soo at all... but he hadn’t contacted you either.
Which was understandable since he was working, of course.
But you were still pretty nervous as you typed out a message to him.
Tumblr media
You weren’t sure why you were expecting a reply back immediately because surely the shop experienced a mid-day rush... but with each passing minute, you got more and more anxious that Ji Soo was upset with you for not saying good-bye.
You busied yourself by getting a pre-lunch snack, telling yourself over and over it meant absolutely nothing that he wasn’t replying back.
When you heard a text message notification go off right before 11:30, though, you couldn’t help but let out a huge sigh of relief.
Tumblr media
Oh, thank god. He wasn’t mad at you!
And now that you were in the clear, you could relax and... To be honest, you kind of felt like some playful teasing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, in the span of less than an hour, you went from being extremely nervous and anxious that Ji Soo was mad at you for leaving without saying anything... to being extremely excited and anxious about this whole Instagram meeting you were having tomorrow.
Yes, you were excited because you just loved photography and the idea of planning a whole new Instagram profile was super intriguing.
But... you were also definitely excited to spend more time with Ji Soo. And it had been a long, long time since you’d been excited to spend time with a guy.

Nerd
jisoo + 2 + 2 + 5 thanks for opening requests babe! i love you, and i can't wait to see what you come up with!
Here you go, my lovely @garlandcrowns ! This is very loosely ‘enemies to lovers’ so I hope that’s okay!!
Genre: Hogwarts!AU
Pairing: Jisoo x You
Trope: Enemies to Lovers
Prompt: “You have the emotional capacity of a brick.”
Tumblr media
“What is it?” you asked with half-annoyance/half-’I’m so done with you.’ You raised your eyebrows at Jisoo as you crossed your arms over your chest, waiting for him to answer.
“Well, do you have to sound so... so... so you?” he asked, his expression one of utter offense.
“What did you want to tell me?!” you asked impatiently. “The train is leaving soon, and if you don’t spit it out, we’ll miss it.”
You and Jisoo had been friends -- okay, well, not friends. You’d known each other since you were very, very little. Your dads had been best friends and neighbors, and you were born only a few months apart, so the first chance your parents got to set up a playdate - they had.
Jisoo had always been annoying. As far back as you could remember, he’d teased you for being a Ravenclaw. Even though you hadn’t actually been sorted in Ravenclaw yet, he’d still teased you about it.
If it hadn’t been for your parents’ friendship, you would’ve stayed far, far away from him.
And now, you had both finished up your seventh and final year at Hogwarts. You had been sorted in Ravenclaw (and you’d actively avoided seeing the particularly smug look on Jisoo’s face as he’d sat happily at the Gryffindor table), and it had been easy enough for the two of you to go about your separate lives.
Except... Jisoo still teased you. At least for the first four years. Whenever you two had a class together, he would always sit behind you and tug on your hair or throw paper balls at you or poke you with his wand or something annoying.
Apparently, he had gotten bored of it when you both entered your fifth year because his teasing was reduced to mere verbal jabs when you passed each other in the hall.
Mainly he just called you “Nerd.”
But now those days were over.
Well, you thought they were over.
Now Jisoo was standing in front of you outside of the train station - you were so close to freedom, and he was now the only thing standing in your way. Quite literally.
But then you noticed he was acting a little... strangely. He seemed nervous and anxious, two words which you would never in a million years use to describe Jisoo.
Jisoo, the confident, outgoing, friendly Gryffindor, was standing in front of you fidgeting and barely meeting your gaze.
“Jisoo, what is it?” you asked, for he still hadn’t answered your question.
He’d tugged on your elbow just before you’d gone up the station steps, murmuring that he needed to talk to you. And yet... he wasn’t talking.
“I just --” he began, stammering. “I just need to tell you something.”
You narrowed your eyes a little, your brow furrowing in confusion. “...Yeah. I know. You said that already. What did you need to tell me?”
Jisoo took a deep breath before finally meeting your gaze, his eyes clear and bright and kind of piercing into your soul.
“I need to say this before it’s too late, before I regret it.”
...What the heck was he --
“I like you. I always have, and I probably always will.”
Your jaw dropped.
