I think a lot of you people would like mastodon if you knew how it worked

Ways that the QSMP could be funded without breaking Quackity’s bank:

Patreon: opening a qsmp patreon with different rewards (admin pov streams, exclusive merch, behind the scenes, HD quality of the art used on the server) might be the easiest way to get funds for the server, and it does not need to use q’s money to start (the qsmp yt channel memberships can also work like this)

Constant Merch: we have been asking for merch since the brazilians arrived and the translator was added as we have always known that it is a very expensive investment. egg merch is the most obvious way as they are perfect marketable plushies but also cucurucho and now the bunnies are amazing for a variety of things (plushies, keychains, stickers). the only bad thing about this is that q would have to pay for the initial drop.

Sponsorships: i think i have never seen quackity do a sponsored stream like… ever. the closest sponsor i see happening would of course be duolingo as a lot of qsmp members have been doing duolingo ON stream ever since the server started (and even before in foosh’s case)

Joining an Org: i see this one as the very last ditch effort but joining an org like offlinetv would help q with the server’s finances

i love the qsmp and i would hate seeing the project end because quackity decided to pay the admins after someone shit face admin decided to go on a power trip

the youngest mclaren driver stood off to the side, nervous for his first ever formula one grand prix. his teammate seemed less nervous, but still nervous to a certain degree. oscar truly didn't want to fuck this up, not after everything that happened in the last 6 months for him. he noticed a brunette girl staring at him from across the pitlane, she gave him a small wave before turning to go back inside the redbull garage.

the younger brunette turned to look at the slightly older one, "who was that?"

the older one turned to look at him, “you don’t stand a chance. she's checo's niece, very overprotective that man is. not excluding you know, max and daniel. take it from me, i've tried.” 

“i asked who she was not if you tried to get her number.” 

“oh, i have her number, but i have a girlfriend, you pastry. matter of fact," lando said, "you have her number too."

“it’s piastri! you know this!” oscar shouted as lando skipped, literally skipped, away from him. oscar rolled his eyes at the older drivers actions before turning to go back inside the mclaren garage.

the brunette girl stood outside the redbull garage again, with daniel ricciardo at her side. she turned to look at the empty spot oscar had once been in, then back at daniel, “can't believe i still think he's cute. he's the enemy.” 

daniel laughed, "he's not the enemy isa. you're allowed to have a crush on someone." 

isabella rolled her eyes, running a hand through her hair, “i hope him the best at shit-claren.” 

“isa!”

isabella had been so focused on her phone and texting back the others that she didn’t notice the person coming at her. she crashed into the person and her phone fell to the floor, landing with a loud crack. at least the crack sounded loud to her, but not louder than the ‘mierda’ she let out. she bent down to pick up her phone and so did the person she had bumped into, both reached for her phone, bumping heads.

“fuck,” isabella softly whispered, “you have a hard head,” she told the other person as she rubbed her head.

the person laughed, “guess that’s a good thing for an f1 driver.”

isabella’s eyes slightly widened when she realized who she had bumped into. she would recognize an australian accent anywhere, she had grown up near daniel ricciardo. oscar piastri was too busy inspecting her phone for any cracks to notice the expression she had made. he handed her the phone as both stood to their full heights, he was noticeably taller than her.

"no cracks," oscar told her as he handed back her phone. she smiled politely at him, "thanks."

"and your friends are blowing up your phone. i think you had like 10 messages come in while i was checking to see if it had any cracks. not that i read them-"

isabella waved him off, "it's just max and danny, they were arguing about who had the horniest songs written about them."

oscar laughed, "i'm oscar piastri."

"i know, i'm isabella perez" she replied, "i saw your alpine tweet, plus arthur talks about you a lot."

"i know," oscar replied, "arthur leclerc? you two know each other?" he questioned as they began walking together. isabella didn't know where he had originally been heading but now the two were walking back to their hotels.

before alex could reply a ding interrupted him and caused isabella to look down at her phone. her eyes widened, and she handed her phone over to alex, "can you give this to max or danny later? i'm catching a flight on air-max later tomorrow."

alex nodded, "see you in glendale. or sooner."

