There a trucks lining the street, bringing welcome improvements to our electricity infrastructure. They had to turn the power off for that. So these babies are getting sunlight from the window instead of LED light this afternoon. Most of these are tomato sprouts, but there are a few cucumber sprouts just coming up.

The extra baby (and by baby, I mean tomato sprout) in the paper cup is from where there were two seedlings in one pod. I gently pulled it out of the pod, saw that its roots came with it, and transplanted it. Everyone tells you to snip off the extra seedling rather than potentially damaging the remaining plant, but my heart won’t let me.

This little hydroponic garden has kept us supplied with fresh herbs since December. No longer will I pay $8 for fresh basil. It’s also nice to see bright green things growing. The early hatching ladybugs 🐞 also find their way to the plants.

Heeeeeey!! It's Spring!! You know what that means??! Planting tiiìiìime. Anyway so yeah here's to the seasons first plantings...In the aerogarden I have 3 pods of 'cascading petunias' and 3 pods of lettuce greens. In the small pots are two goji berry, two white alpine strawberries and 1 red alpine strawberry plant.

Kale plant kept insisting on touching the light. I moved it up again and again, but it was finally fully extended, so it was time for kale to become kale chips.

Also cleaned out roots and replaced kale with a Swiss chard that is threatening to get just as big.

Day 3160 - We planted basil in our Aerogarden over two years ago and it should not still be thriving, but despite the insane woody stems, it still produces a lot. We hated the thought of ending it to move, so the Aerogarden is riding in the van with us! During stops where we have an electrical hook up we can even run it like normal.

And my old red hibiscus bloomed with a single flower today :) Normally I'd feed it to Bentley, but it worked so hard on that flower for so long, I'd have felt bad for taking it. Had to stand on my tippy toes to get a close up of it haha
