“Do I Know Someone Who Can Help Us With ____?” (2d6)
2. No; the person you thought could help refuses and adds another complication to the situation. (Example complications: they demand payment for a past debt, they are with someone you wanted to avoid, or they call the authorities regarding your illegal activities.) 3. The person you know who could help has gone missing, you’d have to find them first. 4. Yes, but they demand a steeper price than you would expect. Furthermore, if you refuse they will be offended. 5. Yes, but things are awkward between you. The price they ask will be generous, but only after an uncomfortable conversation. 6. Yes, but the help they can offer is sub-par, or only half of what you need. 7. Yes, but they need you to do a small favor for them right now before they help you. 8. Yes, but you’ll owe them one. Could be a future favor they call on, or a cut of whatever money you’re after, or something else. 9. Yes; they’ll give you a good price but it’s not free. 10. Yes, but they don’t seem too happy about it - you’ll have to look for help somewhere else next time. 11. Yes, there’s someone who owes you one and you can cash in that favor. 12. Yes, and that person also gives you an unrelated piece of helpful information.

25 City Ruins Adventure Seeds
by Robb at readytorole.com
Treasure hunters claim to hear the voices of children playing in a walled off section of the city, but can’t find a way to get in. The voices fade at night but no adults are heard calling them.
A half-ogre calling himself the Baron of the Wastes has taken up residence in the city, and is recruiting any monsters who will work with him. Those who have gotten close enough to hear say that he is looking to build an army to terrorize the countryside.
Strange, colorful lights appear over the city at night swirling and dancing in the sky. In the morning they descend atop a preserved, hard to access tower in the center of the city.
A merchant who has returned from the ruins of the city is selling treasures she has uncovered. A family who claims to be originally from there says that some of those treasures belong to their family but have no proof, and therefore are looking for those who can help.
Giant webs have quickly been cast, covering nearly the entire city in a week. As the webs begin to reach toward local forests and villages and giant spiders have been spotted, panic has erupted and a search for a way to deal with them is underway.
Orcs and trolls have been fighting over control of the ruins for months now, but recently crudely written signs have appeared asking for mercenaries to join the orcs. They claim that they just want to have a place to stay but the trolls are set on destroying the city.
A thick miasma has been emanating from city ruins, making nearby travelers sick with an unknown illness. The local magistrate wants an investigation to take place and put an end to it.
A lone skeleton wearing old, tattered finery was seen near the city, waving arms towards travelers and making strange sounds. Some say it appeared as though it was beckoning them towards the city, but none have been foolish enough to approach.
A large crystal fragment brought back from the city has recently awakened, speaking telepathically to any nearby asking for help. They are claiming to be a soul from the past, and begs those who might be willing to return with them to prevent the city’s destruction to do so.
A black dragon wyrmling has recently made its nest in the city, claiming the area for itself with the help of some kobold followers. A kobold recently came to civilization to hand over a note saying as much and warning people to stay away and pay a tithe.
Ghosts go about their business in an old tavern, not even aware that they’re dead. One lone soul is aware and asks for help finding and burying the physical remains of those inside so that they all may finally rest.
A group of ragged, nearly feral humans and elves have been sighted near the city, causing speculation about their ancestry. Some believe that they are the descendants of those who went into hiding when the city fell and that all efforts should be made to make peace with them.
Every night, glowing footprints appear leading into the city’s marketplace, where they confusingly walk in circles and are hard to follow to any determinable destination. They disappear in the sunlight and show up in a new pattern afterwards.
A giant effigy in the city that can be seen from the road is being built and expanded upon by gnolls, who flock to the city in growing numbers. People are understandably frightened by this, especially since the gnolls appear to be growing in size as the effigy grows.
The Builders Guild is looking to hire some protection in the city as they’ve been contracted to start demolishing and rebuilding parts of the city. Since they started at least one worker gets found turned to stone each day.
Last night, various spells could be seen going off around an intact tower, leading some to believe a wizard has been alive in the city this whole time. A friend of the city’s archmage holds out hope that it is him and wants to make contact with the wizard.
Every year, the villagers that live near the city gather and light candles around the city’s perimeter. They say this wards off the evil spirits and souls of the dead inside the city from coming out and attacking them, but this year the candles won’t stay lit for more than a moment.
Golems made from old debris have been stalking around the city, aggressively attacking nearby travelers by throwing more debris at them. Who made these monsters, and why protect an abandoned pile of rubble?
Buildings in the city have started collapsing, leaving some to wonder what’s going on behind the broken walls. Some brave scouts who have ventured in say that they are seeing huge holes and tunnels appearing under the city, and the buildings are falling in.
A floating castle has drifted over the city and stopped, and long rope ladders have been lowered. The heraldry on the castle and those descending the ladders is entirely unfamiliar to any who see them.
Highwaymen have been harassing travelers and have taken some hostages inside of the city. They are asking for weapons made of silver rather than gold in exchange for their safety.
A beam of red light shines down onto the city, directly onto the temple of the goddess of life. This is an unheard of occurrence, and her followers want answers.
A statue of the ruined city’s first ruler has been successfully excavated and moved to safety into a nearby town. Now, small cracks are appearing and moisture seeps out through the eyes of the statue, leading many to believe it is cursed.
Excavators claim to have uncovered a secret passage under the castle, and say they believe it was filled with treasures unaccounted for by history. However, after the first attack by undead, they would rather experienced adventurers clear it out in exchange for a cut of the treasure.
According to the local alchemist, a very rare gem is required to make the antidote to the plague that is spreading around. The last known location of one is set in the throne in the heart of the ruined city.

