. . . ICE CREAM! featuring xiao!

contains! . . . genshin impact, adeptus xiao :OO !!, ooc probably, gn! reader, can be read as either platonic or romantic (though mainly platonic cuz there's barely any hints of romance here), reverse isekai (cuz there's hardly any content about it), xiao being randomly isekai'd to our world 💀, this is kind of inspired by the fact that I AM IN MANILA RN-, pinipig ice cream cuz I recently just ate one I love it so much that I got the motivation to write smth about it!!!, reader is on vacation, reader is kinda knowledgeable here- notes! . . . wew!! the plot's kinda shitty but whatever.

“... what is this.”

with a narrowed gaze, xiao stares at the chocolate coated ice cream he holds by the stick—suspicious of the frozen delight treat that you gave in front of him.

ever since the adepti had been isekai'd into your world and into your country, you'd thought to have some fun showing him around and letting him (more like encouraging him, actually. he's pretty reluctant to do anything since the guy's unfamiliar with the place) try things that weren't in the existence of Teyvat's regions.

(and to also teach him how to act appropriately without raising suspicions. thank goodness that you had spare clothes that fit him well, unless you want to deal with A LOT OF unwanted attention and unnerving stares).

and right now, you and xiao were sitting on a bench nearby a sari-sari store you've just came out of to buy some delicious treats—considering the concerning slight increase of warm temperature in your area near the hotel you're staying at (damn the sun).

plus, you wanted to cool down a bit before continuing to explore the capital of the Philippines, Manila, which you were originally taking a vacation in before xiao came barging into your life like a whirlwind of chaos.

(literally. he suddenly crashed right on to your bed while you were taking a shower before going to bed, which created a loud noise and made you get out of the bathroom to check what's going on—let's just say a lot of yelling from you and xiao being xiao alarmed the owner of the hotel for them to come knocking on your door to check if anything's okay there. you had to lie to their poor face, shouting from the other side that you have everything under control while you were manhandling and restraining the adepti the best you could. in the morning, after you and xiao settled things down for the night, you decided to fake up a story to the owner that the “friend” of yours had decided to spook the hell out of you by coming in through your window that night and that he needed to stay for a while—which they surprisingly bought and let you and your proclaimed “friend” xiao to switch to a bigger room for the both of you to stay in. rip your wallet though).

meanwhile, the corners of your mouth quirk up into a smile as you also were holding an ice cream that was identical to his, “oh! its called pinipig ice cream. its basically a vanilla ice cream bar that was rolled in pinipig before then coated in a layer of melted liquid chocolate. then, its settled aside for the chocolate to cool down before its packaged and shipped to places where it'll be sold.”

“what is ‘pinipig’?”

“basically a flattened rice ingredient that's made of immature grains of glutinous rice pounded until flat before being toasted.”

“... huh.”

then you randomly grasped xiao's wrist—the one he was using his hand to hold his ice cream—and gently guided the treat slightly closer to his mouth, which sort of startled him by your actions but you payed no mind to that.

“try it! it's delicious, I promise.” you flash him a more prominent smile as you let go of his wrist and tested your hand by your side, now anticipating for the guy to take a bite of the ice cream before it starts melting. xiao stares at the treat momentarily, debating if he should do what you've suggested him to do or should he not—nonetheless, he tried it anyways and took a small bite out of the corner of the ice cream.

“... its good.”

after moments of waiting and xiao stating his thought about the frozen delight, you pumped your fist and grunting a “yes!” to yourself which makes xiao briefly ponder what the neck you just did but just decided to eat his ice cream any ways, making you also eat your own ice cream before it could start to melt on your fingers.

you were sort of glad to have someone to company you on your vacation, even if it's an anemo vision wielding adeptus from a hit video game you knew all and well that got isekai'd here into your world for no apparent reason. but for now, you'll just chill for a while during your vacation until you can soon find a way to get him back to his world once again.

let's just hope he doesn't find out he's a fictional playable character whose only purpose is to serve and fill in a role in the game for entertainment (and comfort) reasons.

Innocent alatus! Who even though he's fought so many demons has no clue how to do even the easiest of tasks! Cooking? No clue cleaning clothes? Nope he's completely useless

Innocent alatus! Who starts crying all puffy-cheeked when you sigh at the fact that he's useless except for killing people he promises he'll try! He'll try harder to learn whatever you want so please, please! Don't abandon him!!

