y/n - your name
warning: swearing, use of the word stupid, thats all i think
y/n, adriens twin sister tells him what she really thinks of his new relationship with lila. based off/inspired by the song ‘What a shame’ by Leyla Blue
a/n - i know that this would probably never happen but its been in my head for a couple of days so i need to let it out.
if there was one thing that you could wish for, it would be to wipe that stupid smirk off of lila’s stupid face. your hatred for her grew greater and greater with every breath she took. not only was she a liar, she was also just downright horrible! you looked over at marinette, and saw that she had a similar expression to yours. suddenly an idea popped into your head, smiling at lila you said, ‘adrien.?’. ‘yeah y/n?’ he answered, smiling at you warmly. ‘i dont like or approve of your relationship ’, you said calmly, still looking at lila. you looked over at him as his face fell slightly, and you couldn’t help but wonder if what you were going to say was going to hurt his feelings. you carried on, ‘the only thing that’s left to say is ..’
‘what a shame’ you said calmly. ‘baby-‘, lila started, ‘what a shame?’ he questioned. ‘could’ve been with mari, instead of whats her fucking name’ you said with a smug smile. marinette gave you a ‘what are you doing?!’ look, her face as red as ever. ‘its a shame, yeah its fucking shame!’ your voice echoeing around the now silent class. ‘you had a winning hand but you threw away the game’, you finished. the class knew what you meant, even if your brother was as blind as a bat. you were known for being outspoken but no one had expected this. everyone could see the shock on adrien’s face, and the rage on lila’s.
‘yo- you bitch!’ she screamed. ‘whats the matter layla? or was it lily? i really can’t remember anymore’, you put on a thinking face, a smirk dancing on your lips. lila stormed out of her seat and straight over to you, ‘you’ll regret that! she snarled. and right as the door opened a loud SLAP echoed around the class. ‘what is going on here?!’ yelled miss bustier, holding a stack of papers she went to photocopy. ‘i-i- uh no-noth-‘ lila stuttered. ‘miss bustier!’, you cried ‘ sh-she slapped me! lila slapped me!’ you said with tears spilling down your cheeks. truth to be told the slap hadnt hurt much, but since you knew there would be a red mark you decided you’d milk this opportunity, after all lila wasnt the only actress in the class. ‘lila?! go staight to the principal’s office!’ miss bustier said with shock and slight disgust at her behaviour. ‘are you all right y/n?’ her voice becoming as sweet as sugar again. ‘im fine, but do you think i could have a minute to talk to my brother?’ you asked with tears still threatening to spill. ‘of course, take as long as you need’. ‘thank you’ you sniffled
you turned your head to look at adrien and the class, a big smile gracing your face as if nothing just happened. you walked out with adrien following suit. ‘are you okay?’ he asked worriedly, ‘im fine adrien’, you smiled up at him but his worried eyes turned harsher. ‘so why did you do that?!’ he shouted in a hushed tone, ‘because she isnt the right girl for you, you dummy!’,you whipser-shouted back. he looked at you confused, head tilted slightly to the side. ‘open your eyes, everything you need is right infront of you, or well behind you considering our seating plan’. you said rolling your eyes. ‘m-marinette?’ he said quietly. ‘yes adrien, the whole class can see that you guys are perfect for eachother’ you spoke, pulling him into a hug. ‘thanks y/n’ he mumbled into your hair, ‘thanks for what?’ you asked. ‘for being the world’s best sister’ he said pulling away slighty. ‘ugh stop being so sappy’ you grumbled though you had a smile in your face, ‘you have a girl to ask out’. ‘i do?’ he said tilting his head. ‘ADRIEN!’, ‘im joking, i get it now’ he said with a laugh pulling you back into the class. you gave him one last smile before getting to your seat, ‘looks like he finally got the hint’ you thought to yourself.
a/n - this is my first fic since ive started writing again so i hope there isnt too many mistakes, id appreciate it if you could leave a like if you enjoyed it :)

When Emilie was there
Read on AO3
Summary:  Before his mother disappeared, life had been better for Adrien. However, "better" does not mean "good". Set pre-canon.
“Mom, can I go to school this year?” He sent her his kitten eyes that always seemed to work for everything. Except for this.
His mother laughed. “You know I can’t do that, Adrien.”
“Why not?” He pouted.
“The world out there is too dangerous, sweetheart…” She said, hand caressing his head and eyes far away. “I just want you to be safe and at home is the safest you can be. Your mother knows best, right?”
She gave him a smile filled with sunshine and he melted.
“Of course.”
<>
Adrien didn’t quite know what to make of his father.
He loved him, of course, but could never actually gauge what mood he was in. Not that it mattered, as it was prone to change faster than a model’s clothes in a fashion show. Last time he witnessed that phenomenon, Adrien was playing in his father’s study, waiting for his parents to come back from an afternoon appointment, and he found a bunch of yellow maps. He sorted through them, glancing at the places in Tibet that were marked.
When his parents found him, they smiled, until they noticed what he was sorting through. Then, his father went red.
“What do you think you’re doing?!” His father shouted and he froze, only moving once his father grasped him by the wrist and pulled him up. “Why were you going through my things? Who gave you permission? Explain yourself!”
Adrien’s tongue felt swollen and his throat was closing up. It vaguely felt like an allergic reaction, but he didn’t get stung by any bees.
His mother stepped in front of him. “Stop overreacting, Gabriel. Adrien, go to your room. I’m going to have a talk with your father.”
