Letter writing prompts
Hi tumblr, I need some advice.
I want to take part in some kind of activity where you get assigned to a (more or less) random stranger to whom you should wirte letters, approx. one per week for a duration of about 6 to 24 months. I find it quite hard to some up with ideas on what to tell somebody I’ve never met and probably never will, so I would love to get some of your ideas. The more, the better.

Alright, resolution number two is complete!
As I posted earlier this week...my second resolution was to Skype someone.  Well, I'm one lucky girl, and I got to Skype someone extremely meaningful.
You see, I support two soldiers who are in Afghanistan fighting for our great country right now. I "support" them by sending them letters, emails, and care packages. One of the soldiers that I support emailed me this week and said that he didn't know if he would be able to talk much in the next couple of weeks, so he wondered if he could video call me on Skype to talk for a bit. I smiled to myself as I thought of my resolution, and I emailed him back with a very sure "Yes!"  So, just one day after drawing that slip of paper that said "Skype Someone," I had the great opportunity to Skype with Lance Corporal Miller of the United States Marines.
I see this last week's resolution as having been less of a resolution, and more of a good fortune.  Like I should of had to break open a cookie and pull out that slip of paper that read "Skype Someone," rather than just drawing it out of a used paper Christmas bag.
Talking to my, now, friend LcPl Miller is a great joy to me.  We have come to be fast friends and that is exactly how it should be when "adopting" a soldier to support.  I strongly encourage each one of you who read my blog to make an account on www.AdoptAUSSoldier.org and enter your name to be assigned a soldier to support.  It means so much to each and every one of our brave men and women. It's the least that we can do after all that they do for us every day.