Innocent alatus! Who read some books while you were upset with him to get his mind off this discovers a very peculiar way of apologizing he reads some more books and sees that this method always works! Alright, he'll try it out as soon as you get back from work!!

Innocent alatus! Who goes to the shops with your money to purchase all the items he found frequently from those books happily humming as he has no decency to even try to hide them from the people passing by

Innocent alatus! Who's laid out spread across your bed with all of the toys he bought, wearing a cute little maid dress that covered almost nothing allowed you to see he wasn't wearing anything underneath

Innocent alatus! Who doesn't understand the implications of his actions and doesn't quite understand the hungry look in your eyes though his thoughts are quickly interrupted when you push his legs apart- he starts feeling flustered he doesn't get why?

Innocent alatus! Who gives his first time to you! He's read somewhere that this means he belongs to you! He automatically assumes this so if you ever bring another man or woman to the house he gets really angry and starts crying! Isn't he enough?? Why would you need anyone else?

Innocent alatus! Who you have to comfort and hold while he sobs into your clothing his cheeks all red and puffy while he begs you to promise him that you won't bring back anyone else and that he's enough for you! You laugh looking at his small weak body who's still slightly shivering and still covered in very prominent red marks

Innocent alatus! Who shrieks when you push him to the floor palming his clothed dick while tearing off his shirt and pulling his legs apart "you've scared them away..take responsibility..if you think you have it all to please me..show me"

Innocent alatus! Who just softly nods with a big blush on his face as he promises he can take you!

Innocent alatus! Who's already done by the 6th time but you're just getting started! He's mumbling incoherent things all the while sobbing at the same time "alatus are you sure you want to keep going." he can't bring himself to speak but he nods clawing at your back finally saying he can take more! he's not done! Not until you're tired as well!

Innocent alatus! who'll take as many thursts and even more spankings if that's what it takes to please you, his whole body is shivering covered in bruises as he's sobbing but he's begging you, don't stop! There's no need to stop! He can't keep going! You obviously can tell that he's lying but...- you can't help yourself as his body pulls you in again and again and he just looks so delicious!!

To Take for Granted

Genshin Cult AU x Reader Angst

They say to never meet your heroes.

Imagine you isekai but as your mortal self with no special divine powers. Only the knowledge of the characters and the game you played.

At first, the acolytes are amazed to be in the presence of the creator. They worship you, give you everything you could ever want and shower you in praise and affection.

However, the more you stay, the more their affection and worship begins to dwindle.

They begin to lose faith.

You don’t meet their godly expectations. You’re not as divine and all knowing as they had originally thought. They don’t gain any divine blessings or power from worshipping or devoting themselves to you.

You are not their perfect creator, you have flaws. You’re human.

The archons no longer prioritize you, choosing to take care of their prospective nations than to cater to you.

Their attitude change is gradual and you notice their declining interest in you pretty early on, but you can’t do anything to stop it. It’s not long before your lively temple becomes desolate with little to no visitors.

Although you’re hurt and disappointed, you are a bit grateful. You’ve read stories of imposters being slaughtered so you feel like being forgotten is better than being hunted. Still, you’re not one to stay where you’re unwanted. You begin to do research on how to return back to your original world. You’ve had your fill of Teyvat and you think it’s time to go home.

Eventually, you come to the conclusion that the only way to return is to die in this world.

Though you’re scared, you push through and find the most peaceful way to pass. A poison that will stop your heart in your sleep.

After traveling to all of the beautiful viewpoints of Teyvat one final time, you return to your temple and consume the poison.

When you open your eyes once more, you’re back home in your bed. The familiar Genshin Impact loading screen is open on your phone.

With a sad smile, you delete the app.

In Teyvat, the archons, adepti, everyone is panicking.

Plants are dying and the weather is unstable. Farmers are unable to yield any crops from the constantly changing weather. Monsters are becoming increasingly violent and restless and no one can seem to find an explanation.

Until one character remembers you.

Their supposed creator. Everyone decides to pay a visit to your temple on the off chance that you may know of a solution to their current issues.

