Don’t mind me, just thinking of a universe where older versions of Sanji and Usopp live together in a port town by the sea and with a huge plot of land.
They’ve got a farm with plentiful crops that Usopp maintains, providing his partner with some of the ingredients he needs to fill the bellies of the townspeople. There’s a garden and greenhouse where he grows flourishing flora and fauna to present to Sanji just because he loves him. Where he grows plants deadly enough to take down entire towns.
The couple have plenty of space for all of their pets and animal friends to run around. They’ve got dogs herding sheep, cats napping on the porch, other farm animals grazing outside and hanging out in the barn. A place for their and reptiles, a pond for their amphibians and fish. Bugs, in the forest behind their property. Far away from Sanji.
They have beautiful, happy daughters who, to them, are perfect in every way. Daughters who possess qualities similar and different to themselves. Daughters who are a product of their love and devotion to each other, to them.
They protect, feed, entertain, and nurture the town. In return, they are provided with love and laughter, comfort and advice. They love freely and are loved in return.
Sometimes, they hear the familiar call of the sea and they follow its voice. They pack up their daughters and their things, boarding the ship specially crafted for them by an old friend. They entrust their land and animals to their friends, who wave them off with smiles and tears, already eager for them to return with brand-new tales of their journeys.
They set off on another adventure, new and familiar as they bring their daughters to places that the two of them had dreamt of when they were young. Their family goes to lands of brave warriors whose courage is only surmounted by their towering heights. They visit a sea that houses all of the marine life the world has to offer, its waters coloured all shades of blue.
The path is as it has always been—terrifyingly exhilarating but always, always worth it.
They get through it as they always have—together, doing what the other cannot. Trusting and encouraging each other, working together to ensure they return back home to their town and everyone waiting for them.
They are pirates, happy and free.
They are a family, loving and devoted.
They are partners, just as they’ve always been.
They are together, just as they are meant to be.

Can you share your favorite fun facts about the blorbos?
Oh man, it's really hard to choose! I've got quite a few little niche facts about the Links!! So I'll just list one for each Link 🫶🏽 Hopefully I'll do it in alphabetical order </3
Artisan still lives with the Tailor's family! They work under her apprenticeship, rather than her husband, and they're much happier as a tailor than they were as a blacksmith. (actually also adding that Artisan keeps in contact with the other heroes from Triforce Heroes :D they're Crimson and Sapphire!
Engie is really big into herpatology on the side. His first love is definitely trains (and Zelda, I guess) but he loves picking up injured reptiles that he sees and nursing them back to health! His favourite type of reptile is a snake and he loves rainbow boas :D
Eras actually really enjoys cooking. Before being enlisted into the Hyrulean army, he wanted to be a chef. Being a hero swept him up and he's been too ensnared by court theatre to ever even think about his dreams a chef. He can still cook up a mean pumpkin soup though.
Faye has far more tattoos than meets the eye--and yes, those...tend to bleed too. Their blood has a strange blue tint to it that translates through their scars too. (side bar but I do actually have a diagram with the tattoos so I'm adding that too)
Tumblr media
Feathers has a loftwing named Azul. He thinks he's very smart and funny for naming the Red Loftwing a shade of blue.
Green, in Minish's system, is incredibly paranoid. He's a huge motherhen and very protective of his system, and they constantly keep a moon pearl attached to their necklace. Just in case! They also keep a mysterious shell on their necklace as well...for luck.
Due to excessive magic use as a kid, Mirror suffers through severe chronic pain. He has a cane in his bag for days when flare ups are so bad he could barely walk. That doesn't stop him from continuing to use magic, he just has to use it very sparingly.
Tune lives full time in Tetra's crew. He values her expertise and knowledge and respects her more than anyone--besides his grandmother, of course. He's adamant that she's the strongest (and coolest) person he knows. (also, since I couldn't pick which fact I wanted to write, I'm adding that he is OBSESSED with cats. The Ship cats practically own him
Kind of a random detail in my AU, but Agitha is the one who helped Rancher realise she's a girl and helped her be confident in her body! They collect bugs together and Rancher definitely doesn't know a lot about them, but she LOVES hearing Agitha infodump about them.
Wild is a lone wolf by design. It's not like he intends to be that way, but he just. Always feels like a passive observer of his own life and accidentally drifts away from groups without realising it. Because of it, he can blend into the background very well.
Zonau has not talked to someone in literal decades. He isolated himself to do the goddesses know what, and kind of sucks at socialising as a result. It's just super out of practise. It's a little bit of a hermit crab.
Oh!! and I also have. playlists that I'm making for my Links too :D but I'll add those when I'm actually finished them </3

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you!
I first saw your centipede posts months ago and was enthralled with these little guys off the bat. After a ton to research on all things centipede and the encouragement of a close friend, I decided to get my first centipede about a month ago and so far it going great! I absolutely love him/her/them with all my heart and am constantly fascinated with their behavior and habits.
I also work in veterinary medicine as a licensed technician (and am in school working on my undergrad degree to hopefully become a doctor of veterinary medicine someday) and would love to be able to one day provide care for more exotic animals including invertebrates. Thank you for igniting a passion for learning more about inverts. ❤️🪲🪱🦂🦗
Tumblr media
while I’m happy that you did your research, bought a captive bred (or at least CH) specimen, and enjoy your centipede (which is more than most people do) this still made me a bit sad to hear because I don’t want my posts to encourage keeping centipedes without breeding them.
I don’t mean to single you out specifically, especially since you seem like a very responsible keeper, so speaking in general to everybody I really wish more centipedes were captive bred, and that includes breeding specimens which are themselves CBB. I see this a lot with the biggest, fanciest, rarest mantises, amblypygi, and centipedes: wild or first generation CBB end up being single “trophy pets” that are not bred (either keeper can’t find more, or isn’t interested) and therefore just take away from the hobby rather than adding to a stable captive population.
in the case of South American giant Scolopendra like your galapagoensis, captive breeding can be serious because they have very short lifespans: about ~5 years is what I hear from other keepers, and females have only one large clutch in their lives because she dies for her offspring to consume. fortunately their size, rarity, and the beefy price tag that accompanies those traits make them a species breeders are willing to produce these days, but even then there can’t be more than a handful of breeding adults with a fairly limited gene pool.
it’s probably even worse for species like S. polymorpha and S. dehaani which are only wild caught and almost never intentionally captive bred. these are the “cheap” centipedes in the US, with polys being caught in the southwest deserts and dehaani being imported in bulk from Vietnam. these are the species novice keepers get, and never breed, and that continues to fuel demand for collection. there isn’t any data on how collection impacts wild populations but in my opinion collection is never necessary when captive breeding is possible (even if it can be tedious in centipedes).
anyway, I hope I did not come off as attacking you—you are more responsible than most, and I’m sure your centipede will have a good life. but I feel very guilty when I hear “I love your posts so I got myself a centipede!” because that centipede is so rarely captive bred, and even if it is, it probably won’t ever get to contribute diversity to the captive population.
I’d started keeping Scolopendra myself with the intent to breed and support captive populations, and a combination of naivety and bad luck meant almost all of my centipede projects failed. I have no plans to breed centipedes for at least several more years. a majority of the videos I post are fairly old, and I only have a handful of centipedes remaining. I often wonder if I should just stop posting about anything scolo-related because I don’t really want to inspire others to keep centipedes if they’re not going to breed them. I do not think this is exaggeration or “gatekeeping” because not breeding animals is how they become imperiled in the wild and extinct in captivity at the same time (many tarantulas and reptiles have experienced this). to me, indirectly supporting that outweighs what I’m actually trying to do—inspire people to stop being scared and enjoy arthropods, in captivity or in the wild.
anyway, I’m sorry to write all of this up under your ask but I’m not sure where else it makes sense to say. good luck with your galap & I hope its next molt goes well

Another scene that wouldn’t leave my brain alone. And I want to pad my word count before 2022 is over so I’m trying to write all the things while December is still going.

