Miraculous AU: Yandere Twins Au - Amenath/Nathalie and Amélie (Yandere Amélie)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've imagined a scene between Nathalie and Amélie. I thought about a fan-concept about Amélie, Felix's mother, being a Yandere.
It happens in an AU. In this AU, Amelie is lovesick of Nathalie.
There are two versions: the minicomic (up) and the fanfic (bottom).
The sketch art and the story (below) are mature: they contain bondage, undressing, sensuality moment, drug mention and toxic yuri (not really consent).
The story:
When Nathalie begins to wake up, a familiar and feminine voice calls her.
???: Already awaken, Nathalie ?
Nathalie: Huh ? Émilie ?
???: Nearly. But not really. Watch by yourself.
Nathalie opens her eyes and she sees Amélie who is smiling in front of her. The blonde woman is dressed in lingerie, wears a rabbit-themed headband, black gloves and latex boots and holds a whip.
Nathalie recognizes her own whip. She held that when she was an treasure huntress/archeologist.
The bed (it's Nathalie's bed) is covered of special decorations: pink flowers, roses, flower petals and red and pink heart papers.
Nathalie feels uncomfortable about the situation: she understands she has her arms and legs get tied/roped or handcuffed. She realizes too she is just dressed in lingerie too (and she has an exotic flower at her right ear).
Amélie feel happy when Nathalie looks at her.
Amélie: Did you sleep well, Sleeping Beauty ?
Nathalie feels confused. She has a bit of sensation of spinning (hangover ?).
She remembers she had suddenly fallen into sleep after drinking a cup of tea Amélie had offered to her while the two women were sitting at the garden. The last thing Nathalie had seen before was Amélie held her in her arms. The aristocrat woman expressed to her a malicious smile before the black out.
Now, she understands Amélie drugged her. She wants explanations.
Nathalie: What the hell happened to me, Mrs. Graham ? And what have you done to me ?!
Amélie: I just take care of you, this evening.
Nathalie: What is this madness ?
Amélie: I won't talk about madness when I can talk about love.
Nathalie (disturbed): Love ?
Amélie giggles. She moves her left hand and caresses the Nathalie's cheek. When she puts back the hand on her own cheek, she suddenly becomes exalted.
Amélie: Yes. I love you, Nathalie. I'm in love with you since 15 years. ❤
These words astonish Nathalie causing her to blush. 😳
Amélie: During a long part of my life, I searched the perfect lover and I've found you: Nathalie Sancoeur, my perfect wife. Colt was a foolish guy and he was too disgraceful for me. A true monster. I needed a plan to destroy him once and all. And save my Felix too.
Nathalie(worried): You murdered... your husband ?! 😮
Amélie: Just self-defense. But Gabriel was a fool and a monster too. I'm glad my son and my nephew can make their happiness.
Nathalie still remembers Gabriel was Monarch the Butterfly supervillain. He became obsessed about Miraculouses he lost his humanity. After being healed from her magic disease, she has resignately accepted to keep the secret away from Adrien (alongside with Ladybug).
Nathalie: Do you plan to eliminate me ?
Amélie giggles.
Amélie: No. No. I can't do it to you, Nathalie. I said I love you too much. ❤
Nathalie: And your son Felix ?
Amélie: I am sure my beloved son and his girlfriend Kagami will accept you and my good Adrien plus his girlfriend in the new family I want to compose.
Nathalie: And why me, Mrs. Graham ?
Amélie: Because You look too sweethearted, Nathalie. ❤
Nathalie blushes about Amélie's words but she still troubled. The first thought the bodyguard woman has is: To reason Mrs. Graham de Vanily to free her.
Confident about her escape plan, she begins to play her game.
Nathalie (feigning to be polite): Can you loosen my ties, Mistress Graham ? Please ? 🌼
Amelie laughs.
Amélie: Sorry, Nathalie. But I can't let you go. Not yet. ❤
Nathalie: What do you mean ?
Amélie: I will release you when you will name me by my name. Not Graham nor Fathom nor Lady nor Mistress.
Nathalie: Amélie ?
Amélie: Yes. Nathalie. From now you will call me like that. ❤
Nathalie calmly breathes.
Nathalie: Mrs. Amélie, I must say you... 🌼
The blonde woman suddenly makes a whiplash with the whip silenting Nathalie and making her close the eyes. The latter woman opens the eyes and sees she hasn't any damage. But only the flower from her ear was fallen into pieces because of Amélie's whiplash.
Amélie: Forgive me, honey. I don't want to harm you. I hate to damage beautiful flowers. 🌼
The situation isn't okay for Nathalie. She had underestimed Amélie. She didn't know the latter can be lovesick. And now, she understand this woman is unpredictable.
Next, Amélie's angelic face evolves into a darker tone. She licks the whip and poses as a dominatrix. She reminds of a Femme Fatale. That's worrying Nathalie. 😈
Amélie (dark and sadistic tone): Say. My. Name. 😈
Nathalie (a bit of intimidated, shouting): Huh... Amélie. Amélie ! 😰
Next to Nathalie's answer, Amélie changes her evil expression into an exalted/sensual tone. She feels at the height of excitement.
Amélie (exalted): Good, Nathalie. ❤
Right after, the blonde woman throws the whip puts her hands on Nathalie's cheeks and... kisses her on the lips. 💋
Nathalie slightly blushes because of Amélie's kiss. This situation is a Déjà Vu. 😳
Tumblr media
That isn't the first time Nathalie falls in a situation. She remembers Émilie, Amélie's twin sister.
When Émilie was alive (before the Miraculouses' discovery), this woman had already confessed her feelings to Nathalie in the same way as Amélie is actually confessing her. Gabriel was never aware about this thing.
Now, Amélie is seducing her. Without another choice, Nathalie understands the evening with Amélie will be more longer than she expected.
The End?

Salt fic where Lila gets exposed so she decides to reveal that Adrien knew all along from when she first appeared and when Adrien tries to claim that she is lying to save himself, Marinette confirms that Lila is actually telling the truth and that Adrien told her that it was her own fault for being bullied due to Lila’s lies because she refused to listen to his advice about taking the “high road” and to stop trying to expose Lila even though she told him about the consequences of letting Lila keep on deceiving others and bringing their hopes up with promises that they both knew would never happen... Marinette also decides to confess to Adrien that she used to have a big crush on him but no longer does and doesn’t even want to be friends with him anymore since she believes that he doesn’t truly care about others as he claims he does, especially those he claims are his friends... Marinette actually thanks Lila for letting her see who her true friends are in their class such as Juleka and Nathaniel as well as even Sabrina with Chloé as more of a professional acquaintance while the others turn out to be nothing more than false friends who never truly cared about her... This is all happening in the school courtyard so most of the rest of the school are witnessing all of this...
Lila was furious. She wasn't sure what had happened, or how things had gone so wrong. Yesterday, she was queen of the classroom and her classmates followed her every order. Now, they all glared at her with an animosity so strong that Lila was sure they wanted to kill her.
Alya had finally decided to check her sources for something she was about to post on her blog about Lila's latest adventures. This time Lila had talked about how Jagged had wanted her input on his newest song. Normally, she wouldn't have bothered, but she actually bumped into Jagged before she posted and thought it was the perfect opportunity. She was shell shocked when not only did Jagged deny the new story, but told her that he had never even heard of Lila. She spent the rest of the night researching with the class and they quickly realized what had happened and that they had been tricked.
They came in early the next morning, trying to apologize to Marinette, but she just ignored them, sitting with the few members of the class that had stayed true to her. As they continued to try and apologize, Adrien sat at the front of the class, smiling. He knew he had been right. He had taken the high road and waited, and sure enough, Lila was found out. He felt a little bad for what Marinette had endured over the liar's reign. The whole class turned against her and had bullied her relentlessly. He may feel bad, but he also knew if she had just listened to him and taken the high road, things would have been fine. The class would have still found out, and Marinette wouldn't have suffered. But she didn't listen to him, and that was on her. He tried to warn her.
Then Lila came in and all hell broke loose. The class was screaming and yelling at Lila, who was very confused and didn't know what was going on. But once the class stopped yelling all at once, opting instead to yell individually, she figured it out. She had been found out. They knew she was a liar. Her beautiful kingdom of lies came crashing down around her. She knew there was no salvaging this, nothing she said would soothe the class now that her spell was broken. But she was determined not to go down alone. She knew she couldn't take Marinette with her, now that the class wouldn't believe her lies. But she did know someone she could destroy, and it wouldn't even be a lie.
"You may be mad at me, but you should also be mad at Adrien. He knew I was lying from the start and didn't tell you or defend Marinette." The class erupted, defending Adrien, not believing the liar, until Marinette stood up. The class instantly quieted, wondering what she was going to say. Thinking Marinette would come to Adrien's defense since she was crazy about him, the class was shocked when Marinette backed Lila's claim. "For once, she is telling the truth. I told Adrien about the lies, but he already knew. He claimed we needed to take the high road and ignore her lies. Just let her continue tricking all of you. I even warned him of the more damaging lies she was telling and how it could really hurt all of your futures. He still insisted on the high road, even when she was promising jobs and things that we both knew would never happen. I didn't listen to him and tried to tell all of you, but you all turned on me." The class had the good sense to look ashamed, not meeting Marinette's eye.
Marinette looked at Adrien, and genuinely wondered what she ever saw in him. The kind look in his eye that she had once loved so much, was now just panic as the class began to glare at him too. "The only reason I ever went along with your ridiculous high road plan, was because I loved you Adrien." Adrien was stunned, he had never realized. "Marinette, I'm sorry but I love someone el-" Adrien didn't even get to finish his half hearted rejection before Marinette put a hand up and interrupted him. "Loved, Adrien. Not love. Past tense. I haven't loved you in a very long time. Not since I realized how much of a coward you are. I don't even want to be friends with you anymore, or even speak with you again. I could never be friends with someone that, as far as I can tell, doesn't truly care about others. You only care about others when it is convenient for you and gives you more freedom from your father. That is not what friends do."
Adrien stood stunned, and more than a little ashamed. He didn't want to admit that Marinette was right. He tried coming up with justifications for his actions, but couldn't find any. Marinette went to the door, passing the stunned class, Adrien, and Lila. Juleka, Nathaniel, Sabrina, and even Chloe stood up and joined her, having been at her side through it all. Before they left, she turned back to look at Lila who was still furious. "Oh and Lila? Thank you. If it weren't for you and your lies, I never would have found out who my real friends are. These four stuck with me through it all, no matter what lies you told, you were never able to take them from me. Meanwhile you showed me that everyone else in here was nothing but fake friends. They clearly didn't care about me all that much if they turned on me so easily. So, thanks for that. You said you would ruin my life, but you actually made it better."
With her piece said, her and her friends left the class. Lila and the rest of the akuma class were left gawking, while students who had been in the hall stared into the classroom in shock at what had just happened. Word spread through the school like wildfire, and the akuma class became pariahs in Dupont. Marinette and her group switched classes and were welcomed with open arms. Marinette never thought she would thank Lila, but her life was much better now. And in a strange way, it was all thanks to Lila and her lies.