“Wh -- what are you -- you -- you’re --” you sputtered, unable to complete a thought because you were so taken aback.
Jisoo... liked you?
“I don’t expect you to return my feelings, but I just felt like I couldn’t go any longer without telling you,” he explained.
Return his -- couldn’t go any --
What?!
“I’m so confused,” you finally said, a bit breathlessly. “You like me?!”
Jisoo nodded. His expression was as earnest as you’d ever seen it, so you knew he wasn’t just teasing you.
“But -- but you have the emotional capacity of a brick. Why have you been teasing me all this time?! All these years?!” you cried.
“I started out teasing you because I didn’t know what else to do. I liked you back then, but I didn’t know how to deal with it, how to express my feelings. Because you’re right, I do have the emotional capacity of a brick. So I just made fun of you.”
“That makes no --”
“I know,” Jisoo sighed, obviously annoyed. “But it’s just how boys that age work.”
“Well, you weren’t that age in year four,” you pointed out quickly.
“No, I wasn’t,” he agreed. “But I was still stupid. I still didn’t really understand that the reason I wanted to be around you and talk to you so much was because... I liked you. I didn’t realize that until --”
“Year five,” you finished. The year he’d stopped most of his teasing.
He nodded, biting the inside of his cheek nervously.
Even though you could hear the train steaming and puffing behind you, you stared at him for a while. A minute, at least.
Jisoo began to get extremely uncomfortable under your gaze. He shuffled around, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
“Are -- are you going to say something?” he asked anxiously.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” you asked, much to your surprise. The question had just kind of sprung up out of nowhere.
Jisoo must have been surprised, too, because his eyebrows shot halfway up his forehead.
“Earlier? Why would I -- I know you don’t like me. Why would you?”
“So why now?”
“Because we’re done. We probably won’t see each other all that much once we get jobs and stuff, so I just...” He lifted his shoulders into a little shrug, the expression on his face still one of anxiety.
Adorable anxiety, you were realizing.
“I only didn’t like you because you were mean to me,” you explained. “I wanted to be friends with you, but you wouldn’t stop calling me ‘Nerd’ for even one second.”
Jisoo’s brow furrowed. “You... you did?”
“Yeah,” you chuckled. “Our parents are such good friends, and you were always so fun and wanting to go on adventures and not following the rules. I would’ve been your friend if you hadn’t started teasing me about being a Ravenclaw.”
“Well, I wouldn’t have started teasing you if you hadn’t been so pretty.”
You had been about to prepare yourself with a retort, but your mouth snapped shut when he had finished his sentence.
Your cheeks warmed at his words, and they warmed even more when you saw a smirk playing at his lips.
“Are you blushing?” he asked with a soft chuckle.
“No, shut up.”
“I think you are.”
“We’re going to miss the train,” you spat out hurriedly before turning and racing up the steps to get to the platform.
“Wait, hold on,” Jisoo laughed. You heard his footsteps thumping behind you, and then you felt his presence at your side.
“Can I sit with you?” he asked.
“Sit -- sit with me? Why?” You joined the line of students waiting to get on, your fingers fidgeting just as Jisoo’s had a few minutes ago.
“You said you wanted to be friends, so let’s be friends.”
You shot him a somewhat confused glance, your heart beating just a bit faster than normal. “Friends? I thought you --”
“I do,” he affirmed with a nod. “But I’d rather be just friends than go back to how it was.”
You drummed your fingers against your thigh as you chewed on the inside of your lip thoughtfully. “You... you won’t tease me anymore?”
“No,” he chuckled.
“And you won’t call me ‘Nerd’?”
“If you really don’t want me to,” he answered. “Although, I have to say, for the past couple of years, I’ve meant it in only the most affectionate way.”
You couldn’t stop a breath of a laugh from escaping your lips, and you shook your head.
“So I can sit with you?” he asked again.
You glanced over at him just before stepping onto the train. And you weren’t sure why, but you said, “Yeah.”
Had you liked Jisoo’s teasing all these years? No, of course, not.
But you would be lying if you said you hadn’t liked that it was Jisoo teasing you. If it had been anyone else, you would’ve been flat-out miserable.
The fact it had been Jisoo had always seemed to make it more bearable, though you’d never truly understood why.
