Goddess-Clarke’s Bellarke Masterlist

It’s finally here!!!! It took me literal months to compile this HUGE list of Bellarke fics but I felt like this was a good time to get it out to you guys. I feel like with the influx of canon bellarke information, we’ve gotten both validation and heartache. So here are some of my favorite fics (196 of them to be exact). I tried to group them first by canonverse/modernverse. Then by main trope (marriage, babies, canon divergent, roomates, etc). I also then put the smaller tropes in parentheses so you guys can find something specific you’re looking for like angst, fluff, oneshots or multichapter, bed sharing, smut, etc. I also wanted to write in trigger warnings (TW) when I could, though tbh there aren’t very many because most of these are fluffy. I also put a small warning when Bellarke is in other major relationships at any point during the fic because tbh I hate not knowing that.

I've always used the word "endgame" when talking about fictional couples (and sometimes real ones)

To me, endgame means forever. And no matter what their storylines are, my OTPs are endgame to me. Nothing will ever change that.

Your endgame(s) might be different than mine. That's okay. As long as your favourite couple(s) are endgame to you, forever is possible.

who falls asleep on the couch: bellamy because of his utter lack of self preservation. echo smiles fondly when she sees him sleeping and presses a kiss to his forehead (because that's becho's love language) and on occasion spoons him.

makes friends with the neighbors: i think both of them do, especially if the neighbors are members of spacekru, for example, marper, memori, or zaven live next door (i feel an au coming on). bellamy tells the dad jokes and echo talks about her hobby for archery and her workout routine (that being said, i think bellamy and echo are the workout couple, and braven would be the nerd couple)

is the adventurous eater: i think bellamy more than echo, but they both like to try new things together.

hogs the covers at night: bellamy is very generous, and echo isn't the type (probably raven is), so they share the covers and cuddle together

forgets to do the dishes: they both take turns, in my internal au headcanon verse and in the canonverse. neither forget. they have a little chore wheel/chart.

tries to surprise their partner more often: i think they're both equals at this. they don't really out-surprise each other. now while i'm answering this ask that i think about it their love is really selfless and equal and beautiful and healthy.

leaves dirty laundry on the floor: neither

stays up until 2 am reading: bellamy, 10000%. sometimes he likes to read to echo/teach her how to read (there's a headcanon i once read that he teaches her to read thats really soft and pure, even though im pretty sure the grounders already know how to but it's sweet).

Just love you text about Octavia and darkness. I also want to ask, what do you think about this weird fetish jroth has of women in the show always needing to get "redemption" while, none of the leading man of the show needing to get through this?

It’s annoying as fuck, basically. I am angry that Bellamy and Kane in particular have never been properly held to account for all the shit they’ve done, and that anyone trying to hold them to account for their actions (and by “anyone” the answer is usually “Octavia”) is treated by the narrative as being unreasonable and unhinged. In season 3, literally no one besides Octavia, Clarke and Kane seem to care that Bellamy’s just massacred a bunch of allies. Everyone else just shrugs and has no problem with him being on Adventure Squad. Clarke and Kane also only give him some stern words and then let him go. Octavia holds him to account more than that (we’ll be getting back to the particulars of that in different asks), but she’s portrayed by the narrative as being unhinged and extreme in her reactions and that his pain over her pain is more important than her pain directly. Which is gross and sexist. Meanwhile in season 6, everyone’s hating on Octavia, when she didn’t do anything to them. Hundreds of people died in the gorge, but that was because of Kane's betrayal of the plan that Spacekru made, which was a solid plan of survival and victory (Diyoza even says as much, and that’s why Kane betrays them). Plus no one they cared about died. So why do they hate her? History has shown us in this show that no one cares about people killing anyone unless they personally suffered a loss as a result. So it literally makes no sense, besides this fetish for demonizing women and exalting men. Sexism is gross and is one of my biggest problems with this show.

Now THIS is MY kinda ask! It took me a full day to think about this ask because I wanted to answer it as thoroughly as possible, but now that my writer's block has cleared up, it's time to answer this one.

My Top Ten Ships (in no particular order)

John Murphy and Emori kom Spacekru ( The 100 )

The ultimate rags to riches love story. These two went from having absolutely nothing, fighting tooth and nail for just the smallest scrap to get by to living in a huge castle on a moon. You can't get better than that!

Without a doubt the most passionate and intimate couple in the series. That scene where they share each other's very souls? Epic!

What makes this romance such a strong favourite for me is how it surprised us all. I don't think anyone was betting on John Murphy of all characters to end up in the show's most enduring love story.