A Blue Bird and A Black Cat pt2
Selina decides that Marinette would be better as the Cat than Adrien. Five years, later Dick is very confused about this Lady Noire
ao3 previous
Five years after the defeat of Hawkmoth...
Marinette took a deep breath looked up at the looming Gotham Museum of History from her chosen alleyway. It was a beautiful building in the daylight, and she loved sketching it. But under the light polluted Gotham smog filled sky, it was a black silhouette of edges and void. Her heart was racing in nervous anticipation, as she waited for the patrol car to slowly move past. As she waited she checked her compass again. It pointed directly at the museum, with such perfect stillness that the arrow might as well have been glued down. There was a miraculous in there, waiting for her. She was going to steal it and then crash a party. She smiled as she imagined her mentor's face upon their reunion. But first things first, she needed to focus on...liberating the ancient and powerful artifact that was technically hers.
She closed her eyes, and found her Lady Noire persona. Lady Noire was calm and confident, because nothing effected her. Words, danger, laws they tried to drown her, but all they ever did was wash off her shoulders. She laughed as she jumped from buildings. She smiled as the cops chased her. She snickered when she got away without anyone being the wiser. She was a shadow in the night that reveled in the chaos she left in her wake.
"You ready cupcake?" Plagg said with a mischievous grin, and an eager light in his eyes.
Lady Noire opened her eyes. A predatory smile flickered of her face as she looked over at her prey. She could feel the chaos energy rising within her, calling her to act, to run, to jump, to laugh. Chaos was not bound, and neither was she. She was as light as a feather, and ready to fly. "Hell yeah," she said, "Plagg! Claws Out!"
Nightwing lay on his back watching the sky, twirling his escrima sticks lazily as the warm Gotham breeze ruffled his hair. He was board. Usually his nights were a lot more active than this. But there was a new exhibit, which meant someone was going to try and steal something. Now usually smart money would be on Catwoman making an appearance, even though there were no cat pieces in this collection. However, Selina was with Robin tonight, attempting some mother and son bonding before the engagement party tomorrow. Nightwing was glad that that was going so well. Baby Bird had really come a long way. But Catwoman's shift from chaotic neutral to chaotic good didn't mean that no one would show up. Afterall the signature piece, a vambrace that had apparently been owned by Kublai Khan, was decidedly bird themed, which meant Penguin. So that meant someone had to sit up on the Museum roof all night and make sure nobody tried anything. And by somebody, they meant Nightwing. After all, he was the only one who wouldn't pitch a fit and leave halfway through the night (Jason, and Damian), or fall asleep from caffeine deprivation (Tim).
Although, he couldn't really complain, it was a nice night for a stakeout. If the city wasn't so bright, he might see stars, but that would require the clouds to disappear. But the breeze was nice, and at least it wasn't raining. Still he was so bored. Nightwing groaned and jumped up. He decided to walk on his hands for a bit, to get the blood pumping. He then did a couple of front flips followed by back flips, to keep his body awake. But that didn't change the soothing Gotham ambience of car horns, police sirens, and the distant peels of gunfire that threatened to put him to sleep. Jason's gang must be fighting Black Mask again, Nightwing thought absently. He didn't approve of his brother's ways, but he would never condemn them the way Bruce did. After all, he himself had killed the Joker. Of course B had...
Nightwing's thoughts were interrupted by a shadow's movement beyond the museum's skylight. He crouched down into the shadow of one of the eaves, watching the building below him cautiously. There were about ten displays in the middle of the floor, each surrounded by a field of intercrossing lasers. It was the light of the lasers that allowed Nightwing to see the signature piece surrounded by equally valuable artifacts. A gold vambrace, with a hawk embossed in the metal. Any one of those pieces would be worth millions of dollars to the right collector. But none of these things were what had caught Nightwing's attention, but the shadow wasn't there any more. Slowly, he pulled out his binoculars and zoomed in. He sighed. Nothing seemed amiss...except. He zoomed in closer. The motion sensors were disabled. And the cameras were off. That wasn't right. Where were the guards? This couldn't be Penguin. He wouldn't cut the security cameras. He liked making a spectacle. He'd crash into the museum on a tank if he could. So who had...
Nightwing froze. A shadow was moving again, silent and slow towards the lasers. Could it be the Shade, he thought, no it's too small...maybe-- Nightwing gasped as the laser light illuminated enough of the figure to see them. He blinked and looked again, zooming in his binoculars as much as he could. Confused he shook his head and pressed his coms. He flinched as Batman and Red Hood yelled at each other through the comms. They were saying something about a warehouse...Nightwing shook his head, that could wait, right now he had a very pressing problem on his mind. So he interrupted the argument with a firm, "Hey! Does anyone have a lock on Catwoman?"
The voices cut off in confusion as Catwoman purred, "Robin and I are just finishing up on 5th."
"Some filthy degenerates were trying to take advantage of some young girls," the curt and formal Rodin confirmed. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, umm," Nightwing said not daring to take his eyes off of the figure. "In that case...I'm just going to say it...Catwoman, since when did you have a clone?" Confused and startled yelling berated him through the comm, but he left all of their questions unanswered. He really didn't know how else to describe what he was seeing. The figure who had melted from the shadows was a perfect carbon copy of Selina, except younger and perhaps with a more stylish costume. She had the same black leather cat suite, mask, and cat ears. However, this new Catwoman (Cat Girl?) had accented her suite with bright green piping, and she had forgone the cowl. Instead, her ebony black hair fell to a braid that was almost to her ankles, and she leaned casually against a silver bow staff as she studied the complex laser grid.
"There's no way she's going to get through those, with that braid," he vaguely thought, before once again he was startled out of his thoughts by what was actually happening in front of him. The woman had collapsed her staff, and was now flipping through the lasers with the elegant, and graceful precision of an Olympic gymnast. Nightwing's breath caught as he watched, her bend, flex, and spin through the lasers in an act, that Nightwing could only describe as pure artistry. He watched as her long braid twisted around her like a ribbon flicking through the laser lazily without ever touching them. He was so captivated by her performance that he almost didn't register what her dance was leading her to. But then she stopped, as she flipped into a catlike crouch in front of the signature piece.
Nightwing stiffened as he watched Catwoman 2 flick our her claws. As she circled the glass display, with the golden vambrace glistening inside, he waited. It would be so easy to jump through the sky light, tripping the alarms, and stopping her right then and there. But a strange fascination, and curiosity over took him. He wanted to see how she got out of this. Would he get to see an encore of her laser performance, or did she have another way out? And how was she going to bypass the pressure plate in the display. His questions were answered when she scratched holes in the glass, in what had to be a Selina signature move. She then took some cord from her belt and secured the pressure plate in place. Then delicately, she removed the Falcon Vambrace, and put something else in its place. Nightwing zoomed in with his binoculars and had to choke back a laugh. It was a black cat plushie, with it's tongue sticking out. The plushie must have been weighted, because when she removed the cords, the alarms did not go off.
Nightwing finally registered what his family was shouting in his ear, as Cat Woman 2 examined the vambrace. He cut them off by whispering harshly, "Yeah I said Catwoman clone, fake ears and all! She just snagged the Falcon Vambrace. I don't know how she plans to get out with it though...oh wait, never mind."
Nightwing watched in fascination, as the woman pulled out her staff again and braced it on the ground. Then silently, and gracefully she rose into the sky as her staff extended to an impossible height. Was it magic?, he thought, that would explain the hair. As the woman began fiddling with the skylight's hatch, a security guard passed by the room. He barely registered the brand new silver pole in the middle of the room. When he did turn around with a start, Catwoman 2 was already crouched on the glass, her staff collapsed to a baton size beside her. She tilted her head as the security guard, shook his head and carried on his way. When she did Nightwing had to stifle a gasp. Her eyes were green, completely green. They had no whites, and the pupils were slitted just like a real cats. Now that's dedication, he thought. And when he saw the woman smirk gleefully at the oblivious security, Nightwing could only stare in wonder at how much she was like Selina.
As she rose, Nightwing knew it was time to move. He just needed to make the perfect quip to gain her attention. But as she stood illuminated by the contrasting colors of the moon and Gotham, his mind went blank. Everything he thought of just sounded corny and stupid in his head. But he needed to stop her, or at least stall her for a while. So as she admired the way the gold bracelet adorned her black sleeved arm, Nightwing decided to bite the bullet, as he turned off his comms. He had a feeling that he needed to focus for this, as he said, "You know if you have a magic staff that can extend to the ceiling, you really didn't have to do the laser dance."
The woman spun faster than Nightwing thought possible. Her pupils were slitted, and her staff was extended. However, when she perceived him, she did something unexpected. She seemed to relax, and she straightened out of her defensive posture, with a sly smile playing on her lips. "Perhaps," she said in a light and playful tone, "But then that wouldn't have been nearly as much fun!"
God! It's scary how much she's like Selina! Nightwing thought. Or at least, she was almost exactly like the old Selina. The one he had met, when he was just starting out as Robin. The one who stole on a whim, and escaped with a wink and a smile. He had never understood why Bruce never caught her. Sometimes, it was like he didn't even try. Now...he had a feeling that if she kept smiling at him like that, and with that mischievous sparkle in her eye, he would start to understand. Immediately he became serious. The last thing he wanted was to be like Bruce. He didn't think he could take the emotional constipation, or the mocking of his siblings.
"I don't think that belongs to you," he said glancing at the vambrace.
"Oh?" the woman said almost innocently, "Strange. Then who does it belong to?"
"The Museum," Nightwing said slowly.
"Hmm," she hummed as she moved her head lazily from side to side, "No, that doesn't sound right. This most definitely belongs to me. After all, I am wearing it!"
"Doesn't change the facts Miss. So why don't you hand it over, before I'm forced to hit a Lady."
The woman threw her head back and laughed, "Sorry Blue Bird, but I can't do that. You see this lovely piece really does belong to me. And it would truly be a crime to just leave it there collecting dust. Besides you couldn't hit me even if you tried!"
Nightwing smirked, "We'll see about that. By the way, stealing someone else's shtick, not smart. Especially Catwoman's, she's very protective of her image."
The woman's smile deepened as she said, "Oh I wouldn't worry about Catwoman. She and I have an...understanding. And if you don't believe me, you can always ask her once I'm gone. Tell her Lady Noire says high. I'm sure she'll fill you in."
"You can tell her your self," Nightwing said, and he threw his escrima stick at her. She dodged both the throw and the rebound as she charged him. Nightwing caught his stick in time to block her staff, and the dance began. She swung her staff, he blocked. He swiped his sticks she dodged. Their movements were a fluid furry of kicks, jabs, and flips. and Nightwing found that their styles were eerily similar as they both blended skilled and perfected gymnastics with graceful and fluid martial arts. They both dodged more than they blocked, and each attack flowed directly into the next without hesitation or difficulty. Nightwing wanted to smile at the ease at which the moved together, predicting the others movements and responding with accuracy. But then he saw the way she was grinning at him, and he scowled. She was playing with him! This was a game to her, and for some reason he found that very annoying.
Well, he thought, Two can play at that game! And he shifted his movements so that when her staff came round again, he dropped his escrima stick and caught her arms under his. He elecrified his second stack and swung it at her side. It was block by...her hair! He started, and she smirked as she collapsed her staff, and used both of her feet to push off him like a spring board. The force of her kick, made him hiss and release her arms. He stumbled back, as she did a back handspring. He stood clutching his side scowling, and she stood ginning like the cat that ate the canary. She extended her staff behind her and her braid flicked like a tail.
Of course, he thought, She's magic. The staff's magic, and her hair is magic. I bet her eyes are magic too. He met her strange green eyes, and her smile widened. And just as she opened her mouth (probably to say something clever), Nightwing straightened and smirked. He held up the vambrace with two fingers, and he let his smirk deepen as he watched the flurry of emotions pass over her face, as she looked between him and her now bare wrist. Her gaze narrowed as he tucked the artifact into his belt. And before he could say anything clever, she attacked again.
They fell into the same easy, violent dance as they played around each other. He swung, she dodged. She kicked, he flipped. He hit, she diverted. She swiped, and he blocked. Only now there was a new pattern to their movements. Lady Noire had shortened her staff, so that she was holding an escrima stick, and with her now free hand, every other attack was accompanied, by her reaching for his belt. He fended off her empty hand, with his empty hand, spinning her around into a stone wall, but she flipped out of his grip at the last moment. Their movements were a lot closer now as a result, but Nightwing did not have time to think about that as she was getting faster and bolder. The claws on her empty hand was out, and while she still smirked and grinned, it was clear she was no longer playing. He had taken something that she had deemed hers, and now she was going to get it.
Nightwing couldn't keep this up forever, and he was certain, that Lady Noire had more than magic hair on her side, and he did not want to find out what. So he led their dance back towards the skylight and the repeating eaves. He waited, until he had the right angle, and then he pressed a button on his controller. His abandoned escrima stick flew into his waiting hand, fully charged and bristling with activity. Lady Noire dodged the flying weapon with another back hand spring, but this time she landed in a crouch. She watched Nightwing from atop the eaves with calculating green eyes that did not seem to blink. Nightwing felt the goosebumps cover his arms, as the mental image of a cat stalking a mouse flickered through his head. Nightwing fell into his most defensive stance, keeping his weapons elecrified. They held the tension in perfect stillness. Nothing moved except for the flicking of Lady Noire's braid. Nightwing loosened his grip on his weapon. Lady Noire extended her staff. He rose his weapon to attack. She coiled her muscles to pounce. He charged, and...
"Kitten!" Catwoman's sudden voice, made Nightwing trip on thin air as he stumbled forward. He turn the trip into a spin, so that he faced Catwoman, Batman, Robin, and Orphan, who were all watching them with varying levels of confusion and curiosity.
However, before Nightwing could say anything, Lady Noire pounced with a squealed, "Lina!" And she jumped into Cat Woman's open arms. The two women laughed and spun as they embraced, leaving the rest of the family staring open mouthed in wonder and confusion.
"What are you doing here?!" Catwoman exclaimed, as she began smoothing Lady Noire's hair, checking for wounds, and generally mother-henning her, (or maybe it was mother catting her?).
"Why I'm here for your wedding of course!" Lady Noire exclaimed. "You didn't think I would miss it did you?!"
"But you never responded! I didn't think you got it, since I didn't know where you were, and--"
"And I was going to surprise you!" Lady Noire interrupted. "At your engagement party!"
"And here I was thinking, you just came to steal the vambrace," Catwoman laughed.
"Well," Lady Noire said with a devious smile, "That too."
The two women laughed, as the Bats exchanged looks. Nightwing shrugged helplessly at Batman's questioning gaze, prompting the Dark Knight interrupt the little reunion by clearing his throat. "I hate to interrupt," he said gruffly, "But Catwoman, care to introduce us?"
"Oh of course!" Catwoman exclaimed, turning he young friend to face the others. "Everyone this is my protégé, Lady Noire! Lady Noire, these are the Bats. You met Nightwing! And that is Orphan, Robin. And this is my fiancé, Batman!"
Lady Noire squealed and pounced. Even Batman's eyes widened in surprise when the small feline wrapped him in a hug that had her hanging off of his neck. He stooped to set her down, and as he did everyone heard her in the worst stage whisper, "If you ever hurt her I will turn you into dust!" And then in a regular voice she said, "I'm so happy for you! You're going to be so happy together!" And then in another stage whisper, "Because if she is not, then they will never find your body."
When Batman pulled back, his expression schooled into a blank stare (which was the closest he ever got to showing alarm), Lady Noire laughed and tumbled away from him, her braid circling around her as it had when she danced through the lasers. When she straightened, she had something in her hand. She eyed it saying, "Ooo, what's this?" She pressed a button, and the Batmobile roared to life in the distance. A wicked grin spread over her face, as Batman began patting his belt, and the others stared at her in alarm.
"Give that back!" Nightwing cried. He lunged to grab the Batmobile key, before the wild thief could get any ideas. But Lady Noire only giggled, she spun around his arm brushing up against his back as they switched places.
"But I like it!" She whined playfully, and Nightwing felt himself growl. He was so confused. One minute, she was laughing and teasing as if this was all a game. The next minute, she's threatening Batman! She just could not get a read on her. Was she an adrenaline junkie like the old Selina, who stole for the thrill of it. Or was she that deadly predator, that he had caught a glimpse of in the last moments of their fight. The threat might have been just a playful warning, her version of the shovel talk, but there was an edge to her voice, that made Nightwing think, She could do it. If B hurts Selina, which he won't, she could and would kill him. It was unnerving, and they way she just switched back to teasing and laughing, just made it worse. Which was the real her? Who even was she? What did she want? The questions swirled in his head, giving him a head ache. He just did not know what to do with this strange woman and it was...infuriating.
Lady Noire continue to fiddle with the key, smiling at him deviously. But before he could lunge at her, Catwoman said coolly, "Kitten, play nice." Lady Noire fake pouted and then tossed the key to Nightwing before returning to her mentor. "So," Catwoman continued as if nothing had happened, "How long are you here for?"
"At least until your wedding," Lady Noire declared. "I wouldn't miss it for the world. But don't worry about me! I'm staying with Harls and Ives. And I'm already settled there, so no trying to guilt me into staying with you."
"Oh! But Kitten!" Catwoman whined, "I like worrying about you! Why won't you let me take care of you?"
Lady Noire laughed as she hugged her mentor, "You have taken more than enough care of me, Lina! I owe you everything, so please let me take care of you these next few weeks!" Catwoman hummed her assent as she held the young woman close. The Bats exchanged more looks of confusion and concern. But before any of them could interrupt, Catwoman jerked up and exclaimed,
"Oh! You were in the museum tonight! How was it? Did you find what you were looking for?"
Lady Noire smiled. "Actually, yes! Tell me what do you think? I might just wear it to the wedding." She held up her wrist, and the moonlight glinted off the gold vambrace on her arm.
Nightwing sputtered and stuttered, as he checked his belt. When had she taken that?! He wondered. He looked up, and she was smirking at him again. He scowled. and said allowed, "That doesn't belong to you!"
"Actually," Lady Noire said slowly. "I kind of does."
"It's true!" Catwoman declared, examining the vambrace. "This artifact does belong to her."
Nightwing opened his mouth, but it was Batman who said in a much calmer tone. "If that is true, then there are other, more legal, way to recover your property."
Lady Noire smiled, "That may be so, but the museums would never give them up. Besides I don't like all that legal, paper work stuff. It's far to boring! It's much easier to...liberate them. and much more fun!"
"Still," Batman said gruffly, "We can not just let you walk away with a priceless artifact without proof."
"Of course you can!" Lady Noire declared cheerfully. "It's just a matter of you looking over there!" She pointed away towards Gotham with the most fake innocent smile Nightwing thought he had ever seen. Batman seemed to share in his son's annoyance, because he refused to follow her instructions, and instead chose to inflict her with the infamous Batglare. "No really," Lady Noire said again. "You should really look over their. Something is coming!"
"She's right love," Catwoman said lowering her binoculars. She handed them to B who looked briefly.
'Penguin," Batman sighed, already tried, even though he had barely done anything that night. Still he pushed on, giving out orders quickly and efficiently until he turned back to address Lady Noire, and...she was gone.
"Where did she go?!" Nightwing demanded.
"Huh?" Catwoman said with mock innocence, "Oh! Don't worry, Nightwing, you'll see her tomorrow. If I know my protégé, she has plans to crash the party. Oh! I am so glad she's here. I've missed her so much!"
She then leapt off the roof to go and chase Penguin, leaving the rest of the family, to stew and follow at their own leisure. Nightwing was the last to follow, and he barely paid attention to the fight he was currently in. Not that anyone could blame him. After fighting with Lady Noire, everyone else just seemed like an amateur. He cursed himself thinking, "Stop that! If your not carful you'll turn into Bruce!"
Meanwhile on the far side of Gotham, a girl struggled, fought, and screamed as she was dragged someplace no one would "interrupt" them. Soon the bag was removed from her head, and the girl began speaking quickly and loudly. "You have to let me go! Please! I didn't do anything wrong! I---"
"Peace Miss. Rossi," the Judge of Owls said cutting her off. "Your powers do not work here, so do not attempt them, unless you wish to feel the wrath of the Talons." Lila Rossi looked back and forth between the council in front of her and the Talons behind.
"What do you want?" she asked meekly.
The Judge smiled, though she would not see it under his white owl mask. If he did not know any better he might have believed her. But he did know better, and after taking some...precautions, Lila Rossi had no power over him at the very least. Still he answered her question simply and professionally. "You come highly recommended, Miss. Rossi. It is not easy to impress the likes of Vandal Savage and Lex Luthor. For that reason, we wish to hire you."
Any semblance of the weak, helpless girl was gone in an instant. Instead there was a composed, professional, and hungry young woman waiting calmly, as one of the Talons, began untying her. The Judge could not help but respect the young woman in front of him. Once the woman's binds were gone, she straightened in her chair, and looked them over with a calculating look. She crossed her legs and then sat as if preparing for a work interview. The Judge could respect that as well. And he put a little of that into his voice, as he said, "We the Court of Owls, have many enemies, and competitors. Our goals are simple, but these weak minded individuals continue to hinder our process. We have curated a list, of our most obstinate obstacles. We do not want anything too drastic, just that you use your unique persuasion, to nudge them towards our understanding. Do you accept?"
A mindless thrall stepped forward with a tablet, presenting it to the woman. She stared at him and the tablet without touching it, and turned back to the Judge. "You are of course aware of my contract? Bound in blood and magic. Unbreakable. Swears you won't kill me if I fail."
"Yes," the Judge said. "We have seen the copy of Mr. Luthor's contract. And we find your terms more than agreeable. You will be payed according to how many of those names you will be able to 'persuade.' And should you fail, no harm will come of you by our hands. "
Lila nodded. "In that case I must insist you sign, before I take your list. There are limits to my abilities, and I would rather we have our expectations clear before we continue," she said reaching into her bag once it was brought to her. She pulled out a thick stack of what appeared to be paper, but on closer inspection, was revealed to be very thin leather.
The Judge was the first to sign his name, and the rest of the court followed suit. They needed this girl. When it was done, Lila smiled a deadly predatory smile and took the tablet. She scanned the names casually. However as she kept going, her eye brow raised higher and higher into her bangs. Finally she said, “With a list like this, you could take over all of Gotham, maybe even the world.”
The Judge’s eyes met Lila’s. And though she could not see through his mask, their expressions were a perfect mirror of each other as the Judge said, “Let’s just start with Gotham.

