sorry but the image of itachi and shisui shotputting shikako at the hokage hat and running her campaign with or without her input is SO funny because. itachi? as the hokage?? glad even he knows that's a bad idea lmaoo also love how the nara are going to watch their heir's younger twin protest as she's hauled into power with utmost bemusement because WHAT are you doing little fawn?? why are you ambitious. what happened to being a lazy genius like the rest of us. but ok here's our vote i guess...

The idea that Shisui and Itachi looked at the clan elders complaining about wanting an Uchiha Hokage, looked at each other, looked back at the clan elders, then looked at Shikako and wordlessly agreed that throwing Shikako at the problem would be both efficient and more fun is great.

Itachi THEORETICALLY would be a good Hokage, Shisui would PRACTICALLY be a good Hokage, but Shikako would be the best Hokage.

I mean, this IS the universe in which six year old Shikako persuaded her dad to send a betrothal contract to the Uchiha, thereby adding a new clan to their multi-generational long three-clan alliance (not even the Sarutobi, who have traditionally acted as the mentors of the Ino-Shika-Cho are formally part of the alliance) and also, eventually, thwarting Councilor Danzo with soft power and very little effort on her own.

So, like, if anything the Nara clan are like: weird that she's so politically active, but very on brand that she went about it in a way that involved the least amount of personal effort.

Tobirama matter of factly planning a temple of the Shikabane-hime in the middle of Konoha is SENDING me oh my god?? Is Shikako still born to Shikako and Yoshino in this universe? How does everyone react to maybe having a mortal incarnation of their patron deity growing up before their eyes? Wait does Shikabane-hime create the Garden during the Founding era. Is she also worshipped in Sand?? And not to hijack other anon’s prompt but the full saying is “by the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes” so.. Jashin? Does Konoha have beef with Yugakure in this world? I LOVE THIS AU AAHH

First of all, Tobirama is a very clever lad: if a goddess is going to support their village built on the shakiest network of treaties and alliances, then he's going to take that support and use it as a foundation because otherwise all they have to go on is his older brother's charisma and that's NOT going to cut it long term. Also, he really is quite jealous that all Izuna had to do was look at Shikabane-hime to get a cool technique while he has to actually go through the scientific method WHILE ALSO DESIGNING THE VILLAGE.

I think Shikako looks enough like Yoshino that in this universe, they think it's the other way around--that Yoshino is, if not a mortal incarnation of their patron deity (because MAYBE Shikako is immortal in this universe due to the massive amounts of earnest worship actually working to make her a goddess even if she wasn't actually one in the beginning) then some kind of... goddess blessed? Like... this Konoha is so off the rails that there may be a separate order of priest/priestess-nin and Yoshino would be recruited for that.

And, like, I do like the Shikaku and Yoshino's love story, and it would be very sad if they didn't get together, so it's not that the priests/priestesses of the Shikabane-hime CAN'T fall in love and have families (and also, because Shikako is just like. Hey. As long as everyone involved is a consenting adult, the genders of said parties does not matter. Hooray marriage equality decades earlier)

Anyway, then if they do still have child Shikako, it could be a very... !!!! ... A Chosen One!!!! And then, THIS Shikako would be the "she who has divine right" version of Hokage!Shikako from my Hail To The Queen series... but that's maybe getting too self-referential?

I do think Shikabane-hime and Gelel create the Garden during the Founding era--because her arriving in each universe post-Split makes the Garden, if it hasn't already been made--so I would think that, yes, a version of her is also worshiped in Sand. But if she didn't stick around to make contact with the shinobi who would become the founders of Sand, they may know her by a different name? Like, in Land of Wind she is Gelel but in Land of Fire she is Shikabane-hime and it becomes a matter of, like, denominational differences.

Alternatively, rather than the Kazekage clan being called "Sabaku no" (of the Desert) perhaps they are called "Yokuchi no" (of the Oasis)? But I suppose that depends how early on in the timeline she is for Sand.

And finally… IS THAT WHERE THAT PHRASE COMES FROM? Oh my god, I'm so bad at identifying when prompts are references to things. It just goes right over my head T_T

I don't think Yugakure even exists long enough for Konoha to have beef with them. If one of Shikabane-hime/Gelel's early "miracles" DOESN'T include a divine smack down of Jashin, possibly erasing Yugakure--or possibly the whole of Land of Hot Water--from the map via volcano (I mean, hot springs are usually because of geothermals, and if she can make an earthquake she can probably make a volcanic eruption) then I don't know what counts as a miracle.

