A new Sunday! Meredith’s whim is to be friendly to a non-household sim, which lines up nicely with my plans. My plans to invite people over to ask about NAPs! And repealing them! Oh man, failure on Shulk. That ain’t good. We only got Agatha and two other random folk Meredith somehow is vaguely aware of. Oh and Moria Fyres! Thank you random call asking about the Flea Market. ...which I wish I could go but man, I got NAPs. Politics! Also, all of the calls about befriending Simeon are returing. Only one not interested is Leslie. Not bad at all. Next is Agatha and she immedately set to cross-stiching. ...which honestly sounds like something Meredith would be interested in. Let me get a cross-stich thing in this house! Annnd no dice on Agatha as well. Come on over Moria! A yes from Moria! Thank you! Random scientist number 1! Jonathon, who’s squeemish evidently. Not a good trait for a Scientist I’d wager. Also high maintenance. Yep, those traits go well together, mmhm! Annnnd, success! All five repeal signatures got! Now we can get back to Meredith’s whims again. To make money!

Some woodcarvings later and we got 100 simoloeans. But that’s not enough for me. I want a bit of a stash of woodcarvings. Oh and Markus got level 5 communication and level 5 movement while Meredith was doing other things. Just chatting with strangers and running around. Everyone’s gone now and Markus is tired out. So it’s time to read to sleep. While Meredith heads back to her woodworking table to woodwork some more! And laundry. Gotta make that money. ...OH SNAP I FORGOT IT WAS A WORK DAY! TO BED! TO BED!

Manabu Matsuda in the Matsuda household has died. Manabu thought he could conquer the mountain, but the mountain conquered him.

Another day to rise and go to work at. And desperately trying to help with Markus’s needs before Meredith heads off. Also the bills rolled in. Again. Ho boy, we’re under 10,000. I don’t like that! Anyway, that means Markus gains more skills...and also comes home hungry and with low fun. Again, what do they do at those daycares? Meredith tends to both his needs and hers and with what little time we have before bed, I set her up to cross-stitch. It only made 90 simoleans, 10 more than the initial price. Yeesh. I had to sell one of my saved woodworks in order to get that 100 similoean whim. Ah well. To bed once more.

Autumn Truong in the Truong household has died. Autumn stayed in the sun a little too long and overheated.

Robin Harkins in the Harkins household has died. Shockingly, Robin botched a repair and was electrocuted.

...lets add in one more day of work. It’s the work-from-home day even. The job asks for filing a legal motion and researching current case. Welp. Let’s get to work. But first, the toddler needs a bath. And food. Food for both. And then it’s playtime around the house while Meredith files that legal motion. Then we head off for the library. The case marker was quickly settled because someone swore and that took Meredith off the computer. Of which, I call cheating. So I resettled her back in to research. Besides which, she needs to level up that Research and Debate skill! It’s literally what’s holding her back from a promotion. Research done, and after waking up a napping Markus, it’s time to return home. He’s hungry and she’s about to be. So food and then sleep time for both.

Mayuzumi see his wife trying out her old wedding dress

Contrary to popular belief, Mayuzumi wasn’t that insensitive to things around him. He was more receptive to things around him that people gave him credit for - small changes in behaviour, little quirks that gave away their intentions, even word choices that showed their thoughts. He’d gotten used it after all that misdirecting back in high school.

The two of you had been married for quite some time now, and had reached the age where invitations to other couples’ children’s weddings were common. Neither of you had a problem with that, on the surface - you didn’t have children, and it wasn’t as though you were bitter about other people’s children getting married.

The problem, Mayuzumi noticed, was the wedding itself.

You missed it, he could tell. The extravagance, the music, the flowers, the food, the dress. The attention, the love and the laughter, the sadness and the crying, everything that the marriage stood for.

Sure enough, not long after attending yet another wedding, Mayuzumi once came home to find you absent from working at the table. At first puzzled, but getting an inkling of what you were doing, he made his way up to the bedroom without calling for you.

The door of the bedroom was half-open and Mayuzumi could hear the faint rustling of plastic, and the flash of something white-grey through the gap in the door.