Adrien ran from the room before his father could say anything, rubbing his aching wrist.
<>
After his father’s outburst, Adrien starts to avoid him.
It's not that Adrien loves his father any less or doesn’t appreciate his company, but… He knows how quick he is to change moods and it’s hard to maintain a conversation with someone who can go from gentle to angry in a few seconds. He hates having to watch his words with his father, always wondering what consequence a simple sentence will have. So he would rather not say anything at all.
Mother notices.
“You're hurting your father.” She says, disappointment shining in her green eyes and Adrien feels incredibly small.
“I-I just don’t know how to talk to father… He gets mad very fast.” He said. His mother tuts.
“It’s just how he is, Adrien, you know he doesn't mean it.” Does he? “He’s your father, still. There’s nothing you can do about it.”
A rock lands on the bottom of his stomach. He can’t explain why.
“So please, start talking to him again.” His mother says soothingly and he nods.
Next dinner, he starts a conversation about business with his father. He focuses on the approving glint in his eyes and the beaming smile his mother sends him instead of how hard his heart is beating.
<>
The next time it happened, his mother’s family was visiting.
His mother and aunt Amelie hugged, as if they hadn’t seen each other in years and not just last month. His aunt’s husband, whose first name Adrien can’t recall because he insists on being called Mr. Graham de Vanily, starts a conversation with his father that they barely manage to keep civil. He is old money, he heard house staff whisper, and doesn’t appreciate having to mingle with people like Gabriel.
Mr. Graham de Vanily and his father always talk like they’re playing a game, waiting for the other to slip so they can pounce. Adrien wished he didn’t know what it felt like. They all go to his room so he can play the piano, his parents watching proundly and Félix huffed. He would rather be playing and Adrien could relate to that. He pointed to the piano and discreetly rolled his eyes. Father noticed and frowned, but it was worth it to see Félix’s smile.
He started to play effortlessly, guided by the hours of practice his father put him through when he learned the Graham de Vanilys were coming. The piece was a bit harder than usual, though, so when his fingers slipped and a note went sour, he prayed his father wouldn’t notice.
However, he was never that lucky.
“You underperformed, Adrien.” He snapped as soon as Adrien finished. Mr Graham de Vanily’s smug smile didn’t help. “Were you practicing all those hours or goofing off?”
“It was just a mistake, Gabriel.” Emilie soothed and his angry stare turned to her, away from Adrien. It wasn’t fast enough, from the child’s flinch. “It wasn’t that serious.”
“It wasn’t good enough, Emilie. You coddle him too much and are always taking my authority away.”
She was unfazed. “You are too hard on him.”
He looked at her for a second before storming out of the room, followed by an exasperated Emilie. Amelie went after her sister, looking amused, and Mr. Graham de Vanily, who looked as uncomfortable with Félix as he did with Adrien, trailed behind her. Adrien was shaking, so Félix took his hand and started to look for the chess board.
“Why do you let him treat you like that?” His cousin asked, in the middle of their third game.
“Like what?” Adrien said, voice perfectly innocent.
Félix threw him a pointed stare. “Like that.”
“It’s not that bad.” He answered honestly. Probably.
“It’s not fair.” Félix said, more fire in his voice than Adrien felt in his life.
But that was Félix, wasn’t it? Always angry and confrontational. A problem child, he heard his uncle and aunt call him, one angry and another fond. His mother always made sure to check on his cousin because of that. He's a bit difficult, Emilie said, that’s why he needs a little more help. Not like my Adrien at all, you’re such an easy child, sweetie.
Being an easy child was becoming harder and harder these days, though.
“Maybe.” Adrien conceded. “But there’s nothing I can do about it.”
“Of course there is!” Maybe for Félix, whose mother was always by his side. Adrien knew he could count on his mother for almost anything, but for this…
“He’s your father, still.”
“There isn’t.” He says and Félix grumbles, but goes back to their game.
His father and Mr. Graham de Vanily have a fight over dinner. It’s the last time he sees Félix for years.
<>
His father’s temper tantrums didn’t affect only him, he learns one day. He finds his mother comforting a sobbing Nathalie in one of her many living rooms.
“He’s just so harsh sometimes.” Nathalie said, pausing to take a sip of the water Adrien rushed down the stairs to get for her. “I don’t even know what I did wrong.”
“I’ll talk to him.” Emilie said, the sound of her voice immediately calming Nathalie. She ran her hand down Nathalie’s back and Adrien watched as she melted in his mother’s arms. “He should treat him employees better.”
“Just his employees?” The words escaped Adrien’s mouth before he could even notice. He flushed.
His mother stared at him, unimpressed. “Don’t act like you’re such a victim, Adrien.”
Her tone wasn’t mean or even scolding, but Adrien felt like he had been shot on the chest.
“I-I know I’m not.” Then why did he feel tears threatening to fall?
When he left, neither his mother nor Nathalie tried to stop him.
<>
On the day of an important photoshoot, he wakes up feeling awful.
His chest is tight and his stomach is heavy. His already bland breakfast tastes like ashes in his mouth and the thought of going through the motions of getting in the car, going to do make up, hair, letting people touch him and getting under the lights, staring into the camera… It makes him sick. Nathalie can’t stop staring at him.
“Are you ready to go, Adrien?” She asks in her usual monotone voice.
“I-I’m not feeling well.” He says, voice small. She sighs and he holds back the urge to flinch.
“Are you feeling sick?”
“Maybe… I don’t know.” He had never felt like that when he was sick, his whole body tense and locked.
