So BE was my first ever K-Drama, so I'm not too sure what fascinates me about it is bc the storytelling is influenced by a culture I don't understand and what is specific to BE.

One of those things is that my ear isn't used to the language, so I'm very sure I'm missing a lot of the subtleties that can't be conveied in translation and it's driving me crazy. I have come to understand through Tumblr posts the name suffix -ah is apparently very important.

Joo Won is my favorite especially in all his sniffling, screaming, crying glory and I was shocked to find out the actor is actually younger than the character. Like he's not what I would call mature in the series, but at the same time I 100% thought the actor could be even older. Dong Sik is so good too, when he smiles and laughs I'm just as lovestruck as Joo Won, but i didn't miss whole passages of dialogue looking at him like I did with Joo Won, I was gasping and telling my Laptop 'he's so pretty, beautiful, oh my god' multiple times.

I usually don't like crime series, it's just never interested me, so I avoid them, but i never had that feeling with BE. Like it wasn't about the crime if that makes sense. I felt like it was about the relationships, how each character would shape the happenings, who valued what and broke their secrets when. The scene where Dong Sik is like 'does it even matter who killed them' replays in my mind on an endless loop. Because it doesn't. It feels utterly irrelevant and that is fantastic!

Also honorable mention to the scene where Joo Won first grabs Dong Sik by his collar. I think my squeak at that was way too loud. He forgot his aversion for touch and reached out aaaaaah I'm still so giddy when I think about it

Okay I think I'm done ... For now. Though I have told my friend she should liveblog to me while she watches so maybe I'll return screaming if she tells me smth I can't comment on to her bc it'd be spoilers.

i'd watched a few kdramas before BE, and i've enjoyed them to varying degrees but this one has me in a chokehold. i'm not super familiar with sk culture, and i'm veeerrrrry slooooowly learning the language, so i'm sure i'm missing a lot of the nuances but i think the story is told in such a way that it's kind of universal.

(i've been told that the -ah [or -ya] suffix is reserved for people one considers good friends, but i could have that wrong. i took dong sik calling him 'joo won-ah' to mean that he's important to him, and that he cares about him. growth.)

i adore joo won and all his issues, my poor little meow meow. and he's so SO PRETTY (i recommend watching more stuff with yeo jin goo--he's honestly one of the best actors i've ever seen, and he's only 24.) and dong sik.........he. fuck. i love dong sik so much (maybe too much but so be it). he's funny and flirty and everyone loves him, but he's also solitary and sad and haunted by his demons. i don't know if i kin any characters, but i feel super connected to lee dong sik. he's burdened with so much, and he wears his bright smile and sense of humor like armor. *shakes fist* i love him. and of course, he is really really REALLY hot.

i love crime series; i usually prefer them to series with overtly romantic themes, so BE was right up my street. and yeah, i totally agree--the crime part is important, but it's secondary to the characters, the way they're developed, and relationships that are happening throughout the series. i love when women write and direct characters.

and jwds. JWDS has changed my life, full stop.

that scene you mentioned when joo won grabs his collar is so!!!

the intense hold, the way joo won's eyes quickly flick down dong sik's face, how close they are to each other. *vibrates* hnnngh it's so delicious. had me flailing on the couch the first time i watched it.

and The Scene at han ki hwan's house after the climax of the show (YOU KNOW THE ONE) fucking UNMADE me. stripped me down to my essence. changed the trajectory of my life. ugh. the tears! the tenderness! these men are in love with each other, your honor!

when the door to the shop chimed, yeosang didn’t bother looking up from his book he was reading. he knew that usually customers – humans at least – would just look around before leaving or come up to mindlessly flirt with him. it was the same thing every time the bell dinged. 

he could hear the customer’s shoes, heels to be exact, softly thudding across the old wooden floors as they strolled around the small shop. his hearing could pick up where exactly in the shop they were, so when they finally started nearing the back to where he and register were, he assumed this customer just wanted to flirt with him like always. 

“um, excuse me,” yeosang’s head shot up immediately at the sound of the familiar voice. you stood in front of him also with a look of shock from how quickly yeosang moved and his eyes flickered down to the canvas in your arms. 

“o-oh, um, hi. how can i... how can i help you,” yeosang says as he tries his best to relax, but honestly he doesn’t think he can, not when you’re here in front of him and talking to him. 

you smile softly at him before handing over the canvas you had in your hands, “this is the painting hongjoong asked me to paint. he told me i could find him and the rest of you here. is he, um, is he here by any chance?”

“huh? oh, yeah is he, let me go get him!” yeosang had never moved so fast before as he practically jumped off his stool and ran to the back to get the group’s leader and tell him you’re here. 

“y/n’s here!” yeosang says probably a bit too loudly and maybe just a little too excitedly but he hasn’t seen you in centuries. he has a right to be happy to see his missing lover. 

hongjoong isn’t by himself in the back, all the others are basically here too, except for jongho and san who had gone out to get information on how to help you remember your first life.

“she is? why?” mingi asks, a look of shock drawn on his face knowing you’re here just in the other room. 

“she brought the painting hongjoong asked her to paint,” yeosang says and hongjoong is quick to go to the front and yeosang picks up on how hongjoong greets you with a cheery tone. 

at first yeosang thinks about staying in the back and letting you and hongjoong talk for a moment, but his need to see you again overcomes that he heads back to the front of the shop. he hears the others coming up behind him as he does and he figures the others couldn’t wait either. 

a wave of memories washes over him as he sees you and hongjoong interacting so closely. all the times he would see you and hongjoong interacting on the utopia, all the lingering stares and touches you thought no one else saw, but in reality everyone saw.

he misses you. they all miss you. 

“wow, y/n, this is beautiful,” hongjoong can’t take his eyes off the painting you gave him and you have a proud look on your face as your eyes flicker between the male and the painting before you slowly look up and over at where him and the others are. 

“oh, i didn’t know you all worked here as well!” you say and greeted them all with a smile. 

“i actually own this shop,” hongjoong says and you turn to look at him in shock. “my grandmother ran this shop before passing it down to me before she retired.” yeosang couldn’t help but slightly snicker at how hongjoong called hyuna a grandmother. 

“really? that’s so cool! i had actually never been in this shop before until today,” you offhandedly as you glance around the shop some more. “oh!” you say catching the six males off guard as they watched you dig through your bag before pulling out eight envelopes. “siyeon is throwing a party and wants me to invite you all!” you say handing each other an invitation before giving jongho and san’s to wooyoung. “i hope you all can make it!”

“of course! we’ll do our best to be there,” hongjoong says, but yeosang knows that all eight of them are definitely going especially since you’re going to be there. “also, thank you again for the painting, it really is beautiful.”