The area around your temple is peaceful. Birds are chirping, the sun is shining along with a soft wind that keeps the area nice and warm. It’s a stark difference from the cold and gloomy weather all around Teyvat.

They knock on the doors to your temple but no one answers. After waiting for a while, they let themselves in.

They find you laying peacefully on the silk sheets of your bed. Your eyes are closed and you have a small smile on your face. If it wasn’t for your cold skin and the absence of a pulse, they would have thought you were sleeping.

When the archons announce the death of the creator, the cause of all of their problems becomes apparent to all.

The land of Teyvat itself, is in mourning.

The period of morning lasts for one whole year.

Even as the mourning period of Teyvat ends and all goes back to normal, the characters are still not at ease.

When they realize that you’re truly gone, the characters have no idea what to feel. They didn’t notice at first how much your presence truly effects the land of Teyvat.

Something about their world now just seems so artificial.

Without the presence of the creator, it seems as if everything’s become stagnant. Water still runs, clouds still float in the sky but for some reason nothing seems real. The characters feel as if they have no purpose, no drive.

They begin to notice things that they’ve never noticed before. The citizens in each of their nations seem to say the same things over and over again. The people they help with tasks, have the same reoccurring problem. It becomes unsettling.

The acolytes that have originally lost faith have become more religious than ever. They pray every single day, hoping that you’d hear them and realize how sorry they are to have neglected you.

Some have become so devoted to the point of studying how to summon or even descend a god. To forcefully bring you back to Teyvat just so they could see you in person once more.

They had beaten themselves up over the layer of dust accumulated on the furniture in your temple. Now, your acolytes come in personally everyday to make sure every inch of your temple is spotless.

But no matter how much time passes or how much they pray, they are unable to feel your presence.

Though disheartened, they understand. You must still be upset with them but how can they prove themselves to you if they never see you again? However, it’s okay if you’re not ready to come back to Teyvat. They will come to you instead.

Zhongli doesn't come off as jealous at all in your relationship. He's a gentleman, very mature and understanding.

He doesn't mind when others fall for you or confesses. Doesn't blink an eye if someone were to treat you a little too nice, flirt a little too much. You back away in the end anyway, and they're easy to fend off by saying "I'm taken"

He's even grateful if others were to pull out your seat or escort you home, all because he's aware that you're his in the end.

But he's still a dragon. The same kind that would hover over piles of gems and gold, guarding their hoards, and not even letting a single mora out of their sight.

Rex Lapis created mora. And even though he doesn't have a cent in his wallet now, he's still aware that all mora is his.

Just like you're his, no matter where you go. Ao how does his possessiveness show itself?

It's probably subtly, something not so obvious to humans but the adepti are all too aware. they see his domain on you, his aura always with you.

His scent is on you, your clothes are shared in his closet and it stays for a long time.

Markings from intimate sessions are also a sign of his possessiveness. Just like a stamp on mora.

Tries to get you to wear the things he buys: jewelry, clothes, shoes. Also includes his signature colors and designs. anything that would make you more his.

Like mora, anyone could hold you and admire you, but they should never forget just who you belong to

Would also work if he gives you his last name in marriage

Been thinking about the Adepti being shapeshifters.

It's stated that they can take whatever shape they want, but I think there's limits and some are better at it than others.

Cloud Retainer said that taking human form is "a simple task for one", but Ganyu confirms that this is the same form she took thousands of years ago, so it's not new. And we also see other instances of the limitations of her shapeshifting in her story quest. Instead of simply shapeshifting into a white crane (you would think changing your colour when it's already pretty close would be super simple) she paints herself white. And when giving Yuandi the medicine she made to preserve her facade instead of shapeshifting into another person, she wore fake facial hair and physical clothes to disguise herself (If Yuandi hadn't already been sick/out of it, she DEFINITELY would have seen through that nonsense)

It makes me think that there are some forms that are more "natural" and easy for them to take. Even the most adept (heh) shapeshifters we know can't change certain things about themselves. Zhongli, for all the forms he's taken, can never seem to change his eyes. Which has allowed people to clock him when he's gone incognito throughout history (I know Rex Incognito is semi-fictional, but Zhongli admits to the behaviour so it's based in some truth).