“We can stay if you don’t feel well enough to perform.” She says, but her voice now belies how it wasnt a good idea.
Adrien thinks of his father, angry for having him miss such a huge shoot, and his mother, frowning because why can't he make things easier for his father?
It’s not much of a choice.
“I’ll go.” He says and sees relief color Natahlie’s features.
(It goes horribly and his father berates him for twenty minutes straight when the results reach him. His mother watches in the corner this time, silent.)
<>
Adrien has a bad feeling about his parent’s trip to Tibet. He tries to explain it to Nathalie and she gives him a weird look before dismissing him. He quietly begs his mother to not go and she laughs gently, promising him souvenirs.
When they come back, he hugs his mother for a solid ten minutes before moving on to his father, who surprisingly allows a long embrace too. Their chests feel lumpy, but he doesn’t question it, probably one of the promised souvenirs. He had been too paranoid, he admitted.
His mother booped his nose and giggled like a bell. Adrien’s life would be fine as long as he had her, he knew that.
<>
Then she was gone and everything got worse.

Chat Blanc Answered so many of the fandoms questions and I CANT EVEN HANDLE IT.
Incase anyone is unaware, there are versions of chat blanc already subbed on youtube. Now I know translations arent perfect, but if it was even close to accurate... Can we just talk about all the things they revealed to us this episode!?
(I made all gifs off of Kae Minami translated episode on youtube)
1. Adrien literally admitted.. HE ALWAYS SAW MARINETTE AS MORE THAN JUST A FRIEND AND NOW HE KNOWS WHY. A-K-FRICKIN-A. He has ALWAYS had feelings for her, SINCE THE BEGINNING! WE FRICKING KNEW IT!! HA! SCREW ALL THE NAYSAYERS. Everyone who ever said that it was "all in our heads" and that he thought Marinette was weird in first season and had no feelings for her until recently.... YOU WERE WRONG. (though I already knew that..) ALL HAIL ADRIENETTE. That Bitch Is Canon Now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. We now know that if Adrien found out Marinette was ladybug, he would keep it a secret from her, but still go all in, if it meant they could be together. and to be honest.. i'm not even sure what this means, but it's a thing.
Tumblr media
Also... CAN WE JUST LOOK AT HOW MUCH HE LOVED HER?!?!?!
He didnt even hesitate to show her off to the world. (Not that showing off = love. Just saying that despite his fan club and his strict father he did what we wanted because it was about her. Cute!) Not only that..
Tumblr media
But did you see how quickly Marinette was willing to accept that he was Chat Noir? NO HESITATION, SHE WAS ALL FOR IT. "HOLD ME, CHATON, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. "
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Knowing each others identities did not lead them to give up their miraculous! Infact, it looks as if it helped them to find hawkmoths lair instead! So, either, Master Fu was cool with it(since he was still the guardian here) or BOTH Marinette and Adrien decided theyd keep their knowledge of each others identities a secret! (which I kind of love the idea of)
4. Hawkmoth is the literal scum of the earth. Just Greiving? LOL WE THOUGHT. He is completely irredeemable. There is NO saving that trash human. NO. SAVING. HIM. Not after all that bullshit he pulled. He literally tried to destroy Adrien and Marinettes relationship to get a strong akuma out of her. Which makes me lowkey sad since I kind of thought Gabriel had a soft spot for Marinette and wouldve supported them.. HE BROKE HIS OWN SONS HEART for his OBSESSION to bring his damn wife back.... AND THEN. After discovering his sons identity. THIS DUMPSTER BEAT UP HIS SON AND AKUMITIZED HIM. He didnt even consider trying to talk to Adrien first. WHAT THE FRACK. BROOOOO. SCREW THIS GUY. PLEASE LET HIM FRY IN THE WORLDS LARGEST LAMP, THANKYOU. This confirmed for me as well, that if Adrien ended up dying in the place of bringing back Emilie, Gabriel would be A-FLIPPIN-OK with that.
Tumblr media
5. But.. pushing the Gabriel being a Garbage father rant aside. What this really revealed to us, was that Gabriel doesnt consider any of his current life.. real. He doesnt just plan to bring his wife back to life. He plans to "repair the past". change the past. completely rewrite history. Which explains why he is willing to hurt Adrien and treat all of Paris like tools and objects. In his brain. Once he gets the miraculous's, he's going to "reset" all of it. So, noone is really getting hurt. His son included. He really doesn't think he can lose, so anything he does now does not matter to him. Which also just tells us how dangerous this man really is. Like. Guys. He is really. really. dangerous.
6. Luka stayed in the picture. Even after Marinette and Adrien got together. Obviously. But yeah, I love him so much!
7. Though, sadly... we also learned. Marinette doesnt even consider Adrien being chat noir a possibility. DESPITE IT BEING SO DAMN OBVIOUS. Oh you poor poor Marinette🤦‍♀️
Tumblr media
8. Meanwhile, Adrien put Marinette being Ladybug together in a *Snap*!
So who's the dense one now huuuuuuuhhhhhHHHHHHHHHH?
*Marinette* *cough*cough*
Tumblr media
9. Also. can I just say, Gorilla is a total softy, and I am SO GLAD he wasnt the one to tell Gabriel that Adrien was Chat noir. He is still our wonderful semi fluff dad substitute.
because screw natalie..
and double screw gabriel
Tumblr media
Thankyou writers, for sparing Papa Gorilla in this episode. lol
AAND I could keep talking about this episode, but this was just supposed to be revelations, not a reaction post. So, I'm gonna stop now, because I'm already getting carried away😭 AGNFOFPWNSHDHXHFHGSGSHHWJSU (me intangiblely screaming and rambling)
Okay. Goodnight now.