“oh, of course! i’m glad you like it, i always enjoy painting sea related stuff, so this was a blast to paint,” you explain with a small laugh. “well, i should be going! i promised siyeon i would help her with party decisions, so... i’ll see you all around,” you say bidding the males goodbye before turning on your heels and leaving the shop. 

yeah, yeosang and the other are gonna have to work fast.

sometimes when yeosang misses you, he’ll find himself remembering the time when you all were together on the utopia. he’ll remember how you use to help him in the kitchen, acting as both a hand and taste-tester to him. 

all the heated gazes the two of you shared being the reason for his flushed face that he would blame on the heat in the kitchen when the others would question him. although he was sure the others didn’t believe because his magic dealt with fire, so some kitchen heat was nothing for him. 

but no matter what the same thought still comes to him. he just misses you. he thinks that over and over again until he falls asleep and you appear in his dreams. 

it’s silly he knows it, mainly using his magic in order to ensure that you appear to him. he has sweet dreams when you are with him and others all enjoying your time together; however, the moment he remembers that none of it is real and that you are living a completely different life without remembering them, without remembering him. it all turns into a nightmare. 

and its always the same. the same day he and the others are forced to remember and sometimes relive again and again for centuries. 

“yeosang, wake up!” 

his eyes snap open and he feels hot, his bangs matted to his forehead with sweat and his eyes are immediately trying to get used to the darkness of his bedroom.

that voice... he thinks as he brings his hands up to cover his face. huh? was he crying? 

“yeosang,” he hears it again and sounds so close to him. right next to him and he feels like he’s still dreaming. but he turns his head and his brown orbs meet your own worried eyes as you sit next to him in his bed. 

“y/n...?” he reaches out to touch your cheek, his hands caressing your face and he gasps when he realizes you’re real and next to him. 

“why are you crying, love?” you ask him watching as he sits up. you reach over to brush his tears away before he suddenly takes you in his arms. “did you have a bad dream, yeo?”

yeosang doesn’t trust his words so he just nods his head as he nuzzles his head into your neck. “it’s okay,” you say softly, rubbing his back in comfort, “i’m here and nothings going to happen while i’m here. i promise.”

yeosang has heard you say those words before and it only makes him cry harder. you said that to him the first time you woke him up from a nightmare. you would always take him into your arms and hold him and wipe away his tears and tell him it’s okay and it’s all in the past. 

when yeosang does finally calm down, tears no longer running down his face, he slowly pulls away from you to lay back down. you lay down right next to him, pulling the blanket up to your chins as you brush hair away from his face. 

“i love you,” he says as he feels himself slowly falling back to sleep. you smile sadly at him, a hand still running through his hair as his eyes finally close.

seonghwa was jealous, yeosang was 100% sure of that. the ice mage’s glare could probably set someone ablaze if he had fire magic instead. and honestly, yeosang doesn’t blame his boyfriend for being jealous because he was as well. 

“and who the hell is that?” wooyoung was the one who spoke up, shocked like seonghwa and himself at the sight of you talking to this unknown male. 

well, unknown to them at least. you seemed to be pretty close to the male, too close if yeosang or any of the others could say anything. 

“do you think they’re...” mingi didn’t want to say it out loud, probably knowing how much chaos he would cause among them if he did. 

yeosang wanted to be upset. upset at you for potentially going and falling in love with someone that isn’t them, but he couldn’t. he couldn’t be upset at you because this you, the one standing not too far from him and his seven lovers, this you isn’t the same you he met all those centuries ago. 

you don’t remember the love you shared and it broke yeosang’s heart. 

his eyes flickered over to seonghwa noticing the furrow in his eyebrows before he looks over to hongjoong who is just staring at you with sadness. then his eyes go back to you and this male who are sitting closely next to each other. the guy looks at you with such a softness that it reminds the fire mage of how seonghwa looks at all of them, with love. 

the male plays with the ends of your hair, running it over your face in a teasing manner that makes you laugh and yeosang would be lying if he said your laugh didn’t make his heart flutter. 

yeosang misses you.

yeosang can’t help but sigh as soon as his body hit his bedsheets. he felt clean and relaxed after a long day of working in the shop below them and dealing with both humans and supernatural creatures alike.

You’re surprised at how easily he carries you 

Almost bumps your head onto the ceiling because he’s so tall

He has to squat slightly so that you don’t get hurt 

When he brings you back down he has the biggest smile on his face 

“I like you” 

Your face changes from :D to (꒪⌓꒪) real quick 

Mingi thinks you don’t like him back 

Gets sad for a moment 

It’s not that you don’t 

You just didn’t think he liked you back and now you’re so flustered your brain pretty much short circuits

Bcs somehow you just managed to make his pranking more intense

Gets really quiet around you because he doesn’t want to say something that could embarrass him

You feel like he doesn’t like you as a person in general from how quiet he is 

Either way, you needed his help to carry some stuff from your car into the dorm

His heart flutters at the thought of you asking him first 

So he helps you 

It’s still silent because he really doesn’t want to make a fool out of himself 

You’re kinda scared because you knew he was really strong and you didn’t want torture the others with carrying the bags filled with various christmas decorations 

All of you decorate the living room together 

Jongho’s kinda sad that you don’t stick by his side 

He wonders whether you don’t like him either and starts feeling discouraged because he was supposed to play you a song he wrote

He had Hongjoong help him 

Hongjoong finds Jongho really cute and he couldn’t say no

I Rate Some Kdramas I’ve Watched by Quality of Whump

A while back I rated every cdrama I’d watched by quality of whump bc it is a main factor about what makes me like a cdrama. Now I’m having a boring evening so I’m back for the sequel: the same thing but for kdramas. Two quick qualifications:

1. Unlike the cdrama post, this is not ALL the kdramas I’ve watched bc there are too many and some of them I can’t really remember. (I’m also not including any kdramas I haven’t finished.)

2. Actually I’m less likely to watch a kdrama solely for whump bc I tend to look also for Suspense or Historical Aesthetic. (why is this more the case with kdramas than cdramas? I Don’t Know.) Anyways, if you’re lucky, you can get at least 2/3 of these things.

Without further ado:

Circle: Two Worlds Connected--I forgot to add this show at first but it is very whumpy. Yeo Jin Goo spends the whole thing looking extremely stressed and it’s a good look on him. People are getting kidnapped! Threatened! Having their memories erased! People are losing their brothers! People are crying! Good whumpy show, 8/10.

Confession--This show was mostly boring and kind of bad but the whump was decent. There was a guy who had a heart transplant whose heart was now having issues. Idk, he fainted a couple times, it was fun. There may have been other whump but it just wasn’t a very memorable show. 4/10.

Extraordinary You--Eun Dan-oh has a chronic illness (I think it’s a weak heart??) which might be more fun for me if I liked girls being whumped, but I’m not super into that. Bad things do happen to Baek-kyung, but it all feels samey and never goes anywhere. Oh, I do feel awful about Dried Squid Fairy’s tragic backstory though. I guess like a 4/10 again.

I Picked Up a Star on the Road--This show’s characters are mostly insufferable but its whump is pretty good actually since it’s centered around a dude getting kidnapped. Played for humor but that’s okay. However, there were characters more worthy of whump than the lead, and the whump was not equally passed around. 5/10, I feel like the vibe of this kidnapping is more kinky than whumpy.

It’s Okay Not to Be Okay--You know what? Sometimes women getting whumped is good when those women are Seo Ye Ji. Bad things happened to other people too but mostly whenever Ko Moon-young’s past or her relationship with her mother came up it was very good whump. 6/10.

