We're talking making notes and charts and a list of Everything That Must Go Right for the Perfect Setup. He's made a list of seventy-three options and eliminated half of them. He's fussed over the ring and has three different options stored in his sock drawer, one in the bottle of shower gel Bill doesn't use, and one up in the rafters. There's an excel file with probabilities for weather and temperature and the mood Bill might be in at that exact moment.

Of course, all these things completely fall apart in the most chaotic manner possible, with a high chance of 'near-death experience' to boot.

Dipper ends up blurting out 'Marry me' after the battle, seizing Bill's hand while his own are all sticky with the blood of their enemies and the survivors groan in anguish in the obliterated wreckage. And it's the most romantic proposal Bill could ever ask for.

I just. I have too much to do 😭 I've been in survival mode 24/7 for the last four weeks. and the homework is only going to get worse, and I will only have less time for it from here on out because more clients will be booking my hours at work.

Also, I haven't been able to visit my parents for weeks, and the one in-person friend I had at college graduated last year. I'm lonely. I have been trying for days to find a topic for the "paper" I need to turn in for this Philosophy of History course on Friday, and I got nothing.

I so intensely dislike this subject you cannot imagine.

#This is the main reason I didn't take it the first time around #because they told me back then it wasn't required #and I had no interest in it #unlike most other branches of philosophy #it's constituted mostly by Prussian Philosophers #writing theories about history where of course Prussia is the pinnacle of humankind #theories that have the randomness of Tumblr shitposts without any of the fun #You open JSTOR and won't be able to find more than a couple dozen papers on the subject itself #and how could you #It's a discipline that has like 2-3 possible questions tops #is history linear or cyclical or something else #Does History have a purpose (so is there a providence) or not? #And that's pretty much it #By the point you are asking the question about the subjectivity of historical narratives you are talking about hermeneutics #and therefore philosophy of language and the mind #My frustration is not helped by the fact that the professor herself has taught very little #most of the classes have been presentations by freshmen classmates whose interpretations are understandably very basic and tentative #so the fact that she's asking for this without specific guidances is adding insult to injury #but wait there's more! #she intends the papers to be read collectively and peer discussed and evaluated #grrrr #Anyways if you need me I'll be on the pit of despair

ㅤhave some fledgling verse info that i've been meaning to get into forever but am somehow only getting to now!! i've (finally) done some further reading on vtm lore, looked into merits and flaws, and played around a bit with character sheets, so i feel more confident in getting into how being thin-blooded affects byan and how the curse differs for them compared to a fully-fledged vampire. ...even though i'm still playing fast and loose with the rules and maintaining some creative freedom with it since i'm not creating them for the purpose of running a campaign, and given the fact that being thin-blooded affects everyone differently.

they have about the same resilience to damage as a fully-fledged vampire, but heal more slowly

they are also as prone to frenzy as your average kindred is, if not slightly more so given their temperamental disposition and less than stable mental health

they are slightly more resilient in regard to sunlight, but not nearly enough so to risk actually stepping out into it. they are, however, able to stay awake after the sun rises and even retain a lot of the difficulties in sleeping which they had in life

their heart hasn't ceased beating entirely, but it beats very slowly and weakly. it's actually more unnerving to them when everything is quiet and it's the only thing they can hear than if it didn't beat at all, they think. something about it just feels wrong

they can eat food, but it's incredibly difficult and takes a lot of effort. too much effort to be worth the little sustenance it provides in most cases, outside of maybe some very specific and unlikely emergency situations

similarly, they can indulge in alcohol and drugs, but the effect is weak and requires amounts that would be dangerous to a human for them to actually feel drunk or high. as with food, it requires a lot of effort to keep their body from rejecting it

they can get sick. not easily, but it can happen, and medicine doesn't do a damn thing

they look a little more alive than a fully-fledged vampire, but they're still a bit paler, a bit thinner, and overall look a bit more sickly than they ever did in life

when feeding, they aren't able to lick the wound fully closed. they've tried. they've spent a couple minutes trying before, to no avail

they aren't completely incapable of forming blood bonds and embracing new thin-bloods, but it's very hit or miss — sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. not that they've ever actually tested it because they do fully believe that they're incapable

they aren't able to create ghouls, however

they are faster, stronger, and have better reflexes than a human, but not nearly to the same extent as a full vampire. they got a buff, just not a very strong one

this is less relevant to how the curse affects them, but it's a note i want to make all the same: they're still trying to get a grasp on blood resonances and how to use the disciplines they can temporarily gain from different types. they're also actively seeking a way to learn thin-blood alchemy and/or someone to teach them, but have been unsuccessful thus far

#love the concept of them being trapped in this weird and uncomfortable limbo between mortal and vampire (: #they got some perks but mostly it's a lot of disadvantages on both sides and isn't that just the story of their life am i right #oooooh and i can't tell you how tempted I was to give them the baby teeth flaw omgggg #the idea of them not being able to bite and having to use a knife to feed instead is REALLY funny to me #and would have been this added insult to injury that they would have hated #...but i'm too much of a sucker for fangs so i couldn't do it to 'em #also played around with the idea of making them vitae dependent just for some extra spice but #i think that would've made things a little too hard on them when they're lowkey kind of avoiding most kindred #anyway idk what inspired me to finally jot this all down but u bet it happened in the middle of the night last night smh #here it is. hopefully this bodes well for doing replies later 🤞 #━━ ˟ ⊰ ✰ headcanon ⋮ danger in the fabric of this thing i made. #━━ ˟ ⊰ ✰ verse: fledgling.