Adrinette April Day 1- Just Friends
@adrinetteapril
Marinette hung her head as she quickly zipped down the school hallway. Posters of the Valentine’s Day couple dance were plastered on every surface and every student was talking about it. She didn’t have anything against the dance, she thought it was a lovely idea, she was just very, very single.
The bell rung, echoing around the school ground, drowning out the students excited chatter temporarily. Marinette sighed in relief, she’d have a break from the torture while class was on. With a slight spring to her step, Marinette opened the door to her home group, stepping inside.
“So, what do you say, Adrikins?” Chloe’s abnoxious baby-talk voice loudly asked. “Pick me up at 7 for the sweethearts dance?” The blonde girl was hanging of Adrien’s side, her arms tightly wrapped around his neck.
Marinette felt her blood run cold in shock, was Adrien really going to the dance with Chloe of all people.
“Ah, Sorry, Chloe but we’re not going to the dance together, remember?” Adrien awkwardly replied, desperately trying to shake her off. He eventually unlatched her arms, gently but swiftly, creating distance between the two.
“But, Adrikin, of course we are! We’re the most popular kids in school, we’re a power couple. We have to make an appearance together.” Marinette grinded her teeth together. She was getting very annoyed at Chloe’s persistent nagging, any normal person could tell how uncomfortable Adrien was feeling.
“We’re not a couple, Chloe. Please stop saying that. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to the dance with you.” Adrien curtly spoke, with that he straighten out his tablet and faced the front of the room, ending the conversation. Multiple snickers were heard around the room, as Chloe stomped her feet in anger, marching back to her seat with Sabrina hot on her heels.
Marinette smiled, relieved that Adrien still didn’t have a date, dispite the fact that she knew she didn’t have the courage to ask him herself.
“Marinette!” A familiar voice called, Marinette, turned her head to her desk to see that her best friend, Alya, was already there. The beautiful, thick haired girl had a slight smirk on her full lips, no doubt from Chloe’s antics.
Marinette gave her a small wave as she walked toward her desk. Her heart started to thump loudly in her chest as she walk past Adrien’s desk, she had to do this almost daily for the past two years but she still couldn’t help the way she lost all focus around him, he was her weakness.
“Morning, Marinette!” He greeted a bright smile on his face.
Marinette jumped, shocked that he started talking to her, let alone bless her with one of his award winning smiles. The poor dark, haired girl jumped so suddenly that she missed the next step and tripped right over, directly in front of Adrien!
“Classic Dupin-Cheng.” Chloe snickered, a roar of laughter was hear from around the class room. A heavily blush stained Marinette’s cheek as she died of embarrassment. She heard the sound of a chair scrapping and a slight under the breath cuss.
“Shit.”
A presences was felt besides her before two arms wrapped around her waist and lifted her back onto her feet. A grateful smile stretched across her lips, she turned around once her footing was steady, ready to express her gratitude.
“Thanks for that-“ She started to say untill she realised Adrien was the one who helped her up. Her brain completely short circuited and her mouth froze up.
“It’s no problem, Marinette.” He smiled, “are you okay?” He face was filled was so much concern that a Marinette felt compelled to ask him if he was okay.nShe tried to speak but nothing came out, she looked down briefly and noticed his hands were still ever so slightly hovering around her waist, most likely as a precaution in case she slipped again. Unfortunately for Marinette that just made her weak at the knees.
“Argh!” She screamed as she felt back again. Adrien’s eyes widen as she slipped right out of he gasp. Marinette squeezed her eyes shut waiting for impact but it never came. She felt strong arms catch her under her armpits, holding her inches above the ground. She peaked her eyes open to see an angel smiling down at her.
“Aren’t you luckily?” Alya laughed as she pulled Marinette back up. “Thanks for your help, Adrien, but I’ve got her from here.”
Adrien gave them a small smile as he nodded. The three of them settled into their respective seats.
“Okay class settle down, lesson’s are starting now.” Miss Bustier annouced as she walked through the door, setting her laptop down on her desk.
“Girl, we need to work on your confidence levels.” Alya whispered as she unlocked her tablet.
“My confidence isn’t the problem, it’s my brains inability to function around him.” She groaned as quietly as possible. Alya gave her a soft smile before focusing on the board as Miss Bustier begain to write, Marinette followed suit.
...
“Okay, class. I’ll see you all after break, have a wonderful time.” Miss Bustier loudly called out over the sound of chattering students.
Most of the class were already out the door, eager to relax and eat. There were small clusters of classmates still packing up and talking among themselves, there’s included.
Nino and Adrien were chatting quietly among themselves, swapping schedules, trying to organise time to catch up. Alya and Marinette we’re behind them, discussing the dance.
“Just ask him.” Alya urged as she carefully placed her tablet in her bag.
“I can’t just ask him! Look at how he rejected Chloe!” She hissed throwing her arms around in exaggeration. Adrien caught the movement from the corner of his eye, briefly glancing at his pigtailed classmate curiously. She, of course, noticed his minor movent and blushed heavily, waving at him awkwardly. He have her a soft smile and waved back, turning his full attention back to his best friend as Nino asked him a question.
“Yeah, but she’s Chloe and even Adrien can’t stand her. Look, Adrien likes you, even if it isn’t the way you want right now. The only way something romantic will come out of this, is if you start spending more time together.”