The King: Eternal Monarch--This show’s decently whumpy but I somehow don’t feel it. Lee Gon’s father figure dies and he’s separated from his loved ones and all kinds of bad shit happens to him but I don’t care that much about Lee Gon so?? that’s unfortunate. Bad things also do happen to literally everyone else but, idk, it still doesn’t feel super whumpy to me. Two best whumps are poor Eun-sup getting shot and Kang Sin-jae’s ongoing existential crisis. But listen, they should have whumped Jo Yeong and I feel they did not adequately take advantage of the opportunity to do that. 6/10, you could probably make an argument for me to go higher but I don’t want to.

My Country: the New Age--If you’re not watching this show for whump and angst I’m really not sure what you’re watching it for. The history?? The maybe 2.5 minutes of chill per episode? I mean there are lots of pretty people and good ships but the main appeal of them is that everyone’s Suffering (TM). A lot of people get stabbed and/or betrayed. Even the happy scenes feel sad bc you don’t trust them. Ending is tragic and I would usually take off points for mixing tragedy with my whump but I accept it bc it was cathartic. 10/10.

Psychopath Diary--Genuinely I can’t remember if this show had good whump. I feel like if anyone I would have wanted to see Seo In-woo whumped bc he was pretty but I don’t recall that happening much. I think there was some though? 5/10 for “I can’t remember but I want to believe.” This drama probably shouldn’t be on this list but I love it so I’m including it despite my bad memory.

Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung--This light-hearted show still crammed a lot of whump in! Dowon gets everything from nightmares to fevers to arrow wounds to traumatic revelations, and Min U-won and Goo Hae-ryung both get arrested at different points and almost killed at others and have tragic backstories as well. Everyone’s fucked up over something but there’s no reason to let that ruin the rom-com/workplace comedy vibes, people. A lovely blend of light tone and still pretty intense whump. 8/10.

Save Me--This show combines the above mood of “I’ll take lady whump if it’s Seo Ye Ji” with a heavy dose of “what if we also whumped Woo Do Hwan? What if.” I don’t really like fiction about cults--they really creep me out--but the whump and the characterization of this show are both incredible, and honestly I feel that it’s a show where the whump and the characterization feed off each other and make each other better. 8/10.

White Christmas--Everything about this show is great, whump included. I mean some of the whumpiest scenes are just very tense chase or fight scenes with kids having mental breakdowns and attacking each other but they’re still good. People are threatened at gunpoint, locked up in dorms, pushed off cliffs, and generally beaten up. There’s a little hurt/comfort too but mostly it’s just hurt. A bad time for everyone except me, the viewer. 9/10.

So, in his mind, this is what he’s saying out loud okay

“Y/n, I just wanted to let you know that I have some serious feelings for you. I know you may not feel the same way, but I just needed to tell you.”

Super awesome, everyone wishes to be that composed right?

Well here’s what he really said:

“Listen here, you cute mother-, no I shouldn’t swear at you, my bad. I’m totally in love with you right? Watchu think bout dat?”

and then he’s quiet, and smiling bc he’s proud of himself and you’re just like um????

like that’s not how you imagined this would go

But you also know that he’s gonna be super embarrassed about this in the morning so you just say

“Let’s talk tomorrow, Joongie?”

and he smiles at the nickname and nods and kinda puts his head down

You honestly cant wait to tell him you feel the same when he’s sober

and make fun of him for getting wasted

Seonghwa:

so Seonghwa, unlike Joong, is actually pretty composed

like at first, he’s wildin’ and everything

but then he just calms down super fast

like so fast you get whiplash

and he just smiles at you and you’re like “...freak”

then he frowns and he’s like “I like to look at pretty things that make me smile”

“You make me smile too, Hwa” :)

then he just grabs you into a hug and starts swaying you guys side to side

like some awkward and forced middle school slow-dance 

“What are you doing?”

and he shushes you to preserve the moment but you're like “I want answers”

then he finally leans his head down and his lips are brushing the shell of your ear so softly you barely notice

“I think I love you”

he strikes me as the kind of person who wants to confess but also isn’t ever 100% sure he wants to confirm that he loves you so he throws that “I think” in there to cushion the blow if you reject him

but, luckily for him, you do feel the same

you just turn your head ever so slightly to the side and peck his temple

he smiles and rests his head on your shoulder and squeezes your hips before wrapping his arms around you completely

“I kinda need to hear you say it”

“I think I love you too, Hwa”

Yunho:

okay this big ole baby right

I feel like he’s the kind of drunk who is crazy for a little bit but gets tired really fast

so after like an hour of insanity, his eyes are drooping and you’ve settled on a couch (or seat, wherever your location might be)

and he smooshes his cheek into your thigh and you’re totally aware that he’s gonna fall asleep on you

but you’re cool with that, I mean who wouldn’t be

and after a couple minutes of silence, you think he’s knocked out completely

he suddenly turns his head to look up at you

and you look down at him to ask if he’s okay, or if he needs anything

he just starts laughing and then this IDIOT

pokes your double chin (bc I mean why does he have to look at you from that angle) and goes “How is it that I like you so much, even your double chin is cute?”

part of you is like “omg he likes me” and the other part of you is like “...im gonna slap him. don't talk about my double chin”

so, given your inner turmoil, you're silent for a minute and he starts to pout

“you don’t like my double chin?” and he makes a double chin and grabs your hand to make you poke it

“say you like my double chin too, please”

“Yunho, I like you too... double chin and all” (you had decided that you are not going to slap him after all)

and thats kind of the end of the night bc after that crackhead confession he actually falls asleep

but you are lucky enough that he remembers it all the next morning and it becomes kind of a thing in your relationship to make double chins at each other then say “I love you” 

Yeosang:

drunk Yeosang and aegyo here we go

whiny baby voice and big eyes and pouting all the way

like he’s not so much into doing the cutesy actions like finger hearts and stuff

but refers to himself as “Sangie” and talks about himself in third person too

CLINGY

not necessarily cuddly, but always has to be holding your hand or else he’ll cry

calls you pet names like Jagi and my love and stuff

and at first you’re like aw he’s a cute drunk and tease him a little bit

but then he pouts even harder and murmurs “I'm serious”

you’re like O.O

“you mean it? you really like me, Sangie?”

nods his head furiously like you seriously think he’s gonna get a concussion for about .5 seconds

like okay I get it, you mean it, please stop doing that your head is not a maraca

so halfway through a tub of ice cream he decides to lay some truth on you okay

and you, of course, having seen that meme, respond with “ugly?” and you cackle at your own joke

but he’s so offended

“apologize to yourself and this ice cream”

“wtf? why?”