"bye alex, bye logan, bye piastri!" isabella shouted as she ran off. logan looked confused between isabella's phone and alex, "why'd she give you her phone?"

the phone dinged again and alex sighed as he switched the phone to silent, "it's quite the story, one that either isa or dulce should tell you, not me."

"okay," logan said, he turned to oscar, "why'd she call you piastri?"

"oh, i called her bella," oscar replied, as if it was the easiest thing in the world. alex's eyes widned and logan knew their was a story there but he didn't pry. he wasn't close to any of the other drivers besides oscar, so he wasn't going to ask. he could be nosy sometimes but even he knew his limits. alex didn't want to talk about isabella's phone so maybe the phone had something to do with calling her bella.

"surprised you're still standing," alex said, "last time someone called her bella she kicked him in the nuts, and they had just met. he stopped calling her bella after that."

the two rookies exchanged looks as alex pocketed isabella's phone and pulled out his own phone and began to type furiously on it. logan's phone dinged moment's later but he ignored it, not wanting to make oscar suspicious. however, when his phone kept dinging oscar turned to him curiously and logan waved him off, silencing his phone.

"just friends from home, they were planing a party," logan quickly lied. oscar shrugged him off and logan was quick to divert the conversation to a random topic.

Fucking why. Customer comes up in the middle of dinner rush and the first words out of his mouth are: "I just wanted to say, I'm disappointed" which you just know is gonna go into a long rant. So I'm trying to juggle serving people their food and listen to him bitch while he's holding up the register, going on his spiel about how he was dissatisfied with the portion sizes. And honestly? I get it. I think our portion sizes for certain things suck. It's something I've been suggesting to my boss we need to adjust for ages. But thats the thing, I as an employee have no power. I can make suggestions, but aside from putting my own job in jeopardy by idfk striking or something I can't do much more then that (and god knows I don't give enough shits abt the customers to risk my own income for them). So I tell him where the suggestion box is, where he can find channels to contact corporate and advise him to forward any complaints he has there and he's like, "No, YOU have to tell them. I've made complaints there before and it's useless. You employees have to say something"

At this point I'm over getting yelled at for things beyond my control so I just straight up tell him that I have even less power then the stupid box in what decisions my bosses make and there's nothing I can do for him. Ik I probs should've just said "I'll do that right away sir :)" to end the conversation n make him feel like he got what he wanted, but fuck that. I'm not getting 'called out' for following a policy I didn't even make. Cherry on top was him pulling the whole "Well you've just lost a customer" as he was leaving. Okay? And?? Lose one, ten more come in to take their place. Big woop.

Bottom line is, stop fucking getting pissy with employees over issues OUT OF THEIR CONTROL. Prices, portion sizes, changes to the business, none of that shit is up to us! I'm going to be removing my involvement in the gimmickverse project.

Because at the state it's in, it's not going anywhere. And I hate to have to be the one to say it.

And no, I don't think it's me being pessimistic. It's way too hard to do with the current set up and the lack of organization. Plus, the server gives me bad vibes, for a couple reasons.

Not saying that any other mods are bad people, just that the server gives me bad vibes. Don't harass anyone.

One of the reasons is, despite it being at least 90% minors, there's a NSFW channel. And while right now it's mainly jokes, however that's still not okay imo. Kids can easily access it. And what if someone decides to actually send something inappropriate and kids see things they aren't ever meant to? Plus, for a server that's supposed to be focused on making a project, it shouldn't be there.

There's also like...a weird culture around stealing people's organs and such. It's weird. Like...it's gross. I never liked it. Like it's just really uncomfortable, and minors really don't need to be talking about that. Let alone joking about it. I can understand a joke here or there, but like for a long while it was the only joke. And it was fucking weird as shit.

Also there's barely any rules. Which is eh...And the #rules , #welcome-and-rules and #welcome channels are way too confusing.

Also, like. Did people actually think this'd be successful? Especially with how 99% of people have things to do outside of this. And how it wouldn't be feasible to get most gimmicks in a show. Especially not the way it was planned. It's not even organized at all!