Had you psychically known he was only teasing you because he liked you?
Or... had you - deep down - always kind of liked him, too?
As he followed you back to a compartment, your mind was racing with possibilities. Possibilities for the future, to be precise.
All of sudden, you were imagining things you never would’ve thought you’d imagine. With Jisoo.
You’d always kind of known Jisoo would be a part of your life but only because of your parents’ relationship. You would probably have to see him every now and then when your families got together.
But what if...
“You can buy me a pumpkin pasty or two,” you said as the two of you sat down in the plush seat across from two Hufflepuffs. Good - if you had sat down with any of your friends, they would’ve wanted answers immediately.
“Oh, I can?” Jisoo smirked.
“Yes, you can. As an apology. A peace offering, if you will.”
“Okay, fine. I’ll buy you... whatever you want from the trolley, how about that?”
You turned slightly towards him and stuck your hand out for a handshake. “I think that’s an excellent way to start a friendship.”
As Jisoo shook your hand, you had an interesting feeling that it would be an excellent start to a friendship. A friendship that would last for years - even decades.
But also like... more than a friendship?
Maybe you were just being crazy.
Or not.
Jisoo was super cute, so... who knows? Maybe all the things you’d just been imagining - dates, kisses, cuddles, marriage, a house, a fence, a dog, kids - weren’t just you being weird. Maybe... they would happen.
Maybe Jisoo would call you ‘Nerd’ for the rest of your life, and you wouldn’t hate it.
Like, at all.

Which One? - Prologue
oooh b!!! can you do something with Nam Joo Hyuk or Ji Soo? (or both) I miss my boys so muchh 😭
I obviously had to turn this into a series starring not just one but BOTH of these attractive men. I hope you like it, @wonholdmyheart!
Genre: Coffee Shop!AU
Pairing: Either Ji Soo x You or Joo Hyuk x You
Warnings: None
Words: 1,431
Tumblr media
It wasn’t your typical Wednesday night.
No, a typical Wednesday night consisted of meeting your best friend, Jane, for coffee at a nearby Starbucks. Ever since graduating from university a few years ago, the two of you had been pretty busy. Jane had (somewhat surprisingly) put her botany degree to good use by landing a job at the city’s botanical gardens while you had worked your way up to being a freelance photographer and website designer.
Once it was clear the two of you were too busy being actual adults to hang out like you did during school, you decided to meet up at least once a week for coffee and gossip. You had randomly picked Wednesday since none of the television shows you watched aired on Wednesday, and it had stuck. You and Jane had been meeting up on Wednesday evening almost every week since then, for years now.
But, like I said, it wasn’t your typical Wednesday. Tonight, the two of you were not meeting up at your usual Starbucks. You were, admittedly, a bit cautious because... to be quite honest, you were basic. You liked Starbucks.
But for the past couple of weeks, all you’d been hearing about was this new coffee shop. Except... you hadn’t been hearing anything about the actual coffee.
All everyone was talking about was how attractive the owners were.
Apparently, two very handsome guys had decided to open up a coffee shop, and it was now the talk of the town.
You weren’t going to lie: you were pretty skeptical. But not just because you wanted to go to Starbucks.
You’d been living here for more than a few years now, and you’d been single for literally all of them.
A.K.A. you’d been on the lookout for cute guys for quite some time now.
If there were two of them, you would’ve found them by now.
I’m not saying you would be dating them by now, of course, because... well. Your dating life was not that exciting. But you definitely would’ve known about them.
So they were either incredibly new to town or... they were not that cute.
You pulled into the parking lot of the shop, curiously named The Mug, and let out a deep sigh. Because, not only were you craving a Pumpkin Spice Latte, but it was currently pouring down rain.
(To be fair, it wasn’t even Pumpkin Spice Latte season. You were probably just being contrary because you didn’t particularly like change. 🤷‍♀️)
Your usual meeting time was promptly at 7PM, and you despised being late. So once the clock in your car hit 6:59, you pulled up the hood of your rain jacket, quickly opened your car door and made a run for it.
Since the parking lot was pretty crowded, you’d had to park farther away from the shop than was ideal on this rainy evening. You weren’t wearing shoes for either running or rain, so you walked as quickly as you could, even breaking out into a jog when you were about halfway there.