“because ice cream is the second most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen after you. apologize”

literally holds the tub of ice cream up to your face, and will literally carve a sad face into the ice cream to make you apologize quicker

and when you apologize he eats the sad face and draws a smile

sentimental cheeseball is all he is in that moment okay

“you really think I’m pretty?”

he looks at you like “...duh”

“I think you’re pretty too, Sannie” and he smiles so big :’)

and both of you know that this would be the start of a really happy relationship aww

Mingi:

I bet Mingi is the cutest drunk okay like if you thought he was a giant puppy before get ready you aint seen nothin yet

and you don't even get a warning before he confesses bc he says it so out of the blue

like his whole plan was to drink some liquid courage iykyk and then he was gonna confess

but he ended up getting a lil more tipsy than originally intended

and he just blurts it out and he’s stuttering and lisping and just struggling to get all the right words out

but you just think it’s super endearing

“Minnie, are you drunk?”

he starts blowing raspberries in the air and starts shaking his head “you think I’m drunk?” 

literally hiccuping after every word lmao

like yes, Mingi, I think you're drunk

still blowing incredulous raspberries all over the place

and you blow one on his cheek and he starts giggling like the baby he is

“why you do that”

“bc I like you too, Minnie! also you were starting to spit and I needed you to stop that”

he giggles and nods at you, just happy that you feel the same way

nuzzles his head into your shoulder and plays with your fingers for the rest of the time youre together

Wooyoung:

okay he’s a crackhead already so I don't even think alcohol would be something he’s even offered most of the time lmao

but when he is all hell breaks loose

no subtlety about his confession at all

like he literally screams it at you

he had been paying extra attention to you all night, which you didn't even notice bc you liked him too and never imagined he felt the same

so you’re like he so friendly and clingy when he’s drunk

but five minutes later he’s like “DID YOU KNOW IM IN LOVE WITH YOU”

and you’re so taken aback because

1.) he just screamed in your face

2.) he just screamed that in your face

and then he’s quiet and just staring at you, waiting for a response

you’re so dumbfounded that all you say is “you too”

but thats enough for him

“GOOD THATS AWESOME”

and thats basically the end of the conversation bc he gets easily distracted

you have to remind him the next day that that conversation had even happened actually

and he’s like “oh yeahhhhh”

then you’re able to actually talk about what you both feel and be almost normal for about ten minutes lmao

Jongho:

since he’s on the quieter side compared to the rest of the group, I think this shows even more when he’s been drinking

but it’s almost concerning how quiet he is

like if you had never seen him drunk before you’d probably be really worried

and that’s exactly what happened

you went to check on him to see why he wasn't joining in the fun and he looks at you, a little teary from the alcohol

or maybe he’s just deep in his feels who knows

we’ve all been there amiright

and he’s like “just like you a lot you know that?’

you’re like “I was most certainly unaware of that, sir”

and he apologizes??? like why???

“I like you too, doofus, why are you sorry”

then he smiles and means it for the first time that whole night

he feels like he could crack all of the apples in the world he’s so happy

so basically you just made him the happiest apple murderer in the world

he’ll break all the apples for you baby

and i quote he said “everything happens for a reason child, if your mother had treated me and had been a good person this wouldn’t have happened to her, but alas some people deserve what they get”

being very much done with your father who you really wished would just disappear and leave you and your mom who no longer lived with you but now lived with lilith to be

you had thought of running away for a very long time, though never knew how to get off the island it seemed impossible

sure you knew how to fight, somewhat by watching the guards and the little training mark you had taught your two years ago. 

missing mark hours but it wouldn’t compare to the guards of the royals who would never aid you

and even if they had, you had never learned how to sail which was ironic as the island you lived in wasn’t very large. Your only method of transportation has been your legs and your families faithful horse lethian ?? who really was your favorite out of all the animals 

running away from the trapped life had always felt like a dream, one that you had lived for for the small year in london with mark

you thought about running away again, the idea of sneaking into a trading boat slowly forming in your mind

you could take her your mum and lilith and travel the world go to london again and paris and canada and re-unite with the friend you missed the most

a smile had formed on your previous grim face, the dream something you held onto until your eyes opened and smoke covered the sky

a ringing began in your ears and you tried to stop it, your hands covering your ears in an attempt to stop the noise but the ringing only got stronger

the sky was black, shots were heard were the village people yelled in panic

you looked out towards the sea and could see the outline of a ship

a very large ship

oh shit 

a pirate ship

the flag blew proudly in the boat and from where you stood the bone white skull that contrasted against the black around it was made visible everytime the wind blew 

you gasped, everything anyone had told you about pirates were that they weren’t to be trusted

they were ruthless and would do nothing to stop from getting what they wanted

the stories you'd heard all came to the same conclusion you see the flag you run in the other direction

you pace quickened and in small time you were running towards the blazing village now up in smokes fire and fog covering the bakery, and fields

the school that had taught you the basics of reading and writing until girls weren’t allowed to attend was a blaze royal guards their black and purple uniforms waved their hands around and pointed their too heavy too unbalanced swords not being of much use

mom 

she should be safe

safe with lilith you thought, looking back towards were the small castle stood its bold flag still flying proudly in the grey and black sky

safe , shes safe you keep telling yourself a constant buzz that you repeated over and over to yourself in order to continue moving towards the castle walls

you only lasted a solid five minutes before the guards were holding the civilians back

you sighed angry these idiots being more preoccupied with holding back the citizens who were trying to get to safety behind the castle walls than actually dealing with the threat at hand

who hired them really??

being the stubborn human you are you decided to head towards the back entrance as yuo saw a flash of blonde hair headin towards the back gate of the castle 

oh no was your immediate thought their gonna get to lilith and mum

all the guards had been directed out of castle except a few that had stayed inside to keep the royal fam safe the infirmary had been left unguarded

you looked around trying to look for a familiar face, a familiar guard who youd seen at a practice lilith had dragged you too she had said it was too “admire suitors” you had shaken your head and laughed 

you had no interest in tying yourself to a man that would treat you like something to throw around but you let her revel in her fantasies 

no familiar face was found so you turned and ran towards the blonde head you had seen walk towards the back entrance grabbing a sword from one of the dead guards 

your cursed the clothes women were given making it impossible to run in impossible to fight in 

the blonde boy turned around at your approach, he was young you noticed

probably your age, his grin was deviant and his eyes were mocking as she approached 

“please” you tried “don’t hurt hurt anyone else” 

the boy looked at you with a puzzled look at laughed, slashing away at the thorns and vines that encircled the back door to the castle as he found the lock and tried to break it open

you got closer, looking at the broken glass bottles that littered the floor and torches that lit up the fogged street 

the boy was too busy with the look to realize the girl that had come behind him and hit him in the back of the head with the swords dull pommel the boy let put a yelp before collapsing at your feet

your small victory lasted a small time and before you noticed the boy you had tied with the thorns and vines from the door, which continued to be locked 

your mum and lilith as far as you knew safe

began to stir and as his eyes opened another boy appeared at the end of the alley

his hair seemed to be part of the night sky, falling over his dark eyes. 