Also I don't like the system where anyone can become an admin tbh. I managed to get admin because I won a hunger games simulation. And all you have to do to get admin is talk a lot. That's...stupid. You. Don't. Give. Admin. Roles. To. Everyone. Who. Talks. A. Lot. It'll end up terribly. Keep in mind, you can completely destroy a server w/ admin perms if you wanted.

Also they use MEE6 as a bot on there...which I find really icky, as MEE6 has scammed a ton of people and just barely has any morals. Also they support AI art. Gross.

But yeah I'm leaving the project. Good luck on it, and I hope you get something out of it.

One time I was on a discord server, I was in my early 20s (I'm still in my 20s tbf), server for the collecting of a certain item type. Some random drama happened with a user claiming to be abused at home, we tried to help. Girl got kicked because people got too sus about it.

Anyway, because I had been involved speaking to her, one of the mods contacted me in the DMs. Told me about the situation, and I was kinda shocked, so I asked a few extra questions. Call them Mod15

Well another mod then contacted me, and told me that Mod15 was talking shit about me, for asking the questions about the situation, and that Mod15 IS 15!!! I had no idea. That mod was really mad at Mod15 because 1) she didn't like that a mod was just 15 years old. 2) the mod had basically bought themselves into the role by buying the server nitro. 3) the admin didn't do anything/incredibly passive. Let's call that mod: ModP

I showed ModP the conversation with Mod15, and showed her that my talk with him was pretty basic bitch. But man did I fucking feel disgusted by this. I never contacted Mod15, he contacted ME. I deleted my entire talk with him. It was basically just "What happened? Is everyone ok? Do you know if she's ok." that stuff.

Side info: When I joined I also asked if they'd have a NSFW channel, just "because" it kinda was the norm to have one if the hobby had a lot of adults, even if it wouldn't contain anything sexually explicit. So it was made, but there was very little happening all things considered.

Well skip forward a few weeks. We had a vent channel, and Idk how it started. (I still have the screenshots from start to finish somewhere on another discord with a friend, but I'd need to look for them.)

But for some reason we started talking about how minors, who're minors entering the 18+ channel should be kicked from the server. The admin only made the NSFW channel "click to confirm" instead of role based, which is something that was discussed later between him and the mods I was told my ModP later. (Or another Mod I got to know.)

And guess whoms't but Mod15 would freak the fuck out and start an entire thing about it. He said we couldn't demand this blah blah. One argument he had was shit like "Well we see things like these on twitter, so why care if we see it here." and like, because this is a closed space. A lot of that kinda logic, that it wasn't a problem finding 18+ content anywhere on the web, and we shouldn't bitch about it.

Hell even some other minor and a lot of adults said that this was not a good point to make, and that these warnings and channels aren't made to "just keep minors safe", but to keep adults safe as well. And that adults have a right to want spaces where minors can't and won't enter. Anyway, this went on for far too long. I mean I think this thing went on for a few hours. Mod15 also freaked out when someone suggested making it role only.

Mod15 admitted to having entered the NSFW channel, which wasn't the great point he was trying to make, and one of the other adults admitted to having shared some bodypillow designs with Mod15. Which also wasn't a particular flex you'd make tbh.

ModP contacted me in that time, and another Mod, ModT, and they were actually annoyed that the Admin refused to do anything, and still wanted to keep Mod15. They had apparently also tried to make some specific roles before, but Admin just didn't wanna do it. You know, roles that give you identifiers such as "minor, male, female, adult" or pronouns etc.

They asked me if I could talk to Admin, and I did try, but Admin was so fucking passive, he said "Well, the problem was that you had asked about the NSFW channel." Not the fact that a minor decided that this was a free invitation to enter, or that the minor decided he had the random right to contact me about something, and then bitch about me to the other mods. That's when I decided I couldn't deal with this and left, if he couldn't even see how annoying it had gotten. At that point the collection discord had also grown considerably in size, because it got the "official (collectors) server" on reddit as well, and I didn't wanna stick around for the shitshow.