A sigh of relief escaped your lips as soon as you reached the comfort of the indoors. You carefully slid your rain jacket from your shoulders and shook it off gently over the doormat.
Once you got a hold of your bearings, you took a deep breath and shifted your gaze to the interior of the shop.
You weren’t sure what you had been expecting... but you were pleasantly surprised.
Maybe it was the fact the shop was owned by two men -- or the fact it was named The Mug -- but you’d been expecting something cold and boring and bare.
Cold and boring and bare was not what you saw, though.
You saw exposed brick walls and warm lighting and patches of greenery and plush armchairs and sofas. You heard the soft murmur of conversational chatter. You smelled the robust, delicious aroma of coffee and pastries.
To be honest... it was cuter than Starbucks. And it smelled just as good, so it gave you hope that their beverages would not disappoint you.
Just before you took a step toward the front counter, Jane’s wildly waving hand caught your eye. Your eyebrows shot up your forehead as her lips pulled into an excited but somewhat sly grin.
You knew she was simply making sure you knew 1) she was already here, and 2) she had a seat saved for you, but her smile made it clear she was anxious for you to actually see the two guys everyone had been gossiping about the past couple of weeks. So you responded by tipping your chin and shooting her a small grin before turning toward the register.
The line was about four people deep, and you took your place behind a middle-aged lady who smelled quite strongly of powdery, floral perfume. You kept your distance as much as you could, and by the time you stepped up to order, you found you’d been too distracted by her that you hadn’t even looked at who was behind the counter!
Since the place was so new, you figured the owners were still in the very hands-on stage. If they weren’t taking and making orders, they were surely doing something visible, mingling with customers.
And as soon as you laid eyes on the guy behind the register...
Tumblr media
...Oh.
Wow.
“What can I get for you?” he asked with the friendliest of smiles, his eyes sparkling and practically piercing into your soul. But in a way which made your heart flutter.
“Uh... hi,” you responded, trying your best to return his smile without being awkward. “Green tea latte?”
“Absolutely,” he replied eagerly. “What size?”
“Uh... medium? Please?”
As he bent his head to punch your order into the register, your eyes flicked to his nametag.
Ji Soo.
So, apparently, the most handsome man alive was named Ji Soo.
Good to know.
He lifted his head (of gorgeous, thick, dark hair) to provide you with your total, and after you paid with your debit card, he assured you that your drink would be right out.
When you turned around to join Jane, your eyes immediately found her and widened.
Her eyes widened right back, and her brow knit together in distress.
Your butt had just barely made contact with the seat she’d saved for you before you whispered, “Oh. My. God.”
“RIGHT,” Jane hissed.
“How have I never seen him before?!” you cried in hushed tones. “He must be new.”
“But wait,” Jane retorted, holding up one finger. “That’s just one of them. Wait until you get your drink.”
Oh, that’s right! There were two of them you’d been hearing about!
But... how could someone be more attractive than Ji Soo? Or even as attractive as Ji Soo?
But after a few minutes of catch-up and small talk with Jane, you were proven wrong.
“Green tea latte,” a deep voice came from behind you.
You glanced over your shoulder, ready to receive your drink... but your eyes landed on...
...Well.
Tumblr media
You sat there frozen, only jolting into action when you felt Jane kick your foot.
“Oh!” you chirped, reaching out to take the mug. “Thank you.”
The guy -- Joo Hyuk, according to his name tag -- pulled the corners of his lips into an adorable, close-lipped smile and nodded at you. “Let me know if you need anything else,” he murmured before straightening up and heading off to another customer.
As you held your mug, you slowly turned your head to face Jane, your eyebrows lifted in astonishment.
“...Who was that?” you asked softly.
“Exactly.”
“How... how do two of the best looking guys I’ve ever seen exist in one place? In our town? In the same coffee shop?”
Jane let out a soft chuckle, lifting her shoulders into a shrug. “If I knew, I would tell you.”
You shook your head before taking a tiny sip of your latte -- which was absolutely delicious, by the way.
Oh, god.
Realistically, you knew you would never have to choose.
But if you did... which one?
Which one, indeed.