“mark!” the black haired boy cried, his hand at his scimitar pointed directed towards you his other hand had managed to slip a dagger out of god knows where and sliced mark’s binds

mark the name sent a shock through you and you took a closer look at the young boy whose eyes were now wide open no anger shown

 but instead amusement and the joyous spark you had once known

he looked so different 

the black haired boy still had a sword at your throat and you swallowed briefly 

“mark?” you gasped feeling the tip of the sword against your neck a small movement and it would nick your skin, blood would swell

‘Mark’ looked at you again and laughed, 

the black haired boy looked confused “let her go jeno” 

jeno was like ‘excuse me ? she knocked you unconscious no i'm not doing that’ he didn't say it but mark understood and laughed again this time it was more mischievous a feral grin adorned his features

“let her go, she’s coming with us” jeno and you were both like huh? has this boy gone mad?

probably letss be realll

“umm no im not” you snapped at the boy you once knew, you glared at jeno who had regrettably removed his sword away from your neck but had placed the dagger threateningly close to your back ashe forced you to move along

you didn’t get an answer from mark who still seemed very entertained by the whole situation

he had changed so much since you’d last seen him *sigh*

you three walked back towards the village and you hadn’t realized how the screams of pain and fear were no longer heard

more than a few guards littered the floors and you tried not to gasp as jeno forcefully continued to move you towards the sea its waters black 

the walk to the pirate boat seemed to last ages, the sun had begun to set in the sky casting dark purple and red shadows above the black water that didn’t reflect any light. It broke your heart to see the usually clear water be black, the animals that lived in the waters probably struggling to survive.

when you finally arrived, the panic began to settle in again. you didn’t know if your mum and lilith were safe, you didn’t know what would happen and the boy you knew two years ago had changed so much that you could no longer read what he was thinking 

the ship loomed in front of you, you hear the small buzz of chatter from the ship and laughter

why was there laughter in such a horrible place ??

“Come on” mark said, already walking getting onto the ship, not looking back at the mess they had left behind

You no longer felt the sharp prick of a dagger or sword at your back, but instead it had been replaced by a strong hand guiding you towards the ship

the contact startled you, and you straightened and continued to walk forward the ship only a few feet away, you still held onto the rock that you had hit mark with, your sword taken away by jeno

you forced your feet to stop moving, because one more step and you’d be on the pirate’s boat, and ducked, and made a weak attempt at attacking the black haired boy behind you hitting him with the small rock you had on the leg

you begin to move away from the boat. The victory lasted a solid second before jeno had his arms around you, pinning your hands behind your back. No longer smiling, or understanding in his dark eyes. you glared at him and then at mark who had finally turned around, a sort of sadness passed over his features before he spoke

“you can’t run away y/n” he said calmly. “remember in london? when you dream about running away, leaving this island and  exploring the world? away from your father?”

his words shocked you, but you didn’t want to leave your mum she had no one else 

“i can’t just leave mark !! my mum, she’s still there and i can’t just leave her with father” a look of recognition and understanding flitted through jeno’s face and reflected in mark

“i know, i know but if you stay here and go back” the boy shook his head, the dark of the night making his blonde hair a dull light in the fog, 

you knew, that in many ways he was right. if you did go back the villagers had seen you with the pirates, being taken by them as the village had burned down and you weren't scared. the worst scenario would be that if you did go back they would imprison you, ask you for information 

hurt mum, hurt lilith even is she was part of the royals

you felt the tears well up in your eyes, and refused to let them fall

“we aren’t all that bad” peeped jeno’s voice who had softened again, until you looked at him and his gaze hardened

you forced yourself a small smile, and placed your foot on the board of the boat 

“Let’s go swashbucklers” you said, 

after all, the stories you’d heard had come from your father, and all his stories were a lie.

It's me! Hope I'm not bugging you. If you can give me a rundown of Ateez (their personalities in life), I'd love you forever! -Minty the Cookie

Okay here we go!

Starting with our beloved leader, Kim Hongjoong is the second oldest member of ateez. He’s incredibly multitalented, he can sing, he can dance, he can rap, he produces music in his studio all the time (which is why he falls asleep in a lot of places. He exhausts himself too much). 

Also something very special of note since debut, Hongjoong has had his one pinky painted in support of the painted man campaign, a campain that encourages men to paint one of their nails in order to raise awareness for CSA victims. I’ve seen plenty of men do this, and I love them for participating, but I’ve never seen anyone do it for as long as our leader and precious Mini Hong

Next is Park Seonghwa. He’s the oldest and the shortest member of who I have dubbed the ‘Tall Line’ (Him, Mingi, and Yunho). Seonghwa is the king of murdering visuals and the members affectionately call him Angry Bird (because of his eyebrows) and Toothless (because of his smile). Seonghwa also appears to be the ‘no nonsense’ member of the group due to his resting bitch face and such, but he’s just as much of an adorable dork as the rest of them.

Next is Jeong Yunho, Ateez’s energizer and self proclaimed ‘puppy’! Yunho is the tallest member of Ateez (some people will tell you him and Mingi are the same height. They’re wrong.), and he has the most adorable nose scrunch in the world when he smiles. Yunho is one of the members of the performance line (with Mingi and Yeosang) and he’s honestly the softest baby bean ever, please give him smooches, okay?

okay okay, next is my soft boy. My baby boy. My absolute-*cough*ahem.

Kang Yeosang is one of the visuals and performance members of Ateez. He’s a shy boy that sucks at winning games (its so sad but also so cute). His favorite thing in the world is flavored chicken and he has a big sweet tooth. He used to be a BigHit trainee (the came company as BTS and TXT) but then he left and joined KQ. He’s also been friends with Wooyoung for 5 years and they aren’t afraid to talk about it. He’s a little petty, tbh, and he likes to casually talk shit about/to the other members (in a friendly way, obviously. But this makes people lable him as ‘savage’ and I have to laugh sometimes bc if yall think that’s savage than I-). He also has the most adorable lisp and birthmark ever near his eye. You don’t see the birthmark often because it’s covered by makeup but seriously, just listen to Yeosang talk. His lisp sends me to a higher plane of existance.

Also his natural eye color is gorgeous, kk thx bye-

Next is our king of dualities, the one everyone calls ‘demon’ one second and then ‘babie’ the next, Choi San! San is honestly a jack of all trades. Main vocal, stunning visual, chaotic but wonderful performer, lOUD(tm). San is honestly just a babie whenever he’s not on stage and he has a habit of collecting plushies. The one we know of the most is a shiba inu plushie named Shiber! San also is highkey Wooyoung’s husband *cough*

Next is Mr. Fix On, himself, Song Mingi! Mingi is the only other rapper of Ateez alongside Hongjoong. He’s the second tallest member of the group, another member of the performance line, and he’s full of energy at all times. Unfortunately, baby boy has been out on injury shortly after this era began, so any recent ateez videos you watch won’t have Mingi in it, since he’s resting. But please love him with all your heart, okay?

