“However it has to happen, I wish for the power to keep Simon safe..”
Good God they make me sick.

The Land of Ooo in Shermy and Beth's time feels barren...deserted...empty...dusty...devoid...depressed...lonely...melancholy...dead. BMO has forgotten Finn's name. Finn and Jermaine's statues have crumbled down, the old hero forgotten. The Candy people are stuck in the capsules of a giant gumball machine. It seems like everyone, particularly the pups, Jake's descendants, are leaving the planet. Everything's gone. Everything we know, everything we thought we could depend on seeing when we turned on the screen, all abandoned and grayed out as we realize that Finn and Jake have been forgotten, along with almost everything else that might've happened in Adventure Time. This land, this washed-out future we have stepped into it, is entirely different, with only an echo, a shadow, the sound of a laugh, remaining from a thousand years ago for us to notice and point out to each other as drowning people pointing out lifelines to our fellow victims.
"What remains, tell me what remains, some loser smashed out your brains..."

My Brain: Adventure Time Finale, but Simon ends up having amnesia after escaping Golb and Betty fusing with Golb, causing him to only remember his name and Betty. When Marceline goes to comfort him he gets more distressed because he thinks some random stranger is now hugging him and making assumptions about what Betty would've wanted.
Me: ... You know, sometimes I hate you-
My Brain: Don't worry, he'll get his memories back... very slowly...

Lil adventure time post:
Don’t come at me yet read first. Am I the only one who gets kinda sad and bummed out every time we see shermy and beth in an ep? (which I know was literally twice but just bear with me)
Not anything wrong with the characters I actually really like them and I think they have a cute dynamic and are fun. I love when people make comics of them etc
Just- knowing that it’s the future of Ooh and seeing how different everything was- like how their world is kind of a reminder that all of the characters we love except bmo are dead- (including possibly pb and marceline even though they were supposed to be immortal together forever 😭)
And also for example seeing in f&c how divided Ooh seems :C
And I know the whole point is that things end and change but “everything stays- ever so slightly” and it’s okay.
Which is actually a really nice message and sweet- but like even if the message is good and the characters are fun and reminiscent of the ones we love;
It just a still makes me a bit sad, you know?
I guess now im in my older teen 16/17 yr old philosophical existencial adventure time arc and no longer my 13 year old silly goofy arc. Me and Finn twinning frrrrr
Anyway thanks for coming to my Ted talk I continued some thoughts in the tags

In a way, the land of Ooo in Shermy and Beth's time gives me similar vibes to "Fourth of July" Sufjan Stevens and "Youth" by Daughter. Not even necessarily the lyrics (you could interpret that as a still-living Marcy and Bonnie missing Finn and Jake though) but also just...the feel of quiet grief. The sad instrumental. The lonesomeness.