25 Urban City Adventure Seeds
by Robb at readytorole.com
People have started reporting sightings of large rats near the sewers, and some claim that someone lurking in the shadows commands them! The guards have no interest in delving down into the muck to investigate.
An apparently once beautiful manor within the city has been deemed as haunted by citizens now that it is old and decrepit. Some who claim to have been inside say that each time you go in the layout of the house is different.
After announcing some political changes for the city, a poisoned arrow narrowly misses a member of the council speaking to the public. All that was seen of the assassin was the blur of their movement and that their bow was silver.
Fires have been becoming more common in the city, and new reports make it seem as if they are connected. A few fires in, citizens have noticed foreign letters burned into the site of each fire, but no meaning has been ascertained as of yet.
A smuggler of illegal goods was caught and thrown in jail to await trial. He tells anyone who will listen that he was framed and that the real criminal is an invisible goblin who made him do it.
A powerful wizard recently moved into the city and erected a tower for him to practice spells. That was all good, until about a quarter of a mile radius from his tower disappeared in an arcane explosion overnight.
About a dozen goblins halfheartedly run at the town gate, weapons lazily drawn and some dragging. When they approach the guards, they beg to be let in or their orc masters will kill them for their insolence.
Dueling merchants keep lowering their prices in attempt to steal business from the other. Unfortunately, the low prices caused a brawl to break out in the marketplace and now some rare magic items have gone missing from a nearby stall.
A new noble has requested court with the royal family to pay respects, but people are suspicious of his servants- golems made of various materials, including flesh.
A merchant has moved into a run down shop to start selling miscellaneous goods. People are amazed at his low prices and high quality items, until someone realizes that his wares match those that were supposed to arrive on a caravan that got raided coming to the city.
An outbreak of odd rashes on children in a certain part of the city causes a quarantine, and even their parents aren’t allowed to see them. Clerics are baffled as some of their strongest spells are proving ineffective, though anyone who has reached maturity doesn’t seem affected.
A entrepreneurial outsider has come to the city to setup a casino, promising profits that would benefit all. People are split on whether or not this is a good thing, but the council is resistant to turn down the money despite rumors of a shady past.
An actor is murdered during a performance at the theater; it took everyone a while to realize this as they were stabbed in the heart when they was supposed to be killed in the play, allowing the masked killer to escape. All of the other actors, including the one who was supposed to kill them in the play, are accounted for and have alibis.
A new mercenary group fronting as a guild has set up headquarters within the city and are offering their services to those with enough coin. They claim they will take any job, and few who have dealt with them in the past accuse them of extortion.
During the night, a traveling circus that was in the city was vandalized, including a cage holding a magical beast; a doppelganger to be exact. The guards urge everyone to be on high alert as the search for the proverbial needle in the haystack commences.
From out of nowhere the army of a rival kingdom surrounds the city and demands them to surrender. Rather than being led by the old king who signed the peace treaty between the cities years ago, his arrogant son serves as general of the forces.
A retired necromancer has turned to running a farm outside of the city, raising the dead to be his tireless farmhands. While the animals don’t seem to mind the undead handling them, other farmers question the ethics of this and want the farm closed down.
One of the largest banks in the city has put out another search to find and sponsor a group of dungeon delvers. In exchange for funding the gear and supplies of a group, the bank wants to stake a claim of any valuables found on their journeys. Seeing as how their last few groups failed to return, some wonder why they keep trying to entice new business.
After finally being approved by the leaders in the religious district, a priest of an evil god has finally been given the okay to build a temple to their deity. This has started an internal debate of whether the priest’s right to worship should be able to infringe on the civilians’ right to feel safe, and the priest has begun ironically receiving death threats.
A infamous criminal escaped the city prison last week and the manhunt for them has ramped up. A special inquisition team was put together to find them, but as the inquisition becomes more forceful civilians are beginning to complain about their tactics
A wizard has gotten approval from the council to open a zoo, featuring a wide array of magic creatures and plant life. He has been met by protesters led by a druid who claim that keeping the animals in a zoo is inhumane.
Guards can be seen chasing an increasing number of young children around the city after the child steals something of value. In each case, when the child is caught a wisp-like entity exhales from the child’s mouth and the child claims to have no memory of the theft.
A coliseum has opened, allowing anyone brave enough to enter for glory and gold or meet their end. They claim that they only feature willing combatants, but one man who was to take on a lion screamed that he was a slave before being crossbowed by the guards employed by the owner.
Recent bandit activity around the city has the guards at the gates on high alert, causing them the screen everyone who enters. This causes a tough time for a few specific races, sometimes denying them altogether for no apparent reason other than suspicion.
After a particularly rainy week, a grey sludge has risen through the ground and dry, effectively cementing anything within 2 inches of the ground. This includes people, animals, carts, and other fixtures, and understandable people are upset and confused.