Now we have the one ‘in charge of the sexiness in the group’ even tho they’re all sexy wtf, Jung Wooyoung. Okay so remember how I said Yeosang was a BH trainee and then he left for KQ? Guess what? Wooyoung’s friendship and love for Yeo was so strong that he actually followed him to KQ. He said he wanted to debut with his friend and even if they failed, they’d fail together and if that isn’t the cutest shit ever-

Wooyoung is also the epitome of baby boy culture. Small, loud(tm), very affecionate. He’s also a little sHIT and we love him for it. Wooyoung gets a good amount of visuals in mvs and choreos, and you may know him well for the little smirk and wave after the first ‘Will You Be My Friend?’ in Pirate King, or the wiping of the lips after all the boys fucking ended themselves at the end of Hala Hala. Honestly, what a legend.

and last, but not least, is Choi Jongho. Our maknae and local strong boi(tm). Jongho is one of the main vocals and his nickname is “the maknae that’s not really the maknae” because out of all of these crackheads, he’s definately on the more mature side of the spectrum. (Don’t be fooled completely tho, he’s got the chaos energy in him, too). Jongho has some wicked powerful vocals to accompany the fact that he can probably break you with a finger flick to the forehead. He’s also known as the “real life fruit ninja” because, like....he breaks fruit apart (mostly apples) with his bare fucking hands. Showoff.

Goblin ❣︎ 도깨비

Kim Shin, an undefeated war general, is ultimately killed by a jealous young king named Wang Yeo. After death, Shin is revived by the gods—but his revival is by no means miraculous. He becomes a 도깨비 (dokkaebi, goblin), and is cursed. He will have to pay for all the lives he took in battle by living alone in immortality, witnessing everyone he's ever loved, die. Remaining lodged in his chest is the very sword that killed him. There is only person who can see that sword, and draw from his heart so that he can finally rest in peace: his bride... whom he's yet to meet.

Chipper, yeah? Haha so, right off the bat, the premises of Goblin remind me of like, a much more morbid version of the legend of King Arthur. You know, a man draws a sword from stone to prove himself the greatest king in all of Britain? Yeah. Just to be clear: this is a good thing (imo). Like, I personally think this is just such a cool idea for a drama 😍

Let's jump right in. I'm gonna be honest and say that, at first, I felt a little turned off at the female lead, Eun Tak, being nineteen (in the beginning of the show), meanwhile the male lead, Shin, is 900+ years old (but physically looks to be in his thirties). It just... rubbed me weird. But hey, the Twilight series (both the books and the movies) is exactly the same—high school girl, century-old man, bananas yet somehow romantic storyline... And I loved me some Twilight as a young adult. So I mean, I have no right to judge, really. Plus, Eun Tak soon turns twenty anyway. So that's an improvement I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ We follow her character into her late twenties, nearly thirty. So things are definitely fine by then haha! 👍

Don't let that previous bit make you think I didn't enjoy Goblin—I LOVED it. That detail is just a lil funky to me, is all. Back during my Twilight obsession days, I was nearly twenty myself, and the thought of being pursued by an older man was exciting. Hell, I mean, it still is! But now that I'm two years shy of my 30th Birthday, I feel differently sometimes. I think, LAWD get that girl away from that man, she too young for him LOL. I am definitely getting old... Enough about Twilight now, apologies! I'm only using it for the sake of conveying similarities seen in Goblin 🙏 Let's talk cast!

Kim Go Eun as Ji Eun Tak and Gong Yoo as Kim Shin

Eun Tak is a bubbly young woman with limitless energy! While still in her mother's womb, Mama Ji was involved in a hit-and-run incident which, sadly, took her life. During Mama Ji's dying moments, she prayed to anyone above that her child's life be spared. Sat on a rooftop from afar, beer in hand (lol), Shin hears her prayers, as he is a god of sorts. He appears before Mama Ji, and shows mercy to her unborn baby. Eun Tak grows up with the ability to see/speak to ghosts. Said ghosts tell her constantly that she is the goblin's bride. How do they know? A strange birthmark on the back of Eun Tak's neck tips them off. Eun Tak unfortunately was taken in by her abusive bitch of an aunt, who jabs Eun Tak every chance she gets. Her cousins are assholes. Eun Tak's aunt really only keeps her around in hopes of collecting Mama Ji's savings (intended for Eun Tak) one day. Sad, right? I mean, isn't Eun Tak being born without her mother enough as it is? Life can be so cruel 😔

Lee Dong Wook as Grim Reaper/Reaper/Wang Yeo

This is Grim Reaper (or Reaper for short), portrayed by the handsome Lee Dong Wook. His character is just this strange, not at all tech-savvy man with a constant deadpan facial expression. Said facial expression provokes so many giggles during funny moments, and drives home the longing and desperation during sad times. We learn quite a ways in that he, in his previous life (again, just in case: spoiler), was Wang Yeo G A S P ! The young king that is essentially responsible for Shin's death, as well as all the misdeeds that were done to Shin's family. Again, this is something I don't want to spoil. Well, more, anyway 😆 You gotta see it!

Yoo In Na as Kim Sun/Sunny

Kim Sun, or simply, Sunny (she loves to spell her name for people lol, S-U-N-N-Y!) is the second female lead. Yoo In Na is so gorgeous that one look at her makes you feel like such a potato hahhah. 🥔 This fact about her beauty bleeds over into the show itself—every time another character meets Sunny, the camera does this slow motion pan into her lmao. She really is that pretty! Sunny's personality comes across so odd at first... Having watched all of the episodes now, I feel the intention of Goblin's creators was to make her seem like a soul searching for something it has lost in a previous life. idk if that makes sense, but yeah. She has this way about her, like she's disconnected from others, and is sifting through the haziness to find this thing she feels she's lost.

Yook Sungjae (my BtoB bias 😍) as Yoo Deok Hwa

Sungjaeeee ahhhh 💘💘💘 I had to gush, sorry! Hehe. Meet Deok Hwa: unofficial nephew of Shin. Deok Hwa is a third-generation chaebol (heir to a family-owned corporation) and spoiled man-child, always seeking his credit card hahaha 🤣 But I love him so much. Between Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, and BtoB Sungjae? Man, I'm dying over here! Deok Hwa's true identity is revealed later in the show, which if you haven't seen it yet, I won't spoil it. Just watch. But his ending sucked. Like where did he go? Everyone else's endings got tied up neatly except for his. What gives, man? 🤔 Edit: I was actually reading an online conversation about what happened to Deok Hwa online—someone jokingly said he was reincarnated as BtoB Sungjae LOL 💯

AMAZING OST 😍😍😍

Good pace, episodes drag at times. A little confusing in the beginning, but you get there eventually. Maybe this is just me though, viewers who are a little more keen than I will likely catch on sooner ;) My mom was a little confused as well, and actually said at one point, "This should be called the 'what-the-hell-is-going-on' show," hahaha. Like I said though, we quickly moved on from this, and loved all the things. There are actually, I think, three (?) specials that were made to aid viewers in making sure they understand the complex events and relationships clearly. I haven't watched them yet, but want to!

Quite repetitive tbh, as there are unnecessary flashbacks often. Probably for two reasons: the obvious of reminding you what's what, but also to create suspense. Typical duration of most tvN dramas seems to be about 16 episodes, so it's possible these flashbacks and things are, for lack of a better word, filler. I don't know how rigid or lax tvN is about having a drama set at 16 eps, but I get the idea this is their preference. Seeing as so many of their programs on average last that long, I feel this must be what they want. Such has the potential to affect the writing, either positively or negatively.