Marinette nodded in defeat, she couldn’t argue with Alya normally, expecially when she had a good point.
“You’re right, I’ll start putting more effort into getting to know him.” Marinette sighed, swinging her backpack on her back.
“Awesome.” Alya laughed, adjusting her straps on her shoulders. “I’m glad you’re on board.”
“Wait, on board with what?”
“Hey, Adrien.” Alya called out. The blonde boy jumped slightly, whipping his head around to face the girl’s.
“Yeah?”
“You going to the sweetheart dance?”
“Ah, no actually.” He muttered awkwardly. “It’s a couples dance and I’m single.” He scratched the back of his neck, a nervous tick of his. Marinette watched the way his toned arms flex, she had to physically stop herself from drooling.
“That’s great new!” Alya cheered, her cunning, Fox-like grin present on her lips. The three other teens gave her a mixture of looks between confusion, disbelief and worry.
“Ah, it is? I wouldn’t exactly count it as a good thing.” He mumbled quietly, trailing off towards the end but Marinette heard him. She also spotted the look of pain in his eyes, her curiousity was sparked.
“Yes,I was hopping you’d double date with us!” She clapped, gesturing between Nino and herself.
“Who else?” He asked curiously.
“Well, Marinette of course!” She said like it was obvious. By the look of surprise on Adrien’s face it was anything but obvious. Marinette started to flail around, what the heck, Alya? She not only threw Marinette under the bus, but she was the one driving it back and forth over her mangled corpse.
“Um, I’m not ah, sure.” Adrien started to stutter, avoiding eye contact with both girls. “I don’t, Marinette, not like that-“
Marinette wanted to run all the way home right now and never show her face again.
“Come on!” Alya slyly drawled out as she placed her hand on Marinette shoulder. “You’re both single individual that want to go to this event, why not escort eachother?” Marinette felt like an item up for sale, unfortunately, Alya, wasnt the best salesperson.
Adrien’s worried face suddenly straighten out, his frown now curve upwards in a small smile.
“Oh. You mean as just friends!” He laughed in what Marinette could only identify as relief and man, did that hurt.
“Haha yeah friends of course, just two pal, buddies hanging out at a...couples dance.” Marinette awkwardly sighed, glumly trailing off towards the end. Nino and Alya both send her looks of pity, of course, poor babbling Marinette.
Marinette was sick of being clumsy, she was sick of being tongue tied, she was sick of being friend zoned! Alya was right! She needed to make a move or Adrien would never know how she feels.
“Okay. Well I’ll text you so we can sort out the details and-“
“Actually Adrien,” she found herself interrupting him. “Like Alya said, we’re both single individuals and this is a couples dance, so I was hoping you’d be my date? rather than my friendly escort.” She couldn’t believe it! She did it. She asked Adrien Agreste out.
Her blue eyes flicked towards her other two friend, both their jaws comedically open in shock. Alya seemed to snap out of her trance, her face lighting up in pure glee.
Marinette felt nervous as she peaked back at Adrien, she expected the worse. Instead of a look or sorrow or guilt, Adrien’s face was bright pink as he blushed, a star struck look on his features. She waited a few seconds but his expression didn’t change.
“It doesn’t have to lead to anything, I was just hoping you’d give me a chance to show you who I really am and maybe, get to know you a little better too?” She blantely flirted with confidence she normally only felt behind a magical latex mask.
Adrien just nodded as his face darkened more.
“Oh god, yes.” He finally blurted out, His eyes widen in realisation. He quickly covered his mouth with his hands, he was completely horrified with his brief lack of filter. Marinette smirk, loving the reversal of rolls.
“Alright,” she smirked, leaning in closer to him, making him make an unintelligible noise. “Like you said, you’ll text me right?”
Adrien could only frantically nod as the other two tried very hard (and failed) not to snicker. Marinette feeling very cocky decided to lean in and give him a kiss on the cheek as she departed.
As soon as her pink lips made contact with his soft cheek, it was like a magical spell wore off. The clock striked midnight for Marinette and her magical illusion disapesred and she was awkward, stammering Marinette again.
She took one look at Adrien’s bright red, frazzled expression (something she did) and freaked out. She muttered her goodbyes before she jogged out the now empty classroom door. Although she was super shocked and embarrassed about her flirtatious attitude she felt an overwhelming sense of pride. If Adrien’s reaction had anything to go by it, she may have carried herself out of the friend zone. She walked home that break with a spring in her step and a massive grin on her cheeks. Until she realised this was only a lunch break and she’d have to face him again soon, then she panicked.

One (More) Night
We sat out on the car for awhile...not saying anything...lost in our own thoughts... I soaked in every single second I had her curled up next to me... but it was inevitable that we would have to go back inside...
"I suppose..." she did finally murmur.
"I know... just give me one more minute with you..." I nuzzled her hair, taking another deep breath and breathing her in.
She tightened her grip on me, "the sooner we go in, the sooner we can kick them all out..."
I laughed and I felt it with my entire body. God she was amazing! I grabbed her and kissed her hair, she moved her head so I could kiss her forehead, then her cheek until her lips found mine. I felt sparks, lightning shot through my veins, her touch was electric, her lips were perfect, her body felt like it was made to next to mine.
She pulled away from me slightly, a smile on her lips, "those bastards deserve to know their plan turned out ok."
I couldn't help but chuckle, " yeah, I suppose they do." But I didnt loosen my grip on her.
