(Fairfield, San Francisco Bay Area, California) Hi, my name is Nugget! I’m about 2-years-old and am told I’m sweet, smart, and silly in many ways. I love getting the zoomies and exploring any new places I can! I also love to be held and cuddled until I fall asleep. I will return the favor with love nibbles and kisses. My current living situation hasn’t been ideal, so a wonderful person has stepped in and is temporarily taking care of me. Adoption Tags

I'm an actual, real, human, adoptee/ex-foster child. I believe I'm allowed to use all the tags that non-adoptees have used to advertise "adoption" of their characters, of their dogs, of all the things that are not human children who have been removed from their parents.

Adoptees are 2% of the population, a highly diverse group who have all suffered trauma, and the very language used to discuss us has been appropriated by non-adoptees to sell their products.

In Baltimore County, MD: "Oh hello there, I'm Bella Bell! I'm glad I caught your attention because I've been waiting for you to find me! I was surrendered to the shelter with my sister initially and have been adopted and returned twice since, all at no fault of my own. I unfortunately just can't seem to catch a break and am hoping third times the charm. I'm a pretty shy girl when I meet new people, and who can blame me with all I've been through. But if you go slow with me and are patient and kind, I warm up pretty quickly. Even though I come off as timid I'm actually a very affectionate gal once I'm comfortable and very active! I'm looking for someone who will be patient and understanding with me while I get settled in and comfortable but will also be able to keep up with me once I open up. I would love a large yard of my own to run around and play in, and a best friend to stay active and play with me as well. I just want someone to see me for the sweet, silly girl I am, and love me for me, quirks and all! Because of my initial shyness, I would do best in a home with older children and would need to meet any dogs in the home as well. I love most dogs I meet but can come off a bit strong sometimes and would want to make sure we get along well. But enough talk, let me win you over in person!"

*how did she get the nickname bean?

(I love giving multiple nicknames regardless of their actual name!) My ‘child’ who is actually named Nala gets called seal 🦭 way too many times, she has plenty other random nicknames

Nala sounds like such a sweetheart!

Everyone loves bean and she’s such a sweetheart she’d probably cuddle with anyone 🥹 So the story of how Ellie got her many nicknames over the years since we’ve adopted her they just kinda happen, since she’s deaf we like to think she just knows we’re talking about her.

Now the way she got her nickname bean is because of the pads of her paws they just look like little beans

Exhibit A

She’s a staffie and they have the nickname “land seal” because they do generally look like one if you think about then look at them.

Her other nicknames include

-> elliebelly

-> bubba / bubs

-> land seal 🦭

-> bean / beans

-> stinky (because if you have dogs you know their farts can be so bad 😂💀)

-> cuddlebug she loves snuggling into my side just to sleep or just lay there it’s so sweet 🥹

-> lovebug

-> piglet ( she breaths loud because she old bless her and it sounds like a little piggy sometimes)

-> spot or patch (she’s got two massive patches on her stomach and left back leg that are brown and shes bridal white hense why she’s deaf it’s common in her breed and it’s a bittersweet story how we adopted her because she is deaf no one really even considered adopting her but my sister found her on the rspca website and we went to go meet her and the rest was history.

The funny thing is the first time we met her I was really scared and we’re talking like almost 8 years ago we adopted her she jumped up in front of me, sniffed me and peed on the table and to be honest it was quite funny because we didn’t expect it. 😂 She has so many that we don’t really call her ellie anymore 😭😭

Ok so, very rarely do I post about my personal life on this blog for many reasons. But yall I've got to vent for a moment.

😤

I do alot to help in my community for abandoned animals, I just found out that one of the girls who also contributed alot to this failed to get her dog spayed and is now needing help getting rid of puppies.

Like yalllllllll this is a major problem in my area, people don't get their pets fixed (and we have fundraisers for spays/neuters, vets sometimes do free or discounted spay/neuters if you just sign up- so expenses arent always an issue)

So someone who knows how bad the situation is, failed to take initiative herself, and is now become part of the problem. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

(San Francisco Bay Area) Buffy and Binx* are one month old sweet, friendly, curious rabbits, living in Berkeley, CA. Binx is mama's twin with brown ears and spots. Binx is adventurous and brave, the first one to explore new things, they love to run fast zoomies, chase mama for milk, climb to the top of their favorite beanbag chair and snuggle with Buffy. Buffy is a beautiful albino snowball. Their hobbies include trying to eat everything mom eats, jumping in the water bowl and snuggling with Binx. Buffy has gorgeous ruby eyes that are sensitive to bright lights and enjoys having a cozy dim place to relax. They will be ready to go to their forever homes when they are fully weaned (mid April). They would love to go to a home together or a home with other rabbit friends to play with. There will be a small rehoming fee, just to make sure they are going to a safe place. Hansel and Gretel are two-years-old and a bonded pair. They're spending time in a Foster home until adoption and their Foster volunteer says that "you couldn't ask for better cats"! Gretel, the Tortie, is an explorative cuddler who will gently paw at your arm if you stop petting her too early. Hansel, black fur, is a sprawl-in-your-lap kind of guy with beautiful orange eyes.