Day 2

Day 2 was one of their trademark candles. This one was meant to smell like Calcifer’s hearth. At first I didn’t agree, because I didn’t think that’s how it would have smelled… but I think it might actually fit movie!Calcifer. It smells like apples, mostly; rather cozy, but also kind of bright and fresh in a way I don’t really associate with book!Calcifer, who I thought might smell more like bacon or sausages and woodsmoke. It’s really nice, though! My space is a disorganized mess right now, but I definitely NEED to make space so I can light this before it fades!

Christmas Review Two: Smoke & Mirrors Seven Day Advent Calendar

What is one Christmas tradition that is intriguing but frustrating? Advent calendars! This one, ladies, gents, and respectable they, is my first advent calendar. It is a seven-day calendar for lip cosmetics, the only cosmetics I use. The calendar is a beautifully made and simple one with holographic details. A circle holder is on the main tab for a bonus touch. However, the flaps themselves were not embedded correctly. So, one would have to crave it out and dig to pull out.

I'm using E.L.F. Skin Holy Hydration Makeup Melting Cleansing Blam to remove makeup and using Eos Pumpkin Crème Brûlée Lip Balm as a primer for the lipstick. . Day One is Smoke & Mirrors Lip Balm Day Two is Smoke & Mirrors Lip Liner Day Three is Smoke & Mirrors Hydrating Lip Mask Day Four is Smoke & Mirrors Lip Topper Day Five is Smoke & Mirrors Vitamin C Infused Lip Scrub Day Six is Smoke & Mirrors Lipstick Day Seven is Smoke & Mirrors Strawberry Lip Balm

All thoughts are initial, and a full review will be a week later.

Smoke & Mirrors Lip Balm. A red and white spiral with no color tint. It's a clear and shiny balm. The first application was a bit goopy, but I think it's because I first opened it. So, my initial thoughts are five out of ten. It was alright, but the gloopiness notched it down. There is a faint scent, but I'm unsure what it is.

Smoke & Mirrors Lip Liner. A mini red. It was my first time using a liner, and I wasn't disappointed. It's smooth but slightly stiff, which I liked because I wanted to control it. So, eight out of ten for now.

Smoke & Mirrors Hydrating Lip Mask. It was one mask, and it was my first time using one. There's nothing but hate. After the fifteen-minute application, my lips were itchy. Granted, I could've messed up when I used a lip scrub beforehand. If done, I apologize. However, my final review is zero out of ten. As such, I believe they're a one-time use, but I don't know.

Smoke & Mirrors Lip Topper. It's a pink tint with, I think, a pink shimmer. There is a black speck in mine. I'm unsure what it is and didn't notice any ill effects. There is a faint scent, but I don't know what it is. Anyway, I liked the lip topper, eight out of ten.

Day Five is Smoke & Mirrors Vitamin C Infused Lip Scrub. A squeeze tube and the first time using one. I didn't care for it, three out of ten.

Day Six is Smoke & Mirrors Lipstick. It's red, but I'm unsure if it's the same color as the liner. It's packaged and feels like an E.L.F. lipstick, but I think the Smoke & Mirrors formula is better than theirs. So, my initial thoughts are eight out of ten.

Day Seven is Smoke & Mirrors Strawberry Lip Balm. It felt like nothing, and the strawberry scent was virtually non-existent. So, it's a three out of ten for me.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the advent calendar. So, I give it a seven out of ten. I got mine at Five Below, and if you own it, tell me your thoughts. Thank you for reading and take care.

24 Days of Tea, Day 1

So I got a tea advent calendar from Imperial Teas of Lincoln this year, and I have always wanted to properly document my tea drinking because I want to keep track of what I do or don't like so I'm going to do one post for every day :D this is what the box looks like:

I prepare tea in lots of different ways, though I always use the temperature typically used for that tea, e.g. always use 100C for black/red tea. Though the teas aren't a surprise for each day, I prefer picking out what I have time for that day, and I mostly prepare tea using the Gong fu method, but I do have milk tea in a mug for some teas and sometimes double boil tea in a pan if its something like Chai with lots of whole spices, I even cold brew tea a lot haha, I get creative depending on the type. Anyway here is day 1!!

This is Gunpowder Temple of Heaven, which is a green tea. I prepared this using the Gong fu style and it was wonderful, it was mild and a little smoky like the description said, and actually in the first steep (I don't throw out the first steep on a tea pet because I don't have a traditional set yet, I make do with a cheaper mix of things I already have in the kitchen) it almost tasted like popcorn. It was a pretty typical high quality green tea with that grassy but slightly sweet and smoky flavour, and here is the colour on the third steep:

Very pretty light yellow that looked great in my white tea cup. The flavour lasted VERY long, and my mother ended up mixing it with another green tea in a pot brew. Very nice tea session :)