“_____?” Mayuzumi pushed the door open. “What are you up to?”

You spun around and Mayuzumi felt his breath catch in his throat. Part of him had expected this, but he still hadn’t been prepared. To see you in your wedding dress again, to still fit into it and look exactly the same as that fateful day so many years ago.

The silver beads were greyish now and the white lace was beginning to yellow, and the silk skirts no longer shone the same way under the weak lighting, and yet Mayuzumi thought you still looked just as beautiful.

“Chihiro?” You looked embarrassed. “I’m sorry, this is…I just couldn’t help myself, I’ll change out of it immediately—”

“No, don’t.” Mayuzumi interrupted. “Why would you want to? Just wear it.”

You stared at him. “Pardon?”

Mayuzumi shrugged. “You felt like wearing it, and now you’re wearing it. Who cares?”

“That’s…”

“And while you’re at it, if you want to, we’ll have another wedding ceremony. We’ll invite everyone, we’ll eat cake, we’ll throw the bouquet to some other to-be couple.” Mayuzumi’s voice softened. “Whatever makes you happy. If you want something, I’ll do my best to give it to you. That’s what it means to marry you, isn’t it?”

You blinked, eyes suspiciously wet. “You’re a horrible person, you know. Now I really want to do those things and it’s all going to come out of your pocket.”

“Yeah, well, all the money’s gotta go somewhere.” Mayuzumi kissed you on the forehead and hugged you tight. “Now, seeing as neither of us have made dinner, do you want to go out to eat? You can wear that dress out and make all the young girls jealous and their boyfriends uncomfortable.”

You smacked him on the shoulder, but you were grinning. “I really can?”

“Sure, why not?” Mayuzumi held out his arm for you. “Now, shall we?”

Mayuzumi cleared his throat. “This isn’t fair, you know.”

“Huh? What is?”

“You.” Now Mayuzumi looked away, hiding his blush. “It’s not fair that after so many years you can still look amazing in your wedding clothes.”

You spluttered. “What? Chihiro, people don’t change that much in ten years.”

“Well, I’ve always been a rebel,” Mayuzumi commented dryly, patting his stomach, and you threw your head back, laughing.

Hello Naughty Children it’s Admin London’s Headcanon Time

Po Town wasn’t actually cursed by Tapu Bulu or any such nonsense. The reason it’s abandoned and overrun by homeless teenagers is because the buildings within the walls (as well as the walls themselves) were shoddily built.

The large wall around the area was actually a sea wall meant to lessen the impact of a tsunami or a tropical storm. The houses were meant to be multimillion dollar investments for a company funded by the majority of upper crust society. They wanted all of the best: the best Pokémon Center, the best homes, the best schools for their children, even the best private beaches that would have been only accessible to residents or champions.

The Skull Base Mansion was actually a large clubhouse/bed and breakfast that would have allowed only affluent trainers to experience a taste of Po Town’s luxurious lifestyle. And perhaps, with luck, these trainers would plunk down money on a house and come to live there.

Not everything was built up to code however. The construction workers were all underpaid and given cheap materials from which to build with (think Fyre Fest in terms of planning and spending). The investors spent more time pocketing money and trying to cut corners rather than making sure to give the people the best of the best. Houses were completed as well as the clubhouse, and already the buyers were sending out their goods to be moved in. Expensive furnishings and paintings were sent in to the homes, and the town seemed ready to begin.

Unfortunately, a big spring storm swept through and showed the residents just how little the CEOs and investors cared about the town and its placement. The location was in the worst place: the direct path of the storm. The sea wall was the only thing that held up, but still it began crumbling in places that would be visible when Guzma and his kids took it over. Houses were torn to shreds. The Pokémon Center was nearly demolished and suffered a great amount of water damage. The roads were littered with debris. Beds and personal items of the home buyers were ruined (water can do that to expensive imports), and in short everyone lost millions of dollars in investments.

The home buyers got together and sued the company that had tried putting the town together in the first place, and with their collective finances and lawyers they won.