Slice of Life Adventure Hooks
We spent some times yesterday writing some adventure hooks for our dungeon year project. One of the things we want to really dig into is slice of life and cozy adventures you can have at different locations.
Have you written any? Wanna share? I'd love to see more examples!
Here's the d6 table I wrote yesterday, that take place at a campground's ranger's cabin:
1. A group of campers discovers a hidden compartment in the Ranger's cabin, containing a mysterious map whose lines and contours shift and change depending on where you stand in the Grove. 2. A storm forms and begins to rage over the cabin, shrouding it in a dense curtain of rain, lightning and winds. It shakes and pummels the cabin. As the storm rages on, strange noises and flickering lights lead the campers to believe the cabin may be haunted by a malicious spirit, or the beginnings of a powerful blip. 3. A group of many diverse baby fauna arrived overnight on the cabin's porch. Ranger Murie has asked the campers to figure out how to care for them while discovering which plane they belong to and getting them back to their parents, while discovering why they were delivered to the cabin in the first place. 4. The ranger's cabin has been robbed! The campers must work together to gather clues and figure out who the culprit is. 5. Ranger Murie (or the Grove Ranger) falls ill, and the campers must step in to take over the daily duties of maintaining the cabin and the Grove while finding a cure to help Ranger Murie survive the ordeal. 6. The campers find an old, handwritten journal in the ranger's cabin that tells the story of a past summer at the camp, and decide to try and recreate some of the adventures described within its pages.

A transcript of the tweet thread screenshot:
Some time after the knight had passed from their wounds. The Squire finally made good on the promise they made at that final parting.
A stout foundation and frame was raised on that very spot. Many rooms it contained. A hearth room for tales, merriment, and mourning. A kitchen for good food. Soft beds for drraming and healing. A stable for those passing through...and the Squire.
An ear for those who needed an exit from their maze of thoughts and a voice to others who had lost their way.
The Squire looked at their inn after it had been built and all was as it should be. All except a name. Long they thought. Untilat last they burst into laughter. Tears of bitter joy welled up as they wrought the words onto a sign.
"The Good Knight's Rest."

