Instantly features soften. How hard it must’ve been for him to admit such and yet her heart ached not to let him back in. That he had broken pieces from the edge and every move pained her. That two broken people could be whole, what a silly concept of hope that had been.

Barely able to whisper such words, her mind begs her to stop, her heart begs her to stay and yet she can’t help but want to leave. She doesn’t look at him, the silence falls like a blanket over them and is heavy amongst the air. She can only bare to tuck a strand of honey behind her ear in order to keep herself busy, but it fails.Vision blurs and voice cracks but only slightly —

There never was… there never would be. She loved him wholeheartedly. It had been the hardest thing she do was to let him go. Holding something they don't need. This delusion in their heads, it was going bring them to their knees.

Ending this war beside him, his heart still beat — but even if it hadn’t for her she would still be grateful to their god who had spared them. End this war, Father laid beside the fallen, now she was truly alone.

There is a moment she feels her body betray her, that her mind tells her that them parting now would be the only right thing to do. That even if he loved her and she loved him, that love was fickle — ever changing that today he wakes loving her, and tomorrow he’s afraid to be loved by her and yet body still moves. Feet finally free from the weight that had once stopped her, arms reach for him, his cheeks and pulls him down, lips meet his in a desperate plea — she already knows her answer. Hand entangle in raven mane, body against his aching for his touch, he left her so, weak. But finally as she parts, her breath is sharp, ivory skin now tear stained. She finds composure still, a moment later and she might have not been able to.

But unfortunately that time no longer exists in this world.

She could not recall a time prior to this when swordsmanship had left her feeling envious. But observing this man and his abilities at the training grounds had poked somewhat of a sharp knife into her ego. Hisui was not inept in battle - in fact, her competency with a bow and arrow may leave others feeling jealous - but she had always struggled with combat at shorter ranges.

Her petite frame didn’t help; swinging heavy metal blades often resulted in her body being thrown completely off-balance. 

She ought to be focusing on her own training, but - she supposed - it would not harm to watch for a few seconds longer... perhaps she could even gleam a tactic or two from his performance.

He’s got a bone to pick with the swordsman, and he won’t stop until he says what he needs to say. He knows felix will probably snap back at him, but over five years ashe has learned how to speak up for himself.