Behind the Yellow Line
Mona Lisa looked up from her computer when she realized her house had gone suspiciously quiet. Her mothering instincts told her she should check on the family. With a stretch, she stood and walked out of her office. In the main living room she found Leonardo passed out on the couch in an awkward position. The streaming service on the TV asked if he was still watching. The twins were nowhere to be found.
That was odd. Normally, her Energizer Bunny of a boyfriend could keep up with their two boys. On the rare days they wore even him out, her sons would come get her. After navigating Leonardo into a more comfortable position and placing a blanket over his slumbering body, she continued her search for her children.
She found the two three-year-olds sitting outside Donatello's workshop, each quietly holding a hardcover picture book. Waiting.
“What are you two up to?” she asked pleasantly.
“Waiting for Dad,” DJ said simply.
“Read us stories,” LJ added happily.
Her normally boisterous boys seemed completely content to sit quietly outside the lab, though Mona wasn't happy about what she found. Why would Donatello just leave his sons out here alone while he ignored them?
“Does he know you're out here?” she asked.
They both shrugged.
“Did you tell him you're here?”
“Dad says we can't go in,” DJ said.
“I see. Give me a minute to talk to him.”
She walked into the lab to find Donatello, as usual, surrounded by a plethora of gadgets while he was working on a particularly large piece of machinery with a blow torch. Mona stood behind him as he worked. He had no idea she had entered until she loudly cleared her throat.
At the sound, Donatello's head curiously shot up. Goggles on, he looked even more alien as he glanced from one side to the other, then behind him.
“Oh, hey.”
She moved up next to him. “Did you know your sons have been waiting outside for you?”
He balked and looked toward the doorway. Then he raised his goggles, looked at her in confusion and then back at the door. “For me?”
Tumblr media
This was something new. Usually, he was the odd man out when it came to parenting. As the stay at home dad, Leonardo was the first one the kids went to if they wanted anything. Next, they would go to their mother. Those two were usually enough to satisfy whatever they needed.
“I didn't know they were out there.”
“They said you told them they couldn't come in.”
“Right. It's dangerous in here. They shouldn't ever just walk in.” He paused, still in confusion over the unexpected situation. “Why are they waiting for me?”
She smiled. “They want you to read to them.”
His eyes widened. “They do?”
Donatello immediately shed all his protective gear and swept out of the room with a, “Who wants stories?”
A collection of cheers and happy chirps was his answer. As he gathered his children, he looked at their book selections and frowned. These weren't educational at all. But then he saw Mona watching him from the doorway.
“A bit rudimentary on your choices, my boys, but we can make it work.”
As he carried them off and settled in one of their beds, Donatello decided the book choices didn't matter. His sons were curled up in his lap, enthralled with each word he spoke. Mona came in as he was reading and climbed in bed, too. Snuggled against his side, her chin on his shoulder, she was the first one to fall asleep. By the end of the second book, he had three slumbering reptiles curled up around him. Not a bad way to end a day.
While not tired, he was content to remain where he was for a while. His hands couldn't be busy at the moment, but his mind always was. And it had a problem to solve: that of his sons and the lab.
*************
The next evening, Mona removed her headphones after a late-night zoom call with yokai and mutants advocacy group. There were members—mostly of the yokai variety—from all over the globe, so the meetings were often held at odd times.
She had been on meeting calls and sending e-mails all day. Her back was stiff and she was hungry. After snacking in the kitchen, she wandered into the living room to find Leonardo watching TV alone. She leaned over the back of the couch, hugging him around the neck.
“Where's the kids?”
He put a hand on her arm and leaned his temple to her check without breaking eye contact with the TV. “I dunno. Donnie has them.”
“That was nice of him. I'm going to go see what they're up to.”
She kissed Leonardo's temple before she went, but that was apparently enough to earn all his attention. He caught her arm and pulled her back.
“Hey, you can at least give me a little more of that before you leave.”
She bent over the couch and kissed him with a grin. But Leonardo still wasn't satisfied as he pulled her whole body over the back of the couch. She fell on him, giggling, and they shared a few more kisses.
“I bet we could steal a quickie in the bedroom if we go right now,” he murmured to her.
He really was an Energizer Bunny in a turtle's body, but Mona merely kissed his nose and moved off him.
“Let me check on the boys first, then we'll see about that.”
Leonardo sighed. “Alright. You know where to find me.”
Her hand lingered affectionately in his before she moved on down the hall. This time, there were no toddlers lurking outside the workshop. Within came the sounds of happy chatter. She poked her head in the find a different room than the night before.
Everything in the lab had been pushed back. It left far less room for Donatello to work, but made space for a few feet of open area near the door and the newly-painted bright yellow line on the floor. Planted firmly behind it were LJ and DJ, playing with connectable building toys that were probably a little more advanced than their age, but they seemed happy enough.
Nearby, Donatello had pulled a work table close to them and was currently fiddling with his own project. He nodded along as the twins chatted at him. Sometimes it was in English, sometimes it was chirps and their own version of twin speak, but he continued nodding like he understood it all. Then he glanced down and pointed a toe at the tower DJ was building.
“Son, you need to fortify your base. You have to make the foundation sturdy if you want to build that any higher.”
Mona couldn't help but smile. Donatello always spoke to his sons like they were tiny adults. Even when all they could speak was reptile chirps and baby gibberish. He was never one for baby talk and there was something endearing about that.
She leaned against the frame, watching unnoticed. She knew Donatello felt the most disconnected from the kids and it wasn't always his fault with the nature of his work schedule. She was proud of him for jumping on this opportunity when it presented itself.
After a while, Leonardo joined her at the door. He watched with a smile and then leaned in to whisper in her ear. “Just give me five minutes.”
She smirked at him and whispered back. “With you, it's never just five minutes.”
“Mm, you can put that on my five-star Yelp review,” he murmured into her hair.
“Oh, you'll be three and a half stars at most.”
He snickered into her neck before pulling her away by the hand. “We'll see about that.”

Could Vitus Beat the MK1 roster? (plus a few others) based on my limited knowledge
Im copy-pasting this from my google docs and i don't know why I'm posting this here, but i am. Based on a Konvo between my friends and I on discord. Long Post incoming
Liu Kang- LMAO NO
Liu Kang (MK-Mk11)- No (legally maybe but he's the protag so no)
Sub-Zero- Bi-Han gets treated like the Noob he is, this Saibot tho gets the Angie Treatment and keeps his Ice powers.
Scorpion- Kuai Liang? Bye Liang.
Kitana- Yes probably but I wish he couldn't...
Johnny Cage- No (Legally Yes, unfortunately)
Kenshi- Yeah, unfortunately
Kung Lao- Hats off to Kung Lao. Literally. Vitus knocked his hat off and won.
Mileena- another unfortunate yes. GET TARKAT THOUGH IDIOT!
Raiden (mk1)- He may have gotten Liu-Kang's protag position but right now the answer is yes. Not without lightning burns tho.
Raiden (mk-mk11)- Not Sure actually, unlike God Liu this Raiden isn't the keeper of time so it's a possibility. I am leaning No tho.
Rain- Vitus makes Rain's actions in Seido look like he just made a swimming pool.
Smoke- This Thomas :handshake: Thomas Sr. Getting obliterated by Vitus
Li Mei- Probably? I don't know enough about her.
Baraka- GET TARKAT IDIOT. But unfortunately yes.
Tanya- Same problem as Li-Mei
Gearas- LMAO NO
Reptile- Syzoth deserves better, but unfortunately yes...
Havik- let's see you Out-Heal Oblivion wing, bitch.
Ashrah- Absolution denied. Also Possible Angie treatment.
Sindel- He'd lose his ear drums but probably would take it in the end.
General Shao- Again, Vitus was likely a warrior King, in reality, they'd probably work together, but the answer is yes. Not an easy fight tho, I'd imagine.
Shao Khan- See above but Vitus would likely have more broken bones and it's a possible No actually.
Reiko- We now know who hurt Reiko.
Nitara- *bored voice work* yes.
Shang Tsung- I'm more afraid of the team-up, but yes.
Titan Shang Tsung- Legally no for the same reason as God Liu, but we have to get Marcus somehow so yes (I'll stop with the joke if it gets old, Strike)
Omni-Man- No. Legally, however, it’s a possibility, because Vitus IS Death, it'd just be a matter of who could kill the other faster.
Cronchy (Quan Chi)- HA. HA. The idea of Quan Chi having even the SLIGHTEST chance of beating Vitus is HILARIOUS. Vitus bodies, hands down.
Peacemaker- I know nothing about him other than he is played by John Cena, and as much as that part alone makes me want to say no, Vitus could not win, I'm going to have to say yes because Death. Now this might change depending on what I learn about Peacemaker.
Ermac- Part of me wants to say yes because Ermac is a collective of Souls, another part of me isn't sure because Ermac is already dead. I'm gonna go with Yes though because I'm not sure how skilled at Kombat Ermac actually is.
Homelander- Yes. I do not care HOW strong Homelander is, if I get asked “Could X beat Homelander?” the answer is always yes. Jokes aside, the answer is yes, Vitus could, in fact, Beat Homelander. Future DLC Characters MAY be added as they are announced and if I feel like it.