Extra info: The server did have an "introduction" channel, but it didn't have roles to give identifiers. And as probably anyone on a slightly bigger server would know, you start muting a lot of channels quickly. Admin tried to blame me for not checking the channel, in his DMs to me, when at that time there were constantly people joining and I had like half the channels muted to begin with.

This is the pinnacle of the currently ongoing russian fandom part drama. Hey Isa!! So I haven’t really been following the QSMP, I’ll admit, but I heard about the recent angst of the “Cage for a cage” situation, and I’m very intrigued! What are Philza and Wilbur’s stories in the QSMP? I’d love to know more! Also where could I find all their footage to catch up?

Well Wilbur's sorta yeeted into the void bc of Lovejoy things, so there's not much to talk about on his front. He has his egg daughter Talullah, who Phil is looking after and has adopted as his own at this point bc its been months, and that's kinda it as far as major keypoints go for Wilbur lore. That and he canonized (or tried to?) him/Phil father/son dynamics again. Haven't heard much from the community if we accepted that as canon or as a Wilbur Bit Because Of Course He Tried To Canonize That Again.

Phil lore on the other hand. OUGH. I don't know where to start, it feels like so little and so much at the same time. Which is funny bc this motherfucker is so allergic to lore despite being a bomb ass rper (I have 11+ years experience rping, this man is rp veteran approved). I get timezones exist and whatnot & he's usually 3-4 hours into a stream already by the time he gets on QSMP to begin with, but he dodged so much of The Horrors for so long. This week has been an outlier and the crows are suffering thriving.

As far as his lore (in a simplified tldr) goes: Ancient bird man wired for nothing but survival gets plopped on a weird island with other English speakers & Spanish speakers. Shit Is Weird And Continues To Be, but all the islanders make friends with eacg other. They're *emotionally slams fist on table* levels of tightknit. Phil especially is always so ready to help anyone out. Timeskip a month or so, Island Federation decides to play matchmaker and then make said matches parents. They're given a dragon's eggs because Dragon Gone ??? Phil acquires egg kid and raises them to be a careful & loving powerhouse like himself (& then later gets second egg kid who's meant to be Wilbur's) only for the island he's stuck on to throw every wrench at him they can in the form of mobs, federation people, trivial ass tasks given by said feds, and more. The longer things go on the worse they get, and ancient man's biggest weakness is his two kids who keep getting used against him. But ancient bird man is an anarchist, this federation can pound sand. Federation doesn't like that! Ancient bird man get punished. (And that's skipping chunks of things, but I have the memory of a peanut so I'll leave better summaries to someone better equipped.) Also when he's not experiencing the horrors he has at least 4 other men thirsting for him at any given time and he donowalls their advances beautifully while also playing into their flirting and thirsting at the same time because he has No /R Thoughts, Only Goddess Wife and egg children. Goddess wife also encourages his unintentional yaoi-ing.

I DO know you can catch up on QSMP lore via the official recap channel "QSMP Info" on YouTube! There's two videos out so far so the recaps aren't caught up to date yet, but they're made by the admins of the server, so they're thorough and accurate.

There's also a Phil VODs channel that's run by one of the most devoted PEGS (Philza Early Gang Society, Phil's offline chatters <3) in the crow community. I'm sure they have every single QSMP vod uploaded (but strap in, Phil's not a 1-3 hour stream andy, he's a 5-8 hour stream chad). Most times, he does Hardcore first then QSMP later (though I think a few times while playing TOTK he'd get on later too so ??? Good luck?) so realistically despite being a 5-8 hour stream chad, there's only 2-4 hours of QSMP in the vod, you just gotta skim through the last half of the vod. For reference, you'll want to search for vods from March 22nd, 2023 to now. That's how long QSMP has been going. It'd be laborious to fish out every crumb of QSMP stream time but I do genuinely think it's worth it just to see how things on the island develop and why so many people are screaming about The Horrors every day.

