"FFRF blew the lid off a series of secretive calls the Trump White House held to reassure churches that they could and should request forgivable loans under various SBA programs, including the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). In one call, Trump-allied faith leaders were assured by the federal government that even a discriminatory fly-by-night “church” that provides absolutely no secular social services, and of which the owner is the sole employee, could have its wages covered by taxpayers during the PPP time period. These assurances were made a full two weeks before the SBA released its final rule on eligibility, showing that it had no interest in considering public comments.

Another call was even more explicit, with churches urged to apply for PPP funds before the deadline. Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, a member of Trump’s Evangelical Advisory Council, reported that the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, which took in $350,000–$1 million, “has literally been kept solvent . . . by the Paycheck Protection Plan (sic)” (44:30). Dobson noted with obvious glee that in 43 years of leading two faith-based ministries, he had “never asked for, nor received, one cent from the federal government” (43:49), expressing his surprise that taxpayer funds could now flow to his ministry.

While FFRF maintains that it is inappropriate for any government action to turn religious Americans into an “in” crowd while secular Americans are “outsiders,” the current White House faith-based office has turned a blatantly Christian nationalist outfit into an office that explicitly acknowledges the separation between religion and government. Aeroport d'Orly, mercredi 31 juillet. 8h30. Les premiers voyageurs se rejoignent petit à petit. Nous devons embarquer à 11h30 pour la Havane. 9h00. Il manque  toujours deux personnes à l'appel dont les visas sont indispensables pour l'embarquement. 10mins avant la fin du checkin, notre groupe est enfin au complet, nous recuperons enfin notre précieux sesame que sont les visas. Le groupe passe avec brio et élegance  l'ensemble des formalités admimistratives avant de s'envoler pour Cuba.

Premier contact avec le charme attractif de Cuba la linda (*la jolie).  Une magnifique Chevrolet verte comne une pomme des années 50 nous attend. Mais Randy, notre chauffeur a ses petits secrets: on le surnomme  "le changero", le mcgiver local. "Changa" sa voiture est d'apparence usée (sauf les sièges et les ressorts qui dépassent) mais possède à l'intérieur l'air conditionné (au conditionnel), un écran video pour la radio et le clou du spectacle, un compteur vitesse...sur son téléphone portable. La voiture file sur l'autoroute vetuste et les routes de traverse afin d'arriver chez notre hôte à Viñales. Deuxième contact avec Cuba: partager notre premier mojito!!

Major Highlights of Union Budget 2017

You would be already aware that union budget for this year has been announced, which is the latest news India. Finance Minister- Arun Jaitley presented the Union budget.  We will be discussing the major highlights for this year's budget. 

* The first highlight of the budget is, Govt. is planning to liberalize FDI policies.  

* Income tax rates have been cut upto 5 pc for individuals who have income between 2.5 lakhs to 5 lakhs.  

* Individuals who have income above 50 lakh and upto 1 crore will face 10 pc surcharge.  

* Individuals with incomes above 1 crore, will continue to face 15 pc surcharge.  

* More steps will be taken by the government to raise the weaker sections such as farmers and others.  

* Pace of remonetization has been quicker. It is predicted that people will not face the effects of demonetization in the next year.  

* There has been a drop in the revenue deficit from 2.1 pc to 2.3 pc.  

* After demonetization, GDP is predicted to be cleaner and bigger this year.  

* IMF has predicted that India will continue to grow in the coming years.  

* There has been 36 pc increase in the FDI flow. Forex reserves USD 361 billion in January to meet the 12 months needs.  

* Finance Minister also stated that they have moved from discretionary based admimistration to policy based admimistration.  

* It is expected that the agriculture sector will grow at rate of 4.1  pc this fiscal.  

* Commitment of doubling farm income in next 5 years.  

* Qualified entrepreneurs will set up soil testing centers.  

* The government is also targeting to bring one crore households and 50,000 gram panchayats.  

* It is also expected that Mahila Shakti Kendra will be set up with an allocation of Rs 500 crore in 14 lakh Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Anganwadi centres.

* The national housing bank will spend Rs 20,000 crore  for housing loans.

* Finance Minister has also allocated Rs 23,000 crore for building houses for the poor in rural areas during fiscal year 2017-2018.  

Top economists predicted that the GDP could hit following the move of Narendra Modi. Finance Minister- Arun Jaitley has spoken about strengthening the plight and condition of the farmers and the poor. Motilal Oswal reacted that mutual funds will not be impacted by changes in the policies of LTCG tax. On the other hand, Sandeep tendon tweeted that government needs to move forward towards continuous ETF’s divestment. Gautham Chhaochharay reacted that

momentum of earnings will not be a drag on markets.  While Hiren Ved said that divestment is the best for raising the resources of the  Government.  

Everybody is having its own opinion about the Union budget announced by Finance Minister yesterday. This is the second step taken my Modi Government followed by demonetization.  Lets see how the things turn out to be.