A continuation of the previous bullet: I think Goblin's creators oversimplified the plot at times. I'm unsure if this is due to possible pressures to meet a specific requirement(s), or what. I'd rather forgo ALL restrictions and let creativity flow, let the story be told without pressure to fill a specific amount of time, etc. but TV production is weird. And contracts are weird. tvN might not to blame for these issues, could simply be that storytelling isn't always easy, man. I'm a writer myself, it's hard! I'M being redundant now lmfao! Anyway, yeah ~

Absolutely LOVED all the scenes that were filmed on location in beautiful Québec City, Canada 🍁 Tall, romantic trees, the fall foliage, historic buildings... sigh. Now all I need is Gong Yoo chasing me and we're all set! ;D

In addition to Shin being revived, my crush on Gong Yoo has been revived as well LOL. He fine 🔥 A classic K drama crush, can't go wrong with GY👌

Gong Yoo is always stellar at doing kiseu (kiss) scenes, and in Goblin, he does not disappoint. He really goes at it 🙈 which is preferred vs. the typical person kissing a stone statue that you see so often. He even did a lift kiss with Kim Go Eun that was reminiscent of THEE Coffee Prince kiss he did with actress Yoon Eun Hye! 😍

I never saw it coming, how the sword would wind up being removed from Shin's chest. I worried what the writers were going to do, how would they approach this, and just wow. The way things turned out is such a relief. It also told me that Shin's love for Eun Tak is true. I mean, I didn't need that scene to occur for me to know that, rather it just adds extra oomph that yes, Shin really does love Eun Tak. He didn't want her to suffer knowing she was responsible for his "death," so he thought quick and used her hands WITH his hands asdfghjkl. How dumb (bc noooo now you're gonna die) and amazing he is at the same time 💜

I love how Shin made his way back to Eun Tak after passing away, it was such a powerful scene. I could really feel his struggle, and kept yelling at my TV for him to stand up lol!

Devastated that Eun Tak died 😭 I really thought as many times as she'd cheated death before, she would somehow continue cheating death again and again for the rest of her days. But no... What a selfless person, Ji Eun Tak. Her being reincarnated as Park So Min gave me some closure. Not the closure I wanted, but closure.

The relationship between Shin and Reaper is ADORABLE. Whenever they interact with each other, they just have this great dialogue. Shin pings, Reaper pongs, Reaper pings, Shin pongs. It's great 😄 I still laugh about the slow-mo scene of them returning from the market with green onions HAHAHA 😂

I love Sunny & Reaper ~ However, their history as Kim Sun & Wang Yeo in their past lives is so very sad. I don't even know where to start RE: my feelings on this 💔 imo, their ending kinda sucked. I just wasn't satisfied with them having had this complicated, tragic story, only to be reincarnated in this fashion that I ultimately found to be just... idk, disappointing 😩 Again, closure, but not the closure I wanted.

I thought Reaper, the other grim reapers, the name cards, the depiction of what happens immediately following death with the brewing of the tea, the afterlife, etc. was all very creative. We really don't know what awaits us when our time comes—it's interesting to wonder if it's anything like it is in Goblin 🍵

Can't stop thinking about Goblin, even though I'm now watching Thirty but Seventeen & Mr. Sunshine! I'm emotionally cheating lol halp.

park jihoon/maroo: i want him as center tbh like he fits the idol image, people say we just stan him for his face but like no, yes he’s good looking but he also has so much talent!! beatboxing, popping (dancing in general), he has good vocals and can rap too!! 

park woojin/brandnew music: what else can i say other than he’s my fave brandnew trainee!! i always get hooked on the dancers (half of my top 11 are dancers oops) and this boy just never fails to exceed my expectations 

kang daniel/mmo: what can i say i’m a sucker for bboys not only that but he’s talented af (a rapper that can sing)!! he wasn’t even center but his sorry sorry performance got me shook!! also a cute lil peach and a very supportive dad to little woojin

ong seongwoo/fantagio: four dancers in a row wow but definitely one of my faves, his predebut pics and videos always get me lmao also him as sorry sorry center got me @fantagio why wasn’t he included in astro wtf

lee woojin/media line: okay none of y’all can deny that this baby doesn’t have talent like he’s 15yo (i feel old) and he can do all that, i’m just worried about him going through puberty at this point bc voice cracks and voice changes

jung sewoon/starship: our talented ponyo!! another weakness of mine are guitarists, combine that with good vocals and i’m sold

takada kenta/star road: okay this boy came out of nowhere like i would see gifs of him on here and i would queue it since its p101 related but when they showed that scene where he was teaching sungwoo/him that was it i got hooked, i got interested and now he’s here probably permanently

lee daehwi/brandnew music: my mushroom child, another trainee that fits the idol image!! he’s overflowing with talent, like singing, dancing, even composing!! sad to see his rank dropping tho

woo jinyoung/hf music: my current fave rapper out of all the trainees like he’s cute and chill but his talent is just wow please acknowledge this boy and his talent

kim yongguk/chun: i didn’t understand all the hype around him being a half-er but omg did this boy catch my attention in ep.6 with his talent, why didn’t i know of him before wtf

yoon jisung/mmo: this kid wouldn’t have made my top 11 if some of my faves didn’t get eliminated tbh but he has such a bright personality that its so hard to ignore him, also people should stop generalizing him as a meme and start recognizing his hard work

kim jaehwan/individual trainee: vocal god no.1, i’ve been on the lookout for him ever since the initial evaluation like he got me with that adele cover and just continues to amaze me with every performance

park woodam/the vibe label: vocal god no.2, being the svt stan that i am i was ready to go mad if any of them butchered mansae but this kid killed it like he’s actually this season’s parellel to yoo yunjeong, pls love this child

kim samuel/brave: okay lets be real i’m a hella hardcore carat ofc i’m gonna give love to this child, tbh the only reason he’s not in my top 11 is that it would be hypocritical of me (i don’t want debuted idols to be part of it) but this boy is a definite all rounder, from singing to dancing and even rapping!!

yoon heeseok/jellyfish: i didn’t expect anything from him but his call me baby cover performance was way beyond my expectations

kim taemin/han ahreum: okay tbh he only caught my attention bc of his re-eval video, our second meme but (based on ep.6) i feel like he has a lot of potential

yeo hwanwoong/rbw: i always see posts about him in the produce 101 tag (i religiously go through it every night don’t judge me) but he did such a good job at being center in ep.6 and just wow now i’m interested

lee euiwoong/yuehua: this cutie with a reversal body and voice?? to be very honest i stanned all of yuehua at the beginning but now he’s the only yuehua kid remaining sorry justin idk i think a part of me sees potential and talent in him

eliminated trainees that i was supporting:

kwon hyeop/maroo: same case with yuehua trainees tbh like i stanned the maroo kids since the beginning, its sad that one of them dropped and this kid got eliminated, he’s actually talented imo but mnet sucks at distributing screen time

I don’t really have a trusted writer. i’ll take what jenna said and say that writers can be pretty inconsistent. at least in dramas that’s the case. even though there have been writers who have written 2 or more dramas i really love, who knows when they’ll disappoint me?? its a weird “you never know” game. i think for director it’d have to be kim suk yoon (mwihaatw, awl), kim byung soo (bubblegum, qihm), lee yoon jung (coffee prince, h2h, citt) and kim won seok (misaeng, signal, monstar). i trust lee joon ik a lot (hope, dongju). & hirokazu koreeda (like father like son, after the storm) w/ both writing and directing anything lol

