Adrian doesn't lose his head very often. It can be entertaining to watch sometimes but watching him pace the room or fidget with his pen repeatedly makes you pity him.
With his father owning a multi-million company and his mother being quite a successful doctor, the wealth of his family pressures the weight of believing he must live a luxurious lifestyle. That means donning expensive fashion, eating the finest cuisine and most of all, taking you to the most beautiful places. His expected end result? Hopefully your happiness. He doesn't plan on stopping to achieve it.
You want to say something, watching from the couch as his legs carry him across the living room until you finally reach for his hand. Tenderly do your lips meet his knuckles in the most precious manner.
"I won't ask what's wrong because you'll say nothing is but-"
"Nothing is wrong," he says a little too quickly, cutting you off and staring down at you with that firm look; the one that tells you not to worry.
You huff a laugh, "You are a ridiculously terrible liar, love."
"Really," Adrian mutters softly, kissing your hand in return, "I'm alright."
"Mhm, is that why you're pacing the room like you do when you're frustrated?"
Adrian gives you the most irate look, but not harsh in nature; a raise of his hooked brow.
"I do not pace."
"You do, you even do those little nose scrunchies occasionally, it's adorable."
He grumbles in embarrassment but lets you gently pull him down on the cushions by your side. Instinctively, you hook your arm around his shoulders, his large frame slouching against your body and his slender nose pressed into your neck. You set a rhythm of running your nails through his locks, it's a habit you've gotten used to that he appreciates very much, a low hum releasing in his throat like a purring cat.
"Let me guess, you want to take me out to another fancy restaurant or purchase another diamond necklace."
He sighs, taking your hand in his to pull and play at your fingers.
"For you, I won't settle for anything less, you know I won't."
"Adrian, love, I don't need nor want expensive things to be impressed, we could just sit here and talk about dumb theories or watch crappy 80s films or something, I dunno."
He breathed a laugh at your suggestion, a little relieved. You mostly meant the things you said, with an underlining joke to grace your words but he always admired your ability to make light of a situation with your charm and consideration.
"In fact, how about we have a coffee date right now. We can visit the one with those cinnamon rolls you love."
Adrian pouts in thought, dragging his fingertip up your arm and down again, lifting goose bumps on your flesh. He smiles when he agrees, tilting his lips up to touch your jaw.
"That would be lovely."
Your boyfriend stands, taking your hands and pulling you up with him before offering his arm like a gentlemen.
"Shall we?"