Akshaya’s lore and relationships:
OC’s Lore Summary:
Born from a snake beastwoman mother and a human father, she has traits from both, which has made her socialisation difficult. She’s too much of a snakefolk for the humans and too much of a human for the snakefolk, so she was always rejected by both.
She ended up alone most of her childhood, barely having anyone to play with her, aside from some of the kids at her school who would let her join sometimes, but not treating her too well.
Even with all that, she was never truly alone. Since she was really small she was with her familiar. A snake that bonded to her and who shares her life and magic with her. Since their life forces are connected, he ages at the same rate as she does and, if one is hurt, the other feels it and vice-versa. They also can easily communicate, he speaks in a really low voice, but since he’s always close to he,r she can still hear. Others might be able to understand him too, but he usually stays hidden inside her clothes and not letting anyone else see him unless it’s necessary or it’s night time (when he’s most active).
They both take decisions together most of the time, or he’ll give advice to Akshaya as a sort of “conscience” when she’s gonna make a bad decision. She usually listens to him and tries to do as he says… if she can bring herself to do it.
After such an isolated life, she ended up receiving an invitation to attend NRC. No one was really surprised since her magic is quite strong and she’s good at controlling it. She had a lot of anxiety about joining, though. After her isolation she ended up being really shy and socially anxious, so going away from her family, not knowing anyone and also in a school famous for their strong willed people?? Really scary! But she still decided to go to improve herself. It’s a really unique opportunity, after all!
Relationships:
She was already anxious about joining NRC but when she’s placed in Savanaclaw she feels really exposed and vulnerable. She desperately looks for someone to latch onto and protect her.
She ends up latching to Jack, who doesn’t judge her from her appearance and her skittish nature. She usually only wants to help him and have some company, so he lets her.
She feels a weird bond with Jamil and tries to get closer to him and be his “apprentice”. He ends up letting her do as she wants since she also tries to help him and it’s not so bad.
When she heard people saying that the new 1st year over at Ramshackle also had a familiar, she was so happy thinking there was someone else like her and she could be friends with them, maybe!! So she went to find them. After realising Grim is not a familiar at all she was really bummed. But Yuuki (my MC) was still nice to her and they ended up being friends anyway.
She joined the Gargoyle Club because it seemed really peaceful and stress free. And also, because Malleus is such a strong mage, if she gained his favour she’d be safe, right?? And she feels a bit of a kinship with both being “reptile” in a way (dragon and snake). He’s just so happy that someone joined his club that he keeps info dumping about gargoyles to her at all the meetings. She doesn’t mind, finds it interesting and feels safe with him soon after. She spends most of the time sitting in a corner doing cross-stitching as she listens to him. So it counts as a “gargoyle club activity”, she cross stitches gargoyles. When Malleus saw it the first time he was really impressed and praised her a lot, so she gave it to him and made him unbelievably happy. So now she keeps making those, and once they’re done she gives them to Malleus. His collection keeps growing.
More relationships might be added in the future. You can also ask if you're curious about anyone in particular~

I always say I come from a zoo family, pretty much all of us work or have worked at the zoo, I say I basically spent my childhood there. It made me want to visit like every zoo and like just compare them. San Diego was definitely a bucket list one for me cause it's like the best rated zoo in the country. Well deserved though cause their zoo is insane. We got there right when they opened (I think 9am) and didn't leave until after 3. The only zoo higher on my bucket list is Australia zoo.
That quote and "I can fix that" live rent free in my mind. The only movie I probably reference or think about more is Dodgeball (and SpongeBob). I didn't realize they were bearded dragons until I got one for myself (his name was Bob) and then watched the movie again and I was like wait a minute...
I don't know. An old friend had a lizard and I said if I ever got one, I would name it Bob (which I did) and then I said if I got a lizard, I'd name it Philip. I just like naming reptiles' normal human names. Also, Phillip has probably lived in the back of my mind since reading the Kane Chronicles because I believe there's a crocodile named Phillip and the name just stuck with me.
That print was just announced today and I didn't hear about it until a buddy in discord told me. It's funny because I said the EXACT same thing to him. I was literally stressing how bad I needed to save money last night and how I was basically going to get autographs at my planned cons and nothing else, almost zero spending money but this was TLOU so it was always the exception.
Your childhood sounds like it was pretty entertaining then!!! Your family sounds like the American version of the Irwin family! I just googled the San Diego zoo, and that map is huge 😭 I understand why you would spend all day there
I haven’t seen Dodgeball, but I need to. My dad loves that movie
I love that you give your reptiles human names; it gives them more character. Bob and Phillip are peak human names too!
TLOU is single-handedly running the economy at this point. They just keep on adding all kinds of collection stuff that you can’t pass up; and I love that for them. I have also been stressing about money, but TLOU can have my entire paycheck