Lois Lane and Clark Kent ( Superman )

If you have Lois and Clark as a ship, you're never starving because their love story has been adapted to practically every form of media out there. Comics, Radio, TV shows, Movies, Books, Animation, Video Games, you name it, they got it. It's a buffet!

Their staying power as a couple is incredible. 80+ years later, and people STILL get goosebumps whenever they meet for the first time in any new Superman continuity. To have the ability to take people's breath away like that is unbelievably powerful.

The way they inspire each other to reach new heights, to beat the odds, and to take challenges head on is eternally rewarding to see. They are the definition of power couple.

The Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler ( Doctor Who )

These two right here are at the root of my entire blog because my newfound obsession with Doctor Who was perfectly timed with me starting this blog. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for them, so they'll always occupy a special place on here.

Every time I look at them, they just radiate happiness and comfort. They're each other's beacon of hope in the dire of situations. All of time and space is a much more beautiful place thanks to them!

What will always make me emotional about these two is how they saw something beautiful in each other, and bit by bit, they gave each other the courage to show it off to the rest of the world.

D'Artagnan and Constance D'Artagnan nee Bonacieux ( The Musketeers )

Speaking of going back in time, let's go back to 17th Century France where we meet my next ship, D'Artagnan and Constance from The Musketeers, my favourite period drama romance.

What I love the most about them is how they provide each other the one thing that's been missing in their lives. D'Artagnan liberates Constance from a life of boredom, emboldening her heart that's been yearning for adventure. Constance becomes D'Artagnan's sanctuary, becoming his home after losing his own.

In this version of the story, Constance is able to defy her fate and live, so we're able to see their relationship grow, and by the end of it, they become a formidable team.

Niles Crane and Daphne Moon ( Frasier )

If there was an award for the best sitcom romance, this one would take home the big prize, because Niles and Daphne are a showstopper.

What makes them so emotionally resonant for me is how, when they first meet, they both are a little insecure and lonely in their own way. Their combined happiness and newfound confidence when they're finally able to be together is so worth the wait!

Then, of course, there's the sublime modern fairy tale aspect to their story. It's a bit like Cinderella in a lot of ways!

Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese ( The Terminator )

I love 80's action movies, I love sci-fi, I love time travel stories, and I love romance, so Sarah and Kyle's romance is a winning combination for me.

The Terminator, for the most part, is a movie that's fairly bleak, and that's why Sarah and Kyle's romance with each other is such a standout. It's the one string of hope that eventually leads to humanity's victory over the machines.

I'm a huge sucker for the bodyguard crush trope, too, so it makes this ship tremendously appealing. What makes it even better is that halfway through the movie, they trade places, and it's her protecting him.

Father Andrew Kiernan and Frankie Paige ( Stigmata )

Now for something from my more obscure collection of obsessions: Stigmata. Still in the vein of talking about tropes, this ship's all about having some fun with the Hot Priest trope. Forbidden love at its finest, am I right?

What draws me into this dynamic and into this story is its subtlety. It doesn't hit you over the head with it, which makes every intimate touch and moment they have hit like a train off its rails whenever they occur throughout the movie's runtime.

Now this is just my personal take on the ending of the movie(it has an open ending), but I like to think that Andrew eventually retires being a priest because he can't fight his feelings for Frankie, and they go off to be together.

Talon Spears and Garret Spears ( The Outpost )

This was the little ship that could because I thought for sure the series would get cancelled and left on an unresolved cliffhanger due to the utter lack of promotional material it received from The CW, but it managed to make it to four seasons and finished on a satisfactory, conclusive note.

And that endurance to make it to the end is definitely instilled in these two, because they never stopped fighting for each other, protecting their realm with everything they had.

Through compassion, bravery, and resourcefulness, they won the hearts of the people, becoming their champions. They're truly deserving of their royal titles.

Cyclops and Rogue ( X-Men Evolution )

When you think couples from the X-Men franchise, your mind usually goes to the regular suspects: Scott x Jean, Anna Marie x Remy, but this series will have you thinking twice on that front because of this unexpected surprise.

In this series, Cyclops and Rogue work so well off of each other. They're a walking contradiction because despite having a lot of common ground with each other, their personalities couldn't be more different. That creates a perfect storm of opposites attract + birds of a feather.

One day soon, I hope to see a continuation of this version of the X-Men, because it would mean I would be able to see more of these two.