I'm sure you could also scrape around YouTube for like. Fanmade recaps, perhaps even Phil-centric ones, though I'd be wary of ones that have character analysis rather than just the plain ol stream content a) because they won't have every bit of footage & b) Sometimes People Are Wrong About Characters. You could also dig for clips of major moments (Phil has some on his Phil Clips YT but they're mostly funny) but that'd probably not give you the whole picture if you wanna be slamming your fists on the table and screaming like a monkey with the rest of us LOL.

There's also plenty of livebloggers who scream as streams progress, so check out some tags maybe. The main one is probably #qsmp liveblogging but that'll be any & all member POVs so it's not the most helpful resource but an idea nonetheless. You'd probably be better off looking through #qsmp philza or #q!philza or something, you'd just have to sift through creative works, memes & shitposts too.

Any crows who follow me that might have more/better resources are welcome & encouraged to reblog or reply to this and add Phil lore summaries (and your character analyses bc Phil mains are trustworthy) or more things to check out in order to get all the Good Shit Lore(TM) btw!

Multilingual server my ass all the federation workers speak english and very occasionally spanish. Fuck french and portuguese right? One of my co managers got covid Thanksgiving week, and another co manager is out recovering from surgery. so we all ended up shifting schedules around to cover.

The way it happened to work for me, was that Thanksgiving was my only day off, so technically I didn't have a day off that week. I wasn't the only one to lose my days off tho and thats just being a manager.

But the SM who does the schedule said that he gave me 3 days off in a row, one of which will be a paid floating holiday just as a thank you to me.

basically what happened is that the server owner, within the first day i was in the server, decided to for some reason derail the conversation happening in general into NSFW, and they posted cropped nsfw, and asked IN GENERAL whether anyone wanted the full. this contradicts THEIR OWN SERVER RULES which says if you post nsfw you need to spoiler it and add in text WHAT you spoilered. i tried to point this out, and they spoilered it (But didnt add text describing the context...) and basically immediately started guilt tripping in front of everyone, which completely destroyed the conversation me and other people were having in that channel. they said shit like "i thought i was a friend but i guess to you people on the server im just a messenger for the asks" and "nobody likes me", garbage like that makes my blood boil and i promptly left the server and told them to take me off the list. it made more than just me uncomfortable too, i talked to somebody in the server in dms and he said he also felt uncomfortable and didnt like how the situation was handled. i paraphrased the quotes but it was along those lines, as close as i can remember, i didnt take screenshots because i was so mad i couldnt focus. i absolutely advise to stay away from this server, with a owner as immature as that.

but also, this is just about the owner, i dont know much else literally because i had to leave promptly. idk what goes on in the server now but i wouldnt say its peaceful

scout without a doubt. im Not on tiktok so all i know about it from watching commentary youtubers talk about shit i dont care about in the background while i do other stuff, but he would absolutely get sucked into that weird NPC trend. I can see him watching it for hours, then deciding he'd be suuuuper popular if he did it. He does get super popular but its only because people make a game of getting him to break character which is super easy and happens constantly. he's constantly getting into fights with people and is only popular because he becomes this big punching bag laughing stock. Scout of course has no idea about this and thinks he's Finally Made It as an influencer until admin finds out he's been livestreaming from the base and has him shot live on stream and has all traces of his account scrubbed (though some people still got screen recordings) and it becomes this sort of internet true crime obsession for years.

I think Pyro downloaded it to play with filters and got sad when they didn't work on the gas mask. i could see them having a 'does it burn' type channel where the ending clip no matter what it started with or how small it was is always a massive inferno with their thumbs up in the corner and people go wild for it

I joined a discord server ran by people in my region. one keyword search for "trans" throughout the server shows that anyone who's felt the need to preemptively make a bad faith argument justifying why they played the harry potter game (remember that?) or why they love hazbin hotel despite the "controversial views of the creator" is still around or even a mod/admin but anyone who's ever mentioned being trans is long gone. guess people like me aren't welcome there!

another server advertised as being for lgbt people in my region was choc full of teenagers hurling slurs at each other with a dedicated channel for fandom discourse. I've been on tumblr for nearly a decade I don't need to start subjecting myself to that shit now. bye