The Bad Guys (my version) - Epilogue (chapter 16)
First Previous "Sequel special" The Bad Guys: New Beginnings, New Normal "Sequel series" The Bad Guys season 1: Our Own Story chapter 1
*One year later...*
At the prison entrance, Wolf and Snake were turning in their jumpsuits and collecting the last bit of their regular clothing. Due to exhibiting good behavior, their sentence got reduced, and the Bad Guys only spent a year in jail, and we're now finally free.
Meanwhile, while collecting their respective jacket/hat, Wolf was talking to Snake, "Okay, so imagine it's your birthday."
"It is my birthday," replied Snake.
As they both gave the officer in the booth their jumpsuits, Snake grabbed his hat and placed it on his head while Wolf, who was carrying his jacket, commented, "Yeah, I know. So, but we're walking along and you meet a genie.
Snake asked in reply, "Okay, what's his name?"
"What's the genie's name?" Wolf asked back.
"Yeah, I want to know who I'm talking to," replied Snake.
Wolf replied, thinking off the top of his head, "I don't know, Genie or Gene for short. So he offers you three wishes."
A male officer gave Snake a thumbs up, which the reptile saw.
"Why three?" Snaked asked while turning back at Wolf.
Wolf answered again, "You know, industry standard. Now, what do you wish for?
Snake started to think, "Uh..."
"Good luck out there, guys," a passing police officer commented as he walked by them.
"I'm gonna go with nothing," he said, replying with a smile.
Wolf chuckled, mentioning while nudging Snake, "Nothing? Come on, it's your birthday."
Two officers that greeted them at the door pretended to act surprised before they smiled and gave a "good luck out there" gesture to them.
Passing through the doors with Wolf, Snake commented, "All right, but what do I need wishes for? I got my freedom."
Shark, Piranha, and Tarantula, who were already dressed in their regular attire, greeted both boys at the front door.
"Hey," commented Tarantula, who was hanging on the door before crawling onto the floor.
"Guys," greeted Shark.
"Finally, we've been waiting," Hornet smirked
"Looking good, hermanos," complimented Piranha as they all started to walk over to the jail entrance doors.
"I got my friends" added Snake, who was continuing his answer to Wolf's comment.
"Aw," said Tarantula, who appreciated the comment.
Snake continued, "I got the skin of a reptile half my age."
Shark replied, "I don't know about half your age, but you do look good."
"Well, that's because you just molted," Wolf mentioned.
"Yes, I did," Snake answered happily.
"That's part of the snake biology. Everyone should know that's the best part," Hornet mentioned
"You smell good, too," added Shark.
Snake complimented himself, saying as all 6 Bad Guys exited through the doors before the doors closed behind them, "I'm shiny; I'm gorgeous."
They all laughed happily, embracing the first bit of their new freedom, before looking both ways across the road in front of them, feeling unsure of what to do next.
Tarantula broke the silence, "Uh, so what do we do now?"
"Steal a car," suggested Piranha.
Everyone immediately turned their heads, giving a "really" glare at him while Wolf commented, "Piranha!"
Piranha quickly replied, "I was joking. It was a joke."
"You know, I kinda like his suggestion," Hornet admitted sarcastically.
Snake then got an idea, "You know, on second thought, Wolf, maybe I'd, uh, wish for a ride."
Wolf smiled and answered, "Oh, yeah? Alakazam," he snapped his fingers.
On cue, Diane approached them, driving a new car that looked like Wolf's old car, but without a rooftop, and it had two gold stripes in the middle of the front hood. It screeched to a halt in front of the Bad Guys, who all chuckled happily while feeling relieved that there wasn't a long walk home in their favor.
"Nice," commented Wolf, who liked how the car looked.
Diane stood up and greeted them with, "Hey, guys. Ready to get to work?"
But Hornet was the only one who wasn't satisfied with Diane's appearance when she fetched them up, "Oh, it's you," he then looked away while crossing his arms, and mumbled, "I'm expecting someone else."
The kitten was also with her as it stood on the edge of the car and meowed cutely, leaping into Wolf's arms and purring.
Wolf snuggled the kitten while saying, "Hey. Whoa," he made sure it didn't fall or slip out.
Tarantula thought Wolf and the kitten looked adorable together, "Aw."
Soon, all eight of them (The Bad Guys, Diane, and the kitten, who now had his own pair of sunglasses) were in the car, ready to head back to Los Angeles, and Wolf was more than happy to drive.
Before Wolf started to drive, he turned his head and faced the fourth wall, "Hey, you. That's right. Come here. Little closer. I said closer," he added with a little more intimidation, bringing it closer.
He then smiled and commented, "Now that we've had some time to get acquainted, uh, not so scary now, are we?"
He placed on his signature sunglasses, telling Tarantula, "Webs, hit it!"
Tarantula pressed play on her MP3 player and started to play a song as the rest of the Bad Guys, and Diane, placed sunglasses on, hopped their heads to the beat of the song, and all laughed together as Wolf drove down the road, off towards the route that would take them back to where they belonged.
Of course, let's just say that things were definitely not gonna be the same the minute they get home. And the story of the Bad Guys isn't over; it's just the beginning.

Finally, I finished my version of the Bad Guys movie. I hope you really like it. Special thanks to MasterClass60 and TU4QU0I53T4IAN6L3 for being my co-authors and helping me with this story. I couldn't have made this story without them
Okay, so I have a big announcement, and this might be a surprise to you... I will post another story of the Bad Guys that took place after The Bad Guys: New Beginnings, New Normal. My next story of the Bad Guys would be similar to the concept of how I made my other stories, and that said, the next story would be The Bad Guys: season 1, where every chapter contained one story, like episodes in a TV series. In season 1, the Bad Guys continued their adventure after they turned in a new leaf, and, at the same time, continued their criminal life. There will also be some flashbacks before the events of the movie, which means the story will explore more about my OC, Mr. Hornet, and his past. Some of you wondered why he has those PTSDs and his fear of becoming good again would make him think he would be alone again... well, you'll get your answers in the next story.
Though the story was announced, I won't post it soon. I will be taking a break in the meantime so I can be ready when I will post it, but it will be later this year.
In the meantime, I hope you'll keep supporting me and my stories and of course, my future stories of the Bad Guys. You'll never know what I stored for these amazing sixsome! See you real soon!