I imagine all hell break lose if he were to found out through third party as in Marinette isn't the one telling him the truth (which isn't new). But then again this is Adrien, he'll forgive her because she's his lady.
not vibing with the over all Marinette-s4 era salt here jdfhjhjdf
I do hope she's the one to eventually tell him though cause yeah learning it through a 3rd party would be the worst if the show decides to address this - and even if she doesn't, yes I believe he'll forgive her because having to tell the person you love that his dad was a terrorist actually (and that he's a senti) isn't too easy & that's a forgivable lie-- especially considering Gabriel's the 1st one who should have told him, Nathalie being 2nd, then Félix who's discovered it all and is his cousin, then Kagami who's his friend and was told about it all. There's a whole bunch of people who have been 🤐 tight lips about it. However Marinette twisted the reality to protect his feelings which is eeehhhh not great but not unforgivable either
I also think that (after having been able to sit on the episodes a little) maybe we're lacking a lot of context in the sense that if this is some sort of alternate / fake reality shaped by Gabriel's wish, how much can Marinette say about the truth? Does she actually remember the truth or not? Considering Gabriel wanted to be remembered for what he did good? everything's still very confusing and we need lots of answers

Some day… when Marinette and Adrien finally know they’re Ladybug and Chat Noir…
I hope they don’t jump straight into some sort of happily ever after route and end the show, and we get to sit with the love square fully realised.
Like there’ll be scenes where Marinette and Adrien are being cute at school, moments where Chat and Bug are being cute before/during/after a fight, but then an akuma will happen and Chat Noir is first on the scene and runs into Marinette on the way and they’re all cute before she spots on… or there’s a scene where Ladybug is coming back from some mission that didn’t really need any other heroes or she’s just travelling in hero gear and encounters Adrien at some function and people are fascinated by the “awkward and trying not to be flirty in public” dynamic between Ladybug and Adrien Agreste
And all the while, only ice cream dude has seen all these happenings and is confused as hell…

I’m gonna go over all of Lila Rossi’s lies to determine whether, in my opinion, the class should have caught on or not
So first up we have Lila arriving at school for the first time in Volpina, with several lies already spread around. The noted lies include the following:
1. Lila knows Prince Ali and flew in his private jet with him
2. Jagged Stone wrote a song about Lila
3. Lila knows all the Hollywood directors, notably Steven Basielberg
4. Ladybug has saved Lila’s life
And right off the bat, I have to say… meh. For the akuma class none of this is particularly out there. Rose has met and been on effectively a date with Prince Ali, Jagged Stone has interacted with the class and especially Marinette before, Ladybug saving Lila’s life is hardly a big deal at this point, even the ‘knows all the Hollywood directors’ part can easily be explained as Nino exaggerating a bit. For the akuma class, this isn’t a shock. This may be a reason for them to grow curious, but not yet suspicious (though I will admit I find it surprising that at no point is it clarified if anyone knows which of Jagged’s songs is dedicated to Lila or if they’ve asked her or tried to look it up)
Lila then claims, both to Adrien and on the Ladyblog, that she and Ladybug are very close friends. This early in the show I can’t fault Adrien for not being overly suspicious despite his inside knowledge as Chat Noir; nobody knows Ladybug well enough to be able to confidently say that she wouldn’t have made a close civilian friend in her hero form, especially since Alya has proof that Ladybug has taken a liking to her through episodes such as The Mime and Lady WiFi. I’ll let people off here
I’ll ignore the initial Volpina lie since that gets debunked almost immediately, though I do find it impressive that she’s a completely unheard of hero that’s supposedly more celebrated than Ladybug
(Also this is completely unrelated but why was Chat I’ll-Spend-An-Entire-Season-Pissed-About-Not-Being-A-Duo Noir so damn quick to say ‘oh a new superhero, guess we have a new partner’? And manipulative akumatised liar or not Volpina was also EXTRA quick to start dishing out orders like damn they really moved so fast no wonder LB was confused and distrustful as hell I don’t blame her)
Okay we’ll ignore all the Volpina lies since the illusions make it impossible to fact check, meaning we skip straight to Lila’s next lie in Catalyst, where she tells the class via a video call that she’s currently in Achu after being invited by Prince Ali himself. When Marinette points out that Ali is currently in the USA, Lila technically tells the truth by countering that she never said Ali would be joining her at the palace. At this point it’s been established already that Lila supposedly is friendly with Ali so I don’t blame anyone for not immediately questioning things, though I’d have thought Rose would have mentioned this stuff to Ali if they’re still in communication. To be fair though there’s no evidence that they ARE still in contact so I’ll give Lila and the class the benefit of the doubt. My BIGGER problem is that Lila is CLEARLY JUST SAT IN FRONT OF A PICTURE, which she GESTURES TO TO INDICATE THE SUNSET!! Do these people not have EYES?
Speaking of eyes, let’s cut to Chameleon, shall we? The episode starts with Marinette thinking the class moved everyone around so she could sit next to Adrien, only to then realise she was sitting at the back in order to accommodate a student with hearing difficulties. Marinette is totally cool with this until she realises it’s Lila that she’s accommodating and then she gets mad at her and claims she’s faking her hearing disability (yes, tinnitus counts as a disability, I double-checked to be sure) which angers the class
And you know what? Aside from the ‘I, a random teenage girl, was able to access the runway at an airport and save a celebrity’s kitten from being RUN OVER BY A PLANE despite the fact that Jagged surely wouldn’t fly on a public airline’ lie that really should’ve raised alarm bells… I’m going with the controversial opinion here; I’m with the class on this one
Honestly, the whole premise of this scene is kinda shitty; people don’t just fake disabilities, at least not like Lila did. That’s a stereotype used to denounce people with actual disabilities by claiming they’re faking it in order to excuse inaccessibility and treatment otherwise incompatible with such a disability. It’s just kind of perpetuating that idea that people will do this. And Marinette doesn’t technically KNOW that Lila is lying about having tinnitus. Sure, she’s lying about how she got it, but it’s not something out of the question for Lila to genuinely be afflicted by. Marinette immediately yelling that she’s lying isn’t a good look for her. And yeah, we as the audience know to expect Lila to lie and we support Marinette because of this, but from the perspective of the class this really cool girl they’re all friends with is being treated in a pretty ableist manner by Marinette, even if Marinette’s issue isn’t the disability but Lila lying and having ulterior motives. You don’t stand up and denounce someone’s disability just because you don’t like them, and from the class’ perspective - hell, from any perspective - that’s what Marinette did, regardless of her being correct or incorrect, the way she went about it was wrong
We then get the same case with Lila’s sprained wrist and- okay how many fake injuries/disabilities is Lila gonna have in one day before she thinks ‘hey, maybe this is kind of offensive and over the top for the first day back?’ Anyway, Marinette calls her out to Alya and Nino as faking her wrist injury as well as bringing up the tinnitus thing again, so once again denouncing injuries and disabilities. Not a great look. When Alya calls Marinette out on this and asks her why she hates someone she barely knows, Marinette explains that she followed Lila back in Volpina, then claims that Lila totally doesn’t know Ladybug. Nino starts off calling Marinette out on stalking and then Alya, to her credit, does try to give Marinette the benefit of the doubt by asking if she has any way of proving that Lila doesn’t know Ladybug. Of course, Marinette falters here, but then she throws the napkin at Lila to cover herself and prove Lila’s wrist is fine
Lila catches the napkin with her supposedly sprained wrist, then drops it with a cry of pain after Marinette calls her out. The funny part here is that Lila can actually get herself out of this one without even lying; she can absolutely just say it was a reflex to catch it and it took a moment for the pain to register since she was acting on instinct. That’s believable enough, right? But then she has to complicate it further instead, with possibly her most stupid lie to this date; “Uh, ow! Once when I was in India, I witnessed someone getting their eye gouged out by the corner of a napkin. If I hadn't caught it, this napkin could've injured Max. I didn't have a choice. Ow!”
First off, how the hell do you gouge out someone’s eye with just a napkin? You’d have to have something with the napkin, right? Second, the napkin had been thrown with nothing behind it, even if it hit someone directly in the eye it couldn’t possibly do any notable harm. Third, with the direction that napkin was going, if it did manage to go far enough to hit Max he would’ve been hit in the lower torso, not even close to his face, let alone his eye. Fourth, Max wears glasses, even if that napkin was capable of gouging out his eye and it was directly on route to his eye, his glasses would have protected his eye
So I’m gonna say it’s completely fair for the class to still be mad at Marinette for her actions, regardless of whether or not her claims are correct, but THERE IS NO WAY THESE KIDS SHOULD HAVE BELIEVED THAT LIE. These kids are all 13-14, most of them have proven to be incredibly smart, Max himself has even created sentient life forms in the form of Markov. They were already on thin, thin ice with the cat on the runway comment but I gave them the benefit of the doubt for being distracted in the moment, but this is a much more egregious and obvious lie that I just can’t excuse. This is the point where, even if they’re still on Lila’s side, they should be aware she lied
Loving how Adrien calls Lila out after the bathroom scene, but we get more Lila info on her being the niece of a famous pianist and how she had to stop playing due to arthritis and- seriously?? Another disability?? That’s the third one in half an episode! Okay to be fair to Lila we don’t actually have any proof that either of these things are lies but the way this episode is structured implies that it’s supposed to be a lie. I won’t count it either way since it gets no reception from Adrien but it’s worth pointing out. Also gonna ignore her lies as Chameleon since they serve the same purpose as her Volpina lies
At the end of the episode, Lila’s lies include Ladybug giving her an earplug for her right ear to help with her tinnitus, which Marinette calls upon in canon. I’ll admit, I hated at first how Adrien responded to Marinette preparing to call Lila out with effectively ‘don’t hurt Lila’s feelings, let her lie to people’, in fact I still do hate it since that’s toxic advice, but you know what? It fits in with Adrien’s major peacekeeping/fawning tendencies developed from Gabriel’s neglect and abuse; he’s encouraging Marinette not to rock the boat because that’s all he knows. It’s still far from good, and it’s still being an enabler, but it makes sense. So I’ll take it, I guess. I just wish they hadn’t portrayed that as the lesson of the episode being ‘calling people out on their bad actions might make them sad so you shouldn’t do it’
I also love how, despite supposedly trying to stay on good terms with Marinette, the moment the girls are both sat together Lila claims she magically lost her tinnitus (a valid lie considering the earplug lie from before from a magical girl but the timing is still funny as hell) and does her best to sit with Adrien again. And then the others don’t let it happen by going back to their normal seats and she’s lost. Brilliant
At this point we have no point in still going since we’ve established a clear point where Lila’s apparently iron-clad credibility should have been at very least significantly chipped away at, but there’s just one more episode I’d like to discuss; Ladybug. In this episode, Lila starts by framing Marinette for cheating on a test. For once, the class do do their best to support Marinette here, noting how Marinette constantly performs well in class, how it’s very unlike Marinette to do something like this and Alya even adding that she knows Marinette studied for this test. I’m glad everyone acknowledges how out of character this is for Marinette, I’d have been so mad if they were just annoyed with her for cheating. But ultimately they do still believe Lila and back Lila up when Marinette accuses her of framing her. I’ll give Lila credit where it’s due, deliberately flunking the test was a bold move (also wtf Bustier you don’t just announce that Lila got the lowest score in the class even I’m with Lila on that one we don’t need to publicly shame her academically)
After this we have Lila faking being pushed down the stairs and I just… there are HUGE windows overlooking the whole scene, how did not a single person notice Lila faking? And surely there are security cameras, right? At my normal-ass high school in the back-end of butt-fuck nowhere there were 360° security cameras and everything all over the place, but this rich-ass college with multiple celebrity children in the middle of Paris doesn’t have a single regular camera? I ain’t buying it. This incident warrants a look at the security cameras. Though my third point about this incident is how they later show Lila’s knee bandaged up and I just- who did it? The nurse? The same nurse that treated her sprained wrist in Chameleon? This nurse needs to lose her job, she should know Lila’s leg is fine. There wouldn’t even be any bruising ffs. The girl supposedly fell down several metal steps onto what looks like concrete, yet there’s not a damn scratch on her!
And then we come to the necklace, and I just- look at how that necklace fell out of Marinette’s locker the moment she opened it, it was clearly shoved through the slats in the door and probably got caught on some part of the door. That would explain how it popped out the moment the door opened. And don’t you think that Marinette would be slightly more careful to hide something she stole like that? At that point if you still think she stole it the embarrassment of being so bad at it should be punishment enough
And then Marinette is immediately expelled??? Do the writers not know how expulsion works? Or is it just Lila’s IQ-lowering radius taking effect? Because this whole scenario just doesn’t work. Suspension, sure thing, but I’ve seen people still stay on after doing wayyy worse. I could be wrong but at the very least she’d be suspended and then after a long discussion she’d be told not to come back, right?
But we’re getting a bit off-track; Lila now needs to undo all of her lies to get Marinette back into school. And this is where the lie that absolutely breaks Lila’s character comes in:
Her compulsive lying disease
Something like that surely has to be communicated to Lila’s classmates, right? And Marinette can still say that’s what Lila’s story was. So the class totally knows. Which means they can’t possibly say that Lila doesn’t lie, right? So after that episode, the class should be aware that anything Lila says or does could be a result of this compulsive lying disease, meaning they should be more open to accepting her lies even if they choose in good faith not to call her out. But no, everyone still thinks she never lies despite literally claiming to have a compulsive lying disease. Those are contradictory statements as it is, don’t tell me you still hang on her every word like it was the eleventh commandment
Chameleon should have cracked her credibility severely, but Ladybug should’ve Cataclysmed it, even if she could still remain popular and well-liked through the sense of ‘she doesn’t mean it, poor Lila just has a condition’. But not only is her flawless reputation still intact, it was never challenged at all? You can’t admit you have a lying problem and still have people trust your every word! At least give a moment where she tells the class she lied about her lying disease in order to get Marinette back into school because she never wanted it to go that far or something like that
So yeah, Chameleon should be the point where, if they haven’t looked up any of Lila’s lies even for the sake of proving Marinette wrong or wanting to engage with Lila’s lies under the belief that they’re true (i.e. looking up which Jagged song was written about Lila so they can listen to it, looking up if Lila was in the news for saving Jagged’s cat or even looking up the cat for the sake of seeing a cute cat, etc etc) they should now be like ‘okay she’s clearly making up lies’ even if they’re also mad at Marinette’s actions