In short, the company went bankrupt, and other builders and companies were so reluctant to get involved with such a scandalous plot of land that every offer to rebuild on it was backed off on. When Team Skull took it over, the authorities were told to turn a blind eye and nothing was done to prevent them from squatting on the premises. The wealthy denied any involvement with the financing of such a cheaply made town, and instead began spreading rumors that the town was cursed by the guardian deities. To this day, you will not find a wealthy person willing to admit they purchased property in Po Town, lest they should be ostracized and laughed out of high society.

Rave Family Block Fest Earns “Fyre Festival” Title On First Day Of Programming

Rave Family Block Fest, pka Electric Blockaloo, the massive Minecraft festival that claimed to have over 950 artists and 65 stages over four days, is currently going through massive opening day bugs. The festival was called a Fyre Fest on Reddit almost a month ago, and now it seems to have earned that designation, though it’s only the first day.

Firstly, many users were caught off guard that there is no actual music in the festival. Though other Minecraft festivals have done it this same way, due to the scope of this one, it has many users who are new and unfamiliar with the platform and weren’t aware that music cannot be streamed through the game (at least not the vanilla game). Instead, users are required to find their desired stage in-game and then go to either Mixcloud or the festival’s website and stream the music there — for free.

While this was apparently laid out to users in an introductory email before the festival, many claim they never received the email or were simply misled from the beginning about what to expect.

All of this was compounded with an unexpected Mixcloud server maintenance this morning which resulted in the platform going down when the festival was scheduled to start, meaning that there was no music.

A second issue is with users even getting into the game. Unless you’re a seasoned Minecraft player or gamer in general or have been active in their Discord (which has been receiving complaints and inundated with requests for refunds all morning), accessing the festival’s servers is more than just difficult. The instructions for that were apparently also laid out in either the same email about music or a separate one, but the same issue persists: users either didn’t receive the email or instructions weren’t made easy to understand.

Two servers are active: Bedrock and Java, which you have to pay for individually. According to users in the Discord, there are currently (as of 12:15pm PT) 26 people on Bedrock and just 77 in Java. And because you pay for them individually, switching servers is like purchasing a whole new game. Meaning if your server is underpopulated, too bad. It’s unclear what the expectations for this festival were, but the fact that there aren’t even one ninth of the attendees as DJs booked on its first day isn’t a good sign no matter how you slice it.

A third issue is navigation. Again, unless you’re a seasoned Minecraft player or gamer in general, movement in Minecraft, let alone from one massive area to another, is confusing at best and impossible at worst. Users are left stumbling around the virtual world or just succumbing to the location where they were spawned in-game.

One of the admins in the RFBF Discord server shared this map with users, but it has no identifying landmarks or any labels whatsoever. When another user asked “how are we supposed to know which stage is which? by any chance could we get that labeled or will we have to do that,” he responded, “Sorry, if I had anything else to give you I would. That’s all I’ve got at the moment.” It only spells to the overall lack of organization and forethought from the festival which was already delayed two weeks due to a planned Minecraft update.

The functionality of the game itself is also experiencing major issues, with many users reporting falling down literal holes in the game and being unable to get back up, or getting stuck in “mosh pits” unable to move. No one can chat in the game, either, according to messages in the Discord.

Beyond the user experience, artists and management are being caught off-guard by the unpreparedness, as well. According to our sources, artist contracts had nothing in them about mixes being public. Avatars for artists were also supposed to be created by the festival team but as they were running out of time, told teams to create the avatars themselves or else there just wouldn’t be one. One manager reports that it took an hour just to create one avatar — again, there are over 950 “booked” to perform.

All of this doesn’t even begin to address how this festival is supposed to function on the mobile version of the game.

Overall, the festival overextended itself by leaps and bounds and took way too much under its wings. In pursuit of a larger than life experience, many details were left lacking or completely overlooked, and the users are paying the price. Or not — many have flooded the Discord server with requests for refunds.

A Mojang Studios spokesperson said, “Millions of people around the world use Minecraft as a platform to socially connect and express their imaginations in limitless ways. Rave Family Block Fest is not officially sanctioned by Mojang Studios and we have not partnered with organizers of the event.”

Your EDM has reached out to representatives of Mixloud and the festival for comment but have not heard back at time of publishing.