On the topic of Star Wars, I really recommend the Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matthew Stover, it's amazing.
Here's one of my favorite passages in the book:
This is Obi-Wan Kenobi in the light:
As he is prodded onto the bridge along with Anakin and Chancellor Palpatine, he has no need to look around to see the banks of control consoles tended by terrified Neimoidians. He doesn't need to turn his head to count the droidekas and super battle droids, or to gauge the positions of the brutal droid bodyguards. He doesn't bother to raise his eyes to meet the cold yellow stare fixed on him through a skull-mask of armorplast.
He doesn't even need to reach into the Force.
He has already let the Force reach into him.
The Force flows over him and around him as though he has stepped into a crystal-pure waterfall lost in the green coils of a forgotten rain forest; when he opens himself to heat sparkling stream it flows into him and through him and out again without the slightest interference from his conscious will. The part of him that calls itself Obi-Wan Kenobi is no more than a ripple, an eddy in the pool into which he endlessly pours.
There are other parts of him here, as well; there is nothing here that is not a part of him, from the scuff mark on R2-D2's dome to the tattered hem of Palpatine's robe, from the spidering crack in one transparisteel panel of the curving view wall above to the great starships that still battle beyond it.
Because this is all part of the Force.
Somehow, mysteriously, the cloud that has darkened the Force for near to decade and half has lightened around him now, and he finds within himself the limped clarity he recalls from his schooldays at the Jedi Temple, when the Force was pure, and clean, and perfect. It is as though the darkness has withdrawn, has coiled back upon itself, to allow him this moment of clarity, to return to him the full power of the light, if only for the moment; he does not know why, but he is incapable of even wondering. In the Force, he is beyond questions.
Why is meaningless; it is an echo of the past, or a whisper from the future. All that matters, for this infinite now, is what, and where, and who.
He is all sixteen of the super battle droids, gleaming in laser-reflective chrome, arms loaded with heavy blasters. He is those blasters and he is their targets. He is all eight destroyer droids waiting with electronic patience within their energy shields, and both bodyguards, and every single one of the shivering Neimoidians. He is their cloths, their boots, even each drop of reptile-scented moisture that rolls off them from the misting sprays they use to keep their internal temperatures down. He is the binders that cuff his hands, and he is the electrostaff in the hands of the bodyguard at his back.
He is both of the lightsabers that the other droid bodyguard marches forward to offer to General Grievious.
And he is the general himself.
He is the general's duranium ribs. He is the beating of Grievious's alien heart, and is the silent pulse of oxygen pumped through his alien veins. He is the weight of four lightsabers at the general's belt, and is the greedy anticipation the captured weapons sparked behind the general's eyes. He is even the plan for his own execution simmering within the general's brain.
He is all of these things, but most important, he is still Obi-Wan Kenobi.
This is why he can simply stand. Why he can simply wait. He has no need to attack, or to defend. There will be battle here, but he is perfectly at ease, perfectly content to let the battle start when it will start, and let it end when it will end.
Just as he will let himself live, or let himself die.
This is how a great Jedi makes war.
General Grievious lifted the two lightsabers, one in each duranium hand, to admire them by the light of turbolaser blasts outside, and said, "Rare trophies, these: the weapon of Anakin Skywalker, and the weapon of General Kenobi. I look forward to adding them to my collection."
"That will not happen. I am in control here." The reply through Obi-Wan's lips, but it was not truly Obi-Wan who spoke. Obi-Wan was not in control; he had no need for control. He had the Force.
It was the Force that spoke through him. Grievious stalked forward. Obi-Wan saw death in the cold yellow stare through the skull-mask's eyeholes, and it meant nothing to him at all.
There was no death. There was only the Force. He didn't have to tell Anakin to subtly nudle Chancellor Palpatine out of the line of fire; part of him was Anakin, and was doing this already. He didn't have to tell R2-D2 to access its combat subprograms and divert power to its booster rockets, claw-arm, and cable gun; part of him that was the little astromech has seen to all of these things before they had even entered the bridge.
Grievious towered over him. "So confident you are, Kenobi."
"Not confident, merely calm." From so close, Obi-Wan could see the hairline cracks and pitting in the bone-pale mask and could feel the resonance of the general's electrosonic voice humming in his chest. He remembered the question of Master Jrul: What is the good, if not the teacher of the bad? What is the bad if not the task of the good?
He said. "We can resolve this situation without further violence. I am willing to accept your surrender."
"I'm sure you are." The skull-mask tilted inquisitively. "Does this preposterous I-will-accept-your-surrender line of yours ever actually work?"
"Sometimes. When it doesn't, people get hurt. Sometimes they die." Obi-Wan's blue-gray eyes met squarely those of yellow behind the mask. "By people, in this case, you should understand that I mean you."
"I understand enough. I understand that I will kill you." Grievious threw back his cloak and ignited both lightsabers. "Here. Now. With your own blade"
The Force replied through Obi-Wan's lips. "I don't think so."
The electrodrivers that powered Grievious's limbs could move faster than the human eye can see; when he swung his arm, it and his fist and the lightsaber within it would literally vanish: wiped from existence by sheer mind-numbing speed, an imitation quantum event. No human being could move remotely as fast Grievious, not even Obi-Wan-- but he didn't have to.
In the Force, part of him was Grievious's intent to slaughter, and the surge from intent to action translated to Obi-Wan's response without thought. He had no need for a plan, no use for tactics.
He had the Force.
That sparkling waterfall coursed through him, washing away any thought of danger, or safety, of winning or losing. The Force, like water, takes on the shape of its container without effort, without thought. The water that was Obi-Wan poured itself into the container that was Grievious's attack, and while some materials might be water-tight, Obi-Wan had yet to encounter any that were entire, as it were, Force-tight...
While the intent to swing was still forming in Grievious's mind, the part of the Force that was Obi-Wan was also part of the Force that was R2-D2, as well as an internal fusion-welder Anakin had retrofitted into R2-D2's primary grappling arm, and so there was no need for actual communication between them; it was only Obi-Wan's personal sense of style that brought his customary gentle smile to his face and his customary gentle murmur to his lips. "Artoo?"
Even as he opened his mouth, a panel was sliding aside in the little droid's fuselage; by the time the droid's nickname had left his lips, the fusion-welder had deployed and fired a blinding spray of sparks hot enough to melt duranium, and in the quarter of a second while even Grievous's electronically enhanced reflexes had him startled and distracted, the part of the Force that was Obi-Wan tried a little trick, a secret one that it had been saving up for just such an occasion as this.
Because all there on the bridge was one in the Force, from the gross structure of the ship itself to the quantum dance of the electron shell so individual atoms--and because, after all, the nerves and muscle of the bio-droid general were creations of electronics and duranium, not living tissue with a will of its own-- it was just barely possible that with exactly the right twist of his mind, in that one vulnerable quarter of a second while Grievous was distracted, flinching backward from a spray of flame hot enough to burn even his armored body, Obi-Wan might be able to temporarily reverse the polarity of the electrodrivers in the general's mechanical hands.
Which is exactly what he did.
Durasteel fingers sprang open, and two lightsabers fell free.
He reached through the Force and the Force reached through him, his blade flared to life while still in the air, it flipped toward him, and as he lifted his hands to meet it, its blue flame flashed between his wrists and severed the binds before the handgrip smacked solidly into his palm.
He made a quarter of a turn to face Anakin, who was already in the air, having leaped simultaneously with Obi-Wan's gentle murmur because Obi-Wan and Anakin were, after all, two parts of the same thing; Anakin's flip carried him over Obi-Wan's head at the perfect range for Obi-Wan's blade to flick out and burn through his partner's binders, and while Grievous was still flinching away from the fountain of fusion fire, Anakin landed with his own hand extended; Obi-Wan felt a liquid surge in the waterfall that he was, and Anakin's lightsaber sang through the air and Anakin caught it, and so, one single second after Grievous had begun to summon the intent to swing, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker stood back-to-back in the center of the bridge, expressionlessly staring past the snarling blue of energy of their lightsabers.
Obi-Wan regarded with general without emotion. "Perhaps you should reconsider my offer."
THE FACT THAT NOT EVERYONE HAS READ THE NOVELS IS!!!! I LOVE THIS THANK YOU

seven sentence sunday
@sibylsleaves tagged me and uuhhhh i literally cannot count seven sentences i don't know i can't read
-
“Diazes!” Buck bursts through the front door so forcefully the handle smacks into the hallway door. Even from the kitchen, Eddie and Christopher hear a quiet, “Oops.”
Christopher laughs. “Buck!”
Buck bounces into the kitchen, leans over to ruffle Christopher’s hair and then curl an arm around to pinch some Fruit Loops. He throws them up and then fails to catch a single one in his mouth – one smears milk across the bulb of his chin before hitting the ground, and Eddie thinks he deserves legal reparations for the sight.
Luckily, Christopher finds the whole thing hilarious. “You never catch them!” he accuses.
“I do too! You only notice the ones that miss.” Buck pretends to chew on the ones that apparently did land on his mouth, before landing into the spare kitchen chair. “You ready for the zoo?”
Christopher nods, and then, predictably, launches into the latest information about the latest animal facts he has memorised. He’s been stuck on alligators ever since Buck booked the members-only reptile tour, and so has been going through various sketchbooks trying to draw them. (If he doesn’t return with a Buck-bought alligator plushy and/or Lego set this evening, Eddie will convert to Mormonism.)
Eddie finds himself fondly watching Buck fondly watch Christopher, which is, quite frankly, embarrassing, but not enough for him to stop. There’s just something about how Buck listens with his whole body, the way he nods at a cool point or waits for Christopher to finish a point before adding a fact of his own or asks a follow-up question.
Buck glances over and catches him, and Eddie tries to school his expression into something less heart-beating-outside-his-chest-like. From the tender scrunch of Buck’s laugh-lines, Eddie’s not sure he manages it.
Christopher finally finishes his breakfast and goes to his room for a last-minute collection of anything he wants to take to the zoo. He calls through the hall, “My phone is out of charge!”
“I’ve got a portable battery,” Buck calls back. “Come on, the reptile tour waits for no man! Nor kid taking ages to brush his teeth!”
There’s a pause, and then a clatter as Christopher, having definitely forgotten to brush his teeth, makes for the bathroom and slams the door shut behind him.