Day 1: Strange
Max and Kim had the best idea. Which is odd with these two to formulate this kind of idea. Usually it's Nathaniel and Marc who does this kind of thing but here goes nothing.
Confused? Here lets explain. Summer after the most boring freshman year of highschool, Max was sitting at home reading over comic books with Markov instead of programming his latest invention. Well Kim had visited that afternoon and stared at the piles of comics on Max's table. After a couple pondering on what do while his friend just read, Kim decided to join him. Another hour and the pile now relocated to the side of the couch the boys looked bored. Kim looked to Max and then at the comics and back to Max.
"I got it!" He exclaimed.
"Got what?" Max asked, adjusting his glasses confused.
"We need Nathaniel and Marc for this! Oh and Mari and Adrian and Alya and..."
"Get on with it." Max cut him off glaring at him.
"Okay! So hear me out. We go outside dressed up as these comic characters we were just reading about and do a spoof video on them!" Kim stood up excited with his smart plan.
"And why?" Max asked.
"Because! We're so bored! And there isn't anymore comics to read. Plus! I'm sure Marinette would have so much fun also doing the costumes. And! Since ours friends have been separate all summer and will be back next month it be so much fun!" Max thought this over before nodding.
"Alright let's do it! I'll text everyone and see what happens." Kim threw his fist in the air in victory as Max sent a group text to his friends, instantly receiving a screen full of "Hell yeah!" It was set and stone and everyone video chatted the details.
A month later, everyone was at the park setting up the camera, sound system, and a dressing area (courtesy of Mari). Everyone took turns changing into their respective costumes, even mari was dressed up. Everyone stood to around the video camera preparing for the Nino to shout action and Alya made sure to get a group and individual photos.
"Alright everyone! It's time to get ready!" Nino shouted and everyone moved to their designated locations. "And Action." Alya, dressed up as BatWoman, moved into the center followed by Alix who's dressed up as Flash. Alix ran circles around Alya before she stuck her foot out and tripped Flash with a hefty chuckle.
Everyone stepped forward forming two groups for a fight scene. Flash had Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Robin, Aquaman, and Cyborg, where Batwoman had Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Black Canary, Starfire, Raven, and Night Wing. The teams were not exactly the same, but oddly enough, it fit according to Max and Nathaniel. As the scene played out and they recorded their fight scene three times (due to people laughing too much), Marc called it for lunch. No one wanted to change so they all just spend the day in their costumes. Marc and Nathaniel were the Riddler and Scarecrow as Nino dressed into his costume the butler of Bruce Wayne. Nino continued to keep his camera rolling as they walked around. Each person went off and did their own crazy things on their way to get food.
Mari walked with Adrien watching everyone goof off and enjoy themselves. Chloe and Sabrina holding hands talking about their vacation, Zoé hung with Luka talking, and Rose was gushing over Juleka's figure in the purple leotard and gold belt. Myléne and Ivan watched as Alix, Kim, and Alya jumped around on anything they could see and run around. Mari was thankful of her friends to have invited her and spend the nice warm day together. Or at least it was, until for some reason the sky was no longer blue but covered in puffy grey clouds and she was no longer standing on the sidewalk but on the roof of a very high building.
"What the hell?"
"Ah not again!" Two loud voices yelled from behind her making her jump out of fright. She turned around to see another teenager dressed just like her completely identical to her costume. That's eerie. The kid stepped forward with an irritated scowl arms crossed over his chest. The man next to him was just an inch or two smaller in width, clad in black and red a black utility belt. With two gold belts crossed and clicked together by a gold circle buckle or button and what looks like...feathers? For a cape. They both worse domino masks that completely covered the eyes.
"Who are you?" The copy cat asked her in a demanding tone. Marinette scowled at the question and crossed her arms in return.
"N'est-ce pas évident. Je suis Robin. Et tu sembles être un fan aussi d'après tes vêtements." She waves her hand at him raising a brow her mask moving with. "C'est pas mal quand même. Celui qui a conçu votre costume est exquis. Ils ont définitivement un bon œil." She stepped forward and moving around the teen inspecting his suit. Lifting the cape to take in the martials. Displeased he ripped the fabric away and practically hissed at her.
"Don't touch me." Robin growled out. Red Robin just watched the interaction curiously as he opened his comms to report in. Without warning, Batman landed down and walked up behind Red with Red Hood freezing up to see a smaller copy of Robin. The kid had short obviously gelled slick raven hair and well, boobs. Batman took a step forward kicking a piece of concrete grabbing both attention of the Robins.
"Ah bon Adrien tu es là!" The female copy said making Hood laughing suddenly. Night wing appeared in the other side of the building with BatWoman completely lost in the sight. The copy turns to look at the new people exclaiming. "Whoa Luka et Alya sont là aussi! Dieu merci, je ne suis pas seul dans cet endroit bizarre." The female let out a sigh of relief. Hood coughs coming back to earth from his fit and took control of the scene.
"Hey little miss. I'm sorry but we do not understand what you are saying." Hood said kneeling down more to her height. Unaware he just sinned.
Marinette looked at the man in the helmet trying understand what he said then realized he spoke English. But then he did the unthinkable. He lowered his 6'2" giant self down to her level making her feel smaller than she was. She pushed him with as much force she could muster and growled watching him fall over onto his ass.
"Don't treat me like a kid you over grown giant! I'm seventeen and average height!" Her french accent apparent. Red Robin (she remembered finally!) and the ones she assumed were Luka and Alya laughed at Hood for "falling." "I'm sorry, from this moment, I assume that I am not back in Paris am I?" She finally asked. Batman shook his head.
"No, you are in Gotham." The copy cat Robin says. After a couple blinks she speaks.
"It's real?!" She moves over to the edge of the building and looks down taking in the sites. "oh merde..." Mari's hands came to cover her face before dragging them down taking her eyes and lips with her.
"Yes Gotham is real, why wouldn't it be?" The real Robin states. With a heavy sigh, Marinette turns around and removes her domino mask to answer.
"Because you guys are in a comic book or books and on TV." She says, deadpanning. This time they blinked.
"Welp, this is strange.." Red Robin said.

Anais Agreste vs Paris Chapter 2: Anais vs Mr. Pigeon - Part 2
Tumblr media
Summary: Anais and Corinne try to get suplies to make the derby hat and are interrupted by an unexpected akuma attack.
Link for AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36319645/chapters/96355707
During break Anais and Corinne sit together on a bench, next to them sits Denise, reading a book.
Corinne: So, you're gonna take part in the competion?
Anais: I can't. Since my uncle is the one judging it, I'm not allowed to participate.
Corinne: Oh. Good.
Anais: ? Good?
Corinne: I mean, not good, you know but I'm gonna do it, so, you know, it's good to have less competition... I'm not very good at making derby hats.
Anais: It's alright haha, I can help you if you want.
Corinne: Didn't you say you couldn't participate?
Anais: Not on my name, I'll be just helping you but is not mine.
Corinne: Oh.
Denise overhears the conversation and stops reading her book.
Denise: You guys are getting into the contest?
Corinne: Yeah.
Denise: That's so cool! I wanted to do it too, but I know nothing about hats.
Corinne: Well, me neither, but I do like making things, and who knows, I might learn something new.
Denise: Hey, maybe I could help you make it too?
Anais: Aww that's so sweet of you.
Corinne: Sure! I'm going to buy some supplies after class, maybe you two could come.
Anais: I'd love to! And then you could show me around Paris.
Corinne: Of course, but today will only be the mini tour, cause we have to focus on the hat, after that I'll take you a bunch of places.
____
When school's out, Anais and Corinne wait outside for Denise.
Anais: It was so nice of her to help us too, she your friend?
Corinne: No, I don't even know her.
Anais: Wait, what?
Corinne: Which reminds me, we didn't get her name either, did we?
They both stare at each other confused, they didn't even ask the girl's name?
Adrien: Hey Anais, how was your first day?
Anais: It was good but would've been better if I had spent some time with you where'd you go before class?
Adrien: What do you mean? I was right behind you. And then we met during break didn't we?
Anais looks at him suspicious.
Anais: Well yeah, too bad for you cause now I'm going out with Corinne this afternoon.
Adrien: Oh that's great, you made a friend. Don't worry, Anais, we'll have plenty of opportunities to spent time together. - He says smiling. - Oh, the car is here, you're staying this time then right?
Anais: Yeah.
Adrien: Ok, see you later at home.
Anais: He's too good for this world... Even though he ditched me.
Corinne: You're gonna hold that grudge forever aren't you?
Anais: Yep.
Denise: Oh hey girls, you're still here. I was afraid you'd forget me.
Anais: How could we forget if we didn't even get to know.
Corinne: Sorry, we didn't get your name.
Denise: Oh, I'm Denise, Denise Bustier. I didn't say anything because you didn't say anything and then I thought that meant you knew who I was haha.
Anais: Why would we?
Corinne: She's ms. Bustier's daughter.
Anais: Oh.
Corinne: Sorry, ms. Bustier mentioned you, but I didn't know it was, well, you.
Denise: Oh no, it's fine. So, shall we?
--
After searching a bit about how to make derby hats, the girls visit some supply stores to find material to make the hat.
Corinne: I think we just have one more stop and then we're done shopping.
Anais: We're going to your house to make it?
Corinne: I was thinking we could just go back to school and do it there.
Anais: Can we use it after school hours?
Denise: We can sneak in and stay by the lockers, there's no one there.
Anais: Ok then.
Corinne: There it is, that one across the street! I work here so we might be able to get some things with a little discount.
Suddenly they see a crowd running down the street and passing through them screaming.
Anais: What is this?
Corinne: Oh no...
Denise: Could it be?
Anais: Could it be what??
A cloud of pigeons covers the sun and flies right above them.
Denise: Akuma attack!
Corinne: OH NO...
Anais: What the hell??
Corinne: Quick we have to get to the store for cover!
Anais stands still discombobulated as the others run.
Corinne: C'mon! - she grabs Anais' hand and runs with her.
They find cover at the store and stare outside through the glass. Anais is stunned.
Anais: What is that?
Denise: You've never seen akumas before?
Anais: No?
Corinne: Wow, Adrien didn't brief you very well, did he?
Anais: Guess not.
Denise: Basically there's this terrorist named Hawkmoth who takes people's emotions and uses against them by creating superpowerful villains who destroy the city.
Anais: o-o what. Is that allowed?
Corinne: Of course not!
Denise: That's why I said terrorist.
Corinne: He's always ruining my plans...
Anais: So I suppose that would be one of his villains? - Anais gets closer to the glass window and sees Mr. Pigeon on the distance standing on a cloud of pigeons. - What's his name?
Denise: This one's new. But apparently has something to do with pigeons.
Anais: Does he control them or something? Is that possible?
Corinne: In Paris everything's possible lately. I've learned not to be amazed anymore. But doesn't mean it doesn't bother me.
Denise: I think despite the possible death and inconveniences, it's actually pretty cool.
Anais sees Ladybug and Chat Noir arriving to fight and is intrigued. She heads to the store's door and opens it.
Corinne: Anais what are you doing?
Anais goes outside.
Denise: From a distance. It's cool from a distance! You're gonna hurt yourself!
Corinne: Or damage your clothes with pigeon poop! Oh God.
Corinne runs after her.
Anais: Who are those? More akumas?
Corinne: Those are Ladybug and Chat Noir, the heroes of Paris. They defend the city from the villains and Hawkmoth. - She grabs Anais' arm and attempts to pull her. - But we can talk about this inside, we can't stay in the crossfire like this.
Anais: Oh c'mon, I wanna see them up close! - She disattaches herself from Corinne and runs in direction to the fight.
Corinne is then hit by a pigeon poop on her sweater. She's so distraught she falls down on her knees.
Corinne: NOOO MY FAVORITE SWEATER!
Denise runs out of the shop to help her stand and get her in since Corinne was frozen in anger and despair.
Denise: Poor girl, let's go, don't worry, miraculous ladybug is gonna fix it all.
Corinne (crying): But it's ruined for now...
Denise: Oh sweetie, let's go inside.
They get in.
Denise: What about Anais? Should I go after her?
Corinne: She made her choice. Should try being friends with Alya...
--
Anais continues running less bothered by the pigeons than a normal person would be, astonished by the phenomenon she had never seen before. She sees Ladybug and Chat Noir getting inside a building after Mr. Pigeon and follows them, hiding behind a pillar.
Anais: Wow, so cool!
Chat Noir hits some pigeons with his baton and proceeds to jump from a beam to the floor. Anais eyes glow. The heroes destroy the akumatized object and free Mr. Ramier.
Ladybug: Miraculous Ladybug!
Anais: Woohoo!! Wait what am I cheering for, I don't know what that does...
Chat Noir sees Anais and gets concerned.
Chat Noir: Hey there, civilian. You shouldn't be here, it could be dangerous.
Anais: Oh, so caring <3. Don't worry, you two saved me didn't you.
Chat Noir: Of course, a hero like me will always save the people of Paris. - Despite being worried about his cousin, he doesn't miss a chance to brag.
Ladybug: But what if we didn't? He's right, you should be more careful.
Anais: How did you get your powers?
Ladybug: Um, well, thank you for your support, I gotta go, be safe!
Chat Noir: Goodbye Anais!
Anais: Byee!
Corinne and Denise come in running, they're both out of breath.
Denise: We heard the battle ended here and figured you'd be here too.
Anais sees Corinne's clean sweater.
Anais: Didn't you have a stain in your sweater?
Corinne: Wait you saw that? You saw my downfall and misery and walked away anyways?
Anais: Technically I ran.
Corinne: You're lucky miraculous ladybug saved me.
Denise: Since you probably don't know that too, miraculous ladybug is a power Ladybug uses after defeating the akuma that kinda resets all the damage it caused while akumatized.
Anais: Wow, Paris is more complicated than I thought.
Denise: Don't worry you get used to it.
Corinne: The easy way or the hard way.
Anais: Oh, do you also know how do they get her powers?
Denise: According to the Ladyblog, Alya's blog about ladybug, which I follow cause I'm a big ladybug fan, it's probably through something called the miraculouses, Ladybug's earrings and Chat Noir's ring.
Anais: Oh. How do you get one of those?
Denise: You don't, that's why Hawkmoth wants them so much, they're unique.
Anais: Are they though?
Denise: I'm pretty sure they are.
Corinne: Although it would be interesting to get one, they seem like exquised pieces of accessories.
Anais: Forget the accessories, what about the power? The adventure of fighting and saving Paris?
Denise: Yeah, but to save Paris you have to know it first and we didn't get much of a chance with all the pigeons flying around.
Corinne: Which is sad, sure, but we'll have to leave to another day. We're running out of time to finish my hat!
--
The next day arrives and the hats are being judged. Corinne's hat is falling apart but she's standing proudly next to it, she knows she did her best. Anais stands leaning on a pillar, watching from affar. Denise comes in.
Anais: You're not gonna stand there beside her to claim it?
Denise: Oh no, it's her hat, look at her, she's so proud of it, it's so cute. It was her idea and all, I was just there to learn and have fun, don't need the credits.
Gabriel disapproves of Corinne's hat. She's sad but still proud of what she made. Anais and Denise get close.
Anais: Don't mind what he says, is not like his designs are very tasteful either.
Denise: I think our little baby is beautiful.
Corinne: I know, don't worry. It's the best I could do and I just know that next time it's gonna be even better.
Anais stares at her uncle now judging Marinette. She rolls her eyes at Chloe and her attempt to copy the hat, but what catched her attention most is Marinette's interaction with Adrien. Isn't that the girl who got late to class with Adrien? How weird.
Anais: She's really strange.
Corinne: Who? Marinette? Nah, she's just a little clumsy sometimes, but she's very nice, you'll see. I'm happy for her winning.
Anais proceeds to watch her being awakward with Adrien and tries to understand the situation.

The Treaty of Miraculous Nature - Chapter 25
Vent Rouge
Well, tell us, King Gabriel! Who is this young lady?" Duchess Bourgeois insisted. "We cannot be kept waiting until then! Even my Chloe does not know. The prince has been tight-lipped about the entire affair." She gossiped.
Another court member, Viscountess Lavigne inquired, "Yes! We all would like to know. It is our right after all."
The crowd became restless as more courtiers demanded to know who the girl was.
Gabriel looked to his wife who seemed as reluctant as he did. She simply took her hand is his and gave him a supportive squeeze and a small nod.
It was time to face the music.
He let go of Emelie's hand and stood, presenting himself before his court. "Prince Adrien has spent many hours interviewing and getting to know many of the young ladies. He appreciates all of the candidates and gives his warm regards and apologies for not appearing in court today. Unfortunately, he had another obligation at this time. Other matters to attend to. No matter, we are here together in this important moment in history. We shall embark and gracefully wish the new couple a joyous occasion of marriage. The woman he will be marrying is--" He took a deep breath before continuing, a slight hesitation which led to Queen Tomoe quirking her lip slightly upward. "Mlle. Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
The courtiers clapped hesitantly, a confusion lacing their faces as they murmured among the crowd.
"Mademoiselle? Not Lady?" another courtier asked.
Gabriel sucked in his lips, humming.
Queen Emelie piped up, calmly explaining, "That is correct. The young woman is not of royal blood nor nobility."
There was silence encapsulating the room. The cheers long gone from the stiff atmosphere surrounding them now. Gabriel felt his veins go cold as the smiles quickly faded to disdain.
Queen Tomoe stood up from her chair with assistance from a guardsman. She walked over to the front of the room, standing before Emelie and Gabriel before turning her back, speaking, "Well, I believe this has been an intriguing turn of events. Don't we all agree?" She slowly turned her back, clacking her walker with each movement. "I think, like many of us have come to understand and agree upon, is that our monarchy is not keeping up with tradition. Their judgement is lacking, and they stand there and make fools of us. They mock us! Our people are dying from sickness, from famine, from lack of basic needs while the fat cats sit on the throne and do nothing."
He felt taken aback. 'What the hell is happening?' He glanced over at Emelie who had a similar look of horror on her face. Tsurugi was way out of line. How dare she stand there and speak of him and his reign this way?
She addressed the room again. "Let it be known! Our kingdom has been plagued for far too long by the black cat reign. It is now our chance to take back what is rightfully ours. First, by silencing them once and for all."
There was cheering surrounding the room, but it wasn't from the courtiers. The guards who Gabriel could not place one face of were erupting with a booming sound. A sound that one may associate with times of war, a battle cry.
Something is wrong.
Queen Tomoe raised her arm, shouting, "Vent Rouge demands retribution! Seize them ALL." She threw both arms out in a wild gesture toward the room.