To give you more of a visual when following the characters and lore surrounding Husgeor Port, I made a map using https://watabou.itch.io/medieval-fantasy-city-generator.
It is a free website that couldn’t be easier to use, and is perfect for any writers or DMs in need of a quick, easy map layout. I welcome you to use this particular map in your own ttrpg campaign if you have one, and to explore around and share with me who else you meet around town! There are plenty of adventures to fall into.

🌊 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙖 𝟯 🌊
A seaside military town has been having problems with eccentric zealots harassing people in the streets about "The coming of the Ancient One". Also, probably unrelated, more and more seafaring vessels have been disappearing out on the ocean. 🐙⛵️🦑
Another one loosely based on an in-campaign quest I made for my party. The town's name was Ironhull I believe.
Also, please like and save this post if you found it useful, it would really help me out 😊

The Miroleth
Imagine a D&D adventure where the BBEG is a cross between a lich, a Matrix agent, and lycanthropy.
Travelers have reported hideous, dripping shadowy figures on the roads leading to the secluded valley of Trommelsten. When they get there, they see children using wands to hurl bolts of black magic at one another, dodging and laughing. When one of them is struck by a bolt she shouts “bluggghh” and dies dramatically, giggling the whole way, then hops up for the next round.
There’s also an encounter with an older gentleman screaming for help from inside his house. Upon entering they find that he was attempting to move his potbelly stove, rolled a nat 1, and pulled all 800 pounds of it down on himself. He has a broken leg and can’t shift the weight off. He’s surprisingly upbeat about the experience, which seems at first like a sign of shock to any medics in the group, but there’s also little swelling and extremely limited bleeding. He attempts to wave off any healing. If the party doesn’t heal him they get a big clue, as he appears again less than an hour later back on his feet.
The curse the children are flinging around is the Miroleth, a ghastly entity’s viral soul. In the early stages of infection there are a few basic effects:
Loses the ability to see the Night Walkers’ true forms or to perceive them as threatening.
Gains the ability to cast Miroleth Infection as a cantrip
Disadvantage on saving throws to resist any kind of domination or persuasion magic by an entity with higher infection.
At the second stage, there are other more noticeable effects.
Regeneration 1/hour. This effect is nullified for an hour after being touched by holy water, gold, bright sunlight, or a Cleric’s turn undead effect.
Advantage on all Charisma-based skills when dealing with entities of lower infection.
Not permitted a saving throw to resist Miroleth Possession.
Dying in this state causes the victim to jump to fourth-stage infection unless they are purified within 24 hours.
At the third stage the victim begins to undergo notable transformation.
Skin begins to lose color, not unlike vampire spawn. In fact if I write out this adventure I’m going to recommend suggesting vampires as an early red herring, though a good knowledge check should point out the scientific method: that while there are similarities there’s also a lot of counterevidence and stuff that doesn’t fit.
Skin also becomes more physically vulnerable to gold, taking roughly 1 damage/minute of exposure. This pain causes a hot-stove effect and has had an interesting effect on the economy, putting gloves in high demand for the merchants.
Victims are no longer able to receive healing from good- or neutral-aligned deities or powers.
Regeneration speed increases to 1/minute, though the effect is still nullified for a full hour under the above conditions.
Being struck by turn undead also inflicts the Frightened condition (no save).
At the fourth stage the victim is starting to exhibit more obvious undead traits.
Blood is now pitch-black.
Upon being exposed to full darkness at night, victim becomes a Night Walker, an oni-like undead roughly 9′ tall, dripping with shadow and hungry for flesh. These entities do not attack the infected. Also, they will cast Miroleth Infection at their targets roughly half the time instead of making regular attacks. The effect ends if the target is exposed to sunlight
Maintains a constant low-grade telepathic connection with the Miroleth, functionally acting as an extension of its will.
Counts as both an Evil Outsider (native) and Undead for most spell effect purposes. (i.e., suffers a penalty on consecrated ground and to hit targets with Protection from Evil, can be turned and even disintegrated by turn undead)
Reflections show the victim dripping with black ichor. As with the Night Walker, this is not visible to the infected.
The Miroleth Possession spell now physically transforms the victim into a duplicate of the Miroleth. Upon dying as the Miroleth the victim becomes a disgusting morass of ichor and bone, and will rise as an undead in 2d4 days unless rites are performed.
Honestly I’m not sure what the process is for progressing the soul-virus from stage to stage. Part of me wants it to be some kind of weekly rite the community takes part in, basically Evil Church, but part of me wants it to be more like standard diseases, a Charisma save (since it’s a soul disease) every week or so.
But like, you get the idea. You can see why this monster would be super spooky for a party to go up against and also the logistical nightmare involved in making sure the BBEG is actually dead. To truly annihilate the Miroleth you’re trying to kill magic smallpox.
I like the idea that without the influence of the Miroleth’s locus of power, whatever that is, the disease has a substantial chance to heal on its own and, if it progresses, to simply morph into ghoul fever or similar necro-disease, turning the victim into standard undead upon continued failed saves. So it can’t just send its people every which-way and take over the world by casting Miroleth Infection at random. In fact the hook may be that it tried that and now there’s a zombie problem a town over from Trommelsten.