Hey. Hey come get some more Cephalon Cy food. Fresh batch of assorted thoughts below.
-Cy is very tactile. He works faster if he can literally get his hands on things. This is why even before getting his void specter skill thing, in his chunk of the weave if there were files to process, they were manifested as fake paper. Despite being a brain-computer, feeling things still lets him work just a bit faster due to how hardwired touching things are in his uploaded neurons.
-Cy enjoys alcohol, beer and mead specifically. The Yvo clan had a particular beer brew they made that helped with scurvy due to adding in citrus juices. The mead? Well, that’s something Ordis’ clan used to drink. Seeing as he’s now dating that man, he’s grown to enjoy it as well. (Added bonus of it being far easier to simulate in a datascape than beer, for some reason.)
-When it comes to food, Cy doesn’t really have any preferences. At least he says he doesn’t. Really, this man treats any meat from ‘land animals’ as a fancy feast. Give him a hamburger and he’ll savor it. Give him some grilled salmon and that’s disappearing very quickly. And despite being fond of them, Cy will eat reptiles. He just offers them a silent thanks first, for providing sustenance. Well, he doesn’t eat reptiles nowadays as he technically doesn’t need to eat, but when he had to, he would.
-Gives gruff affection if he likes you. You want wild pats on the head for doing a good job and no words of encouragement? Too bad, that’s what you’re getting from him. If you’re too tall for easy head pats, you’re getting a hand on the shoulder and a nod of acknowledgement.  -When looking human, Cy is almost always in an unofficial uniform reflecting the fact he technically leads the Tenno Navy. Boots practical for standing hours on end, long, durable pants, and a black turtleneck shirt that’s missing an arm as it’s tricky to get tight fabric to sit right over an Atlas Prime arm. He does wear a coat, best described as some Admiral’s Coat/Duster Jacket hybrid that sometimes has a left sleeve, other times doesn’t. Whatever Cy feels more like at the time of it’s creation. It’s a light grey, with accents of gleaming Tenno steel-grey and an old pattern that vaguely looks like crashing waves. On his back between his shoulders is the Tenno Shield-looking sigil, in metallic dark grey.
-He has a resting “Tired of the world’s shit” face. And he shows almost all of his emotions in his eyes. He is prone to half-smiles and smirks, though. And again, if there is a snake nearby, his entire face lights up like a small collection of floodlights. (Ditto his kids/Ordis/rest of his family/staff he obviously likes and has mutual respect with.)
-Cy is also surprisingly pale for someone who spent his live on the seas. This is due to Uranus’ distance from the sun. When alive, after he arrived to Lua, this man was constantly sunburnt until he managed to get his hands on the good sunscreen. As a Cephalon he doesn’t burn anymore, but his void specter is subjected to lobster-red burns if he stays in extreme heat for too long. On the plus side, after he cools himself off from such a burn, he does get a nice tan that lasts only until his temperature averages out around 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
-Remember how I said this idiot will overwork himself? Glace once found him force-passed out for a maintenance cycle in their Railjack once. Being the gremlin they are, Glace promptly doodled on his face as he was currently manifested, dragged him to their quarters, and buried him in their small army of floofs and other soft things.  They promptly dug their way to his side afterwards and conked out next to him.
-Before Glace had realized “Oh good Cube Dad and Pyramid Uncle are finally dating.” They were sorely tempted to find away to code in handcuffs that could make the two stuck to each other in datascapes. My Tenno is a gremlin and I will not be ashamed of that.

Amatus Maren
Beloved Sea (latin)
God of Weather and Loyalty
The Storm King
Amatus follows the Maren legacy of 'ruling' part of the natural world that no living Draconic can control, having been named the Xokona Vurxe (translating to The Storm King) by his father. He was a terrifying force for thousands of years, his sadistic nature aiding him in causing many natural disasters simply to weaken the mortals of Salha. The Tri-Century Storm, a horrible hurricane (or blizzard, depending on where in Salha it is) that sweeps across both major continents every 300 years, ruining or even taking many lives.
Amatus joined the Celestial Pantheon for around 200 years, earning him the official status of God of Weather and Loyalty, until a chance encounter with Light Song meant he, ironically, abandoned the Celestials to follow someone who had somewhat similar goals as him.
Even though Vizerxa has goals and views completely opposite of Light Song, Amatus still is undyingly loyal to her and the Fallen Pantheon, having decided he's been part of it for too long to abandon.
Amatus is a highly sadistic being who seems to have almost no morals, even going as far as to defy his few personal rules if Light Song or Vizerxa say to. He gladly would kill for either of his Rulers. He calls most of his friends by some pet name, normally some variation of 'love' or 'my dear', unless they say not to. When he's around beings that aren't exactly close to him, he is rather easygoing, as he finds most people quite boring.
Amatus enjoys harsh weather, thinking it's funny to see how little mortals can put up with. He's also fascinated by ocean life, especially reptiles. He sometimes likes to help Star Seer with the gardens, and he also likes making origami, and playing the harp, organ, and the trumpet.
Amatus doesn't like overly compassionate or empathetic people since he doesn't understand how people can care so much about others, spiders, most stinging insects, and heat.
-Amatus hates Sidera, as she often torments Vizerxa.
-He learned origami from his aunt.
-Amatus is considered an 'old draconic', being 15,000 years old, and therefore somewhere between reptilian and the more human-like modern Draconics.
-Amatus has a collection of cool rocks, mainly being fossils or lightning-struck rocks.

Thank you all for the support I got on my last post! ^^ It really means a lot to see how much y'all enjoyed it, and the support really motivates me to make more for you all! I loved reading your comments as well - thank you so, so much! Now, without further ado:
(TMNT) Pets The Turtles Would Have:
This list includes: - Pets the turtles have had (canonically), and what times I believe they had or will have their pets - based off of the IDW, 2k12, and ROT TMNT. - Only the pets that have actively been their pet-pet, and have lived with them/ interacted/ bonded with them often. - What kinds of pets they would like, if any.
Leo:
-• He isn't too big on the idea of having a pet personally - he feels like his and his brothers' lives are busy enough, and doesn't need more added to them. He worries enough over protecting his brothers and close friends (along with not having the time to properly take care of any pets), and having little creatures running around would add to his stress
-• Besides, he gets his relaxation through meditating and personal time, and the folks he already has and loves are good enough company for him
-• Plus if anything happened to any pet of his, he'd feel guilty about it for years
-• Despite this, he is fine with his brothers having their own tiny companions, seeing as how the pets provide them comfort and make them happy
-• If he absolutely wanted a pet, he'd pick a dog for their loyalty, strength and natural hunting instincts. The Great Dane, German Shorthaired Pointer, and the Jack Russell Terrier would be some of his top picks
Tumblr media
Raph:
-• He loves reptiles; lizards, snakes, dinosaurs (assuming dinos were reptilian and not giant birds), turtles - you name it! Considering he is one, he likes the personal relation he has with them and feels like he can look after them better based off of his own needs
-• He worries he would hurt or stress out any other kind of animal, so he sticks to what he knows best
-• Any kind of "bug/ arachnid" pet is off limits. Spiders and cockroaches especially - he cannot stand how weird and creepy they look to him
-• Owned Pets:
- Spike/ Slash (Pet tortoise before mutating, recieved at 16 and "loses" at 16/17)
- Chompy Picasso (Pet alien turtle/ tortoise, recieved at 17/18 and still has)
- Pepperoni (Pet dino, recieves at 20 and will have after Splinter's death)
-• If he had to pick another pet to have, he'd choose a Corn Snake and 100% name them "Corn" or "Pretzel" knowing this boy's naming abilities. I swear, if he doesn't name him "Snakespeare"-
Tumblr media
Donnie:
-• Like Leo, he feels like he doesn't have the time to look after a pet, so he actually doesn't want one in fear of accidentally neglecting them
-• Though if he had to choose, he'd pick one that he wouldn't need to smother in affection - like fish
-• He'd most likely pick either Green Swordtails (with Corydoras and Platy Fish as housemates) or Koi Fish (with Goldfish and Suckermouth Catfish as housemates)
-• When he does have spare time, he likes bonding with his brothers' pets, if both his brothers and the pets in question let him
Tumblr media
Mikey:
-• An absolute cat person! He finds the little felines very cute, and comforting
-• Of course he finds any small furry animal cute, but cats are his favourite
-• He tends to be drawn to animals who can physically interact with him back - like cats, dogs, rabbits, or birds - and feels he can bond more closely with them that way
-• Owned Pets:
- Ice Cream Kitty (Pet cat, recieved at 15 and still has)
- Klunk (Pet cat, recieves at 19 and will have after Splinter's death)
- Pete (Pet pigeon, recieved at 16 and loses at 18/19)
-• If Mikey were to choose another cat, he'd probably pick a Persian or a Maine Coon. If he wanted another bird, he'd pick Lovebirds or Parakeets
Tumblr media
-• Other Pets:
- Mayhem (Pet cat-like creature): Collectively all of the brothers' pet. Raph looks after Mayhem the most compared to his brothers. They recieve Mayhem when they're about 17 years old
-• Extra:
- If the boys knew they were going to be gone from the lair for awhile or just needed someone to look after their pets, they'd ask April or you - if you're comfortable or aren't allergic, that is. Casey is just a no-go
- Raph and Mikey are absolute dads when it comes to their little companions. If they notice their buddies aren't doing too well, they - especially Mikey - will freak out and rush to Donnie immediately. Donnie has unwillingly now become a vet
- If you have little companions of your own, no doubt the brothers would love to see them! Bonus points if you have a pet that your favourite turtle brother likes
- Donnie always encourages you to bring your tiny buddies to their doctor and have them seen by professionals, but if you ever have a question or concern about one of your friends, you're always free to ask (Donnie knows a lot about non-human animals, especially reptiles and other aquatic creatures)
- Unfortunately, the guys might not always be available to see you or your pets in-person, so they may ask for you to send them pictures (get ready for some photoshoots, they'll want a lot)
Thank you for reading. :)