Even the Losers
Chapter 30
Chapter 1     Chapter 29
Roy rushed into the hospital searching for Marinette.  He knew she was there; he just didn’t know where.  Was she being seen by a doctor?  Was she in surgery?  Was she in the morg…  No, he wouldn’t even entertain that idea.  She was fine.  Jason said she had still been standing when Dick last saw her.  That had to be a good sign, right?  That meant she was okay… somehow.
It would have been a wonder to take on Black Mask alone and survive, let alone taking on his men as well.  To still be standing after going in without anyone else there with her was a goddamned miracle.  Heroes trained for decades had barely survived just against him.  Hell, even Jason wasn’t stupid enough to go up against Black Mask alone.  And yet Marinette, who had no training, certainly not to the level of any of the bats had, not only survived, she came out on top.  Black Mask was knocked out and she was the last one standing.  He wanted to say she had to be the luckiest person he’d ever met, but not even luck would have been enough.
Roy had more questions than he knew how to ask and the second most frustrating thing about this, after having had to just sit and wait for news of where Marinette was and whether she was safe while attempting virtual suicide, was knowing he probably wasn’t going to get the answer to them tonight. Jason had made clear they, or at least he, had no idea what happened or how she survived, and Marinette probably wasn’t going to be in the mood to answer questions tonight.
He burst through the doors to the surgical waiting room, looking for a computer he could hack into in order to find Marinette’s room, but froze when his eyes landed on her standing in the middle of the room.  “Marinette!” he yelled.  His body lurched into movement instantly, reaching her in three long strides.  He reached out to envelop her in a protective hold, because after knowing what she had done, all he wanted to do was wrap her up and never let her out of his arms.  Followed quickly by yelling at her for such a stupidly dangerous stunt. Only one impulsive, reckless maniac could exist in this relationship at a time and he’d already fulfilled that requirement.
“Roy?” Marinette blinked in confusion, trying to figure out why he was there.  The thought of anyone else coming, other than Chloe who was already on her way, had honestly not occurred to her.
Roy gave her a quick look over and froze just before he crashed into her, his hands hovering centimeters from her.  Her body was tensed and her eyes scrunched in preparation for his barrage.  He didn’t know if the reaction was due to prepping to fall when he hit her or if she was afraid it would aggravate injuries from the fight or if it was a visceral, PTSD reaction to being charged by a large man after being in that warehouse with Black Mask’s goons.  Again, he had considerably more questions than answers.  But for now, the most important questions were easier.  “How are you?  Where am I allowed to touch you?”
“You can touch me anywhere you want,” Marinette purred, but her eyes didn’t match the coquettish teasing in her voice.  Her usual bright eyes were guarded, darting between the ICU doors and the empty nurse’s station.  She barely even looked at him since he came in, too focused on the doors separating them from where he imagined Adrien must be.
Roy pressed his lips together tightly and narrowed his eyes at her, unamused by her flippant attitude toward her injuries. “I meant where are you not hurt?  Have you seen a doctor yet?”
Marinette’s eyes darted to him and back to the doors again so quickly he almost missed it.  “I’ve seen quite a few,” she answered vaguely.
Max narrowed his eyes at her as well.  He and Markov had rushed down to the hospital as soon as he’d dropped off the others and hastily packed a bag for her.  All in all, they arrived only about thirty minutes after he’d dropped her and Adrien off at the hospital and she had already been here, in the same position; pacing in front of the doors to the surgical wing. He shared a look with Markov and looked back at her.  They knew her tells well enough to know she wasn’t lying, but she wasn’t exactly telling the truth either.
Roy frowned at the answer.  He looked her over more analytically, gently prodding areas he suspected might have been hurt.  His eyes settled on her seemingly hastily bandaged cheek.  “Who patched you up?” he groused as he gently stroked the skin below the cut.  Marinette suppressed the flinch from knowing she had done it herself with a stolen band aid in the ER to try to stop the bleeding and get people to stop fussing over her.
He tutted and frowned in disapproval.  “Whoever did that should be fired.  You should see a different doctor.  I wouldn’t trust the doctor that did that with anything.”
“Roy, I’m fine,” Marinette insisted sharply. She batted his hands away with an annoyed scowl.  “I’m more worried about Adrien.”
Roy pursed his lips again, not only was she showing absolutely no concern for what had to be considerable injuries and pain, she had also received sub-par medical attention.  At least when Jason and Dick pulled this shit, they had Alfred to knock them back in line and force them to accept help and their own value.  Just one person in his life that at least pretended like they valued their own lives, would be nice.  Lian needed at least one really good role model and it wouldn’t hurt the Waynes to have one in their family either.  He took a breath and let it out, that was a battle for later. Right now he had other priorities. “How is he?  Have they told you?”
“CT scans and x-ray indicate at least eight broken bones, three of which are ribs, several more are cracked.  One of the breaks nicked the right lung.  There’s also considerable damage to the abdomen and massive internal bleeding,” Max answered for her.
Roy fought the full body wince that he instantly came over him.  Those kinds of injuries could take months if not years to recover from.  He would know.  But he stopped himself from reacting.  Him reacting so negatively wouldn’t help Marinette.  Hearing the overview of symptoms had made her stiffen even further ever so slightly.  She had tried to hide it, to pretend like she wasn’t affected, focusing on the surgical wing doors instead, but he’d still seen it.
He wanted to reassure her that he had come back from worse, her whole family had in fact, and Adrien would too.  But he knew it wouldn’t do anything for her in this state.  It wouldn’t have for him.  He’d been in the same position before with Jason, with Mia, with Connor, with Grant, and more.  He’d seen more than his fair share of hospitals and he hated that Marinette had to experience it as well.  “I’m surprised they gave you that much information already,” he said instead.
“They didn’t.  I did,” Markov chirped.  He flew over in front of Roy, hovering inches from his face.  “Hello, Roy Harper.”
Roy flinched back from the robot’s sudden appearance in front of him.  “Uh… hi, slightly ominous machine overlord.”
Max snorted, drawing Marinette’s attention to them. Marinette blinked and looked between the two.  “Sorry. You haven’t met Max or Markov yet. Roy,” she motioned toward the robot floating in front of him and the man next to the robot, “this is Markov and this is Max.  Markov, Max, this is Roy.”
Max gave Roy a tight smile and a nod.  “It’s nice to meet you, Roy.  We’ve heard a lot about you.”
“Yes, nice to meet you, Roy Harper,” Markov chirped.
Roy looked over to Marinette with a grin intending to tease her, but her attention was already back on the surgery wing doors. His heart sank at the sight.  He gently wound his arms around her waist to let her know he was there for her if she wanted.  She relaxed against him almost instantly.  It was barely there, she was still standing tall and rigid, but it was enough for him to feel it and feel like he was at least making a positive difference for her.  He nodded back at Markov and Max.  “It’s nice to meet you both.  I’m sorry it was under these circumstances.”
He looked back at Marinette for a moment before returning his attention to Max and Markov.  “So… do we have an idea of how the surgery is going?”
Markov looked toward the wall for a few minutes before responding.  “They appear to have already finished on the lung and are operating on his abdomen.  I will need to get closer to get more specific, but his vitals are within an acceptable range.”
Roy nodded.  “That sounds good.  If they’re moving fast and the vitals are still good.  That’s a really positive sign.”
Max nodded curtly and took a seat with a worried look toward Marinette and Markov.  “I don’t know the statistics for this,” he admitted anxiously.  Marinette looked over at him and bobbed her head slightly to catch his eyes, some of the concern in her eyes transferring to him as well.  He took a deep breath and nodded back to her with some assurance.
“He’ll be okay,” Marinette assured him with more confidence than she felt.  “Chloe would never permit anything less.”
Max huffed out a laugh and looked back to the doors to avoid meeting any eyes.  Markov hovered near him, not directly in his eyeline, but close enough that Max understood he was there.  He adjusted his glasses and looked back up at Markov and Marinette with a nod.  He focused on Marinette with a weak smile. “Statistically improbable,” he agreed.
They both turned back to the surgery wing doors. “I was thinking blue for the living room,” Marinette suddenly said, inclining her head slightly toward Max to let him know she was speaking to him.
Max nodded contemplatively without looking away from the doors.  “I assume your office walls will be pink though.”
Marinette bobbed her head.  “Probably.  I just need to decide if that’s the waiting room, hallway, and my office or just my office… just the waiting room and hallway?”
Markov hovered between the two of them. “Statistically, grey or white are the most commonly chosen colors for office wall paint.”
Marinette scrunched her nose in disgust and let out an offended scoff.  “I am not paining my office walls white or grey.  So sterile and unwelcoming.  No personality.”
“There’s warm greys, aren’t there,” Max offered lightly causing Marinette to scrunch her nose even further.
Roy looked between them wordlessly as they continued to discuss paint colors for Marinette’s office.  He sighed silently.  He understood the tactic.  He understood avoidance.  It wasn’t healthy.  But sometimes it was necessary.  Sometimes it was the only thing that kept you moving, the only thing that kept you from collapsing and giving up on everything.  It was definitely still better than his old coping mechanisms and he just had to hope Marinette didn’t fall back onto her coping mechanisms and start shutting off her emotions.  She was reacting to Max, so it wasn’t too bad yet.  She was putting up a wall, but hadn’t completely detached yet.  He just needed to keep it going.
“So, tell me about Adrien,” Roy prompted them. “I only got to hang out with him on the weekend and we didn’t get to interact too much.  He was a bit more preoccupied with Kon.”
“Conner!” Marinette exclaimed, whirling around on him. Her eyes were wide with panic and guilt. “I didn’t… with everything I didn’t… I haven’t…”
Roy stood up slowly, placing his hands on her arms and slowly stroking them up and down.  “It’s okay.  I’ll call him.  I think he was coming to Gotham tonight anyway.  He might be able to be here really quickly.”  It was a lie.  He highly doubted Conner was anywhere near Gotham; he just needed an excuse for Kon showing up in a matter of minutes, as soon as he found out about Adrien.
Marinette took a deep breath and let it out slowly. The anxiety slowly bled from her eyes and she relaxed again, only microscopically, but again, enough that Roy could see the difference.  He had no illusions that he would get her to fully relax tonight.  “Okay.  Thank you, Roy.”
Roy nodded and pulled her into a hug, finally feeling like he was free to put his arms around her and offer the comfort he had been desperate to offer all night.  With one arm still tight around her, he pulled out his phone to call Conner, immediately returning his arm around her again.  “Hey, get to Gotham General Hospital.  Adrien’s in surgery.  I thought you might be in town already and could get here quickly.”  He hung up without saying goodbye.  Conner had already hung up anyway.  Roy just had to hope he had the presence of mind to know not to show up immediately.
While he had the phone out, he quickly sent a text to Jason and Dick asking where the fuck they were, because there was absolutely no reason all of them had to be there for the aftermath… unless it was a lot worse than he had thought.  He cringed at the thought.  He still didn’t have any information on what had happened, but it didn’t really matter. Marinette was here, terrified for her brother, with none of her family to support her.
“Vitals have crashed,” Markov reported.  The eyebrows on his display slanted toward each other and his mouth turned down in concern.
Marinette gasped and jumped out of Roy’s arms, whipping her head back toward the surgical wing doors as though she might be able to see the surgery.  Max joined her, wringing his hands and watching Markov for any sign of change. Roy set his hand on Marinette’s shoulder but she flinched away, rounding on him in surprise, arm out ready to strike. He held his hand up and bobbed his head to meet her eyes and make sure she didn’t just look toward him, she saw him.  His effort seemed to calm her slightly as she let out a long breath, lowered her arm, and turned back to the door again, allowing him to lay his hand on her this time.
“The vitals are back to acceptable range again,” Markov reported.  “The doctor said the artery is tied off now.  They are returning to the original surgery.”
Max let out a loud breath.  His body wavered and he clung to a chair next to him for support. He sat for a few seconds, allowing his body to come back to a normal rhythm before giving Markov a weak smile. “Thank you, Markov.”  His grip tightened and loosened on the arms of his chair, his normal proper posture long gone in favor of slumping in his chair, but the smile, however small, was there.  Markov bobbed up and down next to him.  He looked between them all, concern still clear on his display, waiting for clues on how he could better assist.  But with Max calming himself down fairly effectively, Markov turned his attention to Marinette.
Marinette was taking long deep breaths, still trying to calm her heart down.  Her eyes were unfocused as she stared at a random spot on the floor.  Roy could feel the shift.  He could feel her starting to detach again, all the progress from the paint discussion lost.  He could see her body tensing, becoming unyielding as the wall became higher, thicker, forcing distance between her and her surroundings.
“Let’s sit down,” Roy suggested delicately, slightly pulling Marinette toward a seat opposite Max.  Marinette followed him but sat rigidly, too anxious to relax into it, her leg bouncing restlessly, eyes still unfocused but pointed toward the doors.
The tension hung in the air, in the way it could only in a waiting room.  Instead of weighing things down and pushing until the pressure threatened to break everything it touched, it seemed to suck the pressure out of the room, demanding something else fill the void, demanding movement, demanding sound, demanding tears, demanding strength.  Nobody escaped without paying a part of their soul, and Roy was determined the price Marinette paid wasn’t her tears or her distance.
Marinette only sat for a few seconds before the tension induced vacuum compelled her to move again.  She sprang up and started pacing, stature more rigid and attention returning to the surgery wing doors with more laser focus than it had been when Roy first arrived.  She barely reacted when the doors from the lobby banged open as Conner burst through. He paused to take in the room quickly before rushing over to Marinette to give her a hug.  “How’s he doing?  Do we know?” He looked toward the far wall, his eyes unfocusing as if looking through it.
Marinette jumped at the contact and elbowed him in the jaw before she could even take in what happened.  Conner was so focused on the wall, he almost missed her movement until she was millimeters from him.  He jumped back before she could fully connect and held up his hands in surrender.  Roy shot up instantly to comfort Marinette and talk her down.  Roy made calming noises and watched her cautiously as he waited for her to register what was happening.
Marinette blinked at him a few times as the situation settled in her head, the process taking longer than Roy expected as if the wall was holding her back.  “Conner!” she exclaimed guiltily.  “I’m so sorry!  Are you okay?”
Conner approached her slowly.  “I’m okay.  You barely touched me.”  He settled his hands on her shoulders.  “How are you doing?”
Marinette pulled her lips into a tight smile. “Fine.  Thanks.  Adrien will be touched to know you came.”
Conner nodded.  “Have they told you anything?  Has Markov hacked into the system?”
“Of course, Conner Kent,” Markov answered. “He’s in surgery.”
“Things seem to be going well,” Roy answered, clapping him on the shoulder in welcome.
Conner nodded and continued staring through the wall for a few minutes, his face scrunching further with each passing minute.  “What happened?”
“He was kidnapped because of me,” Marinette said quietly.
Conner frowned deeply at her comment and shook his head. Roy wrapped her in a gentle hug, still not sure how tight he was allowed to touch her.  “This isn’t your fault,” he whispered into her hair.
Marinette let out a disbelieving scoff that Roy missed but Conner was just able to hear with his super hearing.  She backed away from Roy without meeting his eyes and without saying anything.  It wasn’t a fight she wanted right now.  She didn’t want to be comforted.  She didn’t want to feel better.  She didn’t want to feel at all.  She just wanted Adrien to be okay.
Conner nodded over to Max and Markov.  “How are you two doing?”
Max nodded back.  “We’re okay.  Nervous. Scared.  But healthy.”
Markov bobbed in agreement.  “Max and Marinette are within acceptable parameters physically.”
Conner smiled and turned his attention to the operating room.  He waited patiently for the rest of the group to turn theirs to the doors as well before he sidled over to Roy.  He watched the others for a few seconds to make sure they were distracted before fixing Roy with a pointed look.  “Who took him?” he demanded lowly.  “Did the bats get whoever it was?”
“Black Mask,” Roy answered for him.  “And the bats didn’t get him,” Conner sucked in a breath and let it out slowly.  Roy continued before Conner could formulate a plan to take him down.  “Marinette did.  The bats are taking him to Arkham though, I believe.”
Conner stared at Roy hard for a few moments trying to decipher if it was a joke or not.  Finally determining that it wasn’t he looked over to Marinette to give her an analytical look.  He looked her up and down intently.  A frown pulling his lips down as he scanned her, the frown deepening until it became a full scowl as he continued his scan.  “You went after Black Mask!  By yourself! What were you thinking?  Do you know how dangerous that man is?  You could have been killed.”
Max sucked in a breath and glared at Conner. Marinette’s face morphed instantly to cold and harsh.  “I was thinking that man is dangerous, he had Adrien, and if he died here, at that man’s hands, then he died permanently, not like the hundreds of other times I had to watch him die before.  He wouldn’t be coming back and I wasn’t going to let that happen.”
Conner groaned loudly and threw up his hands in frustration.  “God, you’re just like Tim.  So fucking ready to lay down your life for someone you love.  So damned determined not to lose anyone else, you want to make everyone else lose you.”
“I protect my family,” Marinette growled lowly.
Conner groaned loudly again but Roy stepped up next to Marinette, wrapping his arm around her waist and giving Conner a pointed glare, before he could say anything.  “Nobody in this room has any right to judge on poorly thought out, dumbass decisions made to protect people we care about.  And now is not the time for recriminations.”
“Hey!” Marinette objected turning toward him to start a fight with him.
“You went against one of Gotham’s most dangerous rogues without backup, by yourself,” he pointed out, his voice steady and even, projecting a sense of calm he did not feel.  “I doubt even Superboy would do that despite his history of dumbass moves.” He ignored the huff Conner let out. “And we will be discussing that decision at some future point.”  Marinette pouted but let the subject drop in favor of returning her attention to the surgical wing doors.
He squeezed her waist, but she didn’t react at all.  He sighed internally and turned to Conner with a large, forced smile.  “But for now, you got here just in time.  They were about to tell stories about Adrien so if you play your cards right, you’ll get some embarrassing material.”
“Excellent idea, Roy Harper,” Markov chirped.
Roy narrowed his eyes at Markov.  “Do you keep using our full names to remind us we aren’t friends and you can and will hack into whatever you have to in order to research us and fuck up our lives if we mess up?”
“Yes,” Markov responded immediately.
Roy bobbed his head and looked over to Kon with a shrug.  “Okay. Understood.  You can just call me Roy now.”
“That is acceptable, Roy,” Markov agreed.
“Embarrassing…” Max asked, quickly picking up on Roy’s train of thought.  He quirked his head to the side.  He glanced at Marinette, a playful smile spreading on his lips.  “Did they mention his obsession with Ladybug?”
“So, Adrien knew Ladybug or he just has a thing for heroes?” Conner asked as casually as he could.  Roy barely dodged his swipe when Roy started shaking from poorly concealed laughter.
Max shrugged.  “That’s a no. He knew Ladybug and also has thing for heroes.  So, Adrien had a massive crush on Ladybug and tried to keep it a secret.  But Adrien is, for the most part, terrible at keeping secrets.  He thought we wouldn’t notice the tons of Ladybug merchandise he had…”
He sent a furtive look over to Marinette as he continued his story, searching for signs that she was listening.  There weren’t any there, but he continued to tell stories with Markov’s assistance, hoping some would break through to her.  After the third story, Marinette finally diverted her attention from the doors to pay attention to the story Markov told about the party they had in his room during collège.
During the next story, she joined in, throwing in more details about the time he rescued a drowning mermaid when he was a few hours past exhausted and missed that not only would a mermaid not be able to drown in water, the woman was actually swimming gracefully… in a swimming pool. It wasn’t until the sixth story that she actually sat with them and took over to tell it herself, genuine laughter bursting out of her for the first time since that morning.
Roy breathed a deep sigh of relief and watched her as she described Adrien attempting to beat Kim at an eating contest. Her arms were waving wildly as she talked, her eyes finally shining again.  He cracked up too when she puffed her cheeks out as far as she could to imitate Adrien.  He laughed even harder when Max joined in, puffing his cheeks out as well, trying to imitate Kim.  It almost seemed normal.  He could almost convince himself everything was fine and this was just a normal night with friends hanging out and telling stories.
The illusion was erased when Markov shot up, his display shifting colors rapidly.  “They’ve finished,” he reported.
“How did it go?” Max asked apprehensively. “Can you tell?”
“His vitals are stable.  They haven’t put anything in the charts yet, but the doctor said she needs to clean up before giving his family the good news,” Markov reported quickly.  His face display changed to a smile as he turned to face them.
Marinette let out a relived breath, but her body was still rigid.  The news was good, but not enough to calm her.  “Markov can you…”
“I’ve already informed Alya, Nino, and Chloe,” he cut in.  “I have an open line to them.”
Marinette nodded and looked back toward the doors waiting for the doctor to come talk to them.  She wouldn’t be fully relaxed until she knew for certain he was okay, until he was home and healthy and the fuck out of Gotham.
“How are you guys?” Nino called out.
Marinette blinked at Markov, the sound of Nino’s voice coming out of Markov was so odd, it knocked her out of the situation for a few seconds.  “We’re okay. Roy and Conner are here as well,” Max answered for her.
“Wait, I heard about Roy.  Who’s Conner?” Alya piped up.
“We told you about Conner,” Marinette answered distractedly, her focus back on the doors already.  “He’s the one who showed us around Metropolis.”
“Just say Adrien’s man,” Chloe cut in.  Conner choked, his face turned bright red.
“Let them go on at least one date first,” Marinette sighed.
“No,” Chloe and Alya answered at the same time.
“I’ll be there in five.  Tell Adrien’s man to be prepared for an interrogation,” Chloe stated ominously.  Marinette rolled her eyes, but there was a hint of a smile on her lips.
Max slid his hand in hers and squeezed offering silent support and taking some for himself.  She met his eyes and nodded, squeezing his hand back.  They both faced the doors together, waiting for the doctor. Thankfully, they only had to wait a few minutes.  Marinette squeezed Max’s hand so tightly her knuckles turned white.  She fought to keep her breathing steady and even as the vacuum of the room threatened to steal it from her.
“Are you Adrien’s sister?” she asked Marinette.
Marinette sucked in a bracing breath and nodded.  “Yes, I’m Marinette Dupain Cheng, his sister.”
The doctor offered a comforting smile.  “He was in very rough shape when he came in. He had quite a few broken bones and a few fractured ones as well.  There was considerable tissue damage and internal bleeding.  It will take more than one operation to get everything back into order.  We’ve done what we can for now.  His most immediate, life-threatening issues have been addressed but there are substantial other issues we still need to address.  I want him to stabilize and recover a bit more before addressing the non-life-threatening issues.  It would be too much stress on his body to attempt to resolve all of the issues today.”
Marinette let out a long heavy breath.  “That makes sense.  When do you anticipate that happening?”
“It all depends on him and his body,” she hedged. “I would expect tomorrow afternoon, but if something comes up, we may need to go in earlier or if his vitals don’t stay within an expected variance, we will push it back.”  She gave Marinette a comforting smile.  “He seems strong.  He did amazingly well during surgery.  I really think we will be able to finish the rest tomorrow afternoon.  I would recommend everyone go home and sleep if you can.”
Marinette nodded in understanding.  “Thank you, Doctor.  We appreciate everything.  Is anything being done to keep him safe from another attack?”
The doctor walked over to the window and smirked. “There will be an officer stationed outside his room, but the real protection is the bats.”  She pointed toward the bats sitting on the rooftop across the street.  “I’d trust them before I’d trust the police.”  She gave a final smile and left the room.
Marinette frowned at the window and quickly crossed the room to pull down the curtain.  She liked the bats, she did, but they were close to the Waynes.  Their first reaction when they saw her with Black Mask was to tell her to back down.  She liked them individually, but she didn’t trust them collectively.
Curtain now closed and some semblance of privacy restored, she let out a breath, her knees no longer as strong and stable as they had been a few seconds ago.  Roy was next to her in an instant.  He pulled her into a hug that she melted into.  She jumped back out and in front of him when the doors slammed open again.
“Do those doors do anything other than slam,” Max grumbled, clutching at his chest in a vain attempt to calm down his thundering heart.
Chloe stopped in front of the doors, almost like she could sense they were framing her in the most dramatic way possible, and knowing Chloe, she probably did.  She glanced around the room, taking in everyone and their positioning and the atmosphere.  She looked pointedly at Roy’s arm on Marinette’s waist.
“Okay, that’s enough,” Chloe bellowed.  “You, Nathaniel’s older, hotter brother,” she motioned toward a confused looking Roy.  “Take her away.”
“Chloe…” Marinette started tiredly.
“It’s been a long ass day for you.  You got your ass kicked.  You told your genetic donor to go to fuck himself, and about fucking time too.  You need to rest.”  Marinette opened her mouth to object, but Chloe cut in before she could.  “You heard Markov and the doctor.  He’s stable for now.  He’s going to rest.  You should too.  He won’t wake up for another day at least.  Max and I will be here.  If anything happens, we’ll call y… him.” She motioned to Roy again.  “Give me your number, Weasley Number Nobody Cares.”
“Roy.  My name is Roy,” he offered.
“And?  Why are you still here?  Go!” She shooed him away.
Max sighed “Roy, Conner, this is Chloe.  Ignore her, she gets like that when she gets scared.”
“I am not scared!” Chloe insisted immediately. “Being scared would imply I thought there was a chance he won’t make it through.  He will.  He will be absolutely fine,” she insisted confidently, pointing her nose up in the air in defiance.
Marinette watched her sympathetically before she pulled her into a hug.  Chloe stood rigid, refusing to show weakness for a moment before she patted her back reluctantly examining her with a disgusted sneer on her face.  “Enough sappy crap.  Get out of here.”  She glared at Roy.  “I expect her to sleep tonight.  Hold her down if you have to.”
“Yes ma’am,” Roy nodded to her.  He grabbed Marinette’s hand and pulled her toward the exit.
“Hey!” Marinette pulled her hand out of Roy’s and looked back toward the surgical wing doors before looking back at Chloe.  “I didn’t agree to leaving!”
“You are leaving,” Chloe said definitively. “And you are going to get some damned rest, or I will tell everyone that you refused.”  Marinette scowled and set her shoulders at the threat.  She opened her mouth but Chloe cut in first. “You.  Need.  To.  Rest,” she enunciated each word carefully, making sure Marinette heard each word.
“You need to recover.  Adrien would feel worse if he knew you weren’t taking care of yourself,” Nino added in carefully.
“Trust us,” Alya joined in.  “We got this and we got you.  If anything happens, we will make sure your voyage back is as quick as possible.”
“But now, take the bag…” Chloe looked around. “Where’s the bag I told you to bring,” she demanded of Max.
Max motioned toward a bag stored under a chair. Chloe nodded.  “Take the bag.  Take a shower to get the blood out of your hair because, quite frankly, ew, that is utterly unsanitary, put on clothes that aren’t covered in crime scene evidence, and sleep.  And then maybe tomorrow I’ll actually allow you to hug me.”
“You’ll want to be awake when he wakes up, so it would be best to sleep now,” Max added in gently.
Marinette huffed but nodded.  Roy let out a relieved breath and pulled on her hand again. This time, she went readily, but just before they passed through the door, Marinette spun on them.  She pointed her finger at the four of them threateningly.  “The second you hear anything, you call Roy and get me as soon as he wakes up.”
“Oh my God, yes.  That’s what we said.  Get out. You’re annoying.  You’re taking away time from my inquisition,” Chloe snapped. “And I said sleep, Raggedy Andy. I expect her well rested, not just happy.”
Roy coughed to cover his deep blush but nodded in understanding.  “Will do what I can.”
“Damn well better,” Chloe muttered to nobody. She rounded on Conner and fixed him with a formidable glare.  “So, you’re the man who thinks he’s good enough to date my best friend…”