Half-adepti seem to have some shapeshifting ability, but not a lot. Like, Ganyu is evidently hiding a tail that she displayed when she was a kid, but she can't freely control her weight and struggles to keep it off.

So I don't think the sentiment that "They can be whatever they want" is entirely true.

Here is your one (1) free pass to yap about the stupid ass adeptus gang and their shenanigans (i love zhongli having been the Tired Responsible One for his entire life... he would 100% buy/have been gifted the 'proud mother of a couple of dumbass kids' shirt)

zhongli and his adepti are like one of my favorite bands of characters alongside itto and his arataki gang they are so funnyy

the adepti appear to be very serious and strict which they are but they are also insane???? Part of the story as a whole is to show that the divine aren't too different from humans and this includes the adepti.

Streetward Rambler and Guizhong arguing about music so Morax had to take away the bell after Cloud Retainer tattled? Cloud Retainer lending Moon Carver and Mountain Shaper her cooking device that they still haven't given back? Or that one time Cloud Retainer built a snowmobile with Guizhong and Ping before Moon Carver crashed it and it took hours to dig him out of the snow? All 3 of the so called elite adepti and even the god of liyue himself trying to help some kid reconcile with his father?

the adepti are all very unserious very much freaks of nature.

I think about the Yakshas as well especially Menogias, poor guy was born to style forced to slay. It's funny how his designs were so intricate that none of the fellow yakshas wanted to wear it but he was so stubborn about it that even Rex Lapis couldn't change his mind. In fact there is not enough Morax and his yakshas lore. Like please i beg every day for Zhongli to talk about people in his past. I know he wont but I want to believe anyway.

A part of me believes that once Zhongli quit being the geo archon and moved to the harbor, cloud retainer, moon carver and mountain shaper had a terrible case of empty nest loneliness. We all know how that turned out for Xianyun but I expect it's only a matter of time before the other 2 come closer to the harbor as well. Perhaps to follow Zhongli around like lost ducklings.

In one of Xianyun's character stories, Zhongli had a commission for consultancy but he was busy and just sent her to do it. I'm gonna tear up but the idea that Zhongli knew this task would be perfect for her and just sent her on her way is just the cutest.

Also in her voiceline for Zhongli, when she told him she was coming to the harbor he basically gave her a shopping list of things to do and how to arrange her home. I love the idea of Zhongli stepping into Cloud Retainer's new house and just instantly moving the furniture to ensure proper Feng Shui. Like the list was so extensive that CR got overwhelmed -like her of all people- getting overwhelmed with knowledge is amusing.

Moon Carver is one of Rex Lapis disciplines so its clear that even amongst the older adepti that Zhongli is a still a teacher and won't hesitate to lecture them. These days I am sure he trying to be a more relaxed person but old habits are hard to break.

I haven't even talked about Zhongli and Xiao which are my favorite dynamic in the entire game I love when they are together. But Zhongli slowly trying to get Xiao to open up and experience the beauties of life and get closer to humanity every lantern rite I might weep. Like lying about stupid sesame seed oil last year and now hes flying kites this year, Zhongli is playing some incredible 5D chess to get Xiao to visit him more without explicitly saying it. BECAUSE he knows if he tells Xiao to see him he will but he doesn't want to force Xiao to come he wants him to come on his own means.

Kind of reminds me how Zhongli keeps birds. Ya know he has like bird cages where he keeps birds which he then takes around but based on his disposition I believe Zhongli is an expert and keeping birds to stay. Just building them homes and cages and of course he lets them come and go freely but some of them find his homes so nice that they decide to stay with him. So yeah I think Zhongli is deliberately treating Xiao like a bird that will return to him by his own means.

Anyway I would love love loveeee to put all the adepti in a room and just watch them work. Like CR, MC and MS are bound to start an argument while Xiao tries to linger in the corner, Ganyu tries to attend to all of them while Ping and Zhongli just laugh in the chaos.

Damn, the fact I haven't seen Ganyu and Zhongli interact since the Liyue archon quest is a crime, they are the only Zhongli relationship that I am craving to see (other than zhongli neuvillette). I want to believe it is just because Ganyu would blow his cover instantly. She would have to bite her tongue to avoid calling him Rex Lapis.