for mermay, indruck, 5, sfw? poison could refer to a love potion of some kind, or maybe a blue-ringed octopus (or other poisonous sea creature) mer?
Here you go!
Even with his future sight warning him this would be awkward, Indrid twitches his tail nervously as Juno, the volunteer checking him in to the venom donor clinic, frowns at her intake form.
“See, trouble is, because today’s a mer donor day, most of them give their donations from barbs. You’re gonna have to give from your fangs right?”
“Yes.” Maybe he should just cut his loses, come back on one of the Naga days, and hope no one tries to kill him.
“Volunteers gotta go through special training for milking fangs, so you may have to wait until one of them is available.”
“I do not mind waiting. I came to donate, and I have no urgent engagements. Is there somewhere I can be out of your way?”
Juno smiles, “We got some nice sunny rocks--hold that thought. Duck, you just get here?” She calls this to a human in khaki clothing. His black hair is streaked with grey--matching Indrid’s tail--and his smile is so bright Indrid wants to bask in it.
“Yep! Thacker got to the station a little early so I could clock out sooner. Seems like you got somethin’ I can help with.”
“Sure can. Duck, this is” she glances at the form, “Indrid. He’s a mer, but he needs to donate via fangs.”
“Roger that.” The man holds out his hand, “Nice to meet you, I’m Duck. It’s a nickname.”
Indrid shakes his hand, his visions having taught him this is the correct way to reciprocate the greeting.
“How long can you be outta the water?”
“Quite some time.”
“Great, in that case we’ll just go to the normal milkin station rather than me luggin things down here. Right this way.”
Indrid slithers up the beach behind him, drawing perplexed stares from humans and distrustful ones from the other mers. Duck holds open the flap on a tall, tan tent and Indrid heads inside.
“You ever given venom before?”
“No. I, I am only recently back in the area. When I heard about the program I knew I could be of help.”
“Sure can. Sea krait, right?” Duck gestures to the silver and black of his tail.
“Yes” Indrid smiles; most people just say snake.
“You reptile cousins can really fuck a human up. And who knows, your venom might be one of the kinds they can engineer multiple anti-vemons from.”
“I would like that. I like humans, and wish to help you. It is not your fault so very many things can kill you.”
Duck raises an eyebrow, “what happens if a King Naga bites you? Or even another venomous mer?”
“....I die. Ah, I, ah, see your point.” He smiles, sheepish, “apologies, although I wish to help humans, most of them prefer to stay far away from me, and so my manners are not always what they should be.”
“No harm done. Here,” he steps up onto a short stool, holding out a half circle of plastic filled with strong, astringent liquid, “put this in your mouth and bring your fangs out; we learned we have to disinfect them right before we milk.”
“PHeelphhh” Indrid winces as the liquid stings his senses.
“I know, it ain’t pleasant. Won’t be much longer.” The human stretches a thin sheet of rubber across a shallow circle, checks his watch, and then steps back onto the stool, “okay, when I say open, open your mouth wide so I can slide that one out and get this one in position. Don’t bite down until I say to.”
Indrid nods, opens his mouth when commanded. Even with the disinfectant in his noses, Duck’s scent is overwhelming from so close up; sweat, sunscreen, soap, and something woody that must be his deodorant. He bites down when Duck says, drops of venom pattering into the container. The human keeps one eye on the time, explaining that he doesn’t want Indrid to exhaust all his venom accidentally, thus rendering him vulnerable or unable to hunt.
“Aaaand done, go ahead and put those fangs away.” Duck removes the collection jar, labels it and puts it in a fridge as Indrid stretches his jaw, tensed from giving such a prolonged injection bite.
“Now, we always give donors a thank you; come pick what you like.” He swings open a second fridge. Indrid cocks his head, studying the packs of what he knows to be sushi and the different types of fruit. Flicking out his tongue, he scents something delicious, and picks up a bottle of pink liquid.
“I will have this Guava Juice.” He pops the cap and dips his tongue in for a taste, then for a second and a third. A charming noise enters the air, like a bird who long ago gave up on being dignified. Duck’s laughing.
“Sorry, wasn’t expectin that to be so cute.”
Indrid blushes; that’s not a word generally applied to him.
“Thank you for the juice. And for acomodating me.”
“Any time. Welcome to come back the next time we host a drive.” The human holds the door open for him, waves as he slithers down the sand, sipping his juice.
------------------------------------------------
“Hello, Duck.”
Duck doesn’t even turn around before he replies, “Nice to see you back, Indrid.”
This marks the fourth venom donation day the mer has come to, and he always gets paired with Duck. Duck doesn’t mind one bit; Indrid might be alarming to look at, not the elegantly finned, otherwise humanoid creature most people expect a mer to be. His scales appear on his arms and shoulders, and there’s even a patch of them on the back of his neck. His eyes are blood red, his smile wide and a little alarming even without the fangs showing. He’s also sweet, in an odd way, and takes genuine interest in Duck’s wellbeing and daily life.
Honestly, Duck wouldn’t chatting with him at a time when he isn’t jamming venom collection jars into his mouth. But asking to hang out with a patient is weird enough without the added difficulty of that patient needing to be in the water most of the time.
They go through their usual routine, Indrid helping himself to a mango juice this time before waving goodbye.
Two days later, Duck is checking on tree specimens when he senses red eyes on his back.
“You do not want to touch that trunk, there is a very large spider in that knot.”
“Indrid?”
“......no?”
“Just a prescient voice in the trees?”
“Yes. I am a very helpful tree.”
Duck turns in the direction of the river, one that feeds directly into the sea, “You know I ain’t gonna be mad if you wanna talk, right?”
“Of course, it was merely an attempt at a goof.” Indrid comes into view, peeking out from the bushes on the shoreline, “I was curious about your work and wanted to see you in action.”
“Afraid there ain’t much of that. What you’ve seen is kinda the gist of what I do.”
“I find it fascinating all the same. May I continue watching?”
Duck smiles, “Sure.”
Indrid turns out to be excellent company, in that he’s quiet for large stretches of time only to ask Duck about the exact thing he wants to talk about. It’s not until Duck is wrapping up and readying to head inland to the ranger station that Indrid asks an entirely new kind of question.
“You are a long way from home, aren’t you?”
He nods, “Spent decades in my home town, feelin like I couldn’t leave, like I had a responsibility to stay. When the chance to work out here, to try to preserve this fuckin amazin ecosystem, popped up, I decided it was time for a change of scene.”
He shivers as Indrid’s tail pets his ankle and the mer sighs, “I am glad you did.”
---------------------------------------------------------------
Indrid becomes a regular work companion after that. Sometimes he arrives with helpful information, like which paths might have tourists in need of assistance or where Duck can find the specimen he’s looking for, other times he comes just to talk or listen. These days, Duck finds himself hoping for the glimpse of silver and black in the water that announces his friend’s presence, and enjoying the appreciative looks he spies Indrid giving him when he thinks his back is turned.
So when something slithers in the bushes behind him, he simply calls out, “What’d you think of those cookies Juno brought in yesterday?”
“I do not know of what you speak, human.”
He whirls, finds a King Naga staring him down. This is probably bad, probably the reason rangers are required to carry a machete or hatchet, but he doesn’t want to be wrong and hurt someone just because they startled him.
“Can I, uh, help you with anythin, sir?”
“Yesss, you can. Be a nice human and stay where you are. I hate having to chasssse my food.”
“Uh” he steps backwards, keeping one eye on the fanged mouth, “that ain’t necessary. Know plenty of places you can get food, if you want.”
“Meager portionssss. And not half assss tempting.”
“Look man, I don’t wanna fight, so please just back off.”
The naga hisses, winding closer at an alarming speed. Then there’s a burst of movement and a flash of silver.
“You stay away from him.” Indrid rises as tall as he can, his body between Duck and the threat.
“Mind your own busssiness, ssseagoer.”
“Someone trying to make a meal out of my friend is most definitely my business.”
“Sssso be it.” The naga lunges. Indrid pushes Duck out of the way and catches his opponent, the force of the strike sending them both sliding down the incline towards the river. The naga outweighs Indrid by a considerable amount, keeps pinning him down only for the mer to wriggle free at the last moment.  Duck knows the agreement is humans stay out of Naga/merfolk conflicts, but there’s no way in hell he’s going to sit by and let Indrid get killed for his sake.
Right as he locates a large, hopefully sturdy branch, there’s a tremendous splash. The naga thrashes in the water as he’s pulled downstream. Indrid is underwater, holding his opponent in such a way that, the next time he strikes, he has to put his head beneath the current. Right into Indrid’s waiting grasp. The mer keeps his head trapped as his tail whips back and forth. It’s only when the naga is mostly limp, and Duck afraid he’s just witnessed a murder, that Indrid releases him. The half-drowned creature drags himself onto the shore, slithering away without a second glance at Duck.
“And, and do not come back!” Indrid pants from the shallows, struggling to pull himself back onto the sand. Duck hurries down to him, and Indrid reaches out his hand, concerned, “Are, did, did he hurt you.”
“No, not a fuckin scratch. ‘Drid, pretty sure you just saved my fuckin life.”
“Oh good.” Indrid’s smile is bright, even as his eyes grow blurry, “it is nice to end things with a worthwhile deed.”
Duck sees the puncture wounds in the merman’s arm the instant before he passes out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indrid wakes up, which is in and of itself a surprise. As is the fact he’s half submerged in water. Rolling over with a groan, he discovers he’s still on the beach where he fought the naga. His bandaged arm aches but is intact, someone has thoughtfully placed a pillow under his head, and there’s a small tent just up the incline. Sound asleep in a sitting position outside the tent is Duck.
He wriggles and crawls his way to the human, arms giving out as he reaches him, which means his head lands in Duck’s lap.
“Huwhazzat? Oh fuck, ‘Drid, you’re up.” Instead of pushing him away, Duck cradles his head and pets his hair, “thank fuck, I was so fuckin worried. Dani said it might take a few days for you to recover but I couldn’t stop worryin.”
“Duck? How long have you been here looking after me?”
“Since you got bit. So three days ago. Sarah got some anit-vemon down for you, and Dani swam up to bring you extra medicine just in case. Oh, and Barclay brought you food, I been tryin to get it into you when you were a little bit awake.”
Indrid manages to sit up, curling his tail around them, “You did not need to do all this for me. I knew the risks when I came to your aid. You did not need to save me in return.”
“Fuck need, I wanted to. You, you mean so fuckin much to me.” Duck strokes his cheek, runs his fingers up his tail, “I missed you so much the last three days, realized how so often the part of my afternoon was you comin to talk to me.”
The futures take an odd turn and Indrid shakes his head to clear them, certain he’s seeing wrong.
“And, uh, and I wanted to ask, uh, when you’re feelin better do you, uh, wanna have dinner with me. Like, uh, on a date?”
“Yes, so very much” Indrid drapes his arms around him, resting their foreheads together.
“Mind if I get a little kiss to tide me over?”
Indrid dips his head down, planting a chaste kiss on his lips before rubbing their cheeks together with a purr, “Apologies, but my kisses must be close mouthed. I’d hate to nick you with a fang.”
“Fine by me.” Duck kisses his shoulders, rubs his tail, “any kind of kiss from you is a goddamn blessin. Besides” he murmurs in Indrid’s ear, “sure we can figure out lots of other things to do together.”
“Absolutely” Indrid purrs, “but for now, would you care to join me for a swim?”