She got the wickedest look in her eyes then. She leaned in like she was going to kiss me again, my grip on her automatically loosened. Getting ready to grip new areas of her body when-
She jumped back, off the car completely and paused just long enough to meet my totally shocked gaze with twinkling smirk and then took off running to the door.
I lept off the car and took off after her, with her head start she got to the door first and threw it open, but I was just a second behind her. We burst into the house in the middle of Adrien singing. She paused for half a second so she wouldn't run straight into him, and it was just enough for me to catch her.
I grabbed her waist and spun her around to face me, and lifted her off the ground. I spun around in a circle, making her laugh. And even though I could barely hear it over them music, it was one of the greatest sounds I had ever heard in my life.
I loosened my grip on her she slid down towards me. I was still spinning her and she was still laughing. I slid her down until she was at eye level with me and stopped spinning. I kissed her, I felt her hands come up and take my face, pulling me closer to her lips. I was totally lost in her.
I felt her giggle in my arms and it made me smile. I opened my eyes to see her staring back at me. There was so much sparkling in her eyes as she looked at me, the heat, the love, I could FEEL it. I gently set her back on the ground and we both realized we were in the way. She took my hand and we moved towards the couch where Sam had been sitting but motioned for us to take his spot as he stood up and moved off to the side.
I sat down first and pulled her down, wrapping my one arm around her shoulders and the other across her stomach. She snuggled into me, her head laying on my shoulder, her arms going around my waist.
I couldn't stop smiling. I was so happy just sitting there with her.... and with all our old, and new, friends. I looked around the room and realized there were quite a few new faces, and a lot of faces I hadnt seen in a very long time, but even so, each and every face held a smile when i made eye contact. I knew i needed to to make my rounds and reconnect with everyone.... but I just wasnt ready to let go of her yet.
A few minutes later, Adrien finished his song and called an end to the "band practice." As the guys started breaking down equipment, those with nothing to do all started to gather around us on the couch.
We talked and laughed and caught up over the next two hours. The entire time I couldn't get over how wonderful it all felt, being home again. Besides my band mates, these people were my family, and I had forgotten how much they fed my soul. It made it even better having her sitting with me, talking and laughing, teasing. Every second that past healed a part of me that I hadnt even realized was damaged.
Finally Seth caught a small pause in the flurry of conversation, "it's getting late, we should probably let these two have the rest of the night to themselves."
"Better not forget anything," Adrien piped up, "these two wont resurface for years," he smiled at the two of us as everyone started to stand up.
She and I stood up too. I finally had to break my hold on her as I clasped hands and exchanged hugs as we said goodbye. I thanked every single one of them as they left. Soon there was no one left in the house except her and I.
I stepped back from the door as she waved and shut it behind everyone, then she turned towards me. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her to me. I felt her let out a sigh as I buried my face in her hair. We just stood like that for a little while before she pulled back a little. She took my hand and led me back over to the couch.
I sat down sideways and pulled her down next to me. She turned so she sat half facing me, half leaning into me. I wrapped my arms back around her and pulled her close, she leaned her head on my chest.
I stroked her hair, "talk to me." I knew she would know what I meant, that I had talked all night and gotten a lot off my chest, but now it was her turn. I knew it wouldn't be easy to hear, but I didnt have the luxury of not hearing it. She sighed again, but this time it was staggered and tense.
"I lost a big piece of me when you left," she kept her head on my chest, not looking at me.
"I thought I had done something wrong... and that hurt a lot... not knowing why you walked out...I mean NOW I get it," she pushed off of me and leaned back to look at me. She studied my face for a few seconds then looked away again.
"You have always been the one person-the ONLY person I never had a filter for. You were my best friend, an extension of myself, the person I could always talk to... and then... you weren't there anymore..." she glanced at me out of the corner of her eye for just a second before staring back at the floor.
I gripped her with my hands, I wanted to hold her but I knew that, at that moment, i couldn't. I needed to let her do her no matter how badly I wanted to intervene.
"Adam," she sighed again and turned to look at me, I saw her eyes glistening with tears, breaking my heart.
"After awhile...I hated you..." she sniffled as she blinked back tears, "it felt like the worst breakup of my life, and I didnt even know why...." finally a tear slipped down her face but she quickly and angrily wiped it away, frowning slightly at herself.
"I had a lot of pain I had no way of handling... was it me? Was it you? What did I do to deserve being completely abandoned by MY person?"
I couldn't stand it anymore and I went to hold her, to try and shield her from the thoughts running through her head. To try and help carry the pain she was digging back out after burying it so well. But she put her hand on my chest and physically stopped me from scooping her into me. And I felt her hand pushing my heart back, her nails digging into it, I felt it twisting in my stomach, I felt it squeazing all the air it out of my lungs.
I looked at her eyes and saw it all. i saw the anger, I saw the confusion she had to turn into hate to be able to move past it. Then, suddenly, her image became blurry and I realized I was fighting back my own tears. I took a breath to say I was sorry but I stopped myself and it killed me... but I had to let her go...
After a few seconds, her eyes softened and her body started to relax. Her shoulders lowered, and the hand that was still planted firmly on my chest drew back. She ran it up to my face and cupped my cheek, rubbing it with her thumb.
"What do you want from me?" I asked, searching the depths of her eyes.
"I want you to understand that I'm not mad now, but I have a lot of hurt I need to re-evaluate so please let me take my time on it."
I nodded as I felt her back relax under my hand and I very lightly applied a little pressure to it... this time she let me pull her in. I wrapped her up and I felt her arms go around me and pull me towards her. I rested my cheek on the top of her head.