2. Your favourite actor or actress in a Permanently Supporting role? The people who always show up as cops, mothers-in-law, teachers/mentors, loan sharks, best friends, etc. Not glamorous enough to be leads but generally form the backbone of the non-leading cast?

i was on the fence with ex girlfriend club for awhile. i think it took me until the 5th/6th ep to genuinely love it?? same for h2h, i wasn't enjoying it at all until the end of ep4 and now i sing praises for it

8. Anything you genuinely enjoy about Kim Eun Sook dramas/writing?

honestly i’m stealing this from jenna again; she does have lots of great ideas but just doesn’t know how to execute them well. with goblin the idea was great, with interesting character premises but it just fell flat (at least for me) and she didn’t expand on any of the things she could have to make a truly interesting, impactful story (ex: sunny, deok hwa, their relationships w/ goblin!!, i feel like the Higher Power couldve been way more interesting esp since it took over deok hwa?? lee el’s character, the villain came in so late and he was actually pretty interesting & he could’ve been used more, etc). again this is my personal opinion.

but she does give you addicting, crack dramas so you gotta commend her for that. i admit i watched and waited for each ep of dots even though i don’t remember much of it now loll

9. A drama/actor/writer/PD you think is overrated

for drama i’ll say strong woman do bong soon? i mean i did genuinely enjoy watching it but i didn’t see any unique reason for why it was as popular as it was?? (also heirs!!! holy crap why)

for actor maybe lee min ho? lol i talked about this with my friend before and we were both really big fans when we first got into dramas but now we just don’t understand the hype at all haha.

10. A drama/actor/writer/PD you think is deeply underrated + deserves more love.

Dating Yan An

-Okay let’s do this chingudeul -So let’s say you’re friends with Yeoone and you, them and a few other people not worth naming meet up -The moment he saw you he got even more shy than usual and smiled cutely while introducing himself -and you’d smile back bc he was so cute omg -So he would steal glances at you throughout the meeting -but if you catch him he’ll smile shyly and look down -I am dying rn why am I doing this to myself ???? -and he would start smiling everytime you talk -And everyone would notice -You would probably notice -BUT HE WOULDN’T NOTICE -and then he and Changgu left and he would be like -“WHO WAS THAT MAGICAL FAIRY AND WHAT ARE THESE TINGLES IN MY TUMMY” -And that’s the story of how Yeo Changgu made Yan An fall in love for the first time -Once they arrived at the dorm Changgu would tell everyone -he probably would write it into the group chat too to make sure all the members knew -And Yan An would be like “Me?? Crush?? No what???” -But then a few days later Yeo One mentioned he is going ice skating with the same group as before -And Yan An’s eyes lit up and he asked if you’d be there too excitedly -And then he would tag along again and be all excited and giddy but the second he saw you -he went from 100 to 0 real quick -back to shy smiles and short answers -and then everyone would go onto the ice but he wasn’t that good -and you offered to help him -he would accept shyly -and then you take his hand to steady him -and that is not what he expected he just nodded bc it’s you -in his head he is like -Error 404 Yan An not found -and then suddenly a chaos started in his mind -“ARE WE MOVING TOO FAST??? ARE WE DATING NOW?? WHEN DO I PROPOSE?? WHAT ARE MY PARENTS GOING TO SAY???WHERE DO WE MARRY?????” -all this time you’d look at him from the outside just watching him malfunction -Because you then thought you made him too shy you would ask him if he’s okay with you holding his hand -And he would look at you for a few moments and then nod and smile -after the ice skating you all went for a hot chocolate and he would sit next to you and try to strike a conversation with you -but it would partially just be him slightly opening his mouth while looking at you but the words in his head didn’t connect right and he would just sip his drink instead -then on the way home he would tell Changgu every single smallest detail -And Changgu would just be like -”I-I know I was there too” -this could go on for a while just because he would need some time to get used to you and become more comfortable with you -he would end up asking for your number eventually and would text you regularly -and then he would hit you up one day and ask if you have time -and it’s like 8 pm already but whatever you agree to go out with him -and then the members tease him the entire ten minutes he is getting ready and tell him to finally confess to you -and then after you grabbed some food together you are just walking together in a comfortable silence and then he stops Walking and you stop and look at him -and he goes “Y/N I like you” -omg who saw that coming???? -You, you saw it coming -the only unexpected thing was the timing -but still you smile and pull him in for a hug and he hugs you back and doesn’t want to let go anymore -and then you say you like him too and he blushed so hard you could feel the heat radiating from his cheeks -and then he is like -“Are we dating now????” -and is looking at you excitedly -so you just smile and go “usually you take a girl on a few dates first but sure why not!!!” -and he is all shy smiles awwwwwwwww -a few months after you start dating he will probably ask if he hid his feelings for you well and you are just like -”uh well about that” -Okay skinship -Skinship WHO? -he would be so shy and unsure about everything at first -never completely sure of where to touch you -when to touch you -how to touch you -honestly in the beginning he is just learning and trying out so bear with him -but he will love cuddles because you can’t do much wrong here -and it is just him and you and laying around he would like that

 -he would also like giving you pecks! -random pecks especially -and he would be into making out -with you underneath -he is the secretly a wild kisser kind of type -he would also like you on his lap every now and then -but if you would move he would end up flipping you over -he gets jealous fairly easy and quick -he would then just become quite -and seem like a sad puppy -it would be easy to tell -and he would put and arm around you -or whine that you still have to go somewhere -and you just go with him -expect many kisses once you’re alone again -and things like -”You are my girlfriend why was he so friendly no one asked!” -it might lead to minor fights becaues he might get jealous of male friends that he really doesn’t need to worry about but he still does -bc you are his first relationship he doesn’t know yet -he does trust you though -a lot -soooo about the dates -he likes casual dates but -would still take you out somewhere fancy every now and then -and he likes spontaneous dates -he would call you and just be like -”Hey I’ll pick you up at nine we’re going to the cinema” -and you’ll look at the time and it’s 8.24, you’re in your PJ’s with no makeup and greasy hair -he seems like the type of guy who would compliment you non stop -like you could be sitting on the living room floor together eating pizza and he goes -”Wow you are so beautiful” -while you have your mouth stuffed to the max and you just look at him like -”Are you trolling me?” -No he really meant it -He would often tell you about China -I feel like mostly at night though -when u two are showered and cuddeled up against each other -and you would talk for hours -until one of you falls asleep -If you ever wanted a dog -just get a Yanan instead -feed him three times daily, take him out regularly -scratch his tummy -he would ask you for massages once in a while -he would whine to you actually -“Y/N my back hurts sooooo much” -“Please massage it!!” -“Can you pretty pretty please massage my back it aches so much” -but as much as he is the whiny puppy in the relationship here -if you were ever down and needed him he would become serious -or if someone would ever upset you he would go from puppy to wolf mode real quick -Overall a relationship with Yanan should be on everyones wishlist.