Tell me more about Elyas and Evanna! They are giving me Dipper and Mabel vibes. 👀
oh, in reference to the quote thing yeah?!
thanks for your interest! lemme give a rundown.
see stuffs below the cut!!
Elyas and Evanna are two out of three of my main characters from my story Where Bad Kids Go! (I will talk about Acker here, the third, as well!) Elyas is three years older than Evanna and are 25 and 22 respectively at the start. They were raised in abject poverty and lost their mom to sickness when they were very young. They were raised (poorly) by their dad who is essentially a -slightly- nicer Kenny Ackerman with Schizophrenia. Man went off the rails when he lost his wife. D:
Elyas is a smart cookie. He has a knack for building things and his intelligence was able to help get him and Evanna a slightly better living situation after he got on scholarship; their dad just kinda Left when Elyas was 16. He is going to be an engineer once he gets his degree and wants to work in bionics. Really wants to help people. Has Brittle Bone Disease Type 1 and some mobility issues associated with neonatal birth trauma (his left leggy has permanent femoral nerve damage). He loves alternative music, reptiles, and science fiction. Very dry sense of humor and pretty soft spoken (how GoHerping acts in his Reptile Unboxings is a great gauge for Elyas' sense of humor tbh!) but he is fun, surprisingly reckless, and has a big heart. He gets bored easily and likes to always be doing something. Curses like a sailor ("shit" is his favorite word and he peppers it on everything!!). Also an aside I added recently: if he were ever to listen to Surface Pressure he would actually cry because it would hit him so hard as the oldest sibling and relate to him and Evanna's Traumatic Experiences(TM).
Evanna is... weird. But she is weird and also, like her brother, incredibly smart. She memorized identifying factors of macrofungi (aka mushrooms) in two weeks and likes to gather up edible ones regularly. She is quirky and loves walking around the woods collecting frogs, too. Very goblincore. She is compassionate and sweet, but between her unbending adherence to cryptid and alien conspiracy theories and niche interests, she has very few friends. Despite her weirdness, Eve is not "crazy". She knows when to be serious and can hold "normal" conversations... for the most part. Aside from her hobbies, her biggest strength lies in chemistry. She is studying to be a chemist and minoring in environmental science. Bit of a goof in humor and likes to pun (partially because it annoys Elyas). Can be a Little Shit(TM) and saecastic when she wants to. Also loves music, especially lofi and indie rap.
They act like most siblings so, being a bit antagonistic towards each other and getting in small arguments (that Tumblr post that's like "greetings whore" and then the other sibling fortnite dancing sums them up well), but they ultimately deeply care, love, and support each other. They have a lot of shared life experiences nobody else could ever get for obv reasons (I mean they are siblings) but without giving too much away, their dynamic and relationship is a central theme to the story. So I can see the Dipper and Mabel vibes for sure!
And while I'm here, I can't not mention Acker. He is the third member of the Quirky Trio.
Acker is a man with layers. He was well on his way to getting into MIT, but after his father's death and a falling out with his family, he had a breakdown and ran off to do his own thing, van life style. This was partially influenced by a mystery he's been chasing for half his life that may or may not be cryptid related. Acker himself is highly intelligent and book smart despite his appearance. He has an innate desire to do good and leave the world better than he found it. But, he is stubborn, rough around the edges, and can be quite protective and is not above throwing fists if any of his loved ones or himself are threatened. Sometimes, he can be a bit of a doormat when it comes to those he cares about. On the flipside, he can be egotistical and arrogant at times, often unintentionally talking down to those he perceives as less intelligent than himself, but is overall well meaning and good natured at his core. He is prone to getting bored and has a zest for new experiences and adventure. Can be a bit of a hypebeast. Acker loves alternative rock and has a soft spot for musicals!
Acker, Elyas, and Evanna are all very close and were friends in childhood. They lost contact when Acker moved, but circumstances in the story cause them to reunite and it all takes off from there. Acker and Elyas specifically can be summed in (with an Everymanhybrid quote from Steph) "Do you ever just connect with someone? [sic]"