Commander Nate Shepard and Jack ( Mass Effect )

This is a seemingly new addition onto my blog, but it really isn't, because I've been a fan of Mass Effect since 2012. Back in the day, I wasn't able to capture video footage of my custom Shepard with Jack because I'm a console player, but with the PS4 being able to record gameplay footage, now I can! It feels so much more personal this way instead of using the default Shepard, you know?

I feel like this portion of this massive list needs its own segment, because I have so much more to say about them(it involves a lot of explaining about how I've developed my Shepard's backstory and why it aligns so perfectly with Jack's), but that wouldn't be fair to the rest who're on this list.

So I'll just say this romance is a beautiful showcase of how someone can enter in your life, offer an escape when you think there's no way out, and give you the chance to rehabilitate and recover just when you least expect it.

I was tagged once again for a hiatus tag game by @boomheda! This time, we’re gonna take a look back on my favorite Happy Moments in The 100 (although we recognize that even happy moments in this show are bittersweet.)

In no particular order!

1 - The Rover Scene + “Add It Up” Sing-Along

Cheerful, clean, unwounded, adventurous, capable, and strong - the Delinquents at their best. I also think this is one of the best soundtrack moments on the show, but I’ve been a fan of the Violent Femmes for over 15 years now, so I’m biased. It was nice to see them be silly and have fun, the way teenagers 100 years before their time might have.

2 - Everyone Gets a Break in Sanctum + Madi and Jordan Are Cuties

Things go wrong soon enough, but for a couple of days, our heroes got to eat, shower, rest, and joke around with each other. It gives Madi and Jordan the chance to show off their status as “the kids” of the group (although Jordan is only a kid in social experience, not biologically,) and play up a fun adopted sibling vibe. It kind of evokes early Delinquent vibes.

3 - Clarke and Lexa Get Together

If we ignore everything that happens afterwards, this is such a perfect moment. This might be the happiest either woman ever was. The way the realization hits them both at the same time, that they were looking for each other. The futile but admirable attempt at a nice, platonic handshake to say goodbye. The way this bit of contact unravels them. Clarke’s lust. Lexa’s tears. The quiet pillow talk they have afterwards. And then everything was fine forever and nothing bad happened.

This definitely ranks high on the bittersweet scale. 😞

4 - Memori’s Royal Glow-Up

Probably my actual favorite moment of s6. Seeing these two scrappy, outcast lovers rise to the status of royalty was immensely satisfying, even if the way they got there was a bit underhanded. I think they more than redeemed themselves by saving the others after the Lightbournes blasted off. And my little bisexual brain just about burst, seeing them both in formalwear and eyeliner.

5 - Marper’s Videos

This one is just on the sweet side of bittersweet for me. Although it was very hard to lose Monty and Harper, the fact that they had a happy life together, safe and in love, and started a family, is the perfect ending for them, and helps ease some of the pain.They were both so tired of fighting, and I don’t think they would have been happy at all at Sanctum. They would’ve fought for their friends, like they always had, but they were both ready to be at peace. They found that, and so far, they’re the only characters who have.

6 - Jaha “Gets Floated”

Moments of levity are few and far between on this show. Jasper getting to play an old camp prank on Jaha is a fun moment, especially since the writers got to make their “I guess you got floated” joke. Darkly funny, given that Jasper is referencing the many lives Jaha is responsible for taking as Chancellor. It’s the kind of twisted humor you’d expect from people in their position, and something I think the show could use a little more of.

7 - “Day Trip” Is Too Funny

Is there anything more hilarious/terrifying than a hundred unsupervised teenagers wandering around the wilderness, stoned out of their minds? This episode definitely treads the line between dark and funny, and it makes for one of the best “filler” episodes this series has ever done. So many hilarious lines!

“You are the most beautiful broom in a broom closet full of brooms.”

“Is the moon in here?? I can’t change the tides if the moon won’t cooperate!”

“Noo, this is an anti-grounder stick!”

8 - Bellamy and Clarke Reunite After Six Years

Whether or not you ship it, it was satisfying to see these two embrace after so long apart. They were on the brink of something before Praimfaya - that can’t be denied. Knowing how hard it was for Bellamy to leave Clarke behind, and how relatively lonely Clarke was without him and the rest of their friends, makes their reunion especially sweet. Too bad no one knew then how much everything had changed.

9 - The Blake Siblings Are Back

One underrated aspect of the Blake sibling dynamic is how in sync they are, when they’re on the same page. This was such a small moment, but it really made me smile. Josephine, in Clarke’s hijacked body, makes one final, desperate plea to Gabriel to let her live. The Blake siblings are done, because Clarke’s body is running out of time. So they react with a classic simultaneous eye-roll, both turning away in disgust at the same time. It was probably the moment that convinced me that they were gonna be okay, weird as that might sound.