Speaking of Ganyu the fact one of the first thing CR says about her is that she was once so fat she rolled down as hill? Or in Zhongli's voicelines he implies she is stronger or even fiercer than she looks so much so that she would be embarrassed by his lack of delicacy when describing her.

I have mentioned this is another post but it's kind of sweet how much the adepti like Zhongli. He is more than their god but also a very treasured companion and friend. First he always calls them his friends ("a friend approaches" AND THEN XIAO APPEARS). But like god forbid you are rude to him because they would storm off or snap at you (Xiao and Xianyun). Don't disrespect him or they'll hate you for years (Ganyu). But at the same time he is a friend that eats dinner with them during Lantern Rite or a friend they make fun of for making square cups.

Of course I imagine there is a lot of respect in their relationship and a noticeable power imbalance. I kind of imagined that with becoming "Zhongli" Morax not wanted only to become closer to humanity but also bridge the gap between himself and the adepti. Show them not only the beauty of a world led by humans but also to come to them not as their overlord but as a treasured friend. The adepti clearly hold him in very high esteem recognizing his sacrifice, strength and good of heart.

WHICH is why i'll never accept people who call Morax a tyrant because the adepti saw Morax out and about and were like "damn im gonna follow this guy for the rest of eternity he's so cool".

I also think it is hilarious how Zhongli has influenced the adepti and how they just kind of absorbed some of his personality traits. Part of the reason Ganyu is so dedicated and hardworking to the point of exhaustion is because of how much she looks up to Rex Lapis, she even states that her work could never compare to what he has done for Liyue so she pushes herself even harder.

Or Xiao the most loyal of the adepti who still works tirelessly to this day because of his contract. I believe the adepti especially the younger ones were like "he works so hard and sacrifices everything i will do just that!".

Even Yanfei who has never formed a contract with him still maintains that hardworking attitude but without the self-sacrifice so she is like the perfect Liyue citizen in Zhongli's eyes.

anyway I have some thoughts on adepti shenanigans i would love to see

Adepti feast, put them all in a room I expect a very elegant and mature feast but I also expect someone to break something. Maybe they will behave themselves with Zhongli next to them maybe they won't we have to see. In fact put Shenhe and Yaoyao there too lets cause problems

Adepti shopping spree. Xianyun and Zhongli are terrible they will buy anything they set their eyes on. Xianyun falls for marketing scams but then there is Zhongli who won't fall for scams but buys everything at full price anyway. They reek absolute havoc in the shopping district once they get paid.

I am on my knees please please give me a Zhongli and Ganyu interaction i am not so greedy to ask for specifics just please just please (also more Zhongli and Ping interactions hell throw Guoba there too).

I will accept any Xiao and Zhongli interactions like anything i love them together.

Like i said its only a matter of time before MC and MS show up in the harbor and I can't wait to see Zhongli tease them.

Zhongli teasing the adepti!!!!!! Zhongli in disguise "OH NO I am a poor helpless mortal how could I ever compare to the adepti" they are fuming but they can't argue with him. they can only tolerate his teasing until they are alone.

Zhongli gets harassed by the Liyue public for disrespecting Rex Lapis and the adepti had to step in and tell them that it’s alright

Xiao with the strength of the gods: Mr. Zhongli did nothing wrong

Citizens: He called Rex Lapis a bum?

Xiao: He didn’t mean that he’s sorry

Zhongli: No i’m not! I think he was a fraud!

Xiao: Forgive him

Anyway please give us more adepti and please let them interact with Zhongli more. They are always so bashful and sweet in his presence so I must have an interaction I must.

As a more obscure goddess in the land of Liyue, you didn’t expect nor convince yourself that the most beloved God would take an interest in you, it was rather unrealistic, even for a divine being.

So why did your beloved friend Guizhong insist on you meeting him? Or for the Adepti to respect you so much? It all seemed perplexing to you, something the most eccentric of architecture you could create, or the theatrical arts with a twisted interpretation, wouldn’t compare to.

It resembled a moth around lanterns, a thought which wouldn’t leave your mind and almost felt essential that it should be enlightened to you. This feeling only returned stronger when you were conversing with Guizhong on Mt. Aocang, accompanied with teapots brewing with exquisite teas and offerings left on the stone table.