In your Wish Me Away Au you said that Adrien can't believe that that is his reality, what exactly happened to him and Gabriel, as well as the class? Please and Thank You! ❤
Hi anon! I'm sorry this took so long to answer! I'm trying to go through all my asks now XD
So Adrien thought his life would be perfect. He was convinced the wish would bring his mother back, her and his father would be back to being how they were before she disappeared. Lovey dovey (if he had paid more attention he would have noticed how his mother was distancing him and her from Gabriel.) His father would be loving, attentive, and caring towards him. He would get the love of Ladybug after she saw that everything was fine after the Wish was made and they would finally get to be together. Finding out it was Marinette was a surprise but one he could work with. After all she was a great friend so he had no doubt they could form a great relationship if she showed her Ladybug side more often which she would because Ladybug had to be the real her. He would get to go to school and be happy with Ladybug and him and her would get to continue to be Paris’s beloved heroes.
Once the wish was made though? His mother did wake up but his father wasn't there and neither was Nathalie. Most worrying though was the fact that Ladybug wasn't there anymore either. He looked for her everywhere in the mansion. He helped his mother to a bed and get settled before he promised to explain everything once she rested before he had gone on a mad search across Paris to find Marinette. He was in more distress when he realized he no longer had the Cat Miraculous. He called Nino and tried to be nonchalant about asking if he knew where Marinette was or if she changed her number. It infuriated him when he wasn't given a positive answer. More so when Marinette’s number (or maybe her old number?) blocked him. In the end he had to return home and care for his mother. He tried explaining what happened but they got a call from the prison and it ended up being his dad! He couldn't leave his cell! And no one could get him out! They tried but they just found out he could make phone calls, so one of the guards gave him his phone while the rest tried to find Ladybug because this obviously had to be an akuma....no one said anything. Gabriel told Adrien to tell his mother everything.
So he did. It was to his surprise that she was not happy in the least. She refused to take his father's calls and she seemed really disappointed in him. But she agreed to help look for Ladybug with him. It wasn't until the broadcast when things went to hell. This fake Ladybug announced to Paris maybe even the whole world what his father did! And really? Bringing up silly school misunderstandings? No that didn't matter, what mattered was apparently Ladybug no longer existed. His mother cried. He threw a fit. There was no way she just disappeared. No way.
Then the burning sensation started. At first it was just an itch but then it grew and grew into a searing pain. He thought his finger was going go fall off! His mother was holding him and asking what was wrong as he held his hand close to his chest. It ended. And when it did he saw what happened. He had been marked. On his ring finger, where his ring used to sit, there was a burn in the shape of said ring so charred, so ugly, so red, there would be no way to hide it with makeup. No way to explain it off as an allergic reaction to some funky metal. Then there was a pain on his face. Shorter than the first pain, hurt all the same. When he looked in a mirror later on, he would see four scratch marks across his left cheek. It would be later that he would find out that he could not speak of the Miraculous. The only thing he could say about them was he was the traitor Chat Noir. He would be plagued by bad luck, some days better than others. It would depend on his actions of the day. Minimal bad luck would be him helping people out to be genuine and not because he wanted to look good. The worst luck would be if he was being deceitful, massively selfish, or came at anybody with ill intent. Even if he just thought of anything malicious, bad luck would follow. If he ever tried to place blame on his situation on anyone other than himself he would hear all the negative thoughts everyone in Paris ever had of him. Everything Marinette had ever made him turned to ash.
Gabriel woke up in a maximum security prison cell. None of his personal belongings on him. It was as infuriating as it terrifying. He called out to anyone who was listening and several guards rushed in in a panic. They tried to get him out but if they managed to open the cell door he found he couldn't take a step out without searing pain. If anyone tried to step in, it was like an invisible wall prevented them, so one of the guards slid him their cellphone so he could notify his family what was going on. They all thought it was an akuma so he let them continue to believe that. He fully believed Adrien, Nathalie, and Emilie would visit him in all the confusion. But Adrien was the only one who would talk to him. Emilie refused and apparently Nathalie had disappeared. Then the broadcast happened.
The guards no longer slipped him special meals, fresh clothes, the phone he had been using was magically taken away and given back to the guard who had lent it to him. He was a prisoner there. Fully. He couldn't believe it. He tried to call for Nooroo to no avail. He tried to call on Tikki, Plagg, the godforsaken voices he spoke to before. Nothing. Then the pain happened and no one rushed to check on him. They stood there watching. When it was over he opened his uniform to see a burn on his chest in the exact shape of the Butterfly Miraculous. That was not all, when he removed the top of his uniform after feeling pain on his back, he was notified and shown that he had two slashes on his back...right where wings most likely would have sat. He mourned for Nathalie, he truly did not think she would have been a price... when he slept...if you could even call it that, he saw Nathalie, and everytime she sacrificed her happiness for his. He felt her love for him. He felt her pain everytime he rejected her. He felt the pain she was in once she started wearing the Peacock Miraculous.
Then there were the other things. He remembered Mlle Dupain-Cheng, but that was not all, he would see her possible futures, what she could have become if he had not taken her from the world. She had so much potential. He saw how many in Paris would have mourned her and how deeply if they kept their memories. And not just as Ladybug, oh no, there were many who would have mourned the baker's daughter because she truly touched that many lives. There were days he could not move because of pain. Pain he felt because he was reliving the victims of akuma attacks. There were moments were he felt he surely was going to die but he didn't. He never did. And he would hear a voice say he would live a long healthy life before he met his end. He would have days were he felt all the fear, the anguish, the hate, the anger that Paris held for him. It truly was torture. Then Emilie divorced him.
I'll do a separate post for the class I think!