25 Dwarven City Adventure Seeds
By Robb at Readytorole.com
The dwarves have found a new ore in their latest tunnel, and slowly the miners who have been exposed are entering into comas.
The orcs who frequently try unsuccessfully to raid the city have stopped coming recently, but now goblins trying to make peace have taken their place.
An elvish diplomat has earned the dwarf king’s ear. The nobles are happy, but the rest of the dwarves are frustrated with the changes being made.
The Runeslab, an ancient magic-infused piece of earth that powers the dwarves’ magic, has gone inert causing all of their magic to fail.
When called on by the council for guidance, the spirits of the ancestors have been quiet. Additionally, weird noises have been heard around the city’s burial grounds.
A single dwarf from outside the city has apparently dug his way into the city, and now claims to be the queen’s estranged son.
The guard captain can beat any dwarf in a feat of strength, and doesn’t look a day over 100. The weird thing is, digging into city records show she’s held her rank for longer than any living dwarf has been alive.
One by one, dwarves wake up to see another house covered in giant fungi. The fungi only seem to spring up when the dwarves are sleeping.
In an attempt to get more trade, the dwarves have rerouted a river through a tunnel into their city. Trade is now booming, but the people who lived downstream are struggling to survive without their source of water.
At the end of a tunnel just dug by the dwarves they found a large chamber that is an exact replica of their city- except there’s not a soul to be found there. Construction as recent as last week in the real city is present in the replica.
Large cracks have started to show in the statues of prominent ancestors of a certain era, and no one is sure why.
Someone is painting large X’s on the doors of about 5 houses each day. At night, the inhabitants of one of the houses go missing and are replaced with piles of rocks, and the rest of the X’s vanish from the doors.
The dwarves have been training hippogryphs to serve as mounts, but occasionally a hippogryph will return from its flight without its rider, with several gem-like growths protruding from it’s body.
It’s a dwarven festival, but the ale appears to be missing! Weren’t the indigenous gnomes grumbling about a dumb, dwarf holiday?
A dwarf wizard has come out of a long solitary study with an uncanny control over spiders of all sizes. Many are put off by the horse-sized spider he now rides as a mount.
The daily, minute-long rumbling throughout the city would signal that it was halfway through the day consistently for the past 50 years, but last week it suddenly stopped completely.
A young dwarf child kept warning people to stay out of the tunnels but she can’t explain why. The next day, the tunnel flooded with lava, and no one down there made it out alive.
Earth elementals sprung up all over the city about a week ago. So far they’ve only stood in place where the rose, but today one started walking around aimlessly.

you know, a big reason i kinda drifted away from the phandom last year was because of how prevalent dp x dc content had become. at the time, i was more of a marvel girlie and i didn’t know much about the batfam or dc content in general. but this year during my (somewhat unintentional) hiatus i coincidentally got really into superman media, which then spiraled into an interest in the batfam and dc as whole and oh god I GET IT NOW
I GET THE APPEAL
dp x dc content creators, keep it going, y’all are doing wonders for this community