‘Please, Dear Friend! Just take up my request, he would be so delighted to meet you!’ She pleaded, propping her hands onto yours. ‘Morax is especially fond of the arts, which you specialise in.’ You only sighed anxiously, wiping off the non-existent dust on your lilac hanfu. Now she understood your hesitation.

She silently stood from her seat, making her way over to you as she began to comb through your hair therapeutically. Her dainty fingers arranged your hair into a neat plaited updo, securing an aurate, floral hairpiece within it. Guizhong smiled fondly, turning you around by your shoulders to face her.

‘Do not fret, i will take care of that, for now let me help you get ready.’ She comforted, producing a small pouch from her pocket, pulling various jewellery and make-up items from it. From your soft, painted lips to your violet, complimentary eyeshadow, she took care of it.

‘There we are…Perfect!’ With a final additive of fragrance, Guizhong admired her work. She thought you always looked gorgeous, especially when you were in regal attire. You greatly appreciated her compliments, reflecting them back at her.

‘Apologies, am i interrupting?’ A husky, deep voice remarked. Although you have only heard from your companions regarding him, the gentle undertone in his voice came as a surprise.

‘Ah, Morax! Look who i’ve brought with me!’ Guizhong introduced, turning to face you towards him by your shoulders. You wondered how obvious the flush across your face was. When he had came closer, you bowed slightly as a wordless acknowledgment.

At first glance, you couldn’t help but notice his golden, intricate eyes, or his arms which were decorated in the same manner. Maybe how defined his features were through that thin shirt of his…

‘It’s a pleasure to meet you, Morax, please accept this gift.’ You quietly offered, retrieving the decanter of osmanthus wine you had brought with you after learning how fond he was of the drink. His eyes seemed to flick from you to the bottle, repeatedly before graciously taking it from your hands.

‘Thank you dear, why don’t you come with us?’ Morax suggested, who would of known he was such a gentleman? All throughout the indulgent conversations you two had, partially fuelled by Guizhong’s futile attempts at matchmaking, it was as if you could trace the path the archon’s irises took upon you.

Despite the awkwardness you three displayed, you considered this meeting a success! Aside from the obvious chatting about duties as a diety, you found Morax had a more…refined personality. His love for nature and tradition held above all, you could only feel flattered as he expressed his admiration for your speciality.

Gatherings such as this occurred more frequently as eons flew past, from small talk to teases, this trio of yours grew inseparable. The aged stone table brought all sorts of memories back to you.

‘Checkmate, again!’ You giggled, watching Rex Lapis’ eyes widen for the sixth time that duel, he breathlessly chuckled back, resting his chin in his palm, defeated. Seems he left the King open to attack carelessly.

‘As expected, nobody could beat the goddess herself in her own game.’ He responded, watching you reposition the pieces upon the chess board once more, grinning at his statement.

‘Who knows? Perhaps in a few centuries you will surpass me in my skill, even if i might not be around to witness such.’ You casually mentioned, not noticing how Morax’s heart dropped in in his chest. A life without you? Never, even erosion couldn’t take you away from him, it wouldn’t dare.

He reached across the table to intertwine his fingers with yours, ‘Please darling, do not say such things, i’d break a contract if it meant keeping you here with me.’

So why, why did you leave him alone, again? Why did he have to witness your limp figure in a field of bloodshed and decaying flora? Why wasn’t he there to hear your last words? The burning question in the abyss of his heart, Why did he leave his feelings for you so late?

You could of roamed the bustling streets of Liyue Harbour, watch the lanterns illuminate the sky like constellations that could manipulate your destiny to be less tragic. Zhongli wouldn’t have to traverse alone, rather with you, once more.

He couldn’t help the blur of his vision as the checkerboard infront turned against him. Casting his gaze downwards, this was your last request and he couldn’t even fulfil it? The younger male duelling him panicked seeing how forlorn Zhongli appeared.

‘Wait, Xiangsheng! What happened? Did i do something wrong?’ Childe frantically insisted, attempting to sympathise with the retired archon. A simple dismissal from him, shaking his head.

‘Childe, Have you ever lost someone you’ve loved so dearly?’ Zhongli confessed with a shaky voice, shimmering tears freely flowing from his tired eyes for the first time in eons. He hoped that wherever your soul resides, you wouldn’t forget his affection for you, as Morax and Zhongli.