Crashed Dates (Day 2: Scarecrow)
Marinette grins at her boyfriend, swinging their intertwined hands back and forth as they walk around the pumpkin farm. It was so nice, finally being able to go on cute dates like this. They’d first started dating while he was in Paris on business, around a year ago. Sure, he’d made trips to Paris and she’d made a few to Metropolis, but it was different now that she had moved to Gotham. Now they were able to go on random, unplanned dates, instead of dates that had been planned for weeks. He was definitely worried when she first told him she was moving to Gotham, but she had reassured him that it would be fine. (Not that she had a choice in the matter, Tikki had informed her on her last trip to Metropolis that Gotham was sick, that it was calling out for help and that as the Guardian, it was her job to help it). Gotham was….interesting, but she’d settled in just fine in the two weeks she’d been there.
And so, when he had called her out of the blue to tell her he found a place he thought she’d love, she made sure she had enough layers and jumped at the chance for a day with him. So far, the day had been absolutely perfect. They’d drank hot apple cider, ate warm donuts, taken a trip around the farm on the hayride- everything was great. But for some reason, her amazingly stubborn boyfriend didn’t want to go into the corn maze.
“Please! You’ll be my favorite person in the whole world.” She begs again, her grin quickly switching into a pout. She keeps pouting, leaning against his arm, until he sighs.
“Fine, we can do the maze.” He says and she cheers, standing on her toes and tugging him down slightly to give him a quick kiss.
“You are the best!” She says, over enunciating every word. He just grins, giving her another soft kiss.
“If we get lost, I’m calling the Demon Spawn to come get us out. Pretty sure he has a tracker on my phone.” Jason says, letting her tug him along towards the maze. She just rolls her eyes, grinning.
“You know you’re secretly touched that he cares enough to track you.” She teases as they near the entrance of the maze.
“Yeah, yeah.” He grumbles, glaring at the scarecrow situated at the entrance of the maze. Marinette raises an eyebrow.
“You have a problem with men made of straw?” She asks, legitimately confused by his reaction.
“Geeze M, I knew you were new to Gotham but I forget how new.” He says, pulling her closer. She melts into him, still confused by his reaction, but happy to be close. As they walk through the maze, frustratingly running into deadends, Jason explains Scarecrow. Marinette decides that he’s number two on the list of villains she never wants to meet. Joker is number one. (Joker is also number one on the list of villains she wants to meet, but that’s because she’s always wondered what it would look like to cataclysm a psychotic clown). She’s just about to suggest they call Damian and utilize the tracker that was, undoubtedly on Jason’s phone, when the screaming begins.
“There isn’t a haunted house here, is there.” Marinette says, her face pale. She wasn’t ready to be a hero again. She’d only defeated Hawkmoth a year ago. Just before meeting Jason. She didn’t want that part of her life again, not now.
“No, no there’s not.” Jason says, eyes glancing around wildly. Marinette’s heart breaks at the panic on his face. She knew that, despite his tough guy appearance, he struggled. A lot. He had nightmares, constantly, mostly of the time Joker had kidnapped him (hence the whole, cataclysm Joker thing). Pushing down her own fear and doubt, she tightens her grip on his hand and squares her shoulders.
“Come on.” She instructs, tugging him behind her as she darts through the maze, determined to get out. She stumbles over a rock and lets go of Jason’s hand in time for her to fall into a larger clearing. She curses as she falls, her palms stinging.
“What have we here?” A voice says. Marinette sits up, staring up at a man in a scarecrow costume and suddenly, Jason’s fear, or rather, dislike, of scarecrows makes more sense. So much more sense. She glances around and lets out a sigh of relief. She’d let go of Jason quick enough. He wasn’t caught up in this. Hopefully, he could call his father. She wasn’t sure if the rumors about Bruce Wayne and Batman dating were true, but Batman was always quick to interfere if it was a Wayne or Wayne adjacent involved.
“A girl who’s a little pissed that you crashed her date.” She retorts, standing up and brushing her stinging palms off on her jeans. She’d have to get the blood out later, which would be a pain. Better than having the blood on her palms mix with the dirt that also now covered her hands.
“You’re either very brave or very stupid, little girl. Let’s see how you deal with my newest strain of fear toxin.” He says, and she lunges towards the man, not willing to go down without a fight. Almost immediately, a sharp pinch on her neck has her stumbling back away from the man as she tries to take in her new surroundings.
She was back in Paris, but it wasn’t the Paris she had left. The city that was healing. Instead this Paris was underwater. Buildings were toppled over, and the moon was in pieces in the sky. She was back there. A place she hadn’t seen in person since she was fourteen, a place that had haunted her nightmares for ten years. She inhales sharply when she sees him. Chat Blanc. But instead of fear, she’s just angry. This isn’t real. It can’t be. Adrien Agreste was Chat Noir. And Adrien was….turning, she realizes that she can almost see him. Out of the corner of her eye, she can almost see Scarecrow, watching her. Waiting for her to react. Anger coursing through her, she charges the man, tackling him all the way to the ground. She pulls back her fist and punches him, repeatedly.
“How dare you! How dare you use his face like that! You son of a bitch!” She screams as she hits, the roaring in her ears blocking out all other sounds. She keeps her focus on feeling the man she’s hitting, because the second she lets her focus wander, she gets sucked into her surroundings again. The way the sky just looks wrong. The odd haze over everything. And now, the corpses floating in the water closest to her. Adrien. Maman. Papa. She’s not scared, she’s pissed. Sure, those were her biggest fears and that’s definitely why she was seeing them all like that, but she’d already seen it. She’s lived it. They were gone, not coming back. And she sure as hell wasn’t going to fall down and break about it. Not when some asshole with fear toxin was running around randomly injecting people. Suddenly, something is wrapped around her and she’s pulled up. She kicks frantically, trying to get out of the steel grip she’s trapped in. She had to- what did she have to do? Another sharp pinch in her neck makes her eyes droop sleepily. She struggles again, barely able to hear the voice calling her name as she succumbs to the darkness.
---
Jason Todd feels like a major prick. He watched his girlfriend trip and instead of helping her up, he uses it as a distraction to try and call B. How the fuck was he supposed to know she tripped right into the Scarecrow? He’s cursing himself mentally as he rushes towards the ambulance. Replacement had texted him.
Marinette was injected. At ambulances near front of farm
And Jason felt like shit. She’d never forgive him, not that he deserved it. He’d left her with one of Gotham’s biggest villains. His heart sinks when he sees the blood on her, and the oxygen mask attached to her face. Fuck. He’s almost to her, when one of the asshole cops stops him.
“Excuse me, sir, you can’t go over there.” He says and Jason scowls.
“Like hell I can’t. She’s my girlfriend, let me through.” He says, and the man shakes his head.
“Family only.” He states. Jason’s about to argue, when a hand lands on his shoulder.
“I still need to get a statement from Mr. Todd, if you’ll excuse us.” Replacement says, leading him away from the cop.
“I left her.” He says, the second they’re far enough away. Tim frowns.
“What do you-”
“I mean, I left her. She tripped and instead of checking on her, I was a complete and total asshole and left her so I could call B to get his ass over here and solve the goddamn problem.” Jason says, feeling like even more of an asshole now that he’s said it out loud.
“Did you see Scarecrow?” Replacement asks. Jason scoffs.
“Of course not! You really think I would’ve left if I had?” He asks with a glare.
“No, I don’t. So stop blaming yourself. I literally peeled her off of Scarecrow, she was beating the crap out of him. She’s gonna be tired and scared and confused when she wakes up. Just be there-”
“Jason!” Her terrified voice echoes out and Jason turns, sprinting for the cot he’d seen her on a minute ago. She had ripped the oxygen mask off her face and was looking around while arguing with the paramedic.
“Ma’am please-” “Marinette!” Jason calls, and her face relaxes as she leaps off the cot and launches herself into his arms. He holds her as she shakes, sobs wracking her body.
“I saw them.” She mumbles once she calms down a little. He frowns.
“Saw who?” He asks.
“My parents. Adrien. Their bodies.” She says, and suddenly, Jason has another name to add to his kill list. Being a complete asshole to all of Gotham, sure. Making his girlfriend see the bodies of those she’d lost? Nope. Now the bastard better hope he didn’t meet Red Hood in an alley.
“God, Mari, I am so sorry. I’m so sorry I left.” He apologizes, his heart aching when she pushes him away. She frowns up at him and he winces, certain she’s about to break up with him.
“Left?” She asks and he nods.
“When you tripped, I swear, I didn’t know Scarecrow was there.” He says.
“But you got Batman here.” She says and he jerks back. How the hell had she figured it out? When did she- “I know Bruce said he isn’t dating Batman, but honestly, I think he’s just in denial.” She adds.
“I- what?”
“Batman always comes when anyone in the Wayne family is in danger. Like, so quickly. And I know that Bruce says it’s just a bunch of rumors, like the whole ‘the butts match’ thing? But I also think that Batman is head over heels for Bruce, and your dad is just kinda clueless.” She rambles. Jason just laughs before pulling her into a deep kiss. She was okay. They were okay. He pulls back and grins at her, until he notices the blood again.
“Shit, that’s a lot of blood.” He says, taking her hand in his to try and find the source. He glances at her face and raises an eyebrow at the blush that had taken over her face.
“Oh, um, it’s not mine.” She mumbles.
“Then who-” “Apparently I beat the hell out of Scarecrow. In my defense, that fear toxin sucked. And I was kinda pissed.” She says, frowning down at the blood on her hands. Jason takes one of his hands and gently tilts her chin up so that she’s looking at him again. He grins at her, giving her a short, soft kiss before pulling back.
“I love you.” He says, and if the kiss she gave him in return meant anything, she felt the same way.

Spook-tober Maribat Day 2 — Scarecrow
@maribat-october-rarepairs
This idea stuck with me since the moment I saw 'scarecrow' as a prompt and I really love how it turned out. It's maybe a little bit crack-ish, I'm not sure.
Well, alright, here we go.

Tim had walked into his fair share of totally weird and unreal scenes since he moved in with Bruce, all those years ago. But walking in the living room to see his fiancée talking with an unresponsive Scarecrow, both sitting on the couch together, was downright the worst one. And the most alarming!
“—and I don’t think that would drive the point home, you understand, Monsieur l’Épouvantail?” Marinette was saying, not looking up from her sketchbook. “I need something that say ‘fuck you for insulting me’, you see. Because the twink dared underestimating me and I can’t—”
“Mari?” He whispered softly, afraid to break the apparent peace if he talked too loudly.
“Huh?” Marinette looked up, lighting up when she saw him. Tim forgot that a rogue was in his living room for all of a second when he saw her smile at him like that, before reality smacked him in the face to make him focus. “Hey, chéri, how was your day?”
“Mari. Mari, babe, why is Scarecrow here?” Tim said slowly, his panic clearly noticeable in his tone. He was walking slowly toward her, keeping his eyes on Scarecrow. Who hadn’t moved since Tim got here. Something was wrong.
“He is my new friend!” She told him excitedly with a smile, putting her sketchbook aside and passing an arm around Scarecrow’s shoulders.
“Wait, don’t—” Tim whisper-shouted, taking a couple of steps toward her, arms outstretched.
“Are you okay, Tim?” She asked with her tilting slightly in confusion. In confusion! “Do you have the phobia of scarecrows? Hey, how do you call the phob—”
“Marinette,” he started, only slightly hysterical. “Marinette. Scarecrow. In Bruce’s living room.”
“Um, yeah? I know, I brought him here? Why— Oh, are you afraid he is going to make a mess? Don’t worry, he isn’t going anywhere,” she said laughing like she just made a hilarious joke. She stopped suddenly, letting go of Scarecrow's shoulders with a frown. “I really need to stop hanging out around Adrien so much, his sense of humour is rubbing off on me.”
“Marinette… Is he,” Tim started slowly, looking at Scarecrow who still hadn’t moved. “Is he dead.”
“Well, obviously,” she said with a frown, oblivious of Tim’s internal panic. “Though, I think it really depends on the definition you give to ‘dead'. Are you dead when you lack life? Or do you need to have been alive for being dead? Technically, is paper a dead tree?”
“Marinette,” Tim whimpered, at the edge of his sanity. “Did you kill the Scarecrow? Before bringing him here, in Bruce’s house?”
“Of course not! I didn’t kill him, I mean. Scarecrow can’t be killed, you dummy.” She told him with a look, standing up from the couch. “But I did bring him there, Kon is going to look for him at our place first, Bruce’s was the best place to hide.”
“Scarecrow can’t— Oh my god, Mari, what?” Tim whispered desperately, putting his hand in his hair, before the second part registered. “Wait, Kon is in on that? What the hell happened between you?!”
“He said I couldn’t steal him! I’m going to make that little twink eat his words,” she told him fiercely, taping her fist in her hand.
“You stole him?! Did you— Oh my god, Mari, did you break into Arkham to steal Scarecrow?” He screeched, already creating plans, and back up plans, to try and keep the backlash of that away from Marinette.
They would need to get rid of the body first, and before Bruce found it. Alfred could probably help. And Jason too, he would help, he loved Mari. Jason probably knew the best place for that. And who to frame for the murder too. Someone awful, so they could knock two birds with one stone. They would need—
“Seigneur, Tim, what the hell are you talking about?!” Marinette exclaimed, cutting through his planning spiral, and looking at him like he was crazy.
“What am I talking about? You just brought a Rogue’s corpse in Bru—”
“Oh mon dieu,” she interrupted, putting a hand on her eyes. “Putain de merde, I forgot they had one like that,” she muttered in french under her breath. “Tim, chéri, do your scarecrow themed supervillain look exactly like that,” she told him slowly, pointing her hand toward Scarecrow.
“Of course he does! It’s his corpse!” Tim screeched, feeling like his head was going to explode.
“Yeah, no honey, it’s not. As it turns out, Martha Kent has a very twisted sense of humour,” she said, looking back at the scarecrow still sitting innocently on the couch.
“Martha Kent— What are you,” Tim muttered, looking at the scarecrow more closely. He was a bit lost as to what Mrs Kent had to do with this situation.
“It’s hers. It’s not the Scarecrow, chéri, it’s a scarecrow. Kon told me that Martha was very protective of her scarecrow, I could see why now. I would too, if I had something that funny in my backyard,” she said with a nod and a contemplative expression. “Anyway, I said that for twenty dollars, I would steal it. And the twink dared to say, in my face, that there was no way I could pull that off.”
“So… you stole it,” he said softly, letting himself fall beside the offending scarecrow on the couch. It was a really good imitation.
“I didn’t just steal it! I used Trixx to make Martha see Kon stealing it,” she said with a smug smirk, and the only thing Tim could think was how attractive that made her. Then she narrowed her eyes and looked at him suspiciously. “Wait, you thought I killed a supervillain and brought his corpse here? Oh my god, Tim, who do you take me for?!”
“Well,” he started, the panic that was finally starting to recede making his way back through him. “I mean—”
“I’m not stupid, Timbers,” she talked over him, ignoring his whimpered ‘don’t call me Timbers, please’. “If I killed someone I wouldn’t bring the corpse here, Jason would be hundreds times more useful than any of you for that sort of crime.”
“Oh my god, do you often think about which one of us would be better to help in your potential criminal activities?”
“Because you don’t?” She asked, an eyebrow raised as if he was an idiot.
“Alright, fair. But—” The violent opening of the door cut through his retort and they both turned around to see a fuming Kon furiously walking toward them. He stopped a couple of steps before Mari, looking at her like he wanted nothing more than to burn her with his eyes only. Which, well, he could.
“Do you know, by any chance, why my grandmother called me to chew me out for stealing her precious scarecrow, when I know for a fact that you are the one who did it?” He told her through clenched teeth. “I had to listen to her lecture for thirty minutes, Marinette. Thirty minutes! She threatened to stop feeding me her pecan pie!”
Marinette blinked at him for a second, before looking at Tim, who was innocently sitting beside said scarecrow.
They both burst in laughter, ignoring Kon’s angry stammering.