10 - Spacekru

There is no one single moment - I still think this is the best found family dynamic in the whole show. Here’s some of my highlights: Echo and Raven sparring, everyone eating algae together, Murphy being a goblin with an entire half of the ship to himself, their excitement/anxiety when they see the Eligius ship, Bellamy and Emori’s “we didn’t die” exchange, Harper comforting Emori, Bellamy telling Monty to grow something besides algae, Echo and Murphy and Raven and Emori in the snow, Monty and Harper marching from Polis with their family, and every single other moment, too. I miss Spacekru.

I don’t answer questions like these because I don’t give a shit what you think and I don’t know why you give a shit what I think. If you think I’m full of shit then I should be so easy to ignore that you never send me a disparaging anon.

I don’t answer these questions, not because I have nothing to say. I have MILLIONS of words of canon based meta to defend my position. I’ve been arguing for Bellarke for YEARS. WITH CANON EVIDENCE. If there is canon evidence then I am not delusional, it’s an analysis of the show as it stands.

I don’t answer these questions not because I’m afraid to face your pitiful endgame story, but because I’m so fucking tired of having to argue with you people. I don’t care what you think. I think your reasoning is shallow and foolish and actually ignorant. YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW STORIES WORK. And because you don’t understand, you think it doesn’t exist. Despite the fact that you can study how stories work and there are degrees and certifications you can get in that study and there are professions entirely about HOW TO TELL STORIES, and you have no idea of any of it. The reason why so many people call me “delusional” is because I am completely talking over their heads. I’m talking about structure and narrative and symbolism and allusions and archetypes and they think I’m making it all up. Not all shows use those things but this one does. And I’m using them in my analysis. I’m, like, giving a college level course in analysis of The 100.

And that is not even relevant to shipping. Whether I have multiple degrees and decades of experience with this discipline or not. Whether I’m in denial or not. This is my fandom blog where I enjoy my favorite show and my otp and this is my hobby and my hobby is about loving the stuff I love not getting into fights over shipwars.

I don’t answer these questions because it is within my rights to ship WHATEVER THE HELL I WANT whether you believe it or not. It is MY blog where I get to steer the conversation.

B/E is not endgame because it is NOT THE STORY. There is actually no b/e story on this show. There is no romance. There is no longing. There is no fight to be together. There is only b/e finding clarke alive and bellamy being in love with clarke.

The reason why we didn’t see b/e get together, or any flashbacks to them on the ship, is because b/e is not the story. If there’s no story, there’s no endgame... for me. You’re told they’re dating and you think it’s true love. Even though season 6 had them fighting the whole time and drawing apart and NOT being intimate and NOT sharing themselves, and only leaning on each other AS COMRADES AND FAMILY. The B/E story is NOT A STORY. It’s a C/B/E story. Bellamy is with Echo but he loves Clarke. Clarke loves Bellamy but she cannot have him. Echo doesn’t know (or does she?) that Bellamy is in love with Clarke, but she’s keeping a secret from him about her true identity.

The B/E story is this. B/E are together, after being enemies for YEARS. We never saw them get together, the growth, or development or romance. His soulmate returns from the dead. Bellamy is torn between his love for Clarke and his commitment to Echo. Bellamy gets closer to Clarke as his relationship with Echo falls apart due to secrets, an unequal power dynamic (king/good spy,) and lack of emotional intimacy. ACTUAL CANON OBSTACLES. When he said he’d forget the past and move forward with her after she finally told him about her family, the narrative did not SHOW that. The narrative actually showed him, instead, lost in grief for Clarke, and not once opening up to Echo about his feelings, but rather sitting alone without human support AT ALL.

It is much like him saying “nothing will change on the ground.” A statement that proved a complete and utter lie. Bellamy can NOT let go of the past (Clarke) even when she is “dead.”

Bellarke IS the story. This show is ABOUT the relationship between Clarke and Bellamy and how they come together, again and again to save their people and humanity. EVERY season Bellarke has gotten closer and more romantic. YES there are obstacles between them, that is so that there IS A STORY TO TELL. In a romance, the obstacle is there to keep the lovers apart. For them to fight through in order to prove that they belong together and will fight to be together.