"I will do everything in the universe I can to show you how sorry I am that I ever made you feel even an ounce of what i made you feel."
Her head turned upwards to look at me, "I know you are, I know you didnt mean for it to happen, I just have a lot of bricks I need to pick up from the wall that was just knocked down in my head."
I smirked at her, "well lucky for you, you have a big muscled man to help," I let go of her for only a second while I flexed for her, hoping she would laugh.
"You're such a dork," but she was giggling.
I wrapped my arms back around her and nuzzled her face, "that's 100% accurate... but I'm YOUR dork."

Marinette's Diary (3)
I cant even begin to say how much nicer and easier things got, being able to tell at least one person about being a superhero. Everyone at school seemed happy we were together, although Chloe naturally was a bit upset.
"WHAT?!? you cant be serious!? You and the baker girl?? Over me?!? Re-diculous! Utterly ridiculous!" I smiled as i recalled how she took it. True Chloe fashion.
Alya was understandably a bit confused, but still happy for me. She even said we could double date! If only she knew our double date was a group of all of Paris superheroes! I hadnt even told Adrien that part yet, and he hadnt asked. Yet. Im sure he will, once the need for their help becames necessary, but, one bridge at a time!
Adrien keeps asking when i can come meet his dad. While normally I wouldnt hedge and find excuses not to go, in this instance, after that fiasco with his dads book, Im not in a rush to look his dad in the face any time soon! But i CANT tell Adrien that!
Although, maybe i should? Gosh! I dont know! Its all too much at once! Not that i would EVER give up anything in order to change the outcome, but still! How do i deal?!
This evening, Chat Noir and i finished defeating the bad guy and capturing their akuma when Alya ran up to us, trying to get a new scoop for her ladyblog.
"I can only give you a minute," i told her, as my earrings started to beep.
"Wow! You guys are getting so crazy good! At this rate Hawkmoth wont stand a chance!" She exclaimed, videotaping the whole time.
I smiled at her, trying to think of a whitty response, when Chat Noir dropped down beside me. He ran his hand over my hair and gave me a warm smile.
I smiled up at Chat and he asked, "Is My Lady telling you all about how her ah-mazing partner makes her a better hero?!" He joked, grinning for the camera.
"Oh, for sure Kitty Chat," I smiled coyly at him, and batted my lashes, "we make the purr-fect team!" Chat laughed at my joke.
I looked back at Alya who had a different light in her eye than usual. Like she wanted to ask something, but just wasnt.
"Wow, no more questions from Miss reporter tonight? Cat got your tongue all the sudden?" Chat Noir asked Alya with a laugh.
For once, Alya didnt respond. She just clicked off her video without saying anything further.
I stared at her a bit surprised, this was not like Alya! I was brought out of my thoughts when my earrings beeped again, and Chat touched my hand in warning.
"We have to go Bugaboo," and he lightly tugged on my hand.
I looked at him, nodded, then looked back at Alya and gave her a quick smile and a wave. Still holding Chats hand, we ran aways away before Chat pulled me close and extended his pole to vault us out of there.
We landed in the park next to my house just before both of us transformed back. I reached into my bag for a macaroon for Tikki, and a piece of cheese for Plagg, which i had started to carry just for him. He really was just adorable!
"Its kind of nice, having your secret stash of cheese for Plagg," Adrien remarked, as both Quamis flew up into a nearby tree to eat and talk between themselves.
I smiled at Adrien before holding out a hand for him to take.
"Its not really a big deal, but your welcome."
We walked around the fountain in the park holding hands, while i chewed on Alyas behaviour tonight. What could it mean?
"I can just hear the gears working inside your head," Adrien remarked. "Whats got you worried?"
I pulled him to sit along the edge of the fountain with me, where he wrapped his arm around my shoulders. For a few seconds, i didnt say anything.
"Do you think Alya is suspicious of us?" I finally asked him. "I mean, it was very unlike her tonight." I looked at him, to see if I could tell what he was thinking.
He pursed his lips for a few moments, thinking, and finally shrugged his shoulders a bit. "Honestly, its kind of hard to say. Maybe something we said tipped her off? But i dont remember saying anything out of the ordinary."
I laughed. "Nope, you were your usual Chatty self!"
"Hey!" He exclaimed with mock shock, "you happen to like my witty humor!"
"My Silly Kitty." I whispered, with a smile on my face, as i wrapped both arms around him for a real hug.
He rested his chin on the top of my head, and i could feel him smile. I was exactly where i wanted to be, and, i thought, exactly where Adrien wanted us to be.
Just then, the evening was broken by the sound of running feet, and suddely Alya came into view.
Adrien and i both jumped up from our seated position, and i worried something was wrong!
"Alya, whats wrong?" I called to her. And started to head her way. I glanced back to see Tikki and Plagg perk up and zoom our way. Tikki hiding herself in my bag, and Plagg hiding inside Adriens shirt. Better keep them close in case there was a problem.
We met Alya part way through the park where she stopped and rested her hands on her knees, and bent over, breathing hard.
"I got over here as soon as i could." She managed in between pants. "I REALLY need a word with you!!
Her expression looked serious. I glanced back at Adrien, making sure he was fine with everything.
Alya jumped in quickly, "Oh, him too!" And she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards my house.
Once we were safely inside my room, Alya turned to Adrein and i and demanded, "Are you Ladybug and Chat Noir??!"
I was super shocked! I stared at her wide eyed, not sure what to do, what to say. Where had that come from??