A Failed Betrothal (Part 3)
There were a lack of stuff to read so I posted this instead.
[Masterlist]
(Part 1)(Part 2)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PART 3
The next day was weird to say the least for everyone but for Marinette, it was another can of worms that she wished she didn’t open. For one thing, Chat Noir’s feelings obsession for Ladybug switched from one black-haired girl to another which unfortunately was Ladybug’s civilian form. Which meant Marinette had to deal with Adrien’s Chat-Noir-level flirting and bad pick-up lines.
Perfect, just perfect.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone thought that a declaration speech of ‘being soulmates and the only one for him’ in front of the whole class from the ‘love of your life’ would warrant a ‘blushing to death and stammering’ or ‘outright fainting’. Not a facepalm, a groan, “Why me?” and a “I am sorry but NO. I don’t feel the same way about you”. Marinette vaguely wondered if there was some kind of rule for interesting events and confrontations to happen during lunch break while the class waits for Mme Bustier to start the lessons.
Marinette went to sit in her seat next to Chloe in the back row where she and her friends had been exiled to. The class was in stunned silence and questioning about whether or not they had fallen into an alternate universe or dreaming. Nathaniel and Alix tried to hide their snickers. Chloe just started outright laughing, turning very red in the face.
Marinette felt a nudge from Plagg in her bag. Looking down, she saw them holding up her phone to show Lila’s gaping face of horror with a wicked smug grin on their face. She looked through the photos to see everyone’s faces of confusion and shock at her rejection. Eyes wide and jaws dropped on the ground. Different shots of her classmates in the same state. She smirked and showed them to Chloe who calmed down enough, letting out the occasional giggles and took the phone with glee.
“Thank you, Plagg. Here you go.” she whispered, giving them a camembert macaron.(Tom had started experimenting with camembert in his recipes. Plagg is his first taste tester for all of them, making Tom one of Plagg’s favourite people.)
Adrien didn’t take the rejection very well.
“But we are meant to be. You are a designer and I am a model. Our partnership is the one to be envied by many for the ages.”
“And by that logic,” The designer turned to her main model for her MDC website, “Chloe, my love, will you be my one and only? For our love shines so bright ,paralleled only by a thousand suns.” Using the same voice Plagg does when they go on one of their love odes about camembert before losing her straight face and giggling.(Plagg doesn’t know whether to be offended or amused.)
Setting Chloe’s laughter off again. “Mariiiii,...stop….I can’t..*gasps*....I can’t…”
Nathaniel and Alix, finally lost control and joined Chloe in death by laughter. Adrien was flustered, turning red in the face either from anger, embarrassment or both.
“But Chloe isn’t a model.”
Marinette decided to put a stop to this, just on the off chance that Gabriel finally decides to akumatized his own son. She recomposed herself.
“She is the main model for my website and we have a partnership. You, however, work for your father. So does Miss Rossi. Does that sound like the partnership to be envied by many for the ages? Hmmm, Agreste? Anyways, like I said before, I have no interest in dating you.”
“Why not? We are friends and sometimes, friends like each other enough to date each other.” Adrien angrily asked.
“Because-”
“Because, Adrikins,” Chloe cuts in, “friends having to date because one of them is interested in something more makes no sense and is fucked-up. Marinette doesn’t owe you anything. Besides, she already has a long distance boyfriend who lives in America.”
“WHAT!?” Adrien shouted.
“What?!” The class had snapped out of their stupor. Since when had Marinette gotten over Adrien and had a boyfriend?
“What?” Marinette looked at Chloe with wide-eyes. Last she checked she was still single so what the hell was Chloe playing at. For Kwami’s sake, she hadn’t been on a date since the one with Luka which went awkwardly before they agreed that they think of each other as siblings and it will be best to stay that way.
Chloe gave her a look that said ‘I will explain later.’
“Oh yes, they met online a few months ago and now they are all lovey-dovey together. It’s just so ridiculous, so utterly ridiculous how disgustingly in love they are. They have video call dates at least once a week and somehow make it work despite the time differences. He once came all the way to Paris just to see her. He brought her some special flowers that apparently meant-”
Marinette slapped her hand over Chloe’s mouth. “Well, Chloe, Queenie, as much as I love you as my friend, you can stop gushing about my love life now. Because class is about to start.”
She said through gritted teeth as Mme Bustier finished taking her sweet time and walked in. Sadly, Alya wasn’t done with the conversation ,“Wait a minute, since when did Chloe and you become close enough that she is modeling for you? And a boyfriend? Why didn’t you tell me, Girl? I thought we were friends. What about Adrien, he just confessed to you and you had been crushing on him for so long” Many girls gasped, angry that Alya broke the unspoken girl code.
“You have a crush on me?” Adrien looked hopeful. Like a lost kitten that had been stuck in the rain, was let into someone’s home.
“I had a crush on you,” Marinette corrected him, emphasising on the past tense, “and Alya had no business of sharing that information to the entire world despite us not being friends anymore.” She glared at the journalist who at least looked ashamed.
“You wanted to date Kagami so I moved on.”
One of the reasons anyway. I found out that you were my partner who had no concept of boundaries. You are a coward who only wants to maintain the class peace at the price of my mental health, she thought.
“Instead of continuing to pursue you.” She hoped the ever dense and oblivious model would get the hint she gave him. Tikki ,just this once, Grant me that ladybug luck.
“And Mme Bustier, it is time to start the lessons, don’t you think? Instead of focusing on the class drama to gossip about later on.” Marinette glared at the teacher, reminding her to do her job.
“Oh. Right.” Mme Bustier tried to regain her ‘perfect teacher’ image after getting embarrassed at being caught, “Right. Class, turn to page-”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as the bell rang for the end of school, Marinette dragged Chloe all the way to her room. Alix and Nathaniel followed them because as far as they know, Marinette had no boyfriends and they were as curious to find out what scheme Chloe had cooked up this time. They were as complicated and crazy as Ladybug’s. No offense, Marinette.
“Okay, Queenie, you have to explain why I now have a devoted American boyfriend who I am so in love with.” Marinette crossed her arms with a frown aimed at Chloe. The kwamis got out of their respective hiding places and went to the tray of food set out for them.
The trapdoor to her room opened, revealing the rest of their friend group before Chloe said anything.
“Did we miss anything?” Kagami asked as Longg and Sass joined the other kwamis.
“Juleka said something about an American boyfriend and how he sounds so romantic. Does that have to do anything with the text Alix sent us to come here?” Luka added.
“To recap, Adrien made a love confession to Marinette,” Alix started, biting into some of the delicious pastries the Dupain-Chengs gave them, ”in front of the entire class after an entire day of flirting and bad pick-up lines.”
“Wow, even after having his memories erased of being Chat Noir, he is still after Ladybug.” Luka chuckled, with the others joining in.
Marinette whined, “It was easier when he was Chat Noir. But now as Adrien Agreste, teen heartthrob, it is going to be much more difficult to get into his thick head that I don’t see him that way and it is going to get harder, now that Alya outed my old crush to him.”
“Oof. Sucks to be you.”
“So, our Mari-bug rejected him. He threw a tantrum and sulked, so like Chat Noir, how did we not notice?,” Alix continued, “After demanding reasons why they can’t date, Chloe gave Marinette an American boyfriend who she was in a long-distance relationship with. Speaking of, why did you do that?”
“I have known Adrik- Adrien since we were in diapers and I know how that mangy cat works. He grew up on Disney and had all those fairytales stuffed into his head. If you had told him that you were just not interested in dating at the moment, it won’t work because he will try his hardest to ‘woo’ you, because he still has a chance. He won’t push his luck as much if you were off the market.” Chloe explained.
“I am sure that, judging by the fact that Chat Noir still tries to date Ladybug despite her saying she is in love with someone, Adrien might try to get more proof of this boyfriend to make sure Marinette is just not pretending to have one.” Kagami pointed out.
“Ahh, but luckily I have a back-up plan. I have a friend, Tim Drake. We met at a few galas when we were younger and kept in touch. He also owes me a favor.”
“I hope this Tim Drake is cute.”
“He is and he’s older than you by two years and,” Chloe typed something on her phone, “A fellow caffeine addict so you can bond over that. Here’s a picture of him and his brother.”
On her phone were two extremely attractive and fit young men dressed in expensive suits at what looked like a gala, the older one had a charming polite smile with bright blue eyes, looking somewhat interested at what someone off-screen was saying despite looking like he will fall over any moment. His brother, however, looked like he would rather be anywhere but where he was. He was tanned and had green eyes that promised murder for daring to even breathe in his direction. Marinette noticed that he looked a little familiar but she can’t place why.
“Tim is the one that looks like he hasn’t slept in days and that’s his brother Damian next to him.”
“Wait a minute. That’s Tim Drake and Damian Wayne. The sons of Bruce Wayne, the billionaire co-CEO of Wayne Industries, which Tim Drake is also co-CEO of.” Nathaniel said with wide eyes and looked at Chloe, “You are using your favor to give our Mari here a fake boyfriend.”
“Of course, only the best for our Mari-bug.”
“Chloe, no, he is probably busy as he is with running the company. No need to get him involved in petty teenage drama.” No matter how much she doesn’t want to date Adrien, bothering a busy guy to be her fake boyfriend is not worth it in Marinette’s opinion. Which, of course, gets overruled by the overprotectiveness of her friends.
“I, for one, think this is one of Chloe’s better plans.” Kagami commented, the others agreeing with her. Traitors.
“Hey!” Chloe exclaimed, an offended look on her face, “Anyways, I will call him later.”
“Children, you better go home now before your parents worry.” Sabine’s voice came from below, “Remember we are also going through some drills tonight so try not to be late.” Having a former assassin for a mother is handy when you want to train a team of teenage superheroes.
“Bye, guys. See you later.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Just because you have been trained since birth does not excuse you from the drills. You also need to get used to the black cat.” Lady Mǔ lǎohǔ reprimanded her with her arms crossed. When Ladybug started her new team, she was the first permanent member but as the team got bigger, she stepped back to be back-up and mentor for the team.
“Yes, Maman, I know but I am nearly finished with this commission. I will catch up with you later. Promise.” Marinette stretched, looking up from her latest project. Plagg was napping in the little basket she had made for all the kwamis to sleep in which fit all of them and had some extra space for Nooroo and Dusuu after they had been retrieved.
The reason she had Plagg instead of Tikki who was with Alix was because of the new tactic the Miraculous Team came up with. To keep the balance the Ladybug and Black Cat must be active at the same time but with Adrien gone, someone must wield the ring until a new permanent holder is found and it was not a good idea for both of them to be on the same person at the same time. The team decided to rotate using the earrings and ring between them with Marinette using other miraculouses when the others have them. It also had the added bonus of making it harder for Hawkmoth to find out who has them at any given time.
“See you later, 灵儿 (líng er, means intelligence). I will give you 15 minutes but that’s it. Don’t be late.” Sabine sighed and got out the skylight and went towards the safehouse where the Miraculous team met to get training. (It is one of Sabine’s emergency safehouse to use in times of emergency and it had the required space to train 6 teenagers. Chat Noir never came to training, lazy cat.)
Marinette never made it to the warehouse.
Because a few minutes after her mother left, the skylight opened to let in five figures dressed in dark colours to easily blend into the shadows like they were trained to be. Too bad they weren’t as quiet. Marinette immediately summoned a bo-staff to defend herself.
One of them lunged at her and she retaliated by hitting the end of her staff to their middle, coupled with a couple more blows and landed one that knocked them out. The others threw throwing stars which she dodged by jumping back. Which landed her to be trapped by the two assassins, whom she didn’t notice, had moved. She cursed in every language she knew as she struggled against them. It led to no avail as she was badly out-numbered. There was a prick on her head and her world went black.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plagg awoke to a loud commotion. Irritated, they poked their head out to see their new temporary kit knocked out, tied up and hauled away. Recognizing the kidnappers as assassins of the League of Shadows, they scowled. Ra’s Al Ghul was going to pay.
Plagg may not act like it much but the black kwami was patient and smart. Smart enough to leave a note with an explanation somewhere visible with the messy aftermath of a fight before trailing the assassins. Oh, Roarr’s tiger was going to be pissed once she found out what happened. Wherever they were taking Marinette, it would be best to have a kwami of destruction to help her escape. The night made Plagg almost invisible and allowed to move unseen. They caught up easily and hid in their holder’s midnight hair. Now, their patience came into play. It was a matter of waiting for the right moment to pounce.

-Maribat
-Daminette
-Mari is MDC but also has a secret talent :singing and songwriting
-class! Salt, lila! Salt, coward but not evil adrien/chat noir.
-Mari vents out her sadness and anger through songwriting and singing in a secret garden she discovered somewhere in Paris.
-always has her song book with her. One day during one of Jagged's fittings. Her song book falls out of her bag without noticing. Forgetting it in Jagged's Hotel room.
-Jagged finds it and takes a look at it. Finds out that it's marinette's. Also notices how sad and angry the lyrics look. Confronts marinette about it when she comes back looking panicked and looking for her song book.
-Jagged finds out about Lila and ends up being akumatized.
-cue: Lila! Hunt. And truth being revealed to the class.
-the class tries to apologise. Mari forgives some, not all. And doesn't remain close to them anymore since they betrayed her trust. So no more free stuff/food/babysitting/etc... Just being civil with each other and avoiding persistent ones like Alya and adrien.
-Jagged comes to the bakery to check on Marinette and overhears her humming then singing. Frozen in place entranced my her lyrics, sound and emotion in the song. He listens and knocks when he hears watery sniffles.
-they talk.
-he offers an idea. To record her songs or perform for an audience.
-Mari not being ready turns down the idea of performing for an audience. But says OK to the idea of recording it.
-while in the recording studio with only penny and Jagged. After recording her songs. The asshole Bob barges in telling Jagged that he needs to create more songs that people could relate to. Tries to belittle Jagged and just being an asshole.
-Mari offers Jagged an idea. Since she felt like she had to repay Jagged somehow. To use her lyrics. Jagged refused at first. Until mari offered the idea of him acknowledging MDC being the writer while he was the singer. Since MDC is a secret and is already associated with Jagged. Jagged agreed while also attempting to write his own with mari and penny's support.
-while Mari takes a leap and desides to sell records of her singing on her website. Together with her fashion designs. 50% of the money going to animal shelters and food, shelter and education for the homeless in Paris.
-MDC gets even more famous.
-Jason and Tim being HUGE fans of both Jagged Stone and MDC. Buy a copy of each of her records. And become even bigger fans.
-Jagged offers to bring marinette on tour with him for the summer in Gotham. Mari agrees thinking it would be good for her mental health if she left Paris for a bit.
-Jason and Tim automatically book tickets to the concert. Bruce insists that they all go and think of it as sibling bonding. So Dick and Damian tag along. Jason and Tim try to convert Dick into a Fanboy. Dick becomes a fan after listening to MDCs recordings. Damian refusing to become part of their fanclub.
-Jagged who mari eventually found out was originally from Gotham was shocked. So they didn't stay in a hotel. Instead they stayed at Stone Mansion. (I like the ring of it). Which just so happens to have a beautiful Garden that just calls out to her inner Ladybug. Jagged tells her to wait till the sun's down. And refused to say more. Turns out the garden becomes lit with fireflies.
-Stone Manor and Wayne Manor are neighbours here. Jason and Tim just didn't know that the owner of the place was THE Jagged Stone. They just assumed it was called Stone Manor because it looked like a "Stone" Manor. Bruce, Alfred and Dick keeping in secret because they find it amusing. Damian doesn't know and doesn't care.
- one evening. Mari is in the garden gazebo. Feeling inspired sings one of her unreleased songs to herself.
-Damian avoiding the noise decides to go to the garden in the backyard with Titus. Titus hearing soft singing perks up and runs to the hedge dividing the 2 properties. Damian ends up listening and decides to stay and listen while trying to get Titus to keep quiet.
-entranced by the music he stays. Admitting to himself that her voice sounded like one of an angel. (if he's ever heard one) he becomes curious and climbs a tree close to the hedge to take a peek at the singer. But by the time he gets to a high branch. She's already walking away. To dark to see clearly.
-he sneaks back to the hedge the next night. Not sure if his angel would come back to sing again. But this time hides on the tree branch behind the leaves. Turns out she was already there but drawing under the faint gazebo light.
- hair soft and dark as the nightsky. Gentle facial features. Really wants to see her eyes. Beautiful.
-then she starts humming. He stays still and tries not to make a sound. Her humming builds up and eventually she starts singing to herself. Unaware that someone was listening to her up in the neighbors tree.
-her inner Ladybug leading her to dancing to her own songs with the fireflies in the garden. All while unaware that she's being watched.
-Damian entranced. Heart thumping really loud. her voice, her swaying and the general atmosphere. He stays till she gets called back in. He really wants to see her eyes.
-comes the following night as well. Trying to build up the courage to call out and is confused as to why he's feeling that way. Gives up for the night.
-Alfred waiting by the door. Amused. (nothing gets passed Alfred. Previous Peacock holder. Miraculous of emotion...i think... Let's just say it is) offers his own advice. Damian asking him to keep it secret. Alfred agreeing thinking that this would be good for Damian.
-Damian comes again the following night but this time bites the bullet. This time he isn't up in the tree. He's sitting on the grass by the hedge. Singing along softly to the song (this time a song they both know and is apparently popular and surprise surpriseee damian knows how to sing he just doesn't advertise it). Mari's voice stops for a bit and decides to play along with his idea. End up singing a popular duet for the next song. Until she gets called back.
M: will you be here tomorrow again? I had fun singing along.
D: I can
J: *calling out for mari to get back in soon*
M: I have to get going now. But I hope to see you tomorrow... I mean HEAR! I meant hear... Since I can't see you and all. Hahaha!
D: *secret smile* I'll be here, angel.
M: Angel?
D: *flustered and shouting "what the hell" in his head* you... You sound like one. *STUTTERING??!!! *
M:*flustered * thank you, Oiseau.
D: *beet red* Oiseau?
M: figured I'd give you a nickname too. Your voice reminds me of one. I like it. *WHAT THE HELL, BRAIN!!!???* A-a-anyways I've got to get going. My uncle's calling me in. See you tomorrow night!
D: you mean "hear you tomorrow" right? *amused and flushed*
M: R-right! I meant hear. *flushed* *chuckle* Good night, Oiseau
D: Good night, Angel.