The entire show is about Bellarke’s relationship, but the secondary plot of season 5 was about Clarke reuniting with Bellamy. It took all season. Now in season 6, the MAIN PLOT was about Bellamy fighting to save Clarke. Bellamy. By himself. Not spacekru. Not her mom. Not her friends. It was Clarke on her own, in her head, facing her past and her fears and loves, and Bellamy on the outside, desperate to keep her alive doing whatever he could, SAYING he wouldn’t let her die, AND THEN PROVING IT by bringing her back with NOTHING BUT HIS LOVE, saying he needed her, saying he couldn’t lose her, saying he wasn’t giving up on her, and then giving her the KISS OF LIFE, despite it not being necessary for CPR.

The KISS OF LIFE. That’s what it’s called. No it wasn’t a real kiss. Absolutely not. It WAS the Kiss of Life. You know where else we see that concept?

Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Two fairytales that are embedded in our collective subconscious as stories of true love, love saving the day. Clarke was put under a spell by the wicked witch (Josephine) and Bellamy brought her back with True Love’s Kiss. The realistic interpretation of that fairy tale trope is CPR mouth to mouth. Literally, not symbolically, brought back to life by the touch of lip to lip.

Oh but wait. That’s the part that you don’t get. That writers do this shit on purpose to signal to us that this is a love story. That Bellamy and Clarke, the head and the heart, are soulmates. That this is true love. That they are endgame.

The 100 is a post apocalyptic adventure sci fi survival story. Bellarke is an epic, slow burn, soulmate true love story. They committed to THAT story, even if they never got the chance to get to the end of the story. If it had ended anywhere in the middle, they would not have reached their endgame. Every finale had bellarke separated in one way or another. S5 had them TOGETHER, if not with a kiss/confess/sex. I personally do not thing a love story is found in kiss/confess/sex. That is not love. That is not story. It’s cheap. If characters have to kiss/confess/sex to show that they are in love, then the story has failed to show love.

B/E NEEDS to have someone actually SAY that they are together in order to tell us that they are together. We need to see the kiss/confess/sex to know it’s happening, because otherwise it’s not there. (also he has not said he loves echo. script doesn’t count. they took it out.)

We DO NOT NEED to see a kiss/confess/sex to know that Bellarke are in love, soulmates, true love, together, because THE STORY SHOWS US THEIR FEELINGS FOR EACH OTHER.

One is a love story that is amazing. The other is a romantic obstacle to put in the way of our romantic heroes, Clarke and Bellamy, achieving what they truly want. 2199 days/calling her back from the dead levels of truly want. If there’s no obstacle to the goal there’s no story.

B/E is a narrative tool to tell the story of Bellarke. Season 6 set Echo up to have a story about independence, identity and no longer being the good spy to her master. Whether you like that dynamic or not, Bellamy is her master. The story is setting her up to break up with him, Bellarke or no. S6 showed B/E falling apart. They did not have the gravity to exist outside of the ring where there were no outside forces. S6 had Bellamy spending more time, thought, effort and emotion on Clarke than on Echo. And had Echo spending more time, thought, effort and emotion on ECHO than on Bellamy. The B/E relationship is unravelling. Or is unravelled. We’ll find out next season if it’s over or still unwinding.

This is in direct contrast to the Bellarke relationship that has gotten closer, tighter, more intimate, more focused on each other, more physical, more emotionally dependent.

The penultimate scene of s6, the conclusion to the season (the last scene was more like an epilogue that set up s7) had us end on Clarke and Bellamy hugging and talking about emotions and grief and self worth and togetherness and doing better and morals. Somewhere before that, not sure when, it wasn’t shown as important, Bellamy patted Echo on the back and was like “see ya later.”

Catching his breath, running to meet each other, double hug, emotional intimacy, commitment to working together to be better, confirmation of identity, buttery sunlight, sunflares, shadow of two people becoming one. That is how you show an endgame.

Pat on the back see-ya-later is how you show a not-endgame. Because there is actually no game there.

But you don’t understand that, do you? That’s about how you tell a story. Which apparently is irrelevant to you. You only seem to take dialogue as canon. And ignore the dialogue that shows that Bellamy loves Clarke not Echo.

Now we’re getting to the end of the story. Season 7. JR ASKED to be able to tell the end of the story and end it with a satisfying, bittersweet ending. The 100′s version of a happy ending. Just so you know, JR said that season 5 would have a happy ever after ending for one couple. That couple was Marper. That is The 100′s version of a happy ending. True love. Happiness. Peace. Loneliness. Death. Grief. Loss. Dying on their own terms. Living a good life.

Endgame. Bellarke.