"What?!" I tried to brush it off. "Why on the world would you think that??! Of course we aren't!" I looked at Adrien to see if he had something else to add. Something better to throw her off.
"Do you really think we could pull off being the saviours of Paris??" He asked.
I looked back at Alya, and it didnt look like she was believing us.
"Where did you get such a ridiculous idea from?" I asked her.
Alya crossed her arms in front of her chest and started taping one foot. "Oh come on. I have just spent the last week watching you two being all lovey dovey to each other, did you really think it would skip my notice when Chat Noir was touchy feeler with Ladybug and she DIDNT push him away?!"
"Uh, um, I-it - m-maybe there was a fly? I mean, who knows!" I stammered.
"Ya," Adrien tried to help, "or maybe, coincidentaly, Chat Noir and Ladybug got together around the same time we did?" He mentioned questioningly. "Or who knows, maybe longer and nobody noticed?" He added with a shrug of his shoulders and motion of his hands, trying to look unconcerned.
"Oh come on!" Alya exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air. "Your gonna actually try and lie to me? I'm your best friend Marinette!"
"And its my best friend I am talkimg to and thinking of." I said quietly.
"Oh, I get it," Alya finally said, as she paced away from us, and back again, "this is about the conversation we had the night my sisters were akumatized. About wanting to protect your friends and family from the badies."
I clasped my hands together in front of me, and looked down at the floor. Then i felt Adriens hand on my shoulder. I looked at him, and the look in his eyes made me wonder if he was telling me to just tell her. But how could I? Not only was that one other person who knew, but then Rena Rouges identity was out too! And then how long before Ninos?
I was Ladybug. All of this fell on me.
I walked away from them both to the window and rested my hands on the sil, and lowered my forehead to the glass. What to do, what to do...
I saw Tikki in my bag, trying to catch my eye. She nodded at me, and whispered "trust your instincts."
I smiled at her, glad she understood. So i straightened and turned back to Alya and Adrien. Walking over to Adrien, I took one of his hands in both of mine, as a kind of support.
"Your right Alya, I am Ladybug."
"Ha!" She yelled, and pumped a fist up into the air. "I knew it! There was no mistaking that telltale Adrien hair rub back there!"
Adrien and I looked at each other, and we both blushed. I guess it WAS fairly obvious.
"And your right as well that I am Chat Noir," Adrien said with a smile, never letting his gaze leave mine.
I looked at Alya, finally, to see her grin running from ear to ear.
"This is AWESOME! now we can fight the badies together!" Alya beamed!! So excited that she didnt notice Adrien raise a brow at her.
"Um, Alya?" I drew her attention to me. "Just bc Adrien knows I am Ladybug, doesn't mean he knew who everyone else was..." I left it at that and let it sink in.
Her mouth moved into an "O" and she blushed furiously. "Man, if i had been with anyone else that would have been a major oops, huh?"
"Kind of," I agreed.
"So i take it then that Alya is Rena Rouge." Adrien stated.
"Uh, ha ha, ya," Alya rubbed the back of her neck. "My bad."
I couldn't help it, I let go of Adriens hand and gave Alya a hug.
Alya pushed me back quickly and held me at arms length.
"Oh my god! I can't wait to tell Nino!" Alya exclaims in excitement!!
"Alya, whoa, we can't just tell everyone," Adrien begins, stepping forward and putting a hand on her shoulder, "we still have to keep ourselves safe."
Alya lifted a brow and smirked at me. "He doesn't know does he?"
I rolled my eyes and shook my head. I guess there went my earlier dilemma.
"Nino is Carapace" Alya tells Adrien matter-of-factly.
"What?! No way!" Adrien says excitedly. "Really?"
"It was SOO obvious," Alya began, "im surprised you didnt notice. It only took me like 30 seconds."
I chuckled at the two of them, and put my hand on Adriens shoulder, "don't feel bad for not knowing. Its supposed to be a secret identity, after all. Im sure how close Alya and Nino are is what made her recognize him."
He smiled at me, "ya, your right... But wow! Nino!"
"He was Awesome, wasnt he?!" I said with a chuckle. "I made a great choice with him."
"So wait," Adrien frowned, "do you pick everyone?? Did you pick -me?" He looked worried about that fact. Did he think i had chosen him just because i liked him? I sure hoped not.
"No, i didnt choose you. We were chosen by a..." I tapped my lip and I searched for a good way to put it, "higher power, well say. Only when we needed extra help, did we recieve it."
"Well i dont even care how, I LOVE it!" Alya exclaimed excitedly! "Do you think there will come a time when i DONT have to give you back the Miraculous?"
"I cant answer that." I told her, frowning a but. It was a really good question. One id be sure to ask Master Fu when i saw him next. "That part isnt up to me."
Just then, Tikki and Plagg flew out from their hiding place. Tikki flew over to sit on my shoulder. "The Ladybug and Chat Ring go hand in hand. You cant JUST put out Ladybug, you need the other side to her!"she explained to us.
"Oh wow!" Alya exclaimed, putting her hands on either side of her face. "Is this your Quami? She's adorable!"
"This is Tikki." I told her.
And, not to be outdone, Plagg did a Double flip and hovered next to Adrien, "and im Plagg!"
"Man, this is so Awesome!" Alya did a fist pump in the air. Then flung one arm around me, the other around Adrien, for a group hug.
I was glad it had all worked out. I'd have to explain to Master Fu, but there was no helping it. As i looked at my 2 friends, I knew it was the right call.
